I have a 3 year old that wanted to be a Ghostbuster so let me help you out:

Proton Pack - The rubies pack doesn't have lights or sound but looks pretty good and is perfectly scaled for a smaller child. The spirit pack might be a little too big and heavy for a little guy: https://www.amazon.com/Rubies-Costume-Classic-Ghostbusters-Backpack/dp/B01CIOHLAM

The uniform can be bought a few different ways. Spirit does sell a pretty good quality one that comes with the Venkman name tag: https://www.spirithalloween.com/product/tv-movies-gaming/movies/ghostbusters/kids-ghostbusters-boys-one-piece-costume-ghostbusters-classic/pc/1382/c/3810/sc/1471/150345.uts?thumbnailIndex=9

If your kiddo is like mine, it might be too big. I would suggest checking out a store and trying it on first. If it is too big, you best alternative might be this flight suit from Amazon. While it's exactly screen accurate, the sizing most likely is for a little one and you can remove all the patches and sew on the GB ones: https://www.amazon.com/Aeromax-Fighter-Pilot-Suit-Embroidered/dp/B00X1AOO7G/ref=sr_1_3?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1537216807&sr=1-3&keywords=kids+flight+suit

As for the name tags/patches if you go with the Amazon flight suit, I have bought from the seller below with great success. She has a quick turnaround (1 to 2 days before shipping) and the quality is pretty good: https://www.ebay.com/itm/TODDLER-Ghostbusters-No-Ghost-1-Custom-Name-Tag-Patch-Set-Iron-on-backed/390932212275?epid=1931622681&hash=item5b05602a33:g:-7cAAMXQBLNTlfyh:sc:USPSFirstClass!86323!US!-1

Lastly, the accessories like goggles and trap would most likely be best bought from spirit. The size of the goggles is a little small and fit my kids pretty well. The trap will be a little big but I am sure you son will have a blast playing with it (it looks like the trap is sold out online but I am sure you can find one in store). Here is the link to the goggles: https://www.spirithalloween.com/product/light-up-ghostbusters-ecto-goggles-ghostbusters/164359.uts?Extid=sf_froogle

u/lsves001 · 9 pointsr/LARP

You will never have the perfect garb at your first event, but you can have some pretty cool garb.

I recommend contacts, black out contacts if you can afford them. They can give you some big wow points

Practice makeup the weeks before. A lot of the characters personality will come from the face. YouTube tutorials. I liked this one: https://youtu.be/Xzm9nzAQe4U, but if it's an outdoor or combat larp it may not be appropriate.

Next I will recommend a corset. Corsets are easy to buy, comfortable, and sexy as hell no matter your shape. Here's an example of what I would look into getting: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ESYASXM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_k-xJxb81BDKWY

Last depends on the character's personality. You can either do a skirt or pants. I'd do a pair of pleather pants because that's the type of character I play. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U83KYIM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_uiyJxbMK49XWC

Something else you could look into is hair. I'd dye my hair black and spike it, but my hair is short. You could also look into getting a wig. Sometimes you can get the look you want without a wig which is what I'd recommend if you can. Long and straight is a classic, but high ponytail is dominatrixy.

Tit-bits here and there can really make a character shine. Pop into your local thrift store to check out belts, jewelry, and non costume props like a goblet or black leather boots.

Head jewelry is a must for any princess. Something like this maybe: https://www.etsy.com/listing/202284704/gold-headdress-gold-head-chain-boho

Add some sculpy horns. There are so many tutorials on this. If you're budget is a little more fluffy buy some horns like: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003JH8T9A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0uyJxb2CTFW3A I'd spray paint them to look like bone and reenforce the horns with clips and better elastic for active wear.

Fangs might be a good idea too. I normally use scarecrow brand for those. They're inexpensive and look good. It's a good bang for your buck

Really what it comes down to is the characters purpose and personality. I'd do a combat succubus because that's what I would enjoy playing (lust and wrath are easy for me). You could also do an extremely useful vain daemon and be painfully georgeous, you could never do combat and get away with a lot better costuming. I don't know what your budget is either. I normally drop $100 on any character I start, but you could be rich. I don't know.

  • Science: You are here - it's just a fun poster, but actually really interesting the more you look at it. It seems silly, but you really get a sense of how big our galaxy is.

  • Gardens: Herb Savor - This thing is pretty awesome and helps keep herbs and such fresh.

  • Writing: Who doesn't want to learn Calligraphy

  • Film/Movies: I absolutely love Mel Brooks - I really really want it!

  • Fantasy: Leaf Clasp

  • Books/Authors: The Border Trilogy by Cormac McCarthy - These books are beautifully written. The most poetical version of prose I've ever read. Anything Richard Matheson - I had to put this as well because Richard Matheson is one of my favorite authors. He wrote many short stories (many became twilight zone episodes) and his novels are amazing. He wrote I Am Legend, which I would 100% recommend. However, the link is to one of his short story collections because they are just too amazing to pass up.
  • Nature/outdoors: Picnic Wine holder - There's nothing better than a nice glass of wine and these things are awesome.

  • Spirituality: Bamboo wind chime - I don't know why, but I have always felt there was something spiritual about wind chimes; especially wooden ones; and especially bamboo ones.

  • Art supplies - Sketching kit - I don't know much about art supplies, but this looks like a nice set.

  • Math - Pi Ice Cubes - They're just too cute and also math related

  • Travel: Universal Surge Protector - I wasn't sure if you travel a lot internationally, but if you do, get this.

  • Food - Citrus ginger dressing - This stuff is to die for!

  • Fun stuff: Lightsaber chopsticks - These are so fun to use. I'm taking a shot in the dark about whether you like sushi or star wars, but if I'm right, you'll want these.

  • Something not on this list, but that you absolutely have to link to or you'll explode: Dino Sandwich cutter - Do I even need to explain?

Mischief Managed!

The First

Since I don't drink, my experience with wine is limited, but as a mother I have quite a lot of experience with small creatures who like to whine. We all know the only way to keep these little creatures (otherwise known as children) from excessive whining is to keep them distracted and entertained.

The Second

How is it that muggles can keep their homes clean without magic or house elves? I can't even think about the hard work it must take to keep a tidy home without magic, using nothing but a basic broom! And did you know they only use brooms for cleaning? Imagine! If I couldn't lift off the ground on my broom, I don't know what I'd do! How would I travel?! Surely those large metal boxes they put up in the sky can't be safe! How do they stay in the air without magic?! I just don't know how I'd live if I were a muggle.

The Third

Of all the things that people have put on their heads throughout history, only the hat lived on as the one piece of attire universally accepted to protect the tops of heads. There was a short period of time between 1622 and 1624 in which wizards commonly wore ornamental bonsai trees atop their heads, but this fad inevitably led to a large increase in bee stings during the spring and summer months when bees became interested pollinating the head wear. And so, as most fads do, the bonsai look faded out of popularity. Only the hat as remained an actively appropriate way to address the need to cover the top of one's head. There have been many famous hats throughout time, including the bowling bowler that was often seen resting atop the head of the wizard known as Maginny McMulnery, when it was not bowling perfect games. Another was the incredibly well-known Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw, though many argue that the diadem is not qualified as a hat, but rather an item of jewelry. Others argue that it's stylistic qualities make no difference, as it's use is what is important, though most of those who argue are tuned out by others who don't much care about the semantics regarding long-lost treasures that will never be found again. The most famous of all hats, however, is inarguably the Hogwarts Sorting Hat which has sorted students into their Houses at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry since it's inception.

The Fourth

If you are in need of any book, there is only one place you need look. The Hogwarts Library will always have what you need.... Unless you are looking for information about horcruxes, in which case you should stop asking questions and get back to your studies.

The Fifth

When traveling, it is important to pack smartly. How many things can you fit in your trunk, and will there be room for everything you'll need? Sometimes, it is simply impossible to bring every item on your list in just one trunk, but two or three trunks is just too much to carry when passing through muggle areas where magic use is restricted. That's why some witches and wizards decide to use an Undetectable Extension charm. This charm allows your trunk or bag to extend within, so that you can fit a nearly infinite amount of items in a finite space. This charm leaves items bigger on the inside, allowing for a much easier and hassle-free travel experience.

The Bonus

Any superhero knows that a cape is not a complete disguise. Well, any hero besides superman. If you're going to wear a cape, you've also got to have a mask. It's probably best if the mask has eye holes, though...

Edit!!! Oh, I forgot to say why I will NEED these items! The first is self-explanatory, I'll need to keep the whining to a minimum in order to focus on the work I'm assigned, especially if I take potions. You know Snape is going to assign at least a dozen parchments worth of writing every week. The second is what I'll need to use in order to get across the Atlantic to attend Hogwarts! No matter how much I prefer traveling by broom, I can't risk such a long flight alone. The third is something all students will need, because without the sorting hat it would be impossible to be sorted into our houses! The fourth is, of course, incredibly important. I'm sure I'll be frequenting the Hogwarts Library throughout my time there. The fifth will be the very first thing I use, because without my trunk being bigger on the inside they'll never even let me onto the plane! I'd have way too many bags and trunks without that charm. And of course, as for the bonus, I'll need that mask in order to sleep, because my dorm mates are quite rowdy and I expect them to be using magic well into the evening most nights. Along with the eye mask, I'll also be packing several pairs of ear plugs!

Oh my GOSH this is so fuuuun, I wish I had kids to make baskets for, I love this stuff! So here are my go-tos:

  1. Play dough, or crayola air clay. Why BUY dinosaurs when you can MAKE YOUR OWN dinosaurs?

  2. Bubbles, but these are bubble guns that light up. Cheap, comes with 2! ALWAYS put bubbles in baskets. Bubbles are 100% fun 100% of the time!

  3. This POkemon sticker set has 10 sheets, which you can split into 5 sheets for each kiddo. Fair is fair!

  4. Check out this dinosaur excavation kit! It's a steal for 5 bucks.

  5. These Mario blocks filled with chocolate coins are super cool!

  6. Educational science kits for backyards are a great way to keep kiddos smart and occupied.

  7. Let's be honest, this would be adorable and hilarious for the 6 year old kiddo!

  8. This dinosaur book is adorable, too

  9. Kites are universally fun, video games or not!

  10. Styluses are easy to lose. The older kiddo could probably use some fun Pokemon ones before the inevitable.

I have TONS more ideas, let me know if you need more! ^u^
u/Elongated_Moisture · 4 pointsr/BurningMan

I am also very, very fair skinned. I brought a lot of sunscreen, but it wasn't as necessary as I thought.

    1. I am mostly under shade structures during the day, and most active in late afternoon/evening and at night. Most people are like this for heat reasons. [I also work bike repair during days and was therefor under shadecover]

    1. I wear sleeves. some UV sleeves from Amazon, like these. Sunscreen can make you "sticky" and then you just get dustier. Also, you don't have to worry about your sleeves "wearing off". It's easier to pair a set of sleeves with a t-shirt or top... you can remove them if you want, and they aren't always attached to your outfit if you go inside somewhere.

    1. There is so much dust in the air usually, I think it helps block a lot of the sun/UV.

    1. I brought a cheap gas station wide-brim hat. I like the fisherman style, woven type. They breath well. I dyed mine with cheap dies so it is rainbow colored. This protects my upper face/neck.

    1. I wear a cool facemask/cover most of the day for dust reasons... and this protected my lower face. I found this type of mask on Etsy years ago, and it's awesome. Easy to drink through for a sip, and you can leave it open if you need to for heat without exposing your face to the sun. I wear mine everywhere on Playa.

    1. I wore a kilt, so I also brought a bunch of knee-high socks to protect my legs.

Basically, Sunscreen is great, and I recommend you bring some. But layers and coverings should work better. If you grease up with lotion, you just turn into a caked-mess of playa dust. I recommend the spray-on sport kind that instantly dries, although it feels a little like you're wearing a coat of plastic.

Mischief Managed!

So I decided to order my school supplies from a "reputable" magical supply store. I can not believe what happened. So you order by answering riddles and I thought that would ensure that everyone's orders are correct, I guess not....

Riddle the First-Wine or Wine Goblet

Either way, I wonder if this is even considered to be appropriate [drink wear] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HZR94O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=25MSIGOHKX8AU&coliid=I1GX53XQYP0JML&psc=1) in the Great Hall of the RAOA school of magic, merriment and Mischief.

Riddle the Second- Broom

I don't know what they were thinking, I asked for a Firebolt, I will never be able to fly with these. I thought maybe they were just tiny for shipping purposes, but I've tried to use Engorgio to make them bigger, but nothing happens.

Riddle the Third- Hat

I swear I ordered a standard witch's hat. I am not sure how they heard wicker hat.

Riddle the Fourth- Book

They told me that this is one of the most important books of knowledge of our times and I wouldn't be able to pass my muggle studies with out it

Riddle the Fifth- Trunk

I don't even know what to say about this. How am I suppose to get all my supplies/clothes to school in these? I mean sure if I was a guy I am sure they would be pretty comfortable. Note to self, next time use the word Luggage Trunk.

Bonus Riddle- Cape

And last but not least, I just wanted a simple black cape. It's black alright, but unless I am going to be giving haircuts in my common room, I have no idea what to do with this.

That is the last time I order anything from Mundungus Fletcher's Magic Emporium.

Being the Basilisk-Female and Male Variations

Female Shirt

Female Pants

Female Shoes

Male Shirt

Male Pants

Male Shoes

Necklace

Fangs

Yellow Contact Lenses (Optional)

Channel your inner Basilisk with my male and female variation designs. Both the male and female versions have skin scale shirts and pants to help you appear as scaly as Salazar's serpent. The shoes for both variations are snake scaled as well, but are comfortable enough so that you can walk around in your costume. The necklace was chosen as it has a snake and the green of Salazar himself. Additionally, the fangs were chosen to represent the sharp fangs of the Basilisk and they are easy to wear. If you really want to channel the spirit of the Basilisk, opt for wearing yellow contact lenses so your eyes match the monster itself.

I also recommend wearing your hair in an S-Shaped braid like this to really hit the "S" in serpent. You may want to add a little green makeup on your face to really sell the look as well if you so desire.

i'm making a simple non-lace shawl, and since i'm using the motivation of buying myself this when i'm finished. it's thin so it's good for this type of weather (hopefully it won't get too warm for me to wear once i finish), but also no lace so it can keep you pretty warm too. when i get more popular shawl-needle sizes and yarns, i think i'm gonna make a lot more and wear them with my incentive brooch. also, if you spend so much time and yarn on something that you never wear, then you frog it and save the yarn for something else, or give it to someone who wears shawls.

Woot! please pop my cherry

Item! My kids would LOVE this, I would give it to them!

Honestly? The Tick. he holds a Sentimental value for me because I knew the guy who created the tick personally. I virtually grew up with him. Biggest mistake he ever made was selling the rights of The Tick. It went from a great comic to a mediocre cartoon.

I would love to get This

u/the_skyis_falling · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
  1. This because F drinking out of a fancy glass. I would be able to walk around in public getting sloshed and no one would be the wiser...Until I fell or flashed my boobs.

  2. Because animals eat this stuff for reals. I think that is how the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz lost his brains. Those evil evil rabbits and birds.

  3. I don't need no stinking "hold all the heat in, til my head feels like a sauna" hat thing. I prefer cute bandanas and these for keeping cooler and my hair out of my nose and eyes. Sexy I know.

  4. Books are paper filled with smart stuff, money is paper filled with power and importance.

  5. I put these on my car to decorate the trunk of my car where indecently trunks could go.

  6. I would use this to perfectly fasten my cape so I it would look awesome and hopefully not catch on anything and potentially kill me.

Thanks so much for all you and your co-magical people are doing. This is awesome.

My favorite quote is from Goblet of Fire!

Imperio! :O I think the sorting hat is the only HP related item I have at the moment, but I'd love anything! Thanks for the contest!

u/overstable · 2 pointsr/festivals

A coolie hat can save the day. The wide brim keeps that blazing festival sun off your face and neck (and maybe a shoulder or two), plus the internal headband support means there's a good flow of air around your dome.

The style stands out in the crowd too. It also draws looks from the neighbors while I'm mowing the lawn.

u/nondece · 1 pointr/nintendo

There are some pretty cool squid hats on Amazon, too. I'll see if I can find them and link them.

Edit: I think these may be it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B5HW6W2/

u/ironysparkles · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I need these so that I may frolic in the fields without judgement. You see, when I frolic I get looks like "Why is that person frolicing, that's weird." But if you see someone wearing huge ram horns frolicing in a field, you say "Why is that person wearing ram horns? That's weird" and you forget to judge them for the frolicing!

Thus I shall be free to prance and skip at my leisure.

Maybe try searching for linen cloak or medieval cloak then modify it if needed? These look promising but I haven’t tried the site before.

Helmets are a pain to make which is why they’re pricy. Consider buying something similar then modifying it. Cheap Halloween props are easy to modify and they’ll be a lot at thrift stores this time of year. This one looks promising.
