One thing I have learned over the years is that while quality can be expensive, it doesn't have to be. Also, what one person loves and thinks is the "softest set of sheets ever!!!!" can feel like sandpaper to another person. (OK that's two things. Oh well.)

I have major sleep and texture issues, so I have spent a lot of years perfecting my bedding. After much searching and much cost, I ended up finding out that the Target UltraSoft sheets are my second favorite ever (to some discontinued Lands' End knit, their current knit is not the same.) I love that these sheets come in individuals, so you can buy just the ones you need. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I just got a new pillowcase from Sheex at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and it is amazing. Someday I will get their Bamboo Sheet Set as my summer/alternate sheets.

For blankets, I'm a big fan of the warm fuzzy ones. Target again has some from a couple of their brands (Threshold and Shabby Chic) but I find they're not quite as good quality as they used to be. I have recently acquired a new SherpaSoft blanket from Bed, Bath, and Beyond which is amazing. It is thick, soft, and warm and happened to be on clearance plus I was able to use one of their coupons for it.

I absolutely love a down comforter, but I'm allergic to actual down. I stumbled across the Pinzon Down Alternative comforter at Amazon, I have had mine for nearly 5 years and it is still in excellent condition. Duvet cover is super personal depending on style, but if you have a thing for flannel, I highly recommend the Pinzon flannel duvet cover as well. Another thing I've had for years and love, the Pinzon 190-gram is my favorite flannel, even above LL Bean and Lands' End.

Due to some surprise issues (hello, holes in my former (not the Target) favorite sheets!) I also ended up going on a spree and replacing some bedding basics last weekend. I have a memory foam topper on my mattress, which means I needed a cotton mattress pad/cover otherwise my topper turned into a heat-generating slab of concrete. I tried something from a local store that didn't work, ended up back at Amazon for the Zen Bamboo Ultra Soft Mattress Topper. Slept on it last night and it was fabulous.

And finally, after a couple of failures, I stumbled across this adjustable! pillow from Coop Home Goods on Amazon, which is absolutely amazing. I like a soft pillow but need neck support, but most pillows are too thick for me. I love that you can simply zip the pillow open and remove a bit of the fill, or add more if you like a firmer pillow (they sell additional fill linked from the pillow page.)

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it! Guy Gavriel Kay is an amazing writer and I think everyone should read his books. They evoke so many emotions!

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related! How about free? Read the classics!

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...) NO.

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. I think by definition art is not useful, but very beautiful!

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why? Because Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion are amazing.

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain. For stabbing. It's a silent weapon, which is best. You don't want to attract more of the undead.

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. My current goal is to be more active as I try to lose weight, but foot pain is a big barrier to walking/exercising more. I have heard awesome things about this foot wrap and it would be a huge help and keep me from being in pain as I exercise!

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items. It's hard to find in stores now, weirdly. And it's all I wear daily!

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why? PS4!

14.) Something bigger than a bread box. EDIT A bread box is typically similar in size to a microwave. Home. Made. Cappucino. It can go right next to the breadbox.

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball. This is pocket sized!

16.) Something that smells wonderful. Apples!!

17.) A (SFW) toy. She-Ra is pretty safe for work

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school. If you're in college, you're gonna need one of these.

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be. Adventure Time! Come on, grab your friends!


20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. What's mrore amazing than being INSANELY comfortable? Just look at it! Get inspired to sleep. It looks so comfy, I can't handle it.

1. Temperatures around 70-75 with some sun. Perfect shorts weather that you aren't sweating a tit off. I'm also a fan of rainy days ONLY when I have the option to lay around in comfy clothes and watch movies all day.
   
   
2. Something with some sort of potatoes. Meatloaf is pretty perfect. I could eat meatloaf a lot. You can add some many different things to it to change it up so it's not just plain ol meatloaf. My favorite so far is with fresh mozzarella cheese chunks, panko bread crumbs on top, with some sweet and sour sauce mixed in. Banginggggg.
   
   
3. What I really need right now are the Galaxy bed sheets for my Queen bed. The sheets I have are all flannel's and i'm roasting with it being summer. Thank god for fans.
   
   
4. I think my favorite limb is my left leg. Reason A: Because my thigh has my favorite tattoo on it, which is my beauty and the beast piece. Reason B: My inner calf has my number 13 skeleton key tattoo on it. Reason C: Because I said so.
   
   
5. Favorite aisle, hmm. It's a toss up between the drinks, chips, and cereal aisle.

7. High school favorite class: Art. I took all the art classes I could possible fit into my schedule because 1, art is life. And 2, the art teacher was my favorite. <3

9. 2016 started off realtively decent. Then got a little shakey in february when I got let go. But then a week later I found my current job and it's been pretty damn good so far. I've gone on a roadtrip that was great. And the rest of the year's plans seem to be coming together swimmingly as well. So no complains so far 2016 keep on keeping on.
   
   
10. If my appearance never changed, I think i'd be okay with that. Over the years I've come to like myself for me finally. So if I didn't change, I'd be cool with that.

I love that bed throw! I want one now, haha. I like the throw pillows you chose, too--those are pretty classic. Sometimes chevrons can be too trendy-looking to my eye, but I like those a lot. Good find! :D

The duvet covers you picked out aren't bad at all! The only thing I can think of to say is that you may want something a little brighter, since your other colors are pretty muted. If you go with another light shade, it might look kind of washed out. I like this one, but it's temporarily out of stock. I think I would wait on getting any more throw pillows until you decide on your duvet cover so you can make sure it's a good color match, but I think adding a bit more color would be OK! I keep feeling like it needs something silvery in there, haha. Don't know where that's coming from.

I have a sister who's thirteen and we literally just did this for her as a Christmas present.

Would be easier if I knew what colors and stuff she liked, but this still sounds fun so I will see what I can dig up. >D

I would have loved a set like this as a teenager. It's mature, but also a little whimsical at the same time thanks to the ruching. Seriously I just think ones like this are really stylish. That's the last textured one I swear.

While I'm not sure it's a concern or not, I'd just like to put in a sheepish comment about how something with a lot of white is really hard to maintain since white stains so easily. Something teenage me had a problem with, heck I still have a problem with that. I have black sheets for a reason. :<

In all things storage, think "vertical" or "hidden"/"built-in" to save space.

• Get a bed and bedframe, and put rolling storage containers underneath for your clothes. It saves space AND likely doesn't cost as much as a dresser. Example.
  
• Use a hanging shoe organizer on the back of your door to store stuff. One idea: Use it to store your food more efficiently. Example.
  
• You need more lighting. It's much cheaper (and looks cooler) to hang up lights on the ceiling. Think of draping them in a zig-zag from one end of the room to the other. Cafe lights look awesome.
  
• You'll probably still need at least one extra lamp, though. Tripod lamps look great.
  
• Your bed will be the feature of your room for years; make it look good! Get a light grey or cream-colored duvet, two big white pillows (to sleep on), some decorative grey pillows, and one faux leather lumbar pillow in cognac, to put it in front of the grey pillows and tie it all together.
  
  • Go one step fancier and get a blanket to drape over the bed. Navy blue or emerald green would look good. (Bonus: You have a blanket to curl up with.)
    
• Get nesting tables. These can double as your coffee table, eating space, and extra table space when you have friends over, but will "nest" when the extra table space isn't needed, saving space.
  
• This rug (2115, in navy blue) would look great in the space, it's affordable, and the darker color will be more forgiving of heavy traffic.
  
• If you can only get one plant, either get pothos or monstera. Both make big statements.
  
  Obviously you need a desk and a chair, and probably some bookshelves, but these are the big things I thought of. Good luck!

As others have mentioned. A nice Duvet is worth the money, and a duvet cover makes it very easy to clean and maintain. Personally I love the Ikea Duvet's " HÖNSBÄR", and decent covers off Amazon that come with pillow covers also.

I've had my duvets for over a year and they are still in perfect condition, and very comfy!

Not quite as elaborate as some of the others one here, but I figured some people like the simple style as well. I have a second nightstand coming for the other side, but need to figure out better lamps, if anyone has a suggestion for a good one that keeps in this style.

Congrats on the castle bed. I love it.

I bought this last winter and it is legit the best comforter I have ever owned. My asshole dog has peed on it several times which means it's survived many a machine wash. It hasn't lost a bit of fluff.

I always thought they were the heavy hotel comforters too.

I recently picked this cheap one for my new place. I run hot and this duvet in tandem with my memory foam mattress keeps me pretty toasty at night, borderline too warm. I've read on this sub that the IKEA duvet tends to be low quality and is "crunchy" when you move.

I was going to give you info about synthetic and down stuffing, but I realized that I was mostly talking out of my ass. Down will be warmer, that's all I can say.

You are a life saver! Ok some questions -Medium fill? What are my options? High? Low? Is there an amount of .oz I should look for?
