I think this is really lovely. Its basic and long for you but the embelishments on the top keep it formal-ish. Where the belt line sits will also emphasize on your hour glass waist and not be too tight. There are LOTS of photos in the reviews and I think there are people with a similar style to your body type as well. Its actually pretty flattering on many types. I think it would look pretty with long gloves or a nice shawl.

https://www.amazon.com/Miusol-Womens-Formal-Floral-Evening/dp/B07SPYQLNT/ref=sr_1_33?keywords=sleeve%2Bgothic%2Bdress&qid=1564774054&s=gateway&sr=8-33&th=1

This one is similar and lacey which makes it a little more formal IMO. It looks really pretty in both the maroon and the navy. I think it needs a belt though for sure, which will help flatter the curves. I love how there is long pleats in a different fabric! Its really pretty. But without the belt I think its not flattering, as youc an see in the pictures in the reviews. This one does give you sleeves though, but they are lacey so they wont be as hot.

https://www.amazon.com/GMHO-Womens-Sleeve-Bridesmaid-Dress/dp/B076CCLYMC/ref=sr_1_151?keywords=sleeve%2Bgothic%2Bdress&qid=1564774348&s=gateway&sr=8-151&th=1

This one is REALLY pretty. I would wear this one personally. Its got a full looking skirt which will help emphasize the curves as well. Its got a black top but I think that the printed bottom will even it out. You can also get it with long sleeves.

https://www.amazon.com/Skirt-Women-Shoulder-Sleeve-Printed/dp/B0772GF7F3/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=vintage+long+sleeve+dress&qid=1564774756&s=gateway&sr=8-5

This one is really pretty too, just dont go white or it looks like a wedding dress lol! Its very whimsical and lacy and pulls a very vintage vibe. Plus it has sleeves!

I initially wanted to buy a maxi which I could wear in the summer, but the material choices were not very flattering. The dresses that I liked were hugging at the hip and made my behind look huge. As someone with wider hips, I wanted an A-line dress and long enough at the same time. So after a lot of looking around, I bought this http://www.amazon.com/Miusol%C2%AE-Womens-Casual-Sleeveless-Vintage/dp/B00Z2LC398?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

I used it for my baby shower and maternity shoot which occurred around week 32-33 of my pregnancy. I took the navy blue one and the darker color in fact had a slimming effect. It made me look pretty! :)

The best thing about this dress is, it was not specifically made for maternity, but it is so long it will still be long enough with a big bump. The reviews are true to the product.

Thank you, you're very sweet and helpful. I don't mind being told by folks on here that I would look better -10-20 pounds (I probably would!) but telling a 23-year old woman who weighs 130 pounds to lose 30-40 is irresponsible and borderline misogynistic. Luckily I've lived long enough to know that that's unrealistic and unhealthy.

I'm planning on getting a haircut to better frame my face and I'm very excited :) I also plan on keeping the vintage-y aesthetic, but making sure I do it in a way that's cute and not old-lady. Here are some dresses I got, because I'm so f'ing excited for them:

Thank you for your recommendations, runssical! I'll try the app.

Are you aware that the same dress is cheaper on Amazon? Link. There are a bunch of cheap, but nice dresses in decent quality on Amazon, if you haven't checked that out yet. For example, Grace Karin and Belle Poque are known for their nice quality and decent prices. Here's a Belle Poque dress you might like. There's also this dress from another designer that looks really promising. They are all <$30.

Whatever you decide to go for, remember that your maids will need a petticoat to go with a swing dress.

u/amadexodus · 10 pointsr/RedPillWomen

Yes! I love the Tom's Ware sleeveless dress; it's at a great length, comfortable, and can very easily be dressed up or down. They'll fit a little more snugly if you have a larger bosom, but I've found that as long as the waist fits, my figure is accentuated very nicely. I have 5 or 6, and they've lasted me well over a year at this point :)

u/swingcake · 16 pointsr/weddingplanning

Oh no, that's awful! If it helps, I own this dress in blue, and it's super comfortable and would look great with your accessories. It comes in a bunch of colors, a wide range of sizes, and is eligible for 2-day shipping. Good luck!

u/redpandas2018 · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Here's an idea from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/MISSMAY-Womens-Vintage-Floral-Cocktail/dp/B01LY3AMY8

Alternatively, you could look for a sleeveless LBD and dress it up with a beautiful scarf or stole to cover your shoulders and upper arms. Good luck!

I've had some interesting results with "bridesmaid dress," "lace bridesmaid dress," "cocktail dress," and "LBD" search terms on Amazon.

I recently bought this dress: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LL50QLA/ref=sxts1ie=UTF8&qid=1485807403&sr=1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65.
It's lovely!

I also bought this convertible bra, which, for $20, is great! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B018957CDU/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

However, just make sure to buy clothing that has a lot of reviews. I've had some experiences that went great, and some that were less than desirable. Getting questions answered really helped me, and I should have listened to the answers more! I had to return and rebuy both items because at first I bought each in a size too big, but my normal size fit fine.

u/lexxy18 · 3 pointsr/femalefashion

This shirt from amazon and the recommended pencil skirts or slacks is a great pairing. I also love the two in one dresses like this to look put together without a lot of effort

u/idislikekittens · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I bought this FFA favourite maxi from Amazon in leopard, though the light green floral is gorgeous.

It's fantastic! The chest area can stand to be just a little bigger but that can be fixed with a different bra. It's very lightweight and comfortable. I'm 5'7 and it hits just above the top of my feet.

u/cncaswell · 2 pointsr/weddingplanning

My friend is planning on wearing something like this for a sparkle themed winery tour bachelorette.

I'm planning something like this for a dapper day at Disney!

u/p_iynx · 21 pointsr/LuLaNo

Here are some amazon options that cost ~$20 or less, all of which are made of soft cottony stretchy fabric:

Short sleeved maxi dress

V neck maxi dress

Super pretty, slightly fitted short sleeved midi dress

V-neck midi-length faux wrap dress

Shorter t-shirt dress

Sleeveless t-shirt/tank dress

Also Old Navy is having a clearance sale and they have awesome stretchy dresses.

u/Derpahontas · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I guess it would have to be a dress since that's the only thing that would cover me up as much as possible while still being only one item and not being a onesie.

Probably this one because it's really pretty. Hopefully this hypothetical situation happens during spring or summer haha.

u/Live_for_flipflops · 3 pointsr/PlusSize

I love these vintage style dresses, they cinch the waist and the wide skirt looks amazing with or without a petticoat. I wore this for a dapper day event in Disney. Im a 18/20 and got the 3x, it was a little roomy but I didnt want it to be too tight or uncomfortable. I used a big elastic belt with it. It is my favorite dress ever and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Here is the link! You can get it in short sleeve and other colors as well. Mine is a size small, and there are tons of review photos to see what it looks like on different body types!

Thank you so much!!!!

My friend wore this in the bright blue for her shower and a skirt and blouse for the rehearsal. Another friend wore a black chiffon maxi dress to her shower. I plan to wear a dress I already own - it's cream, but it has little spiders and scorpions printed all over it (Hot Topic has some surprisingly high-quality stuff.) White to every wedding function isn't much of a thing here in Michigan.

u/bitterbuggyred · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

I ordered this dress for an event and it looked fabulous! 10/10 would recommend.

For Arian I would get this shoot I might buy them for myself right now. Based on her list she seems like a pretty cool chick.

For you this [dress](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073B2CRRZ/?coliid=I1N9L3SVFEFLMO&colid=DVZD2IHRV52U&psc=1&ref\_=lv\_vv\_lig\_dp\_it] it looks so comfortable for summer)

u/RJfrenchie · 10 pointsr/Weddingsunder10k

This is mine

$66 and I'm in love. I opted to cut out the front piece between the v like most of the commenters.

u/jessicat7474 · 5 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I guess it depends. I’d probably go in jeans and a really nice top with some cute flats. But since baby showers are frilly I guess a dress. This is so cute dress with a denim jacket. This is nice but material may be cheap. this both the Amazon dresses would get to you in time. Not sure about the jcrew.

u/Loveinfriends · 3 pointsr/weddingplanning

Amazon! I took a risk in buying mine, since there were no reviews, but I'm so happy with how they came out. My colors also include burgundy, and while the dresses we ordered weren't as dark as I wanted, the company emailed each of my girls for their measurements so each dress fits like a dream. It took several weeks for each dress to arrive.

Hello! So recently I was told that I would be going to the yearly National Sales Conference in LA this April with the rest of my department and that there would be a couple of fancy dinners. I have never been to one of these before so I’m a bit lost on how to dress. My manager told me that it’s a dress or pantsuit event for women. For dresses, this and this were what I was thinking of but any advice would be appreciated!

u/megalegin · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

Thanks! It's from Amazon! Here

u/AncientCatGod · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Arian totally needs the Totoro sweatshirt. It's just too cute!

And you should get yourself a cute summer dress!

u/dreamniffler · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

Is there a way to make this dress -- https://www.amazon.com/GRACE-KARIN-Boatneck-Sleeveless-Vintage/dp/B016XUCYZO?th=1&psc=1 -- interview appropriate (for a job working with kids part time)? Just found out they want to interview me right before a friend's tea party baby shower!

u/tinaismediocre · 3 pointsr/bigboobproblems

I also have another dress that has a similar cut out neckline, the size Medium fits me like a dream and it was dirt cheap on Amazon here is the link if anyone is interested

u/Purplekaem · 2 pointsr/askwomenadvice

Bravissimo is good for this, but they may not ship that quickly to Australia. Two piece dresses that let you buy each piece separately might work. Tailoring just a top will be cheaper and take less time.

u/ridiculouslikethat · 6 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I bought this dress and I just don't think I can pull it off. I feel like Michelle Duggar. Any thoughts on how to style it?

The pattern I had isn’t available, but here’s the solid color listing. If you search they come in patterns too

I’m 5’1 and this is a size small. Photo was from before my reduction, I was a 28HH

I LIVED in dresses while I was pregnant in the summer. My baby was born Sept 9th, and I wore nothing but dresses from Amazon (they have pockets!) and Ingrid & Isabel leggings from April on.

I wear pants regularly again now and can confirm, pants are overrated.

EDIT (links): Amazon with pockets, Amazon with pockets 2, Amazon without pockets, but still good

u/ALT_enveetee · 5 pointsr/weddingplanning

I did remove the sheer covering over the cleavage area and removed the thin sash so I could get a wider one.
