Welcome back!
Here's my list of suggestions, why, and links to where to get them. A few are only available on computer, but you'll see which ones:
As for if you should give 1 or 2 gifts, I think 2 might be a lot of fun! But it might depend on what the "1st place" person has on their list and what you want to give them! I'd say make the decision based off of what you want to give the main winner! =)
===========
EDIT - 3DS Games to consider:
edit 2: P.S: I'm new. I'll be making an intro post hopefully tonight! So hopefully it's alright that I posted here first. I was just excited, as I'm a gamer and love helping people with what to play next. In any event... HI!!
edit 3: I just made my [INTRO] post. It's here if you/anyone's interested.
Anyway.
She ended up bring home a metric fuck-ton of these sheets of Halloween stickers. They were those little decals that you stuck up in your windows and what not, easy to put on and peel off. Fun stuff. Cheesy little Frankensteins, ghosts, pumpkins, and whatnot. We had this pile of these things sitting out in their garage for a few years, never really doing anything with them. So, I end up deciding to be enterprising as hell one day. It's kinda close to Halloween, I'm going to sell these things. I get her permission, get laughed at by my grandpa and dad, load up my Red Flyer as much as I can, (again, fucking ton of these things so I can only take so much at a time) and head door to door selling these things one sheet at a time. I started out charging a quarter a pop for these things, which ended up becoming fifty cents rather quickly. So I spend my day, going door to door, stopping and heading home every now and then to restock my supply.
Should probably note that I was a little kid doing this. Cute as fuck little kid at that. Probably around 8 or 10, something like that, maybe not even that old to be honest.
So yeah, end up going to every house on our street and on the neighboring streets as well, knocking on doors, playing up the cute kid act, selling stuff, making that sweet sweet silver. Well, partially silver anyway. I usually lucked out and had a kid answering the door, who would always flip out and buy up the sheets like no other, you know, because kids flippin' love stickers.
By that evening I had managed to sell every single sheet of that stuff, and had netted about 200 dollars. My grandma was super proud of me. My dad and grandpa on the other hand started talking about using the money and all that, which was quickly shot down by my grandmother since, as she put it, "He did all the work and you just laughed at him."
Ended up paying for the gas and everything for us to go to this super nice arcade in the nearby city, along with dinner and everything. Probably the coolest feeling in the world for a little kid to be able to treat his entire family to an evening out.
Yeah. Sorry for the wall o'text there. Basically it'd give me something really fun to play on my Vita, and would just make me a really happy gamer.
I love the franchise, so I'm sure that makes me curve its grade better than most. But overall? Yes. I would have loved to have a 1:1 conversion of all content from Borderlands2 (especially TinyTina's adventure!), but I can still romp around in Lynchwood, listen to HandsomeJack's madness from start to finish, even take on the total conversion for the sand pirates of CaptainScarlett's addon, one of the two included. Combat feels more Ratchet&Clank than Borderlands, but it's still enjoyable and the hardware itself is a joy to hold and play on.
The biggest asset the game has on Vita is that excellent package I got mine with, where you get a memcard, the hardware, and a game to boot, all for cheaper than the regular price, or worse-case scenario, cheaper than purchasing the individual components separately. But the game feels more a fan's adventure than a standalone experience, so the current price of $20 (and sometimes $10!) is the perfect intersection between hours and hours of content and the level of gameplay. I'd still recommend, and highly recommend if you love the Borderlands franchise!
(My next hugely-anticipated title is the Vita version of XCOM, so I can buy it a 6th time, but even more portable this time around than on a full-sized tablet or eating battery off my phone!)
Exceptional conversation you've prompted on here, /u/KuronekoFan! Definitely enjoying all the responses, from yourself and all Vita VIPs!
Well you may be able to play those PSP games on your Vita, but you would have to repurchase them on the PSN.
As for games:
I'm still a kid at heart!
My favorite gaming memory is playing The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I would stay up all night and be so tired the next morning before I went to school over and over for weeks because of that game. It is my favorite Zelda game and will always hold a place in my heart! I played it more than I have played any of the other games. I was just so fascinated and happy that I could go everywhere on a boat lol.
Thanks for the contest!
Persona 4 Golden would be awesome!
Unit 13 sounds generic, but it really is a great game. You can pick it up for 9.99 on Amazon and it holds a rating of 4.5 stars. It has dozens of missions that use both stealth and a straight forward guns-blazing approach. Honestly, it looks generic, but it is a lot of fun.
Also MGS: Peace Walker is an option, it's regarded as one of the best and holds an 89 on metacritic.
No one's suggested Danganronpa, re: games? Gotta fix that.
As a female vita owner who also likes J-games, I'm going to recommend Danganronpa. If you think your wife would like a game about teenagers trapped in a school and forced to kill each other, where one of the main characters is an animatronic wise-cracking bear. And if she doesn't already have it.
...only if she likes to read, though, since it's a visual novel (with mini-games and wandering around the school, but still a ton of reading).
If she likes that, there are two other Danganronpa games + a future game on the horizon.
If she ends up liking visual novels, there's also the Steins;Gate visual novel and Virtue's Last Reward (which I haven't yet played myself but have been assured is fantastic).
I also totally second P4G. And Project Diva, if she likes rhythm games. And maybe Hatoful Boyfriend, if you think she'd like dating pigeons.
There are also a bunch of classic PS1 JRPGs available for the vita via the PSN store for super-cheap, like Final Fantasy and Suikoden.
Can't help too much with accessories, except to say that you should definitely get her a big memory card if you can, and that the P4G Dancing All Night Collector's Edition includes a neat pouch and vita skin. Depends on whether she's into P4G, though.
Edit: quick grammar fix
First of all: Welcome to the Netherworld!
If you're wanting to dig into the series, I'd recommend starting at the beginning. The primary reason for this is that the game mechanics have evolved over the years, and if you start with the most recent games you may find the older ones more frustrating. The original Disgaea was a PS2 game (Hour of Darkness) that also has a PSP release (Afternoon of Darkness), as well as DS. In February it will be releasing on Steam for PC for the first time as well!
If you don't mind skipping a few titles, then starting with 3 should be fine. The Vita versions can be purchased directly from NIS America's webstore, and perhaps a few select online retailers. (Example, here's Amazon US's page: http://amzn.com/B006FRMVIQ )
Be aware that Disgaea is built on the foundation of silliness, massive numbers, and grinding. It is FAR more light-hearted than Final Fantasy Tactics. As long as you embrace this from the get-go, you'll have a wonderful time! If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask, I'll respond when available. You can also PM me.
Cheers, and hope you enjoy the shenanigans!
Persona 4 Golden is a great RPG/Dungeon crawler/
waifuingsocializing/ game and if you like P4G you can get Persona 4 Dancing All Night, the story isn't as good as P4G but the music is outstanding.Stiens;Gate is pretty much just a visual novel the only "game" aspect of it is responding to the emails you get, that's how you decide your ending. It just got a sequel too, but I haven't played that yet so I can't really recommend it yet.
I was never big into Final Fantasy but if you are World of Final Fantasy will probably be a game you'd enjoy. Again haven't played it or any other FF really, but I heard this one's not bad.
For a game under $20, I really want to get my hands on Persona 4! I played 5 recently, and absolutely fell in love with it. I spent about 150 hours on it total between 2 complete playthroughs, and getting every trophy, too. So now, instead of being tired of the genre and needing a break, I've actually just got a craving to play even more. Basically, the game boils down to being a student, living your (literally) day to day life, then going into places and fighting monsters with other monsters. It's like Final Fantasy X meets Pokemon meets Time Management. And it's so good.
For a favorite game, I've gotta go with Super Mario RPG. This game oozes charm. It was my first JRPG ever, and features my favorite plumber, too (sorry, Luigi). The game takes the typical Mario formula and turns it upside down, and while that isn't out of the norm these days, it was a huge switch from convention back then. It's a good intro to RPG game with a good story, easy-enough mechanics, and, like I said, a crazy amount of charm. I go back to it every year or two to run it again.
Sony's off and on about whether or not they'll support the system (one chap saying it's a "Legacy" platform while another says they have 1st party content in the works). That said it's still a powerful system and several 3rd party developers with great reputations who continue popping out releases for it like Koei Tecmo (Atelier, Samurai Warriors, and Toukiden are fair examples). Whether or not it's worthwhile however is largely up to you.
Do you like RPGs, Monster Hunter-likes, and Final Fantasy? Do you own a Play Station (you can stream PS4/3 titles across your home to play any game granted an internet connection)? Do you want to conserve the battery on your mobile device with a game that's probably a much more in-depth experience or are you content with Fallout Shelter?
Consider the above, though if I am to throw in an extra bone buy one of these (though not necessarily this one in particular just make sure it's got some kind of loop or hole in the case so you may attach it to something with a sturdy carabiner.). I actually use mine for my phone and other stuff too and it's quite convenient.
I'm assuming you're a US citizen, but... dood,
I know it's extra expense, but $110 (plus any applicable sales tax for your state) ain't half bad.
PSTV works with PS3+4 controllers afaict (it works with mine but mine's fully patched!), so... you should be good to go.
Other than that... Disgaea 3 was a decent game, Disgaea 4 is FAR superior to it. Get D4 before / instead of D3 if budget's a concern.
That and you can pick up Disgaea 1 Afternoon of Darkness PSP version and Disgaea 2 PSP for it too... :p guess what I've got on my Vita? :D
Disgaea 5 beats both of them on convenience of the game's systems etc. It's really well done. So get Disgaea 5 to go with your new PS4, and then think about the Vita versions of the prior games, maybe :)
EDIT: $31 for the Triple Play: https://www.amazon.com/Disgaea-Triple-Play-Collection-PlayStation/dp/B011L4CFB0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487863466&sr=8-1&keywords=disgaea+collection - so a cheap PS3 might be a good way to go if you can get that!
PS3 is also a blu-ray player so if you're the kind who needs a blu-ray player for a second room, ... there's a convenient excuse for you :D
Luckily for you, DanganRonpa is a very basic series to get in to. Mainly, at least. I'm gonna go ahead and run through it here, in case you or anyone else wants to save this to reference in the future so you don't have to google questions.
DanganRonpa is primarily a visual novel murder mystery video game series. In them, you will play as school aged characters, make relationships, then watch all of your favorite characters die and be forced to figure out which of your other friends killed them. I won't say any more about the plot, but it's somewhat Saw-esque, in that people are trapped, yadda yadda. No torture porn, though. For the most part, at least.
The first title, and the one you would play first, is DanganRonpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. This is available for PS Vita as a physical release or digital download, but it was also ported to PS4 on the Danganronpa 1.2 Reload disc. Either works.
The next game in the series is DanganRonpa 2: Goodbye Despair. This is, if you ask me, a substantially better game than the first, and can again be bought for PS Vita physically or digitally, and was released with DR1 on the 1.2 Reload Disc I mentioned earlier. The PS4 version is pretty much the first two games bundled and released on PS4, since the series had been handheld only until then.
Also, if you're interested, Danganronpa 1 & 2 were originally Japan-only PSP games, and the Vita versions are actually enhanced ports. But we never got the originals. I digress.
Next up would be DanganRonpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, which I honestly can't recommend. Instead of being a visual novel, it's an odd third person shooter, and it's not a murder mystery or anything. The plot also ended up not being important. I would say just read a plot summary when you get to this point (not early, it'll spoil the first two games), and move on, but if you want this can be bought for Vita (the original release) or PS4 (a recent port).
Next up is DanganRonpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy. This is an odd one since it's actually an anime. They wanted to wrap up the story arc they had going, but they didn't want to be tied down by making it an interactive game, so they made it an anime. You can easily find it all online, the only hard part is finding the order to watch it. The show was split up into two arcs, "Future", and "Despair", with the final episode being the only episode in the "Hope" arc. If you get to this point, here is an episode guide (be extremely cautious about scrolling on that page, as you might have it spoiled for you; I think that same page has a plot synopsis). Watch it in the order listed there and no other order. The anime was overall good, but it definitely had it's flaws.
Finally, we get to the upcoming release: DanganRonpa V3: Killing Harmony. It has a confusing name, I know. I think they should've just called it V4, since even though it's only the third main game, having two entries with a "3" in it is confusing. Either way, this will be another game like DanganRonpa 1 and 2, with an entirely new cast of characters and a brand new overarching plot (since the anime of DanganRonpa 3 finished the plot regarding the previous characters). It will be released on Vita and PS4 on 9/26. However, it's been out in Japan since 1/12 so many spoilers are present online; be careful!
And that's it! In the end, be extremely careful about looking up anything about the series, as knowing who lives or dies could ruin a lot of the fun of playing them. There's also a couple smaller short novels and misc. Media, but I don't think they're necessary and I don't even know much about them myself despite being a huge fan. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
On a side note, if you're interested I can also do a rundown of the Persona games and their releases if you want, as some of them have been released multiple times with different features. Just ask if you want me to! I know it was frustrating for me when I had to do a bunch of google searches to find all the information the first time.
EDIT: Oh my god I can't believe I completely forgot the steam releases! Along with the PS4 (which I did mention), DanganRonpa 1, 2, and Another Episode have all been ported to steam this year, so they are also available to play on PC if you prefer doing so.
First off thanks for serving.
For accessories definitely get a screen protector.
I have a silicon case on mine I got from GameStop but just get one you like but one that’s still slim so you can pocket it.
I also have this pouch that you can put your games, charger, and system in.
Sony Pouch
As for your games as long as there ps vita compatible and it’s the same account you should be able to download them. Memory cards are expensive though.
I’m not sure what games you like but some of my favorites are Soul Sacrifice Delta, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid.
Again thanks for serving and hope you come home ok.
Persona 4 Golden has some added Social Links, some new features like a vegetable garden (basically letting you grow items that you can't usually purchase), some additional characters and story events for said characters, additional Personas, new explorable areas of the overworld, a bonus dungeon, new music, costumes that you can wear to affect a character's appearance only, more playable days if you're on track for the true ending, various QoL adjustments to the battle system, and a special epilogue.
It sounds like a lot, and it kinda is, but don't let it put you off P4 Vanilla if Golden represents a bigger financial investment for you. The vast majority of the game is mostly the same. If you're really looking to play Golden and don't have a Vita, I recommend the PS TV, which has near-complete Vita functionality for only $40 (and the Vita has plenty of good games, mind you. May I also recommend Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc?). Golden is also only about $20.
Buy a playstation tv for like $20 at a local store like gamestop or craigslist and get persona 4 for like $20.
https://www.amazon.com/Persona-4-Golden-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B007W8S2MG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494010682&sr=8-1&keywords=persona+4+ps+vita
Added bonus of a new system with some awesome games and another persona awesome adventure!
I have the PDP Trigger Grips. Be warned, if you have a "full" screen protector (Static Cling or Water applied) it will scrunch it up unless you work really hard to either trim the water applied/static cling or some how mess with the Static Cling.
---
Some additional accessories that I find useful:
Of course, a travel case. Depending on your style pick a cloth or hard case. I personally like my official Sony Travel Pouch. It's soft and has lots of room for the Vita, headphones, extra games, and a cleaning cloth. Hard cases (Usually 3rd party) are pretty good depending which. I also have the DreamGear hard case as a more travel friendly when going to another person's house. My issue with it is that the case itself fits really snugly with the Vita where it can push on the Power button.
Official Vita Travel Pouch (9.33. Free shipping with Prime)
DreamGEAR 7 in 1 Starter Gear Hard Case (12.99 Free shipping with Prime or $25+)
---
You also want a back screen protector for the back touch panel alone. That thing is very prone to scratches.
---
Thumbstick grips are also very great for the extra grip you want. Sadly, the one I have is discontinued. So I can't really recommend a product I haven't used.
Bluecell Thumb Grips

A great pair of headphones is a must if you travel a bit. I would wholeheartly recommend the official Sony Vita headphones. Great sound and cheap. Has a built in Mic but I'm not sure how good that is.
Official Sony Vita In Ear Canal headphones ($11.95)

A handy 2A-2.1A outlet USB charger with a spare USB Vita Cable is always nice to have around traveling.
Please Note: When purchasing additional back up battery packs or charging outlet thingies. Make sure it's 2A to 2.1A (2,000 mA to 21000 mA. not mAh**) output. The vita needs at least 1.5A output to be charged while playing or 1A while off (Very slow).
First of all, mandatory gif.
Theres a big chance we are going to have a flash sale tomorrow, if not, next friday, so, you could wait to see if we get one tomorrow and look if they have something you are interested.
If theres no sale tomorrow, you can buy Persona 4 Golden from the PSN at 30 USD or physical from amazon at 20 USD, the game is totally worth any price, is a long game, my first run was like 70 hours, one of the best games I have ever played, just have in mind that is the most JRPG thing you will ever play, 75% of great dialogues and 25% dungeons with challenging boss fights.
But of course my good sir! I just got into Steins;Gate thanks for it being on the Vita this summer.

It was definitely worth the purchase. I bought this game on a whim, not seeing the anime or played the VN. Once I played it, I fell in love with it!
You might as well wait for a sale. I mean, it's a really good visual novel game. Probably the best VN I've played on the Vita (along with its sequel).
But because it goes on sale every so often, you may as well just wait for a sale.
Also, FYI, Amazon currently has the retail version on sale for $29

The Sly games are a mix of platforming, exploration and optional, and mandatory stealth. For the most part, you can free roam areas in the games anyway you'd like to. Here's a quote of my past review on the port.
"I'm a very big Sly fan on this sub-reddit! I own ALL versions of the Sly games. Please look at my review for everything you want to know, including the port job.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/review/B00ICWO2CA/R34RVYT3KQQ33N/ref=cm_cr_dp_mb_rvw_1?ie=UTF8&cursor=1
Otherwise, the differences are this...
Missing content/features: While every port after the PS2 originals are missing content, the Vita version is missing the most. Both the PS2 and Vita versions are missing bonus unlockable videos from Sly 2. The PS3 version is missing the behind the scenes video in the Sly 1, but the Vita version has it. The Vita version no longer has the multiplayer modes from the home console versions of Sly 3. The PS3 version still supports 3D for every game, but only on 3DTVs, unlike the PS2 version. Although, 3D only works with Sly 3 on the PS2, but with an older analglyph 3D. The Vita version doesn't support 3D on any game, but It's not needed.
Vita playability: This version plays extremely well. It only drops major frames for a second during one boss battle in Sly 3. Then of course, a few areas in Sly 1 drop, but it's barely noticeable. Sly 2 has no issues from my experience. Other than that, the games run smoothly pretty much anywhere. Some controls have been re-mapped on the Vita, but it's quite comfortable. On the handheld, you can only equip one item (to L) at a time. It doesn't hurt the experience by much.
Unique hub: The PS3 version contains a menu with the 3 games on it and theme/music playing, but the Vita version accesses the games differently. For example, Sly 1 and 2 are chosen from a black background, and a jingle sound confirms it. Sly 3 just loads normally with no special menu in place before the main one. On the PS3, there are also minigames with the PS Move, but they are just average Move games, not too interesting to have. There is also a PS3 trailer for Sly 4. It unlocks after 100% trophies with every game.
That's pretty much it, but further details are in my review."

Welcome to the club!!
Sub to /r/vita now if you'd like. A niche community of course but always helpful, aside from their discouraging saltiness given the way that Sony has treated the Vita. Their complaints are valid but sometimes it clogs up the place and makes it toxic.
Never played Tearaway but heard it is a "Must-have" and never touched the Final Fantasy series aside from being an avid gamer
since around '94-'95^shhh^don't^tell
P4G is amazing! (but everyone is pretty much going to tell you that.) But it really is one of my favorite video games ever to date. Just be warned that it takes a long ass time to get to the actually gameplay (about 2 hours.) When I started it, I was on a short road trip so it didn't bother me at all, but I still feel like even if I wasn't I wouldn't have gotten bored and begged for gameplay (which can't be said about a lot of story heavy games). Still think it deserves a warning, and after that though the story vs. gameplay is pretty balanced. Also you can skip through all the cutscenes and even fast forward the dialogue but I feel like you would really be doing a disservice to yourself.
One last thing, I prefer to own physical copies of games that are very long and I know I will be playing extensively to save memory. P4G is almost always $20 bucks on amazon I know it's more expensive than what's on sale now but just throwing it out there.
P4G is currently $20 on Amazon and Gamestop. PSN is $30. It's honestly worth the money though. Lots of replay value, tons of story extras and events.
I would also recommend getting the Danganronpa series if you are into visual novel style games. Great murder mystery game (and if the English voices aren't your thing, you can change the language). I think both games are ~$30.
Virtues Last Reward and Y's: Memories of Celceta are my other recommendations. Virtue is ~$30 and Y's is ~$20.
If you like physical media, Steins;gate is like $23 on Amazon :)
https://www.amazon.com/Steins-Gate-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B011ERY5IA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1484348555&sr=8-2&keywords=steins%3Bgate
It also happens to be the best VN on the vita (except possibly the sequel, as I haven't played it yet).
There aren't any games in specific that I'm looking for as a Vita owner except for Killzone Mercenary. I'm just looking for Sony to acknowledge their Vita a bit more and make it one of their selling points during the presentation, rather than focus only on the PS4. Almost 100% sure they're going to do more Last of Us & WatchDogs there.
I'm also hoping for some cheap sales on PSN while they're doing E3. Pretty sure that'll happen. This is the cheapest game on my wishlist. Thanks.
I have two:
Well, first off, i love /r/vita and all of its users. i've owned my vita for around 6 months, and aside from my pc it's the only thing i can play games on.
I've had to choose which games i buy wisely, because i am rather poor, and i'd really enjoy adding a third game to my abysmal
collection of vita games. I know this isn't as good of a reason other user have submitted, but hey, it's worth a shot, right? If it's not too much trouble, i'd like rayman origins
I bought one in December, but I think it's gonna be pretty hard to find it.
Try amazon?
They have one here: http://www.amazon.com/Assassins-Creed-Liberation-PlayStation-Wi-Fi-Bundle/dp/B002I0JZOC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369391399&sr=8-1&keywords=ps+vita+assassin%27s+creed+bundle
But it's pretty pricey
It's pretty fun. Wacky characters that each have their own play style. There's a demo you can get to try it out if you'd like, and it's only $9 brand new in the physical version, in case memory card space is a concern.
I used this as my case for a very long time. It isn't Fort Knox, but it more than easily gets the job done.
I hear on the sub this case is pretty good, but no personal experience.
Really well done review, I'm interested in it but I had planned to grab a Waterfield case for it, and I'm 99% sure it won't fit inside the case with the grips attached.
_____
By chance, does anyone would know if the grip + Vita would fit in the PSV travel case?
Thanks for the reply!
Unfortunately, $30 is more than I'm willing to pay. On mobile now, so I can't link until I arrive home, but a physical edition on Amazon has been $20 with free shipping. Edit: http://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-2-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B00IPTUJ8G
Do you think you could do better than that? If you are still open to negotiations, I have no trouble waiting for you to get back to me when you're free again.
I use the official travel pouch. I like it great so far, and it fits nicely in my day pack.
There is a official Sony case that they sell at target that works best i hear. But for the screen protector be careful because the one i got when i got the starter pack (which included screen protector, cloth and gel case) was for the 1000 and Does not line up well at all with the 2000.
Edit: The Case is not to be confused with this one but this one looks good as well.
ok well after a bit more searching so far I might have found what I was looking for on amazon

but yea i'll also check out my local gamestop as well from what you guys told me thx
You don't need to buy a vita. All you need is to buy a Playstation TV and a copy of Persona 4 Golden for vita. The Playstation TV plays most Vita games including Persona 4 Golden. It has a game slot cartridge so even physical vita games work. It hooks straight to your TV via HDMI. This is what I used to play P4G and it was well worth it!
> Do you know how much the online pass costs,
It should be $9.99.
> and if it was still worth purchasing now?
I would say it isn't worth purchasing, no. Aside from the online being pretty dead which is a big reason, the bigger reason is that you can always find the game with the online pass through other means. As I said in the top post, it goes on sale for $9.99 a lot. It's actually only $15.76 right now on Amazon. For another $6 you get the online pass and a brand new copy, for whatever the latter is worth. Wait a couple weeks and it will be only $9.99, equivalent to the cost of the online pass or used copy.
If there wasn't that pricing possibility, almost guarantee, then one could argue the online pass is worth it if you knew you had people to play with (/r/VitaGameNight Plug) somehow aside from just meeting randoms in the lobby.
Online is required to get the Platinum, so there's another way someone could work out extra value to justify the decision.
I use the CTA Digital case. I also have the official Sony Travel Pouch for keeping the 3 parts of the charger, though to fit the Vita in there with the brick and USB cable, I have to take the part that plugs into the electrical outlet (the figure 8 cable) out or else it's too tight of a fit. Also if you've got Sony's official external battery pack, that can fit where the bricks goes in the pics.
I also have the following 2 cases made by HORI which I'm not using atm. The blue I'm intending on using with the Aqua Blue slim I'm planning on getting in July so I have both the OLED and slim Vitas, and maybe sometime the pink one if I want to carry games as the blue one unfortunately doesn't hold any.
https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0166G4ZKC
https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B005WPFLO8 (Looks like this on the inside, my OLED Vita did move around a bit when I tested it out which some of the reviews pointed out if Google translate is to be trusted)
Planning on also getting this Smatree case for that Vita slim for holding the 3 parts of the charger and if I ever want to bring everything at once. According to reviews, all 3 parts will fit, but it'll be a bit of a tight fit.
The Danganronpa series is pretty highly regarded.
Tearaway is also a good choice. Really utilizes the Vita capabilities well.

The games really are better than the anime. And Chiaki is best girl.
Amazon? (note: I suggest checking other places for better deals, this was just my first result googling it and I dunno if it's the best price out there).
It has an official localization though so managing to buy a copy of it shouldn't be that tricky.
Do you already own a PS4? I would go on Amazon and buy a PSTV. It’s a tiny little thing but it can play Vita games on your TV screen, and you can buy/download PS1 games as well so there’s more value. You do need to purchase a new controller to use with the system (I could be wrong), but those don’t cost all that much. I suggest getting a Dualshock 4 (basically a PS4 controller) as there’s some minor stuff you can so woth the touch screen.
$20.53 (based on lowest-priced option I found)
$249.95
$42.99
So far, using all the cheapest options, that runs you $313.97.
You may be able to find certain things for cheaper, not sure.
Edit: Apparently the Vita goes for cheaper than the PSTV, clocking in at $220.
Swapping out the PSTV for the Vita brings the total down to $283.52.
Edit 2: I suck at math and logic. You wouldn’t buy a controller if you bought a Vita. Final price is $240.53.
I just settled for a hard purple shell and a pink carrying case for my Vita.
The hard shell fits nicely and looks great (love the color of purple!). It protects the Vita from scratches too which is a nice bonus.
I absolutely love my pink case. I imported it from Japan back in May 2014 and it still looks almost brand new, doesn't pick up dirt easily, surprisingly.
I was afraid the Vita wouldn't fit in that case with the shell on it, but it does. It makes it just snug enough that I don't have to worry about unzipping it upside down accidentally and the Vita falling out and hitting the ground.
IMO any case that is going to be used to protect the vita from drops and such is going to be a bit thicker than a case made to prevent scratches. If you want just a hard case I would check out this amazon case. What I would suggest doing tho is getting a carrying case like this and buying a rubber cover or a nice personalized skin. And of corse always use a screen protector.
The coolest item you say? Since you just got a Vita, I highly recommend this game! Persona 4 Golden It's one of my favorite games of all time!
> does anyone have any reasons not to buy it for $25 on psn?
7.31 reasons to be exact
Seriously though, it's a nice game, if only the camera was slightly repositioned, it would be the best FPS on vita right now.
Amazon ive got a link as im gna purchase it soon

hope you pick it up :)
The definitive game to me is Project Diva f 2nd. I put in like 100 hours on it so it has amazing value for the price.
If you get the game and manage to beat an 8 star or higher song on extreme difficulty with an excellent rating, I will buy you another rhythm game. No bamboozle.
It's temporary out of stock but you can still pick it up at $20 if you buy it directly from Amazon and they'll ship when in stock so get that order in. Cheers!

I'll give you the three things I want the most, because I'm not sure what you mean by reasonable, and they're all in different price ranges

Cheaper on Amazon. But you should grab S;G at this price anyways because it's awesome.
Do you mean you can't find a cheap physical copy online? Cause Amazon has copies for $60. I'm not sure how much it was on release day a year ago, but $60 seems pretty high for a PS Vita title.

$15.99 w/ Amazon Prime or orders with $25 and more.
Enjoy!
It's been on [Amazon] for quite a few months at that $200 price point. I can't really complain, since I like most of my stuff in white/pink/blue. Perhaps if/when a new model comes out, there will be new colours as well.
I carry my White Vita 2000 in an imported Hori case in hot pink (link), it's made more for the original Vita, so the top portion has enough space to hold both a microfiber cloth and a long USB cable for charging. It also had a nifty flap to hold three games.
I only carry my Vita with me on trips usually.
I have the hori screen protector. I really like it and it covers the entire face, minus the areas where there are speaker holes.
I have the padded Sony case (official?) and I like it.
I use the Hori Hard Case for my Vita, and a Hori 12 and 24 for my games, both purchased from Amazon. Here is a picture of them both. They hold up quite well, I've had them for maybe two years, and they are still in great condition.
Both are pretty expensive now, but I purchased the hard case for $16, the Hori 12 for $9, and the Hori 24 for $15.
I'd love to know how you did that seeing that it's currently $319

Not sure if that link will work. But seems very worth it; to BC it works out to just under $40 CAD.
Keep it secret. Keep it safe.
I have this Sony Travel Pouch and it has served me well.
Just a friendly heads up: Rayman is $19.99 on Amazon right now
Buy it used! I've been eyeing this game for a while...

I love P4G sooooooooo much.
Nope, at least not that I can tell. This is my first Persona game ever. I am 25 hours in and feel like there is nothing I am missing.
And if you live in the US it is only $29 on Amazon right now

It gets confusing because they have a couple of different links for the game. Hope this helps.
For me it was the amazing Black Friday Deal last year.
This bundle for $179.99. That's when I knew it was time to surrender myself to the Vita.
I basically freaked out in front of my computer when I got that deal.
I bought this one. It's very compact and snug. I just used it for a trip back in September. It fit my Vita with silicone skin, charger with both cables and four games.
I've used this carry case ever since release of the Vita. It's wonderful for the console and games/memory cards. But doesn't accommodate a grip case unfortunately.

They don't seem to stock Danganropa. It was on my watchlist along with FFX-HD. I'm sure I could have figured out a 3rd game to go along with it.
This is as cheap as it's going to get as far as new retail value goes. Although I'll hold out for black friday. As much as I want this, I can wait a little longer.
Edit: Amazon has a copy for $19.19 right now if gas or something else is an issue. That's about $2.70 more than bestbuy is offering with %10 tax. I have prime, so I'm not sure if non-prime users will get a shipping price.
Surprisingly from what I found the other games in the series were actually localized officially.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Atlus-PS-20000-9-Persona-4-Golden/dp/B007W8S2MG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1407806093&sr=8-2&keywords=persona+4+golden
I got mine from amazon. If you have a PS4 or PS3 controller, it will be $50 for the PSTV and $20 for P4G. If you don't have a controller, there is a PSTV bundle with one for $80.
So basically, if you have a controller it will be $70, otherwise $100. Links below:
PSTV
P4G
I just use this... www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Travel-Pouch/dp/B006PP41Q8/
It will actually fit both my 1000 and 2000 if I really want it to... but I usually do not do that.
Doubtful. The only copies on Amazon are through a third party seller right now. They're more expensive than its normal retail price: http://smile.amazon.com/DanganRonpa-Trigger-Happy-Havoc-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B00DVPMVIU?sa-no-redirect=1
IMO, the Borderlands 2 bundle is still the better deal. It costs $195 but you can sell the BL2 code for at least $20. Plus, with the bundle, you get the proprietary (dumb) 8gb memory card which should get you by... they're expensive on their own.

Also half price ;)
I'm playing this weird little game... http://www.amazon.com/DanganRonpa-Trigger-Happy-Havoc-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B00DVPMVIU
It's very dark. Plus daily Spelunky.
US Amazon has some copies. I'd just go digital if you're having this much trouble.
It's available on the UK Amazon site https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007W8S2MG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JuuKybCS5NS4G
Canadian amazon aswell Persona 4 Golden - PlayStation Vita - Standard Edition https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B007W8S2MG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xBuKybKSEMQNC
The physical copy on amazon is down to a regular price of $25, in case you don't have memory space to spare or prefer physical copies.
It's actually been at that price on Amazon for several months now.

It's also on sale on Amazon Canada for $31.99.

It's $40 on Amazon, I got it a couple weeks ago https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0186D1TYS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_LUFKBb2TX19N3
Since you're asking specifically for cheap games on amazon:
Most are available cheaper used. You can find more here, you just have to skip the ones that don't interest you.
Amazon is temporarily out of stock, but you can still get this price if you go to the all seller's page.
It's not that hard to search...
But here you go.

That's what occurred to me when it was first listed, but after checking, many of their listings for retail releases had the same logo on the box art: http://www.amazon.com/Persona-4-Golden-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B007W8S2MG/ref=lp_4924899011_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1406582872&sr=1-2

It's actually on sale for 14$ on amazon.ca. Just stumbled across it. http://www.amazon.ca/Persona-Golden-PlayStation-Vita-Standard/dp/B007W8S2MG/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1418844880&sr=8-6&keywords=vita+memory+card
Persona 4 Golden was a re-release for PS Vita.
Hm? [Amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/Persona-4-Golden-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B007W8S2MG) or GameStop has it $20 exactly.
I think you need this first, followed by 2, 3 and 4! P4 also has an anime based on it, as does P3.
Oops, I got carried away and forgot to add an item....
According to the pictures on Amazon Persona 4 Golden requires a memory card as well as all the PS + games I would go with the 16GB or the 32GB. The 8GB will only hold a few of the PS+ games. I can only get Uncharted Gravity Rush and PS All Stars on my 8GB before the vita starts telling me I'm low on space
It actually is getting an English release (the PS Vita remake) next february. You can preorder it on Amazon.
Dangan Ronpa 2 Goodbye Despair is 25% off until dec 6th
buy the game on vita

(That's a placeholder release date)
Anyone else who hasn't gotten it, World of Final Fantasy is 50% off MSRP on Amazon right now.
It isn't.
I'm seeing $73 Canadian for the vita version
He can be!
Steins;Gate is already $29.99 from Amazon, but they are out of stock at the moment. Probably sold out from the recent sale when it was listed at $19.99.

Don't know if amazon uk is a viable option for you, but it quite cheap there at the moment, link
"Format: NTSC-J (Asian)"
It will probably not support English. But it will work.
You should be able to score it cheaper online but you need to get a EU, US, AU version.
http://www.amazon.com/Disgaea-3-Absence-Detention-playstation-vita/dp/B006FRMVIQ/
This is 24 pound, but they will probably add something for delivery.

Sorry mate, only standard editions.
Sorry about that typed that incorrectly (keyboard didn't process the other 2, still kinda cheap). http://www.amazon.com/Steins-Gate-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B011ERY5IA
I got mine at Wal-Mart, it was $12. It's a Sony ps vita pouch. It hold 4 games (8 back to back), cables and charging box, and the vita itself. It has a separator down the middle to avoid any damage towards the vita from the stuff inside. It has two smaller pouches on the inside, one which I used to hold my sd cards before buying a 64gb, and the other I still use for a screen cleaner that came with a screen protector I bought separately.
The one I bought:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006PP41Q8/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1450675207&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=Sony+ps+vita+pouch&dpPl=1&dpID=31PUNVLFK2L&ref=plSrch
A more expensive option (with more stuff)(i got my screen protector and other stuff from this set, but use the pouch for carrying everything):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006PP4136/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1450675207&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=Sony+ps+vita+pouch&dpPl=1&dpID=41EVY4wCi4L&ref=plSrch
Just get it from amazon. It was a very limited title. Sound out everywere for me also.

Get the $250 AC bundle.
If you have Prime, it's $249.99 with free shipping and no tax (depending on your state). Fuck, I want a white Vita...
