There are many other brands but these are good quality, well reviewed, and usually up on a daily deal every so often if you are patient. I wear a HTv2 or a happy go metal cage and have the below on currently and they work. My package underwear is also great though not available on amazon to the best of my knowledge. Not every brand and style will work equally for all, like finding a cage that works.

• Supima cotton v-neck tshirts: Seams down the side of the shirt. I'm used to Jcrew washed cotton. These were no where near Jcrew quality. Returned them.
  
• Seamless boxer briefs: while they are cheap, the fabric is cheap. They fit weird. The tops roll down, and they make my junk look all weird and embarrassing. I did keep a pair because they were teal and my SO liked the color but said they smelled like melted plastic (that smell has mostly washed out).

  Customer service was great. I'll probably try them again soon on something else, who knows. It's definitely frugal wear. I'd say if you're used to something like Brooks Brothers, or JCrew, you might not like the quality.

Man here, but I want to chime in and say that while expensive, these are the most fantastically comfortable underwear my junk has ever had the pleasure of hanging out in. They also look awesome, and my girlfriend loves them.

Papi Brazilian trunks. Changed my fuckin life. Durable, comfortable, and affordable. If you’re a briefs guy or a guy that needs support because of your equipment, these things are great.

There’s some really expensive underwear out there, and if I hadn’t found these joints I maybe would have shelled out the dough to test drive them.

But I did find them and they’re fantastic. I replace them about once a year. Best value in underwear I’ve ever found: all-day support, ample “package space”, non-wedgie-inducing, soft and durable material, etc.

I have gone to numerous field problems and also deployed with these drawers. They are the real deal.

Edit: just so you’re aware these wear like briefs. The photo is a bit misleading. Brazilian trunks are to briefs what Brazilian bikinis are to swimsuits: smaller than you think. They do not cover a straight line across your legs if that’s the look you’re going for. They are briefs for all intents and purposes. I’m just using their company’s nomenclature.

Still the best drawers for the money I’ve ever found.

• These are inexpensive, pack of 3, if you zoom in you can see the seams are out of the way. They're fairly soft. However, they don't keep you quite as "dry/cool" due to being 50% cotton, and they lose their shape/elasticity slightly over time.
  
  
• This is 92% polyester 8% spandex, it holds it shape perfectly and will be very cool/dry. However, it does have a middle-seam, but personally I don't find it uncomfortable. That might vary person-to-person. Slightly more expensive, only 1-pair.
  
  
• This is 91% polyamide/nylon, 9% spandex. It will keep you dry/cool, but unlike the 92% polyester above, it will feel much softer than any other blend. Holds its shape perfectly. These types cost more because they feel softer and they look sexier. The nylon/spandex types are more skin-tighter. But if that sort of stuff doesn't matter to you then don't bother I guess.
  
  
• This is much like the above, modal/lycra is nylon/spandex. The one pair that I have doesn't hold its shape quite so much but it's a looser fit. It feels extremely soft, but there is a seam. Causes no problems for me, though. But I don't like the waistband logo, so I do in fact prefer the above, because you can cut off the Jockey tag and there's no logo anymore.
  
  I'd start by solving your seam-chafing problem and go from there. It's hard to say for other underwear because most trunks/boxer briefs do in fact have the mid-seam, but the difference is that they do a much better job of supporting your junk and keeping it in place, so less movement= less chafe. And regardless of seams or not, they will probably feel more comfortable so long as you pick good stuff.
  
  Obviously you could spend more time shopping about, but those I personally own and like. But no two dicks are the same. Everyone should be picky about their underwear. But, I'd go with #1 since you're used to boxer shorts.

Calvin Klein got me from boxers into boxer briefs, then briefs. Then CK started adding paper tags on the inside waistbands, so I had to switch

Now I love my David Archy "trunks". Longer legs than tighty-whiteys, but shorter than most boxer briefs. Easy-breezy, stretchy material. And enough support for the gentlemen fruit, without squeezing them. It's a perfect little hammock down there.

(When I go running, though, I get back into something with more support for the twig and berries.)

I wear trunks they have like 2 inch inseam? just short enough to fit under most short shorts. Briefs are also an option.

I have these. They are nylon and CK brand so a bit pricey but sometimes they go for $12-15 on amazon, I have found them for $8 at Marshalls. They are incredibly soft and feel amazing. Even wearing skintight leggings nothing shows up. but that might be a case by case basis since my junk is not that big in the first place. Well I feel like those undies pouch area prevents any bits from being outlined.

I always recommend checking out Calvin Klein, although they are definitely more pricey. My personal favorite are their Steel Micro Low Rise Trunk, but they are most definitely out of your price range. Honestly, the underwear will last you a long time. I saved up some money and just bought sets of 4 of black, gray, white, dark blue. It's enough to hold me over for almost 2 weeks without doing laundry.

Keep in mind their trunks, and not boxer briefs, so they are technically smaller. CK makes actual boxer briefs though, just look around.

For the record, I'm 6'4", ~185 lbs, 32-34 waist.

My junior year of high school I transitioned from boxers to these Calvin Klein Low Boxer Briefs and haven't looked back at the decision.

Wool is supposed to be good for underwear, although I haven't tried it out myself. Cotton is bad with smelling. Cotton socks, cotton underwear, bad idea.

personally I like calvin klein boxer briefs. But if you're on a budget just get hanes. Also be mindful of the length. If you wear fitted pants the boxer briefs with roll up. That was the problem with boxers for me, all the bunched up fabric whenever i pulled my pants up.

These are pretty quality, though may fail the 'big ass names on the band' metric. It's not a well known brand if that helps.

Also it's made of modal and has separate penis and ball pouches. Comfy as fuck.
