1. Cooper Discoverer STT Pro All- Season Radial Tire-LT225/75R16 112Q

    Features:
  • ARMOR-TEK3 CARCASS PROTECTION - Cooper's proprietary and proven full 3-ply carcass construction in the tread and sidewall provides 50% more protection against impact damage than standard 2-ply tires: The third ply is oriented at an optimal angle to the first two ply's to maximize carcass protection in extreme off-road conditions
  • 3-2 INNER TREAD RIBS - The inner tread ribs of the Discoverer STT PRO are positioned in an alternating 3-2 pattern: This unique hybrid design provides a number of significant performance benefits like: reduced road noise, increased stability and handling, superior soft surface (trail) and mud traction, balanced wear, and reduced tendency for vehicle drift commonly experienced on fitments with aggressive off-road tires
  • LARGE DEPTH SIDE BITERS - The Discoverer STT PRO features large, specially-designed cleats of rubber (side biters) on the shoulder area of the sidewall, to enhance traction and grip in muddy or soft terrains and in rock crawling situations where maximum grip is essential: The orientation and design of these cleats promotes traction on inclines, reducing the chances of tire side-slip
  • FLEX GROOVE - The "flex groove" is a small, circumferential groove in the buttress region that generates a designed flex point in the tire: This ability to flex in a predetermined location provides a smoother ride by helping to dampen the impact generated by inconsistencies in pavement, potholes and gravel: In tough off-road situations where tires are sometimes aired down, this groove allows the tread and side biter to better conform and work together when traversing irregular, tough obstacles
  • ALTERNATING MUD SCOOP & ASYMMETRICAL SCALLOP - The asymmetrical scallops on alternating lugs direct mud into the mud scoops to allow the Discoverer STT PRO to pull through muddy terrains with ease: These “scoops” act as shovels to consistently dig in as the tire rotates: Scoop by scoop the Discoverer STT PRO digs in and will confidently pull your vehicle through the toughest situations

Here's a list I've started compiling for when I get some extra money. You may have seen quite a bit of it, but in case it helps:

Wheels:
For some reason the site said this wouldn't fit but it looks like the same dimensions as the one below it
But the first ones here are the ones i want

https://www.roadreadywheels.com/products/2007-2011-16x6-5-chevrolet-hhr-steel-wheel-rim?gclid=Cj0KEQjw8-LnBRCyxtfMl-Cbu48BEiQA6eUMGg4BPXpGrXRT8YUYRu14lA49XXZ4EaF6p8BvaciStdgaAlCY8P8HAQ

Alternatively i know these would fit:

Daystar 1.5 Lift:

Instructions for lift:
https://wayalife.com/showthread.php/33412-Jeep-Renegade-Daystar-1-5-quot-Lift-Kit-Installation-Write-Up

spacers: i think i need 'em for the tires i want

it's weird that the link says 25mm but the site says they are 17mm http://www.renegadeready.com/25mm-Wheel-Spacer-Kit--BLACK--All-4-Wheels_p_76.html

I think these tires but on a thread the guy said he gets slight rubbing at 3/4 with pretty much the same set up:

So these have 5 percent shorter wall, hoping that would help alleviate that:

It looks like you may need to run a longer trailing arm in the back if you're going to fit a bigger tire. I can't quite tell from the picture.

Where will you be offroading? What sort of temperatures will you be driving in and what sort of terrain?

I personally think that the Toyo Open Country A/T II is a fantastic tire on and off road. I run them on my 1966 Land Rover and my mom runs them on her Rav 4. Excellent ride and grip when aired down to 18psi on a trail. I think they come in a 225/70/R16 which might fit your outback, I'm not sure. You might need a 215.

You could also check out Nokian hakkapeliitta R2, 215/65r16. I've heard rave things. I believe my dad has a set on our Honda Fit, and it rallies through deep snow and icy hills no problem.

I'm thinking these tires BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 All-Season Radial Tire - 33x12.50R15/C 108R. Can a local tire shop install and take care of the sensors? These are also an option: Dick Cepek Extreme Country All-Terrain Radial Tire - 33X12.50R15LT 108Q

Edit: Pro Comp Steel Wheels Series 52 Wheel with Flat Black Finish (15x8"/5x4.5") will be okay for a JK and these tires, right?

u/Whit3W0lf · 1 pointr/Jeep

How long have you had those tires on? What are your thoughts and would you buy them again?

I like the styling of them, they looks off road capable and the price is great. I saw reviews on amazon of the sidewalls failing pretty fierce and that scared me away from the brand.

u/wsnyder503 · 2 pointsr/vandwellers

Hankook dynapro ATMs. They are sold in that size for about 100$ a pop. Here is a link to them on Amazon. Amazing tires from what I've heard, and they are what I'll be fitting on my 1995 G20 later this year. Happy vannin!

Rides great and gives the truck a mini lift from the stock wheels

Which Legacy do you have? The 1996 Legacy LS uses 195/60-R15 stock tires, whereas the Legacy Outback uses a stock size of 205/70-R15.

Some of the better off road tires are the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T-A KO2's. You can also go with the Grabber AT tires which are much cheaper. The only problem is that it's sometimes tough to find all sizes with one brand. Both are good tires though.

The only downside is a bit of a reduction in mpg, increased tire noise, and a little more wear and tear on the suspension and bearings. The trade off is pure awesomeness and great offroad grip.

You can get them at most tire shops but they might have to order that size. These are just a couple examples of what's out there.

Any recommendations on backspacing? I decided on these again. Want to make sure I get the correct size rims, I have 17" diameter, 9.5-10" depth, now I think i just need backspacing and to get 5x5 bolt pattern.

[Here is the link] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QL66V6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I Got them for $231 each which compared to Discount Tire or Big O I saved about $40 a tire. Also if you are in Colorado they come next day.

u/Whycelium · 5 pointsr/Honda

No they are 225/75. I had a solid typo up there lol. I edited it.

Depends on the tires and wheels bit it's not as ridiculous as you make it sound..

A 31" bogger weighs 57 pounds according to amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Super-Swamper-B-113-Bogger-31X12-50-15/dp/B006YH19B2

Steel rim weighs 28 pounds.

http://www.amazon.com/Cragar-Black-Soft-Wheel-5x114-3mm/dp/B004071CKG

So 85 pounds together.

u/Mortan_Snycle · 2 pointsr/overlanding

I bought some General Grabber AT2 tires for my suzuki and they have done well so far.

Reading through some ih8mud threads, it looks like I can mount 275/70/18s on there with the stock rims without further modification.

Like these: https://www.amazon.com/Nitto-Trail-Grappler-Radial-Tire/dp/B00E3T1KKI

u/heltzelb · 1 pointr/4x4

No reason. I'm not familiar with tires. So you'd recommend these?

u/DJGDUB · 3 pointsr/4Runner

I'm running Mastercraft Courser C/Ts the previous owner installed a few years back. Feel the rubber is too hard, evrytime I'm on the trail the rubber is getting torn off.

http://imgur.com/a/7WdIG

I'm open to any recommendations! I'm currently looking at the Cooper ST Maxx in a 255/85.

On a side note, has anyone had experience with the Kenda Klever MT tires? I've run their tires on my mountain bike, but I didn't know they make automotive tires. Theyve got decent reviews on amazon and have a seriously competitive price!

I don't notice road noise at all. They are Falcon Wildpeaks 265/70R17. Can't beat the price if KO2s are too much.
