I'm pretty sure I've seen her wondering around the park with one of those leg scooter things.
Like this: https://www.amazon.com/KneeRover-Steerable-Scooter-Crutches-Alternative/dp/B006G0M77C

My guess is she's still there, just on the 60-day DL.

u/quitlookingatyerlabs · 2 pointsr/AskDocs

Perhaps look into something like this: https://www.amazon.com/KneeRover-Steerable-Scooter-Crutches-Alternative/dp/B006G0M77C?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_1

Or just to practice with the crutches. Most people aren't going to be good with them immediately.

u/ihadacowman · 23 pointsr/bestoflegaladvice

Here’s a well rated one on Amazon for $55. I rigged a cup holder onto my mother-in-law’s.

Edit: here - Healthcare Direct 100RA Steel Rollator Walker with 350 lb. Weight Capacity, Burgundy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KA92SJ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_6dx1AbF6YFHGP

Thanks

I'm sorry I'm in the US so I'm not sure how much help I can be. A lady at work had a push scooter sort of thing after having hip replacement surgery, is this what you're looking for?

Is there anywhere near you where you might find one used? I don't believe I've ever seen one other than the one my coworker had but maybe try calling around to thrift stores. Or if you have a community closet (sometimes churches have them) call and see if there's one among the crutches and walkers and wheelchairs that someone has donated.

u/NerdfighterEngineer · 2 pointsr/rheumatoid

You could use an arm crutch, it would avoid pressure on the hands and wrists, but there would still be some on the shoulders.

They have them here on Earth too.

We have a used knee scooter that we could part with. My wife used it for a leg injury and it worked well for her.

This one, no. If I were going to be using one for months, I'd get this one.

u/CannibalVegan · 6 pointsr/army

I can neither confirm nor deny that a scooter parking lot exists within the security area just inside the metro entrance. These bad boys are also seen at least once or twice daily.

u/blackesthearted · 17 pointsr/AskWomen

Favorite is probably the rollator (a walker with wheels and a seat with a basket under the seat) I got for my mom. Less than $60 shipped and she uses it all the time and ditched her walker.

Least favorite is probably any of the crappy Bluetooth headphones I bought because they were cheap and had good reviews; turns out most of those reviews were compensated and the headphones sucked. Finally found some with actual, legitimate good reviews but I went through a lot of crappy pairs first.

ETA: Was on mobile so didn't link at the time, but this is the rollator I bought, and these are the headphones I went with. (On a semi-related note, if anyone has any recs for in-ear BT buds/phones around $100 or so I'd be very interested! :D)

u/NerdimusSupreme · 6 pointsr/disability

Seriously, screw what others think, pain sucks and if one of those help you then do it.

I personally own an upwalker https://www.amazon.com/UPWalker-Mobility-Stand-Walking-Aid/dp/B077S7XC6W/

I also use a normal wheelchair for extended outings.

u/MadLintElf · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Buy or rent a broken foot scooter, they make getting around so much easier (I hate crutches and even with a walking cast it's a pain).

The scooters work great, you can kneel on your broken foot and scoot along. You can also sit and keep your foot elevated when stationary.

u/jessupfoundgod · 1 pointr/gout

I used to do crutches until discovering this thing: https://www.amazon.com/KneeRover-Economy-Scooter-Steerable-Alternative/dp/B01H0S9AXM/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=rolling+crutches&qid=1565028147&s=gateway&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sr=8-4

Freaking life saver. I have to walk a lot at work so crutches were just not a realistic option not to mention the bruised palms and armpits. It's worth the money, get one. Hell, I'm using it right now.

u/ThatsSoBravens · 2 pointsr/nfl

> Wife breaks her foot at the gym!

Oh man, I feel so bad for her. I broke my foot and leg last month and it's been a goddamned nightmare.

Consider getting a knee scooter, they're light years better than the no doubt shitty crutches she'll get. Just watch out for hills.

EDIT: If you have an HD/HP and/or an HSA, this is a medical device and you can spend HSA funds on it.
