(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best toy foam blasters & guns

That's actually a good price. The suction darts are totally worth it if anyone was on the fence about them. They don't really stick very well, though. I don't know if that's a drawback or not. Also, I've noticed two new(er) blasters which have taken my notice in the past day or two on Amazon.

Stryfe - Go-to for a lot of people, customizable (barrel extension point, stock attachment point and 2 tactical rails), relatively cheap, but only includes a 6 dart magazine.

Rebelle Rapid Red - Girly but has a smooth shell that's good for paint jobs, includes a 12 dart magazine, and is frequently less than $20 on Amazon (from what I've seen), but only has a single tactical rail.

Demolisher - Has a missile launcher, customizable (barrel extension point, stock attachment point and 2 tactical rails), comes with 10 dart magazine and stock attachment, but is more expensive.

Desolator - Right side is clear orange (left side isn't though), comes with a 10 dart magazine, but is Target exclusive, slighly more expensive, and doesn't have barrel or stock attachment points.

There are a few more but I don't think that they're good options for certain reasons:

Hail-Fire - Has higher capacity but to rotate between magazines you need to use your other hand, high capacities make the blaster heavier, it's fatter than any of the other options (can't be holstered at all) & it's more expensive. If you like the idea of it, and think it will work for your loadout, then you should consider it though.

Modulus ECS-10 - Bigger than other options & more expensive.

Rayven - People like it, but it's rare/expensive (it can cost over $50 used) so it might not be in your price range. Plus 1-handed reloading is more difficult.

Cam ECS-12 - Expensive, bigger than other options, and has nearly useless camera

Captain Cassian Andor Eadu blaster - Overpriced & bigger than other options

/u/Mistr_MADness has the right of it. For under half price you can get the basic blaster.

Unless you're sub 5' tall, the stock that comes with the full price version isn't going to function well as a stock. The worker one he recommended is fantastic, I have the black version.

As for how well that blaster stacks up, it's going to depend on your intention. Are you just plinking around the house? This'll be great at that. Are you planning on going to HvZ or some kind of Nerf war? if so, you're either going to want to invest in some spare magazines or look at a turreted blaster, as those are easy to reload on the run.

The recon has excellent potential for modding though! If you happen to come across an original barrel extension you can convert the pistol into a pump-grip rifle, which makes it far easier to prime after you mod it for maximum power!

I'm glad you've discovered and appreciate what we do around here! This hobby is two-fold, one half is modding blasters to hit good velocities and ranges, and the other half is going out to play.

If you're looking for an introduction to modding, then I suggest a Retaliator (you can find one from thrifting or online) and getting this. It'll hit 100 fps over 70 out of the box, and get 60 feet flat over 30. Get some Adventure Force waffles from Walmart and your accuracy will improve drastically

The kit you're referring to is also a Worker product, Goshfun is just one of the distributors selling Worker parts on Amazon. As for whether or not you should bother with it, the replacement plunger/plunger tube is superior to the stock one (not immensely so, but still superior), the replacement open breech is better than the stock one (but they've shoved a 3d-printed air restrictor into it for inexplicable reasons that you'll want to push out, or it actually gets markedly worse performance), and the metal catch is a sturdier part that will stand up to upgrade springs stronger than the one included with the kit itself (not that you should install any of those, as the stock bolt sled isn't sturdy enough to take them and the open breech wouldn't actually give you any benefit past 7kg or so).

Those parts and nothing else will get you performance in the 120-130 FPS ranges, less with any length of faux barrel attached (I would recommend pairing them with an upgraded bolt sled as I don't really trust those to hold up with springs heavier than 5kg, but then I would replace every single internal component in a Retaliator as a matter of course). What were you looking to achieve exactly?

Pick your favorite retail store. See if they'll beat this price. Otherwise you'd do best going by Amazon.

If you want more legit, your best bet will be here. Yes, that says 75 darts. You won't get any packages larger than that currently, without resorting to China's packs of 200 at at time.

My vote is for BOOMco. Stock Rival is going to get better ranges but BOOMco has/can have a better effective range. BOOMco darts keep a constant trajectory throughout their flight where Rival rounds can curve off in directions after 30 or so feet.

If you want to check out BOOMco purchase two Farshots, take the spring out of one and put it in the other one, plug the trigger lock hole in the barrel and enjoy, you just made a 100+fps BOOMco blaster that can shoots lasers all day.

So I'm pretty much in the exact position you're in. Haven't touched a nerf gun in 10+ years but thought it would be fun to play around with at home. I went with the Apollo because its cheap and part of the new "rival" series that shoots foam balls and they look pretty sweet/fun.

I call this the wakey wakey. Perfectly harmless but wow does it give them a jolt. It almost feels like a bucket of cold water and the first time you use it the whole class loses their minds.

The "ones with the cylinders" can't really be modded, I recommend you go with either something like the Falconfire or a Firestrike. You could also get one of these awesome little BOOMco pistols - they hit pretty hard out of the box and can easily be modded to fire over 100fps. If you're not a fan of the M6 look, you can just get a Farshot (same internals) in green and white, neon green and blue, red and white, or grey and red.

Would be interesting to see how many folks liked the shields. Of the half-dozen or so guys I used to play and test with, none of them liked the shields much at all. And after doing several reviews at BL where I knocked BOOMco for it, I noticed newer designs (including the re-release FarShot) omitting them.

I have some Airzookas (Amazon link) that are fun. My dogs have wised up, though, and run when they see them.

I have a antique quack “medical” device that looks like an innocent wood box, only when you touch the metal ends while the handle is cranked, it gives you a mild electrocution (like a static charge).

It's similar to the dynamag which with a minor modification accepts 20 and 40 round clips. It should also accept a fairly good spring upgrade. Good capacity in a small package.

Also if you're ordering today you can pick up 100 darts for $5.

Does it have to be from Amazon? A few people here recommend the dart zone magnum - but Amazon's price is a little above your budget. Target has it for $20 though.

The Magnum's a good pick because it shoots a little harder than most stock Nerf blasters, has a 40 round capacity, and doesn't require you to invest in extra magazines for quick reloads. You can just carry spare darts on you and reload on the fly.

If it's Amazon only, I'd go for the Flipfury or maybe the Stratobow if you're into archery/don't mind the lack of a trigger

I'd say don't stress the business part. Lipo chargers cost too much. And Nerf veterans won't buy IMR setups.

At best you're only going to get $10 to $30 profit per blaster.

More likely you're going to lose money on it.

That said, Stryfes are cheaper, and they are functionally identical.

The Nerf Rapid Red is going for pretty cheap on Amazon right now, currently showing at $14.92. It's the Rebelle (supposedly girl friendly line) reskin of the Stryfe and more or less identical under the shell. Most internal modifications available for the Stryfe will work as is, external modifications need to be adapted to the different shell.

You are going to have to web order it wherever you are. Blasterparts sell on nearly every major Amazon store in Europe as well as shipping direct. Going to their store is the most reliable method, also don't buy the Hard Range kit for the EAT, just get the spring and a stronger catch spring if you are modding it, or the Hobbymods Spring and catch kit.

Note there is no difference between this and the orange Kohls "CS-6" one seen in the USA apart from the fact that it's in a much nicer colour. The original Elite Blue one is better because it comes with a 12 mag (CS-12) instead of two hopeless 6 mags. The stock sold in the Kohls pack is entirely useless for anything other than cosmetic purposes.

The dumb acronym stands for Clip System 6 or Clip System 12, depending on number of darts they hold in the MAGAZINE.

That budget gives you around $40 a blaster, which gives you a lot of leeway. Edit: Since people seem to be confused about this: The paint job is done by people after the fact and the ammo counter is also user made. Look at the Amazon review images... people have painted it themselves and again the ammo counter is not on any models of this. The person made it and retrofitted it themselves. Pretty obvious too when the gun itself only holds like 8 rounds in the magazine and the counter on the gun in the GIF goes to 35.

This is at least twice as expensive as just buying an airzooka which works 10x better.

Use a bucket instead, with a slight taper so the bottom diameter is a bit smaller than the top.

Cut a hole in the bottom of the bucket about an inch smaller in diameter than the bottom of the bucket. Make sure to leave about an inch of the bottom intact around the hole.

Cover the top of the bucket with plastic sheeting, about as thick as a zip top bag. Fix rubberbands or small bungee cords from the sides of the bucket to the middle of the plastic sheeting.

Fire by pulling back on the bungees and letting them go. This snaps the plastic sheeting down, basically doing the same thing as whacking the sides of the box.

It comes in bright red and blue, like the BoomCo skins in Guardians. I did the paint job myself with matte black and gray spray paint.

Unfortunately the darts aren't fired through the barrel, there's an opening between the barrel and the flashlight/handguard. So it might be a bit wonky to install, unless you cut out the AR's barrel and slot in the M4 there.

People opposing WBC should all buy an Airzooka. They're quite effective at causing non-violent annoyance.

Alternatively you can make even larger air cannons using a variety of materials.

EDIT: Nerf guns may also work. Just go into your local toy store and purchase whatever is cheap and shoots cheap projectiles. Airsoft guns may also be a possibility, but those can actually be dangerous and might give them ammunition for litigation.
