🎓 Reddit experts on golf equipment
The comments and opinions expressed on this page are written exclusively by redditors. To provide you with the most relevant data, we sourced opinions from the most knowledgeable Reddit users based the total number of upvotes and downvotes received across comments on subreddits where golf equipment are discussed. For your reference and for the sake of transparency, here are the specialists whose opinions mattered the most in our ranking.
I think anything with iOS should be able to use it, to the best of my knowledge, and any hitting net should do the trick. I have a Rukket golf net that I use with mine that works awesomely. I can hit driver into it and not be concerned about damaging it. The projector and screen can be set up above the net, I think, if you want to do the immersive simulation, but even the MacBook screen and/or TV would be perfectly well-suited for the driving range play, especially as you get more familiar with the feel of what happened with a shot. WGT is free to play sim rounds on, which is awesome, but the short game shot recognition is super frustrating, lol.
The ability to play rounds/hit balls in your house is super convenient, especially because you mentioned you don't get to get out to courses much, and the ability to learn in your own home environment without risking judgment out on a driving range is super handy for newer players. If you both enjoy golf as much as it seems like you do, I think it'd be a great investment.
The answer to your question is out there. Only, we cannot answer since we don't know your flaws. The best thing to do is get a single lesson from a pro, ask him to give you some drill and even ask him what training aids would be beneficial for you. He even might use some training aid during the lesson.

I used this aid to help my elongated back swing. Took me a while but now I have much better tempo and actually get more speed.

This is a good tool to use on your swinging to make sure your upper body is working in unison.

Check out some of these tools and look up some drills. I am sure you can find a few that would help your game. Good luck!
I use the Breaking80 IS800. It works great, fantastic battery life, pin lock up to like 300 yards, accurate up to 800 yards I believe, fits in the cup holders of all carts, super simple to use, great customer serive, lifetime
warranteereplacement, good price.https://www.amazon.com/Breaking-80-Golf-IS800-Rangefinder/dp/B01A91M8ZY
Doesn't have slope feature.
Ok I have a good idea. Get him Golf balls and but them in a gag gift box P.S If I win I would like a gift card so I can save for some supplements and vitamins.
I would highly recommend the Bridgestone line. I play the E6 and love it --- very soft with a putter and forgiving in the air.
Since you're going to lose a bunch, might I suggest this option?
I bought this bag, took the ~20 or so E6's to the course and use the rest as practice balls in my backyard. For you, it's ideal as you won't tell the difference between the various Bridgestones and still have a quality ball everytime.
CaddyTek SuperLite Deluxe
I bought this cart yesterday and it was perfect for my high school student budget. I did a lot of research and the quality is great for the price you pay. The reviews are great and it is on sale for $71 right now.
Heyo!
In addition to the special below we're giving away 1 of these to a lucky golf member. PM me for details on how to enter!
We're running a big special this week.

I recently bought a Pinemeadow 64 degree wedge for $10 bucks on amazon just because it was so cheap and well reviewed. I'm actually really impressed.
They have full sets that are really cheap and well reviewed: http://www.amazon.com/Pinemeadow-Golf-Set-Driver-Hybrid-Regular/dp/B007LO34HO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427137688&sr=8-2&keywords=pinemeadow
I would definitely pick these over my starter Strata clubs if I could do it all over again.
I'm really falling in love with my Arccos 360.
Besides that, my Frogger towel is amazing, as long as I remember to get the inside wet before a round starts or the course has a fountain/cooler I can use.
I also have a hat clip ball marker from my alma mater that I really love, feel weird when I forget it.
Amazon has a deal on Srixon Q-star Tours. A dozen for $19.99 plus 50% off if you subscribe and save. They feel like premium golf balls yet have low compression for slower swing speeds. Definitely one of my favorite golf balls for the price.
Srixon Q Star Tour Golf Balls, White (One Dozen) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M05B9W0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ym0SCbDRKBPHN
here it is http://www.amazon.com/Potty-Putter-Toilet-Time-Golf/dp/B000LC65QA
its so unique and cool and funny and you can go to the toilet and you can still play golf with it :)
I just started playing the Callaway Hexbites after looking at a bunch of alternatives Amazon link
Right now I loose around a sleeve a round and couldn't justify paying for the TP5 and ProV1's I had been playing. Still wanted to get a 3 piece urethane with at least at L-M rating, if not a L-H (First letter is spin off the tee, second is spin around the green USGA ratings) I've been liking them.

From lessons I've got the most important thing is to play one ball and get more consistent. I'm a 19 handicap and just go out with my buddies and have really been liking the Callaway can't really beat it at 35 bucks for 2 dozen. Once my handicap drops below 14 (if it ever does) then I'll look to upgrade my ball again.
one of the best things i ever got was a cheapo vinyl scorecard/pencil holder.
I keep that in my back pocket, mark all my stats for every hole, and then enter it into oobgolf.com for tracking.
Best of both worlds
(I track Strokes, Putts, Club off the Tee, Fairway hit/miss, Sandies, and Penalties)
EDIT: This is the scorecard holder I was talking about
I bought this one but haven't received it yet. Should get it Monday. Reviews are pretty good.

KAEDE Golf Balls, 12 Colors (One Dozen) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GP65L4C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vdElDbY7YQA16
$49 a dozen
Read the reviews, pretty funny, especially the one from “Heather Rando” lol
Many on this sub will direct you to Costco to pick up some Kirkland Signature balls, because it's become a fad. Honestly, find some Wilson's or Top Flite's (gasp), those will be the cheapest options that aren't totally unusable.
Personally, I picked up 4 boxes of these Wilson's from Amazon, and they work fine for me. I'm not very good either, so take that for what it's worth. https://www.amazon.com/Wilson-Titanium-Ball-18-Pack/dp/B003BF8NSM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480688155&sr=8-2&keywords=wilson+golf+ball
I typically buy used AAA balls like callaway or nike which are like $20 for 50 balls and in my experience they have been good enough quality for me. I've been golfing infrequently for several years (I suck) but even though they're used they've been good enough for me
I learned with the Wilson Ultra package set: Wilson Ultra. It was a good set to start with and make sure I was going to stick with golf. I upgraded after a while once I had taken lessons and decided I like playing.
Cheap set off Amazon. Wilson Golf Women's 2017 Ultra Package Set, Right Hand, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XKP5HSC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_JF4PzbZ55PX7C
Something like this. No need to spend anything more. Don't let anyone talk you into spending over $200. Unless she is highly athletic and played baseball she won't be able to hit shit for awhile. Just be cheap. Brand new cheap looks better than slightly better ugly shit she still can't hit.
If you're giving her "lessons" just let her hit. Step in every 20 or so with a small correction and go back to hitting your own. Don't let it ruin the relationship
I use this one.
A bit more than $100, but I have been very happy with it.
Wilson-Staff Duo's are pretty good. HERE
These Callaway HexBite's might do the trick, as well.
I have the CaddyTek and it works great for me. Half the price of a clickgear and gets the job done just as well. It also folds up small.
These seem awfully cheap.
http://www.amazon.com/Solar-Powered-Panel-Front-White/dp/B004C2AQJW#
This might be terrible when it blows hot air, but add in a small water drip behind it, and it will be pretty cool.
I love my Frogger Amphibian Towel. Keeps my clubs clean throughout a round.
I'm also obsessed with hat clip ball markers.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002KW71N0/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_-TUxtb04RZ6T4
Good news! You can get him some balls and it'll only cost you $20.99. You better hurry though, there's only 2 left in stock, don't let them run out his birthday is over, it's on the Wishlist.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PR2HRDO/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1562PD9A5DLYN&colid=273EHJT6AJ4F5
You can get a dozen for $23 with this link. At that price these things might be interesting enough to try out lol

While this is true, there are scorecard holders that are often seen in pro's hands. One of the players on my golf team had one, and said he bought it because it was easy to keep track of in a golf bag, kept the scorecard from getting crumpled, and was easy to write on.
I believe it was this:
http://www.amazon.com/Callaway-C40104-Scorecard-Holder-Black/dp/B005THYP3M
Looks like your GPU may be overheating. Try getting a more powerful cooling system.
https://www.amazon.com/CaddyTek-EZ-Fold-Wheel-Golf-Push/dp/B00HK7801W/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref=yo_pop_d_yo_pop_d_pd_t2
It was really nice to use. I’d recommend it.
I got these and I was able to see what suited me. I ended up loving the e6 and the treo soft. I would say about half the balls were e6's, maybe 8-10 e5's, 8-10 e7s and treo softs were the rest. Balls were in pretty good condition, there were a few yellowish ones, but didn't affect performance.
This is what I have. It's not hard rubber. It's like bushy astroturf. It has a ton of give so if you hit fat you can tell and it's a lot easier on your joints: http://www.amazon.com/36-Super-Tee-Golf-Mat/dp/B007XW6264/ref=zg_bs_3411351_14.
I just bought this off amazon. It's a little more than your budget but only takes a couple minutes to set up and seems like a solid investment.
If you're in the US, you can get the Tour Preferred (1 generation older than the TP5) on Amazon for about $28. Other good choices would be Srixon Q Star Tour and the Taylormade Project a. There's also a new Project (a) that launched 1-2 weeks ago.
All of the above have urethane covers, which will generally generate more spin on your irons and wedges.
If you live somewhere windy, I can not recommend the GustBuster enough. It is the best umbrella I’ve ever owned. I used it during 50 mph winds and it did not invert!
Rukket Haack. https://www.amazon.com/Rukket-Haack-Golf-Coach-Chris/dp/B00NSWHZCS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492026516&sr=8-1&keywords=rukket+haack
Got it when it was on sale for $109. Easy to put up and down. Big enough to catch errant shots. High quality, lifetime guarantee. Buy it. You won't be sorry.
I've been very happy with my Gustbuster. I've used it frequently for about three years now, and it still looks basically new.
I don't know why so many people keep posting that here. Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like you can buy those on Amazon for $30-50 a dozen, depending on options. So roughly in the same price range between Titleist's TourSoft and ProV1/x.
https://www.amazon.com/KAEDE-Golf-Balls-Colors-Dozen/dp/B07GP65L4C/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=kaede&qid=1563367529&s=gateway&sr=8-2
Just bought these myself : http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007LO34HO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1373560853&sr=1-1&pi=SL75
Not a complete set as it doesn't come with bag or putter. I'm just getting back into golf and I've played 3 times with these so far and I love them. They are clones of Taylormade Rocketballz. For $130 its a steal as far as I'm concerned.
I wouldn't get too excited. Most offices have fun events around the holiday season even if it's just a few drinks, but most won't make this a regular event. If you want some time on the green there is probably an affordable mini golf course close to you. You could also get one of these and keep it under your desk.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LC65QA/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/179-8962187-6655713
THIS. When I put it on and start swinging with it my swing is much more compact and my ball striking improves drastically.
If anyone wants one, lol
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004C2AQJW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0361CbPGNCY9W
you know, since you're interested in buying it
how about a Solar Powered Fan Hat?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006PP92H6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1504195222&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=caddytek
Something like this would be a decent start. They also have a little higher end one for about $120.
Sure thing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QPJH53C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm going to guess it's the umbrella holder attachment for a 3 wheeled golf cart such as this.
Average 4 stars - so pretty good. And this one's even better apparently:
http://www.amazon.com/GustBuster-Classic-48-Inch-Automatic-Umbrella/dp/B0009E3EDM/ref=sr_1_5?s=golf&ie=UTF8&qid=1413927686&sr=1-5&keywords=vented+umbrella
Oh, and so's this one:

5 stars!

I've got the country club elite mat in my amazon cart and this net.
After seeing the Potty Putter advertised on television, I'm convinced there's no such thing as a silly idea. So go for it. In California, stores have forced reusable bags onto their customers.
Its a Rukket Haack Net. Got it on Amazon for $120 ish on sale. I think its 130 now but don't quote me on that.

Amazon says these are $24 (2 piece) or $50 (3 piece) per dozen and non-conforming.
I have never used them, but
Here are some real life reviews.

If that's not your style, here's one for "baseball golf"

It's that flat black portion that made me question it, normal caddy's come back up in a "V" frame between the wheels. For example https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006PP92H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_IiXpzb79J482J
I know it's not the prettiest thing but this should help during daylight

If I had it to do over again, I'd go with u/DoubleHappyDave and his DIY advice. But I bought a Rukket:

Now, there's a disclaimer I must add: I'm on my 3rd Rukket, and the first two didn't last more than 2 days before failing while I was only hitting mid-irons into them. They sent me the second and third net at no charge, and I didn't even install the 3rd one until a couple years later (I bought and used Mesh Tarps and used the Rukket frame in the meantime, I'd kinda given up on Rukket). But I believe they changed the manufacturing process ( the older model was like two nets sewed together, the seam was a weak spot) and that the nets are better built now and can withstand constant use with any/every club and any ball speed you can muster. I've been using my current net for a few months now with no sign of failure. But, with any net, I'd always suggest some sort of backup/redundancy.

I'm a beginner and use these. They feel like sand bags, but they're cheap as hell. I still lose a lot, so I'm not ready for $20/dozen yet.
