I should preface by saying that my skin is oily/acne and comedone-prone and fair (I burn easily), and my hair is fine and straight.

In the morning I use Desert Essence's tea tree face wash along with one of these. My shampoo is Big by Lush, and Sukin Protein Conditioner (I shampoo every day as my hair picks up all the oils from my skin, but I do not condition every day as it weighs my hair down and sometimes causes acne/clogged pores where my hair falls [though the Sukin has not caused any issues so far for me]). I also use the Sukin purifying shampoo once or twice a week as it's much less expensive than Lush. For my bod I usually use a Lush bar soap unless I've picked up a Lush body wash recently (Rockstar soap or Rose Jam body wash [or Snow Fairy if I remember to grab one at Christmas]).

I use one of those hair drying turban towels to try and get most of the water out of my hair before firing up the blow dryer (which I also use every day). I use Andalou Naturals' Lavender & Biotin Full Volume spray on my roots and a spritz or two of Living Proof's Style Lab Instant Texture spray, which I should add is absolutely phenomenal if you have fine, thin, stick-straight hair. Never weighs you down, never gives you static, and smells like a bowl of fresh-picked raspberries. Their volumizing mousse is absolutely amazing as well, but I'm currently trying to save money so a $32 CAD hair product is kind of out of my budget. If budget's no issue, I seriously could not recommend their products enough-- it's the best mousse I've ever used for volume besides the Phyto one (also $$ but well worth it!).

I use a little bit of Sukin's Oil Balancing Mattifying moisturizer on my face right after I get out of the shower so that it absorbs quickly, and I really like it which is saying a lot considering I'm so oily/shiny that most moisturizers feel like they're adding to the problem, but this one doesn't.

Like others have mentioned, E.L.F. plays into my makeup routine a surprising amount. I apply the serum foundation in fair/light with a damp blender (in the summer I buy a container of the same product in the next-darkest colour to mix in). This is a very light coverage product, but it does provide coverage AND SPF, which is crucial to me now that I'm in my 30s. If I'm breaking out, I will dab E.L.F.'s acne-fighting foundation to my zits and blend that out as well using the damp blender. It's a much heavier coverage foundation, which I'm not comfortable wearing on my whole face but do appreciate and reach for often! Couldn't say enough great things about either foundations, though I have also tried the E.L.F. BB cream and the lightest colour available was too orange for me and left me shiny by noon.

Luckily my under eye area hasn't been too bad lately, and I personally like the HD Lifting Concealer (dabbed on and blended out using the blender) for under-eye. I know some people do not like it for this purpose, but it gives a good amount of coverage for me, doesn't settle into lines and creases, and stays on. Notably, even the "light" shade of that product is a bit too dark for me to use on my zits or elsewhere on my face, but it's just the right colour for me to cover the darker under-eye skin. I spritz at this point with the Makeup Mist & Set that I actually decanted into an old Urban Decay All-Nighter spray bottle since the mist it creates is much finer that what comes out of the E.L.F. sprayer.

Eyes: I use the [Hard Candy Eyes The Limit Primer] (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hard-Candy-Eyes-The-Limit-Eye-Shadow-Primer-1-fl-oz/34685842) as it is a spot-on dupe for Urban Decay, which I used for years to keep makeup on my oily lids. I usually buy two when I pick it up at Wal-Mart since I'm so worried they're going to discontinue it. I am a committed user of Physician's Formula's liquid eyeliner pen as the applicator is my all-time liquid liner favorite. Kat Von D's tattoo liner is also wonderful at staying put all day, but I don't reach for it as often simply because I prefer the applicator and finish of the Physician's Formula, but YMMV. For eyeshadows I honestly really like the Wet 'n Wild palettes and have a few of the neutral/beige-y ones (The Naked Truth, Comfort Zone, Walking On Eggshells, etc.) that I never stray from and also hoard from Wal-Mart. I just ditch those silly foam things and use real makeup brushes to apply it. For brows, it's gotta be Anastasia Beverly Hills' original skinny brow pencil; I know it's expensive, but one lasts me about half a year and it's the best match for my particular shade of brunette (lots of 'dark' brow pencils show up way too red/auburn). I set with Essence's Make Me Brow gel. I use an E.L.F. eyelash curler and Essence's Get Big Lashes in waterproof since it is the only mascara that lasts from the wee hours when I start my commute to the very end of very long days. Oh! and it never seems to get clumpy or make my lashes feel brittle either.

The powder I use is my other pricey indulgence: Becca's blotting powder perfector. I sought it out because it's vegan and had good reviews, but I'm not sure if I'll repurchase it since it is so expensive ($46 plus tax up here in Canada). It IS good though and blends out well without leaving that pasty, powdery look on your face and it honestly does last a very long time. For blushes, I go between PUR Minerals's Pur Rocks and Essence's Silky Touch blush in Adorable.

I should also mention that I use Batiste dark brown dry shampoo or Lush's No Drought when my roots get a bit greasy at the end of the day. My go-to body moisturizer in the summer is Lush's Ro's Argan Body Conditioner as I don't have to wait for it to dry in my non air-conditioned apartment and Desert Essence's thick coconut lotion or Soap & Glory's Body Buttercream in the winter. Oh, and Herban Cowboy deodorant in "Love" is my favorite.

Edited to add: Lips! Big fan of The Merry Hempsters' Vegan Hemp lip balm. I order one of each of my favorite 'flavors' (lemon-lime, peppermint, spearmint) when ordering from iHerb. Very moisturizing without clogging the tiny pores around my lips (which unfortunately does happen sometimes). If I do wear lipstick, it's E.L.F.'s matte lip pencil or Essence's longlasting lipstick in Cool Nude.

That was long, sorry. I'm definitely a product junkie and that never changed when I went vegan! Welcome to vegan reddit!

I believe the term you are seeking is "Zero Waste" living, or something close to.

Researching a bit of "zero waste" living products may help you get started with some ideas! I find a lot of material on youtube about zero waste living and am dabbling into the reality of the lifestyle myself. I am not sure if you are a man or woman, or what kinds of products you do use in your bathroom (toiletries, cosmetics, cleaning supplies, etc.) But I figured I would offer a few of my favorite alternatives to common items that you may look into.

Safety razors. Disposable razors/plastic handles with replaceable heads are convenient, yet highly wasteful and overall expensive to maintain. There are lots of stainless steel safety razors on the market with the feature of removable blades (of which you replace and recycle once your current blade has fulfilled it's purpose). Safety razors range from about $25- $50 and can last up to a lifetime. The replaceable razor blades can be found for very cheap (their lifetime lasts according to your usage). Here are amazon links to exemplary items:

Homemade deodorant and/or natural sustainable deodorants: These can be tricky to get started with. Most commercial deodorants use aluminum to block your sweaty glands and completely block the process of perspiration. So, I urge you to take on natural deodorants with patience and give different methods a chance to work for themselves.

You can make your own, in a glass jar with ingredients that are less harmful to your body and this may be the best method to find something that aligns with your own body chemistry. A typical recipe for homemade deodorant would be 1 part coconut oil to 1 part bicarbonate soda (baking soda). BICARBONATE SODA MAY IRRITATE YOUR UNDERARMS. For the first couple weeks of usage, you may experience irritation of your glands purging the aluminum blockage and other toxins built up over time. Baking soda may also cause irritation to those who shave quite frequently, however I have found that applying this mixture at least 30 minutes after I shaved armpits in the shower, that I am less likely to get slight itchiness, if any at all. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY IF THIS METHOD IS NOT TOLERABLE FOR YOU.

If you are not keen on the idea of slathering on some good old homemade, Hippie salve, then Piperwai AND Schmidt's are popular brands with minimal packaging that seem to work for majority of people. These two products still contain bicarbonate soda, but will save you the convenience of not making your own. There are plenty of zero waste options that do not contain bicarbonate soda, but I have found luck with this formula and haven't looked beyond to seek anything else. Again, youtube is a good resource for finding such.

As for soaps, there are many wonderful body, face, and hair soaps available on the market today. Investing in simple bars with paper packaging or reusable storage may be the best option for avoiding excess packaging. There are lots of options available either on Etsy, at your city Whole Foods, or there are usually natural soap options that can be found quite locally at farmers markets and such hopefully in your hometown. Personal preference will go into certain decision making with soaps but bars are usually the best way to avoid said packaging.

Hopefully this offered a small bit of help and information to help you get started in your journey towards minimalism and green-thumb consciousness! Good luck!

I often bring a small alum crystal, dab it with a few drops of water and rub it around my armpits and crotch (and sometimes my feet) a few times a day depending on how much I'm sweating. It coats your skin with a fine layer of double sulfate salts that are completely harmless to humans but prevent the growth of bacteria. It's what I use for deodorant at home every day and it works great if you apply it correctly. (You shouldn't use it inside your vagina- just on the outside areas of your body where bacteria like to grow.)

If I use the alum crystal to freshen up occasionally on the trail, then I'm often smelling pretty fresh when I set up camp. But sometimes when I get to camp, I'll wash with a dab of peppermint Dr. Bronner's in my pits, crotch, and feet, and then wipe away the soap with a damp pack towel. Then re-apply the alum crystal.

Sorry if this is TMI but I also bring baby wipes for my butt crack. Sometimes if I've had coffee in the morning, I'll get a little anal leakage on the trail, so baby wipes are a quick way to clean up that area.

I use the rock after every shower and have used it for about 5 years. You need a bit of moisture so I towel off and the little bit of moisture from the shower is enough. It doesn’t smell and it doesn’t show at all. I then use a regular antiperspirant after it cause I sweat a lot (don’t we all). I think it helps a huge amount. I don’t get b.o. smell that is noticeable at all anymore. I’ve even put my shirts pit right up to my face at the end of the day and take a huge whiff and I don’t smell b.o. just the smell of my antiperspirant. I think what it does (I’m not 100% or anything in this) is neutralize the bacteria that causes the smell. So since it’s neutralized it doesn’t make the smell. I love it and highly recommended it. The one I use is just a stone in a basket I got on amazon

I have been using this one for a year or so and the one I had before I used for around 3 years and it barely shrunk. Unfortunately I dropped it one day and it shattered into a million pieces so I had to get a new one. If you have any other questions about it I will happily answer them to the best of my knowledge. Rock on dude. Ha!

I would stop washing with absolutely anything but a salt bar (https://www.amazon.com/100-Pure-Himalayan-Salt-Single/dp/B001G773BU). And by "washing" I mean, get it wet, rub your hands (which have been washed with normal soap) all over the salt bar, and then rub your wet face with your hands (or pat, whatever). Wait for about 15 seconds at which point your face starts to get a bit itchy (much like when you're in the ocean for the first time in a while).

Who the heck knows what may or may not be breaking out your skin, but using this definitely, at worst, only dehydrates your skin. If you have a moisturizer you're 100% confident does NOT break out your skin then use that as well. If not, I'd try to use Emu Oil (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DKK7Y0/ref=sr_ph_1_s_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1467686003&sr=sr-1&keywords=emu+oil) at night.

For me, a lot of stuff breaks me out that most people use fine...like Cetaphil. But pure salt is pretty basic and emu oil is also pretty basic. When I overuse something or create mayhem, those are what I return to until I've gotten back to neutral.

Sometimes, if I've done something like you just did, I'll add two/three drops of tea tree oil to the emu oil at night. But don't just jump into that OR the emu oil because there is a chance you're sensitive.

I don't know anyone who has a reaction to salt though.

Old Spice Fiji Deodorant + antiperspirant. It smells fucking fantastic, I swear. Safeways often have deodorant walls where I live so look for those if you have them.

But yes, take a lady friend shopping with you (more the merrier as well) and you should get some good help.

u/antimatroids · 1 pointr/JapanTravel

Finished a trip myself last week and the weather was already pretty shitty towards the end. Maybe not cooling off, but for staying comfortable:

  • Travel light: leave almost everything at your hotel or store it at a locker at a train station (200-500 yen/day).
  • Wear moisture-wicking synthetic clothes. I just wore gym T-shirts -- tight-fitting so I'd at least look half-presentable -- and Uniqlo Airism underwear, which certainly lives up to the hype. (Larger sizes are only sold online and at the Ginza flagship store, however.)
  • Plan your laundry. Probably won't be an issue for you, but I went to four cities in five days and I couldn't use the hotels' laundry services since they needed a full day to take care of it.
  • You can find cooling deodorant wipes at the convenience stores which are okay but I found them sort of pointless once it reached 30C+ and humid.

I had a bottle of olive oil that I mistakenly bought a year or two ago because I had forgotten I had just bought another (large) bottle. It was nearing its expiration date and I wasn't even done with the first bottle, so I figured I'd make soap out of it. I got lye and a simple soap mold off amazon for about $25. I already had the oil (which would have been around $10-15), utensils, bowls, and a scale.

If you had to pay for all of that up front, it's probably $50-60, depending on what type of oil you used and whether you wanted to add scents to your soap. I got somewhere around 12 bars from that, so at the high end, you're paying $5/bar of soap, which is pretty high considering it isn't even fancy or professionally made. For your second batch though, you're really only paying for the oil (the bottle of lye will make a bunch of batches), so it goes down to around $1/bar depending on what type of oil you use. You can get Ivory soap off Amazon for around $0.75/bar, so small batch homemade is still more expensive than store-bought, and you need space to store the ingredients/equipment and the soap itself while it cures.

Of your list, deodorant might be the easiest/cheapest thing to make yourself. A lot of the homemade recipes are mostly baking soda and coconut oil, which should be relatively inexpensive. I'd caution you to make a small batch first though, because baking soda can be irritating; my experiment with homemade deodorant was very short-lived. Alternatively, you could try crystal deodorant, which is inexpensive and lasts forever, although it does still have some packaging waste (which like, you'd think they could do better considering their primary audience is eco-people...)

You didn't mention it, but a scrub or lotion bars might also be easier and relatively inexpensive to make yourself. If you want to really cut the costs, why not invite some friends over for a beauty-product-making party? If everyone pitched in a few bucks, that would help cover equipment and bulk ingredients (bulk ingredients that it would take you years to use up by yourself), it'd be fun, and maybe you could nudge some fresh minds towards zero-waste.

u/ma____ · 3 pointsr/fragrance

Great pickup, I love ADG Profumo. When I wear fragrance, I usually pair it with unscented deodorant like this just to make sure I'm not having a million different smells radiate off of me.

u/-Mediocrates- · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

With "natural" type deodorants, rashes (and itching) are caused by the baking soda most likely. Over time the baking soda also stains and darkens the skin with repeated use. (google search something along the lines of "deodorant rash baking soda" to double check what I'm saying)

.

There are a bunch of other things you want to avoid as well besides baking soda; including aluminum and/or potassium alum (alum = short for aluminum) which is used in "natural crystal" type deodorants. Potassium Alum is worse than other types of aluminum too which is ironic as its promoted as a healthy alternative; it accumulates in the brain faster and does more rapid DNA damage. Don't be fooled; what's even more sick is often times these crystal deodorant companies put a pink ribbon on their packaging to imply that its anti-breast cancer, nothing can be further from the truth. Some brands go a step further and state that they are some "blah blah blah breast cancer association's choice" which is also complete BS; straight up lie.

.

I've been using natural and organic deodorants for about a decade. I've pretty much tried them all (or close to it). Hands down the best natural deodorant I have ever used (and still use every day) is by ORGANIC 101. They are USDA certified Organic (so you can actually trust the ingredients), they use zero baking soda (so no rashes), no aluminum (or "alum" which is used to to fool customers), it wont stain clothing, and works all day for me, unless its over 100 degrees or I work out at the gym (to be expected though). I cannot recommend it enough. All their scents are legit but lately Ive been using the Cedarwood Spice and I love it; has a similar scent profile to classic old spice.

.

If interested maybe check it out. They also offer a 30 day money back guarantee https://www.amazon.com/ORGANIC-101-Cedarwood-Certified-Extra-Strength/dp/B01GVZPN3G/ref=sr_1_14_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1498700050&sr=1-14&keywords=organic+deodorant

The first three should take you 80% of the way.

  1. Take your shoes off when you're not climbing. Don't sit or stand around in them. This also helps keep the shape of the shoe.

  2. Wipe your feet before you put your shoes on each time

  3. Get these and put it in your shoes when you're done for the day.

  4. This has worked for some people. I've had mixed results.

  5. Some people say don't wash, but I washed my Moccs with warmish water every few months when I had them. Everything was fine. I used some powder laundry detergent to help get the gunk out, but there's probably some leather soap you can use. Laundry detergent is for cloth.

> Recycle if you don't already

Absolutely! There's no excuse not to recycle. And keep a bag in your car to collect trash while you're on the go, rather than have people toss it out the window.

> Don't buy from non second hand stores like JC penny, macy's and all that.

If you're a college kid wearing jeans and tshirts that's great advice, but it's really hard to find presentable dressy work clothes at thrift stores.

Either nothing's in my size or they're very worn and look about 20 years out-of-date.

> Buy cosmetic items, like deodorant and such from USA based companies

Jungle Man deodorant is great.

My pits hate stick and crystal deodorant but they love this spray stuff. There are like 4 different scents.

u/maxsaxis · 1 pointr/Outlier

After trying a lot of natural deo's (Schmidt's, Lavilin, Arm & Hammer, Tom's, etc) Soapwalla's cream is by far my favorite.

Pros:

  • It's natural/organic/plant-based

  • Effective at odor control (without clogging pores)

  • Has a nice but not overwhelmingly strong scent (can use cologne without feeling like the two scents are competing)

  • Applies easily (as opposed to other 'creams' like Schmidt's, which I found very annoying to have to rub between my fingers to soften/warm up)

  • Packaging has small footprint (doesn't take up excess space in tightly-packed bag like standard tube deo does

  • Has never left stains on my clothing (including Outlier merino t and button-down)

    (Potential) Cons:

  • I have only tried the lavendar scent (other option is citrus, which I plan to try next), which some men may deem as too feminine smelling, although I don't find it to be so

  • It's expensive (but a little goes a long way, and it checks all the boxes for me)

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Naturally-Fresh-Deodorant-Crystal-3-oz/10849906 this is the same brand as the roll-on we got, although we went with one that was purple instead (it had fewer/more basic ingredients). The Wally World website doesn't list that one for some reason. IIRC, this is the spray: http://www.amazon.com/Liquid-Spray-Mist-Deodorant/dp/B000B969B4

It only lists itself as mineral salts, but I managed to discover that Thai Crystal products do use potassium alum generally on some website at some point. It's cheaper and bigger than the RazoRock product, but it does omit the aloe and stuff. I always figured it was better to leave that to a dedicated moisturizing product after the alum was rinsed off, though.

There is a product you can buy at Lowe's or online. It's called ZorbX and it is amazing. 100% safe around pets. I use it all the time. You can spray it in the air or on a surface and it just absorbs the scent. Anything from cat pee to bunny smell and it works. Does not hurt bunnies.

There's one on Amazon but it's a spray which I'm not into.

I purchased this one off of etsy based on the great reviews.

u/Tomcat87 · 5 pointsr/bonnaroo

Have you tried salt sticks? I can't attest to their efficacy personally, but my friend uses them, is prone to sweating, and does not smell. I think you're supposed to use them for a few weeks before they reach their full "potential".

u/neuenono · 11 pointsr/pics

Try the hippie-style underarm crystal thing. It doesn't smell like anything and doesn't keep you from sweating, but it does prevent bacteria from growing and thus keeps you from smelling. It's the underarm pinnacle IMO.

Edit: as someone else posted, here's an example.

Edit 2: The crystals are potassium alum aka potassium aluminum sulfate. Traditional antiperspirants are aluminum chloride. The distinction is as follows: The difference between potassium alum and aluminum chlorohydrate is that potassium alum is a much larger molecule, not thought to be absorbable through human skin. The difference between these two that I experienced is night & day - traditional antiperspirants have me reeking as soon as I miss a single day. In contrast the potassium alum crystal is very forgiving and I never smell bad, even if I miss a day. Everyone's own experience is the thing that matters here, and I'm just putting this out there since it gets so little press.

u/highbynight · 4 pointsr/AskMen

Oh right! Sorry my mistake and thank you so much

I'll just leave this links of what I use here. It looks like they have aluminum, but they've never made me breakout like normal antiperspirant

My daily driver

Smells a tad girly, but I use it occasionally anyway when I want to switch it up + lavender is amazing

u/gkidd · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

Man none of you people know... This right here is the shit for making you dry.

I had a sweaty armpits issue, and I told my wife"that's it, I'm going for a botox treatment", she wouldn't have it because botox is poison and blah blah... She asked me to give this baby a try and if it doesn't work then do what I want.

You have no idea what it does! Just try it man...

p.s. I wish they pay me for how much I praise this product wherever this subject arises.

Primal pit paste is a deodorant that uses baking soda as one of the main ingredients, and it works wonders when it comes to reduce body odor. I use it everyday, it's the best deoderant I have found without aluminium. Here's a link to reviews on Amazon

u/BrokeWhoregan · 1 pointr/savedyouaclick

this stuff alleges not to be, and it works great.

u/Bjr34b · 3 pointsr/weddingplanning

Try using the Gold Bond spray! They sell it at walmart and its a lifesaver for me in the summer. I've been in two outdoor weddings on 95+ degree days and I ended up buying several for both weddings.

u/thepinksalmon · 1 pointr/tattoos

This is the stuff that I've found agrees with me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FBKM7WC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Seems like a similar ingredient list to the one you linked.

u/kagerfef · 4 pointsr/SebDerm

There are much better products available that are more effective for seb derm then gold bond.

And I can't see using a powder on your armpits being an option if you want to leave the house.

The main antifungal is salicyclic acid, which you can find in several off the shelf shampoos or products.

Should also mention I find Menthol, zinc oxide and salicylic acid too harsh for my skin personally, so I prefer selenium sulphide and clometrizole/climbazole based antifungals with milder ingredients.

I was getting underarm rashes severely in the last few years when I was switching around deodorants, and I figured out many of the "natural" deodorants containing baking soda was too strong and would start getting red and sore and oozing within 48 hours of use.

Stopping their use and applying lotriderm ( betamethasone and clotrimazole) would clear up any rash within a week. I still regularly use selenium sulphide shampoo in my armpits just in case.

This product seems to be working best for me so far with no rashes or skin breakouts (and still functioning as a deodorant)

That's the stones, which work but are more annoying to apply.

  • Do as much as you can as early as you can

  • Consider napping in the afternoon and wandering some of the streets later in the evening. Gion, Higashiyama, Fushimi Inari, and downtown (e.g., Pontocho, Kiyamachi) are gorgeous at night, even if many of the attractions are closed.

  • Do shopping in the afternoons (e.g., Nishiki Market, Shinkyogoku, Teramachi, Sanjo, Demachimasugata, Furukawacho, Kyoto Station area, etc.)

  • Buy cooling wipes like these

  • Consider renting a bicycle (moving at speed keeps you a lot cooler than walking all the time

  • Consider indoor activities like the Railway Museum, Handicraft Center, and organized activities such as tea ceremony

  • Spend time down by the river (great on a bicycle) or up in places like Kurama/Kibune, Ohara, Mt. Hiei, etc. where the temps are cooler. Northern Higashiyama is also noticeably cooler than elsewhere in the city because of the flowing water (especially along the Philosopher's Path) and abundance of shade.

  • Not directly related, but go Gozan no Okuribi and Arashiyama Touro Nagashi on the 16th.

I should have been more specific. Although it is not specifically marketed as an anitperspirant, it is effective at preventing sweat. Here it is.

Crystal Mineral Rock Deodorant Spray for Men, Colbalt Sky, 4 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007768ZCA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_M.CEDb35YW1J4

Didn’t try it though, Arms & Hammer unscented deodorant is my favorite and recently started using Tom’s unscented deodorant.

Great stuff. I bought the solid form for a while but I prefer the liquid version. I've seen it at Whole Foods and at Amazon.

u/throwruglife · 1 pointr/fragrance

unscented deodorant is what I usually go for, I have a few others that are basic scents to compliment certain fragrances but I won't wear a complicated scented deodorant with a perfume.

u/flux_daemon · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

There's this one I started using that basically is a crystal: Thai deodorant stone from Amazon:

Deodorant Stones of America: Thai Crystal Deodorant, 4.25 oz (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E0YN1W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_W8zyzb9VEQ82M

I don't want all that fake flowery or fruity scent in my pits anymore. Mind you, it isn't an anti-perspirant as I'm also not trying to prevent the body's natural waste elimination processes. Hope you find something you like and works for you.

u/imnotminkus · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

My uncle swears that if he can just cover all the rotting trash and piss in his house in enough ZorbX, it'll smell beautiful.

u/sejhammer · 1 pointr/ftm

I used to sweat in my arms and crotch all through high school. When 2pm rolled around, I couldn't get home fast enough to change my clothes.

Clinical strength stuff didn't actually help me. I switched to Thai mineral deodorant but the spray form, not the rock one. I add 30 drops of lavender essential oil to have an extra anti-bacterial effect. It genuinely works for me.

Do you wear an undershirt under a button down?

u/aalabrash · 3 pointsr/starterpacks

I use this, it seems to work ok

u/Catgirl33 · 3 pointsr/weddingplanning

Go on amazon buy this! It's called Pit Paste. My mom and aunt swear by it. Until this my mom hasn't found a deodorant that works!

u/kh230805 · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

Ugh. I had a terrible bo issue after having lo. And it lasted for 2-3 months. Now I just feel like I get smellier faster. I use soapwalla It's expensive but it's the only natural deodorant that I've found that works and doesn't make my underarms break out.

u/-sosedka- · 1 pointr/crueltyfree

I’ve tried tons of them! Like went trough most of the WholeFoods shell. The only one that truly worked was primal paste, legit on par with non cruel ones: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O59LG0A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qqicAbAH6Q0H1

deodorant

For exfoliator I get whatever is on sale and use that only on my pits.

u/erin_said · 6 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I use the crystal deodorant, and it's a little odd to get used to at first, but it works great! You have to reaaaaallllly get it all over your underarm area though, not just in the pit...I rub mine a little bit on the sides of my armpit and then a lot farther up and down (like a bit down onto my sideboob area and on my arm where it touches my side boob area). I definitely had a few days where my body was sort of getting used to not having traditional deodorant on, so I was a bit stinky, but it didn't last long. Now the only time I get stinky is if I'm doing really heavy physical activity in the heat, but that would have happened even when I wore normal deodorant. This is the kind that I buy because I hate the dispenser on the stick version, but the stick version works just the same. My favorite thing about it is that it's cheap and it lasts a super long time. The only time I've had to buy new deodorant since I've started using it wasn't because I ran out (I wasn't even close), but it was because I dropped the crystal chunk and it fell awkwardly and shattered.

u/Darmok-on-the-Ocean · 2 pointsr/wicked_edge

I use Jungleman. The brand name sounds dumb, but it's a baking soda based deodorant (so no aluminum) that works really well. Completely scentless too.

I have oily skin, and get a faint but noticable "sour" sort of smell in my beard no matter how often I shampoo it or what I shampoo it with.

Half a dozen sprays of this rubbed in completely eliminate the smell.

I don’t like the soapy/laundry detergent smell of white antiperspirant sticks.

I use a Crystal Deodorant Rock. It has no smell at all. You wet it and rub it on clean skin after you shower. You still sweat, but don’t smell bad. It doesn’t work if you already have even a little bit of body odor already when you use it.

u/sunset7766 · 22 pointsr/AskWomen

I got the travel size of this. You wet it and also wet your clean armpits (can't be put on without cleaning your pits wth soap first) and rub it all around each pit for 30 seconds. It neutralizes the zone, making all the smelly bacteria not smelly anymore. People say you still sweat with it, I say I sweat even less than what I was with regular deodorant, and now I smell like literally nothing in there. Also, the rock lasts forever. That is, unless you drop it in your sink and it breaks, which is why I went with a travel size. I know someone who has the kind where it's a whole rock in a dish like this and she's on year 5 and the darn thing is not done yet.

Also, it was explained to me that one of the reasons aluminum in regular deodorant is bad for you is because since it's a large metal particle, it literally clogs your sweat glands. So in doing that, your telling your body it's basically not doing a good job of sweating (because you're blocking the sweat) so your body is like "omg we need to work harder!" so it produces more and more sweat. After a few years of that, your body is like on hyperdrive of making you sweat, rendering your deodorant useless. So when I switched to the crystal and quit blocking the sweat glands from doing its natural thing, my body was like "hell yeah we're doing a kickass job we don't need to work as hard to push this crap out anymore" and now I don't even sweat almost at all anymore.
