Graphics Card
It looks like you want to play at 1080p resolution(which is great btw) @60fps or higher. You also seem like you might want to try VR later. Your best options for a graphics card is the 1070 or a 1060. The 1060 is a cheaper option with VERY good performance. Depending on the model you get, you can achieve close performance to a 1070 for under $300.
CPU
To be completely honest with you, an i7-6700k sounds nice and all, but in terms of gaming, its not all that. You want to do streaming and stuff right? Well an i5 6600K would do fine for streaming most games. It really just depends if you're willing to cut cost by looking at performance efficiency. If you don't mind then by all means go with the i7, its a great cpu of course.

Motherboard
*I'm not really sure, if you're getting a k-cpu then you should probably get a z170 board. If you care for aesthetics, I suggest this https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-LGA1151-Intel-Motherboards-GA-Z170X-Gaming/dp/B012N6E996/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482194155&sr=1-2&keywords=z170+motherboard, and https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Performance-Z170A-Motherboard-3X/dp/B01CX4VJP0/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482194948&sr=1-6&keywords=z170+motherboard. I'm not an expert on motherboards but a good msi z170 that looks this nice can't be bad.

You should know that if you decide to go 1440p, you're only gonna be getting 60hz unless you want to spend $500< on a higher refresh rate monitor.

Here's a Gold-Certified 650W thats only about $5 more than the one you have listed. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Warranty-120-G1-0650-XR/dp/B00K85X2AW/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482195157&sr=1-2&keywords=gold+certified+power+supply.

If you decide to go with an i5 and 1060 instead, then you end up saving a couple hundred which you can use for things like a better case or custom sleeves for aesthetics. If you keep that monitor, then I recommend keeping the i7 and getting a 1060 instead.https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-Gaming-GV-N1060G1GAMING-6GD-Graphics/dp/B01IEA1IMQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482195400&sr=1-8&keywords=gtx%2B1060&th=1

All and all its a pretty good build and I wish you the best of luck

I reaally didn't expect this to blow up while I was asleep. I appreciate everyone with the same sentiments. Alright. I've read your comments. I'm going to address all the common stuff.

If anyone cares about my pc specs and the game settings I used I'll list them at the bottom of this comment <3

  1. "WTF just get better wifi?? You don't have fiber dude? what are you ? Poor?"

I actually lol'd at these. I have the best wifi where I live at 70mbps download. It's pretty damn expensive, but I use my computer a lot. Homework, games, youtube, etc., so ultimately it's super worth it. I have spectrum and I live on the west coast. This means that the game is constantly at 80 ping. No, I don't use an ethernet cord. Mainly because I haven't found the time to route it through my house, and honestly I'm not really focused on that right now. My wifi works perfectly fine with everything else. But I mean yeah I guess you guys are right, I should just move to a different state./s

  2. "Uhh, your pc has nothing to do with your wifi smh idiot lol"

    That's the joke homie.

What I'm referring to is the fact that after working $8/hr at a fast-food restaurant as a high school student and building a $1000+ computer solely for this game, shit like this still happens. Why does it happen? Because of bluehole's shitty servers and net-code. Something that is completely out of my control.

  3. "people still play this game?? ? Go play something else"

I enjoy this game. It's brought many good memories, and it keeps on bringin' 'em. I'm aware of all the downfalls it has. Trust me I'm more than 120% aware. Just because it's not your style, or it's hard, or the randomness gets to you, it doesn't mean it can't be fun for other people. I've got tired of this fucking game too. Many times lol. It's still enjoyable to me however, so I'll still play it.

    My specs & game settings:

I used this gaming laptop up until roughly 800 hours.

CPU: Intel i7-8700 - Link (out of stock as of October/6/19)

    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000 - Link

GPU: MSI Geforce 1660ti - Link

Motherboard: MSI Z-370 Pro - Link

    Monitor: MSI Optix MAG 24" 144hz 1ms - Link

Power Supply: EVGA Supernova 650w 80+ Gold - Link

    Storage: ADATA 2TB SSD Link

Fan and cooler are pretty easy to find.

Alright I managed to save around 40-ish pounds but I feel like I actually upgraded your build by quite a bit. Most important things are:

u/SMQRSKEET · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thank you very much for your reply. Wasting money is something I am very concerned about, I don't even know if I will use half of this. I have responded with some queries if that is ok?

I thought I needed thermal paste for the CPU? (This was one of the things I am worried about in terms of building)

I have added this motherboard https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012D7HBTA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE but I am not sure what you mean about unlocked CPU, are you referring to overclocking?

Would any SSD suffice? I am only planning to run the OS from it so don't want to over do it. The samsung ssd's seemed to have higher specs than sandisk, intel etc. What would you recommend in place?

I actually like the case, I think it looks awesome https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01HUFNX4M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_9?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE the one I'd selected was just for a price reference although I appreciate I should have included this. I would like a nice looking one but don't want to spend too much on it. Is this one any better?

Thanks for the fan info, would you recommend any fans or is it best to leave them out completely?

Finally, my room is quite small and I was worried that a 27' would be too close to me. I understand I could sell at a later date and get a 24' but with me now buying everything from Amazon I thought I would get a 24' 1440p. Is it a waste would you say? Should I go to 27'?

Thanks a lot for your help. Really appreciated.

Price beat at CanadaComputers 69.99 vs 59.99 -10% of difference = 58.49$

Notes:

Went with a different Mobo that supports 2nd gen chips from Ryzen and has WiFi built in. The other Mobo I recommended would have required a WiFi card. The price is essentially the same if you consider a decent WiFi card will be 40-50$.

The RX590 comes with a free game.

I put the 2700x in the build as you mentioned you do some workstation style tasks. The 3600 will outperform it in games but not enough to say the 2700x isn’t a good chip to game on.
If you would rather the 3600, you’ll need someone to update the bios for you if you go to a physical MemEx location,
the 3600 is currently out of stock at MemEx last night when I checked.
The 2700x has been on and off sale prices lots lately so if you feel like saving 20$ you could wait a bit.

Storage wise if you feel that 480gb is not enough for you currently you could opt for a small SSD just for windows and throw a larger HDD in just for storage.
SSD + HDD price beat from here = 82.28$ instead of 64.99$ for the larger SSD.

the 650w cx650m PSU is way more then you’ll need with this current build but does offer headroom for hungrier CPU and GPU down the line. It’s the same price as the cx550m atm but the 550 has a nail in rebate of 20$ making it 59.99$ if you have the patience for MIR and want to get 20$ back down the road it will also be plenty good enough for this build.
Technically a 450w could power this rig but I like to keep a 100w headroom on PSU’s so I’d say 550w minimum.

For the case, I recommend the shit out of this FD Focus. 2 decent fans, nice design inside for airflow, filtered mesh front over intake fans and beginners can cable manage in it. It’s also 60$ right now which is killer imo.

Lastly, this is by no means the cheapest route, you could probably save a bit going through other retailers for certain parts MemEx doesn’t carry but I like simplicity.

GL, any questions just ask.

There's still the X470 board on the list, I assume it's there because you overlooked it, not because you want two motherboards.

  1. 2600X makes no sense. Really.. Maybe, maybe, if the price difference was smaller, like $20, tops, then the higher base clock might be kinda worth it, but not when it's at $60. The next logical step up from 2600 is Ryzen 7 2700, as that gains you 2 more cores. For the $225 the 2600X costs. sidegrading to 7 1700 could be considered instead, but it would mean trading single core performance for multicore and would make sense if you were focused on content creation/rendering/productivity more than on gaming (aka stuff that can benefit more from more cores/threads and not from higher base clock).

  2. That mobo is just as overpriced as the previous one, this time you're paying for Rog Strix branding and RGB. But if you insist, I'm not gonna argue. But let me present you with Gigabyte Aorus B450, which offers the same features Strix has (including RGB), but also has an integrated wifi card (that could come in handy), better cooling on power section and will save you from having to deal with less-than-stellar Asus' bios, all for $14 less. I also dig the aesthetics way more (especially the funny little radiators covering m.2 ports and branding on the pcb), but that's a personal thing. It cuts 2 pcie x1 ports, but - unless you're running 5 different expansion cards (I can't even begin figuring out who would need so many and what would they be used to in a regular gaming pc) - it's a non-issue.

The gpu choice is solid, can't really comment on chassis choice, as it's definitely not my aesthetics, but CM makes solid cases in terms of production quality, so if you dig the looks - it will be fine.

Make sure to check in here before making the final purchase (unless you do that in like a week or two), a lot can change in hardware market in just a few weeks, and your choice, while it's optimal by now, might be totally invalid come next month.

Btw, have you figured in what order you want to make your purchases? I would normally advice on getting the gpu first, as you won't be able to use any of the rest until the whole lot arrives, but, as the next gen nvidia gpus are to drop next week, it might be worth it to sit on this one. Only high end ($600+) gpus are slated for release on the 20th, but the mid range should soon follow (it's usually within two weeks to a month), maybe nvidia would want to one up AMD for the mid range card with something, and even if they won't, at least the current gen prices will go down a bit.

Sorry for the late response.

To answer your first question, task that benefit from the extra cores and threads in the 9 3900X, such as productivity, video editing, and rendering gives the 9 3900X its value over the 7 3700X and i9-9900k. In other task, such as gaming, the price increase from the 7 3700x to the 9 3900x wouldn't be as easily justifiable since many games don't benefit from more cores and threads, but higher single core performance and higher clock speeds.

To answer your second question, If you were willing to spend $210 on the Tachi, then a X570 motherboard in that same price range will already come pre-loaded with the BIOS update, and will have other features. If you'd want to save, look at that list and find a motherboard that would allow you to save more as all of those are great motherboards that them to be USB Bios flashed.

For example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T2FWCYG/?tag=pcpapi-20

Same price range as the Tachi, but has Wifi, power phase heatsinks, IO shields, etc. But a lot of the extra features aren't necessary and may not benefit you. Some motherboards on newegg can also be combo'd and save you an extra 20 or 30 dollars depending on the combo.

Check /r/buildapcsales for those.

If you would like more assistance, then tell me what you need help with. I will be heading to bed though, so I will answer as soon as I can in the morning. Have a great night!

As someone suggested, the CPU is too powerful for that GPU. If you don't plan on getting a better GPU the RX 480 is perfect for 1080p +60fps max settings and can do really good 1440p 60fps gaming on some games if you reduce the settings a bit.

These are my suggested changes saving you money:

A i5-7500 is more than enough power for the RX 480 and for multitasking. You can use stock cooler with no problem.

A Z270 would be kinda overkill, a b250m will handle everything good w/o a problem, this model specifically has 4 ram slots, other micro ATX models just have 2 slots, so if you want to upgrade this is a nice mobo. Only thing is that the PCIe Slot is really close to the RAM slots so if you ever need to replace RAM, you would need to remove the GPU first. If you want an ATX sized mobo, here's another option https://www.amazon.com/MSI-B250-Motherboard-PC-MATE/dp/B01N4LCX2D/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491336563&sr=8-1&keywords=B250%2Bpc%2Bmate&th=1

Changed your SSD to a PNY with 240GB. Sandisk SSD PLUS performance varies a LOT. Sandisk doesn't specify important specs from the SSD unlike their other lines of products, like 4k speeds and if its TLC or MLC nand. And I've been reading on some sites that despite having a model number, the SSD are not made with the same components, you can get a shitty performing SSD or a good one, (This happened to me and a friend that built the same machine with same parts but his SSD is somehow 20% slower than mine).

With this you saved almost $100 that you can save either for a future upgrade or even better SSD, like the Samsung EVO 850

EDIT: Replaced memory for a cheaper RAM (by cents) but faster. 2133 -> 2400

Looking for some guidance on a cooling setup for my new build:

Here are the components:

Board: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T2FWCYG/

Case: Corsair Crystal X570
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LE0ZKR2/

GPU: EVGA 2080TI FTW3 Ultra (air-cooled)
https://www.newegg.com/evga-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-11g-p4-2487-kr/p/1FT-001K-003E4

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SXMZLP9/

What cooling setup would you recommend? Do I need to get a fan controller?

The case comes with 3 x 120mm fans, but I'd like to replace them with Corsair 120mm RGB fans for added control over the lighting.

I was considering a 6 x 120mm setup (3 fans up front, 2 top, 1 rear) but not sure if the motherboard can support that many fans (does the fan from the included CPU-cooler count toward the total?)... or if that's even an ideal setup.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you!

EDIT: Here are the possible fan configurations for the case, but I'm not sure what's the optimal configuration and what parts I'd need to wire them to the mobo

u/FenixOokami · 4 pointsr/buildapc

I have a few thoughts on this build so I will go through the list you have :)

CPU - For a budget gaming build, this is an excellent choice! And when you do get a dedicated graphics card, you'll have the extra CPU power over the Ryzen 3 model if you need it.

Motherboard - I'm a fan of ASRock, though DO NOT GET THIS MOTHERBOARD. Because it does not include video outputs, making it completely useless without a graphics card to connect to a monitor. This ASRock motherboard also only has 2 slots for RAM, so you'd have to completely replace them if you want to upgrade to 16 GB (8 GB of ram is sufficient for about 90% games, though the newer ones will be using most of it). I would recommend:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XF49QNM/?tag=pcpapi-20
As it has built-in video output and 4 slots for RAM.

RAM - As I said, 8GB will be plenty for a vast majority of games. Though, as some others have commented, you really do need faster RAM at the 3000hz + range to truly take advantage of your APU since it does not have built-in memory like graphics cards do and will be relying on your system memory.

Storage - If you want Samsung, get Samsung. If you just want an SSD, I recommend:
https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-500GB-NAND-Internal/dp/B0784SLQM6/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1521478806&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=crucial+mx500&psc=1
Since it is both newer, $25 cheaper, and performs practically the same.

Case this is entirely up to you. Go with what you want! :)

Power supply 550W is plenty for whatever you will throw at your build.

Hey, I'm from Bangalore and I'm actually looking to upgrade my budget build that I made earlier this year in Feb. Which means I'm selling my Gigabyte B250M-DS3H and Pentium G4560. They're both amazing for a gaming on a budget (I get 60 fps+ easy on high settings on most games) but I'm upgrading to an i7 for work so don't need them anymore. PM me if you're interested, both parts are 7~ months old and I have all the receipts and everything, I promise to give you a fair price :)

If you're looking for something different, check out SP road. You can get some good deals there but be aware that the prices of computer parts have gone up quite a bit over the past few months. Make sure to look up what you need online and then haggle like there's no tomorrow!

EDIT: Notice you mentioned PrimeABGB. Check out The IT Depot as well, they don't charge delivery fees in Bangalore and Chennai afaik, and that's where I got my processor for cheaper than anywhere else.

u/UltraFlyingTurtle · 1 pointr/buildapc

For that price, I would have done the same. That's an excellent deal and that board has lot of reviews (over a hundred on Amazon) so it's pretty popular. Nice job.

I'm tempted to buy one myself even though I just built a new PC. LOL.

Thanks for the update. Most people don't follow up on their posts. Nice of you to do that. Best wishes on your trip to the US.

u/etnguyen03 · 2 pointsr/buildapc
I'd forgo the AIO, get a non-MSI board (they are having/used to have issues with 3rd gen Ryzen and personally I'm not willing to take the risk, reportedly this board, if you buy it from Amazon, comes pre-updated; and if it isn't, you can always use a free AMD bootkit), a cheaper HDD, add an SSD, and a cheaper PSU (you don't need the extra wattage but it is cheaper and still good). If you can run Windows unactivated and are okay with the cosmetic limitations I would get a better GPU (if you can wait for open-air cards in a week or so I would). If you have access to a Microcenter I would get the CPU and this motherboard there, they can update the BIOS for you for free and you can save some (CPU $200, this motherboard $120, less a $50 discount when purchased together).

I 100% did not care for this board. I tried to flash the bios to update because I was getting > 2-4 minute boot times and I never successfully updated. I tried to do a few things like switching to UEFI boot mode with no success. It could have been user error, but I’m not sure. I went with a little bit more expensive MSI board, changed to UEFI boot mode and she booted in less than 6 seconds right out of the box. I’m running a 3700x. You may get this board and never experience this problem. I’m just giving a heads up to be aware of it. I ended going up with the MPG x570 for about 70 bucks more I believe and didn’t have to update the bios, which is nice to be able to get what you want right out of the box. It’s nice to have the WiFi built in if you’re going to use it.

my mobile

Hope this helps.

PLEASE do not let this ruin your decision n getting the motherboard you truly want. I am a simple customer with an opinion. Make sure to do your research.

Hmm good point on the prime boards. this any better? Or any highly rated ones that arent >$120ish?

Im most concerned what will happen when i setup my new build with my old drives. They both still have content including the OS on the SSD. Any in depth heavy or light guides about this happening? Unfortunately took apart my old pc already so i cant do much.

Oh i see. It shouldnt be a problem, and i think even though this case is x10 larger than my older one it should be easier to build in. Id also like a ATX board to potentially put more stuff in it.

Mhm theyre both good which is nice. Id get the cheaper of the semi/full modular(not cheap out ofc, maybe like $69 min). The semi mod isnt much of a problem with the preattached cords.

Recommend any way going about it?

Which of these motherboards is the best for the value for a i5-6600k build in my case? This is my first time with a k-series Intel CPU and I'd like to try some overclocking. I don't really care for the audio/video features on the boards, but do appreciate USB ports and general performance. M.2 and USB Type-C are nice but totally unnecessary for me. Motherboards are my weakness, don't really understand why one can be so much more expensive than another.

Anyway I've been looking at these 3 at the moment:

AsRock Z170A-X1, $80 CAD

Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3, $108 CAD

ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming, $140 CAD

Obviously the AsRock board is pretty attractive to me due to the price, but is there a reason for me to get the more expensive boards?

Thanks!

u/clamchoda · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Friends got $400 CAD. He already has SSD and I plan on making a 1080p build for him.

Any good bundles y'all are aware of? We don't have to buy everything now (probably can't do it with $400) but would like to get as much on sale (recent gen.) as possible!

Thanks in advanced

Edit: I called him up and he's wants to just get the best bang for his buck. He's not concerned with purchasing the entire build right now since $400 is so low.

I'm thinking we're going to pick up the Ryzen 7 2700x for $229 and MSI B450 Gaming Plus for $119 on amazon prime. CPU looks to be the cheapest it's been in a while. They come out to $395 taxes and shipped + Borderlands 3.

u/Tall_bright_stranger · 1 pointr/buildapc

Hmm.

How much is your memory?

You can get 2 of these blocks:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-BLT4G3D1608DT1TX0CEU-Ballistix-Tactical-Memory/dp/B006YG96G8/ref=sr_1_57?ie=UTF8&qid=1370468286&sr=8-57&keywords=8gb+ram

with free shipping to Denmark for 350dkk (you have to buy 2 to get free shipping). At 1600MHz / CL8 (8-8-8-24) they're faster than your average memory.

You could also save a little by getting this case/motherboard combo:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fractal-Design-Core-Series-Micro/dp/B004ZH18G4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370468241&sr=8-1&keywords=core+1000

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-M5A78L-M-USB3-Motherboard-Socket/dp/B0054U7HIO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370468214&sr=8-2&keywords=am3%2B

___

The Core 1000 cannot fit a Hyper 212 cooler... But the motherboard supports up to 140W CPUs so you can OC up to 3,9GHz safely.

This cooler:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Arctic-Cooling-Freezer-Rev-2-Cooler/dp/B002G392ZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370468610&sr=8-1&keywords=freezer+7

Can fit in the Core 1000 micro-ATX case and can easily support a 3,9 or 4GHz overclock, while reducing the noise compared to the stock cooler.

Just my suggestion.

u/Logan_Holmes · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

Since you have the Elgato, I'm assuming you will be recording / streaming. Ryzen is an excellent choice for that sort of thing! I would recommend the Ryzen 5 1600. With It's 6 cores, and 12 threads, it is really nice for content creation. For a motherboard, this is more preference. This is a nice one, but weather or not you will be overclocking affects your motherboard choice a lot with Ryzen. https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GA-AB350M-Gaming-Ryzen-SMART-Motherboard/dp/B06XF49QNM/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1517875519&sr=1-2&keywords=matx+b350

The GTX 1050 is alright, but falls short in triple A games when compared to the 1050ti. With double the vram at MSRP the 1050ti is the much better buy. However, with gpu prices inflating like crazy, the 1050 is looking like the better deal. If you can find a 1050ti for under $200 get it.

u/zornyan · 4 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I wouldn't recommend swapping from a 470 to a 1060.

from that list

get a z170 motherboard, like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B012D7HBTA/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1485611628&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=z170+motherboard&dpPl=1&dpID=51X6HS4RtAL&ref=plSrch

asus, msi, gigabyte, asrock are all very good brands.

you'll want a z170 model board to overclock your cpu.

if you need an incremental upgrade get a rx480, it's basically 1-2% faster than a 1060 especially in new dx12 titles.

get a good mouse, you won't believe how much better a decent gaming mouse is for FPS games. corsair m65 or logitech g502/g402 are very good affordable options.

get a second stick of ram, 16gb will help especially in newer games that can easily use up 8gb of ram.

try and get a small 240GB SSD to use as a boot drove for Windows. huge difference in boot times and general operations.

u/SamsungGalaxyPlayer · 1 pointr/MoneroMining

Only a very small number of motherboard support 7, but here are a few options. One supports 7; the rest support 6. Make sure they are compatible with your CPU (it is easier to pick the motherboard before picking the CPU. Just get the cheapest CPU you can that fits in the motherboard for less than $50):

Congrats on your first build! Of course it depends what you are wanting to do. If you are strictly gaming you'll have a better system if you go for intel at this price point.

Personally I would go for an nvme ssd at that price point (especially if I can get it at $150):

https://www.amazon.ca/XPG-GAMMIX-NAND-Gen3x4-AGAMMIXS11P-1TT-C/dp/B07KZNTZYB/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=nvme+ssd&qid=1575146243&sr=8-4

I'd prefer the nh-d15 for cooling, though you might have to switch to lower profile ram like the corsair lpx to accommodate the second fan:

https://www.amazon.ca/Noctua-NH-D15-Premium-Cooler-NF-A15/dp/B00L7UZMAK/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=nhd15&qid=1575146493&sr=8-1

The x570 motherboard is overkill in my opinion unless you are interested in pcie x4 down the road. This board is $150 right now: https://www.amazon.ca/ASUS-Prime-X470-Pro-Ryzen-Motherboard/dp/B07C57Q1XH/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=amd+motherboard+b470&qid=1575135581&sr=8-5

I might also consider replacing the case fans with noctua fans although this would push your budget up.

Wish I had gone with something more in line with what you have here with my last build rather than the 9900k / 2070 super I'm running.

Processor - Ryzen 5 1600 - 17k

Motherboard - Any good motherboard which support AM4 socket. Dont choose the cheapest one. - GIGABYTE GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 AM4 - 7k

RAM - Any good 8GB DDR4 2400Mhz(or more) RAM HyperX FURY Black 8 GB 2400 - 6k

SSD - Get atleast 250GB. Nvme ssd is much faster than sata ssd. Samsung is the best in SSDs. - Samsung 960 EVO nvme - 11k

Power supply - Get a good power supply. Don't cheap out. This is the one thing keeping your other components safe. Bad power supply can even catch fire. Corsair VS650 - 4.5k

Cabinet - Get whatever you like. You can get cool looking cabinet for less than 2k to 3k. Iball Stallion - 2.5k

Hard disk - You can always buy more storage later- WD internal 2TB -5k

Graphic card - It is a must have because Ryzen doesnt have an internal GPU. Nvidia 1050 Ti - 1050ti -12k

Total - 65K

You will get better prices if you look around. In most cases, it is overpriced on Amazon. I have just mentioned approx prices.

If you want better performance than this, then just spend 5k more on the processor and get Ryzen 1600X + Coolermaster 212 cooler.

Hey, thanks for the tips! I am not planning on overclocking. So maybe I will go with the [i5 6600] (https://www.amazon.com/Intel-I5-6600-FC-LGA14C-Processor-BX80662I56600/dp/B01MCSZLSE/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484581762&sr=1-1&keywords=intel%2Bi5%2B6600&th=1). It looks like it has a cooler bundle option, would you just go with that or buy a CPU cooler separate? Someone else mentioned I should get a better CPU cooler, do you think so too?

Good point about HDD, it might be nice to have one for stuff like Hearthstone which takes a lot of space but doesn't really have much loading.

Yeah the PSU is definitely probably overkill. I bought it already trying to replace a bad PSU on my current system without having any idea what I was doing. Sounds like it should do the trick on a new build though :D

Also I was reading some reviews on tomshardware and this motherboard [ASUS LGA1151 DDR4 DisplayPort HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 H170 ATX Motherboards H170 PRO GAMING] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014F7BQUG/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=17YO1N1J3UY2X&coliid=IPT63L57UOCYA&th=1) was rated pretty well so I might switch my build to use that instead.

u/Kangeata_mina · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Thanks for the explanations, this is exactly the feedback I was looking for. I tend to think of things within a budget and then have a hard time talking myself down, so the CPU and cooler advice in particular makes a lot of sense. Given what some other users are saying here, would using the savings with this build and putting into an Intel CPU make sense?

In regards to the motherboard, I wasn't really sure what impact a 470 vs. a 450 really made but it seems to be limited to features? I really chose the Taichi based on its good reviews and the fact that it has WiFi which is necessary for me. Looking over B450 boards with WiFi this seems to be good and saves a few more dollars. https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI/dp/B07FW85VFT, any other recommendations?

I'm not sure why I wouldn't go with just one 2 TB storage... Just because it seems like everyone says you need two, one to run your OS and the other purely for storage. To clarify that's what you're saying right, to substitute the 2TB for both my previously selected storage units?

PSU - Thanks I needed to hear this, I figured better safe than sorry and overshot it.

u/zouxlol · 1 pointr/buildapc

It can't be OC'd, stock fan is fine if you go with that choice.

I honestly suggest for you to hold out a couple more paydays and get a better processor. For an extra ~$160 you can get an 8350k, a cooler, and motherboard for it. The 300 series motherboards are finally dropping in price making it extremely efficient cost per performance. MSI has one available for $119. You can even keep your DDR4 ram with this option.

The 1070ti is another upgrade option that might make waiting worth it. 1080 performance for less, making it pretty efficient per dollar.

u/tl27Rex · 1 pointr/buildapc

That case is a good budget case.

PCI-e Wifi is fine, though for competitive gaming ethernet is the best.

That motherboard WILL NOT work with a PCI-E network card. I have it!. I recommend a different motherboard. You don't need a mATX board in an ATX case. Here is my reccomendation https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Performance-Crossfire-Motherboard-B450/dp/B07F83RVTC/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=b450+motherboard&qid=1572220052&sr=8-4 (Edit: Heres why, the graphics card covers up the only other pcie slot.

No compatability issues.

A 144hz display would definitely NOT be overkill. In competitive games such as apex, fortnite, overwatch, r6 and csgo you will hit 144fps plenty of the time. Trust me once you get one you can't go back they are so nice.

u/hiimzech · 1 pointr/playark

you need a 1080ti at least to get stream quality ark

I have a devil's canyon so processing power I'm not lacking anything much, but it will be better if you can get a 8700/8700k that should be better.

with that unless your mobo allows you're gonna buy a new one. I recommend those long lasting ones that doesn't necessarily say "GAMING". I'm not going to upgrade my pc anytime soon so the recommendation for this could be a little off

get 16gb of ram at least. the more the merrier.

Ryzen 5 3600 + Asrock b450 steel legend is a good combo. It also has a micro atx version if you’d like smaller form factor.
You can save a bit extra by going with asrock b450m pro4 although there is a chance that it won’t be compatible with 3rd gen ryzen out of the box (look for the sticker). In that case you can email amd and they’ll lend you an upgrade kit for free.
If you can spare an extra $10-20 MSI b450 tomahawk max is a very good board and well worth it IMO. No smaller form factor tho.

u/CrispyFShacker · 1 pointr/buildapc

Others can chime in but you might be better with a 3600/X processor for around $200 and putting the extra $100 towards a 2070 super. Also do you need windows 10 pro? you can save some cash going with home edition. Before spending $107 on a beefy network adapter maybe get the TUF Gaming motherboard with WIFI built in for $10 more and see if it is adequate.

Ok, so this is highly subjective, but a few things that I would do. Also a few questions.

Are you looking to overclock the system?

The drives are you going to want them setup in Raid0? If so I highly recommend against that.

Do you use a wired network at your home/office?

What is the reason for ASUS MB's? I have never had great luck with them, and usually only use Gigabyte.

If you weren't going to over clock it, I would do something like this also I think that you are going to find the extra money spent to over clock just isn't worth it.

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-2-Way-CrossFire-Motherboards-GA-Z170-HD3/dp/B012AQGKXC
32GB of Standard DDR4 RAM if you really can use 64, that is easy enough to upgrade to.
A single new version of the TitanX(This performs much better than the SLI of 1070's on most configurations for about the same price)
Three or four fast SSD's in a smaller GB using RAID5 or RAID10 depending on three or four SSD's

The biggest departure and what we do for pretty much everything is use a FreeNAS system with 6 drive configuration using RaidZ-2. I have used these systems for years and they are bullet proof, I have some systems that run a huge number of drives and very mission critical software. There are some very cool things you can do with them, here is one of the biggest that we have found, you can go from 1TB to 2TB even to 10TB drives and make your effective storage space go from 4TB to 40TB with never having to "copy" a file between servers and you also have the added benefit of built in media servers and that you have two drives that can fail at any one time with no data loss. I have a coupe of these that are in advanced configurations running 30GB/second over 10GB links and each system complete is over 500TB(not GB) they run 24/27/365 with no downtime serving files to the internet at all times.

u/Prinapocalypse · 2 pointsr/buildapc

RAM for sure would give a very noticeable boost in FPS in games. The motherboard would be more for future proofing, features, better build quality and compatibility. If you have to choose one or the other then get the better RAM because it's that big of a difference but ideally I would avoid MSI products personally and go for another more reliable brand. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SXF8GY3/ is my personal recommendation since it comes highly recommended by a lot of reviewers for good build quality and I like Asus BIOS and features but that's subjective.

u/upvoatz · 2 pointsr/Amd

I was looking at these B450 boards from ASrock. If you're not overclocking heavily it should be fine. They're pretty much the same board with minor variations.

Apparently new stock through Amazon has a sticker "Ready for Ryzen 3000" or something that indicates it is pre-flashed to support Zen 2. The boards below also support ECC, which could make them a cheap candidate for a small server build with an HBA for ZFS

You're welcome.:-). Oh and also, you can get an i5 7500 instead of an i5 7600k. They are around 40 dollars cheaper and only have 9% less power. they perform about the same while gaming. Also, this is a better deal on a GTX 1060. And this is a good deal on 8gb ram. Also, a z270 seems overkill for your build if you don't plan on over clocking. A b150 or a b250 would suit you better. This is a good deal. If you get a 120gb SSD, the 1tb hard drive I mentioned, the nzxt s340, the ram I showed you and the b150 that I showed you, you will probably be able to fit in a GTX 1080 instead of a GTX 1060, which is much better. It can run the games you mentioned at 1440p at 144fps on ultra settings or even 4k at 60 fps. Try this list

These 2 are some cheaper good ones I found with a quick search.

The benefit to a better motherboard, is it comes with an 8 pin and a 4 pin connector for the cpu as opposed to cheaper ones with only an 8. This leads to better and more consistent power delivery to the cpu at higher overclocks.

As for the graphics card, look for anything with 2-3 fans or built in water cooling. They will be 20-30 more at the very least but the overclocks will make it worth it.

RAM for ryzen is a very important overclock too, 3200MHz C16 or 3600MHz+ ram are very good choices for ryzen. You can manually overclock past what it is rated for too.

u/Billeur · 20 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

Guess I'll condense what was said in the previous post.

Is this a good deal?

...Not really, considering the motherboard can be had for 245$ at Mikes, and the 3600x at 299$.

Is this worth getting?

Considering the TUF is arguably one of the best budget X570 boards, has Wi-Fi, and puts the combo at 25-30$ over a 3600 combo, I'd say yes if you're to use the stock cooler. If not, the difference between the chips is just not worth it.

Could I do with cheaper?

Yes! you can save ~100$ by going with the 3600 and something like an B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi or, if Wi-Fi isn't a concern, the B450 Tomahawk.

E: words, also changed Tomahawk link because it's OOS online at 149

The ASRock boards are my favorites in this price range, as they have a lot of features for the price and overclock pretty well. The Extreme4 is right in your range, doesn't show up on PcPartPicker for some reason. I have the Extreme6 and am very happy with it; the Extreme4 is pretty similar with fewer bells and whistles.

u/eugkra33 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'm sure that hybrid card will be the coolest running, but I'm always afraid of long term reliability on that extra technology. I'm not really sure how the others compare. I've just always felt that spending $30 on a better cooler was not for me personally. Always just got what was cheapest.

Asus - PRIME B350-PLUS is good enough. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X416NJ1/?tag=pcpapi-20

I personally like micro-ATX builds for space savings, but if you like that case, stick with regular full size ATX.

You did say you wanted a lower price so I went with the 2600X, at 1440p your more GPU limited so the performance hit will be minimal. I went with a better looking case that has PSU shroud and rubber grommets. The PSU is Corsair and 550W but your saving yourself $20 since 550W is sufficient. I changed the monitor for one that has freesync and is 75hz for a more enjoyable gaming experience. Lastly, you could even go with the Aorus Pro with onboard wifi+bt and go with Team 3000MHz ram if you want fit the Ducky better into your budget.

This is a great build. You chose parts that are balanced and complement each other well. Good job!

Only thing is, I would switch to an MSI motherboard. Gigabyte boards don’t have the best reputation…

Haha, okay, thanks a lot. Getting some flak for buying amd but I don't see the issue when it's lasted me for 3 years and through any game I want. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-970A-UD3P-Motherboard-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B00F5R9O46 Did some googling and this came up pretty well recommended so I think I'll go for that one. Not very expensive with a £30 voucher!

u/brunub · 1 pointr/buildapc

Appreciate the tips - the glitz and glammer of the MSI boards did have me looking their way, but I have always used ASUS and Gigabyte and had luck with them.

There is a chance I may go dual GPU in the future and this H170 looks well reviewed and has an agreeable price point: https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-H170-Motherboards-PRO-GAMING/dp/B014F7BQUG/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1467219711&sr=1-2&keywords=H170

Some of the others were not as favorably reviewed.

Sorry I don't know much about PCs but you can keep your case, HDD, SSD.

You can get a Ryzen 5 1600 said to be $219.

An AM4 motherboard is around $100 : Link

Then you can get a Gigabyte RX480 G1 Gaming 8gb for $240 : link

You can get a 8gb DDR4 memory kit for $60 : [link
](https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2400MHz-PC4-19200-Memory/dp/B00UVN2C8O/ref=sr_1_8?

all this will cost you around $610-620. Sorry if this is a bit above your budget. Again, I don't know much about what is best so please forgive me if this is bad in overall value.

Wow you are the man! Thanks so much! I could reuse my HDD now if I reformat it and remove windows 7 from it, my windows 7 is OEM unfortunately :/ so id definitely have to buy a new windows 7 OS. Will it boot up correctly if I just install my cd drive and put it in? Ive never done a clean install but I assume its very simple. Seriously thanks again man, you saved me a bunch of time and money! A few things:

u/AtlasTelamon · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm using a stock Intel CPU heatsink and ASUS H170 Motherboard - when the CPU fan is plugged into the CPU fan pins (to power it), there's a rhythmic, pulsing high pitched ringing noise. I unplugged the CPU fan and plugged it into a port for a regular fan and the ringing stopped. Is this going cause me any issues? Like...is the CPU fan speed constant or does it ramp up as the CPU does and now it won't cause it's not using the correct pins? I now also have to power the case fan with the CPU fan pins.

u/ScotOfTheDay · -1 pointsr/iRacing

A lot of people are suggesting you build a pc, and I suggest you to build one too! My previous PC Build was good enough to run iRacing and, Including a BenQ monitor, cost around the £600 mark. I'll post my specs however some of the parts may be discontinued so I'll try and source similar components if they are.

Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P

AMD (Piledriver) FX-6300 3.50GHz

ASUS GTX 750Ti

1TB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive

BitFenix Comrade Midi Tower

BenQ 22inch Monitor

Let me know if want any of the peripherals(Keyboard/Mouse etc) aswell

Total Cost = ~£543

You might be able to find components cheaper on different websites, especially American based ones(NewEgg).

As for assembly, I followed a tutorial from popular Battlefield YouTuber, JackFrags. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WQxr59KRto He uses old components but the build is more or less the same than the specs above.

You also may want to upgrade the Graphics Card, RAM or CPU. I recently upgraded the 750Ti to a 1060 3GB, FX 6300 to a FX 8350 and RAM by an extra 8GB. Remember, if you do upgrade anything like this, you will most likely need a bigger PSU.

Have fun building :P

Edit: As Raptord put, you should also think about getting a Ryzen CPU. But keep in mind, you would need to get a different motherboard as Ryzen uses an alternative socket to AM3+

Pulled the trigger on a Ryzen 2700x yesterday. Now I’m looking for a motherboard. All the sites I’ve checked recommend the X470 boards over the B450 boards so that’s what I’m targeting. However all of them have mixed reviews at best.

I’ve been leaning towards this one:
Asus Prime X470 Pro

My price limit is about $150-$160. If anyone has any recommendations for an X470 board I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

u/drz400dude1 · 2 pointsr/computerhelp

I just found this board on Amazon Prime Day deals for cheap and I am a fan of Asus, from what I can tell it looks pretty similar to the MSI one you posted. Do you see any issues? It's on sale for $76 which sounds pretty good.

u/eIImcxc · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

How good is this MOBO? Is it better to wait for another one or for a better price?

EDIT1: Seems like it's just 10$ from regular price.

EDIT2: also it's cheaper on amazon ( CDN$ 127.99) (it's not the MAX model)

u/That_One_Foreigner · 2 pointsr/buildapc

If you're on a budget I'd suggest going for an AMD based build. Which would be cheaper. Way cheaper.

FX-4130

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P, I have an older version of this

That would cost you around 100 euros less (I think, I am in England so I don't know for sure)

Then you can get a cheaper case because on a budget build a case should not cost more than 1/10th of the total price. Same company, half the price

From there you can buy another 4 gigabytes of RAM and maybe a better graphic card, but you do not game much so it's not important. You should also buy a aftermarket fan such as this as they are much more quiet than the stock AMD fan.

The power supply you have is also more expensive than you'll need. You can get something like this which will be enough for your needs. look at this website to see how many watts you need. As long as you get a PSU from a good company which is at least bronze certified you will not have problems.

You'll also need a DVD drive to install Windows and extra SATA cables because you may not get enough in the box.

EDIT: The case is wrong size. Unless you choose to get a micro ATX motherboard such as this

u/nachos12367 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have the 500GB version of the Samsung 850 EVO and I am very satisfied with it. ALthough, I am only using 40ish gb of the storage capacity with my OS installed, so the 250 would be more than enough. I am using the Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3, and it has more features than I will ever use. Typically, motherboards between the $100-$150 range will have tons of features for the average gamer and avid PC user. Anything over the $150 mark is for those who like the latest and greatest tech, someone who is looking for a very specific color or style, idiots, or extreme power users and heavy overclockers.

u/Mdk_251 · 6 pointsr/buildapcsales

Would an MSI B450-A PRO be a good match for this CPU?

Or should I get something better?

EDIT: I ended up getting the 2600. And plan on staying with the stock fan.

Do I still need a better Mobo?

There's two options. You can spend a little more on a wifi adapter that supports both wifi and bluetooth like this one: https://www.amazon.com/PCE-AC55BT-B1-Wireless-AC1200-Bluetooth-Adapter/dp/B0713RRZMB/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542774149&sr=1-3&keywords=pcie%2Bbluetooth&th=1

However that's going to bring the cost up a little higher and you could be better off making your build look a little more aesthetically pleasing by going with a board that already has wifi and bluetooth built in: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI/dp/B07FW85VFT/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542774433&sr=1-1&keywords=gigabyte+b450

Been looking at the micro atx version of this asrock board for the past few months now while I wait for a better job to come along. The specific reason? There’s no damn screws on the IO 😁. It’s honestly the best board with that io for the price I’ve found. I suggest going ryzen for your streaming needs as most people I’ve seen tend to get a lot better performance per dollar than intel.

I went with the Z97 motherboard you suggested in the same line of thought and it's great if you're thinking of getting one. Generally I really like Gigabyte and MSI products, seem high quality to me with decent prices. Asus's warranty is a bit flakey, but I suppose if buying through Amazon you're fine.

Edit:
Sorry I kinda didn't really answer your question, I think it's also about particular features that people prefer and are willing to sacrifice the chipset for. Eg. more USB 3.0 ports, better OCing, hardware control

It looks like this is one of the best boards for the price. The only other Haswell Refresh boards in this price range are this Gigabyte one, which is also Z97 and this MSI H97 one that's out of stock right now. Are either of those other options good?

Is there any potential downside from getting a microatx b350 motherboard (like this one) if I'll only ever use 1 gpu? Like would the x370 or even just standard atx version give better performance at all (with a 1700)?

Thanks for any help!

u/Angels1928 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Thanks for the comments everyone, they were very helpful. I ended up getting:

AMD 3600X (the 3700X was $100 more)

32GB of Corsair LPX (crazy how cheap RAM is now, went with 32gb instead of 16gb)

MSI X570 Gaming Edge mobo

Came out to $630 with a free copy of BL3

Been doing some research and it looks like more people are having better luck with this gigabyte one.

Anyone know anything about this or success stories on any combo? I really liked the mild white led on the corsair ram :/

u/KristenK · 1 pointr/buildapc

How is this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Z97P-D3-LGA1150-Motherboard-USB3-0/dp/B00K9R1OCW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416863765&sr=8-1&keywords=z97

Also not entirely sure on overclocking. My friend said to get the 4690k CPU as it will be good later on if I did want to overclock it. Is it relatively simple to do/ safe?

u/ArchieK · 1 pointr/buildapc

For the processor, if your budget allows it, get an AMD FX 8350. It's a bit more, but it has 6 extra cores and is generally better for gaming.

Motherboardwise, it's fine. If you go for the FX 8350, you'll need to find an AM3+ board. I recommend this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-M5A78L-M-USB3-Motherboard-Socket/dp/B0054U7HIO/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1412531357&sr=1-1&keywords=am3%2B+motherboard

u/LTX_Devin · 1 pointr/buildapc

The FX-8350 is an alright processor. I’m unsure of your budget, but if you would be able to get a new motherboard (here is a decent AM4 mobo for $88), then I would suggest getting the Ryzen 3 2200G or Ryzen 5 2600 (whichever you could fit into your budget). The AM4 processors are SO much better than the AM3s and if you’re going to upgrade, I’d get AM4, rather than cutting corners now and costing you more money later on.

I was going to keep my current ram, 2 8gig corsair chips. I can't remember the clock speed on them though. The mobo was some I found on amazon since I have a 100dollar amazon gift card but I think I'm going to go with one of the Gigabyte ones because my current Gigabyte has been nice but I'm open to suggestions.

I was mainly looking at theses 2:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015CQ8D46/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3N08ZNSY077CK&coliid=I3GCDX17EY95LD&psc=1

and

Edit: found the ram, it's only 1333mHz but it is 3 years old too and I'll probably upgrade to ddr4 when I get the chance seeing as 2 8gig chips of ddr4 are as expensive as a single one of my 8gig ddr3's back in the day.

u/decgtec · 2 pointsr/buildapc

If you don't want to overclock and still want a solid quad core and motherboard, you could probably save some money and scale down a bit.

I would recommend at slightly cheaper 7500: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MZZJ1P0/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493079388&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=intel+i5+cpu+7th+gen&dpPl=1&dpID=51XrkNI7q%2BL&ref=plSrch

It's a very similar CPU for 30 less and comes with the only CPU cooler you'd need and will also allow your 1070 to stretch its legs.

I'd also change the motherboard to a cheaper:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N4LCX2D/ref=pd_aw_sim_147_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=9AKNKZ6TPFCK4CAMX5G1&dpPl=1&dpID=81TTTSvch5L

No need to spend twice as much on the one you picked that has the same features and only looks a little better.

Hey. I recommend going on a third party website to buy Windows 10. As for the video card, you can either cheap out and go for a lower graphics card like the RX 580 8GB or RX VEGA 64. As for the motherboard, I recommend picking up this motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Gaming-B350-Motherboard-TOMAHAWK/dp/B06WVFFXXL/ref=sr_1_11?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1550390379&sr=1-11&keywords=am4+motherboard (If you don't mind the red LEDs)

Otherwise, you could buy https://www.amazon.com/Ryzen-Gaming-Motherboard-Prime-B450-Plus/dp/B07FKT5CTH/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1550390368&sr=1-2&keywords=b450+motherboard this one for a tad more expensive.

You can also replace the SSD with a 120GB SSD and buying a 1TB HDD. It might be more expensive, but it will be more reliable.

Ultimately, I highly recommend you go for a cheaper GPU.

u/Surpex · 1 pointr/ryzen

Well, glad I decided to avoid it! I ended up going with this, though I didn't really research if it was better. Hopefully so!

u/KhajitSkooma · 1 pointr/RateMyPC

Pretty shitty.

  • Only DDR3 12GB of RAM, DDR4 has been out since 2014.
  • 1TB harddrive is okay, if it's in good condition.
  • 760 is pretty outdated but just like the 1050ti and should be upgraded to something a bit better when the craze for mining is gone.
  • I5 is going old and not too good for gaming. Try this.
  • The motherboard i'm guessing takes DDR3 and not DDR4 so you should upgrade to the B350 only if you're going for the AMD card!
u/Broadbanned · 1 pointr/buildapc

Also, this AsRock brand board is 3rd gen ready out of the box:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MV7LR1B/

The things I'd look for in a board are:

Intel LAN

Realtek ALC 1220 audio chip

M.2 NVMe as well as SATA capability in the same slot, some are one or the other only.

Those are generally higher priced "premium" hardware, for example the flagship MSI Gaming Pro Carbon is likely the only model you might find Intel LAN on. I personally find those items worth it though :)

u/ckeogh720 · 1 pointr/Amd

Usually every company is comparable but for B450, msi has the best boards and you should really get an msi board. Get this board for 96 dollars, and you can bios upgrade to Ryzen 3000 if you wanted with just a thumb drive and no ryzen 2000 cpu. If you are paying over 190 for that Ryzen 2700 and this build is just for gaming, you should consider a ryzen 5 3600 because it will have better gaming performance. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F83RVTC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2RFlDbMHM81ZH

u/constantino1 · 1 pointr/buildapc

eh, 4790k costs the same as a 7700k, but the ram point is valid. Maybe you are not in the US which can affect costs.

So of the 3 chips you listed, you definitely want the intel and you would want a Z97 mobo like this one

This is good, depending what your ram speed is currently as it's not listed. But if the mobo supports a 3600mhz ram, try to find that if not 3200mhz is fine. And GPU prices will probably change once your ready to buy, so dont worry until your there.

Way better than the b450 boards and only 10$ more (it's 150$ right now) also, if you got the white 220t it colour-match the case !

The x470 Strix is better and I would get that over the prime but if you want to save 10$, it's also a good option. if you are a novice then you don't need the extra features of the strix…

The X570 boards around 200$ have poor audio and and have midrange features compared to high end x470 boards (like prime and strix), totally not worth it imo.

u/TragicKid · 3 pointsr/Amd

Btw the X470 Prime Pro is $114 right now and the X370 C6H is $129.

I recommend u/blumethia to look at this tier list and get the best one he can get for his budget. Can also reference this spreadsheet.

u/SilentBobVG · 1 pointr/buildapc

So you want to run two of the cards at the same time? In that case, no. Your motherboard does not support Crossfire.

If you're looking to improve gaming performance, two HD5770's is not really the way to do it anyway. For $80 you can get something with 100x the performance.

Also, for future reference, if you want to hyperlink something you do it like this;

>Will this [graphics card](http://www.freelanddigital.com/product-p/gcj42.htm) work with this [motherboard](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0054U7HIO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1)?

When you do it like that, it'll appear as

>Will this graphics card work with this motherboard?

u/frank_mania · 1 pointr/buildapc

By all means, Asus is the #1 brand for good reason and that's a solid, mid-range line. This model is nearly identical and $30 less, AFAICT the only difference is the sound chip (and if you're running 2.1 sound you don't need more) and the finish/LEDs and the word "gaming" which always tacks $25 on the price, LOL.

u/metalpillbug · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Since I've bought most of my new parts its down to this;
Do I splash out and buy the Z170 Pro Aura from NCIX: http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-z170-pro-gaming-atx-c9-135130.htm?promoid=2235
which apparantly has never been lower that 159.99 after MIR, or something much cheaper like amazons: https://www.amazon.ca/Gigabyte-2-Way-CrossFire-Motherboards-GA-Z170-HD3/dp/B012AQGKXC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1480428768&sr=1-1&keywords=z170+motherboard

I like the minor RGB on the Asus, but its not a deal breaker, and it seems to have gotten generally good reviews. I'll be using an i6600k with 16gb RAM, a Hyper Cooler EVO and and EVGA G2 550W PSU with a Gigabyte gtx 1070 if it makes a difference.

Which, when I check the list of supported RAMs here, I see only up to 2666 / 2999 MHz are supported.

This just means that if I buy a 3200MHz RAM, I'll have to change the speed manually in the BIOS, but it will work, right?

This was the first motherboard that I looked at. Since I have a prime membership with free shipping I've been trying to use Amazon for everything and having it arriving mostly at the same time.

I actually did pick the Kingston SSD on Amazon as I recognized the brand much more. As long as everything in the cart stays about the same price (a few dollar of sales currently on it) then the 1660 Ti should be within the budget as well.

I'm not set on anything honestly. I just want a good computer that will last a while. Is this what you are talking about? You think I should get this with an 8320 instead?

u/Mario_119 · 5 pointsr/cemu

While the $99 Ryzen 3 1200 would get the job done just fine, it could be a bit of a bottleneck if you plan on upgrading your GPU to anything above an RX 580/GTX 1060. For a mere $65 more the Ryzen 5 2600 is a much better choice as far as performance and future proofing go. It would pair quite nicely with any GPU, and won't bottleneck pretty much anything (unless you get something ridiculous like a Titan V, perhaps). As for a motherboard, I've always went with ASUS. The ASUS Prime B350-Plus would be my choice for your price range.

u/kshucker · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

I believe it's limited on PCIe slots. You can only have one GPU. And you're even further limited by only having 2 PCIe x1 slots. It depends on what you want to do with your PC though.

The bigger red flag that I'm seeing is that you're getting a CPU that you can overclock, but you can't overclock with the motherboard you have. If you're going to get a CPU that you can overclock, it is absolutely pointless to get a motherboard that doesn't allow overclocking, even if you don't think you are going to get into overclocking. Get a motherboard that allows it so it's always there for you to do in the future if you choose to do so.

This motherbooard is on sale at the moment for about the same price (edit: it's actually 10 dollars cheaper with the sale and rebate!) as the motherboard you originally chose. Lots more PCIe slots for you to play around with if you want to, and you can overclock with it. A much better motherboard in this situation if you ask me.

u/bloodvaults · 1 pointr/buildapc

RAM: https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-PC4-17000-Unbuffered-288-Pin-Memory/dp/B00MMLUYQK

Would all of that be good, and would that be compatible with what I have currently? Also, two more questions, would I need a more powerful PSU if I got this stuff, and how many SATA ports does this new motherboard have? I don't see it listed anywhere.

Will it be possible/worthwhile to add 16 gigs of a different kind on top of the 8 I have (and if so - which) or should I just go for a 16GB kit and throw out what I currently have?

Edit: The specs for my current kit and the one I'm considering

I really like ASUS. About the M5A78L-M, it's decent. But I would recommend a Gigabyte GA-970A. It's $70 on Amazon.

u/MeCJay12 · 1 pointr/buildapc

First off you need to pick a different CPU/Mobo. I'd recommend a Ryzen 3 1300X and a ASUS Prime B350-Plus. The Ryzen CPU comes with a CPU cooler so you no longer need the one you have. Then you can upgrade to an ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB. This will get you similar CPU performance + OCing and better graphics performance.

I just bought a pair of Fostex th-x00

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075GN9YC4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is my motherboard. Will its sound quality be good enough or will I need a DAC/AMP? Can you recommend one?

u/lucasconnellm · 0 pointsr/buildapc

Hey, sorry for the n00b question, but I picked up https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07FKT5CTH?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title this guy on prime day, and I just wanna make sure, you think that's what the TUF Prime-Plus Gaming is referring to in that chart? I'm just not seeing what the TUF stands for.

Anyways, I also got the 2700x but this is my first build and I dont really plan on doing anything crazy, prolly wont need OC. Would be cool to have the option (got two nice fans for the case, so the chart says I may be able to OC)

As interesting of a build as that would be, I'll go for the regular style PC this time around lol

Does this one work with my build? I had to scroll down a bit further on the logical increments to find one that wasn't a micro.

u/Dodongo23 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thanks, I believe I need to make this build happens, this https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Crossfire-Micro-ATX-Motherboard-B450M/dp/B07F85YW8R/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1542668680&sr=8-1&keywords=msi%2Bb450m%2Bmortar%2Bam4&th=1 is 5 dollars more expensive than my original option, what do you think about that board, that should do it right? I mean for everything including the 3 Ghz memory.

u/noizebox · 1 pointr/buildapc
I'm considering grabbing the i7, with a new mobo for the 1151 socket, also would you recommend me upgrade psu for this as well?

u/sahityaraju1 · 1 pointr/IndianGaming

It is available, I've bought one from a seller who doesn't have an online site but deals through Facebook and apparently it comes with ryzen 3000 support out of the box (has a sticker on it too)

Also there is an atx version on Amazon now

Is this the one? https://www.amazon.ca/TUF-Gaming-X570-Plus-Motherboard-Lighting/dp/B07SXF8GY3/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Asus+TUF+GAMING+X570-PLUS&qid=1574970593&sr=8-3 Might switch it out if you think it's the better choice.

I'm biased towards Nvidia as I've always had GPU's from them and I'm only now warming up to AMD's CPUs, but I'll keep it mind. Thank you.

u/weenydoodle · 0 pointsr/buildapc

Thanks, I think I'll purchase the Ripjaws DDR4.

I need a motherboard that has VGA compatibility, and I'm not sure if the ASRock AB350 fits that. I did a bit of looking and I found the Asus B350 on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Prime-B350-Plus-Ryzen-Motherboard/dp/B06X416NJ1?tag=georiot-pcg-20&ascsubtag=pcg-913810906-20). I figure getting a motherboard made for Ryzen would be worth the extra money in the long run, what do you think?

u/LightVader · 1 pointr/Amd

MSI B450 Gaming Plus is about $100 and is ryzen 3000 ready

just got mine and it said that on the box

LINK

Has other good features, even for RGB if you're into that.

u/KelvinIsAlive · 1 pointr/buildapc

I read all of that and you convinced me, i dont know much about it all so reading through what you said makes sense after looking at the specs of the b450. I will be taking your advice and go with your recommendation
also, just to make sure. is it this one underneath?

u/wandress27 · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

Hey I was looking around at motherboards and MSI has the one you said as well as this one which one is better?

u/recklessbaboon · 1 pointr/PcMasterRaceBuilds

are you sure they aren't selling it? it looks like they are on my end.

anyways, here is one for $100

and one for $75

u/TheSoarGamer · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yeah i realized its an atx but that might not work for me since im gonna be a student abroad i cant have a huge case and mobo with me i saw this gigabyte one how good is it?

Mobo

u/storm_bow · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I'd recommend a b250m motherboard. These natively support 7th gen cpus and have more features only for $10 more. But then again, I would say the same for the cpu.
