These gear cufflinks are pretty awesome. But, unless he got a job that requires formal dress, he probably won't get to use them much.

You could also get him a nice watch. I don't know how much you're wanting to spend, but Invicta watches are usually high quality, with relatively low prices (compared to brands like Rolex). You could also get him a smart watch, but I haven't been impressed with any of those yet. I'd wait until a better one is released.

If he's been living on campus, you could get him some house-type gifts for his new apartment.

If he's a hairy man, you could get him either a nice shaving kit or beard-grooming kit, depending on whether he likes the hair or not.

You could also get him a puppy, although, that's more of a responsibility than a gift.

I just bought myself an awesome messenger bag/brief case. This bag is amazing in every way. It is massive (designed to carry 17-inch laptops with a few books), which means there is no doubt that this is a masculine bag. I'm 6'4", 240 pounds, so it took me a long time to find a bag that didn't look like a purse on me. This one is awesome. It's also real, high quality leather.

Edit:
If you have anymore information about him, let me know. I like picking out gifts :)

I just got the LL Bean Sportsman's Rucksack in navy at the beginning of the summer for hauling all my shit to work, which is coincidentally also school since I work in a university lab :P When I was looking for a new backpack, I wanted it to have a zipper (no snaps or drawstring) and have a front pocket big enough for my lunch and side pockets for water bottle or umbrella.

Here's a pic of me wearing it. It's not full there but it doesn't look too different when I put things in it unless I'm stuffing it to the brim. Basically, I love it because it has all the pockets I could ever want for everything and can fit my laptop + notebooks + lunch + umbrella + water bottle + extra sweater + a bunch of other knickknacks. The pocket on the side is perfect for my laptop charger. Aaaaand bonus points for actually being a bit stylish with the leather bottom and trim :)

I used to use a military-style canvas bag that I got on Amazon for like ~$35 and while it held up for 1.5 years, it was definitely looking a little worse for wear and wasn't too comfortable when I loaded it with stuff. This LL bean backpack has nicely padded straps so it doesn't hurt my shoulders when full and the nylon feels very nice and sturdy. Before that, when I lived on campus and didn't have to haul my life to school for a full day of classes, I used this SwissGear laptop tote for 2 years. It's still going strong and I still pull it out when I only have a light load to carry around.

Everki Urbenite

Not a briefcase but this is a very compact messenger bag with lots of pockets to carry everything. I have been using it since 2016 to carry my X1C3 and now T480s, it's the best. It has a separate compartment for the laptop with padded protection. Also it is super high quality.

I also have both Everki flight and Everki Titan. For a 14 inch laptop I think Everki flight is a good choice. But the Titan is an overkill because it can carry a 17inch laptop on the designated compartment.

I am not a big fan of briefcases type bags, but I can recommend this to you because I know how high quality these bags are.

Hope this helps

So this is a little bit of a weird suggestion. Its is a no-name brand so far as i know, but I LOVE mine. Most of the leather is surprisingly sturdy. The strap unclips easily if you dont want it, it has lots of pockets, has a slip on that back to easily attach it to a luggage handle, and two of the pockets are pretty well padded for laptops/tablets/etc.

Its honesty a little weird how often i get compliments on it. Probably not what you are looking for though.

I've had mine for 5 years, and its gotten daily use for the past 3.5. It looks pretty much brand new still. The only weak point is the leather wear strips/piping along the edges which seems a little less sturdy than it could be.

u/Laiverbird · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Navali bag is great. Compare price/stock on website. They offer coupons which will probably be your only difference. The black one is cheaper but you can try emailing them if you like the brown one better. I bought the brown one for around $120 on amazon. I gifted it to my brother one and I can assure you it comfortably fits everything that you mentioned. I recommend getting a snug laptop sleeve just so no dusts get in your mbp. Snugness is very important here. I have this and it fits the mbp really well. It also has a sleeve so you can put some paperworks in there if you want to ditch the bag at the desk while going to a meeting.

u/SpadeEpiphany · 4 pointsr/Triumph

The original post found here.
Original post's bag here.
The bag I used here here.

While I was looking for the least expensive version of this bag, I came across a different version of the bag that seemed to work better towards this purpose. The big difference being that the top strap on the bag I used comes off and doesn't have any brass buckling. It has 4 loops (two on the top and bottom) on the back of the bag, which made super quick work with 4 zip ties.

Also, the leg buckle it came with added perfect as a seat strap. Loving the look of having both of them on there.

I picked up this STM bag at my campus store but it seems unavailable on amazon

http://www.amazon.com/STM-Alley-Shoulder-Laptop-MacBook/dp/B007FTEO1A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408038138&sr=8-1&keywords=stm+13+bag

It is great for the 13" rMBP, iPad, pens, and small notebook. It will fit a charger but bulges with it. I prefer not to carry anything else as it is a slimmer bag. Works great for me but I like a small bag with only the basics

Here are some more pics from their website. It is similar to the Linear line from them but that one looks too small

I really like the Amazon Basics laptop bags. They fit nice, look pretty good, and they're cheap as a bonus.

Yeah, why not. I am actually just gonna send you my Clothing Optimization folder. I list out a couple clothing types although bags are clearly the winner. I like to try and live minimally.. or say essentially if possible.. or maybe im just thinking too much.

I updated some today as i realized that I had gotten a jean jacket and my Birkenstock died. This bag is prolly what imma get to fill the computer bag gap in my Bag Spread. This has become needed as I have moved from being a backpacker to a working backpacker. I have found the bag for less than half the price in Bangkok but not the color I want.

edit: wording

Edit 2: I found a totally different backpack in Bangkok that filled the same niche and seems better quality. It does not have as much style but seems to be a better fit anyways.

u/mmorton235 · 2 pointsr/DnD

Some options

  1. simple bag
  2. smaller bag
  3. Messenger bag, maybe not this one but look around they may work
  4. any backpack or canvas bag....option 2

edit made links work a little better

hope this helps, best of luck

It looks almost identical to my brown Casecrown messenger bag.

I have the Horizontal model, OP's might be the Vertical.

I really like my bag, I've had it for a year and it fits my office EDC gear great. I wanted a small messenger bag styled like a laptop bag, that doesn't look like a purse.

u/ondik05 · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I bought this bag last year. I work in IT and always have a corporate laptop iPad and iPhone plus ear buds and a 22k mah battery pack with a couple cables. I keep my nexus 6 in my pocket.

This bag is bigger than your needs most likely because I needed to fit a laptop, but I get compliments on it constantly and it is all I can recommend in the bag space. I paid more than the asking price is today and haven't regretted it one bit.

I just got this bag off of Amazon for $40ish and love it so far. I can carry all the books I want, then my marked PHB and current source book in the "lap top" compartment in the very back of the inside, as well as my initiative note book, game notes note book and spare pencil case. Also fits my power strip I use for the TV and Laptop power at the table, my dice bag in the front pocket and plenty of outside pockets for my mouse and laptop brick.

Then separately I also carry my laptop and a 30"ish tv for maps.

Deal going right now.. super crazy cheap, $8.49 if you go with Brown. Other colors vary in price. May work?

I ordered brown and figured it was worth the gamble. Hope it isn't shit.

u/neonlovie · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

Go with the Lulu, better to wear a low key bag. If you don't mind purchasing, I've recommended this bag before. It ships prime and is $35. Sorry for the ugly link (am on mobile). Have had it for about 10 months and love it. The organization is amazing and it's nylon, so low fuss.

I went looking for Messenger Bags last month, but couldn't find anything good in stores. I bought one from Amazon, and I'm quite happy with it:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B009J79EES

u/sideswiped · 1 pointr/photography

I'm currently using a Tenba Messanger bag to hold my 15" laptop and camera(D300 with 70-200mm, 17-50mm, & 50mm). I like it because it looks like a student's backpack and doesn't scream "photographers bag, expensive goodies inside".

Vashibhavin's comment is apt, it gets a bit heavy at times and I have to switch shoulders if I'm out and about for awhile. This becomes more of an issue when I ride my bike with it on.

This bag is fairly cheap, and has been pretty good for me. I'm a TA at a university.

It's big enough for my netbook and all the papers/folders I could need, and has pockets for other stuff. The only downside is that it's too small to put a sweater in if it gets hot, and it doesn't have a pocket for a water bottle.

u/dregan · 2 pointsr/mac

Oops sorry, it looks like they don't make it anymore. There might be some on eBay? It looks like this is similar.

u/speculates · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

The last trip I took was an 9 day (including travel time) trip to Hawaii for work. I didn't want to check any baggage so I took a Swissgear backpack (unsure of the model, I've had it for 8 years - highly recommended!) as my carry on and this purse as my personal item. It's just under the max personal item size, so the backpack held all my clothing, shoes, laptop and liquids and the purse held my DSLR, wallet, snacks, makeup, e-reader, etc. I also took a separate small crossbody purse to use as a purse while I was in Hawaii as I am also a lover of small crossbody purses.

u/BrokerChange · 1 pointr/gopro

Thanks man!

There a bunch of options, unfortunately nothing "perfect" one size fits all like this toiletry bag.

I use the [Tenba Messenger Bag] (http://www.amazon.com/Tenba-638-222-Small-Messenger-Olive/dp/B00110GARA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398723618&sr=8-1&keywords=tenba+messenger+bag) when I want to bring my DSLR into sketchy situations (like a third world country). It has an built in easy access pocket to pull out my camera quickly and put it back without opening the full flap exposing all of your goods. Unfortunately messengers hurt my shoulder after a few miles of walking especially if you use the laptop compartment.

If you prefer a backpack (I do), I love the North Face Surge II. I use the camera insert from the Tenba inside the main compartment and keep my DLSR safe in there. It does mean I have to take my backpack off to pull out my camera but my DSLR is usually in my hands when I'm taking photos anyway.

If this video reaches 500 views I might do reviews on both of those bags.

...it's more a very small bag than a sleeve, but I have the 15" version for my MBP and really like it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072L4R2DY/ref=twister_B071RQ7LHY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Non-mobile link. I wish Amazon didn't lock users in to the mobile site.

u/anotherjunkie · 3 pointsr/geek

Yeah! It was for me too for a long time, replacing the original bag of holding which didn’t have any structure or shape to it.

My health declined a few years ago and I needed to start carrying meds and stuff, so I upgraded to this. If you’re looking for something a bit bigger, I can’t recommend that one enough. It has literally been around the world with me, and I carry it every time I leave the house, and it’s no worse for the wear.

Though I have to admit that if I found something with a front pocket for my iPad like the con bag of holding I would seriously consider switching it up.

u/Sabrewings · 1 pointr/MSILaptops

That laptop is a bit thick for sleeve style carrying cases. They're usually made for devices less than a half inch thick and your laptop is 0.85" thick. You might need a small laptop bag like this.

Edit: According to the specs for this sleeve, it should work. Link.

u/SoVerySick314159 · 3 pointsr/HelpMeFind

I don't know why, but I've been looking at this one for months, thinking it might be nice for carrying my tablet and other items. We just keep getting more and more items to carry, it seems.

unrelated, but is there any difference between option 2 in this post at $129.99 and the one on amazon for 49.99 / 99.99?

I have one on either side. With the waist and leg straps removed, they're very easy to attach with zipties under the seat and on the bottom to the frame that the exhaust / passenger pegs attach to.

This laptop bag I don't have one and I'll be traveling shortly via airplane.

u/tielknight · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

$1-2 less than other similar laptop bags with Amazon's basics brand that looks similar for 30 cents more.

Imo i'd rather pay the dollar or 2 more than give these shills more incentive to keep spamming up the place with their garbage.

u/FiendAlarming · 4 pointsr/malefashionadvice

A rule of thumb I frequently use with Amazon is looking at the negative (1-2 star) reviews. In this case, a lot of the problems that people have reported seem like legitimate issues (problems with quality, practicality, comfort) and not just user errors (couldn't get a stain out). Obviously, there will always be negative reviews, but if there are reviews that sustain suspicion about trash quality, it may be worth looking elsewhere.

As someone else mentioned, always be cautious of predatory/false reviews that just inflate the overall rating.
