24. GYEON Quartz Rim Sealant | Advanced Quartz Coating for Wheel Finishes - 30 ml

    Features:
  • PROFESSIONAL RESULTS IN AN EASY TO APPLY COATING - GYEON Q² Rim brings the appearance of the paintwork to a new level, delivering pure candy gloss. Its thick formulation requires only one layer, making the application process quick and user-friendly.
  • TEMPERATURE RESISTANT - Wheels, just after the engine bay and exhausts, are the components most exposed to high temperatures. Q² Rim has an endurance capability exceeding 1400ºF without any damage to its original properties.
  • HIGH SELF CLEANING ABILITIES - Similar to other genuine SiO₂-based coatings, Q² Rim offers superb self-cleaning abilities. It results in limiting the time needed to keep wheels, especially those with complicated patterns, impeccably clean.
  • SAFE FOR ALL FINISHES - There are various wheel rim types available on the market, e.g. wet painted, powder-coated, anodized or polished. Q² Rim is an appropriate product to protect each and every one of them.
  • APPLICATION - Q² Rim requires just 1 thick layer, although if you wish to extend its durability, the product might be layered. Keep a minimum of 4 hours period between layers. The coating might be applied on all finishes of rims, both glossy and matte. TIP: Apply Q² Rim in sections. It is fast drying and curing formula, so large, complexly shaped rims should be divided into numerous, smaller sections.

If you're looking for Amazon, [Optimum Ferrex](Optimum (21977) FerreX - 17 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016X2DJMO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mQ03Cb2TYS8GC) is available. It's a great product and paint safe, but just a but pricier. The advantage is that you can use it as clay lube too for heavy iron contamination on cars.

If you're getting the Mother's clay kit, I would still recommend using clay dilution ONR instead of their quick detailer. Much better results and safer.

u/lando55 · 3 pointsr/FZ07

The reviews on this are all over the map, but I love it. Once you spray it on it sticks to the rim and eats away at the chain lube, mud, and other road grossness that accumulates on your wheels. Get a nice solid brush to help reach into the crevices and enjoy your showroom wheels.

u/Anguish-horn · 1 pointr/AutoDetailing

I use Liquid X woolies. Found them on amazon.

Liquid X Original Wheel Woolies Brushes 3 Piece Kit - Includes Angled Caliper Spoke Brush - USA Made - Black - New & Improved https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779HTLD7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jZz4CbRNQZXZM

They’ve been great so far!

u/esseffgee · 1 pointr/FZ07

Not OP, but I use S100 with great results. The wheels always look brand new when I'm done, and I'm never not shocked at how clean they wind up.

u/Astronom3r · 0 pointsr/Miata
  1. Start by cleaning the wheels. I use Armor All Wheel Cleaner (accept no substitute) and a painter's brush with the metal bit wrapped in electrical tape to avoid scratches. I do one wheel at a time, including the tire. After I rinse off the wheel cleaner, I use a small kitchen sponge and a bucket of car wash to wash the wheel further.

  2. Using a different, new sponge (or a brush if you like), start from the top of the car and work your way down. Anywhere that gets hit by debris from the wheels should be the last thing you wash, and wash these areas gingerly. Make sure to really spray them down beforehand to rinse off loose dirt and loosen caked-on stuff. Also, and this is just my own preference, don't forget to wash "where the Sun don't shine". I use the sponge I used on the wheels to clean inside the car's "mouth" right before the radiator, as well as to clean off the exhaust tip (which is the absolute last thing to do before discarding the sponge). Really work your fingers in the nooks and crannies to feel for dirt, loose leaves, debris, etc. Although this only applies to the NA, I also really clean around and under the pop-up headlights.

  3. Dry with a chamois. If you washed your car thoroughly, there should be little to no blackening of the chamois, but use a different, cotton rag to dry off your wheels and tires.

  4. If you wax/polish your car, clay it beforehand with a mild clay and quick detailer. This step is crucial if you want glass-smooth paint that takes wax and polish properly. Fold the clay over any time it starts looking black, and go from the top down, just like how you wash the car. Don't bear down on the clay. Just keep a flat pad and gently work over the paint.

  5. Finally, don't hesitate to discard dirty towels/sponges/clay. I keep a huge supply of microfiber cloths on hand, and I buy new sponges every time I go to the supermarket. It isn't worth reusing anything, as it only takes one bit of dirt to leave massive swirl marks in your paint that takes forever to polish out.

Is this the wheel cleaner you're talking about? Does it have a purple bleeding effect just like IronX or will I have to rinse based on timing?

For brushing the pads, what kind of brushes work? I don't have compressed air and will be working in a garage.

Taking everyone's advice with the cheap clay. I'll get the Nanoskin 7x7 Green Clay Towel instead. They also have a blue towel. Whats the big difference?

Since 50% is too strong, I'll dilute it to get ~10%

Nice job!

I use Back on Black on my fender flares, and it works great. I have to do it once a year in the spring.

It’s ferrous material stick to your clear coat. There is not anything wrong with your paint and clear coat, this is just something that happens to all vehicles.

The best way to remove it is with an iron fallout remover of some sort. I do auto detailing on the side and I recommend (and many others will to) Gyeon products. I know the link is long but the stuff takes it right off. It smells absolutely dreadful, but it works. Make sure to wash ALL of it off if you end up using. I suggest you check out r/AutoDetailing as well.

Yup that's the one. I've used both Sonax and Griot's and they seem pretty similar to me.

That's a pretty expensive price. It was about $14 for the same size at Autozone. It's also available as a gallon for $50

u/eyeamgrewt · 1 pointr/BMW

Sonax is my go-to. But if you want to go all-out, give them a deep clean and decon, and ceramic coat them. I've used Gyeon with good results. Ceramic coating makes them a breeze during regular cleanings. A blast with my power washer gets 95% of the brake dust off.

u/olmsteez · 2 pointsr/Cartalk

Switch to ceramic brake pads?

Seriously, the Chemical Guys make a great wheel cleaner for this kind of situation.

I use Motul Chain Clean and Chain Lube and both work great.

u/asdfderp2 · 1 pointr/AutoDetailing

So i am looking to get started with some very simple jobs while not investing too much money into it. I have lurked here for quite a while, and watched a bunch of videos and read guides, but now it's time to pull the trigger. I am nervous about making mistakes, so some advice would be great.

The jobs at hand are as follows:

1: Cleaning the wheels.

2: Removing stains from cloth seats, generally detailing the interior.

For the wheels i am currently looking at "Koch Chemie, Reactive Wheel Cleaner" paired with a simple "Valet Pro, Large Sash Brush". For the interior i have no idea if i just need an APC, or a dedicated cloth product. So far i have "Koch Chemie, Multi Interior Cleaner" on my list, coupled with a MF towel and another brush. I can't use the same brush for both the interior and the wheels, right? Should i get more MF towels considering that this is a very limited job? Am i missing anything? What do you think about the products i have listed?

Now i am in Europe, so lots of the US products are either more expensive, or simply not availabe. So please keep that in mind.

/r/AutoDetailing would be a good place to ask too, I would for see some answers would be what /u/LexusBrian400 has already said, plus;

Dub

Iron X

That's just off the top of my head.

u/vdubsr32 · 1 pointr/FiestaST

A buddy of mine recommended this stuff:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001THV9D0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1

Just tried it out last night - hoping it keeps the brake dust build up to a minimum.

u/ender4171 · 1 pointr/AutoDetailing

Check out Flash Brown Royal. I use it and find that it works as good as Ironx or Sonax at a fraction of the price. That link is the concentrate that will make 3 gallons of cleaner.

u/thaiphoonST · 5 pointsr/FiestaST

Is this the one you're using? I used something similar before but couldn't find anything that rinses off as easily as Sonax.

Unfortunately car care can be somewhat expensive when you use the right products. I have a 2013 EX in SWP, so my garage is full of detailing products. Polishes, sealants, cleaners. You name, I've probably got it.

About $0.40 an ounce. Still not really cheap

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005FN58U4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RtSfAb9VGTVJ7

Griots is a bit cheaper at $0.35 an ounce. The cheapest option I believe.

I have heard of people diluting it themselves but I haven't texted the effectiveness of this.

Some OTC stuff you can try are Mother's back to black or Meguiars Ultimate Black

u/thezlog · 1 pointr/MINI

I read about a product called Back to Black from Mother's on NAM that has a lot of fans:
http://www.amazon.com/automotive/dp/B0002U1TXK

u/sruon · 1 pointr/motorcycles

This product in a garden sprayer.

u/ZiggyTheHamster · 1 pointr/scooters

You need some Mothers Back to Black

u/elislider · 2 pointsr/Cartalk

Mother's makes Back-To-Black which is a better version of exterior Armor-All IMO.

http://www.amazon.com/Mothers-06108-Back-Black-Trim/dp/B0002U1TXK

if you want to make something black that wasnt black, then you basically need to paint it. PlastiDip is probably the go-to for that. you can make a chromed out car all black with it, or turn a tan interior into the darkest night. just follow the directions!

u/Warmachine- · 2 pointsr/AutoDetailing

Return the AutoCraft interior brushes. They are absolute horse shit. I used these and the fibers literally fell off after a few uses. Get some from here. https://www.solobrushes.com/products/173-Bridled-Glue-Brush-429/

or these

EDIT: IMO, this wheel cleaner is much better than the one have. http://www.amazon.com/DUB-U1422-Wheel-Cleaner-oz/dp/B00G49NYT0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458337428&sr=8-1&keywords=dub+wheel+cleaner
