Posted this on other account but it got moderated, had a bad word OOPS :(
I'm going to be blunt but it's in your best interests. This may also be long.
I don't think you have a large head as someone else has said, and there is nothing wrong with a square shaped head, it is not exclusively a masculine shape. In fact I see quite soft features when I look at you, which certainly would be improved and amplified with HRT.
The wig - It is very obvious and I would not recommend wearing it out in its current state. Depending on finances, you can do incredible things with hair extensions with just 4 inches of hair, which for most people is about 8-12 months of growth from a buzz cut.
Extensions - Depending on finances, as I said with 4 inches of hair or more you can get incredible extensions from a salon, they know how to make them look great (check reviews for your area though).
A cheaper option is clip in extensions, for a full head I recommend no less than 230 grams including the clips at about a 20" length. These can also be clipped in to very short hair an example video being here. I have only 2" of hair on back and sides and about 6" of hair on the top and using this method I get a flawless finish, I curl the top length of my hair and the extensions so they blend a little easier. This will also depend on your hairline but there are hairstyles you can use with extensions to cover that as well, and they look much more natural.
Makeup - I'm going to be very blunt in saying everything about it is wrong. Wrong shade, wrong tone, wrong finish and application.
Wrong shade - Your makeup is way too dark and it definitely makes you look like you're wearing a mask.
Wrong tone - Though hard to tell with pictures it looks like it is a yellow based foundation, so a warm tone (or cool tone if you go by macs definitions). Your skin to me looks pink based, so cool toned but I would never recommend a cool toned foundation to anyone so you should look for something in neutral tones to be safe.
Finish and application - You have applied it way too thick over your entire face, and the finish is too shiny, it is highlighting on ALL the wrong places to highlight.
How to fix it!!! :D
For beard cover I recommend Maybelline Dark Circles Eraser in probably the shade 'light'. I use this personally myself and it is incredible at covering beard, as it has a slight orange tone that does not require heavy foundation to cover but does neutralize the blue tones in beard shadow. It is a liquid concealer and doesn't look too heavy on the skin. I apply a layer all over with the sponge tip applicator and powder over it before putting foundation on (I will recommend a powder shortly). This product also works great for its original purposes as an under eye concealer :D. You may want to eventually buy a second in the shade 'fair' to give a little under eye highlight.
IF you find this and foundation are not quite enough cover, as I don't on some days where I have especially dark shadow (perfect contrast to my pale skin) I will use the Nyx Dark Circle Concealer in Medium underneath the maybelline concealer just to enhance the orange tones slightly, it is very sheer however and does not provide coverage on its own, it is purely to add more orange tones.
Foundation - I use Loreal True Match and for you I would recommend the shade N2, obviously test this in store to make sure you get the right shade as I am only going off photos.
I would apply this over the powdered beard area with fingers and a dabbing motion, kind of gently slapping your face with two fingers, this gives the best coverage. For the rest of the face I recommend a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge as this gives a lighter coverage and a nice texture. Once your beard coverage foundation has has a few seconds to set, you can also bounce this over it lightly to adjust the texture in that area.
Powder - I use Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent. For a pressed powder it's quite fine and doesn't add any coverage (less cake), however it will ELIMINATE that shine on your face!
Some additional things you aren't doing as far as I can tell are blush and contouring, I love Nyx Powder Blush in Mocha for blush and Nyx Powder Blush in Taupe for contouring. They are both lightly pigmented making them hard to muck up, the mocha is not overly pink and in-your-face and the taupe is perfect for contouring as it is not orange and is very neutral. You will find 1 million and 1 YouTube tutorials on how to do both of these things properly.
The final thing I can say is you're muting your lips out and making them almost invisible with your foundation, buy some lipstick to fix that, and you can always overdraw the middle of your top and bottom lips slightly with a lip liner, but be sure to go over your whole lip if you do this, you dont want to be left with those lines if your lipstick wears off. :D
I know this is a long post, but if even one bit of information is able to help you, or somebody else it's all worth it. If you have any questions feel free to PM me, I usually check this account once per day :)
Heya, welcome to RAoM!! I hope you enjoy it here :D Also, happy birthday c:
I'd definitely recommend picking up the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk -- it's a great base that really makes colors pop! It's also really creamy, so it blends out easily.
I also love my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I have Rendezvous (a very orange-y coral) and Lovestick (bright pink), which are perfect for summer. I also have Romantic (pretty true red) and my sister has Crush (a darker plum), which are great for fall. These are really easy to wear because they feel just like lip balms, but they're also very nicely pigmented.
If you want to play around with a lot more colors, I would say go for the Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette -- I use at least one color from this every time I do my make-up! It's not too pricey, but it gives you a lot to experiment with :)
I think it would be a pretty great time to pick up some brushes. Since you're just starting out, I'd probably go with ELF brushes because they're super cheap. Here are a few of my favorites (although I'd recommend looking in store at Target, because the white brushes are only $1 and the black ones are usually only $3; they might be cheaper on the ELF website too):
Eyeshadow Brush -- great for packing on the color
Blending Brush -- because everyone could use a nice blender!
Contouring Brush -- really great for applying color in the crease
12 Piece Set -- I don't actually own all these brushes, but it looks like a great set to start with, especially for only $12!
As for something I'd like...well, I'm currently obsessing over this lipstick in Black Cherry, because it is the PERFECT color for fall, and I don't have any other dark lip colors :3
Oh yea, and Summer Fun !
Of course! Here's my list of products with a short review of them along with price.
Benton Steam Cream. This steam cream is a great cream to put on after any toners/ampoules but before any heavier moisturizers (the philosophy of skin care layering is put on the thin stuff first and heavy stuff last). I really like this product, it helps with redness and acne-prone areas. This isn't a spot treatment for acne though, FYI. $13.99 on Prime
Mizon Acne Pink Spot: This is what I use for spot treatments on a zit. The important thing to note about this product is that you should let the layers settle. You should see a slightly clear yellow liquid at the top and an opaque pink at the bottom. I think the pink is calamine lotion. I take a Q-tip and put this on any breakout I have before I go to bed. This has helped minimize the size of those pesky pimples that haven't come to a head. I bought this 4 months ago and I barely made a dent in it. $14.33
Biore sunscreen. Ya'll. If you don't buy anything else, just make sure you buy sunscreen. It doesn't have to be this one, but sunscreen is probably the BEST thing you can do for your skin. Do it everyday, even in winter. Especially if you use any sort of actives like BHA or AHA or retinoids. I use Differin at night and Stridex in the morning and I always slather on this sunscreen. It has a lemon scent and it doesn't leave a whitecast because this is a chemical sunscreen instead of a physical sunscreen. Please keep in mind this sunscreen has alcohol in it to help it dry quickly so if your skin is alcohol sensitive, I recommend patch testing to be careful. $19.99 for a 2 pack.
TonyMoly Panda Dream Brightening Eye Stick: I'm blessed with very thin skin under my eyes so any missing minutes in my 8hour sleep routine will immediately show up on my eyes. This stick is great for helping brighten up that area in the morning. Use it as a primer under makeup. $6
This section is for makeup:
Sulwashoo Cushion A little pricey on the upfront cost but the refills are signifcantly cheaper once you get the container. I love this makeup. I'm not a fan of full coverage foundations so I skew more towards BB creams, but this is a nice cushion that give a tiny bit more coverage but still make your skin look like you're not wearing makeup. I use Medium Pink. Cute little container and it came with another refill cushion. $39.00
Skinfood Peach Sake Finishing Powder: Ok here me out. I actually use this product, which is labelled as a finishing powder for your makeup, as a dry shampoo. It's seriously the best dry shampoo I've used. I use a kabuki brush and dust it on to my oily roots and it dries up the oil without the powdered wig look, wasting half an aersol can, or the "dry shampoo smell". THIS SMELLS LIKE PEACHES, YA'LL. This box of finishing powder has been with me since February and it's not even half empty. I've never had a dry shampoo spray last that long for me. Get on this. $7.97
That's all for now! My laptop is about to die. :)
Wow, that's a pretty big haul! It's great that you've got some knowledge of basic skincare and makeup! You can also check out the Beginner's guide for some more information on Asian skincare. The Holy Grail list is also a good introductory resource for different types of layering skincare products, and some makeup products. If you know your skin type and concerns, you can also check out the February Routine thread to see what other users have in their routine and if it helps them.
Now, on to the main concern of your post!
Primers
Like other users have mentioned in your original post, you do have two eye primers. Do you intend on wearing eyeshadow often? If yes, I suggest that you try them and pick the one that works the best for you. If it's possible, you could return both and try the samples instead.
Setting Powder
I think the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder and the Skinfood Peach Sake Silky Finish Powder are great. The best thing about them is that they work wonderfully (given that it's not caked on), and the smooth finish lasts the entire day for me. They are also cost efficient, and you can find plenty of reviews online.
Sun protection
I haven't tried that Shiseido sunscreen, so I can't comment on the quality and effectiveness of it. I suggest that you try it to make sure that:
I prefer using the Hada Labo UV Creamy Gel and the newly formulated Biore
Aqua Rich Watery Essence. I find that both of them do not cause me to break out, or leave my face feeling oily and greasy. They are seriously my HG. You might want to consider trying these as well! They are a bit cheaper than the Shiseido one, and the PA+++/++++ protection is a huge plus!
Lip tint
For $12, the Sephora lip stain is not a bad pick up! That's about on par for most Asian lip tints.
Eyeshadow palettes
Many Asian eyeshadows are neutral colors and tones, and are not as pigmented as other American brands. Personally, I don't mind this because it suits my tastes, but others might. I am a fan of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and I do recommend them if they aren't out of your price range. I also like the NYX palettes because they are quite affordable with good color pay-off, and the Innisfree Mineral Single Shadows because of the sparkles in some of the selections.
Before you purchase, you can also do some research and look for reviews of other palettes that you're interested in (unless you feel like being adventurous!). Most reviews include swatches so you can see how that color looks on that individual.
I can't comment on the blush or lip primer since I don't use those types of products often in my routine.
Regarding your skin type and concerns... What is your current routine? For color correction, there are many products that help with lightening redness. I have seen much success with using Missha's Time Revolution FTE (old formula) and Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule. These products usually go on sale often, so be sure to check out the Missha sales. You could also look into incorporating some vitamin C, AHA, or BHA products in your routine as well.
There are also many moisturizing creams that can moisturize your skin! You can look through the two lists I linked above to find some of the popular ones that ABers recommend.
Lastly... before I fall asleep ... You don't have to be afraid of skincare and makeup! The process of finding your HG products will require trial and error. Here, I would like to stress that makeup and skincare is very much YMMV. What works for one person may not work for another, so that's why it's important to patch test and do research! For beginners, I would not recommend buying a full sized, expensive, product before trying a sample of it or doing research! The best thing about Sephora is that you can ask for a sample to try at home before you commit to the purchase. That way, if it causes a breakout, you wouldn't have to worry about wasting it or having to make a trip to the store to return it. In addition, by being mindful of the ingredients, you can potentially find out which ingredient(s) cause a bad reaction and avoid it.
We're all very friendly and helpful here, and many of us are able to answer any questions you may have! There's a daily thread that's stickied, and you can ask specific questions there.
Best of luck!
Hello all, in a previous post made yesterday, I had replied with a picture of a drawer of my Alex 9 unit and received a few of inquiries about how I made my drawer organizers. So, I decided to try my best to tell you how I did it. I apologize I wasn't able to make a complete step by step with a ton of photos, but this process was done over a year ago, and I wasn't really planning on doing it again since I finished!
Materials Needed:
Ruler
X-acto Knife
-I would recommend some extra blades as well-
--Foam Board (the more the merrier)--
Flathead Pins
--Contact Paper--
-The blades become dull fairly quickly, I think I used about four during the process-
--I was able to get a piece for $.99 at Michael’s on sale
---I decided to wrap each piece with contact paper because it makes it very easy to clean. In my actual vanity, I used fabric and it has gotten dirty and damaged and I 100% don't recommend it--
Template Materials:
Copy Paper or Grid Paper
Ruler
Actual makeup products
Steps:
Some other things to note:
In my palette drawer, I created L shaped panels to allow for the palette to be better seen
I also purchased from byAlegory a liquid lipstick and lipstick organizers to build around
In my lipstick drawer, I purchased little glass beads to allow for the products to stand up better
My paper towel drawer has a holder which I created using a wooden dowel and clay
Also, I grabbed plastic liquid dispensers to easily get to my various liquids
Managed to slice my finger open making little lids of acrylic to hold all my disposable paper products
*Most of my other acrylic pieces have been purchased from MUJI
I hope you enjoyed my
~teal battlestation~, if you have any other questions about it feel free to ask. And I'm sorry if it was unclear at all. And, I'm 100% aware I have a stupid amount of makeup that I've gotten over the years as a makeup artist, Sephora employee, and a true Make Up Addict.Sleek (a UK brand, but you can find it on amazon) makes some pretty good palettes in that price range. I'm not particularly impressed with the quality of my NYX palette (their single shadows are more consistent) but I think Sleek does a good job in terms of texture and pigmentation.
Here is a neutral palette by them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008QYAJXU
A brights palette:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008B60N84/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1375148980&sr=8-3&pi=SL75
I'd shop around and find a palette you're comfortable with from them.
Also, Coastal Scents is really inexpensive and I think the quality of their Go Palettes are pretty impressive. I would avoid their really big 88 palettes though. I have the feeling that the bigger the palette from them, the worse quality it is.
I have Beijing and the colors are so pretty! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005UBN3NU/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?qid=1375149120&sr=8-16&pi=SL75
I also have their brush kit--I would recommend that as well.
As for drugstore brands--Wet n Wild's "Comfort Zone" is a GREAT neutral palette and its only $4.99-$5.99 at drugstores. Their other shadows vary in quality, but for the most part, they're on par with NYX for a little cheaper. I also really like Sonia Kashuk's neutral matte palette (my mom has it) and that's about $19.99 at Target.
Oh, and definitely pay Nordstrom Rack a visit if you're looking for higher-end brands at ridiculous discounts (I see UD and Smashbox there on the regular!) Just don't buy a palette with colors you're not comfortable with using because its from a high end brand. When I was starting out I bought UD's old Fun palette because it was on sale and I seriously only ever figured out how to make one shadow work with my skintone. I ended up loving Wet n Wild's comfort zone way more.
Have fun!
Most of my stuff is high-end. Probably not terribly wallet friendly for someone just starting out and trying to figure out what you like...But when you factor in I've been using makeup for (cringe) 26 years and my skin can be incredibly picky...
Invest in the stuff that is closest to your skin...like your foundation. I have not yet tried the Korean BBs but I hear great things about them and the prices seem incredibly easy on the wallet. /u/Feeling_Pretty is our resident expert. I'm just scared to get into them because I can never find swatches online and I'm insanely pale.
I'm personally a fan of the Smashbox BB because my skin doesn't always get along with stuff that already has SPF in it and this one doesn't seem to bother it.
I also love Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner because it wears really well on me - I have issues with eyeliner evaporating by the end of the day. Not the best for travel because of the built-in sharpener (I lost one to the TSA because of that teeny-tiny blade and it made me sad) so plan to chuck it in your checked luggage or have a sub when you travel.
Mascara - go drugstore. I'm using a Stila one right now because I lucked into the Beauty Brands Mascara Sale earlier this year and bought a couple for $9 each - slightly more than I would have paid for a Covergirl or a Maybelline (they usually run $7-$8 where I live). Since you should religiously change your mascara every three months drugstore is better on the wallet.
As for eyeshadow...I can personally vouch for the Lorac Pro and the Stila in the Light palette. Both have good pigmentation and wear beautifully (I do use a primer due to oily lids) and have enough variety in them I can do lots of looks with them. The bonus on the Stila is you also get a coordinating eyeliner.
You can also shop eBay for sample lots. Most of the time it's folks that have amassed a bunch of samples and want to get rid of them. Great way to sample lots of stuff at once - but do look at the seller's feedback rating and read the reviews left in the past six months.
If you're at all comfortable and have one nearby you can't beat a trip to Ulta or Sephora to try stuff out.
(Part 2/2)

Face:
Foundation - Nars, Giorgio Armani, L'Oreal, and Elf cosmetics (Elf is one of the cheapest and best drugstore foundation out there!) have really good ones!!! ...If you want something that makes you glow, get a sheer coverage foundation ...apply primer under and then some liquid highlight before applying the foundation - trust me, you will glow!!!
Concealer - Nars is the best or you can even try another drugstore holy grail that is cheaper by Maybelline to hide scars, breakouts or dark circles.
Blush - Milani has some really good blushes! So does Sephora brand or Makeup Forever.
Highlighter - this will definitely make you glow whenever the light touches your face!!!! Hahah, MAC and Anastasia Beverley Hills has amazing highlights. Wet N Wild also has very cheap highlights for like $3-5 that are blindingly glowing if you spray some MAC fix plus on your brush and then go in with the highlighter!
Makeup tools:
Really good to have some starter ones to practice with and they make your makeup look better + you waste less makeup.
Elf cosmetics and Real Techniques has some amazing starter brushes... the eyeshadow brush set and the face brush set by Real Techniques is really good for the low price you make for it!
Perfume: Definitely go to Sephora and try out every one of them (sometimes Amazon has sales on luxury perfumes for less!).
Fashion: ASOS, Forever 21, Mango & Target has some really cute pieces of clothing. Check Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration!!! :)
Other: Get the men's Gillette razor has the other person mentioned!!! It is bomb! Haha... I use conditioner or coconut oil down there when I shave.... it's better than shaving cream and it prevents the itching and stuff! lol For legs, I use Nair Hair Remover Lotion (Amazon usually sells 3 a pack for like $15 - really cheap!!!) or Gilette shaving cream for women! Also, don't do this always ...it can damage your teeth, but once in awhile, it won't hurt your teeth... take baking soda and water, make a paste and brush your teeth with it... your teeth will have that instant whitening effect. Don't do this always, but you can definitely do this when you do to those fancy occasions and you gotta make your teeth look sparkling white! lol, works like a charm! :)
Hope that helps!
I'm not that "girly" either but here is my input. Since you leave your hair down, I'm assuming you don't have crazy poofy hair like I do so I would suggest getting a haircut with layers and side bangs. Easy and pretty. Get a good straightening iron and wear it straight or use the iron to flip the ends out. You could also find a lightweight hair serum (like frizz-ease), work it through hair and let it air dry for some natural waves. Yes bobby pins are always good. You could pull back one side with a few pins and instantly look a little more polished. Pick up some pins with a little sparkle or color for an extra treat. As for makeup, you will need tinted moisturizer, loose powder, powder brush, blush, blush brush, eyeshadow (find a good pallet), eyeshadow brush, eyeliner (I use this applied with a wet liner brush but pencil is easier), liner brush (optional), mascara, chap stick (burts bees is awesome), lip color (this and this very sheer and pretty). I have this brush set and I love it. Throw in some nice fragrance oil like this and you are set up with the basics!
This is my little [Kiko] (http://i.imgur.com/MTHNvqY.jpg) aka Kikololo/ Kikonono aka bebe dog aka nub dog aka cat dog. She's a little asshole but we love her anyway :) fun story after my fourteenth birthday I got about $125 from my friends at my party. I left it hidden in a basket on my coffee table when I went to bed, and when I came out in the morning, she had gotten onto the table, gone through the whole basket, found the money, and shredded it. And she's also really not the brightest little lightbulb, but she tries so we don't criticize her :) and she sits only on the back of the furniture so we call her a little cat dog. And she does this thing I call her carpet shnuffling where she puts her face on the ground and her butt up and she runs around like that for a bit<3 okay I'm rambling now but she just leads such an interesting life hahaha and [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Himalaya-Herbals-Kajal-2-6-g/dp/B004FZAKQA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=337XGNTAUQ2R8&coliid=I1G9OF0OX090C2) and [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Wet-Wild-Coloricon-Eggshells-380B/dp/B005C50W3I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=337XGNTAUQ2R8&coliid=I2HNM6T2Q4MOEN) and/or [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Coastal-Scents-Makeup-Palette-Beijing/dp/B005UBN3NU/ref=pd_bxgy_bt_img_z) would all make my life absolutely complete <3 they're all like a dollar haha although it might total up to slightly over $10, I hope that's okay? I really can't math hahaha
Fabulous! Here's my list. I have very, very high expectations for dupes (got screwed over too many times trying to dupe NARS Orgasm), so if something isn't exact I'll say why!
Foundation:
High End - Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup
Budget - L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder The ingredients are in the same order, except the L'Oreal has less irritants!
Finishing Powder:
Eyeshadow Palette:
Eye Primer (okay, cheating a bit):
Face Primer:
Eye Liner:
Brow Product:
Blush:
Highlighter:
Contour (skipping bronzer - sorry, don't use them!)
MLBB Lipstick:
Other MLBB Lipstick (found yesterday!)
Just remembered: Lip balm!
I have a rather extensive list of lipstick dupes, so if anyone's interested I can reveal it :) Happy shopping!
This is one of my favorite questions to ask people! My husband and I are big on paying it forward.
Last christmas, the Doc Mcstuffins doll was one of the hot toys. We were lucky enough to get one for our niece, but it turned out that she already had one. People were selling it on eBay and Craigslist for 3 times its worth because it was in such high demand. We decided to list our doll on cl for the price we paid ($50, I believe). The woman who inquired first seemed so happy to find the doll... When she showed up to pick it up, she handed me the cash. I handed it back to her and said, "No charge. Merry Christmas." She shed a few tears and thanked me profusely. It was awesome.
The items I'd most like to have are: Eco Tools 6 Piece Eye Set, Coastal Scents To Go Palette Beijing, or Sleek I Divine Oh So Special palette
Thanks For hosting... Great question! How about you?
Hey, I'm in the same boat! We just happen to have the disadvantage of not having fat deposits under our eyes, thin/fair skin, and deep-set eye sockets. Talk about a triple whammy. Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done short of surgical intervention (such as fillers) but maybe you just need to try some different makeup techniques.
Maybelline's Dark Circle Concealer has been one of the better concealers I've found recently, it really does a nice job and stays put with some setting powder. You could also consider playing around with color-correcting powders to neutralize the discoloration. There is also the Dermablend brand that has become famous for their heavy-duty makeup that really stays put, but is on the more expensive end.
Also, are you moisturizing enough, especially around the eyes? If you slap on a good moisturizer after washing it can help to retain some of that water that you've added to your skin, making the area appear more smooth and plump. Perhaps something like CeraVe's eye cream could help you out.
And hey, if it's any consolation, I think you're really gorgeous - that hair! Those eyes, those freckles! Try not to let one little facial feature issue get to you too much, you have so many other beautiful things going for you!
Honestly, making something would be the best present.
Or getting something that you could make WITH her.
Here's some modeling clay thats only three dollars
I know if my kids did something like that with me as adults I'd be crying happy.
Or I just got this peach hand cream that smells exactly like peach rings and makes my scaly mom hands feel silky soft
Or a nice good smelling bath bomb
If she likes makeup this nude pallet is really good the colors are so stinkin pretty and the sparkly ones aren't too shiny for a subtle look.
Again for "girly" things, there's [this mini nail drying light](

There are these super cute lovable otter socks
Or for good old shits and giggles, this coffee mug
You know what's save me a ton of money on cosmetics? Working from home. One of the many advantages of working in my dinining room (other than the short commute from the bedroom) is I'm not wearing make-up every day. I am also not popping into the drugstores at least once a week (dangerous territory, it's so easy to splurge on a new lipstick or mascara, and bada-bing, there goes $20).
But obviously I'm the exception to the rule -- if I were going outdoors every day I'd be made up as usual. Still, you can do great by getting eyeshadow palettes at Amazon, and hit your local discount stores to snoop for bargains. I was in Manhattan last week and went to one of my fave discounters where I snagged three different shades of Revlon lipstick for $1.99 -- for the three of them, not each!
Here are a couple of links of Amazon for great eyeshadow kits at amazing prices -- and the colors are gorgeous!

I have the 2nd one listed and the colors are terrific, great pigmentation, and you can't beat the price!
I Heart Drugstore Makeup!
Amazon :) I'm an avid amazon shopper. I've invested on my storage slowly but surely over the past year. It used to be such a mess. I think these are the links to all the acrylic storage I have:
Hope that helps!
*edit, whoops, I forgot my other two lipstick organizers
I hope this doesn't seem like a cop-out, but I don't know what it is yet! I have Chocolate Bar and am planning on getting a new palette SOON, either Lorac Pro or Pro 2 (or something else, I'm not 100% sure yet). So whatever my fall color will be will be on my new palette, whatever that is.
Speaking of, I have my eye on pretty much all of the Sleek palettes, though I don't know how work appropriate they would be...but I especially like these:

Okay, that's several things and not all palettes but I'd be tickled to get any of them.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I think it's neat we found each other on here again; I just hope I can be more active these days.
It's not cheap, but I'm in love with my UD Electric Palette. I find uses for it fairly often. Adding a touch of color to a smokey eye or that kind of thing is pretty fun. It's understandable that you wouldn't want to spend that much though. I had an 88 color palette (some chinese brand) that I got years ago that worked pretty well! It's pretty cheap and the colors are small, but it always seemed pretty pigmented. http://www.amazon.com/Coastal-Scents-88-Original-Palette/dp/B002QANC2A
So, this is definitely kind of weird, but I hoard bike parts. Old parts, new parts, pieces of bike parts that I tell myself I'll fix, basically anything that was once on a bicycle, or belongs on one.
I like to tinker and I like to ride bikes, so it all started innocently enough. I have two bikes built out of some new, some hoarded parts: right here! and a pile of extra parts waiting for my next project. Plus, this 25 (ish) year old frame that is waaaay too big for me but I can't bring myself to let go of it: [this guy!] (http://i.imgur.com/qPieP0r.jpg) I wish I collected something cute, or fancy, but no. It's bike parts.
(Not pictured are the multitude of screws, bolts, tiny metal things, etc that I took off various projects and kept, because who knows when you'll need an old bolt, right? probably never, but still...) Anyway! If I were to win, I would love to give this a shot. Thanks for hosting!!
For moisturizers and the like, I definitely recommend going to /r/SkincareAddiction, they're very nice, lots of information and everyone is very helpful. They can help you find some good moisturizers to try.
As for other more makeup related things, I've had my eye on this eyeliner set for a while now, and I might get it from a different seller when I have the disposable income (I'm currently a mostly broke college student).
I live in a really humid place, so I've got my eye on this setting powder
I'm also a sucker for cute things, so this is on my wishlist too.
If you do want to try out some BB creams, this set isn't too expensive.
I really like the Maybelline color tattoo eyeshadows. I have two, one in Pomegranate punk, and another in electric blue. They're waterproof, so I use sweet almond oil to take it off.
My Amazon wishlist is about half skincare stuff, because I think the two go hand in hand. Also I wear makeup now that I feel more confident about my face and skin.
That is incredible!! Congratulations!!!
And this is such awesome way to celebrate and something I've always dreamed of doing. Here is the link to the shadows I've been eyeing for months but just can't pull the trigger on. I only put one link to save time but I love the teal, emerald and purple. I'm not sure how much that will come to so I'm adding this as well. It's so hard to choose from all the pretties on my wishlist!!!
Thanks for hosting!!!
I absolutely LOVE the Coastal Scents palette. It's like a Z palette but more organized and cleaner. I actually bought this palette because it also came with some CS singles in colors I liked - I wanted to try out the CS formula and it wasn't much more expensive than an empty one (plus Prime shipping).
I assumed I would get rid of 90% of the shadows but ended up LOVING probably 75% of them. In fact I ended up placing a Coastal Scents order for more of their singles, I liked the formula so much. Now I use that palette to rotate my most used singles from UD, MAC, and Makeup Geek and it is PERFECT. Huge sturdy mirror too.
Here and here are great eyebrow tutorials I really like. You said you have really sparse natural brows- have you ever tried an at-home tint kit? They're really affordable, the one I use I get on Amazon here. It helps me use less eyebrow makeup, and it dyes the lighter hairs next to my brows so I have more to work with when I pluck and shape mine. :)
I'm still learning contour too- I spotted your blending thing because it's an issue I have with my own makeup. If I make my contour too dark, it's super hard to blend and is just stripes on my face. Too light and it just looks like I wiped dirt on myself haha. You're doing fantastic, I look forward to seeing future looks from you! Do you have an insta?
Heroine Make waterproof eyeliner. The pencil is very fine, but the pigmentation is amazing and it lasts all day. It's also easy to remove.
I bought it at first because I fell in love with the package, but it was a good purchase. If anyone wants to give Japanese makeup a try, I highly recommend this product. https://www.amazon.com/Heroine-smooth-liquid-eyeliner-Waterproof/dp/B00RWME3MU/ref=pd_sim_194_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=X21ZHGMRBXAG0K37RXGJ
I know that I might get downvoted for this but anyways. This is the ideal package for a starting trans girl with limited options.

I'm so excited that you are going to transition. The heck with what your parents think, it's your life.
Okay so I saw you said $25 so here's my input.
I was just glammed Meet Matte and I'm really enjoying it. This is the older one which is why it's cheaper. The new one is $42.
Nude'Tude is supposed to be a great UD Naked dupe.
Naked Basics is amazing. It is perfect for wear every single day. I love it.
These Sephora palettes are pretty good. Sephora isn't the greatest brand but it's better than the cheaper stuff and these palettes are a nice deal for the amount you get.
I also really like Too Faced and this is an affordable palette of theres.
I don't know if this counts but I did some Pokemon makeup for fun one day. My two favorite pokemon! Pikachu and Oddish! :)
Pika Pika
If I win of course I needs some moar makeups. :)
Happy early birthday! :D
I'm so looking forward to fall because all the orange! It is my most favorite fall color. And this year, I have Fire from Stila's In the Know palette, plus all those lovely neutrals to pair it with. I can't wait!
I'd love to add Coastal Scent's Fall Festival palette to my collection this fall, and given the theme of this contest, I'm going to pick that as my prize if I were to win. Throw in a NYX lip color or blush if the prize needs to be closer in price to $25, but I'd be just as ecstatic with only the palette. It's so pretty! :)
I hardly ever see /u/iwontremeberthis entering contests, and she's always so friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to indies, so she's the one I'm tagging in!
It's my party!
Such a great idea, I did this same thing last week for my birthday! For my birthday, I would hope to receive one of the Sleek palettes on my wishlist, like the Garden of Eden or Oh So Special! They look sooo nice and I'm on an eyeshadow no buy, so it'd be fantastic.
Happy birthday!
I'm also assuming that you are still learning makeup basics, so here's a list of a few things that I think would make a solid set which you can find on amazon or, most likely, at your local drugstore and won't break the bank:
In total, all this will run you about $100. Not cheap and I'm sure others have better suggestions but I hope this helps a bit.
Mega grats! Life is so much better when work is going well. That's really amazing and I hope your employer sees how awesome you are! :)
Now down to serious business: C'mon big money, big money, no whammiiieeesss STOP!
If I had $30, I'd definitely go for NYX Cosmetics The Smokey Eyeshadow Palette, the Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette and NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania.

I’ve tossed everyone of my KVD products or given them to friends who don’t care as much. I have hooded sort of monolids. Oily and really difficult to find things that work.
I’m fairly certain KvD and Sephora just repackages asian eyeliners to sell since most are “Made in Korea” lol. Same with their brow products at ABH and L’Oréal.
It's hard to judge myself here on the nicest thing I've done. I tend to think I'm a fairly generous person. So I'll just share my relationship with my cousin and how I think it reflects my nicer side..
My cousin has divorced parents, her dad is a factory worker and her mom isn't the nicest person in the world....when she was 16 she got in the car with her brother and left her mom's house, vowing never to come back. So far, she hasn't. We were always pretty close since we were just a little over a year apart(she's the younger one) and we'd always go to school together. My mom started the trend of nice gestures. He father went to work fairly early so he would drop my cousins off at our house so they could go to school with us. We were practically sisters because we spent so much time together.
Now she was more popular than me, so that of course meant rumors. On several occasions I heard nasty things being said about her, and every time I would jump up and quickly silence the lies. Even people that were supposed to be her friends were calling her a whore, to which i would reply "I would know ages before you if she's ever had sex, and even if she did, you're supposed to be her friend! Friends accept each other and don't tell everyone their secrets!". It made me so mad!
As we got older and out of high school I ended up passing my college textbooks books down to her instead of getting a refund because she couldn't afford to buy them. She would also come to my house every night to play games with me and my sister and I would cook dinner for us. We often joked that it was her new home. I would help her with college work most nights, and I even drove her around to find a job. Now that I'm getting into makeup, anytime I make an order, I'll often pick up 2 of whatever it is I'm getting and give her one.
Products: Sleek sunset palette, Sleek Oh so special palette, Nyx Matte lip Cream in any color
EDIT: Also, If anyone sees a cheapish/used naked 3 for sale, I'm looking to surprise her with that. I don't think I'd ever use it, but she's in love with it. Don't have a ton of money to spend for it though or I'd buy it new.
I am also super naturally blonde (well, ashy grey blonde) and I tint mine using Godefroy's Professional Tint Kit! It's super easy - you just mix it on, leave it on your brows, and then wipe clean. You can definitely take it by stages too (it's better to start with too light of a tint than go straight to really dark). I'm a total convert.
Dont do it! You're almost there. I can see glimpses of the greatness that's about to come and damn does it look good.
Something fun you can experiment with in the meanwhile if you wanna pull attention away from your hair during this growth phase is dying your eyebrows. With a darker brow, attention will be pulled away from your hair and redirected to your eyes.
A brow dyeing kit $20 on Amazon and takes 15 kins tops. Super easy and wears off after a few weeks if you dont like it.
Ps. I love your eyebrow color as is, this suggestion is just for the interim phase.
That dress is gorgeous and so are you! You are going to have so much fun at prom! :D
Here is the little tutorial I made for you! The eyeshadow will go perfectly with that dress! I am assuming that you have the basics already (foundation, concealer, setting powder, blush, eyeliner and mascara), so you will just need to get the lip color, the eyeshadow, highlighter and the brow kit.
Sleek Oh So Special Palette $11.50 with shipping. The colors on Amazon are really deceptive! It looks nothing like that..
elf Jumbo Lipgloss Stick in Sangria Starters $1.99
Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Kit $3.99
Wet N Wild Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana $2.99
I hope this helps you out OP! All of that stuff is just over $20.
EDIT: If you plan on getting that palette or any Sleek stuff for prom, you might want to think about ordering it very soon if you're in the US. The shipping takes a couple of weeks because it is coming from the UK. I highly recommend Sleek products. They are such high quality at such a low price. You can't go wrong!
All of these commenters have great suggestions on how to prevent the shine! However, I'd like to add that a translucent powder pat on in the morning would help control the shine throughout the day and help it from being so intense. Etude House No Sebum has great reviews, and Skinfood's Peach Sake Powder is the product I currently use in the mornings, even on days where I wear no makeup, because it keeps my skin from getting super shiny and oily.
I love Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer. It's inexpensive and available at regular stores or Amazon. Wonderful applicator, super quick and easy to use.
Edit: Sorry if this shows up more than once, my reddit just went haywire lol.
I really enjoy the Sleek palettes! I get mine on amazon and I have almost all of them! But my favorite is this one It has amazing color payoff and is SO reasonably priced!
Hope you find what you're looking for!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO YOOUUUU!
I live in Florida, land of the eternal summer. Fall consists of about one week where you don't sweat the second you walk out the door. Since seasons don't exist here, I don't change my color palette as much as I would in another area that gets definitive seasons.
With that said, I do tend to go more with mattes than I do during the summer. I think this smoky light pink is something I would gravitate towards during the fall. I also go for matte lipsticks more often in the fall as well. This NARS matte lip pencil in Bahama is one that I like to use in the fall. It is a really pretty shade.
I have been eyeing this palette for ages: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005UBN3NU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=21KHPTB35LXYD&coliid=I34N4AORN4VPC3
I think it would be a good fall palette as well! But any surprise would be totally awesome.
I am going to tag /u/earworms in this, she hosts a lot of contests but I don't often see her enter, I think she should!
Thanks so much for hosting!!
I have so many! LA Girl Pro Conceal HD, Essence Shine shine shine clear gloss(I've been using the ELF clear gloss but I like this one more and you get more product for the price), Maybelline Dream BB Fresh, Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, ELF Baked Highlighter - Moonlight Pearls, and Peripera Velvet Cheek #6. These are all essentials in my "no makeup" look.
This one's not make up but on Amazon the Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF50+ / PA+++ is super cheap for a mineral sunscreen and doesn't break my skin out.
And my one and only HG status liquid eyeliner that I'll ever buy for my oily ass lids, HEROINE MAKE Smooth Liquid Eyeliner. I've seen it in Japanese specialty stores in my area for $20, on amazon it's only $10.49. All other eyeliners get crusty and flake off within a minute of application. This eyeliner has been a game changer.
Oh and the peripera ink velvet and tint water gels for lips, just wish they had more shades besides red and mauve.
It's really good, the best I've ever used😺 here is an Amazon link😸
For AB makeup, which eyeliner do you recommend, Dolly Wink Koji Liquid Eyeliner or the Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner? Or any other liquid eyeliners are fine too~ (pencil and gel just don't work for these oily eyelids T^T)
For starting a routine, do you recommend starting out with a moisturizer? Also is a second cleanser needed? Because I feel like an oil cleanser (for your sunscreen and makeup), and a toner would just be alright (consider it cleans the remaining debris off our skin and I feel like I would be wasting my money idk... sorry if I am wrong...
For oily and acne-prone skin, do you recommend the TONYMOLY The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Cream or the MIZON Black All in One Snail Repair Cream?
This is a great idea! Welcome to the glamming club :)
My name is Keri, my current (but ever-changing) favorite product is my BB cream from the Body Shop. Today is my dad's birthday! so that's an interesting fact. I dont have a favorite look right now because its getting close to summer and I am experimenting with bold color combinations!

This add-on is on my wishlist PRIORITY ITEMS. I've got a good amount of basic cosmetic items, but I need this to tame my thick brows when I wake up and they are all mussy :)
ByAllegory has compact and single eyeshadow holders and they’ve come so in handy! They’re on amazon and have their own website as well. They also have lipgloss organizers which are perfect for liquid lipsticks and lipglosses that would fall over in regular lipstick organizers.
I also recommend getting your lipstick organizers at the container store because they’re cheaper they’re only $6. They also have little single containers they’re perfect for storing things like concealers, mascaras, eyeliners - I have 3 of the small ones for concealers, mascaras, nail polish (i have only 4 nail polishes) and then 1 larger one for lip liners cause they tend to be longer in length.
I do set mine! Highest is usually means I would give an arm of a leg for it and high is something I really want, but not willing to give up a body part.
My top five:
A girl can only dream...
I'd keep you in my basement.
Ohh, senior year, fun, fun!!!
Awkward moment from school: It was my senior year, and I was one of the AV geeks. I helped run the television crew. I was also one of the main camera operators for sports. We were taping playoffs for football and one of my classmates is coming down the sideline for a touchdown, I was panning with him and I stepped off of the 7ft platform I was standing on. I fell on the track and blacked out. I woke up the first time to the rival team standing over me checking if I was okay, faded out again, then woke back up being carried off the field on a stretcher with a neck brace. Had a concussion, and needed to be monitored over night.
Got back to school on Monday and a crazy rumor spread that someone got super drunk, jumped off of the bleachers and died... no, I was working and fell off a platform and got a concussion.
Thanks for the contest!! Good luck tomorrow!
$4.85 last one in the list.
I bought this $6 dupe off amazon because I rarely wear eyeshadow and my friend (who is super into makeup) was really impressed with it and said it’s pretty comparable to N2.
OMG THIS IS MY CAT.

SHE IS AN ASSHOLE AND I WISH SHE WOULD LOVE ME BACK SOMETIMES.
I'm in Canada and amazon SUCKS it's like 3x the price or the product isn't even available :(
I've been really wanting a nude eyeliner for my waterline so maybe THIS
OR this awesome NYX brow shaper that I keep hearing about!!

What makes me beautiful!
Just added this to my wishlist yesterday, its such a pretty colour!
But this is my cheapest make up related item :)
Thanks for the contest!
Im going to add more as I find them. On mobile.
set of 12 eyeliners for $7
An absolutely fantastic mascara for less than $6
NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk is a makeup essential, it's only $6.50
NYX eye pencil in Black, under$5
a concealer for only $4
and a NYX concealer in a jar $5
I love makeup. You are an absolutely fantastic brother/sister!
If this is the case, then I can recommend you the product I use right now. Lioele Auto Eyebrow Pencil in #3 Gray Black is a really great brow product to go with black brows and hair. I got this after seeing it recommended by one of my favorite YouTubers, Jen Chae (frmheadtotoe). She also has a lot of tutorials for monolids, if you're interested in that!
i did! like pretty much everything else i bought storage-wise, they're a little spendier than i wanted, but they're a very nice, heavy acrylic and the height is perfect! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IM0FSCA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_Rju9wbBBT0CQX
Mid-range: theBalm's Meet Matt(e) eye shadow palette
Low-end: Smith's Rosebud Salve

Hi!
I’ve been using this for YEARS! I absolutely love it. I have super light blonde eyebrows and this is the perfect shade for me. I only have to leave on for a few minutes.
Godefroy Professional Tint Kit, Medium Brown, 20 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AS45LC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1YB3DbVQXSCMS
Dude, using like four different eyebrow products has been a GAME CHANGER and LIFE SAVER for me. :) First I extend the length of my brow tails using this after brushing my brows with the spoolie. Then I fill in and shape the rest of my brows using this. Then I'll fill in any bare spots with this stuff. Finally my last step is securing those beasts with this!!!! I hope this helps. :)
Like this ? It looks nice, so far we never really have to repair other stuff than the computers haha, but i guess it's always good to have a couple of tools available. thanks for the suggestion.
Oh this is fun! I have a huge sweet tooth, and this is what I found! Happy cake day!
Start off a little healthier: NYX Round Case Lipstick in Fig
and then move on to something a little sweeter! This is Maybelline's Dream Bouncy Blush in Pink Frosting
and finally, this Etude House all over color product in Raspberry Mousse Cake
Wow, congratulations! That must have taken a lot of hard work and finesse. I know you don't know me, but I"m proud of you :D
If the raffle were to pick me ( BIG MONEY! , by the way) I would want either/both of these things:

Their other sets and products are great too if this isn't in your price range.
Happy birthday! Whoo, August babies. :)
I'm going to tag /u/map_backwards, since I haven't talked to her lately!
I'm looking forward to burgundy lips ( TooFaced Divine Wine and NYX Licorice, which was already linked) and more purple blush ( Darling Girl Berry Merry )
In the spirit of fall, I've had my eye on this palette
This Wet n Willd eyebrow palette has really good reviews, I use a pencil from wet n wild right now and I LOVE it! (and it was only 98 cents)
As far as wax's go I have been wanting to try the NYX wax shaper pencil, I've heard good things about it. I use Maybelline's clear mascara right now, but I want to try a wax since the clear mascara has an applicator it gets cloudy with color.
Ask me about my wiener. ;)
I see you like makeup. Someone gifted me this and the quality is surprisingly amazing considering the price.
My question is...how big do you like your wieners?
Thanks so much for doing this! I've been hoping to get a new eyebrow pencil recently haha :)
I failed to keep the mascaras I went through this year... my bad... But I always use Maybelline Lash Stiletto.
What have I learned? I should really tone down my purchases of products like eyeshadow palettes and blush palettes. It takes FOREVER to get through one. And yet I have so maaany.

This is my fav item. A little over $5, but free shipping.
Or these.
Thanks for hosting, lady! :)
I've been craving dat matte lip cream. I've never tried it before because there's nowhere that sells NYX in my area. :'(
And I can't find the actual recipe I used but it was similar to this and I also put raisins in it. Sooo good and gluten free if you're into that.
I can never get a great, thin line with a pencil, so I use a little pot of liquid eyeliner, and a really thin brush. You could probably get similar results with a different brand; the main reason I picked MUFE was ease of purchase (I have a store in my nearest mall, with a significantly shorter line than the one at Sephora) and success with their other products.
Before those purchases, I had a felt tip eyeliner that I liked (I think it was this one?!). As long as I used a light hand, I had no issues making a really thin line.
Coastal scents original 88; love the oranges, pinks, and greens! Great fora tequila sunrise look or a ruby-throated hummingbird. Amazon Link
The colors online don't look exactly right, but I was very pleased with the intensity and durability.
it's my party!
I'm one day older then you :) happy birthday
this eyeshadow pallet
this lipstick
and this eye brow powder
are all under $26
This one gets constant praise here on reddit. Personally I have a set I got at a Harbor Freight I've had for years. Any "precision" toolkit will work just fine. A magnetic version will be your friend.
edit: something like this
My notes on this item say that I need it to tame my Sasquatch eyebrows. Honestly, my Eastern European ancestry makes me have gorilla-like facial hair. Not so cool for a lady of refinement.
If I win, feel free to choose any item. (Guerilla gorillas. To-may-to To-mah-to.)
I just picked up the iFixit Pro Toolkit as well as a cheap set of screw drivers. I also use a magnet tray for holding screws (especially useful for laptops) and I lay my screw drivers in there while I'm working to magnetize the tips.
One of my cheapest (free) things I've added to my workbench recently is an old 17" Dell Ultrasharp that was given to me. It's absolutely wonderful for a tech bench. It has VGA and DVI input. It's height adjustable, and swivels. It has 4 USB ports built into it. I leave my keyboard and mouse plugged into it, as well as signal and power cables. When a machine hits my bench, I plug in one signal cable, one power cable, and one USB cable and I'm ready to go.
Welcome! If you like it here, of course you should be here! Don't be afraid to post a picture if that's what you'd like to do, mostly everyone is very nice and any criticism is usually very constructive!
What size organizer are you looking for? Do you want one organizer to house everything, or are you looking for different pieces?
I have this for everyday products: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/richards-homewares-clear-19-compartment-cosmetic-organizer-with-drawers/1041660133?Keyword=cosmetic+organizer

I think Sephora is great, but drugstore brands also have a lot to offer! Check out Ulta.com for drugstore brands and more mid-range brands that Sephora doesn't carry (Lorac being a major one!)
Damn what color did you dye them.. could just fill it in with something like http://www.amazon.com/NYX-Eyebrow-Cake-Powder-Auburn/dp/B002QIADPG
It's a really good natural color, can mix the two to get the right shade. I actually got one at home laying around unopened because I dyed my hair back to my natural shade, can maybe ship it to you if you're interested?
I have dark red hair and I love the NYX Auburn brow powder. It comes w 2 complimentary powder colours and brow wax. And it's like 6 bucks!

My beauty related: Colored Eyeliners! because my eyes are what makes me beautiful!
I was eyeing some Muji drawers, but I opted for 2 of these instead. I like to store my foundations standing up and the open top part of this lets me do that. I have one for lip products and one for foundation/concealer/highlighter/bronzer.
I'll also second the byAlegory lip gloss organizer. I like to store lip gloss upright, too, and they kept flopping over in regular lipstick organizers.
The clothing is basically late 80s/early 90s normcore. But the "bombshell look" is obviously all about being movie star beautiful.
A note on the makeup - this is still my all time favorite makeup "look." It requires strong brows (I'm a big fan of brow tint and Glossier boy brow), brick red lipstick, nude eyeshadow, no obvious contouring or blush, mascara, eyeliner (usually quite light), no highlighter. Notice the skin is matte, not shiny.
Does she have enough eyebrow hair to use a powder, or is Tally a pencil-only lady? If she can use powder (maybe powder and something to set it? Two Faced Liquif-eye maybe?) NYX is the best auburn brow colour I've ever found! It sounds like her and I have the same hair colour - something between strawberry and auburn - and I swear by this set. I've tried almost everything and I keep coming back.
The darker colour is great for "fake" reds, and the taupe-y brown-y reddish one is almost impossible to find in my redhead world. My natural brows aren't quite red and they're not quite brown... but they're slightly darker and more brown than my hair. This has been my dream colour! Plus, NYX is really cheap.
Check out the colours on!
Edit: I messed up the links.
Im a NYX lipstick addict, and need this to complete my collection.
Congrats on your $10 winner!!
Here's the link! I'm really digging these, even though I have never heard of or used the brand. Great glam =)
I'd love to try In The Light
Thanks for hosting!
like butter. This would be cool. Thanks!
happy birthday!!
This please!
Lioele auto eyebrow pencil in gray #3! You can get one from Amazon if you don't have any Asian beauty stores in your area. Perfect for black hair. The pencil is angled so it's super easy to apply, and it lasts. I've filled in my brows before fencing tournaments and still had them look the same after 4 hours of ridiculous sweating. My only quibble is that the packaging is kind of brittle and you'll probably lose the spoolie cap before you use up the pencil, but I wholeheartedly recommend it anyway.
Peach Sake finishing powder because who doesn't want a little sweet sake to go with dessert? ;)
Thanks for the sweet contest!!
The Coastal Scents Fall Palette is a nice cheap warm palette :) As for building your own I second both Inglot and pressing indies.
Etude House has a line of eyebrow tint gels that I've tried and can work really well. They're basically dyes in the form of a gel that you apply then peel off, but it lasts for a few days.
For longer options I'd look at brow tint/dye kits, I've seen a lot on Amazon. I've heard the Godefroy Color Tint Kit is good.
Thanks for hosting! :)
I'd have to pick this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002QIADPG/ref=aw_ls_2_9?colid=31SAURWJYHQZE&coliid=I282851V347Q7B&vs=1
I've never even tried filling in my eyebrows, but I'd like to start :P
My favorite purple eye shadows lately has been the coastal scents go palette in beijing.
http://www.amazon.com/Coastal-Scents-Makeup-Palette-Beijing/dp/B005UBN3NU
So many pretty purples <3
I think an eyeshadow palette with nude and light shimmery shades would always be nice. Maybe something similar to this? She can use it for light everyday looks, evening looks, maybe even for eyebrows if there's the right shade. Bonus if there's a brush, if she doesn't have any.
https://www.amazon.in/Girl-Beauty-Brick-Eyeshadow-Nudes/dp/B00PGQYEUK
I guess this is a stretch, but I'll make it work:
I am like this palette, indecisive, perfectionistic, and crazy. :)
perhaps something like this? I think powder looks far more natural than pencil. You could also see if you have a medium taupe color and try that on for size. Warning: it might be weird to have brows when you aren't used to having them ;). Also, you might look around your area and see if there are any day spas that offer brow dyeing. My mom has super blonde brows, and she gets hers dyed for about $20 every 6 weeks.
I would really love these for my makeup collection!
What makes me beautiful!
Eyeliner! I'm lacking in color options. Currently I can wear brown, or GEL brown.
Hey there! I want this or this
You should DEFINITELY bake this Guinness Chocolate Cake. My SO's mom made it and he said it was incredible.
My mom does not wear a lot of makeup, but I was planning on getting her this palette for her birthday, although her skin is not exactly olive but tan. Hope this helps!
NYX has a clear brow wax pencil that I like.
NYX Eye Brow Shaper Wax https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0048KSGZO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_YF2QDbVC8GFTZ
it's so hard to choose one thing, but i really like this lipstick!

It's on amazon and seems to have good reviews! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005I64ZDY/ref=redir_mdp_mobile
I have three of those racks for my collection. They do NOT work well for long lipsticks, especially round ones.
I find that my lip glosses and rollerball perfumes are best stored in these extra tall acrylic organizers.
Nyx has it in a pencil!
I'm not sure if wax is better or worse than gel. I have used gel and hairspray myself, and between those two I prefer the hairspray (gel just gets too gunky too fast and definitely doesn't look natural - I used normal hair gel though and not brow-specific gel, so YMMV). I generally spray a tiny bit of hairspray on my finger and then smooth it over my eyebrow - it holds well and doesn't look or feel bad, but I think wax might be better so I'm going to try the wax pencil.
You should get this and splurge on yourself a bit! Thanks for the contest and Go ben!
OP, buy this toolkit. It's a newer version of what I have.
I use this driver set for fucking everything, from airsoft to computers. It is one of the handiest things I own, and the quality of it is pretty good. The one I have is a couple years old now, but I haven't had a single issue with it
I know they are taller, not sure about slimmer. Here is one on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Acrylic-Gloss-Organizer-Beauty-Care/dp/B00IM0FSCA and in the review section some people posted their own photos which should give you an idea :)
Thanks for hosting this! I would loooooove this palette. Someone posted swatches a couple weeks ago and now it's on my list.
Alegory makes some really good acrylic storages.
For long tube lipsticks: x
For bullet lipsticks: x
I have dark hair but the same problem you do with it thinning out to nothing past the "nub" section. I use this Lioele Eyebrow pencil every morning. I prefer this one over others because it builds very well which allows you to choose how dark you eyebrows will be. The different eyebrow kits can do the same thing but I have found that eyebrow pencils are much more convenient.
Like others have suggested, I would also check /r/MakeupAddiction for more advice though. That is where I found all of the eyebrow products I tried before I ultimately decided to use my Lioele pencil.
I'm naturally strawberry blonde with unfortunately pale/nearly invisible eyebrows and this is what I use.
I use the lighter color, but I imagine the darker color would be good for more coppery/auburn redheads.
Will it be less than $27 on Hautelook? It's only $35 on Amazon right now (with free shipping) and shipping is $8 on Hautlook :/
Also... what's the difference between the one you swatched, and this one? http://www.amazon.com/theBalm-Meet-Matte-Eyeshadow-Palette/dp/B005I64ZDY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367510377&sr=8-1&keywords=meet+matt
Not sure if this is prime eligible, but I always worry about makeup getting damaged in the mail. I'd feel a lot more confident with the free 2-day shipping.
I sure do! I actually have the entire iFixit kit, which I enjoy, but the first link is just the bits and driver.
do you mean this one listed on amazon? spotted it earlier when looking at the discounted nude palette. i really want the nude one, but i cannot justify buying anymore makeup right now. but i really, really want it...
Sleek i-Divine Oh So Special Palette Mineral based Eye Shadow Palette
http://amzn.com/B0086ULJF6
Nothing so severe as that, thing something more like this
Would something like this work? It's not tiered, but it is tall and made for lip glosses.
They are a brand called Italia. The set is less than $8.00, and so worth it!
I found them on Amazon here
If you want to do electronics repair in general, I'd recommend iFixit's kit, which includes tools useful for repairing, say, a broken tablet/phone screen, and various non-standard bits.
http://www.amazon.com/iFixit-145072-Pro-Tech-Toolkit/dp/B007XGWQ2Y/ref=sr_1_2?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1452147004&sr=1-2&keywords=ifixit
For PC repair in general, try to get something intended to be used on servers or in production environments. You want something that will last, and not be prone to having its tip chip or break off.
I have only a little experience with soldering, and use a Radio shack iron. Unfortunately, I can't provide any suggestions.
