You should just get a new d3400 kit but if you decide to go with a used one to save $75 go with Amazon. Used Amazon stuff can be returned withing 30 days and there is more second hand camera stuff on Amazon. Just don't go with sellers that have a really low price and only a few or no ratings. Go with the sellers with hundreds or thousands of ratings. The "just launched" with no ratings or only a few ratings are not worth your money or time. Right now the d3400 with a 18-55 kits lens is $380 refurbished or you could get a new kit for $450 which is still a great deal and buying it new gives you a warranty as second hand gear isn't covered and ANY international grey market gear will not be repaired so make sure you get a US model from a store like Best Buy or Amazon. You can return to both within 30 days so that's cool if you don't like it. The d3400 kit a basic set up with great image quality and built to last. You should get at least 5-10 years out out the camera if you stick with it. My nikon bodies have lasted me about 5 years until I sell them after I get a new one. Never had a major failure in any nikon dSLR body and the only nikon lens I ever had that broke was only because it broke my extremely hard fall and even after I squished it I still got half sharp photos. The d3400 is rated better than both my current camera bodies in terms of image quality and is half the price of my cheapest one and is an amazing first camera. Just get an extra battery that is Nikon brand. Don't let some sales person try to sell you an off brand battery or some crappy SD card. Get an approved/recommended SD card that works with the camera model. It should be easy to google that for whatever camera model you end up picking. Also get a 52mm UV filter for the lens so it doesn't get messed up.

Four things and your good to go:

A Nikon d3400 with a 18-55mm kit lens - $350 used $450 new

52mm UV filter - idk $20-30

An extra battery - $30

SD card - get a good one on amazon like this: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-UHS-I-Memory-SDSDXPA-032G-AFFP/dp/B007NDL56U?th=1

$500 total and it should last you 5-10 years unless you fall in a lake or something.
PS - mini tripod is good for low light and long exposure shots later.
Have Fun. You get to play with and capture light.

All together that comes to $75 and will play games from the Atari, NES, SNES, Master System, Genesis, Gameboy etc. If you buy that SD card then I have an 8Gb image file already put together for it with over 4000 games that I could put up for you to download, you then just write it to the SD card, pop it in the Pi and plug it in, it will auto boot to a nice menu controlled by the control pad, select your game and play, then just press "Start + Select" to go back to the menu to select another game/system. It's very easy to use as all the hard work of aquiring the games and artwork has already been done.

You can get the more powerful Pi 2 or 3 and a bigger MicroSD to have more roms but that pushes the price up and will need more work to setup.

I have aspergers and my wife is type one so I understand some of the difficulties your son faces, I hope you can use this to help make him happy. My sister has an autistic son also and I put together one of these and he loves it, she got him to write a one sentence review and score out of 10 for each game. It became something they could do together and talk about, and also helped to convince him to do things liek help with cleaning his room etc so that he could do "one more review before bed" as she thinks it important to always push him that little bit to give him the best chances later on in life.

Anyway, here is a video showing the system in use so you can see what you think:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDWebx6D2Zc

Also with the addition of another SD card, usb keyboard and mouse and it also works as a computer with web browsing and programming tools for kids (Scratch).

Hope this helps, let us know if you want the 8Gb SD card image uploaded for you to download (not to be re-distributed though)

Regards

So for your working purposes, the best equipment may already be sitting in your house (if not cheap alternatives to them). Let me explain…

A) The best, cheapest hard drive you could have with ample size?

____a. If you have a 256GB or 512GB SSD sitting in one of your unused computer (I don’t think everyone has access to this, as not everyone works in an IT-based industry), then a simple USB 3.0 -> SATA converter cable, priced at a mere… $10.99 might save you a few extra dollars. This is IF you decided to go this route. Traditional external SSDs, nominally 2.5-inch or smaller, are very fast, with speeds of 6Gb/s or faster, so this could be an option. (This also has yet to be outlawed by the Wii modding community [or as far as I know--they're just as reliable, if not moreso than traditional SSD portables.])

____b. Otherwise, a simple $59.99 SSD – 250GB Portable may be sufficient and cost efficient for ya!

B) The emulators the Wii can handle are as follows:

____a. Nintendo systems leading up to Nintendo 64: Wii64

____b. Nintendo portable systems leading up to Nintendo DS: DeSmuMe Wii

____c. Sega systems up to Sega Saturn: Yabause Wii

____d. Sony systems—Sony PS1: WiiSX

____e. Atari Systems leading up to the Atari 7800: Wii7800

____f. …and a variously-mixed set of arcade/personal retro-gaming computers from the 70s – late 80s. Check the list here.

C) As for Nintendo Gamecube cards, there is this one, which is 512MB! And it only costs $13.99!

D) Personally, seeing that read-write speeds degrade over time, I would recommend (if you’re not using your external drive, partitioned like I mentioned in THIS post, like mine), then getting a decently fast SDHC card, may help: See this 128GB cheaper-end SanDisk, that is MORE than capable of holding plenty of games/apps for your Wii.

E) Also, if you have any troubles, I wouldn’t mind helping you out while getting any/all of this setup! You can just message me if you have any snags or anything, and I’d be more than glad to help!

…and trust me, I know the feeling. I don’t really mod my Wii much, except for when my USB Loader GX tends to act funny, and then I’m scrambling the internet looking for an update to inject into my FAT32 partition! Bahahah! #AncientWiiProblems

There's two main adapters worth your while you may or may not be aware of. First the Metabones Speed Booster from Canon to MFT which has full electronic control and reduces the focal length to make it equivalent of having the lens on a APS-C body (roughly). The same happens with aperture making efectively 1 stop brighter and even sharper.

This is an expensive adapter so there's the cheap solution with the Mitakon Zhongyi Lens Turbo II that, unlike the Metabones, does not have electronics but does quite a nice job for around 1/3 of the price. The Nikon version does have an aperture control ring, not sure about the others. You can use a cheap adapter ring to get the Pentax to fit any of these I believe.

As for a tripod I'd look into the AmazonBasics workhorse (I know, I know) that you may be skeptical about, and yes, it's not perfect but for the price it's an amazing piece of gear.

SD Card-wise I have a couple of these and they've been working wonders.

I've seen general praise over SmallRig cage so you may want to look into that. You can get just the basic cage or you can add a handle a ton of other stuff.

I don't think you'd need an external recorder right now and even if you got it, the signal that the G7 outputs it's kind of weak. 8 Bit 4:2:0 as far as I remember (maybe 4:2:2 but the real difference would be 10 Bit). The general rule of thumb is always shoot 4K and use it on 1080 timelines. That makes for a super detailed 1080 image that has room for reframing.

You can get some bang for the buck LED Lights in the Yongnuo Yn 300 III with even cheaper prices if you get a slightly older model. They are not spectacular but I think you can't go wrong for the price and they output quite an amount of light. Here is a review just so you can see them in action. This guy uses a G7 with a Lumix 25mm 1.7 I believe so that may give a more real life scenario.

That's all I can think right now, I hope you find some if this stuff useful and congrats on your purchase, it's an awesome little camera, I think it will work wonders for your kind of projects.

Yeah, we could do that all day. There are 1000's of examples of an item being cheaper when not ordering through Amazon directly. Like I said I looked up 8 items and 87.5% were cheaper when going with the Prime shipping offer. I could do another 8 and only 12.5% would be cheaper. It all depends but from my experience a good majority are cheaper with Amazon prime.

I ordered 100's of items last year and I bet 90% were shipped with Prime. I also don't mind paying $.50 once in awhile to have the benefit of 2 day shipping and Amazon's amazing customer service when buying directly from them. I guarantee I've had a free year of prime given to me for an item being late or something happening during shipping in the 5 years I've had it. They constantly hand out a free month or add a promotional balance on your account.

This is what I ordered today Samsung Pro 32gb Micro SDHC It's quite a bit cheaper with Prime.

>I am concerned that I may get in trouble for buying/using this without a prescription. Am I being paranoid?

This is absolutely not a concern. No one is going to hunt you down for buying a used CPAP machine.

>is it safe to retrieve the data on the resmed website after registering my device? Or since I don't have a prescription, should I just get an SD card and transfer the data to my computer?

Yes, it's fine to register. It's even better to start using Sleepyhead as this will give far greater detail. As you're treating yourself, Sleepyhead is even more important. If you want the ultimate in convenience, try using Sleepyhead with a wifi card.

Use this card:

And this software:

>what is a good first mask choice that most people are happy with?

This is entirely dependent on your own personal fit. Getting the right mask is critical. For full face, I like the ResMed F20. For nasal pillows, I like the Philips Dreamwear. Look for "mask insurance" that will let you return the mask for any reason, without cost. Also, many masks will have a sizing guide (example) or a "fit pack" with various sized cushions/pillows (example).

>Recommended settings to start?

4-20 to start. Read up and get Sleepyhead going. If you're going to treat this on your own, without a doctor, then you should expect to invest a lot of time into learning about sleep apnea.

ninjaedit:

Also, sleep apnea often has other "comorbid" conditions like hypertension and diabetes, so it's a good idea to get checked out by a primary care doc if nothing else.

This should also be good enough for cameras/hd video. A reviewer posted crystaldisk results:

Sony 32 GB SDHS USH-I

Sequential Read : 19.998 MB/s

Sequential Write : 14.115 MB/s

Random Read 512KB : 19.772 MB/s

Random Write 512KB : 13.173 MB/s

Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 3.682 MB/s [ 899.0 IOPS]

Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 2.302 MB/s [ 561.9 IOPS]

Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 4.517 MB/s [ 1102.8 IOPS]

Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 2.323 MB/s [ 567.0 IOPS]

That's pretty good. On the other hand if you want one for a camera that's capable of high burst rates and/or good HD video try this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MBFPT44

WireCutter has this as their best SD card, currently. It clocks at 60MB/s write and 90MB/s read. It's also nearly 3x as expensive for a 32gb at $27.

tl;dr - Sony is great bang for buck for regular use and probably OK for camera/video. The SanDisk is probably the best deal taking performance/price/capacity into account.

I would get additional batteries, they run out quick. It's a great little camera, if you're going on a safari I might look at some wide lens to get those great wide shots that really show the expanse of where you are. The Rokinon 12mm &14mm are pretty great for the money(fully manual so id get them before the trip to practice, also it seems focus to infinity is usually just backed off the stop or where it shows focus to infinity on the lens). Also you're probably going to want a telephoto lens, the 55-210 works well but I've found myself wanting more at times. I have yet to make the plunge but it might be worth looking at a lens that reaches out close to 300mm.

On a different note I'd get a higher class SD, not just the basic cheap ones from wallyworld, if you use burst with the cheap cards the camera takes a while to write them to the card.
With a Walmart variety SD card if I did a big burst it would take 30-60ish seconds to process it and before I could change settings or anything. With this card https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013CP3JDO/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_f5wmybZ8FMVA6 it takes 10-20 seconds tops. It may not sound like much but believe me it makes a world of a difference when you're trying to get action shots or that lion chasing a gazelle and it's only a split second of a moment you need to catch. Seeing as your going to be in some bright locations I would look at a polarizer filter as well and a cleaning kit. Dust gets everywhere and you're gonna need to clean it in the field and as goofy and simple as it is, a hat. The screen is nice but in direct light you're going to have a harder time seeing it and a hat will cast enough shadow so you don't have to take your hands off the camera to cover and review the shot. I know you asked about lens but these are all the trial and errors I've run across with my a6000 I thought I'd share.

As long as you can break the day's recording workflow into 3-6 points where footage from the camera can be obtained by a laptop/desktop for video compression & uploading then you can satisfy the upload-speed/stability issue you highlighted from the beggining of your inquiry.

While you COULD be compressing the footage via laptop following the cameras around & aided perhaps by a wifi-sd card (but I haven't any experience with those who test them rigorously beforehand)... you'll be much better off with a stationary production table that features a dedicated desktop computer to handle the compression & uploading, while maybe the traveling laptop is purely to obtain the clips wirelessly or during the breaks you can wire in to copy directly (faster), thereby buffering-desktop compression so it can be completed continuously and not waste the time 1) waiting for clips to compress and 2) uploading everything at once instead of continuously while the event is still happening & clips are compressing (uploading shouldn't impact CPU during file compressing and so you can do both simultaneously)

To conclude, my workflow was assuming ~6-8hrs of footage (x2 for the two cameras), but if the actual recorded duration is a max of 3-4hrs then thats a much lower workload for the editor to address in a same-day manner. Trimming just 3 hours of minute long clips should be manageable by 1 editor in the same day expectation if you provide the footage throughout 3-6 segmentations uploaded throughout the day.

If it's closer to 4-7 hours of total duration needing trimming, and you only provide say half of it mid-day and the rest upon event completion I'd say it'd be hard (EDIT: impossible) for the editor to turnaround everything for the next day rendering for an official YouTube or similar publication UNLESS their timezone and work hours align so as to begin when your first amount of event clips have been uploaded for trimming AND theyre fine with long hours after getting comfortable with the simple process expected of them in context of the pay. IE: you can find cheaper editors for this task as compared to someone who actually needs to comprehend & interpret footage for where to make rough cuts.

The final render (full quality from the sources) would still take 0.5-2x real-time depending on your settings & computer hardware; so assuming the editor trims everything to your sanctification and you received that working project file early in the morning the next day (ie before the next event starts) then you still must assume it'll take at least the amount of time of the video to be rendered for the actual video render in HD + maybe double that for the uploading of the final render to YouTube on your low quality internet; averaging the middle scenario of these factors, a 2-3hr final render for you to complete locally and upload for worldwide viewing will take ~4hrs, or closer to 2hrs if you have great hardware and great internet (YouTube's or similar platforms processing time will be 3-6x real-time, so 2hrs will likely be available within 15-30 minutes depending on their load)

I searched and searched for card type issues and am honestly at a loss.

I'm using a sky3ds+ (With newest firmware) with a 64 gb microsd and formatted it to Fat32) and am on the New 3DS XL 11.0.0.33 also. I do not have these problems at all.

I honestly am suspicious of the formatter program you might have used and the download quality of your roms, but if none of the programs give you good results and all the roms end up with this problem then you have 3 possible issues.

  • Your Micro SD card is one of the brands/versions that just do not work well with sky3ds+

  • You have a defective sky3ds+

  • A combination of both.

I your cheapest check would be to get a new micro sd card to try out. I suggest you get a class 10 card from a reputable brand. Searching myself I found a nice Samsung 32 gb Class 10 card for about $7 in the Amazon Warehouse Deals.

If you get this card, or any other new card to try and you are still seeing this issue then I would reach out to your sky3ds+ re-seller and ask for a new one/see what they can do for you. If they can't do anything for you then you may have to keep messing with the settings on the sky3ds+. I mean, you got one game to load and save so there is still some hope.

>I have lot's of issues with Retropie. The HDMI sound lags and goes out of sync

That's interesting. I have not personally experienced this, so I don't know if I am qualified to comment, but I will do my best to offer help or suggestions for troubleshooting.

Are there other processes running on the pi?

I have noticed that if I have an SSH connection into the pi and/or I am transferring ROMs to the pi via network share, that gameplay is absolutely terrible. This usually resolves when the copy is complete or the SSH session is closed, but sometimes I find I have to reboot the pi to restore reliable emulation.

As for sound issues from the HDMI, the only issue I have noticed is that the audio in the Gameboy Advance emulator (GpSP) seems to be distorted or over driven on most of the games. My fix was to turn the master volume in Emulation Station down to 80-85% and just turn up the volume on the TV.

My Retropie installation was done using the methods described on the Retropie site. I have no special configs or tweaks, and I have not done anything extra to the raspberry pi.

Could it be your SD card? Perhaps the I/O on the card is not fast enough and is creating a bottleneck which is choking the emulation. I have a Sandisk Class 10 SDHC card * ^Edit ^(wrong link)* Class 10 SD card which I got from Amazon.

I remember reading somewhere (source?... sorry) that the pie can be touchy with certain SD cards, and that SD cards slower than Class 10 can be a major performance hit.

u/ART-DUDE · 3 pointsr/MotoX4

That's pretty good. Really.

Is this with the stock camera app?

When I bought my X4 I had reservations about the camera after reading too many posts in here. Once I got the X4 I installed the GCAM and about 8-10 more cameras (I channeled the nerd in me). I did some tests and.... the stock camera is good enough for casual social media posts, more then good enough.

Now, for professional photography? Not really.

But here the thing (comparison), of someone really wanted something more "professional"

Price of Pixel 3 5.5" 64GB: $799

Price of X4 ($149) + price of "Canon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR Camera Bundle with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens + 2pc SanDisk 32GB Memory Cards + Accessory Kit" ($439) = $588

I bet the Canon takes better pics/video than the Pixel

Add a WiFi sd card for $38.99.

u/-WB-Spitfire · 3 pointsr/3DS

Just copy and paste everything from the original SD card to the new one. I recommend getting this http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Class-Adapter-MB-MP32DA-AM/dp/B00IVPU786

Now, if you're wondering/thinking "Wait, that's a microSD! The 3DS takes normal SD!" Well, yes. However it comes with an adapter so it can be used just like a normal SD card. Plus, it's also future-proofing for any other devices you may ever use it with, as well as if you ever choose to get a "New" 3DS, as that uses microSD.

If you would rather not bother with a microSD/Adapter, you can get this instead. http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Speed-Flash-Memory-TS32GSDU1E/dp/B00FB4657C/

They work perfectly for a 3d printer. They were produced for cameras, so you can withdraw photos as you take them. Basically they are a usb wifi nub combined with an sd card, short range wifi, but perfect for a 3d printer.
These ones seem reasonably well reviewed, but there are cheaper options on ebay for around $15 if you are willing to be experimental. https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-FlashAir-W-04-Class-Memory/dp/B0799LYT46/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=wifi+sd+card&qid=1569519458&sr=8-3

So Mbp/s to MB/S is 8 to 1, meaning that 150 mbps footage needs a sustained write speed of 18.75 MB/S. 400 Mbp/s needs a sustained write speed of 50 MB/S.

The cheapest cards I have found and used constantly for recording on the GH5 are:

150 Mbp/s

Samsung Evo select 128gb card

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XWZWYVP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

400 Mbp/s

Sony 128GB UHS-II

The 400 Mbp/s footage can tax normal computers though and isn't the best fit for a compact file or a quick turn around on a lower powered computer. 150 Mbp/s is a pretty high bitrate for 24 and 30 fps footage for social media or youtube uses where the bitrate being displayed is only 10-56 Mbp/s.

As for vlog footage it's use is for color grading, if you don't know your way around color grading and don't want to spend the time futzing with it every time you go to edit then I wouldn't bother buying it. HLG profile is one that gives a nice wide dynamic range with brilliant colors and requires essentially no tweaking in the edit so it's a nice alternative if you aren't interested in grading a whole lot. Cinelike D and V as well as REC709 are all semi-professional choices that don't require as much touch up as vlog footage to make it look decent. If color grading or multi cam matching is your aim then vlog footage can be a better place to start.

If you are shooting commercial, short or long film, or television work you might find that 150 Mbp/s is limiting and even 400 isn't enough for you, which is where shooting on an Atomos comes in. Outputting over HDMI to one of those you can capture in ProRes at bitrates up to 5-600 MB/S depending on the speed of the drive, resolution, frame rate and settings you select. While higher bitrate is in fact higher quality footage you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between ultra high and quite low when it's uploaded to IG or YT, not to mention that shooting at lower qualities saves a lot of space and can be easier for a more run of the mill computer to handle...

  • Who doesn't already have a controller lying around in the first place?

  • USB is pretty good with compatibility, be it on the Pi or on any other computer, hence Universal Serial Bus.

  • You don't need Bluetooth- I get along just fine without one.

  • Wifi is not required, as the model B has an ethernet controller built in.

  • A case is nice. You said it yourself. Nice does not mean mandatory.

Funnily, you ignore the mandatory costs the Pi does have:

  • It doesn't ship with an SD card of any kind

  • It doesn't ship with a power cord

  • It doesn't ship with a video cable, either RCA or HDMI

  • You'll need a powered USB hub to use more than two USB devices

That said, let's see what it costs to get everything you say is missing, plus the mandatory items:

  • For the controller, let's go with a PS3 controller, available used for under 25 dollars

  • Any one of hundreds of different Bluetooth adapters can be had for under 5 dollars

  • Wifi adapter with b/g/n- 8 dollars

  • Case: you can use anything from a cigarette pack to an empty deck of cards, but let's get something professional. The PiBow costs 15 dollars.

  • SD card: 8GB, class 10, 10 dollars

  • MicroUSB cable to plug in the power: 65 cents on Monoprice, ~2.50 after shipipng

  • HDMI cable: ~2 dollars on monoprice, doesn't increase shipping cost from previous cable

  • USB hub with power (also serves as power adapter with above cable): 7 dollars

So, that's a grand total of around 75 dollars, assuming you have absolutely nothing already except a television. Add in the Pi model A, and that's 25 dollars, bringing us up to 100 dollars. Anything- anything at all- already owned from the list brings the price down immediately:

  • Got a PS3 controller already?

  • Don't have a PS3, but you've got any other USB controller?

  • Got your router near your television and an ethernet cable to spare, or just a spare wifi adapter?

  • Can you live without the Pi being naked?

  • Have a spare SD card?

  • Own a few spare MicroUSB cables, maybe from a previous phone?

  • Spare HDMI cable in your entertainment center?

  • Have an extra/old USB hub you can repurpose? Only need to plug in 2 or less devices?

The max size would be 128gb. I would recommend getting something that is rated CL10.

Okay, would you say [the 32GB one] (http://www.amazon.ca/SanDisk-Ultra-Memory-SDSDU-016G-U46-Change/dp/B007BJHETS) is a good deal? It's class 10 too. I get free shipping. And the total comes to $33.55. Also, do you know if it's compatitble with the 3DS?

There are multiple reviews on (German) Amazon stating that the EOS 600D and this card work perfectly together.

But I would probably pay 9$ more and get the faster one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AFTV3FC/

Yes it will work continuously for 4K 150mbit but you'll only get about :20s of 400mbit, if you're doing mostly 150mbit but want to use 400mbit for short b-roll clips you'll be good. I used this Sony card for 400mbit and it worked fine continuously. Not a "V" card but works just the same

u/qrpyna · 2 pointsr/AskPhotography

How about this? Canon Rebel T5 for $184 and 24mm f/2.8 for $110. $294 + tax. This is from my local camera store, but I'm sure you can find similar prices where you are.

I used to own this combination and it really helped improve my photography. I also use two Sandisk Extreme 16GB SD cards.

u/BrownKiidd · 2 pointsr/3DS

I suggest this it's a 128 GB SD card, though first you have to convert to FAT32 so that the 3DS can detect it.
This is the one I currently have and it's great because I don't have to worry about running out of space since I plan to buy my games digital.
I recommend it though you can find it cheaper on eBay or other places.

u/Causemos · 2 pointsr/raspberry_pi

Built a Pi3 OSMC player for my parents this xmas. Once the library is scanned/scraped it will work completely off network and display nice images/data. Adding an IR receiver is fairly easy also (3 wires, small hole in case). It was a fun learning experience and I am very happy with the end result.

Snappy/responsive note: Spending a little extra on a good SD card makes a surprising difference. I was originally testing things on regular class 10 card and was somewhat disappointed how sluggish it could be at times. For my final build I did everything on a new V30 class SanDisk card and it was so much better. I'm sure other brands will work, but this is the card I got for reference (note the 16gb version does not have V30 on the card, I got the 32gb one):

u/Consolol · 3 pointsr/photography

You don't need to really worry about card speeds (i.e. you don't need the fastest SD card you can find) with a camera like the NX1000, so as long as you get a decent card you'll be fine. I typically go with SanDisk and Lexar cards, though some people use Transcend as well. As far as picking a card goes, make sure it is Class 10, which means it transfers data at a rate of at least 10 MB/s. This is important because a 10 MB/s card and a 40 MB/s card are both Class 10, so you need to look at the specifications of a card to see how fast it actually is.

I would recommend this card. Just pick the size you think you'll need.

u/Franke123 · 5 pointsr/pcmasterrace

You could have replaced that $15 spent on a keyboard & USB Drive with a $10 wifi adapter, then just SSH'd into the box and done everything that way from your PC, and then used SFTP or SCP to transfer ROM's to the Pi, or just when SSH'ed into the pi do

wget [download link]

Just FYI for anyone that wants to do this project. You also probably won't need a starter kit. Minimum you'll need:

u/rimble · 14 pointsr/SleepApnea

You want to use Sleepyhead for detailed analysis. You can put an SD card in the ResMed it will write detailed info to it, then put that SD card in your computer to get the data off and into Sleepyhead.

I use this sweet wireless SD card that just appears on my network now, so from my computer I can just connect to it and copy the files.

Was a little tricky to get working, but very nice once I did.

u/ryuuzaki08 · 1 pointr/3DS

Just look for Class 10 SDHC. This should work pretty well.

Make sure you get the 32gb. Some 64gb cards will work with the 3DS when formatted correctly, however this one does not. 32GB is honestly enough in my opinion. Though if you can find a compatible 64gb card, and with a simple program, you can get it formatted to work in a 3DS for only a few more dollars.

u/TheFonzDeLeon · 4 pointsr/GH5

I've been using this one: Sony Memory Card 128GB, UHS-II SD, CL10, U3, Max R260MB/s, W100MB/s

It works well for all bit rates, etc., the only caveat being is it won't allow dual simultaneous recording at the high rates. But if you're not recording redundantly, it works great.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/photography

Mostly Amazon (everything from SD cards to lenses and the prices are great), occasionally http://www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk/

u/RaptorMan333 · 1 pointr/videography

I have an internal RAID10 with nearly SATAIII SSD speeds for write, and also an M.2 SSD that gets close to 1.0GB/s that i offload to sometimes. I don't own any external SSDs, only 2.5in HDDs and my memory cards aren't that fast (mainly these: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-UHS-I-Memory-SDSDXVE-064G-GNCIN/dp/B01LORO7BA/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=sandisk+64gb+sd&qid=1554763176&s=gateway&sr=8-5), so for me i can easily offload 2-3+ cards without maxing it out (honestly probably way more than that). I don't shoot red or anything just mirrorless.

And yes it's powered.

its job insurance because if you get in a crash and its not your fault, you can prove that. CDL drivers are automatically assumed at fault for any crash, so proving that you werent at fault goes a long way. like for example if you plowed into someones rear end because he cut you off and then immediately braked, you'd be boned without a cam. its happened to me twice and im not about to let it happen unfilmed if it does.

u/brianmerwinphoto · 2 pointsr/AskPhotography

You want to make sure it's a class 10 card first of all, then look at the speed.

SD cards are so inexpensive now that I always recommend getting the fastest you can find.

As far as 32 vs 64, it's really personal preference and mostly doesn't matter.

I personally go with multiple 32's just because I like having enough that I don't have to hunt for an empty one.

SanDisk, Lexar and Transcend are all good cards.

I personally really prefer the Transcend brand. Just as fast and reliable as SanDisk & Lexar but less expensive.

They're cheap enough that multiple 64GB cards is totally plausible.

u/SleepingPodOne · 1 pointr/videography

As others have already said, multiple SD cards would be the easiest way to do this. And since oyu can get class 10 name brand 32gb sd cards for $8 each, it is a cheep solution.

If you want more toys, another solution would be a wireless bridge. Amazon has one I have used before for under $35. Has USB ports to plug your external drive into, SD card readers for the camera memory, and even has a backup battery to recharge your phone on the go. You plug in the SD card and external HD, connect with your phone, and transfer the data between them no problem.

u/TheBurtReynold · 2 pointsr/teslamotors

Would be really nice to be able to grab videos straight from phone; don't really want to dick with unplugging/plugging a USB very often...

This is mainly what I use for memory when I shoot video. In short you want something thats fast when transferring video to a computer. You also want one with a lot of memory, the size mainly depndes on the highest resolution the camera can shoot in. Generally a 32gb should be enough for 1080p at 30fps which I'm guessing Is the highest resolution as most cameras have that as the highest resolution setting.
