I’ve seen some posts asking about the Spidgen Full Cover Glass tR Slim. I'll try to answer some questions today.

Rating: 9.5/10

Thoughts:

  • I've used Spidgen protectors before and they always feel great. This one is no different. I've never had one crack on me, but I also take care of my phone.
  • Front coverage is really well done.
  • Slim, like the name implies.
  • Glossy- fingerprint magnet like all screen protectors, but easy to clean.
  • Reflectiveness is about the same as without the glass. On deep angles, you can see a slight fog of white due to not being adhered to the screen completely, which I think is absolutely fine because why are you looking at your phone like that anyway?
  • If you run your knuckle across with some slight pressure, you can see some temporary ripple rainbow effect on the pressured area. It goes away after some time, but it can be noticeable with the screen off or with a black background. Again, this is due to the screen part not being adhered. This is the first time I've used a glass protector with only the sides having adhesive, so I'm not sure how this will effect it in the future. However, I don't think it's going to be an issue.
  • You can tell in the pictures that the outside edges aren't completely covered but it's actually a good thing in my opinion. I use a case with it and if it didn't have that clearance, many cases (at least the ones I own) wouldn't fit or would screw with the glass cover and lift it up. Also, without the case it has a nice white trim since I got the black front with my Silver Pixel (looks really cool btw).

The reason I gave it 9.5 instead of 10 is because of the inside coverage not being 100% accurate (See album). The top and bottom of the screen is perfectly fine and I understand the cutouts needing a little bit of extra space (camera/infrared sensor), but the left and right side of the screen are not completely covered. I heard that the other brands actually cover it a bit too much, while Spidgen's actually is a tiny bit short (preferable, but not ideal).

    ---
That's it for the glass protector. Here's some bonus pics of some skins:

    Slickwrap's Hemp Skin

    DBrand's Concrete Skin
Note: I cut out the Hemp sensor area because I had trouble with my Concrete skin before where it would interfere with the laser focus.

I've been using the Diztronic flexible TPU case for a couple of months now and would probably give it a comfortable 4 out of 5 score. Generally it fits the phone well and does a great job of protecting it too. The buttons are covered and all of the ports etc have their own exclusive openings - not one opening for the fingerprint sensor & camera, which I'm a big fan of. The camera opening also rises up probably around .3mm or so for additional protection of the lens which is awesome.

On the other hand, the fit isn't that great: when I hold the phone to my ear and push it against my head I can generate a click between the case & phone. I rarely talk on the phone so it's not a big deal, but I've noticed it and can't stop noticing it anymore. I also have had it catch on my pocket while pulling it out and it can pop the case off of a corner or two of the phone. Again, not a huge issue, but definitely enough (IMO) to not give it 5 stars if this were an official review.

_____

As for screen protectors, I've been using the tempered glass screen protector from Pleson and it's been great. I used to use non-tempered screen protectors on my old Moto X and found that after around 3 months I wanted to replace them because they got gunked up with not exactly scratches, just a general blurriness in the high traffic areas of the screen like the keyboard. Mostly noticeable when the screen was off, but it wasn't ideal for looking at photos and it kind of just looked like crap.

The Pleson protector has been great for the three months I've had it. I can't see any blurriness building up and have noticed no decrease in the touch screen sensitivity. I did have a pretty good scare last week when my phone face planted onto a flat surface and I picked it up to discover a crack running vertically down the whole screen.... but thankfully it was only the protector. A bit bummed that the protector itself can crack, but pretty damn happy considering the potential alternative. That said, planning to order a replacement of the same within the week!

Galaxy Note 9 Screen Protector Glass (Full Screen Coverage), amFilm Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 - Dot Matrix, Case Friendly, 3D Curved with Easy Installation Tray - 2018 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FXLSTJQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_x.FXBbH65FNRZ

I have this one. It was crazy easy to install and not bad for 12 bucks. It's definitely as low and as I would personally go, but good enough that I'm not looking for a new one anytime soon.

Attracts fingerprint smudges like crazy, but they wipe off instantly just on my t-shirt, so no big deal. I'm definitely not a fan of the dot Matrix, but this is the first time I've had a screen protector on in 2 years, so I don't know how common that is, might just be the way things are. It covers the entirety of the screen but not the entirety of the front of the phone. That's actually good for me because I've had three different cases and they've all been fine. I did turn up the touch sensitivity after putting it on and it's been flawless as far as that goes. If you're looking for something a little cheaper, even if it is just while you take your time and investigate other protectors or wait to see if something else comes out, this one is pretty good bang for your buck.

u/Hirshologist · 5 pointsr/Android

this is the one I'm talking about. It's absolutely fantastic. There are absolutely no sensitivity problems at all. It adheres pretty well.

It doesn't bubble, but like with any tempered glass screen, if you don't place in correctly and peel it on and off too many times, it can warp a bit. This happened to me once, but it was because I had a Pixel RMA and I tried to move the glass from my old phone to the replacement one. It honestly wasn't too bad. It's not a bubble, but a slight discoloration in the center that you only notice when the screen is off.

Nevertheless, I bought a new screen and it's absolutely fantastic. Trust me, this is the best tempered glass I've ever used. It actually makes the phone look better.

u/WarSport223 · 1 pointr/iphone

I'll tell you one thing; try to find one that is truly edge-to-edge / has really beveled / curved edges.

I got these:
TETHYS Glass Screen Protector Designed for iPhone XS Max (6.5") [3-Pack] [Edge to Edge Coverage] Full Protection Durable Tempered Glass for Apple iPhone XS MAX Guidance Frame Included (Pack of 3) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FQY28GR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_DacVBbXCZ9R9W

Like:

  • Super slick surface. Seriously; I've used cheaper screen protectors that feel like they're NOT glass; have an almost sticky / rough feeling to them, your fingers do not glide easily around the screen and it is awful. Don't get the cheapest ones out there. You truly get what you pay for.

  • These are truly full-screen / cover the entire face of the phone. I think this is better as it protects the notch area & the sensitive equipment in there from scratches.

  • comes with a nifty guide to help perfectly center the protector. Essential for OCD people like me. :-)

    Don't like:

  • the edge isn't beveled quite as much as others claim to be and it's a little annoying / doesn't feel good on your finger when you swipe up from the bottom to go home. It's a little rough as your finger goes over the edge of the protector.

Seeing how often you perform that gesture, I'm seriously considering looking for & getting a good protector that has ultra-beveled edges, something like this:

ESR Screen Protector for The iPhone Xs Max, [3D+ Maximum Protection] [Full Coverage], Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector for The iPhone 6.5” (2018 Release), Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G42KLZZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_SecVBb6M47PHF

    Aw hell...I'll prob get these & try them - it's only $11.....
u/Gee_Golly · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I have these on my Pixel 2 (non-XL), but they are available for the 2XL as well:

Screen protector: https://www.amazon.com/Protector-LiQuidSkin-Case-friendly-Anti-Bubble-Anti-Scratch/dp/B073RV6PQD/

^ It's not glass, but I'm really liking it. Once it dries and settles after install, it's practically invisible. It's really difficult to tell it's even on since it's hard to see the edges of it. Super smooth and does not distort the image and is case friendly.

Case: https://www.amazon.com/Pixel-Diztronic-Slim-Fit-Flexible-Google/dp/B0772D5Y5R/

^ I originally bought a Ringke Fusion but found that it was holding smudges and oils from my hand. So even if I washed my hands, once I picked the case back up, I'd get oily hands or vice versa. This matte finish case is really nice from Diztronic. Provides a nice grip yet it's not bulky at all.

u/Captain_Midnight · 2 pointsr/oneplus

The Tudia looks nice, but I hear that its design is shoddy.

I use the Diztronic case. It doesn't look very exciting, but its durable and has a good fit. The Bugdroid is made of the same material and should hold up pretty well.

I personally don't use screen protectors. Gorilla Glass makes them pretty unneccesary, in my experience. If you want one, Orzly tempered glass protectors are considered the best.

u/Nero8762 · 2 pointsr/OnePlus7Pro

I have the same phone.

I went with this TGSP. Works great, comes with 2, and it's cheaper.

https://www.amazon.com/Tempered-Protector-Fingerprint-Transparent-Anti-Scratch/dp/B07RRVMX2Z/ref=pd_aw_sbs_107_3/133-0068031-8790344?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07RRVMX2Z&pd_rd_r=4579b568-99c2-11e9-941b-e1cf8bfdbb1f&pd_rd_w=6K3uS&pd_rd_wg=PV1VB&pf_rd_p=aae79475-6dc9-4a12-80e8-27b63108fa72&pf_rd_r=T4RX2PSDQAJ8SQWKNFKR&psc=1&refRID=T4RX2PSDQAJ8SQWKNFKR

After doing my research I got the blue Ringke case, and a Poetic Affinity case. There clear back of the Ringke is beautiful, but the Poetic feels and send like it'll better protect the phone. I researched the DBrand case, cuz I was gonna skin it, but I couldn't find to many good reviews, and saw a few bad ones. It was enough to change my mind.

Hope this helps. You're gonna love the phone.

[Case] Adore June Classic case for ONEPLUS ONE - original Cordura® - black | £8.96 via Amazon.co.uk

I can't speak for the delivery time due to having Amazon Prime (next day delivery) but the case itself is pretty nice. Fabric on the outside while having the inner layer being made of a soft fleece. The case was far too tight to comfortably use, needing two hands to squeeze the phone into and out of the case. It seems to be loosening up after the few days iv had it so it appears to be getting better.

Recommendation: Haven't decided

****

[Protector] Orzly® - OnePlus ONE Premium Tempered Glass | £11.88 via Amazon.co.uk

Quality protector, feels nice and doesn't appear to diminish the screen or touch of the device. However, it does not fit perfectly. It appears to be cut slightly smaller that the screen of the Oneplus. The left edge will fit perfectly but the right will have a small gap. Its not noticeable unless you look closely but again, its not perfect.

Recommendation: Yes

u/jedmej · 3 pointsr/iphone

I'm also not sure about this particular case, but I'm using Totallee Clear case on my XS Max and I love it. As for the screen protector, I purchased TETHYS Glass Screen Protector (edge to Edge) 3-Pack for $14. I was never a fan of any screen protector, as they take away from the design and feel but this one is really nice! Basically can't tell its there, especially with a case on. Feels just like the stock glass and coating seems good so far. I would recommend!

Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for LG G3

Got this kind as just a temporary case (was thinking of getting the Seidio case with the kickstand), but I REALLY like this one. Has the nice matte feel like you'd expect on a Nexus 5 of Nexus 7 - really fits snugly and just feels great. Doesn't add much bulk and I am so much more confident handling it one-handed now. May just stick with this tbh.

u/captainant · 1 pointr/samsung

I bought the IQ Shield Case Friendly protectors and have had zero issues with the fingerprint scanner. The screen protector is one of those self-healing films so it never carries scratches, but the finger feel is different from glass or the preinstalled protector.

Installation is pretty easy, you basically clean the phone, then spray your fingers and both sides of the screen protector with the included bottle of soapy water, then apply the protector to your phone. Installation is a breeze since until the liquid dries, you can move and adjust the protector without peeling it off the phone. You use the included rubber squeegee to push out any air bubbles, and then after a few minutes of drying, need to use the squeegee and your hands/fingers to make sure it bonds and adheres on the curved edges of the screen.

It took me about 5 minutes to take off the preinstalled protector, clean the phone, apply the new protector, work the bubbles out, and get the edges sticking down.

Once the protector is on, there will be a little bit of optical distortion and maybe some small bubbles that wouldn't work themselves out for at most a couple hours, but the final state is a minimally invasive screen protector that's cheap and effective and works with the fingerprint scanner

u/Porgey365 · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

Hey everyone. I just recently got the amFilm curved TGSP. So far I like it. It does have a dot matrix, but it's only visible if you look for it. I would never notice it otherwise. I have no touch sensitivity issues either. The TGSP works great with my Fabric case as well! It was super easy to apply. I do have a small rainbow effect, but I've been seeing that if you give it a day or two, it goes away, so I will update with that. I feel comfortable recommending this, especially for the price. Here's a link.

Edit: rainbow effect is already gone less than an hour in. If you hold your phone at an angle under light with this TGSP on, you can see the dot matrix but I'm not too bothered by it. This is more personal preference though so take it with a grain of salt!

Alright, everyone keeps telling you to be careful, which I guess you already know, i'm going to give you the benefit of a doubt and say that maybe you cracked it once by accident, it happens, and the second time was because your phone screen was already weak from being replaced... I'll say it's no fault except bad luck. Shit happens.

My recommendation is just bite the bullet on spending a little more than you want to for phone protection, it will save so you much money in the long run. Screens are $200 - $300 dollars to replace, when you can just spend $75 now and protect it. So here's what i think will help.

  • Get a case
  • The one that is most reccomended after me spending DAYS going through threads and looking for solid cases is the Spigen Neo Hybrid ($13.99). Slim case with actual protection.

  • Get a screen protector
  • Also through my research is that the TG (Tempered Glass) protectors are all awful except for the Whitestone Dome ($44.99). Is a hard pill to swallow but it's the only glass that fits well, no reduction in sensitivity, and has full screen adhesive to keep from having those ugly rings around the edge of your screen or having those black bars. I reccommend this because you seem to crack your phone, rather than scratch it, this may save your screen a ton.

  • If you reeeallyy don't want to swallow the $50 then most people just go with a wet applied film to just help from scratches and possibly a minor crack. Most people settle for the IQ Shield LIQuid Skin ($7.85). It's just a skin but it may save you in the end.

  • Get a stand
  • It will keep your phone more secure on your desk rather than having to deal with knocking it off when reaching for your glasses. Any cheap stand can work. I went with the Econstyle Stand ($7.99) because it's easy to move from my side table by my bed, to my desk by my compute. Just some extra security and ca keep your phone from getting any scratches from laying it face first on a hard surface.

  • If you want to get a little luxury you could always get Samsungs Fast Charging Wireless Charger ($39.99) which has a stand included so you just set your phone down and it's charging, but that's just extra luxuries and isn't necessary.

So you could spend a bit for some extra security that will save you time in the long run, or you can keep risking dropping your phone and breaking it. I bit the bullet and got the case, TG and stand and I haven't looked back. I actually dropped my phone first few days after having it, but thanks to my TG the damage was only there and it saved my screen completely.

I'm using the Spigen Rugged Armor (http://amzn.com/B016CBFBVI) and it really is a nice case. I haven't put it to the test yet but after putting the 6P into it I do know I felt a lot more comfortable with where I lay the device and so on. That said the rhino shield bundle setup Evolutive Labs is coming out with looks like a for sure winner. I even placed an order for their full bundle but it's going to be January sometime before it's even suppose to be out. So till then I'll gladly sport Spigen's case. I might even pick up their screen protector. They have a tempered glass one out now (http://amzn.com/B016CBF5VO)

u/dar_harhar · 1 pointr/S7Edge

I use Spigen slim armor card case. Its not a wallet case but I can usually store up to 2 cards and a couple bills folded flat in there. Anything more it might start bulking in the back. Otherwise Ive been using spigens products and have been more than great. Ive used this case even when I used an iphone before i switched to android.

As for screen protector I use the armorsuit. It covers the edges nicely and fits with the case. Ive had this screen protector for about 3 to 4 months now and still responsive and working great!

u/xxBrun0xx · 3 pointsr/OnePlus7Pro

Yes sir, this is the one to get. Works great, install is pretty easy, and it comes with 2 protectors in case you fuck up the install. Watch a couple YouTube videos before doing the install and you'll be fine. Really enjoying this screen protector, one of the nicest I've ever used!

(I'm in no way affiliated with this company, just a very happy customer)

Bought the amfilm one.

Completely loving it.
Great coverage, the closest thing you'll get to edge-to-edge for now and not having any issues with it.

Bought it thinking it'd be a good temp protector. Just gonna keep it.
Its pretty great.

I bought these:
Screen protector
Case

Had them since Oct 2017 and still going great. Case is tight, not stretched. I cracked one screen protector with my keys and bought another.

Only issue I've had with the screen protector is it doesn't adhere to the screen, it just sticks around the edge.. so I get dust under it occasionally. But, it's also easy to pull off (intentionally mind you) and clean, so you can re-apply it and it works great again. Looks great.

Due to the top and bottom of the screen edging into a curve it makes it not perfectly flat. Therefore glass screen protectors are sized not to cover the full-screen glass and some are made too short (and ugly) on both ends. I see the image for the Spingen glass screen protector (link below) just listed yesterday on Amazon as an example of what manufacturers are best able to do. The glass protector leaves the last 3/16" uncovered at the top and bottom of the V20 screen.
I ordered a plastic full-screen protector, yet to arrive, from Amazon, the link also below. It's a wet installation screen protector for what you need a very clean dust free environment and a lot of patience. Note that this one is described as case friendly, which to me means the case will not mess up the edges by leaving an uncovered gap around the screen for clearance.

I just installed this screen protector: Amazon Link

This was the first tempered glass screen protector that I've ordered which came with a super intuitive guiding system. The protector leaves space around the bezel for a case, which is exactly how I intend to use it. It also doesn't cover the notch. The guiding system was ridiculously easy to use, and I got a perfect fit the first try. Plus, it includes 2 extra protectors, just in case. Highly recommend it, especially at the price I paid.

Coupled it with a Spigen Hybrid Armor and my phone feels well protected now.

  • Orzly are based in the UK and sell on Amazon (next day delivery with prime). I have one of these on my fathers Nexus 9 and would definitely recommend them, good fit and the oleophobic coating resists fingerprints well - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016ONT0RK

  • Intelliarmour are getting a lot of good feedback. They they don't have any stockists in the UK so you have to wait/pay for delivery but that being said - they're currently doing a 2 pack for 12.95USD & when coupled with their "intelli6p" coupon, means you can get 4 (2x2packs) for around £13 (gbp) delivered to the UK - http://www.intelliarmor.com/intelliglass-nexus-6p-the-smarter-real-glass-screen-protector.html

  • Spigen also do a TGSP but they don't provide an edge-to-edge version - I actually cancelled my pre-order as they changed the design without letting anyone know. I really wouldn't recommend this due to the fact that this will probably begin lifting off of the screen easily, and the fact that parts of the screen are still susceptible to damage - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016CBF5VO/

  • Ringke - I've never used their TGSP's but their cases are great so I don't see why their other products would be any different - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006MMHBNY/

  • Casebase - I have also never used these, but have heard good things on XDA - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016Y6RPR4/

    Hope this helps!

For a case, the Spigen Tough Armor is really nice in the protection it gives, it your phone still looks sleek as hell.

As for the one you bought, go back to the store and demand your money back. Should be pretty easy. Tell them you were told by an associate that it'd work perfectly, and it was garbage. If it's a retailer like Wal-Mart, you'll definitely get it back. If you got it through a wireless store like verizon, well... it'll be tougher. You'll probably have to call them out on their shit, demand corporate numbers so you can complain, etc. (Maybe you'll get lucky though.)

I am going to give you my conclusions after reading alot about this topic before I got mine.

The best one so far is Whitestone dome. If you can get it, do so and save yourself from wasting your money on products that wont work. Although it is the best, it is not perfect.

This one works the best that I have found. Easy install and great warranty. I made a claim because I dropped my phone and a little rock broke the screen protector. They sent out a new one for free and it arrived in 2 days.

Edit: the 1 star reviews about install must not know how to install a screen protector. It is the easiest protector to install. It literally took me 4 min to install the 2nd one. Just move the bubbles around (different directions) until the stay gone.

u/t-poke · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I had a Spigen tempered glass screen protector on my Pixel XL, and absolutely loved it. It only had adhesive around the edges, but if it was dot matrix, you wouldn't know it. Or maybe it wasn't dot matrix, I don't know, but I couldn't even tell I had a screen protector on.

I have not found anything similar for the 2XL. I have the Amfilm one on now, and it's not bad, but the dot matrix is clearly visible and I think touch sensitivity has suffered a bit. I am disappointed to see that Spigen doesn't have anything for the 2XL. Based on what I've read, it seems the Amfilm is the best TGSP out of all the mediocre options, but I would love a TGSP just like the Spigen one I had. Anyone know if Spigen has plans to make one, or if there's another one that is very similar?

u/mr-prez · 6 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

The best case in my opinion is this one by Urban Armor Gear. They're very rugged and barely make the phone thicker. I've used them on all my phones. My note 3 from 2013, my S7Edge, and now my Note 8. Never had any issues with them breaking or colors changing over time.

As far as glass screen protectors this one from amazon is pretty good. It even comes with a plastic guide so the protector gets perfectly aligned. The only problem is I can't use the screen protector and my UAG case at the same time. So I'm just using the UAG case by itself because that seems more substantial than just the screen protector.

u/_wbdana · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

Not the guy you asked, but https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074G1W2RC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . They are tempered glass.

My wife and I have used them both, and my wife has gotten two warranty replacements from them (both after she dropped her phone and the protector cracked). TBH, despite the 3.5 stars on Amazon, they're fantastic. You might lose just a sliver (1mm? less?) of screen real estate around the edges because they have a black border, but I would highly recommend them if you can live with that and follow the installation instructions. It's very easy to install if your phone is dust-free and you use the included alignment guide "case".

Here's the installation video for the Note 8:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8Ii95W5FBc

It's also compatible with the Spigen Tough Armor, which both my wife and I use as well. Haven't had any issues with S-Pen/finger sensitivity either.

Sure, it's the Invision MX150.

My personal thoughts - Really, really nice arm. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but it's honestly flawless for the budget.

No wobble, lots of stability and huge range of motion even for that 29 Inch Ultrawide LG Monitor, I can put the monitor on it's side and it'll fit. I'm not sure if you'll get a larger monitor tilting on it's side though.

u/eimaj89 · 2 pointsr/LGG3

I've used diztronic cases on my last few phones and have been happy with all of them. They fit snugly and still hold their shape after being pried off hundreds of times. I can't attest to the longevity of the G3 version, but the fit is great and it's under $10 on amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Matte-Black-Flexible-Carriers/dp/B00KN7UQ6I

Note that one of the black options is the "ultra" version, which is a bit thicker and has reinforced "bumpers" on the corners. I have the standard version.

u/tontoj · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I gave up on the tempered glass options and went with a film one I had on my Galaxy S7 and liked. I went with the IQShield LiquidSkin and it's a great fit. It's much better with finger prints compared to the power support junk too.

Great! I would suggest that you get either a gas spring monitor arm or a Vonhaus arm. I have tried many arms and had issues with almost all of them.

I have 2 of these arms

This is the combo I currently have on my phone. The screen protector is amazing and feels like the screen has nothing on it. Does collect fingerprints though. The case is amazing. It keeps the phone thin but still well protected. I would recommended both.

I got the Diztronic case in matte black for my gold XS. I’ve owned diztronic cases for the iPhone 6, 6s, and 7. I’ve owned a couple of other cases but I somehow always go back to this brand. The matte blue used to look amazing with the phones with white faces, but this is the first time I’m opting for the matte black. Hoping the gold shows through the camera cutout.

My notes and advice on screen protectors.

  1. Your screen can be scratched by sand in your pocket (Micro scratches).
  2. All glue tempered glass screen protectors are garbage (Low touch sensitivity and can easily fall off. The touch sensitivity issue is caused by the glue raising the protector from the screen).
  3. The plastic ones feel gross.
  4. I've tried DIY loca, it can be a hit or miss depending on how careful you are. Please do your research before attempting this.
  5. Whitestone Dome is amazing but ridiculously expensive.
  6. I've found that full adhesive screen protectors can somewhat protect your device from a fall. I've personally had Whitestone Dome fall face first, protector cracked, phone was in perfect condition. Although I'm not certain if the phone would have cracked..
  7. Use this. I've been using it for a month and it works flawlessly. It's also only $12.99 compared to Whitestone Domes $40+.

Note - My recommendation is a full adhesive LOCA screen protector. You must be careful when installing it. You've only got one shot. Unless you buy like 5.

I just got a clear protector (case friendly) from IQ Shield, and it's great. I tried a matte protector (full screen coverage) first, but I didn't have the patience to do the edges and ended up going with this one.

The protector itself is still larger than the actual display area and the borders work great with the Spigen Thin Fit case (I got it because of the cutout for a magnetic mount plate) which I'm also using. It's not a tempered glass protector, so you do get that plastic-y feel and small amount of the orange peel look, but that's just a fact of life with the wet-apply, plastic protectors.

I have the amFilm TGSP for my 2 XL.

It was good at first. Adhesive only on the edges. Dot matrix pattern. I noticed no rainbow effect like the Spigen ones had for the Pixel 1's.

Today, I notice there's a hair between the screen and protector. Seems it slipped in through the adhesive.

I went to their store and saw that they have a version with stronger adhesive, so I contacted them and am awaiting feedback.

If the TGSP is the same, but has stronger adhesive, then it's a win in my book.

Check out either the Spigen Rugged Armor or the Unicorn Beetle Pro. The first one is more of a slim/sleek option and the second is more akin to an Otterbox. I own both and I prefer the Unicorn mostly because I'm clumsy and it'll protect from drops. It's a fair amount thicker than the Rugged Armor however. As for glass screen protectors, check out the Spigen Glass Screen protector. It's a perfect fit and I've had my screen saved once by it. Smooth to the touch as it should be.

Zagg Glass is probably one of the better ones even though they're expensive. There are cheaper alternatives on Amazon, however, dust creeps in after a few weeks of use and you do get a little bit of the rainbow/ oil effect when the screen is off. Least with Zagg, you get a lifetime replacement if you keep breaking the protector.

Check out Whitestone Dome for the Pixel 2 XL too. Pricey, but looks like it solves all of the curved screen problems everyone runs into from time to time.

Personally, I have https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075WW69PS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works great with cases (X-Level Guardian and Spigen Rugged Armor). I do have the two issues I mentioned above, but so far it really hasn't bothered me all that much yet.

u/finewhitelady · 1 pointr/galaxys10

Yeah $20 sounds a lot more reasonable. Definitely wouldn't pay what Samsung is asking for it.

I actually just answered a call through the screen and had no issues with the touch sensitivity with my screen protector. I do have it set to higher sensitivity in settings.

I'm happy with it. Bought it after some pretty extensive online searching (here, XDA, etc.) and it's legit. Inexpensive, installs easily with the included tray, no bubbles or halo, and I don't often notice the black border. But if you have the regular S10 and not S10e, YMMV. Supposedly only the Whitestone works well with the fingerprint scanner.

I really like this screen protector because of the way it goes on. Instead of lining up the bottom, or using the hinge method, there are tabs at the top and bottom and you line the entire thing up and drop it down all at once. There has been some controversy surrounding USB type-C cables lately, but I've tried several different brands and they all work fine. Just spend the extra couple dollars to get decent ones. If you're anything like me, you'll find that having a few extra cables is necessary. I also tried those microUSB to type-C adapters, and they work, but it's clunky and awkward and I don't think you can do fast charging with them (not sure on that though).

After going though a couple of Whitestone protectors I gave up on them. They seem really bad about lifting which causes bubbles. Anyway I started running these amFilm protectors a while back and have been quite happy with them. They aren't perfect(there is some reduced touch sensitivity, especially on the edges), but for the price I'll keep using them. The oleophobic coating is pretty good when they are new, but it does wear off after a while. I'll probably be replacing mine pretty soon just because the coating has worn off, but at $10 each it's not a big deal.

Yeah, this is the one I've got, 30 quid and it does the job. Only up to 27" inch though which is the monitor I'm using - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0765Y4CT5/

I never, ever rotate my monitor though, I gotta tell you. My rooms quite small and I can only push my chair back so far and playing a vert on a 27" monitor in landscape is plenty big enough for me.

I always wanted to try tate out, but it felt more like a fun novelty to me than something that was essential.

If you've got a bigger room and a smaller tv/monitor, it could make all the difference, but that was my experience.

I've got an updated Tempered Glass from amFilm with much better adhesive. In my post history you can see me trash the version one and tried new ones.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WW69PS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_acZ-zb3DAMT2G

If you have a Version 1, send them an email via Amazon and they sent a replacement.

It's much better. There's sometimes a "rainbow" oil streak depending if there's moisture and humidity in the air which couldn't be helped due to no adhesive on the clear glass it self. So far, I am very satisfied. Better adhesive and no popping sound from poor adhesive. If you want to give this one a try, I would recommend it with the updated version.

Note: it's a dot matrix design and the dots are visible if the screen is off or tilted in an angle to the light.

u/apopheniac01 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote9

I really like the AmFilm ones. They come with a guide so perfectly aligned installation is easy, they have a warranty so they will send you one free replacement when/if it breaks, and they are inexpensive. I have had them crack a few times, but I feel like it's still cheap insurance to protect the screen.

u/goonersaurus_rex · 1 pointr/iphone

ummm...I dont know? haha. I just generally buy cheap ones through amazon - my only screen is an anti-fingerprint coating (which doesnt last forever but w/e).

Literally the determining factor on this one was the fact that the pack included a guide to help get the placement correct (first time I have seen that).

FWIW this is what I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073DLZWX7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't put too much thought into the protector. Mainly there to prevent light scratches - I dont expect it to save my phone from certain death. So with that in mind, the cheapo ones tend to do a great job. If it gets busted, no brainer to just slap a new one on.

I wanted to love this case. My problems with it are it's super slick, doesn't seem to offer much drop protection, and it's hard to pull down notifications with the fingerprint scanner. Also the screen protector sticks out past the lip of the case. I'm not clumsy by any means but I think the average person drops their phone at least a few times over the lifespan of it. u/Meeko6983 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote9

I've used phones with and without screen protectors. I can say with confidence that if you do not use a screen protector you WILL get microscratches at the very least. Depends on how vigilant you are with making sure you don't drop it or letting it come in contact with surfaces or debris that can scratch it.

I've been using this screen protector since October 2018 and it has been excellent: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FXLSTJQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_aCd1CbQ7WDZCV

I have the Diztronic Black TPU case and it's definitely not more rubbery type of TPU. It's flexible but of a harder type. Will probably be too smooth for your needs, and has no added texture/grip on the sides.

On a side note, I recommend checking out some Korean stock for different designs. Case Fanatic and some other sites have lots of case designs that aren't officially sold in US vendors (yet, if ever). Many are available on ebay if you get creative or lucky with keywords :))

I have a note 8.

I went without a screen protector or case for a while. I was totally fine with microscratches, I just don't want cracks. Well, eventually it cracked after one really really bad evening.

After getting a replacement with insurance, I know use a Spigen neo hybrid case and this protector

The only problem I've had is that I spilled some soda and a tiny bit got under the protector.

I hike a pretty rough trail about once a week. I haven't dropped it on the trail but I feel pretty confident about it. Ive dropped it at the office and at the house and obviously the phone and screen are totally fine.

EDIT: there is a small change in responsiveness. The only time I notice it is when I use the camera because I often stand it precariously in my desk and lightly tap it to start a timer. Now I have to brace it to tap it, or I use the pen, which can still just use a light tap.

Very affordable comparatively speaking. Very easy to install. Fingerprint sensor works great. Really like the Oleophibic coating. Fingerprints almost dissolve off the screen. Have had on for a month with no bubbles or separation. 2-pack is nice if you screw up, too. Taped up the buttons and speaker grills myself (the included tape isn't great).

I would suggest a Nillkin screen protector (you can find them on Aliexpress). They have a regular version that has a few millimeters gap from the edges, it's cheaper and fits even big bulky cases. They also have a full-coverage version with black edges for a more complete look.
Currently I have this on my phone: amFilm Glass Screen Protector for Galaxy S10e, Tempered Glass, Full Screen Adhesive, with Easy Installation Tray (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PP9Q288/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-MaPDb4CDJJJM

For those interested, these tempered glass protectors are amazing.

Got mine in today and application was streamlined, quick, and perfect.

What’s more, they go around the notch and wouldn’t end up causing any kind of issues with the sensor array.

u/shanmango · 2 pointsr/galaxys10

The stock screen protector felt the best to me but it got scratched up in a month. I tried one of those cheapo glass loca protectors off eBay which was ok except that the glue started peeling and the fingerprint sensor worked like 30% of the time.

I ended up getting an IQ shield film protector. It's an easy wet install and i've been using it for a couple of months with no issue. There's a slight orange peel effect but I don't notice it unless i'm really looking for it.

I want to add a monitor arm like this to my cheap Ikea Linnmonn which isn't very strong (150cm x 75cm variant): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Invision-Monitor-Arm-Height-Assisted-Adjustable/dp/B0765Y4CT5/. I've been told to reinforce the desk by sandwiching two pieces of wood between the arm clamp and desk to spread the weight. Is the sandwich the best way to go, or should I simply add one wood piece under or over instead? Thanks. Table top > https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/linnmon-table-top-black-brown-10251352/

Went OCD on the first of the two in the pack and ended up redoing it with the second and it went on perfect. Covers the main and second screens with a cutout for the camera and proximity sensors. The protector only covers the actual screen , not the entire face of the phone so there's a gap between the protector and the edge of the phone. I have a Ringke case on mine and the gap is never an issue. I actually like the way it looks when the screen is off, too. The protector is lined up perfectly and the cutout is not cover gmthe camera or the camera housing but the wide angle on the camera lens picks up the edge of the screen protector in certain pictures under certain conditions. Doesn't affect most of the picture but it is a little annoying. Otherwise the glass feels great, I dropped the phone on its face and no scratches at all. Glass is very strong and clear..I no longer have to worry about scratching up my phone.

Lets start off with cases. Below is a link to an article about the top 10 OnePlus One cases. You may also want to look into the tempered glass protection options. Some people claim the tempered glass is amazing, while others believe it won't protect your screen. A lot of factors play into whether your screen will crack when dropped, so sometimes you get lucky and other times you don't.

These screen protectors are a bit more expensive upfront, but I got codes for a lifetime warranty, as well as for a free screen protector for my next phone when I decide to upgrade. Works great too. Had a frame guide for putting it on with all the tools you need and theres 3 of them so if there’s anything at all wrong, you have plenty more.

u/pdinc · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNote8

I personally think the S-View cases from Samsung are an underrated accessory. They allow you to control media etc without even opening up the phone, and just look pretty sleek in general.

For actual screen protectors, it's a challenge because of the curved screen. I've tried a few, and have been very satisfied with amfilm - they're the most affordable, and if you register immediately you get upto 3 replacements free for damage. They do have a dot matrix pattern and have a rainbow effect under certain lighting conditions, but I havent found either to be a truly big enough hassle.

u/schaumwaffle · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

This Spigen Tempered Glass protector is the one I'm currently using on my black pixel. I've used 2 others since I've had this phone and this is by far the best. I really don't even notice it most of the time and it makes the bezels a darker black which looks really good. It is a little expensive for just one protector but it went on extremely easily and I think it is much worth it for the quality.

u/TTwoTerror · 2 pointsr/galaxys10

Yeah, the factory installed screen protector is surprisingly thin. I didn't realize how thin it was until I went to install my tempered glass screen protector.

I will say after browsing Reddit for s10e recommendations I narrowed it down to a couple results. If you're looking for a quality replacement I can recommend this amFilm Glass Screen Protector. The installation tray is pretty nifty and greatly improves on the ease of installation. There is a nice little 24-month warranty on it as well that you register on their website. I haven't had to make any claims, but with my typical usage I almost guarantee I will at some point over me owning this phone.

I also run fakespot on all purchases I make on Amazon and this one has an "A" rating which basically means they're not going out and purchasing a ton of fake reviews on their products.

u/haraldsdottir · 2 pointsr/ottawa

Sorry for the late response. I'm a 20something year old female student so I'm not sure my app needs will be the same as yours - generally any of the apps you've been enjoying on your iPhone will be available for your 6P too. I have a DBrand skin on mine (the dark mahogany finish) which is nice for minimal case-less use, but I also have a Spigen case and gorilla glass screen protector for optimal protection that I would highly reccommend(things tend to get scuffed easily going in and out of purses/pockets etc).

I usually find app recommendations on r/Nexus6P.

Matchup Report: Screen Protector + Case , Whitestone Dome glass + Spigen Neo Hybrid, result: SUCCESS

They work perfectly together. Would like a bit more of a lip on the top/bottom but hey, that's what you get with a slim case like the Spigen Neo Hybrid. There is zero interference between this case and my Whitestone dome glass application even though it's slightly botched and off-center by .5mm or so. You can't go wrong with this combination. BTW the Patchworks Flexguard does interfere with the Whitestone Dome glass application ever so slightly but that might just be because mine is botched and off-center by .5mm - the case pries at the glass.

u/HlValadeen · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I used this one. Sometimes the protector doesn't stick on edges occasionally. Not sure what causes it? Bad install? Too much or not enough liquid? Just bad plastic cover? Not sure but first one edges wouldn't stick so used second one and it stuck well. It's like a soft plastic instead of the small hard plastic of stock. At first I didn't like the soft but have grown to like it better. Once you get one to. Stick on edges it works Great so far. (common problem for all protectors)

I would recommend getting a Tempered Glass Screen Protector. I have this Spigen one and it's been great.

I'm still undecided on a case. I tried the Microfiber one from the Google store and it doesn't work well with a glass screen protector and the buttons were kinda mushy so I sent it back. I may just go naked with the screen protector since I have Nexus Protect.

Also, I'm a Dad of almost 2 year old twins so I can relate to your lack of free time.

u/Faltzer2142 · 3 pointsr/galaxys10

I am using This one and is great.

It does leave a little gap around the edges of the screen but is perfect for a case like the otter box to grab the phone. I have no issues pulling tabs and menus from the sides with the screen protector.

It also come with a plastic alignment tool so you can get the installation right on the first try.

u/neuromonkey · 0 pointsr/GooglePixel

Seems like the perfect place to ask!

As /u/afjeep says, the Spigen gets good mentions.

I can definitely recommend that you NOT get the Zerolemon. It doesn't fit the curve at the edge of the screen, and leaves an 1/8" "halo" of un-adhered protector. It hasn't caused me any problems, but it isn't a good design.

I've never seen a fingerprint sensor protector. I don't think it's a capacitance sensor, and I suspect that it might not function if covered. I'll go cover mine with Saran Wrap and see if it works...

EDIT: Wow! It works! I'm amazed! It reads my fingerprint and swipes through a single layer of plastic wrap. It correctly rejected my other fingers, but responded to the ones I'd previously stored. When a little piece of the plastic folded over and created a bit of second layer, it stopped working. So. One layer good, two layers bad.

Pretty much this entire thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/52zut6/since_there_isnt_a_decent_tempered_glass_for

It's basically the issue with the slight curved edge of the glass where it meets the edge of the screen. Glass can't be reliably bent (yet), so whatever options are there in the market are not really good solutions.

For me, I want my screen to look pristine without any scratches (which WILL come, even if it corning gorilla whatevermajiggy - it's not sapphire, so it WILL scratch).

The Orzly tempered glass screen protector that I installed barely a week after I bought my OPO 2 years ago is still going strong, with just one minor scratch, whihc is noticable only when looking at a reflection under a tubelight). And it has saved my OPO innumerable times, of course, this is more attributable to the Diztronic TPU case that I also picked up. I swear by these two

I'd recommend this guy for a screen protector (Spigen Full Cover Glass): https://www.amazon.ca/Spigen-Google-Screen-Protector-Tempered/dp/B01N8S5R93/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1501820609&sr=8-3&keywords=spigen+pixel

It's one of the only ones that covers the entire screen and doesn't have any halo or rainbow effects. There are some negative reviews on amazon, but I have it and can only assume that they must not have applied it correctly.

For a case I got the Case by Google silicon case (grey). Not the most protective, but I think it's pretty great. I tried out an Otterbox Commuter and an Incipio Dualpro, but I found they were just too bulky. Only issue with the Google case is that it's stupidly expensive for what it is. I grabbed mine on sale though.

Pretty much everyone recommends the Orzly tempered glass screen protector for the OPO. It's cut perfect, rounded corners, treated specially, etc.

I went with this http://www.amazon.com/Protector-PLESON%C2%AE-Tempered-Clarity-Hardness/dp/B016CUS84Q and am pretty happy. No complaints.

Also, went with this Diztronic case that is pretty minimal feeling http://www.amazon.com/Nexus-5X-Case-Diztronic-N5X-FM-BLK-R/dp/B0176S4DMY . I had a similar Diztronic for my Nexus 5 and it seemed to hold up for the few low impact drops my dumbself made happen.

Both the screen protector and the case work well together fwiw.

I have the Spigen Full Cover (https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Google-Screen-Protector-Tempered/dp/B01N8S5R93/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484849805&sr=8-1&keywords=Spigen+Full+Cover+Glass+Google+Pixel+Screen+Protector+with+Tempered+Glass+for+Google+Pixel+-+Black) With Ringke Fuision and it fits perfectly. I had a crappy Inskin tempered glass protector before and it had the halo effect, but the Spigen is perfect!

This is the screen protector I got and it fits perfect and makes the phone look good.

I'm using a Spigen tough armor/ tempered glass combo. The case has a metal finish and it matches the V20 which I like, whereas the tempered glass is crystal clear and it covers most of the screen and the second one. I highly recommend Spigen. I spent $25 on both accessories from Amazon.

This is the one I have that has the black edges. There's also a version with white edges. Some people complain about air bubbles in the middle, but I believe they were just applied poorly. I put mine on, waited 20 minutes, and decided to pull it off to adjust it. Fit perfectly with no bubbles.

Tampered glass, .24mm thick, easiest installation of my life.

A few things I recommend:

  1. CD Car Mount. They seem to hold the phone better than air vent mounts

  2. Power Bank

  3. Tempered Glass Screen Protector

  4. Spiggen Rugged Thin Case

  5. USB Type A to Type C for laptop/other chargers

I went with this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ACXSKAG/

It of course doesn't look or feel like the bare glass, but I'm happier with it (so far) than I expected to be.

u/Choup17 · 1 pointr/galaxys10

Installed this last night:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PP9Q288?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Bubble free, round edges to match the slight curve and very easy install! I saw this recommended on xda forums and it has exceeded my expectations.

Edit: this was the second screen protector I purchased, did not like the "jumpy" brand at all (Amazon).

u/Smoke14 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I had one from these guys for my S7 that worked well so I thought I'd give them a try first. I've had this one on my S8 for about a week and it is working well. It has a lifetime warranty and the price was right :)

u/devmaw88 · 1 pointr/galaxys10

I ordered amFilm from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PP9Q288 Can be tricky to put on, but instructions are very helpful in getting all the bubbles out. No lifting. Hope this helps someone else.

u/postdochell · 1 pointr/OnePlus7Pro

I've had this one for a couple weeks and it's fantastic. Only complaint is the installation was somewhat difficult as it kept slowly sliding down before it had dried even though I'd done my best to make my desk level. So I had to carefully nudge it a little bit to keep it centered as it dried/cured/set whatever it's called with the UV light.

u/Trixter313 · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I had the same issue and ended up settling with a non glass protector, until I looked on Amazon again and found this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WW69PS/

It's my first adhesive around the sides only protector and was surprisingly easy to install. Micro dust specks don't matter anymore because there's no adhesive on the clear parts. The only issue I had was one time I dropped my phone and the screen protector just popped off. I stuck it back on but there was visible dust underneath it from the ground. Contacted support and they sent a new one out.

Spigen makes a good TGSP for the OG Pixels.

I've ended up buying a monitor arm from invision I found the Ergotron and Amazon basic too expensive 100 gbp :-O and the invision is 1/3 of the cost, had some good reviews as well. I can report back with feedback about the arm if you guys want.

u/hufflepuffinthebuff · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I've bought multiple of these tempered glass screen protectors on Amazon and use them along with a phone case. The screen still has the same feel and responsiveness.

They hold up really well against cracking during everyday use and normal drops and falls. The only minor problem I've had is that dust can occasionally work its way under the protector, leaving tiny little spots (but that's on a phone that is constantly in a very dusty environment). I dropped my phone screen side down on dirt/gravel and accidentally stepped on it. The screen protector shattered of course, but my phone was perfectly fine with not a scratch on the actual screen.

Edit: link to the correct phone model

I HIGHLY recommend this protector: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073DLZWX7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Comes with a plastic guide to ensure proper placement.

u/jmullin09 · 3 pointsr/GalaxyS7

It's the screen protector that you want to be case friendly. https://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-Protector-Replacements-Anti-Bubble/dp/B01ACXSKAG Like this. Not the case itself.

u/jakeuten · 6 pointsr/iphone

MaxBoost has Amazon Prime shipping and 3 tempered glasses for $10 with a tool to help you align the protector.
