Top Reddit comments about Kids' Play Tents & Tunnels:

u/NotMara · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Continued because it was too long lmao

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals.
I honestly really want to get into acting. I love movies and TV shows, and I really would love to start acting. For that reason, this book would be a great addition to my library and would probably teach me a lot.
This book also looks like it would be a good learning experience. :)
I found another great read! I'll pretty much take any acting books I can get.

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items.
Pop Funkos are honestly my go-to add-on item. Like this little fella, for instance. Adorable and affordable (did I just make up a saying? I do believe I did).
What's that? Ah, yes. Pops. The source of my broke-ness. Have another..
Oh, you think I'm done. HA. I'm too far deep to dig myself out of the hole that is my ever-growing collection of Pops. Infinity War just came out (no spoilers, I really want to see it but haven't gotten the chance yet), so how about this adorable Thor Pop? Who doesn't love Thor?

13.) Something fandom related. (Sports fandoms are acceptable- bonus if someone figures out my favorite team)
My favorite band happens to be Twenty One Pilots... and this is a pretty sick shirt.
I'm sorry, I'm still thinking about Infinity War from up above. I found a Thanos shirt that is honestly super cool. Like I've never seen it before and now I want it lmao.
I recently got gifted this absolutely gorgeous and cool Hawkeye T-shirt. It has BOTH Hawkeyes from the comics on it! Super cool.

14.) Something ridiculously priced, more than $10,000. They exist, y’all.
Who the absolute heck buys a $180,000 watch?! Not me, that's for sure.
I'm honestly not even sure what this is, but it's expensive as heck and you could put that money toward an ACTUAL CAR.
Y'all need a parking lift? I gotchu.

15.) Something with sharks or unicorns.
Who doesn't love socks?. Especially socks with unicorns.
You ask for sharks, I get you sharks.
Also no joke this is the cutest thing I've ever seen oh my gosh.

16.) Something that smells wonderful.
I have a cinnamon candle (not that exact one) and I absolutely love it to death.
Who doesn't love coconut lime? I know I love it.
Have you ever thought to yourself, "damn, I really like me the smell of cilantro"? Well, look no further.

17.) A toy that you wanted or had when you were a child that was the best ever, or (if it’s not on amazon) a toy that you think is pretty cool now (Funko Pops, etc., will count.)
If you never played Clue, did you ever really have a childhood?
Another cool toy I had was something like this cool tent-like bus. The one I had had separate sections that were detachable. It was super cool.
I know it's not technically a toy, but I used to watch The Land Before Time ALL the time. I still love that show. It's so, so good.

18.) Something that would be helpful for writers.
Just getting started on writing? Writing for Dummies is always a good place to start.
If you're writing (especially on a computer), you're gonna eventually need some Advil, whether it's from writer's block or a headache from staring at the computer screen too long.
I know it might not be considered useful, but I always thought an ink pen was super cool to have, especially for writers.

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be.
I don't know why, but I suddenly really like Harley Quinn's character. I've been getting, like all the Funko Pops of her. I have a problem.
Oh gosh, you shouldn't have asked. I finally finished catching up to The Walking Dead, and now I want everything Negan related. Like, seriously, I just bought a bloody Lucille of my own. Someone stop me. Anyway, here's a cute little Lucille keychain that I've never seen before.
Another thing I really like is Kylo Ren, but I think you already know that. This BrickHeadz is adorable.

20.) Something that is just so random and weird that it makes you laugh.
This oh my gosh i am dying.
Also idk why but just the lady's posture and the huge heckin' bear is k i l l i n g me.
I don't know how I stumbled upon this weirdass thing but the more I look at it the funnier it is.

Also, this whole thing took me like an hour but it was so much fun. Thanks for the contest!

u/ernieball · 12 pointsr/BabyBumps

I know it's hard not to get caught up in the cuteness of this stuff - I 100% failed with my first. And I ended up wasting so much money on things that were only used for a few months. So trust me when I say - I get it. I was/am you. I am also a person on the other side looking at a $100 wooden walker that does the same (less, even) than the $15 one. An $80 bouncer my son actually hated that I could have replaced with one for $20. Etc. It's a hard pill to swallow when you're looking back on your gear but with the eyes of someone who knows how much it did/did not get used. ESPECIALLY when the whole reason you splurged in the first place was to satisfy your initial goal of not turning my entire house into a fucking playpen and yet, somehow, your house STILL ends up... well... looking like this 😂😂😂

Regardless! To answer your question. A hanging toy rack thing is nice because it encourages baby to start reaching. You can do without one though and just dangle toys yourself, use mirrors to encourage neck turning, whatever. But sometimes it's nice to just... lay there and watch baby and not.fucking.move. for a minute. In either event, any rack will do as well as any other. They say babies see contrasting colors more at this stage than anything else - so black and white geometric hanging shapes are great. But having wooden ones verses geometric ones probably won't be the difference between the next Einstein and the average Joe.

A plushy mat is nice because, well, its plushy. And floors are not. You can 100% get away with piling blankets on your floor and laying baby on those. Or using a foam mat. Having the baby gyms all together in one piece is convenient though, but it's up to you.

As far as use - for sure. Tummy time is recommended multiple times a day, and this mat is how you'll probably do that. I used mine a ton. BUT - you're looking at... 5... 6... months of use. And then baby tends to be more mobile and there's no keeping him/her on it. So between your two items, you're looking at like... $160 for 6 months when you could get the same exact thing at price points like $20, $60, or $80.

ETA - I have a teepee style still left over from my son. It ended up not being my favorite, even though it IS cute, because its bulky and really closed off from natural light. I couldn't walk around the room and see my son from all angles. And getting him in and out around the tent like sides was cumbersome. Live and learn. I'm going to reuse it for #2 because - fuck it. It worked. But if I was buying another I'd probably go with something like this one.

u/roxystrange · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I don't know if you drink coffee or tea, but I found this mug for a Star Wars fan. I ❤️ it.

When I was a little girl, I thought these were the coolest things... my mom wouldn't let me have anything that fun!

If you don't have one of these tunnels for your cat(s), it's a must have! They will love it, I promise.

Something for camping... well, I'm not much an outdoorsy person, but maybe some nice bags for your things. Like one to put your toiletry items in, one for first aid purposes. :)

And sweets! I really love lindt chocolates. (I cannot say that enough.) If you've never tried them I would for sure add it to your list. It comes in so many different kinds.

Thanks for the contest and have a great week.

u/Wonderpuff · 3 pointsr/littlespace

I mean, I'm not sure what your budget is, but I'd buy the heck out of this:
https://smile.amazon.com/Intency-Pink-Princess-Children-Playhouse/dp/B01LWDC1FF/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1525475021&sr=8-14&keywords=play+castle

...and theres like a ball pit attachment. Dang.

Really, any search on Amazon for "play castle" brings up amaaaaaazing stuff that isn't terribly pricey or too massive. All of it looks collapsable so it can be folded up and put away if/when needed, too.

You could even just pick out a cute carpet you like, maybe get a sleeping bag to put down, and create whatever you want. What do you enjoy in little space? Would you want toy cubbies to store things?

I have one of these with a Whale on it : https://smile.amazon.com/Sprouts-Toy-Chest-Elephant-Grey/dp/B00LIX3AW8/ref=sr_1_6?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1525475313&sr=1-6&keywords=toy%2Bstorage&th=1

It's a very nice toy chest and storage for my very tiny plushies <3 you can use it to help create a "wall" to define your physical little zone.

I'd also probably go to somewhere like Squishables.com and buy two or three of the larger size squishables and use them as reclining pillows if you were to sit on the floor, or maybe the bigger size squishmallows? I guess it all depends what you like to do, or what you'd like to use the space for. coloring, reading, watching shows, playing with dolls, it all could have different accessories :3

u/KestrelLowing · 7 pointsr/Dogtraining

Well, a cheap agility tunnel could be found by searching for kid's playstuff.

For example, this is about $20 on amazon. You can't make it turn like you can a real agility tunnel, but it's something!

I'd also suggest getting just some wood and cutting it up into various lengths. Then you can pile it up like it's ruins or rubble which would be great for S&R. You could also add in some lengths of PVC. This would also be great for hiding scents in when you start with more complicated nosework.

Another good thing might be a sheet of vinyl or something similar. I found this on amazon but I remember correctly, IKEA has a really cheap one as well. It's slippery and weird.

A small sheet of astroturf would also be good.

I'm picturing those lengths of wood being used under these surfaces as well to get used to uneven surfaces that aren't altogether steady (although make sure to make sure your puppy is safe!)

Maybe a blue tarp (you know, the standard ones you can get for $20 at walmart) would also be a really good idea. You could hang it up so your puppy has to walk under it, you could make it so that your puppy has to push it aside to go through it, you could make your puppy walk on it. I think a blue tarp would be excellent.

Finally, I'd also suggest making a wobble board. Just glue half a tennis ball onto a 4x4 sheet of plywood. Gets your dog used to things that move.

u/oOoOa · 2 pointsr/Gifts

Sorry but I have no idea what's the best thing to gift to a 1 yr old. Toys comes into mind but there are so many of them that recommending any 1 would not be possible. Anyway I did some Google search, read a few articles, checked out the reviews and selected these 5

u/mysuperfakename · 2 pointsr/Parenting

Okay, so this might only be a small gift, but does he have Trio Blocks? My sons have been playing with these since they were around 2 or 3 yo and they are 7 now. We have bins and bins of these things, they are fantastic!!!

Other cool stuff might be an iPad. I realize that sounds insane, but htere are so many really terrific educational and fun games for these. Not to mention the interactive books, science apps, etc. You can get really good waterproof covers for them as well.

Other suggestion would be an indoor/outdoor tunnel set up like this one. We bought a whole bunch of these and the tunnels. My sons can crawl around two acres of land without ever leaving the tunnel! LOL! So fun!

u/ladypixels · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

Our baby is about that age. I've done some research and put together her Xmas list. Trying to stick with stuff she will grow into and enjoy for some time. Also plenty of board books!
Stuff on her list:
LeapFrog My Pal Frustration Free Packaging, Violet (Frustration Free Packaging)
Etna Caterpillar Tunnel
First 100 Words Lift-the-Flap: Over 35 Fun Flaps to Lift and Learn
Melissa & Doug Winnie The Pooh Soft & Cuddly Hand Puppets Plush
fisher price crawl around car

Stuff she already has and loves:
Never Touch a Dragon
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Magical Lights Fishbowl

u/amipow · 1 pointr/autism

You mentioned he has issues with his speech. Is he able to communicate his needs/wants with you in any way? Some of his behavior could be out of frustration. Once my son learned the sign for "Help" his behavior improved greatly, because he was able to tell us he had a need. It's still the only sign he'll use with any consistency, but it's something...

When playing outside isn't an option, maybe a dedicated place indoors could help. We have a pop up tent that our son can go to when he's overwhelmed and needs to be alone. You may want to try to redirect his energy toward safe and fun rough housing on a bed or couch cushions. He could just be seeking stimulation, and not know how to get it.

u/SaraSmile416 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

When I was about 6, I loved to draw but I was always bummed to use the "kid supplies" to draw with like crayons and markers. My mom went out and got me "real" art supplies because she said I was a "real artist" and needed the "big people" supplies. It meant the world to me, not only because the stuff she bought me was good but that she also believed in me... so, I would recommend for Adela:

u/yoyomamashouse · 2 pointsr/vandwellers

I do! It's a rather expensive one, since I'm living in my car a little more long term than what you're doing, but it's unbelievably comfortable and fits perfectly in the back of my car when the seats are down: http://amzn.to/2jBKVD6 (full disclosure, that's an affiliate link because I really like the product, but you could also just search for Exped MegaMat 10 Sleeping Pad on REI or Amazon). I put that mat on top of a cheapish ($35) cot that I got at Walmart.

u/norwaypine · 8 pointsr/beyondthebump

Honestly at this point he spends most of his time running around the house, playing with Tupperware, pots/pans, going up and down stairs and slamming the door.

We have two small baskets of toys that we trade out. He like a toy very similar to this the best.

He also really likes a piece of wood my husband screwed a latch into.

We have a collapsable tent like this he loves to play and be chased around it. And it just folds down and I can hide it behind the couch

u/expatsconnie · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

My son's favorite first birthday gift was a collapsible tent, tunnel, ball pit combo. Similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/kiddzery-Kids-Crawl-Tunnel-Basketball/dp/B0748W81QP/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=tent%2C+tunnel%2C+ball+pit&qid=1571864383&sr=8-6

I never had the whole thing set up at once, since our space is small, but rather rotated the different pieces in and out as something "new" every few months. But man, did he LOVE every part of that thing, and still plays with it when I bring it out, even though he's almost 3 now. It's nice that it collapses flat for storage, but I will warn you that you will be forever picking up ball pit balls when that part is set up.

My son's birthday is also in December, so I try to get him a few toys that are a bit advanced for now, but that he will grow into, since he will have to wait another whole year for the next major gifting opportunity. For instance, he also got Mega Blocks and a climber/slide combo for outside for his first Christmas/birthday. He wasn't quite ready at the time, but by Summer those things were in full use.

u/awd55 · 1 pointr/DIY

I'm getting my 4 year old daughter this teepee for her play room and want to wire some color changing LEDs inside.

Amazon has tons of options for lights but they are all pretty much the same. Here's an example.

I plan to secure the LED strips to the fabric interior either using the built in adhesive or some light sewing. Most of the strip will be exposed.

Is this dangerous? I'm slightly concerned that the exposed lights will be too bright for my daughter's eyes or that she might play with the strips.

same thing, but cheaper and Cars

We got Tinynurse skates that go over the shoes, PlayDoh is a big hit (even if I'm not a fan), trying to think...she's rough and not "girly", build a bear was a huge hit with her, she loves her zoomer zuppie, hugging Elmo (I'm scanning her toys).

u/LacyMuffin · 3 pointsr/ABDL

Crazy Forts! Somebody got Daddy and me them for a wedding gift, and they're SO FUN. This is the first fort we built, I think... I have more pics of our sets (we have three now, because they're so awesome) on Fet, I think. But there's the regular set (green sticks/purple balls), a pink set (all pink), a glow in the dark set (green sticks/white glow in the dark balls), flexi forts (orange/yellow)... We have the first three, but not flexi forts yet. But they're SO FUN! We have a few spare sheets to use with them, and you can make them big enough to seat a couple adults. And they make little lights you can attach to the balls so you dont need flashlights if it's dark!

u/surfdad67 · 5 pointsr/funny

I was trying to explain an "air fort" to my niece, how we would take a box fan, sheet, and a bunch of sneakers to hold the ends down, she didn't understand, so I googled it. And Amazon actually sells badass air forts

Air Fort Build an Inflatable Fun Kid’s AirFort inflates in Seconds. The Easy Play Tent for Kids of All Ages! Beach Ball Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077XPDBPT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.EwLBb0BEWZB7

So I bought her one

u/steve93 · 5 pointsr/Economics

I think a lot of consumers have smartened up. Lately there really is no true deals for black Friday. I watched the price of multiple gifts I purchased two weeks ago for family climb before Black Friday, then "discounted" to higher than what I paid for them.

Paid $30 for these, now 40

Paid $17, now $25

And the same is for dozens of things I've purchased from different places over the last month. We saw many show up at a "deep discount" still 10-15% higher than what we paid. Retailers stopped giving big bargains and started giving the illusion of discounts. Articles like this (sorry for mobile version) show how much things aren't really on sale anymore.

Black Friday was just an industry term for when businesses started making money, then became a big thing filled with free stuff (after rebates) and cheap things to get you in the store. Now retailers cut back on that because people show up to shop regardless. It used to be just a general busy shopping day. How it's trying to be its own holiday.

u/lordnecro · 3 pointsr/Parenting

My son is 22 months and has been in a toddler bed for a month or two (once he started climbing out).

I got one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0721VHB4C/ and taped it to the sides of the crib to make the crib feel a bit smaller. Seemed to help a bit.

We actually just got him a twin size bed with a new memory foam mattress yesterday... the crib mattress was incredibly firm. He was super excited for the big bed, and kept rubbing the top and saying "awwww". I think he really liked it being softer. He slept through the night last night, so... so far so good.

u/Utex_China · 1 pointr/KidsSports

On the first birthday of the child, everyone wants their gift to be unique and they start thinking about ideal Toys for 1 Year Old. Most common these days are Play Tent available on leading shopping websites at a reasonable price. It comes along with Ball Pit which is ideal for both indoor and outdoor activity.
https://www.amazon.com/Utex-Outdoor-Childrens-Playground-Zippered/dp/B01LZTYKRY/ref=sr_1_1?m=A83QP6JJC0C3W&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1504673133&sr=1-1

u/wintercast · 2 pointsr/Divorce

Check apps like NextDoor. You can even post stating you need some furniture and sometimes people have stuff just sitting around.

If you really have to, get 2 twin mattresses and put them on the floor, kids can sleep on that. Wont scar them for life and then you can work on bunk beds. Or heck they might like the bed tents. They make some that totally cover the bed or just a little. But it can give some privacy to the kids if they have to share a room and makes things fun.

We have the same for my two year old, except for the cuddle pillow, couldn't find one of those.

I also got him a Thomas playhut for his 2nd birthday, his little heart just melted when he woke up and saw up. All he could say was a dreamy sort of "Thomas........"

The thing normally runs $40 new on Amazon and at least $20 if you find a used one on Craigslist.

The paydirt part also covers a sometimes hyperactive toddler being fully entertained/drained for the remainder of an afternoon.
