(Haven't ordered any of these myself, but you get the idea. It wouldn't be particularly hard for a team concerned about camouflage to make their robot hard to photograph for later analysis of particulars.)
Oh, and Winding Road Magazine did this to a Corvette as a trolling job. Good inspiration for red herrings--some vinyl, cardboard, styrofoam, or scrap material could totally do the job: https://www.germancarforum.com/threads/winding-road-fakes-corvette-ss-pics.8389/
what happened is i had a good friend move out west to live with his buddy who owns a vinyl wrapping company. he worked on a lot of cars out there and brought up the idea to me about wrapping mine for free, just the cost of materials......so he could get some more hands on experience. i decided it was a cool idea to do since i was hit, and had to have the front fender/hood/driver side door repainted and i could always see a slight difference in the paint colors. also the vinyl color we used is this
these pictures are from last summer, and over the past year the vinyl has rusted bad (you can see where it's starting in the first picture over the taillight along the back window) so the vinyl will be coming over very soon. i'm pretty bummed on the company marketing it as car vinyl considering how it rusted from where any water sat. buyer beware i guess!
Looks great! Just FYI, looks like an Amazon seller used your pic. https://www.amazon.com/1999-2004-American-Window-Compatible-Cherokee/dp/B07VRPV17C/ref=sr_1_195?keywords=Jeep%2BGrand%2BCherokee%2Bvinyl&qid=1565798256&s=gateway&sr=8-195&th=1
The brown dash and the black interior always irked me but I really liked the natural eco-friendly look of the wood.
I had considered a carbon fiber wrap, but heard it was blinding in harsh sunlight which there is a lot of in Texas.
So I looked for a realistic black wood wrap which I found at:
https://www.amazon.com/VViViD-Black-Textured-Air-release-Adhesive/dp/B01M0QFLZW
And then followed this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQmd98NhNq0
Took about 30 mins to install and I'm loving it
Yeah I did it my self, you need a heat gun basic tools and I used windex and a micro fiber cloth to clean the trim really well before wrapping it so it sticks well. Heres a video on doing the center console I found helpful.
https://youtu.be/31fxHVhDRCI
This is the exact vinyl I used too.

Sure...link below. You may want to order just a small sample square first to make sure you're happy with the match. It's not exactly the same color, but pretty darn close.

I ordered the cheapest, roundest glasses I could find online and bent the wires to get it as close to my face as possible.
Then added privacy film to the inside (VViViD One-Way Perforated Black Vinyl Privacy Window Film Adhesive Glass Wrap Roll (.5ft x 48") https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01INJXEK2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MuvXCbBB8PNVT ) I used two layers off center from each other, which covers a bit more and has a neat tessellation. I blacked out the area around my eyes to make it look darker and reduce glare.
Used poly plastic and added an edge around the glasses and a little extra on the sides to fill in the gap between the glasses and my face.
The button holes are oil based sharpie. I can’t make anything symmetrical, so it took a million tries before I got something I’m ok with. The good news is it comes off the lenses with rubbing alcohol.
That is awesome. I got to test drive a space grey but I could not find another in manual, I looked for over a month until i settled on a lake silver a few hours out of town but its really grown on me .

I think this is what I ordered but the fully black might look good on the space grey to. Taking apart the light under the spoiler thing can be a bit of a nightmare though.
This is the vinyl I used. 3M 1080 Matte White Air-Release... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSH6TU4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Only took about an hour with a xacto knife. Was super easy and doesn’t affect my thermals at all!
We had this problem when I was a kid. My father planted sage brush. That was our local desert plant, you might be better off with some kind of succulent, there are some beautiful succulents out there. :)
Edit: If money is no problem you can have the window removed and put back in place with some shims at the bottom to change the angle of repose - so to speak. Less expensive is the application of perforated one way vision window film the stuff they use for advertising on busses and store fronts.
Use these magnets to help you out. Works great for solo wrapping.
I used vinyl wrap. It took a whole 10 minutes to do after the grilles were out. I also wrapped the mirrors and interior trim with the carbon fiber wrap. This is the stuff I used. Super easy to work with.
Red Gloss 60" x 1ft Car Wrap Vinyl Roll with Air Release 3MIL-VViViD8 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L9J2NPG?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
I'd like to wrap the fiberglass top of my Eurovan Camper in silver chrome. Paint is smooth and cleans up nice and I'll have JUST enough width out of a 60" piece that I could do it all w/ this: http://www.amazon.com/Silver-adhesive-release-Air-Free-3MIL-VViViD8/dp/B00L9J5K2Y/ref=sr_1_3?srs=9167379011&ie=UTF8&qid=1456880725&sr=8-3&keywords=silver+chrome
What do you think? Big piece is a fairly easy shape, right? Where on the smaller front piece should I start to manage that big depression?
edit: Also, can I wrap the relatively sharp corners w/o special cuts, just heat and stretch?
Wrapped it with this:
3M Scotchprint Wrap Film 1080 Series Brushed Black Metallic BR-212 60"x12
Took some time but totally worth it. Didn't even sand down the logo, looks good.
Nice! Mine's similar but I used all spare pieces of timber so I'm about to "carbon wrap" with this stuff rather than paint it. :)

In total it’s $30 and changed all shipped
I also used rubbing alcohol, a microfiber towel, and a heat gun (hairdryer works) and a flathead screwdriver time pop out the license plate lights.
Super easy took me about 1:30-2 hours to wrap since it was my first time every wrapping anything. And the bulbs took literally 1 min each
I pulled up my old post and [here](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0070Y36FK/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
) was the link to the vinyl I used. 2 years later and I still have plenty left over that works perfect. As for tips just make sure you leave extra hanging over the edges so you can wrap it around to the back side, and use heat when wrapping it around corners. The heat lets the vinyl loosen up and flex in ways that are typically difficult. Also helps to take your time and do it right the first time!
It was $3 shipped for a 1x5 foot roll on Amazon.
Black True R Carbon Fiber 5ft x 1ft Vinyl Wrap Roll with Air Release Technology https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FXYG1VU/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awd_d_.wdyxbBRWQDRB
You can find yellow headlight vinyl, normally used to give that euro look but it’ll warm up the lights.
Edit: Amazon Link
Supplies:
Acrylic sheet
Carbon Fiber Vinyl
Just cut a square piece of acrylic by scoring it with a razor blade and snapping it, and heat it up to bend one side into a 90 degree angle so it wraps around the PSU connector on the left side. First prototype one.
Once you have measurements right and it fits, just wrap it in vinyl of your choice, slap a piece of double sided tape on it, and stick it to your PSU. Total cost is about $15 and half an hour. Much easier than making a custom 24pin cable.
Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008BLFHS0/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got this off amazon for cheap. I have quite a bit left over too.
I think this is what I used. I put it on my brights, and I don't think there is that much light lost from it. I actually kinda like how it projects on the road.

Also, the lightbulbs twist a third of the way around to pop out from the housing. I figured that out when I took the whole thing from the front end.

I'm using "Ehdis" - I think that's a generic brand?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HEQF2CI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They don't have any felt on the bottom, just a piece of plastic.
Only $10 to look crap-tacularly tacky!
Blue seems to effect the human eye more, so I would think an amber color film
should do the trick. I have been planning on it for a while now but just haven't had the time vs my other projects.
