I don't think I need convincing to do much really..... But I had a friend into pole dance/fitness who went to lessons as a hobby and she told me how fun it was and an amazing way to keep fit. I was dubious at first but I went along with her and absolutely loved it!

Could I be cheeky and ask for two things (the combined price being £12.11, which is $18.33) if I win? Being this and this.

I don't think I need to point out why that first one is awesome. It's a giraffe and it's frickin' adorable. ♥ ♥ And the second, because they're cute and feed my love of Alice in Wonderland and jewelry!

I think the most Classic Christmasy basket would be the 12 days of Christmas! Obviously it wouldn't make sense to get 4 calling birds and 5 gold rings, but I do think it'd be really cute to continue with the ascending order theme!

Happiness is required in life

1. My 4 year old daughter - nothing on this plan makes me feel happier than watching her run and laugh and giggle and learn and smile and hugs!
   
   
2. My 12 year old stepdaughter - because I have dealt with other kiddos and she is genuinely sweet and loving girl who tries sometimes too hart to please others. I love watching her learn and grown into a kind and sweet woman.
   
   
3. The fact that I am able to go to college and get a better education, that my family was willing to live in situation poverty while I did this so we could have a better life in the future. It is a real priviledge to be able to go to school.
   
   
4. This is going to sound corny - but the fact that I have found this place and the wonderful friends I have made here. I look forward to getting up and checking the mail because of here, I look forward to popping in and hearing what is going on the lives of people here. It is nice to feel like I am part of more than just my family.
   
   Oh and my new thing - I am sucking it up and heading into a psychologist and finding out if I am on the autism spectrum, or if it is something else. I go in on the 7th and I am pretty nervous about it.

I have been picturing a vintage circus nursery for the past four years and I couldn’t be happier to have finally gotten my chance to make it a reality! We’re first time parents on “Team Green” and wanted a gender neutral space that could be used for more children in the future, should we be so fortunate.

After falling in love with The Greatest Showman, I decided to work in some distinct references to the movie— the crib is Jenny Lind style, the poster is a reproduction from the “hammer song” in the movie, the ceiling light fixture is inspired by the ropes scene and “Rewrite the Stars” song, alphabet blocks spell “A Million Dreams Are Keeping Me Awake” and—of course—a spinning lamp that sends light patterns swirling. Most everything are hand-me-downs or purchased off Craigslist, with lots of custom sewing projects by my Mom. It’s a total (and colorful) contrast from the jaw-droppingly gorgeous modern, neutral-colored nurseries that are popular right now…but it’s exactly what I’ve always wanted <3.

Sentimental/Homemade favorites:

1. Red and white stripe wall – What’s a circus room without some stripes? Our walls were textured and I knew I’d never be able to get the lines crisp and perfect with paint…so we ordered some outdoor-weight canvas, sewed three long panels together, and wrapped it around a wooden frame before securing to the wall. A swoopy red valance with yellow tassels was the cherry on top! All fabrics were tested and sprayed with flame retardant prior to hanging.
   
2. Circus Car Bookshelf – See album for the before and after on this! I had spotted an old hutch on Craigslist for $20 and could just picture it as a circus car. Added some red and gold paint, wheels and decals and the transformation was complete! Bolted to the wall (of course) and filled with all grabbable, playable things.
   
3. Curtain and valance – A simple sewing project by my Momma, but I love how it ties everything together!
   
4. My Great Grandmother’s rocking chair – Passed down to me, with cushion and pillow sewn by my Momma.
   
5. Wooden carousel model and ceramic carousel horse – The working wooden carousel on the corner shelf was built by my husband’s German Grandfather back in the late 80s. The ceramic carousel horse on the set of three floating shelves was originally painted by my mom in an art class she took while pregnant with me! It was displayed in my bedroom all throughout childhood, and just received a fresh color scheme for its new life in the nursery. We have various family items incorporated all throughout our home, and the nursery is no different <3

In terms of something you can actually buy on amazon... marble runs and magnetic building sets are great if you don't already have them. Maybe a fossil dig set? Or these adorable plush dinos?

Books are always great too - in particular, this one is pretty incredible; you could also go with a more general dinosaur reference book like this or this; or a Spiderman story collection like this; or a fun set of beginning readers like this.

Allow me to take the shotgun approach, seeing as how you didn't give us much information about what she likes:

If she likes anime: Totoro is pretty cool or something a little more 'traditional'. Maybe buy her an anime series box set.

If she likes jewelry: Stuff from here or here

If she likes art: This is a great book or perhaps some designer toys? Also, art prints are fantastic too, though you will have to buy the print and frame it (fragile).

If she likes music: Buy her an album that she doesn't own. If she is an audiophile and uses a record player, than buy it in the form of an LP if possible.

Also, it is October and she is in Germany (i.e. Oktoberfest), so if she likes beer then buy her a German stein or something similarly themed.

I think you should do one prize of $25, because most of the contests held offer prizes ~$5 or ~$10... it's more unusual to get someone offering to spend $25 on someone in a contest so I think that would be best! Although it's nice to gift lots of people, you don't always get a chance to get the higher priced items on your list! I bought the cat from Amazon since I love Hiromu Takahashi from the New Japan Pro-Wrestling https://www.amazon.com/Has-cat-plush-bigeye-thresher/dp/B01M02Z3LI (they're pretty pricey but if live in LA you can find them in an anime/Japanese store easily. it's totally worth it for me because John was right they are pretty soft.)

There's a lot of factors in play with the cost. First is that a lot of furries work in IT and make a lot of money. Second is that the furry fandom very strongly believes in paying artists a fair wage. A plushie at Target could be sold for $15, but it was made in a factory in China by people who are paid pennies per hour. The plush that was lost was a one-of-a-kind item, no doubt hand-sewn, and probably took special designing to translate a fursuit design into a small plush. Factor in materials and time spent making it, and that jacks the price up further. Compare to very high-quality plush toys carried by retailers and $300 is pretty industry standard. Here's a moose plush that's over $100. And here's a giraffe that's over $1000.

As an artist myself, I love furries. I know a lot of friends who are able to pay rent making art because furries are so good to the artist community.

When I was in a relationship a few years ago, we had a whole slew of animals we traded back and forth when we did the long distance thing. There were about 8 that we had split up.. and 2 of them were larger sizes.. a stuffed penguin and a Squirtle about the size of a 1 year old. Big enough to cuddle with and not get lost in blankets. It was nice, because after we visited eachother, we would trade and they would smell like eachother.. (hers smelt like nice perfume, I have no idea what mine was like). After we broke up, she kept the half she had and threw them out, which kinda sucked..


I still have my half in the recliner in my room. Ive thought about sleeping with them every once in a while, but the Squirtle is too fragile at this point.

After we took him out of the box with my daughters, I expected it to hop up and sprint away down the street with a fingerless fist raised in victory. My daughter tries to hug the bear and she gets trapped in a serpentine mass of bear legs. She won't keep it in her room anymore because her friends won't visit because of the nightmares. Joyfay should sell some sort of amputation and patch kit for parents that want a more desirable short legged bear.
