The screen tearing issue is SUPER exaggerated. I've put dozens of hours into the Pocket Go and VERY few games are actually affected by it, pretty much only games with super fast horizontal side scrolling. Racing games with mode7 scrolling and even full 3D GBA games look great. There is a little slowdown on the more graphically intense games, but shutting off the sound from the emulator menu always fixes it.

The display isn' is $10 more with more RAM and a better display. I' a $200 for a GPD XD, the Pocket Go plays thousands of games near perfectly for an insanely low price and I have no idea why it gets so much hate.

EDIT: So the new LDK is only $20 more with more RAM, a 60hz refresh rate and the same horizontal layout. I still think the Pocket GO has the better form factor and is the more handsome console, but I'm actually going to get an LDK as well for better PS1 emulation. Check out the LDK if screen tearing is a deal-breaker for you.

EDIT 2: A really great comparison of the 2 systems is on youtube, they each have their virtues.

I did a group test on USB3 extenders here is what I found out :

I tested using an Asus z170 Deluxe motherboard it has both Intel and AsMedia USB3 ports. I also used the Oculus recommended Inatek 7 port USB 3 Card.

——Worked——

Cables in this category mean the sensor detected as USB3 in Oculus devices and didn’t lose connection and provided solid tracking testing with the headset on, no matter what brand of USB3 port it was connected to (Intel, AsMedia,Inatek).

I bought a real Pandora’s box 6. You can add ROMs to it. I found a set called Community Edition. It added like 1300 new ones along with video previews.
I’m happy with my device.
I bought the 8 button edition. I’d recommend getting the 6 button version u less you want to use it as a joystick.
Here is a link to what I bought from Amazon:

There are a few things. First strongly consider the new NES Classic mini system coming out. It has HDMI out and classic Nintendo games. https://www.nintendo.com/nes-classic

Secondly most Retro game consoles like SNES/N64 have composite out as well with the red/white/yellow cable. You can plug these into a modern HDTV by putting the yellow cable into the Green component plug (if you don't have a yellow hook up).

Also there are several Controllers out there that have emulators built in so you plug it into a PC and can load games.

Also some of these might be good, plug and play arcade stick games. They are fairly cheap fun so if they get destroyed it's not the end of the world. https://www.amazon.com/Pac-Man-Connect-Play-Classic-Games/dp/B0104G9K4Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1469453739&sr=1-1

How in the ever loving balls..... has nobody mentioned devices like this!!

There are literally 100s of them, many of which are reviewed on YouTube, I suggest you do watch those reviews too as there are some great examples and also total trash examples.

u/AggyTheJeeper · 2 pointsr/headphones

Budget - $20 USD, maybe up to $30 if they're really going to be the last I buy for 6+ months

Source - Motorola G5+

Requirements for Isolation - I'd prefer enough to hear someone talking low on a video, but I like to be able to hear the world around me

Preferred Type of Headphone - Apple knockoff-style earbuds - need to be small and portable, but IEMs are extremely painful for me to wear for a long time, and I dislike pretty much everything about the feeling of them, and if forced to use an IEM, I take the rubber off and just use them as crappy earbuds with no bass.

Preferred tonal balance - Balance, used for mostly online video

Past headphones -

https://www.amazon.com/Headphones-Vomercy-Earphones-Microphone-Earbuds/dp/B07536D2P3/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

These are by far the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn, and I'm happy with the sound, but they fall apart within a month or two. I've worn plenty of Apple and Apple-like headphones, but most, including legit Apple ones, are slightly too big for my ears and hurt a bit if left in for more than an hour.

Preferred Music - Mostly videos on Netflix or Youtube, but when I listen to music via headphones, usually classic rock.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Honestly, I want the exact headphones I linked, but I want them to last more than a month. If someone could find me a pair exactly like those, but that would last a long time, I'd happily pay more than the knockoff prices. I'm really not an audiophile, just a broke college kid with weird shaped ears that don't get along with the currently dominant form of headphone (or the very 2000s style of earbuds listed in the Purchase Assistant, my ears are just too small for them).

Other Requirements - I use headphones to talk on the phone most of the time, so a mic is essential, and I quite like the flat cord that the ones I linked have, as it helps get them untangled when I take them out of my pocket.

u/hr00ns · 0 pointsr/ThriftStoreHauls

not sure of quality but you couldve gotten 12 games for $300

or for TV, 2,400 for TV plug and play.

all that said, I would love to have a Rastan and a Shinobi

u/YayaSanogo · 4 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Just going to echo what everyone else is staying here. This case seems to be being sold under different names.

I bought this one in the UK

I love it. It feels very sturdy, it's waterproof (living in London means getting caught in rain fairly often) and the screen protector thing that doubles as a game holder is soft and does it's job. Fits my joycon shoulders and earphones all in a neat package. I recommend it!

u/HopelessSap27 · 1 pointr/cade

Hmmm...I think I might go with Pandora; the games are all easily loaded on, it comes in a single package, and the emulation seems decent. Yeah, it might be a little lazy, especially since I already have a couple ROMS on my computer, but it's convenient. :D Plus, I found this on Amazon, which I've verified IS a legit 3-A device, and I can get it without the ridiculous shipping. XD

I bought mine for the 2nd sensor i got with the Touch controllers, the cable is from CSL and is 5 meter long or also 16 feet like the one you mentioned.
It's a usb 3.0 active repeater cable and is working like a charm.
Got it from here

u/LadyLizardWizard · 1 pointr/Gaming4Gamers

Honestly the mini NES isn't much different than the Atari Flashback although $60 for the mini NES is pretty expensive for hardware that just needs to be powerful enough to run 30 year old software yet be able to output digitally via HDMI. The Atari Flashback is $40, comes with two joysticks, and has 100 games.

u/Kravego · -7 pointsr/Games

$200??

Like, I get the appeal of playing on legit carts. I do.

But why the hell would anyone pay $200 for a device less capable than an emulator device? The Bitboy is only $45. And sure, that product replaces the GBA games with NES game support, but that's only one example.

This seems like a great, sleek device. If it were half the price I'd maybe consider it. At $75, it'd be a no-brainer. $200? Not going to happen.

EDIT: Hell, this product is even cheaper and supports a shitton of platforms.

u/Madu_Scientist · 1 pointr/oculus

Yes, I'm planning on returning it now. Although I was thinking to get the cable that the wiki recommends, which is this one It seems to be slightly cheaper compared to your link and has a number of reviews to back it up a little. Thanks for the suggestion though!

u/CarpSpirit · -7 pointsr/technology

AH Yes thankful to you. I have attempted the to use pacman. Is this version to be working with computer?

http://www.amazon.com/Retro-Arcade-Pac-TV-Game/dp/B0028RZ7NS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314063719&sr=8-1

u/lmns_ · 3 pointsr/flashlight

The cable probably isn't the problem but the USB power adapter. Four cells with 500 mAh each need >2A in total.

This Anker power adapter can deliver >2A on each port: https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B00WLI5E3M/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅZÕÑ&qid=1519164290&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=anker+ladegerät

Your devices will only use as much current as they need, so you can charge your smartphones and other devices as well. You don't need any official charger, just one which delivers enough current and is otherwise safe.

u/JimboLodisC · 2 pointsr/vinyl

Well kind of a bit like how a PC gamer would recommend a game console as a cheap option to get into gaming, but then the person asks if this would be a good purchase. We'd rather you buy an XB1 or PS4 if you can afford it, but we'd also rather you go with a used/older system instead of buying cheap plastic toys.

u/thebearjuden · 1 pointr/gaming

close but no cigar but honestly thank to you and that link I found this link and then based on that ... I FOUND THIS!!!

I'm not 100% sure it is the same but I think it is. It looks very similar!

u/ca1ibos · 1 pointr/oculus

I bought 2 of these recommened in Heaneys Roomscale Guide.

You've got me worried now! I already have the 10m version of this cable and found that the cameras weren't detected connected to this extension when it was plugged into either of my intel USB3.0 ports. Luckily it worked connected to my Asmedia USB3.1 port. I hope these 5m versions work plugged into the Startech card!!

u/Alix1723 · 1 pointr/oculus

I have ordered this active USB 3.0 extension, picking it up today.

According to this guy it works fine, and so do most of the USB 3.0 cables regardless of active/not active.

u/a_large_plant · 2 pointsr/whatisthisthing

Yeah, agreed. And this sort of plug 'n play game is also kind of what I'm wondering if it's a part of: https://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-DreamLife-Interactive-Plug-Game/dp/B0007UPY7M

u/kerplow · 1 pointr/oculus

thanks for your reply! Mine are about 10 feet away from each other, at two different heights (one's base is about 2.5 feet off the ground, the other about 5 feet). I'll test it out a bit more when I get home from work. the extension does seem like the most likely source of problems. it's a 5m active cable, this one here.

...or with this Powerbank to charge the Switch Console?

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00VJT3IUA/?language=en_GB

You really made me want a charger, which can deliver more than 1.5A, but I don't want to pay more than 10€ for a USB-A to USB-C-Cable, because I don't have any other device, which can be charged with USB-C. Is the Pro-Con-cable good enough?

And a USB-C to USB-C-cable is not an option for me (don't ask why).

It includes Mappy, Xevious, Pole Position, and Galaga.

I have the following Plug and Plays:

Activision

Commodore 64

Namco Ms. Pac-Man I need a battery cover for this one.

Namco Pac-Man

Radica Genesis V1 I did the PCM mod on this so I can hear Sonic jump.

I'm working on a series of mods for them all to make the video cables into A/V ports and add AC adaptor plugs to save on batteries. the Activision one is weird, the left shoulder button is the pwoer switch.

u/eavesdroppingyou · 0 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I'm looking for a small wall charger that could be used to charge my switch (console only without dock), an ipad (2018, non-pro) and a mobile phone (Remdi note 7). Ideally would charge 2 at the same time to avoid carrying extra chargers.

I don't want an external battery, I just want to reduce my wall chargers for these 3 devices to 1 if possible. What should i look for output numbers when it come to these chargers? would something like this anker one be ok?

u/snoopunit · 1 pointr/gaming

about 5-10 yrs ago i remember having an rca single button joystick gamepad that had 5 or 6 different games

http://www.amazon.com/Namco-Pac-Man-Plug-Play-Games/dp/B0001GBROQ here's one. I think i still hace these burried in my garage somewhere. maybe i should sell them now haha

alternatively, you can use an xbox controller on the pc with your emulator of choice.

u/ctfbbuck · 1 pointr/OzoneOfftopic

You can get one of these systems (upright or cocktail) for about $650 (on craigslist in columbus) with 60 classic games. That's really cool IMO. Of course, you can get one of these or similar and plug it into your TV for less than $20. :-)

I ordered this 5m USB cable:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MPMFKSI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is the only cable connected to a USB 3 card on my PC. It's not totally reliable but it can work - I'll need to cycle the power on the headset a few times before it will connect properly, but once it's connected it seems reasonably reliable.

I'm using it with this 5m displayport cable which seems fine:

Probably never since they have the virtual console and tons of third party systems have come out with NES games all over them, such as this http://www.amazon.com/Power-Player-76000-76-Joystick/dp/B001U9CYK4/ref=pd_sim_sbs_vg_4

u/II-WalkerGer-II · 1 pointr/oculus

You actually can use longer passive extension cables. I'm using this 5m one. I'm sure not every cable will work, but this one worked for me

u/Hongsta29 · 2 pointsr/oculus

yeah the length limit is 3-5m, but a repeater can be self powered and can go up to 10m, i.e - its still just an extension cable to the end user, for example..

http://www.amazon.co.uk/CSL-repeater-extension-amplification-amplifier/dp/B00MPMFKSI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1458896400&sr=8-2&keywords=usb+active+extension

Yeah. It stinks. Eventually though I got a real gameboy. But when I asked for a console, I got this. And I loved it. But I got tired of the games pre-installed fast, and wanted new games. I never realized it wasn't a real genesis till I saw one. Broke my tiny little poor heart.

My anker power brick is charged with a micro USB port, so it doesn’t really matter which charger you use. The wall charger I have is this one.

Two ports are enough for me and I mostly travel in Europe. If needs be, I’ll just add an adapter to my pack.

It's a 5m active. It's hooked up to my Inateck 4-port powered USB 3 pci-e card.

Note that when I first hooked up the cable weird things ensured with the detected camera position being wrong. I thought the cable was dud. However a reboot solved everything.
