My current hair removal strategies.
I still have not done much with my face, as that device does not allow for facial use on men. (Not sure how I qualify there...). I was planning on doing professional laser and probably electrolysis on my face. My hope is that I can get away with using this to reduce hair everywhere else to the point where it becomes a non-issue.
You can pretty much cook as many steaks as you can fit in your container, so long as you keep them somewhat separated. I like to use cheap steel cooling racks for this. They'll rust, but that doesn't really matter.
As for container recommendations, get yourself a restaurant-style plastic food bin. They hold heat a lot better and are better shaped than a big pot. I have a 5 gallon Rubbermaid model, which works very well for medium to large cooks. I've fit four racks of beef ribs in there (barely!), and an 4-bone rib roast in that thing, as well as a metric butt-ton of kabobs (about 15 lbs!).
However, if you're just feeding yourself and/or a significant other, it's probably a bit overkill. In that case, going for a 3 gallon squarish bin is probably a good idea, since you can buy aftermarket lids for them to fit your sous vide cooker.

I think any 4-5 star Amazon IPL Will work but this is the one I bought. It's $90 but personally I think it's more that worth it to never have to think about hair again. In the manual it goes over what level of flash to use on face but definitely start easy as different skin has different sensitivities. It also recommends covering moles/beauty spots so they don't absorb the light. Also check to make sure your skin tone is light enough and hair is dark enough to work with it. Light skin and dark hair works best. Hope this helps!
I've been lasered. I'm fair skinned and I was growing a very dark beard. It just was getting worse. Finally a trusted provider opened a laser office and the price was outstanding, so I had 6 visits.
The effects of that lasted about a year. Hormone beard is a tough bear to scare off and most of it came back. However, instead of shaving twice a day, I was only shaving once, so at the very least the rate of growth slowed.
Then I saw that Braun offered an at home laser unit. It's not as strong of a laser as I had in the professional office, but I was willing to buy one to try it for at least the convenience. I found it the least expensive through Costco.
12 weeks later and my beard has diminished by 80 percent. I still have the thickest and most determined whiskers at the very tip of my chin but a daily shave keeps them at bay. The best effect is that I do NOT have five o'clock shadow. So while I could shave before you knew I grew a beard at the end of the day even without stubble. With this at home laser the growth has so slowed, even halted, that I look female again!
I will keep up weekly treatments for another 12 weeks, twice as long as what is recommended, on my chin. There are plenty of flashes in the device. It's not especially painful and it's just so easy.
All in all, happy with my purchase. And blonde fuzz doesn't bother me.
I got the DESS permanent hair removal device. It works amazing. I also use this electric razor that works great. It's only around $15 and it blades are good for like 6 months for me. In combination it's good enough after a couple laser sessions. I would also recommend getting professional laser hair removal for the face done at a clinic, their lasers are more powerful. Typically laser sessions are $100-$250 a month, or total around $1500-$2500.
Sure, ask away.
We purchased one of these and so far it is working great for us.
They say it gets ride of hair for several months, but it looks like that is just the length they have proven to the FDA.
You will have to retreat after ~6 months when the next "phase" (not sure of correct word) of hair follicles comes out of their dormant period, however it seems that you just have to treat each "phase" with one series of treatments.
Even if we had to retreat a couple of times a year it goes really fast, and the cartridges are cheap.
TLDR; If you have the right skin/hair tone, well worth the $250, at least for us.
I was going to say Olay Pro X Face brush but when I looked it up it's closer to $20. There are a few cheaper off brand ones though that I think could still be good.
I also use a little travel facial razor like this one on amazon. Mine is literally the as seen on TV one though and I see it for less than $20 in stores that have as seen on TV junk. I got it as a gift but it works surprisingly well...one of those things I probably would not have picked for myself.
Beauty Blender knock offs like the Flower Sponge but I think they are less than $10.
I've never done a favorites party so I am not sure if this is the right type of thing or not.
I know, you said laser, and whatnot.
Just to toss it out there, I've gotten pretty far with this. I had the one without a quartz bulb first, and it burned out pretty quick. It had been doing it's job, so I upgraded for the longer life bulb. Now, a year later, legs are much better, arms are down to peach fuzz, and I'm still working on face. Quartz bulb still going strong.
Definitely do NOT skip purchasing a set of laser safety glasses with it. They are a lot less dark than sunglasses, but do a lot better job preventing that 'sand in eye' feeling of a little retina damage.
I wouldn't recommend it for dark brown skin tones, but if you're lighter skinned, it's wonderful. Same goes for laser, really.
I was a long time shaver with similar issues to you. I recently invested in a at-home laser hair removal system and it has been awesome. I have been able to pretty much give myself a permanent bro-zillion. I am naturally very hairy so this was no easy task.
Braun Silk·expert 5 IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) BD 5006, White/Bronze - Permanent Reduction in Hair Regrowth at Home for Body and Face, Corded for Non-Stop Use + Limited Edition Kapitza Beauty Pouch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GKS3J6L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_D4.gDb0ZEDWGY
Yep. I spend a good 30 minutes every morning tweezing my facial hair. I recently bought a [UV Light Hair Removal tool] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DITG9S6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which has helped to eliminate a good deal of my body hair.
Something I would describe as undoubtedly male would be getting an erection, I guess. I've never really had any sort of relationship because whenever I feel excited and turned on, I end up feeling gross about two seconds later. That "grossness" tends to stick around until I stop feeling horny. I genuinely like that excited, horny feeling, I just don't like the way it physically manifests itself.
That being said, I understand what you mean about things feeling "bearable". If I don't think about it too much, I can touch my genitals without having a meltdown, especially with routine stuff like showering.
This!!
I had the same experience as the OP a few years back but tried again ~3 months ago and it’s different this time, for a few reasons, I think:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DITG9S6/ref=emc_b_5_i
You can actually get their best version for cheaper than the Pro Plus Quartz (which is what I own) right now with the clipped coupon. Reaaalllyyy good deal. I don't advise getting their "base" version as it is very limited (bulb cartridge doesn't have anywhere near enough flashes to do extensive work) and not as effective (glass bulb vs. quartz).
I'm not sure if it's the best thing out there right now, though. But I do know that these ones actually -work-. So you may want to do some sleuthing if you aren't sure. I got mine last year so there may be more effective ones now.
I used the sharper image laser hair removal and it significantly reduced the hair on my legs. They don’t sell it anymore :/ but I replaced it with this and it’s good so far: MiSMON Laser Hair Removal For Women and Men, At Home IPL Hair Removal Device for Permanent Results on Face and Body - Safe And Effective IPL Technology https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JDD11X5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UAYxDb8X8RS90
Thank you very much! I was reading about the Tria on its Amazon page under Important information - Indications.
I'll definitely give this a thorough read-through within the next couple of days and I may come back with questions. Thanks again!
I use this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KKCP3ZB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I only started using it a couple weeks ago so I can't speak to its longevity, but it is working pretty nicely so far.
I have scars from razor burn. I can only use an electric shaver. I have this: https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-ES8103S-Electric-Nanotech-Cordless/dp/B001DNE3KQ/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?
And this to maintain: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco-Multigroom-attachments-QG3330/dp/B00ARF42H0/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?
If you're light skinned with black hair, I HIGHLY recommend laser hair removal. It has changed my life. I have had both professional and at home. The professional is far superior, but I've had some luck with this:
https://www.amazon.com/Silkn-Flash-Hair-Removal-Device/dp/B00HX27AM4/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?
Not quite. It's superficially similar to an IEC C7 (which most people call a figure-8), but the socket only has the 'key' indentation on one side - it should be on both sides.
Looking at the pictures in the Amazon link:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61PeW7cGVpL._SL1001_.jpg
and reading the text:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hatteker-Professional-Cordless-Waterproof-Rechargeable/dp/B078Q2KQNR
It's clear that the only mains item is the wall-wart / plugtop power supply, and that the clippers charge from a 5v USB-derived supply.
The cable is USB (5 volts) at one end, and 'slightly unique connector' at the end that plugs into the hair-clipper. but will absolutely still be five volts.
If OP finds a mains lead which will physically fit in the clippers, there'll just be a loud bang and that'll be the end of them.
If you Can save up a couple hundred dollars, you can buy a hand held unit. They run between $200-$400.
I was able to get this unit for $217 from Amazon when it was on sale. Keep your eyes Open:
https://www.amazon.com/Tria-Beauty-Hair-Removal-Laser/dp/B00DWZ1H2K?th=1
https://www.amazon.com/removal-DEESS-device-Not-stand-alone-installed/dp/B072PVSJZL.
As far as the end results, ive only been using it 3 weeks(once a week for the first 4 weeks, then once a month)
So I'm not done yet but hair is already growing back much slower on chest and the hair on my hands has stopped growing almost completely. I assume it would just look like you're fresh shaven all the time but i need more time to see for myself.
Have you considered laser hair removal? I also have fair skin and dark hair (so I've had similar problems) and I just learned a few months ago that the combination of light skin and dark hair makes you a prime candidate for laser hair removal. I found that several companies sell hair removal systems for home use that are FDA approved. The systems don't use lasers per se, but high intensity pulsed light. The light energy is absorbed by melanin in each hair, which warms up the hair and destroys the follicle so it doesn't produce any new hair. In a few weeks, the hair falls out and doesn't grow back again.
I ended up buying the Remington system off of eBay for around $110 and a new bulb cartridge off Amazon for $15. I've seen great results so far. I've used it on my calves twice and I have much less hair growth -- there are a few places were no hair grows at all and the hair that remains is thinner and grows slower (the hair follicle is likely already dead, but it's just taking awhile for the hair to get pushed out). I've also used it on my underarms and there's much less hair. I was somewhat skeptical at first, but I'm very happy with the results. According to the instructions, you need three hair removal sessions spaced two weeks apart to see the full results. I started my third session last night but the bulb died so I just ordered a new one for $18. The way things are going though, I think three sessions will be enough.
I had no idea that home hair removal was a thing until a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd share. I estimate I'll spend about $150 overall, which is well worth it.
I am also a hairy guy as well been looking at different options. I don't know how well it works but the review videos I have seen give the product decent reviews. But can you really trust people on the the interwebs?

I had my underarms done in an office, but then bought a device on Amazon and have finished off the pits and did bikini and legs myself. It takes a little longer than in the office but results are comparable. Office visits are every 6 weeks and doing it at home is one treatment per week. Faster, cheaper in the long run and just as effective.

I have a home laser device, and holy wow has it ever cleared me right up.
Now im a lazy lady. so i skip weeks when i shouldn't. but i only did 2 runs on my legs, and went from needing a shave every other day, to needing one every 2 weeks. and the hair is spotty AF. on my arms and chest, neck, back, and cheeks.
i have lasered my face 4-5 times now and it has slowed the growth, but i still have a solid shadow. it is defiantly getting thinner though.

Women shave their body, do you want silky smooth women's legs?
>I know the body builders do it and also fake tan.
Because they get judged on their muscles. Hair covers muscle definition and fake tan defines them.

I believe this is a man's subreddit. Maybe you'd get more luck in /r/Ladyboys/
A quick google search says the size is more in line with a vcr.
As for my advice, for as much as this thing costs, I would keep an eye out on your local Groupon/Living social for laser hair removal deals. I've seen 3 different spas advertise at 90% off packages in the last 8 months or so in the area I live(I paid 99 bucks for three treatments on a small area). If she is willing to be a little patient, she can be certain for sure the professional treatment will work and not be subject to flimsy craftsmanship.
Edit to add the treatment didn't hurt at all for me, but it did smell like burnt popcorn.
If she's self-conscious about it, one of those pain-free shavers would be a nice gift.
I have waited several years after IPL consumer devices were first introduced until I purchased one, because I wanted to make sure they are not total fakes. I don't know any tech stuff, but it's not laser; just some painless light impulses heating up the hair roots, making them fall out over time. Nowadays all the big companies make them (e.g. philips ) and I bought one for a whopping 200 Euro. I am absolutely and positively convinced of that thing. It beats sticky waxing, hair bleaching, stinky skin-burning hair removal mousses, and godawful fucking epilating. Only little shaving left required to finish off the hair I was to lazy to zap. Unless this is what you mean with "laser treatment" (though it sounds different) that you had, I would implore you to invest that money and give it a try, to give you a chance of the same relief that I felt. Though it does depend on your skin type and willingess to invest the time to cover your skin in all the desired places:
I got normal caucasian skin, tan well, brown hair; when I shave my legs, the stubbles look awfully black. That kind of hair works really well for IPL though.
Pro:
It takes about 5-6 sessions until all hair really falls out. Except for the black underarm hair and bikini area hair. About 80%-90% of that one usually falls out within a week of my first session in spring (I get lazy in winter)
Cons:
I use one of these. $300 new but I got mine for about $100 from eBay. I expected laser to make all the hair grow back more slowly, but it's made patches of hair just never grow back. I'm making decent progress, but I do still have to shave every few days, and I've used it 10-15 times on my whole body.
nah, can give you a linkf or it though xD.
there was a coupon when I bought it, don't know if disappeared due to purchase or if took it off.

Show her this. There are several things like it. May be worth shopping for longer lasting or permanent hair removal.

Though you can probably get a cheaper one and still be effective. I just have more money than sense sometimes.
Searching the major trans forums finds most girls have had luck with home "laser" (really IPL) systems.
The one I've heard the most about is actually the Flash n' Go by Silk'n, probably for its low entry price.
Edit: having had actual (diode) laser treatments (and finding them quite effective), I can imagine that home IPL systems would produce similar results. The principles are the same, after all, it's just the power level that's different.
I’ve seen epilators... once you get serious, the pain isn’t so bad.

TMI: I'm not bald as a baby down there but I've o my done 3 treatments. I used to suffer a LOT of ingrowns and my pubes were always itchy. Always. I don't notice them now and I still have a few ingrowns but nothing like how they were. Also, I don't really think it hurts but I have a crazy pain tolerance so ymmv. It just feels like touching a hot light bulb for a second and it smells like burning hair. Feel free to ask me any questions I'd love to talk about my pubes w u
