34. JVCC REF-7 Engineering Grade Reflective Tape: 1 in. x 30 ft. (Silver-White)

    Features:
  • JVCC REF-7 Engineering Grade Reflective Tape is used for safety applications as well as entertainment industry use as spike tape or "daytime" glow tape. Reflective Tape is primarily designed for permanent and temporary traffic signage and features an enclosed lens retroreflective urethane film coated with a permanent acrylic adhesive.
  • Application surface should be flat (not curved or tubular). Also, it is not designed to adhere to unpainted stainless steel surfaces. JVCC REF-7 may be screen printed, guillotine cut, die-cut, or thermal kiss-cut. The adhesive has a dwell time of 24 hours but reaches 75% of its adhesiveness after 15 minutes.
  • Photos of REF-7 are taken with a flash camera in order to show the reflectivity of the tape; the colors of the tape will be much darker if a high-intensity light source (like the flash from a camera or car headlights) are not being directed at the tape. The colors in order of reflectivity are: white, yellow, orange, green, red, blue (white is around 15 times more reflective than blue).
  • Certifications: LS-300C (Reflectivty 1 Class 1), FP-85 (Type II), ASTM D4956-94 (Type 1). Carrier/Backing: enclosed lens retroreflective urethane film. Adhesive: acrylic. Adhesion: 50 ounces per inch (to stainless steel test panel).

36. Oralite (Reflexite) V92-DB-COLORS Microprismatic Conspicuity Tape: 2 in x 15 ft. (Green)

    Features:
  • Oralite V92 Daybright Colors Microprismatic Retroreflective Conspicuity Tape is prismatic conspicuity material available in a variety of colors including red, white, blue, green, orange and gold. Photos of V92-DB are taken with a flash camera in order to show the reflectivity of the tape; the colors of the tape will be much darker if a high-intensity light source (like the flash from a camera or car headlights) are not being directed at the tape.
  • Oralite is the Oracal Group's new brand name for Reflexite. The thin, flexible sheeting has a unique appearance featuring a printed triangular white line pattern. V92 Daybright Colors will enhance the visibility of any police, fire or EMS vehicle. It provides superior visibility and conspicuity to oncoming motorists which results in improved safety and image.
  • UV and solvent resistant coatings ensure durability which allows for rugged outdoor use on the sides and rear of tow trucks, trailers, school buses, farm equipment, automobiles and all types of mobile and industrial equipment. u/slashbored covered the bulk of the options, for sure. I'll underline that each game will likely want something slightly different. At least for maximum efficiency, there isn't a one size fits all so counting 12 games and buying 12 Planos may not be the best idea.

Considering the setup, play, and clean-up processes and looking to eliminate time bottlenecks will help guide you. For example, multi-section Plano style boxes are really cool...for some things. But keeping 5 denominations of coins all in separate compartments adds a lot of clean-up time when players (or you) have to re-sort the huge pile of individual coins used throughout the game back into their individual sections. In that case, it's easier to shift all that time to the players, a few seconds here and there fishing their change out from a mixed bowl or two through out the game and reduce the clean-up to just seconds of dumping the bowl into a single ziploc.

On the other extreme, searching for one or two chits of a particular unit type in a whole pile of chits (of many unit types) is silly; multi-section boxes or GMT style counter trays are definitely the way to go.

I'd recommend must haves as:

  • set of silicon muffin cups or small condiment cups or dishes to hold bits during play

  • 6-12 single section tupperware style boxes in the 2-3" range (store all the pieces for a single player in one, pass out, play, clean-up easy-peasy)

  • 25-50 small ziplocs in two sizes, ~3x4" and ~1x2"

Other options for organization during play (links for example, rather than specific product recommendations):

  • lazy suzans or make-up caddies

  • card stands or business card holders

  • dice trays

    Inside the box:

  • alternative to Plano, off-brand bead and jewelry organizers are often thinner, lighter plastic in a greater variety of dimensions for more options and easier to fit in game boxes

  • Deck boxes, also available in several other sizes

  • Dry Vinyl Tape, only sticks to itself. Good alternative to deck boxes and really great for large tiles and map pieces, etc.

You'll find most if you look for "reflective green tape". Most types have a sort of diamond pattern on the tape. I'm guessing this would do: http://www.amazon.com/TapeCase-3277-Green-Reflective-Tape/dp/B007Y7HWMQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1453386782&sr=8-2&keywords=reflective+green+tape
This one will most likely work too (better at closerange, worse at distance): http://www.amazon.com/TapeCase-3437-Green-Reflective-Tape/dp/B007Y7IRSY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1453386782&sr=8-3&keywords=reflective+green+tape
Don't get the tape that appears to be very lightgreen. Darker green is better. In my limited testing with tapes, without a diamond pattern works better for closerange, but this isn't conclusive and with some adjustment might even work well at large distances. I've improved a lot in the algorithms as well; if you like to test get without diamond pattern as secondary.
Alternatively, get a green light filter, put it over the flash and use plain white/silver reflective material (I've got similar materials in small localshops. The filter you get at officesupplies, the grey/white/silver reflective material from a $5 safety vest or just as tape):
Sample of safety vest; it's not tape but works: http://www.amazon.com/Neiko-Visibility-Yellow-Zipper-Reflective/dp/B0030AA3YK/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1453387694&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=safety+vest&psc=1
http://www.amazon.com/Reflexite-Brand-Conspicuity-Tape-Diamond/dp/B00LGYS57Y/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1453387424&sr=8-8&keywords=reflective+tape
http://www.amazon.com/Transparent-Colored-Window-Film-Sample/dp/B00ORVX4RO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1453387525&sr=8-3&keywords=green+transparent+film
Don't spend more than a few bucks on the material unless you verified that it works well. It's really all cheap stuff, but people tend to overprice and sell it bulk. A good way to test if the stuff works in store, is to load the apk on your phone and see if it tracks the marker in the store. If you're not shy of compiling, compile the apk with SHOW_CAMERA set to false in Config.java for a good debugging view of reflectivity.
Edit: Also, if you're testing in store, check for return angles. This means if you view at an angle of 45 degrees, see if that works well and so on.

These grow dinosaurs or Cosmo beads so they can "create" things, or this spit ball science kit! This Science gift wrap would be cute for presents, these hand boilers would be cool for amusement purposes, and maybe some Caution Tape for decoration?

I'd like these earring display cards if I win! Thanks for the contest! Good luck with the party!

u/77ticktock · 3 pointsr/gundeals

Don't get me wrong I love Talon grips just as much as the next person but the cost of replacement if some of it gets mangled by a holster, sweat, clothing, etc. can be a bit of a debbie downer.

As an alternative I bought a roll of anti-slip grip tape and have thoroughly enjoyed the ability to remove and apply a fresh grip + change things up to ensure I'm totally satisfied with the areas of coverage. Costs a few dollars more than today's cyber monday sale but it's not a one-time use ordeal.

For those interested, the exact tape I've been using (same roll with over a dozen reapplications since August of 2014 mind you) can be found here. This amount of grip isn't for those with baby soft hands but give this or another type of DIY roll tape solution a consideration sometime.

u/treehause · 4 pointsr/marijuanaenthusiasts

Standing them up is totally possible. If what you're looking for here is their ultimate viability, that's also a equally valid question. If you select ones with minimal root ball disintegration, they will be the ones most likely to survive.

I'm of the school of thought that planting a maladapted, non-native is often a losing proposition. This is a pretty good example. Casuarina as a species can generally grow to heights that are inappropriate for sandy soils subject to high winds. If you are ever given an opportunity and very likely a grant, you could rehab this place with native plants suitable for an ecological niche called Mesic Rockland Hammock, Tropical Hammock Flatland with limestone substrate -- No, I swear I did not make that up. Anyway, that's just pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking; enough of that. Here's how to fix the problem at hand.

  • Get some appropriate tools like a chainsaw and a couple of machetes, you're also going to need two colors of flagging tape

  • Select the trees that look like their roots were disturbed the least and whose tops were not broken. Tie a piece of flagging tape on these that signifies a good tree -- maybe use florescent green tape for these.

  • Now, select all the trees that are clearly beyond salvage;mark these trees with red florescent tape. What you are looking for in these bad trees is the ability to make polls -- you will need two polls for each good tree you are going to save.

  • Cut the bad trees down as close to the root color as practical (this is a bike path so you don't want a lot of stumps I assume), trim off all the branches and cut them to 6'-7' lengths. Ideally, you want the polls to be about as thick around as baseball bat, much thicker will be too hard to work with, and much thinner won't be strong enough

  • Using the machete very carefully, sharpen one end of the poll so that it can be easily driven into the ground.

  • Use the techniques described in this video for staking newly transplanted trees.

A motivated crew of a half dozen people could probably stake a couple of hundred trees over a weekend. Planting trees is a selfless gift to future generations. You are a Mensch I hope this helped.

u/StrategicPotato · 4 pointsr/MouseReview

No, not really. But I do hope that this grip tape helps with sweaty hands! I don't have very sweaty hands in particular, but by PC room gets hot AF during the summer months (and these heat waves aren't helping). Also, the rubberized coating on both of these mice is starting to wear through in the places where my fingertips rest. So this is primarily a preventative measure/repair job above all else. This in not an attempt to improve performance, but I guess we'll see what happens anyway! I tried my best to make it look decent (and I think it actually came out rather nice!) but I'd like to hear other's opinions.

(More pics - Logitech G900 and Logitech G403)

(Gun/grip Tape!)

Edit: r/MouseReview appears to be a tough crowd to please huh?

u/saraloverock · 3 pointsr/AmItheAsshole

NAH but you guys have each paid minimum of $85 each just to watch a movie in relative quiet, (but there will still be other people in the room), you must really like this movie to take it so very seriously....it seems like there are better things you could’ve spent the cash on, but it’s your cash to do with as you please.

Since you’ve gone this far, why not take it a bit further & make reserved seat signs, and take some cordon tape to put around the seats so it’s very clear they’re taken.

u/DougCim53 · 1 pointr/arduino

It would be possible to build this, but let us divert for a moment and talk about some practicalities involved.

The first concern would be to have decent reflectors, since cars and motorcycles already have powerful headlights and the visibility of a reflector is proportional to the power of the light shining on it. From any distance you would care to compare at, a good reflector will be much more visible to an oncoming car than a few LEDs (operated off of a typical small battery) will be. The only times your blinking LEDs will really matter is if you encounter someone with no headlights, such as a pedestrian or a bicyclist with no headlight.

Places like Wal-Mart sell "trailer reflective tape" that has alternating sections of red and silver strips. https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Reflective-reflective-trailers-reflectors/dp/B077W45QS1 (this pack is kinda big, but they sell smaller pieces too) --You use silver for the front-facing or side-facing reflectors, and red for rear-facing reflectors. Peel the backing off and stick two pieces of the same color together, cut it to size and make a hole to hang it by. It's cheap to make, weighs almost nothing and works well as long as it stays clean.

As far as making a brake light (presumably for a bicycle),,, getting anything to work like a car (off of the actual brake activation) is really rather complicated and involves connecting a switch somehow to the brake lever or somewhere along the brake cable. There are cheap tiny ones now from China that you could modify to work much better-- https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33009185886.html? -- this thing is a switch that rides on a brake cable, but it only uses a button cell to light up one tiny 5mm LED. What you could do is buy this thing and then just use the switch part of it to activate a larger, brighter brake light. The question is how durable the switch will turn out to be in rain or snow.

Another possible method is this: there have been cheaper bicycle lights that had a "brake light" that was activated by a ball switch that would be turned on by the force of the bicycle slowing down. This doesn't stay on when you are stopped, but then it is much less complicated than using any accelerometer, and the accelerometer won't stay on when you are stopped either.

I am awesome at starting fires

...

at a campsite in the rain/inclement weather. No proof but I do a very good job! Speaking of! This would be great for trailblazing.

u/atetuna · 1 pointr/HumansBeingBros

Good reflective tape like SOLAS and V92 are expensive. I've used both, and they stick very well, sometimes too well. Then there's cheap stuff like this, and reviewers are saying it doesn't stick well.

u/OpusThePenguin · 1 pointr/motorcycles

You can buy 3M tape and put it wherever you want. I have a little on my fenders and saddle bags. It doesn't go around corners very well though.

Taylor 33 is often highly reviewed for being super bright. I plan on getting rim tape from here when I get my next bike.

u/owlpellet · 2 pointsr/bicycling

For car safety, I've found that retro-relective tape stripes on tubes and helmet is very good viz, cheap and looks good after several years of daily use.

http://www.amazon.com/TapeCase-3290-White-Reflective-Tape/dp/B007Y7HYCE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1427303916&sr=8-4&keywords=reflective+tape

u/HamburgerChic · 2 pointsr/ArticulatedPlastic

Seems like a fun project! If it were me, I would use Mego figures, and use white shirt, white pants, and yellow boots from http://www.classictvtoys.com. You might be able to modify a motorcycle helmet from that site too for the hard hat, or I saw on another site there's a construction worker pez dispenser with a hardhat that might work. Then add the details with some reflective yellow tape like this: https://www.amazon.com/Yellow-DOT-C2-Conspiciuity-Reflective-Multiple/dp/B078XQHF3P/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549303607&sr=8-3&keywords=yellow+reflective+tape

thanks! I used this stuff for the frame and lightweights reflector tape for the wheels.

The tape is super adhesive and reflective. Here is a picture without the flash.

u/Steltek · 1 pointr/bikecommuting

My first bike used Scotchlite tape but I found it kinda sucks for the money/effort. On the next bike, I used this stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Incom-RE181-24-Inch-Fluorescent-Reflective/dp/B004BDP0KW/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_text_y

It's expensive but super bright. The tape is too stiff to wrap parallel to bike tubes, so plan accordingly. The stiffness comes from the tape really being a laminate of plastic prisms+color+tape+outer protective layer.

u/baldylox · 1 pointr/goats

You can put strips of those adhesive grips for stairs on top of stuff:

https://www.amazon.com/KwikSafety-Traction-Industry-Anti-Slip-Anti-Skid/dp/B00W0VUYAS

I've done that with some stuff I made. It's also really good at keeping their little hooves down. ;-)

Glad it's holding up! We raise fainting goats, and we have one Boer goat. The Boer - she loves to destroy stuff, and 20 or so fainting goats playing does a lot of damage.

u/DerpMods · 2 pointsr/Nerf

Yep, the red looks out of place. Add a little bit more somewhere for balance. As for the orange tip, "fuck da po-leze." That's what flagging tape is for. ;)

Still, great job for a first run. :)

u/VirtualSteak · 2 pointsr/Archery

Those kinds of rests will rattle, simply a by-product on their design.

If you want to make it quieter the easiest way is to grab a small sticky felt pad and stick it on the riser, so that when you shoot it hits the pad instead of the metal. Something like this would do just fine, you'd only need to use a tiny amount.

Just make sure it doesn't affect the movement of the rest.

u/ktvl0akc8ragax1yxsrq · 3 pointsr/bikewrench

I've got a roll of this reflective tape for my commuter, and have been quite pleased with it.

u/MeccIt · 2 pointsr/bicycling

Alongside active lights, passive Retro-reflective tape - buy a roll and stick it inside the wheel rims and along every low tube of the trailer. It will pop and light up for any car with their headlamps on.

u/spleenmuncher · 3 pointsr/boardgames

Bondage tape is correct, but it's more less commonly known as dry vinyl tape. The stuff labeled as bondage tape usually has a bit of a mark up on the price.
