I recently bought this bag at Marshalls for about $75. While it doesn't have the separate shoe compartment, a shoe bag would help with that. I really like it. It's nice because I can fit a lot into it, but it's not as bulky as most other bags I've seen and used. It has a nice padded pocket that I can fit my laptop into. I put my shoes on the bottom, then can fit my work clothes (jeans, sweater, socks, undies, bra), a medium sized makeup bag, and then my lunch and snacks. It was a splurge purchase for me, but I'm really liking it.

u/abovetheignorance · 1 pointr/GroupSit

I have been using the Hugger Mugger Zafu cushion since last summer and I absolutely love it. I too started with a folded up yoga mat, but my leg(s) would almost always fall asleep within the first fifteen minutes.

The Zafu cushion is so much more comfortable. The improved support makes it so much easier to keep my center of weight in line with my tailbone and keep from slouching forward over time. I place my Zafu on top of a yoga mat for the sake of my ankles on the hardwood floor, and I never have any physical discomfort anymore, at least with a 20-30 minute sit. It also has a small zipper hidden under the cloth handle which you can use to adjust the amount of hulls inside (I removed some from mine to lower the height slightly), or dump the hulls out so you can wash it.

In conclusion, I can't recommend it enough! The materials and construction are very durable. Take good care of it and I bet that it will last you a lifetime.

6'3 here and I use a jade harmony 74" mat in hot yoga classes. I am by far one of the sweatiest people in the class and the mat holds up very well. It's $70 shipped from amazon w/ amazon prime. Fantastic reviews. Eco friendly. Amazing grip.

Get it.

A guy with stiff and inflexible hips here (in addition to lower back and pelvis injuries from my wrestling days).I sit in a chair because I prefer to spend my meditation time doing the practice rather than fighting my own body. I would assume that you are allowed to use a chair on most retreats.

I make myself comfortable in the chair without using the backrest. My hips are slightly elevated wtr to my knees. This ensures that the pelvis is slightly tilted and helps maintain the natural curvature in the lower back. Props can help here. I personally use a chair wedge cushion, but a folded blanket works just as well. Bonus is that you can pack the cushions and take it with you. It fits in a backpack.

Knees are close to shoulder width apart and bent to 90°. I wiggle my pelvis and legs until I find a comfortable position that also feels stable. Hands are resting in my lap or on top of my thighs.

I have no physical discomfort sitting like this for 60-70min. Haven't tried longer sits yet.

u/ShootMeTwelveDollars · 2 pointsr/running

You might try something like this.

I'm a big fan of this brand, especially for the price. I prefer to run in lined running shorts, but their leggings are also fantastic. Reviews suggest that these are as nice as the leggings. The material is really nice and sturdy, and compresses some without feeling restrictive or being see-through.

u/SohrabJamshid · 1 pointr/yoga

I have 3 pairs of these and they're awesome. For shirts, I just searched through redbubble for prints I liked and then ordered them in tri-blend which is really breathable material that will soak up sweat like cotton, but won't stick (at least it doesn't stick to me and I'm pretty hairy lol). The shirts are a little pricey, but from my understanding the artists get a decent cut of the profits for their work and the shirts are good quality.

u/6foot8yoga · 2 pointsr/yoga

I think this is what I use I can't remember but it was cheap and from Amazon

YogaAccessories (TM) Extra Wide / Extra Long 1/4'' Deluxe Yoga Mat https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001FLK6IY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_L0l4xb0TAFQ0F

I then put a Yoga Rat Towel on top. The towel is long enough and the width is good. The width doesn't cover the entire XL mat so if you want to move a foot to the rubber for whatever reason you can very easily.

THE XL YOGA TOWEL for XL yoga mats: 100% Microfiber, super-absorbent, enhances grip and protects your mat. Many colors to choose from. 26" x 85" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009AZ5B0K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_51l4xbEAK7A9T

u/Talk-Nerdy-To-Me · 3 pointsr/yoga

For a beginner I would recommend a 1/4" thick mat that's pretty thick and comfortable. it won't kill your hands and legs while learning the basic poses.

http://www.amazon.com/YogaAccessories-TM-Extra-Density-Phthalate/dp/B000PUHFQW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1376686065&sr=8-2&keywords=yoga+mat

my favorite yoga mat (though more expensive) is the Jade yoga mat. It's slightly thinner but has better grip technology and texture for harder poses...less opportunities to slip.

http://www.amazon.com/Jade-Harmony-Professional-Yoga-Midnight/dp/B000EC9LMM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376686234&sr=8-1&keywords=jade+yoga+mat

u/moonsal71 · 2 pointsr/yoga

It’s not a major brand, but I have tried a few in the $50 range & I love this. Had it for a year, use daily for ashtanga practice, still perfect. Don’t slip at all, from day 1. https://www.amazon.com/IUGA-Unbeatable-Performance-Certified-Lightweight/dp/B079BK15PT/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=iuga&psc=1&qid=1572424304&sr=8-7

u/blahblahbecca98 · 3 pointsr/fitpregnancy

Yeah! I love them. Prior to pregnancy I always got the high waisted version. But they were t comfortable for me after because of being so freaking short. I’ll see if I can find the link on Amazon because there was one style that wasn’t squat proof.

Edit: this is the style I always get

There are full length options as well and a ton of colors.

u/MelbyToast · 2 pointsr/PolishGauntlet

Woops! Hopefully this works better. There's been vodka involved tonight. Please excuse me.

Don't worry about the 3rd paragraph. It's all related, anyway. Those videos looks really good. I've heard of the first one (but that means little).

You might even check out barre type workouts. They're intense, but amazing workouts.

u/UnicornBestFriend · 2 pointsr/Meditation

No lie - exercise and strengthening your core support muscles can help (and can help your posture, too!). Eating healthily and being properly hydrated can also make a huge difference. Or you might look into a sitting aid like this chair or a zafu. Emptying some of the buckwheat makes it easier to mold into the support shape you need.

In my experience it does get easier with practice but everyone's physiology is different so it's hard to say how it will be for you. This does seem to be a common struggle though so at least you know plenty of other people are working through it and lots of meditators have succeeded!

u/saroka · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I need hangers cause I'm an idiot and don't have enough with me to even fill up part of the closet. I also need a rice cooker cause food? And this pad thing so that I can work out in my apartment and so that when my boyfriend visits he doesn't sleep on the bare floor. XD I guess they link with apartmenty stuff, but in totally different rooms. XD And to infinity and beyond!

u/RyerOrdStar · 1 pointr/xxfitness

I have a different model of Baleaf and I love them too, I need more pairs! Feel like the sizing was true to the chart.

u/MulderHeartsScully · 1 pointr/AskWomen

If you are short-ish thai fisherman pants are great. They are one size fits all and unisex, so if you are above average height they might be a bit short. But they are super comfy, and semi warm.

u/serenity_now_ · 2 pointsr/yoga

I have a PrAna mat and love it. I recommend ordering off Amazon because they discount colors that don't sell as well. At the time that I bought mine, the blue was only $50. It looks like the spinach one is cheapest now.

http://www.amazon.com/prAna-Womens-Indigena-Natural-Yoga/dp/B0059STE50/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1421250313&sr=8-3&keywords=prana+yoga+mat

u/viciouscabaret · 7 pointsr/xxfitness

Dude. Cork yoga mats.

My hands tend to get sweaty and slip on my mat regardless of whether I'm doing normal yoga or hot yoga. I bought a yoga towel for hot yoga, which helped my hands, but my feet don't get as sweaty and then they'd slip on the yoga towel. I did halfsies for a bit.

Then I got an Amazon gift card for doing a biometric screening at work and used it to buy this cork yoga mat on Amazon. And I. DO. NOT. SLIP. Even in a super-sweaty and demanding hot power vinyasa class.

Highly recommend if you're willing/able to swing the cost.

u/amillionminds · 1 pointr/Meditation

dont think you need all the extra pillows really, just a cresent buckwheat zafu/cushion and the meditation cushion should be fine. You can buy them in a pair, something like this should be good :) https://www.amazon.com/Zafu-Crescent-Meditation-Buckwheat-Certified/dp/B00QUBJ1Y4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1498144281&sr=8-2&keywords=crescent+meditation+buckwheat

u/Lang_Zai · 1 pointr/digitalnomad

Adding to this a pair of yoga straps like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XYFTVDV/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this is great. You can pretty much use them as TRX at a fraction of the space taken up in your bag. They're also good for stretching and I use them at the gym for weighted pullups and dips.

Additionally you can use them to strap things to your bags or compress your luggage.

u/TundraWolf_ · 2 pointsr/yoga

I had typed out a pretty long unfriendly response about how I feel about expensive yoga clothes. I deleted all of it.

Yoga, like any sport, you usually get what you pay for in equipment. The more expensive stuff uses natural materials and someone like manduka will stand behind their product whereas a no-name brand on the internet probably won't.

this is what i use. It is nothing fancy, and it isn't made out of recycled anything. I needed it quickly and I've been using it over a year. It's larger, and an odd color (which I like).

My favorite however is a towel on the grass. Unfortunately I don't get to do that as often as I'd like.

u/degeneratepr · 3 pointsr/ddpyoga

First off, congratulations on losing almost 100 pounds! That's an amazing accomplishment.

When I started doing DDP Yoga, my apartment had carpeted floors, so I never had this issue. However, my current apartment has hardwood floors, and the first time I used my old cheap yoga mat, which was super thin, it just killed my knees. Just getting into safety zone was painful, and I certainly felt it the next day.

I started having a foam cushion nearby and using it when I knew I had to be on my knees, but having to place it and remove it constantly was really inconvenient. I ended up buying a much thicker yoga mat (1/2 inch thick mat, similar to this one on Amazon) and that definitely helped prevent this. So I would recommend that.

u/galaxystarsmoon · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Super cheap: Forever21... they have different lengths; you may want to buy cropped.

These are another step up in price and are nearly full length on me, so they may be good for you.

u/extra_crunchy · 2 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I bought these I'm 2017 and they're my favorite pair I own. The pockets are super deep and the material is very thick and stretchy.

5'7"ish Male here. I prefer what they call 'fisherman's pants'. I love em for yoga and wear em traveling because they are so comfy. You can roll them up to fit you properly too.

This is what I just got, before I had just folded up a pillow, after getting this though, I find I am much more excited about meditating. It is rather expensive, but in my opinion, was well worth it.

Came here to say 90 Degree Leggings by Reflex as well! I've had some of mine for ~4 years with weekly wear and they're still going strong.

u/tornado28 · 2 pointsr/AcroYoga

It took me forever to find something to wear. Eventually I found these and I'm very happy. They don't fall up like normal gym shorts, they're not super tight and they're still athletic shorts. The pockets aren't ideal for flying but I've never had any problems and I fly a fair amount.

I got this one for a couple of bucks less. It's good quality and very thick. It ended up being too thick for me so I got a different one.

u/turnleftdale · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Like I said, the mat im using now is too stretchy, has no grip, so it moves a lot when I'm trying to do certain excersies.

This is it.

Oh! Yoga mat!

For yogaing. All the yogiest yogaing.

Edit: I decided I need to add an explanation. More because I want to. I go to the gym three days a week. I run and do the weight machines. On my off days I don't end up with a lot I can do, I have a yoga dvd I've been trying to do but the carpet in my apartment is so thin! When I end up on the floor my hip bones dig into the concrete. It hurts enough to keep me from doing yoga anymore.
