^ this stuff is amazing. It's essentially a dye and will not wash off. I used on my faded to shit carbon bits as well as some plastic parts on old car - it's back to black Jesus in a bottle.

Yes - multiple coats of plastidip will do that - you can paint it on or dip it. Or it also comes in a spray can but you won't achieve as thick of a coat as with the stuff that comes in a can (or bucket)

So this looks like what I want. So how would I go about this? take some 400 grit sand paper to the current white, mix the acrylic urethane together and just spray? I see this stuff about hardener and reducer with this kit.

To prevent it? Using wax in your car washes. Either wax manually, or when you get an automated car wash (if you do that), then get the "premium" option that has wax with it.

Automotive rust inhibitor paint and then a top coat color of your choice. Those dont look like hinges to me.

It happens to be silver, so that's why I was wondering. Spray paint will do little unless the material was prepped and rust killed before. As with everything galvanic corosion it's best to stop the electrolyte from touching the metal or properly coat it. Spray isn't the best for that application.

I will stand by rust bullet and it's used in lots of military vehicles.

I got mine via amason. A quart should be plenty. A gallon is $95 if you wanna go crazy and do the whole chassis.

I used this for my 2009 Zuma 125 which had very bad faded black plastic. It works wonders.
