I love this Brand named "teddies", but right now my seller is out, and I'm down to my last half jar...but I digress.

What is important is the fewer ingredients, the better. Teddies is just peanuts and salt, but the reason we have to spend extra on it is because my wife has a severe case of Celiac disease, and Teddies is gluten free certified. If allergies are not a problem, just take some time and see what brand is going to have the fewest added things like palm oil, corn syrup, dehydrated cane solids, sucralose additives...it's all different names for sugar. If it is cheaper for you to buy nuts in bulk and mush them in a processor, all the better. Check your grocery store, and then compare on Amazon; sometimes places really upcharge for the "natural" stuff. It is amazing that you have to often spend more to have less stuff put in your food.

People will argue that a calorie is a calorie, and losing or gaining weight is just a matter of increasing or decreasing fuel input. I believe this, in the same way I believe that painting a masterpiece is simply a matter of applying paint in the proper spots along a canvas. It is technically true, but easier said than done.

Super huge congratulations on getting a job (and one that you like nonetheless) in these tough times!!!! Woo woo!!

Reese's puffs cereal because I won't buy it for myself because I need to be healthier... but I can't help it if I have friends that want to spoil me. ;) lol and of course, since it is the BEST cereal on the planet, you will want some too.

Wellll, if they can't be bothered to read the ingredients/nutrition info, I'd say Nutella deserves to keep the money. Same with people who spend money on homeopathy.

That said, for a better alternative, this stuff is heaven. I eat a serving size very slowly with the tip of my spoon while I watch Dr. Who. It's strongly flavored, salty/sweet, but still not a lot of sugar, I'm pretty sure it's <10g net carbs. Once or twice a week is great for a treat!

So since everyone has pretty much said all there is to say about what you did - i can offer some alternatives.

  • Fat bombs - i make some with artificial sweeteners and some without - make some - seriously they will be life savers. I personally love the taste of peanut butter and so i bought PBFIT - it tastes JUST like peanut butter - 2 tablespoons for 65 cals. I find coconut fat bombs easy to make without sweetener bc i love the taste of coconut - they usually turn out high in fat (which is super filling for me) and low - zero carb.

  • Low carb snacks -
  • seaweed chips (fucking gross to me but im told the herbed ones are good)
  • Cheese chips - cheese in chip form - you'll think you are in heaven
  • Recently purchased These delicious things I know - lots of sugar alcs - but it's erythritol which is not supposed to have an insulin response or put you in a situation where you can't trust a fart (a very important thing when considering sugar alternatives)
  • Pecans - these are the gods of nuts - seriously filling (calorie dense so take care) 1oz = 195 cals with about 1g of carb (4 carbs - 3 fiber - 1 net)

If you prepare properly you can 'gorge' a bit. On shark-week i kind of loosen my calories and as long as i stick to under 20-25g of carbs a day - i call it a win.

u/wearealonetogether · 5 pointsr/Myfitnesspal

It was majorly disappointing to me the first time I weighed a tablespoon of peanut butter!! Lol peanut butter is like the only food I seriously crave a lot. I recently bought this peanut butter powder and it has made a huuuuge difference in my macros (and how much peanut butter I can eat lmao). Def recommend it! Adding you now :)

ETA: I chose this brand because it was the best one I could find that had only peanuts as it’s ingredients; I would imagine there might be cheaper or better tasting brands that have sugar and salt in them if you are used to that kind of peanut butter :)

u/kaledit · 5 pointsr/vegan

Absolutely love it! I put it in salad dressings all the time. Not all brands are created equal though. This one is the best I've had available in the US https://www.amazon.com/Soom-Foods-Ground-Sesame-Tahini/dp/B015WU3X5Q/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1550090343&sr=8-3&keywords=soom+tahini

u/Shoobop_shoobop · 7 pointsr/ketorecipes

Just a heads up if you are thinking about trying this and have NONE of the ingredients;

The stuff you can easily get at your grocery store excluded, ( butter, sour cream, cream cheese, eggs and vanilla extract) buying the ingredients for the first time you are looking at about 75.00 off Amazon.

Call it a 100.00 recipe.

Of course I know you can make more than one batch. The cookies for the crust are 22.00 on amazon and you will get two crusts from one package of 12 cookies before re-upping.

Hope this helps. Below is what I have in my cart. If you can find a less expensive alternative, by all means please let me know. I WILL be making these soon.

On most rides, I'm doing Cytomax in the bottles, Clif gel if I need it, and sometimes Hammer Perpetuem Solids. I don't like bringing solid food with me, because it's bulky in the jersey pockets and usually warm or mushy by the time I eat it. I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough to eat a pb&j sandwich while pushing it in a paceline either. If it's a supported ride with stocked rest stops, I'll grab half a banana or something though.

On longer rides (60+ miles), I feel great if I buy a pack of salted peanuts at the 45 mile rest stop. On longer efforts, I feel I need the fat and protein instead of just relying on sugar from gels and drinks, plus the sodium is good to have. I've seen some small packets of peanut butter lately like this that I may give a try, since it'd be easy to eat like a gel while riding.

u/existie · 2 pointsr/keto

I don't really crave sweets, but the cupcake cheesecakes were really good when I tried them. Carb Smart ice cream. Chocolate almond butter (BEST THING EVER! Savor one serving of it, it's a heavy-hitter calorically and carb-wise. Dip the tip of your spoon in it and savor it. Rinse and repeat. Strongly flavored so this works. It's my Dr. Who snack.). Hot cocoa (heavy cream, cocoa powder or SF syrup, stevia, vanilla/cinnamon... heat up... nom!). Coffee with lots of cream.

u/akawesomesauce · 3 pointsr/fatlogic

I'm in Canada, so I'm not 100% sure, but it does look like if all else fails, you can order it on Amazon.

Amazon also appears to have the hoosier hill farm powdered peanut butter, which is a LOT cheaper than the PB2 brand, but I haven't tried it so I can't speak to the quality, but it does have good reviews and unlike PB2 which has added salt and sugar, the hoosier hill farm stuff is literally just peanuts.

Both of those are fulfilled by amazon as well, so not some third party that advertises one price and then charges twice that much in shipping.

Biscotti Spread.

Because I have tried it, and I would almost declare it better than Nutella. I could show you how to make a delicious frosting out of it, if you were interested!

u/oroku_saki · 1 pointr/Moscow

I just thought I could give you a more healthy and affordable alternative.

Just remember that you are willing to pay $10-15 for a single jar of peanut butter here when it costs $20 for a pack of 6 in the US. Also, that $70-100 peace of technology would be also useful in other scenarios.

u/eileensariot · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

There are other chocolate-hazelnut spreads that are organic and without palm oil; this one uses sunflower oil instead. There are also other fancier versions called "gianduja paste." They're generally more expensive too, but if you have a food processor, you can make your own. Smitten Kitchen has her own version using peanuts; just swap out with hazelnuts.

By the way, good on you for not liking palm oil. I was in Borneo for a field course and saw the effects of palm oil plantations first hand.

Back in ought'9 I built my first PC, and I decided to go all out on parts, everything went smoothly until I installed the cpu into the socket, am AMD 1090T (which was $300 back then) into the motherboard, I inserted it into the motherboard and pushed on the lever to lock it into place. I swore I'd mess up something up with the pins on it, but once I turned it on it worked quite well. I had that pc up until earlier this year when I decided to upgrade to a new Intel Haswell 4770K and I swore I messed up the pins on the motherboard as well installing it in my new pc. (It worked as well) I guess I still have no idea what I'm doing...

As far as I can tell you're doing a great job!

Try adding peanut butter powder (the one without added sugar). In two tablespoons you get 100 cal and 16g of protein. It can really help to boost a smoothie

u/kaidomac · 1 pointr/soylent

$20 for 2 pounds here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NQLE5JC/

I've tried a few different brands & flavors (ex. honey roasted peanut) & I like this plain one the best...doesn't burn my throat (some of the powders did, oddly enough...same effect as eating kale) & adds a nice peanut butter flavor without being overpowering.

One scoop is 12 grams = 50 calories, 6g protein, 4g carbs, & 1.5g fat.

Usually, I try to keep hydrated before long runs- the day before, the night before, etc. I also think if it's going to be a run longer than 1.5 hrs + or if the weather is really hot, then you should bring something with you. I've gotten into the habit of eating one of these pnut butter things around mile 7-8 if I'm going to be running a half. I personally don't like to carry anything in my hands (I never know what to do with my hands!) so I'll carry things in my running belt like a food packet, keys and a small water bottle with a nunn tab dropped in. If you can run with something in your hands, go for it!
Long Run for me is 9+ miles which usually takes me over1.5 hrs

I find it's better to avoid chemically processed food as much as possible. You can find peanut butter with just two ingredients, peanuts and salt. Skippy I've seen with hydrogenated oils(terribad) and Jif likes to add sugar. This looks decent. USA Peanuts and salt, no other additives.

If you're strictly vegan and looking for low fodmap protein, there's protein from:

  • Peanuts (https://smile.amazon.com/Premium-Powdered-Peanut-Butter-Farms/dp/B00NQLE5JC)
  • Brown Rice (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0787ST38Q)
  • Homemade Seitan (if you can tolerate gluten. I happen to not have issues with gluten. I have recipes if you want)
  • Well rinsed, canned garbanzo beans. I can tolerate some limited beans, and I have pushed that up by eating a bit every day. Start with 1/4 cup once/day, wait until you stop farting up a storm from that (usually a week or two), then increase quantity slightly until you can handle more.
  • Quinoa (not really itself a good source of protein, but when used as your carb for the meal can up the protein content a bit)
  • Tofu (extra firm, rinse well, pat dry, start with a little and work up)
  • Pea Protein Isolate (Personally this one is a no-go, but I've heard some people have some luck with it. Handle with care)

If you are just vegetarian + low fodmap, but not vegan:

  • Whey Protein Isolate (https://smile.amazon.com/d/Whey-Protein-Isolate-Powders/Nutricost-Whey-Protein-Isolate-Unflavored/B01HOPJAAE)
  • Quorn Grounds (The only quorn I've found which doesn't have onion or garlic)
  • Eggs (I have quite a bit of trouble with eggs whites, but some don't. You can take 1 tsp baking soda and dissolve it in water to counteract your bad reaction to egg whites a bit. FWIW I have no problem with egg yolks, only the whites)
  • Skyr (I eat a lot of Siggi's plain 0%, or Icelandic Provisions plain skyr. It's like greek yoghurt but with more protein)
