You're probably familiar with most of these already, but these are my favorite foods for filling up on minimal calories. Let me know if you want any additional info about any of them.

  • Puffed corn - 60cal per cup and lots of volume

  • Sugarfree jello cups - 5-15cal each

  • Halo Top ice cream (praise be)

  • All the green leafy vegetables

  • Soup (even cream-based ones can be pretty reasonable)

  • Egg whites

  • Oat fiber

  • Shirataki noodles

  • Tofu

  • Coco Lite - https://cocofoods.com/shop/index.php/coco-lite.html 16cal each. They're light, puffy, large crackers. Kind of like packing peanuts that you'd use to ship something. Not bad with Laughing Cow or something similar on them.

  • Laughing Cow - https://www.thelaughingcow.com/spreadable-cheese-wedges/ Mostly 35cal each.

  • Arctic Frozen ice cream - https://www.arcticzero.com/ 150-300cal per pint. Easier to find than Halo Top, but pretty gross. Good for desperately eating a whole pint of ice cream.

  • Turkey/chicken chili – If you like canned chili, the turkey or chicken based ones are pretty good and have far fewer calories than the beef ones. I like Hormel's Turkey Chili, but it's admittedly pretty white trashy. Always get it with beans. They provide extra protein and fill you up more.

  • Rice cakes – 35cal each and good as a substitute for crackers.

  • PB2 - https://www.amazon.com/PB2-Powdered-Peanut-Butter-6-5/dp/B002GJ9JWS I've never tried this but have heard good things from people who like peanut butter.

  • Protein powder – 150ish calories per serving. Fills you up fast and is cheaper than your premixed drinks.

  • Hot Pockets – If you can stand these, avoid the low fat ones. The regular kinds have about the same amount of calories. 200-300 cal each. Good for a quick, shitty meal.

  • Walden Foods - https://www.waldenfarms.com/ - I've tried their salad dressing and their coffee creamer. You're not going to be wowed by any of their stuff, but for having almost no calories, it can be worth it.

  • ThinSlim Foods - http://www.thinslimfoods.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8 – I haven't tried them, but have only heard good things.

  • Freeze-dried fruit – They are different than "dried" fruit. They've had all the liquid removed, so they're crunchy. 100-150 per bag generally and you can find a bunch of fruits.

  • Sprouts of any kind – alfalfa sprouts, brocolli sprouts, etc. Cheap and filling with good flavor.

  • Greek yogurt – Usually 100cal per serving. Comes in some good flavors, and you can find it pretty much anywhere.

  • Low cal pudding. Either premade or boxed-instant. You can find them in the 25-100cal per serving range. Can be nice for a quick sweet or you can mix it with other stuff.

  • FlatOut Bread - http://www.flatoutbread.com/ There are a bunch of brands that make similar items. Great for making little pizzas, rollups, etc. 90-110cal each.

  • Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Crackers https://crunchmaster.com/products/multi-grain-crackers/ Delicious on their own or with a topping. Roughly 8cal per cracker.

A serving has 1.5g fat compared to about 16g for actual peanut butter. It only has 5g protein compared to 8g for regular peanut butter, though, so if you ate the equivalent amount it would probably be around 2.6g fat.

Just keep 'em away from your dog, if you have one. They're pretty toxic to dogs. They're pretty high in fat, so you probably couldn't get a lot of protein from them without exceeding your caloric requirements but variety is always nice.

I'd recommend them, but they are pretty expensive. They were the best deal for reasonably rated hemp hearts at the time I investigated. 10g protein to 1g fibre. They taste similar to wheat germ, just with a bit of a nuttier/sharper taste.

For baking? I usually don't use anything, but I don't bake a lot of stuff like cakes. Apple sauce and mashed banana are two substitutes that come to mind which are frequently used in baking. You might be able to use silken tofu or arrowroot powder (mostly starch, I don't think it would have much fiber.)

It doesn't seem to have any significant fiber. I don't think I've ever tried it myself.

By the way, if you crave the eggy taste for non-baking stuff there's a salt called kala namak which has a very sulfery-eggy taste. I like to toss some cubed tofu with a bit of cornstarch, kala namak, and black pepper then fry it in a hot pan with some olive oil. Tastes a lot like fried eggs and the texture is pretty much like egg whites.

(Ask your doctor first) but perhaps consider a multivitamin and/or fiber supplement? Just to make sure that, with an altered diet (I am assuming that this is not your normal diet) you are still getting the nutrients that you need (and the fiber to not have the liquid diet wreak havoc).

If you find yourself losing too much weight or unable to keep up calories, drinks such as ensure or boost (etc.) are a good option (also, they make good snacks).

Be careful not to add too many artificial sweeteners to your diet, they tend to irritate the stomach.

Now for some recipes/food suggestions: you seem to be getting a lot of sweeter suggestions, and they seem to be a bit easier to think of (fruits, nut butters, different milks, etc.). Good smoothie additions are: tofu (lots of protein!), well soaked chia seeds (great sources of omega-3 and are much softer and easier to digest than flax seeds), and any sort of protein powder or nut powder.

For more savory foods, the beauty of having a great blender is being able to turn (almost) any soup into a creamy one! Make sure you keep a lot of beans, lentils, seitan, tofu, etc. to keep up your fiber and protein, because meat might be harder to incorporate into your meals.

One of my friends has Crohn's and she uses this website for when she needs to stick to a more liquid diet. Some of the recipes are soft foods, but most are liquid (or can easily be made into mush/liquid). Please let me know if you need any more recipes/tips!

Happy Saturday, ladies <3 I'm just going to take a moment long post to be thankful for keto allowing me to live a normal life. I was diagnosed with MS 2 years ago tomorrow, and I remember what life was like: I had to quit my job, not because I was incapable of working, but because I was incapable of even getting to work (wobbled on my bike, too tired to walk, and I couldn't hold myself upright on a moving bus), or standing for more than a few minutes. The last few nights I came home from work, I would immediately drop to my knees and crawl to the couch. I was eating MMJ oil from the minute I woke up until I literally couldn't stay awake, to control the muscle spasms that were so painful they took my breath away. Less than 2 months later, I had quit smoking and started dairy-free keto.

Possibly exacerbated by my recent foray into higher carb days (<50g), and definitely instigated by relationship stress, I'm having a real-life, honest-to-goodness MS flare up. My weird fit of crushing depression the other night, some new muscle spasms I'm not used to, and fuzzy vision in Mah Bad Eye all culminated in some extra special, Super Deluxe Fatigue that caused me to fall asleep ON the cohabitant last night (oops... at least it was ottoman style and not cuddly?). This sounds bad, but it's actually really wonderful!

The inexplicably suicidal meltdown startled me out of my veganism, and I've stayed under 15g carbs for two days now, so I'm feeling fine this morning. I worked 40 hours this week, and only felt like I needed to go home during my last 2 hours yesterday (I stuck it out). The fatigued pass-out last night resulted in a seriously great night of sleep, but I woke up after 9 hours without an alarm, happy to make my coffee and read the Daily. When I remember being blind in one eye and basically immobile, compared to running 20 miles a week, biking 50 miles a week, working full time, and passing out at 7pm after a long week, I can't even express how fucking excited I am. If this is MS, I'm going to be fine. My life isn't over at all!

Two arbitrary items for Daily relevance: I received the keto Nutella that /u/ketokate-o recommended, and let me just say Holy Forking Shirtballs that stuff is amazing. I'm glad it's a mail-order thing, and I can't just keep a full jar around, because I would absolutely polish off the entire thing in one sitting (I'm pretty sure that would be like 150g of fiber). Also, Cute Ex texted me yesterday, and I thought he wanted to ask about taking over my lease, but he asked me to hang out. Yes, Cute Ex, I would absolutely like to hang out with you and your cuteness (meep).

2/M here. We usually have cadets on my RoRo. Three last time I was there. If you're going in June,

i assume you're going to be on for 90 days or so. Here's a bare minimum.

#1 Most important thing for ANY Mariner- Required Documents. (License, MMD, TWIC, Etc.) You can work without clothes, but you cannot work without documents.

Clothes (Your ship will likely issue you coveralls (for port visits), safety glasses, hardhat, & gloves.)

1 pair 'going out' pants, 2 going out shirts.

3-4 pairs work pants (say, 2 jeans, one khaki, maybe some Carharrt overalls.)

6 or so work t-shirts I like these

1-2 button down work shirts.

7 pairs socks, 7 pairs underwear.

Hoodie

work jacket or coat. Mostly for going out, if you work in the ER.

1-2 pair gym clothes (if you work out)

Steel-toed shoes w/ GOOD gel sole inserts.

sneakers

Depending on when you'll be in Alaska, a good pair of themals (I like SmartWool) and thick socks

Tools, etc

1 leatherman

small (powerful) flashlight & maybe a headlamp

All necessary toiletries including a nail trimmer (and spare deodorant!)

Pocket notepad/pen (or Tally Book) for taking notes. Like This

AA Batteries. Because you always need them.

Gaming system or laptop. There will be a community TV you can use and sailors your age to play with.

eBook or iPad if you like to read. Your ship will have DVD's and paperbacks, as well.

Stamps AND Postcard stamps. Send your mom a postcard every month, she's worried about you.

You'll have lots of time to pass. Fill it up with your choice of hobby. I'd recommend the gym.

Journal, sketch book, musical instrument, art supplies if you're into that.

Decent sunglasses. Good leather gloves in case you don't like the ship-provided ones.

Elastic clips for the inevitable shitty bedsheets. Like This

Probably a new pillow. Cadets get the worst of everything. Buy them online and they'll be 'vacuum packed'.

Contigo ($20) steel coffee travel mug from Walmart. Carry coffee in your pocket all over the ship without spilling it.

2 bottles of my favorite hot sauce (or whatever) for flavoring bland/shitty food

3 lbs of GOOD coffee, and a Bodum Press coffee mug No 2-hour old Sysco coffee for me.

4 TB hard drive (full). I Pirate everything when home, and fill up everyone elses when I come aboard.

PB2 Powdered Peanut butter 2 pack. Because it's awesome on oatmeal.

My Fitbit. Record is 26,000 steps / 6300 calories in one day.

iPod (some ships have 'earphone' restrictions)

Over the counter Melatonin pills (low grade sleeping pills)

Likely your ship will have a 'slop chest' or easy access to shopping. I actually use Amazon Prime and everything gets delivered to us in Baltimore. I open mine up to the crew and we all spend an average of $500 together every delivery. If there's something you think you might need, box it up for mom/dad, they can mail it to you later if you need it.

You've got a GREAT start, but a few items I'd be wary of that others have pointed out are - Granola (these are usually high in sugar), Breads (these are generally high in simple carbs and are treated in the body like sugar), Peanut Butter (these can have lots of sugar added and are really high calorie, try PB2). Your plain yogurt is pretty good as well, be careful of flavored yogurts though as they add a lot of sugar.

One of the most useful things you can do in determining what's 'healthy' is learn how to interpret food labels. The 2 most important labels to know are:

Nutrition Labels -
FDA standards maintain consistency between products so consumers can compare nutritional values, but consumers must also be aware that manufacturers can deceive shoppers by manipulating serving sizes. Products such as creams, butters, and cheeses are often listed in much smaller serving sizes than they are actually used in.

Make an educated decision in the store by converting servings on the label into the amount used in the recipe; providing a more realistic idea of the nutritional value each ingredient contributes to the recipe and allowing us to determine whether we want to find a substitute for it.


Ingredient List - The ingredient list is another important piece in evaluating product quality because every ingredient is displayed in order of prominence. As a rule of thumb the fewer the ingredients, the better and if I can pronounce the ingredients that's even better.

Granola and trail mix are always yummy and good snacks for the heat because they won't melt. I like packing Fritos because they are have a lot of calories for their weight, and I'm a sucker for crunchy salty things (especially after hiking all day).

5 Hour Energies are probably a wonderful thing to bring, but I don't drink them so I can't comment on them specifically.

For larger meals, you can keep it simple and just pick up some dehydrated Mountain House type meals. They can be spiced up with some herbs/red pepper that you bring in. You can also pack in a few tortillas if you want. One of my favorite breakfasts is a Mountain House Breakfast Skillet with some of their fire roasted veggies thrown in, and put on a tortilla.

I would recommend bringing a small stove because NOTHING is better than a hot meal after backpacking. Or a hot coffee (I use Starbucks Via packets) in the morning as you watch the world wake up.

The stove doesn't have to be fancy, this cheap one from Amazon will work just fine. You can pick up a fuel canister on the island and it should hold you over for a 3 night trip. Pair with a little backpacking pot like this and you should be well set to heat up water for meals.

I'm also a big fan of bringing electrolyte supplements, especially when I know I'm going to be sweating a lot. I have also used Clif Shot Bloks, but they may melt in the heat.

For me, a day of backpacking food is something like:

  • Breakfast: Coffee!!! Mountain House Breakfast Skillet, 2 servings, ~800 calories. Add veggies or a tortilla if available. If I know I'm going to need a calorie boost throughout the day, I'll add some olive oil.
  • Snack 1: Granola or trail mix, 150 - 200 calories.
  • Snack 2: Peanut M&Ms, 150 - 200 calories.
  • Lunch: Tear apart some beef jerky, mix in with instant cheddar mashed potatoes, and crumble Fritos on top. Sounds weird, tastes great. Can be eaten hot or cold. Another option is a packet of ramen noodles mixed with Mountain House's fire roasted veggies, powdered peanut butter, and sriracha sauce. 550 - 650 calories.
  • Snack 3: Trail mix, Clif Bloks, or a Clif Bar, 150-200 calories
  • Snack 4: Fritos, Clif Bar, or Peanut M&ms, 150-200 calories
  • Dinner: Mountain House Chili Mac with Beef, 2.5 servings, 575 calories. Add olive oil mixed with sriracha for another boost in calories and flavor.

    Overall, for a full backpacking day I will aim for ~3,000 calories.

    It's not the best or lightest, but it's a plan that works for me without having to spend too much time thinking about food. Meals can be switched around and mixed and matched, but I try to keep the calorie distribution roughly the same.

Hahaha, that was hilarious! Thanks! I buy my PB2 at Costco, where it's about $12 for a 30 oz. tub, I believe, so it's a lot cheaper than at the supermarket. I don't have Winco in my area, but if you do find something that's sugar free, would you mind letting me know? I would absolutely prefer sugar free. As far as the incredible concoctions you've described...I better not make them, as they'll make me want to eat this stuff even more. So annoying. I'm familiar wiht Lily's brand and I like that it's sweetened with Stevia, but if I get my hands on it, I'll eat the whole bar before I get home. It isn't pretty.

Thanks for commiserating with me about our plight. Maybe one day, we'll find a way to enjoy our nuts, guilt-free!

Edit: I just found this https://www.amazon.com/PB-Me-Powdered-Peanut-Butter/dp/B01AQLEN9G and it's sugar free, although some of the reviewers don't like it as much as PB2. Still, despite the price, I'm going to order it and if i don't like it as much, I can always mix it with PB2. Thanks for alerting me to a sugar free powdered peanut butter option! Too bad it ends up being super expensive, but I'll just cut back on other things.

Edit 2: I'm realizing that what I got at Costco isn't PB2, but is called PBFit. It has 50 calories and 2 grams of carbs for 2 tablespoons, while the Amazon Product PB & Me has 45 calories & 2 grams of carbs, but it does have zero sugar. Not sure if it's worth the extra expense.

You do have some pretty practical things on your wish. I'll try to keep my choices under $75 in case you really want something, that way you can buy it right away (or even buy a few things at one time)!


  1. This Pillow can be very important for you if you really need a new pillow and/or don't sleep well at night. New, comfy pillows can really help with staying cool, clean, and comfortable at night.


  2. This Laptop Cooler also seems very important. If your laptop does get very hot, or you can't use it on your lap, then you need this! This cooler/stand/lap thing will really help as your laptop will stay cool, last longer, run faster, and you can use it on your lap and on the go!


  3. Rechargeable Battereis are always very important as they save time, money, and the earth! You don't have to buy batteries all the time, you can have new batteries ready all the time, and you don't have to throw batteries away when they die!


  4. Got to have some NSFW fun every once in a while

  5. Nutella... That's all I have to say


  6. Music is very important. It is always good to have a decent pair of ear buds so you can always relax, jog, bike, clean, or do anything to music!


    I may add more stuff to the list, but you get the point! Go for important, but also fun, stuff!

Your diet is going to make the biggest difference in your weight loss. They say weight loss is 85% diet, and it's true. I too have lost 120 pounds and I honestly think exercise is unnecessary. I run now, but I do that for overall health. Here's a few things I eat on a weekly basis.

Breakfast:

  • 8oz.non-fat greek yogurt with fruit (usually a banana)

  • 1 scoop protein powder, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, handful of baby spinach, 1 banana (or other fruit). Blend.

  • Oatmeal

  • 1 1/2 T. Peanut butter on whole wheat toast

    Lunch/Dinner:

  • 2 Tuna sandwiches. 1 can tuna, 1T. non-fat mayo, 1T. mustard, 1T. relish. Put onto 2 of these things. I usually eat this with celery dipped in PB2 and a side salad of mixed greens tossed in low-cal vinegarette.

  • Grill a shitload of chicken breasts and keep them in your fridge. I'll heat up a giant bowl of broccoli and throw a chopped-up chicken breast on there and eat it with sriracha. You can also put a breast onto 4 corn tortillas with some homemade guac and pico de gallo. Cook up some quinoa and eat it with the chicken.

  • Beans. Make low-cal chili with super-lean ground turkey and some canned beans - tons of fiber and protein to keep you full.

    I tend to pick a protein source and build a meal around that. I try to always add as many veggies as I can, usually in the form of a side salad or celery.

    I HIGHLY recommend downloading MyFitnessPal on your phone (assuming you have a smartphone) and log everything you eat. I winged it for the first year but the app makes it so much easier.

    Something I've recently fallen in love with - sweet potatoes. I scrub them clean and bake for an hour @ 400. Cut it in half, sprinkle a little salt or some cinnamon and eat it. Great desert, full of good shit, and it tastes delicious.

    There are a ton of things you can eat that are good for you. Lots of other fish, tons of ways to cook/eat chicken and turkey, beans, etc.

It sounds like you're an awesome host. The bread is a great idea, and very thoughtful.

As for cross contamination if you don't want to worry about keeping a whole separate jar of peanut butter safe there are Justin's squeeze packs in regular peanut butter and various other nuts and flavors. I think stores like Whole Foods sell them individually too.

Also a lot of gluten free bread is much better toasted so it might be worth getting some toaster bags for your cousin to use. I've never used them before but my nutritionist recommended them.

I guess this advice pretty much hinges on how much your guest likes peanut butter, but PB sandwiches (or sadwiches, as I call them) are pretty much my go to food when I have to carry food around with me and I've had enough Kind bars.

1-what does your experimental flour taste like in the end product? in comparison to regular flour? is it really filling as protein would do for you? and/or dry like coconut flour?

1 serving of instant oatmeal

.5-1 servings of protein powder (I use strawberry smoothie flavor)


Make oatmeal as usual to desired thickness, then stir in protein powder. I've found that it mixes better with more watery oatmeal, but that's personal preference.

Knock-off Chipotle

1 serving of instant rice

.5 can of black beans

1 can of Ro-Tel or something similar

.5 cup Shredded Mexican cheese or cheddar cheese

Lime juice to taste

Cilantro to taste (fresh tastes better but dry works fine too)

Salt to taste


Cook rice in microwave. While rice is cooking, open cans. Divide black beans in half, put half in the fridge and half in a microwaveable container. Put Ro-Tel in a separate microwaveable container.
When rice is finished, microwave beans and tomatoes until they're warm. Drain beans and tomatoes. Sprinkle cilantro and lime juice on rice to taste. Dump beans and tomatoes on rice, add shredded cheese and salt to taste.

This usually makes two small meals or one big meal for me.

Milkshake

1 frozen bananas, broken into quarters

1 cup almond milk (coconut, soy, rice, or cow milk is fine too)

1-2 servings of PB2 OR 1 serving protein powder


Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. If it's too thin but you don't want to add more banana or pb2, toss in some ice cubes.

Tuna salad

1 can tuna, drained

5 tsp regular mustard (doesn't have to be exact-use more or less to taste)

2 T capers or 1 serving hot banana peppers, chopped (or both, if you're adventurous)


Mix together, eat plain or on bread.

You can use canned salmon instead of tuna, since you're only supposed to eat tuna a couple times a week.

You can substitute relish instead of capers/banana peppers, although I've only tried that with tuna, not salmon. Relish is also a lot sweeter and less savory than the other two options.

Spinach

1 bag of microwave in bag spinach

1 T olive oil

2-4 T Parmesan cheese


Microwave spinach. When it's done, pour it into a bowl. Mix with olive oil and parmesan cheese.


If you want to know the calorie count/nutritional breakdown, try MyFitnessPal, and just add each ingredient individually. Off hand though, they should mostly provide a good balance of complex carbs and protein. (Except the milkshake... That one really depends how you make it)


All of this can be supplemented with veggies that you microwave in the bag. I tend to eat broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and green beans. All of them can be seasoned either with butter/butter spray or olive oil and lemon pepper. I also drink V8 if I feel like I haven't gotten enough veggies (I love the taste though, so I'd probably drink it anyway tbh)

If you're a peanut butter lover, look into PB2. It's a great alternative. Regular peanut butter is 200 calories per 2 tbsp, while PB2 is a mere 45 calories per 2 tbsp. I personally think the flavour is great, and I don't miss regular peanut butter AT ALL. I use the chocolate PB2 to make a peanut butter chocolate banana smoothie every morning. It is DELICIOUS.

As for other healthy 'tricks', try swapping pasta for spaghetti squash. Spaghetti squash is super low calorie, you can eat a TON of it. All you have to do is cut it in half, roast it up and fluff up with a fork, then mix with your favourite pasta sauce. Yum!

I had upper jaw surgery last tuesday. I was doing keto for just under 3 months before the surgery, and have continued doing it with my doctors permission during my recovery. I highly recommend sticking with keto, since the diet itself helps reduce inflammation if done right which helps you recover faster.

If you have any questions about the surgery feel free to ask :) Getting enough liquid keto calories is hard, so far my diet is basically the same thing everyday and ends up being a little over a thousand calories.

breakfast: this very soft scrambled egg dish I learned how to do from a gordan ramsey youtube video. About 300 calories: 2 eggs some cream and butter. You keep it moving until it forms a thick custard, super yummy and syringe-able.

lunch: 1 cup of almond or coconut milk with low carb protein powder and some pb2 powder.

dinner: soup. My current two choices are a broccoli and cauliflower cheese thing I made, and a thai inspired cucumber and coconut one.

There's this sort of dehydrated peanut butter that you can get that's apparently much healthier, I bought some and honestly, in a PBJ I wouldn't know the difference. Also, maybe try substituting it with something a little better? Like none of that Jif stuff, something that's not so creamy and processed... you know, natural, no salt added, even almond butter. It's funny how these little tweaks can be made and suddenly the cravings disappear. Hmm... it's ALMOST like it was all about the salt and fat content... hmm!

Same for bread, just try picking something slightly healthier (watch especially for breads without added sugar and corn syrup, or at least with low amounts of either.) With alcohol, I can't help you, I've never been much of a drinker and saying no to it is pretty easy for me! Good luck :)

I feel like I can relate to you. I too have horrible fatigue issue, I feel that every 4-6 hrs I get an extreme fatigue crash, and I need to seek a nap or most often caffeine.

ADHD med don't really affect my appetite, so I can easily eat. I need to get back to the routine of eating every 3 hours, but I recall it kinda help, but not really.

Even eating healthier ( I usually eat a decent amount of fruit/veg a day), such as breakfast I drink a protein smoothie or even an orange smoothie with kale/spinnach. I still had my typical fatigue crash.

Food is definitely important. Maybe I need to treat myself as a diabetic and eat more snack between.

I strongly suggest PB2( link below), it's peanut butter powder, but healthier/calorie dense ( better than most protein powder and definitely cheaper). Even adding 1-2 banana because the magnesium helps with my body aches occasionally. You can even make protein bars with the powder as well, just search youtube for a generic vid.

My mother suggested for me to get a sleep study as well, since she claims it gives a lot of energy when she wake up. However, she snores and I don't, so i'm not sure if it will work for me.

Rice, plain potatoes (just salt/pepper and maybe some dairy free 'butter'), chicken breast, gf/df bread (Kinnikinnick is a great option), crackers. I love this whole grain teff - there's a porridge recipe on the back that's great and kind of like cream of wheat, except nuttier in flavor. I also like this brown rice farnia. Bob's Red Mill is pretty awesome about testing for gluten and takes it seriously. I've never had an issue and I'd consider myself pretty sensitive.

Recently I've had a lot of trouble eating in the mornings. Assuming you don't have problems with soy, this protein powder is pretty great on its own (just mixed with non-dairy milk). I've also been using this soy protein powder to make shakes. I've been using one ripe banana, 2 TBSP PB Fit Chocolate Peanut Butter, 1/2 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/2 cup Califa Farms toasted coconut almond milk (love this!), and a handful of ice - blend it all up and enjoy. I'm watching my weight (trying to lose), so I love the powdered peanut butter, but you could sub regular in easily or add the soy protein powder to any kind of shake you want for a boost.

I buy PB2 which is like peanut butter but with like 90% less fat (its powdered). You mix it with water and it actually tastes a lot like peanut butter, or i use it in protein shakes if i want a peanut butter taste. I like it quite a bit, but it is kind of expensive. Or Id say just to have some peanut butter! Buy the stuff that doesnt have a lot of added salt or sugar, and only have the recommended serving size (usually 2 tablespoons). Peanut butter is fine in moderation just makes sure you dont go over board.

I started a new diet and I want to start protein shakes. peanut butter is a great flavoring agent, but you have to be careful because of the sugar and what not. This is a great alternative to the regular stuff and is actually pretty healthy.

I also second Budget Bytes, her website is great! She has pictures explaining every step of a recipe. She also did a SNAP Challenge so you could save that much more money if you wanted to. I'm a fan of her black bean quesadillas, which isn't so much cooking as cracking open cans and packages of shredded cheese, tortillas, and spice containers. The only real cooking to do is toasting the quesadillas. You could even get through this recipe without using a knife! You can buy frozen chopped onions or fresh chopped onion from the salad section of the grocery store. You can get around cutting the cilantro by using scissors, and they sell jars of minced garlic, too. The recipe takes 2 cups of shredded cheese which is how much is in one bag of shredded cheese.

Good: I love nuts... if I wasn't careful I could eat several pounds of nuts in a day. PB2 has been a lifediet saver.

I can mix it with a thick (casein) protein powder and almond milk to make a nice pudding, put it in my shakes, or just eat it straight up with some fruit on top... Just fantastic tasting to me with great macros.

Lactose is a dairy thing. My youngest daughter and my dog are lactose intolerant. I'm well acquainted with the diet. :P

They both enjoy peanut butter often. I keep these around as a quick snack for them. I like the almond butter versions better. They're a nice pick me up when you don't want Gu or other performance gels. Also, those little baby food pouches of pureed fruits and vegetables. They go down easy and digest well.

it's not a terrible idea if you like peanut butter beers. I would probably be satisfied with taster.

What OG are you looking to hit? at 1.040, I would look to hit 20 IBU, 30 MAX, and move Fuggles to 20minutes to give a flavor complexity, but less aroma. Personally, I'd reduce the Melanoiden a little. Golden Naked Oats might be a nice addition too. If you're set on using a dextrine malt, use Weyermann Carafoam instead of Briess carapils. Keep in mind that Malted oats are much thinner than barley malt and therefore need a narrower gap in your mill--I would mill them separately.

Definitely use PB2. I'm not sure how people use it with success (dry hop? flameout?) so do some research on what has worked for others and mimic it in your recipe.

That's my favorite protein! But I honestly never really tried anything else. The first time I used it, it was grainy, as you said. But then I decided to use my blender:

  • 1 Scoop of Rice Protein
  • 2 spoons of PB2 for flavor
  • 1 Banana (half if it's a big one)
  • 2 spoons of flax seed
  • 2 cups of water

    Blend. Drink. Delicious.

    I'll sometimes add a 1/4 cup of oatmeal if I'm really hungry.

    Edit: I grew up in a very Viet household, and the Rice Protein reminds me of one of my favorite rice cake treats. I think that's why I like it so much.

I actually followed the ingredients from AIH's Genius Stout and modified the boil, adding 6.5 oz of PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter in the last 30 minutes of my 60 minute boil and 3 weeks into fermentation, added 1 dram of Peanut Butter Flavoring, which added HUGE amounts of delicious peanut buttery aroma and sweet PB on the back of the tongue. I can attest to the fact that this beer is getting better with age, and is far from perfect, but served at ~50 F, you're sure to have a good time.

EDIT: I let peanut butter flavoring infuse in beer for ~7-8 days before bottling.

I make my own dehydrated boil in bag meals. I use THIS SITE as a template and just modify things as needed. I use a lot of powdered heavy cream, powdered eggs, powdered coconut milk, powdered cheese (all purchasable off amazon), instead of rice I dehdyrate cauliflower rice in my dehydrator.

It requires a bit of experimentation on your part since they don't translate 100% but I've made some good meals, bag tacos, butter chicken, fajitas, pizza casserole, buffalo chicken casserole, breakfast scrambles, cheeseburger casserole, etc. I've been playing around with the idea of trying to make a few keto cobblers.

Portion them out into quart freezer bags with smaller bags for spices/seasonings, when time comes to eat boil a bit of water, dump it in the bag and seal it up, let it sit for 10 minutes or so wrapped in a handkerchief or something then enjoy.

If you are dehydrating yourself you want to use LOW FAT meats. I know that's counter-intuitive for keto but high fat content foods won't dehydrate right, so use lean cuts, then add fat later (heavy cream powder, etc)

You can also bring mayo packets with you and I like bringing Individual Justin's Peanut Butter Packs also, great way to up the fat and to eat "quickly" between meals.

I dehydrate my own jerky as a snack, also you can hit Walmart and get single serve individual foil packs of tuna and spam, they work good as a quick meal without having to boil water.

Speaking of smoothies, spinach with grapes and apple juice is awesome. I take handful of grapes, or around what a branch (idk grape terminology) would be, and chop up a bunch of spinach to throw it all into a blender. Blend for a few seconds and throw around a cup of apple juice in to neutralize the spinach flavor and you're golden. I tend to use a 16oz mason jar for my smoothies and throw them in the fridge. Typically they're only good for the next day so you can't prep a whole weeks worth but it's quick and easy if you prep all the ingredients in advance.


Another awesome mason jar prep that lasts for about 3-4 days in the fridge is oatmeal and this shit is good as hell. I typically use Quaker old fashion oats, almond milk, PB2, and berries or pumpkin filling.

smoothies are a brilliant idea, we've had great luck with this powder in smoothies. delicious and a protein bomb. some fruit (fresh or frozen, whatever's lying around), some malt powder, ice cream, yogurt, juice, whatever else we can find in the kitchen. I'm a barista and so I've experimented with a lot with coffee and huel. Vanilla Huel with a dirty chai in it is amazing. The Chocolate mixed with peanut butter powder is what I usually have if i do one later in the day, but not breakfast. Any fresh fruit blended with the Berry flavor is pretty great, and ice always blended in all of them too.

The ice cream doesn't sound especially healthy, and could be making it seem a bit thicker. I usually have a smoothie every day with a scoop of vanilla protein powder (Cytosport 100% whey), almond milk (I use Almond Breeze unsweetened vanilla), and some kind of fruit. I sometimes add a couple packets of stevia because I like it sweet.

Amazon also appears to have the hoosier hill farm powdered peanut butter, which is a LOT cheaper than the PB2 brand, but I haven't tried it so I can't speak to the quality, but it does have good reviews and unlike PB2 which has added salt and sugar, the hoosier hill farm stuff is literally just peanuts.

Both of those are fulfilled by amazon as well, so not some third party that advertises one price and then charges twice that much in shipping.

I do this pretty often as well, but I add 2 things. First, just a small amount (1-2 oz) of almond milk to cream it up, and secondly a tbsp of PB2. Turns this into a glorious peanut butter/banana oatmeal while adding less than a 1g of fat and only like 30 calories.

It's a sort of powdered peanut butter. Supposedly it's made by applying high pressure to peanuts and extracting the fat/oil in the nuts, leaving a dry powder. You rehydrate it with water and it works great as peanut butter or in smoothies and so on. Sounds kind of weird, but it tastes pretty great and is much lower in calories than normal peanut butter (45 Calories vs 190 Calories).

Ingredients

2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, thinly sliced

1/4 cup lime juice

3 tablespoons PB2

1.5 tablespoons warm water

2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger

3 garlic cloves, crushed

1 tablespoons toasted sesame oil

4 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar

1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon Thai fish sauce

1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 package FiberGourmet spaghetti

1 English cucumber, thinly sliced

1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cup carrots, thinly sliced

(plus whatever other vegetables you want in there: snow peas, broccoli, bean sprouts, etc.)

1 bunch cilantro, coarsely chopped

*Toasted sesame seeds as garnish (if you're feeling fancy)

Combine the chicken, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, lime juice and 1 clove of crushed garlic in a bowl and let stand a few minutes to marinate. Coat a nonstick pan with a bit of vegetable oil spray and pan fry until just cooked through. Reserve on the side.

To make the sauce, combine the PB2 and warm water in a large bowl until it reaches a peanut butter consistency (may require more/less water). Once mixed, add ginger, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, fish sauce, red pepper flakes and salt. Whisk to combine and taste to make sure it's tasty.

Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in large pot of boiling salted water until tender. Rinse under cold water until cool, then drain really thoroughly and transfer to bowl with sauce. Toss to coat the noodles and let stand at room temperature until noodles have absorbed dressing, tossing occasionally, about 1 hour or more if you have the time. Stir in the chicken, vegetables and cilantro and toss again. Season with sesame seeds. This was delicious at room temperature, but turns it's even better cold the next day, (as I discovered eating the leftovers for lunch today).

You should check this stuff out. Its peanut butter powder. Most of the fat has been removed. It takes just like peanut butter. I use it in shakes, eat a teaspoon plain, add it to greek yogurt, or mix with a little water to get a pretty good analog of real peanut butter without the calories. This shit is surprisingly good.

While playing? Individual almond butter pouches, or something like Bobo's Bars.

Before rounds? If playing after lunch then salad and plenty of water, usually a coconut water as well. If playing before lunch then eggs and vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, etc.) either in the form of an omelette or scrambled + veggies on the side.

I eat a considerable amount of food in general, I just try to keep my net carbs down. And I try to minimize how much of a percentage of those carbs are in the form of sugar.

Breakfast:

Clean Lean Protein shake with banana and powdered peanut butter, made with almond milk.

Lunch:

Giant handful of spinach, diced tomato, 1/4 - 1/2 cup brown rice, two eggs, sometimes avocado, always with a bit of pecorino romano cheese.

Dinner:

Sometimes the same as lunch or a spinach, grilled chicken and rice bowl with broccoli, bell pepper and avocado. Dab of coy sauce or sriracha.

Snacks:

We love the whole grain Fig Bars we get from costco, also Mama Chia is a fave as well. We also get the 1 lb dark chocolate bars from Trader Joe's and have a square after lunch and dinner.

in nyc there's a store called "peanut butter & co"

they have a peanut butter flavor called dark chocolate dreams which is peanut butter blended with dark chocolate. ingredients are Peanuts, evaporated cane juice, cocoa, cocoa butter, palm fruit oil, vanilla, lecithin (from sunflowers), salt.

i checked amazon.com in the uk, and sure enough, they have it available. in a 4-pack package for 20quid, free delivery. That's roughly the same price here in the States with a maybe 20% markup.

It's very tasty and very Australian. I had a quick look on amazon, and it there. It is a little pricey compared to what I would pay, but you really don't need much/want much flavour wise.

This picture could not be more accurate. If you are going to add it to stews, I recommend things that would complement beef (even if you're not going to add it).

I'm reasonably certain (conspiracy alert here) that the mainstream peanut butter brands are peanut fiber (left over from pressing out the peanut oil) mixed with vegetable shortening. Whenever I eat Jif, it coats my lips with a weird chapstik-type film. Natural peanut butter doesn't do this, but you have to stir it up. I don't mind some stirring.

I see a lot of people talking about the fat content in there. Another thing you could do if you don't want to use straight protein powder is use the PB Fit powdered peanut butter. It's basically peanut butter with the peanut oil removed. I personally use both a scoop of protein powder and PB Fit.

My usual smoothie recipe is this, if you're interested:

  • Half an avocado
  • Juice of a lemon
  • A few slices of ginger
  • 1/4 cup of beet
  • Handful of baby spinach
  • Handful of baby carrots
  • A scoop of protein powder
  • A scoop of chia seeds
  • A scoop of PB Fit
  • Half a cup of frozen blueberries
  • Fill the pitcher with water up to the top of the ingredients

    A scoop is about 5 tbsp, I use the scoop from the protein powder for all the scoops listed in the recipe... I have a lot of scoops leftover from old bags of protein powder.

    This comes out of the Vitamix thick, but drinkable. Makes about 3 pints and keeps me full for quite a bit. I usually eat a couple scrambled eggs with it after the gym.

That's the first thought I had, too-- even with a close friend, I think I'd feel uncomfortable pointing out the nutritional content of the peanut butter, because it means that you were paying close attention to what she's eating which is really her business...

I have an idea, though. There's this thing called PB2-- it's powdered peanut butter, so it does away with a lot (all?) of the oil that causes peanut butter to be so fatty. It's only 45 calories for 2 tbsp, that's only 25% of the calories!! They're stocking it more and more at grocery stores near where I live and they have chocolate-pb flavor, too. Maybe you could mention that you never realized how fatty peanut butter was, but you heard about this product called PB2 and ask her if she's seen it at the grocery store...? Just a thought. Regardless, though, it's really good!

My snacks are often smaller portions of my regular meals (usually protein and a veg), or just sliced leftovers of whatever meat I recently grilled. Microwaved sausages (Applegate, or whatever brand) are hearty. Also beef jerky or packets of nut butters, sucked straight out of the packet, or on an apple or (swoon) a banana. They're not warm, but at least room temperature!

I would try out some recipes for peanut butter hot chocolate (most seem to be hot chocolate with a spoon of peanut butter) and substitute PB2 for regular peanut butter. There's also a chocolate pb2 that you may want to try. You could premake your mix in a jar and bring it to work, or maybe just stash your cocoa and pb in your office and mix it there. Good luck!

Far as chocolate, I use cocoa nibs, pale chocolate malt and some C120 to get a lovely chocolate flavor. Lactose enhances the perception there as well. But yes, you can also use extract if you want for the chocolate.

I've been making a similar desert treat using PB Fit peanut butter powder.

  • One pint HWC
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter powder (3 net carbs total)
  • Sweeten to taste (I use 2tbsp of a Xylitol, Erythritol & Stevia blend - 0 net carbs)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

    Throw it all in your mixer and go (I sift the dry ingredients). It makes about 5-6 1 cup servings. It is surprisingly filling. Cocoa powder instead of the PB powder if chocolate is more your thing. I just checked and the hershey's cocoa powder is 1 carb/tbsp.

Stuff labeled as "peanut butter powder" such as this are generally pretty expensive. I try to look for "peanut flour" like this. They are the same thing just the flour doesn't have salt or sugar and isnt labeled as a specialty product, it's just a flour replacement. Both can be reconstituted with milk or water to make peanut butter and be added to smoothies and baked goods.

I don't think most of us know what you mean by "peanut butter stock." It's not a common term in the USA as far as I know, and every Google result I'm seeing for it seems to indicate it's just... shelled, halved peanuts.

So I'd say... um... have you considered eating them? :) Or feeding some birds with them. Or going here. Not sure how this would differ from "I have an awful lot of peanuts," which would have been much clearer and probably gotten you some better advice!

Or if you meant something else by "stock" (e.g. at first I thought you might have meant this), you'll have to explain it to us better.

It tastes mostly like peanut butter (especially if, like me, it's been a long time since you've allowed yourself real PB!) but in many cases it changes the taste/consistency of things when added to recipes. Ditch the Powerade and carry some electrolyte powder you can mix into a water bottle instead if you're worried about replenishing electrolytes. It won't save a lot of weight, but when ounces count, 2 pounds can make a difference (1 gallon is 128 fluid ounces and weighs 8.34 pounds, 32 ounces is 1/4 of that and 1/4 of 8.34 pounds is 2.085 pounds).

I'd also ditch all but 1 (maybe 2) of the emergency blankets. They're great for what they are, but 8 of them is excessive.

Open the pack of Bic lighters. Throw the packaging away and stow the lighters in the backpack.

I also wouldn't carry a jar of peanut butter. Well, I wouldn't carry any amount of peanut butter, but I also wouldn't carry a jar of anything if I could avoid it. Too bulky. I'd look for something like this. If you want to match the caloric content of your jar of peanut butter, 11.42 packets of this stuff will get you there, and can be stashed around your pack wherever it will fit instead of having a big ass jar of peanut butter just sitting there.

Hey, lots of folks have chimed in, may I give you a perspective from a parent who had TWO "severely allergic" children? And was lucky enough to enroll both of them in a peanut desensitization trial? (They both can tolerate peanuts now, yaay!)

Here's my $.02: [DISCLAIMER, I AM NOT A DOCTOR! I AM NOT A DOCTOR! PEANUTS CAN BE LIFE THREATENINGLY DANGEROUS TO SOME CHILDREN!]

If you have any doubts, have your child tested for allergies. There are two main tests. One, aka the "ige" test, is a blood test looking for specific antigens that allergic people have in their bloodstream. This is not foolproof, in fact, many "false positives" are reported. That is, many children test positive but can actually ingest peanuts. They're not sure why. There are far fewer "false negatives", but there are some. Still, it may help you ultimately.

The other kind of test is a skin test. Again, many false positives. But almost no false negatives. In other words, if they prick your back, rub some peanut protein in, and nothing happens, you're very likely fine. (Again, a positive skin test, or a big 'ol rash, might actually be ok--your digestive tract can handle it sometimes anyway).

All that said, if you don't have a history of food allergies in your family, and if your children have not shown any signs of eczema or asthma or other allergies / breathing problems, and you'd like to introduce peanuts, do so responsibly. Yes, you could (arguably should, if you want 100% peace of mind) go get a food challenge from an allergist, but there are other ways.

Nowadays, there's such a thing as "dry powdered peanut butter" that you can find online or in some health foods stores. It's basically powdered peanuts. I know this because it's the ONLY way I can get kid #2 to ingest some peanuts daily. (yes, per the allergy study, now that we're done, we have to give each of them a small dose of peanuts every day). Kid #1 eats a small peanut butter cup each day. Kid #2 HATES HATES HATES the smell / taste / thought of peanuts, in any form . . . except as a little bit of peanut powder stirred into applesauce. I mean, we tried peanut butter crackers, Reese's, Peanut Butter M&M's, Nutter Butter cookies, you name it. He cried while he tried to choke it down!

The fantastic thing about it is that you can give a very small amount in another food (like, seriously, start one day w/ 1/8 of a teaspoon in some yogurt--heck, even less!), then slowly up the "dosage" (not the same day) until you're sure s/he's can tolerate it. This is quite literally the way our study worked. We started w/ a few mg's of peanut protein, took that for two weeks, then got it doubled, etc. Seriously, they went from a controlled reaction of something like 15mg's (roughly 1/20th of one nut) to being able to tolerate 5,000 mg's (roughly 16 nuts!) of peanut protein at the end. This was over a period of a couple of years, though! But doing it this way (like a little controlled experiment) should be far less worrisome than just willy-nilly giving him/her a dollup of peanut butter.

It's also absolutely critical that you would be watching for any signs of a reaction should you need medical care. Having liquid Benadryl around and being absolutely prepared, if necessary, to go to the E.R. (or, better yet, call an ambulance) should be part of your plan. Look for any hives (face and upper body usually are first, but it can rapidly be everywhere), any swelling, any difficulty breathing. Head to the E.R. (or call the ambulance), and administer Benadryl (they have sweet tasting liquid kid packs at the drug store) if this happens.

I take some egg thins (they are like crepes and I found them at Costco), put a few blobs of plain goat cheese in the middle of them (I get the big tubes at Costco), and then add some Stevia Blueberry Jam (I use this kind), and then roll them up and add a bit of whipped cream. It has a blueberry cheesecake kind of flavor.

Those egg thins are amazing. I haven't done it yet, but I am going to try getting some ricotta cheese, mixing with a Truvia packet, and some Hershey's sugar-free chocolate chips, and filling it with that, so it's like a cannoli crepe.

If it fits your macros it's fine.

Personally i get pretty bingy with it so i don't eat it very often.

I also bought a jar of PB2 mix 2 tbs with 1 tbs of water to create the same consistancy as regular peanut butter. It still has the same amount of carbs but a fraction of the calories.

Try out PB2 I have been able to find this at major markets like Kroger and Safeway. I like to dip apple slices or celery into the powder itself, get the same pb apple flavor and the powder sticks to the cut fruit/veg.

The above discussion about not needing to get calories from fat when at maintenance notwithstanding, if you need a quick way to get some calories, you could think about packing some of this in your luggage/briefcase/whatever. Small, portable, and an easy way to get a quick shot of calories.

It's powdered peanut butter -- you mix it with water. I think 2 tablespoons is only 45 cals or something. If you get the water to powder ratio right, I personally think it's a fair substitute for peanut butter!!

Peanut butter always manages to get me. Try buying PB2 online. It's powdered peanuts with 45 calories per serving. It's saved me so many times from consuming thousands of calories in one sitting.

You may want to try PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter. It's pretty good, especially in shakes. It also has less fat than ground peanuts and peanut butter, and it's clearly marked as what it is, so you can avoid possibly killing the people you interact with in the future.

You could make a protein smoothie instead of just the shake. You can freeze grapes and use those, or half a frozen banana, then put in your protein powder and some almond milk. You can also consider getting PB Fit, which might help you get more protein in without the sugar PB has. Or, just switch out your protein powder for a different flavor.

Eat and drink before working out. At least a protein bar or something of that nature. You are working out dehydrated and with low energy stores which is detrimental to building muscle. That's also a good deal of caffeine to have on an empty stomach.

If you want to keep the eating time down just make a protein shake and slam it or bring it to the gym with you. Here's what I do a couple times a day:

  • Blender Bottle

  • Almond Milk

  • Protein Powder

  • PBfit (peanut butter powder which is less fat and mixes easier without blending)

  • creatine

  • Banana (for eating, not putting in blender bottle)


    If you actually have time to blend a full protein shake you can add real peanut butter and bananas to it. I don't like blending my shakes because they are too loud early in the morning and also creates a lot of cleanup time.

Okay, I'm guessing you're talking about low-carb products marketed as such, like Atkin's snack bars and low-carb ice cream? I've tried the following:

  • Low-carb butter pecan ice cream I found at Pavillions (a.k.a. Vons)
  • low-carb ice cream popsicles (both the one with the almonds and the plain chocolate-coated ones) - also found at Pavillions
  • Atkin's low-carb shakes found at Target
  • low-carb bread found I don't remember where (I'm trying to black it out of my memory...)
  • sugar-free nutella knock-off I found on Amazon here
  • low-carb soft-serve ice cream I found at a low-carb shop way out in Tustin that's now closed
  • low-carb bbq sauce and coctail sauce found at aforementioned store
  • reduced sugar ketchup found at Target
  • sugar-free bread and butter pickles found at Pavillions

    That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I had eaten "carb-smart" tortillas found at Target for a while before I started keto, but I stopped because wheat is crack. The only stuff I like are the ketchup, pickles, and nutella (not together, though). I did not include all sugar-free products that I buy because that's too long a list - just the products that market themselves specifically to low-carb dieters.

    Edit: To answer the other question, I prefer buying whole foods and making everything myself. Most low-carb products are crap, in my opinion, but that's just me, though.

I've been having this new kind of smoothie lately, it's been terribly delicious. Frozen banana slices, frozen blueberries, soy milk, and.. powdered peanut butter. Never had powdered peanut butter before but holy shit, makes the smoothest, thickest, most delicious smoothies I've ever had. I have a ninja blender and I drink nearly an entire blender full of it every morning.

one serving is 2 tablespoons = 37g according to nutella's own nutrition fact sheet (See link above). that one serving contains 21g sugar. 21g/37g = 0.57 = 57% total sugar content.

however, part of teh "sugar" will be lactose from the skim milk, which is about 12g sugar per 25g milk powder. How much milk powder is in Nutella? 8.7% milk powder http://foodwatch.com.au/blog/additives-and-labels/item/nutella-the-full-correct-list-of-ingredients.html



So ratio is 12g/25g = x/(37g*.087) == 1.5g milk sugar to be subtracted from 21g total sugar

21g- 1.5g = 19.5g white sugar

1.5/37g = 0.52 = 52% white sugar


btw,
the FDA has finalized new rules regarding nutrition labels, and have added the line "added sugars"
