The hookups are same as washer 1/2" and there are two brackets you need to mount. After that you just hook up hoses and hang it on brackets.
There's a hundred different version of this panel but essentially they're all same design and probably made at same factory. For the money I'm very happy, you'd spend same $200 for a nice shower head and valve anyway.

All the extra sprays are nice but after playing with them at first we only really use regular shower and hand shower. Oh there are also no water restricts of any kind so the pressure is very nice.

Listen to your better half. She's a smart girl. Rain shower head is a great thing. What prevents the drip is your shower valve. Get a decent one, and you should not have much to deal with.

The handhelds are nice. Had you thought about a shower panel? 10,000 to choose from, starting at around $100 or so. Here is one candidate:

Hey I ended up going with the DreamLine SHCM-27180 Hydrotherapty Shower Panel. I got it from amazon - see the link - for around $400. It's an excellent shower system so far, and I have not had any issues to this point.


We don't use the shower jets that often, so if you want to try to save some money, you may be able to find a similar unit without them. They do look cool though. I would definitely recommend this one if it fits your budget.

I recommend a shower head like this, and/or an extension like this. I have a similar setup, and it's pretty awesome. Obviously not helpful for the road, but for 95% of the rest of life it's great.

it looks like these 3 way diverter valves are somewhat universal. I found a couple of places that sell things that look very very close, but you'll have to be the judge because it's going to take having your part in hand and measuring it and checking fits etc, which I have no way of doing from photos.

You can go to your local hardware store like Homo Depot and ask for a 3 way (diverter). An example is linked below.

You can also ask for a shower hand held. They can replace your shower head or some come with diverter. But more importantly they use the same sort of hose that you can attach your... attachment to.

Get a shower head extender. Helps with the height, you won't lose any pressure, and it makes it easier to rinse out the tub after cleaning. I recommend this cheapo Delta; it's been good to me for years now.

Oh be warned... be warned. Such a thing does exist. When the time came to remodel my bathroom, I thought I would go all fancy like and install one of these gadgets. Got one of these with one of these to control the water. That part was not too bad. Would have been a simple connection to a classic shower head assembly.

Visions of a full decontamination shower danced through my head, however. Why not a shower head in the celling and additional heads in the wall? Next to hanging wall paper in the nursery, soldering together the bloody thing was one of the hardest challenges my 21 years of marriage survived. They show the easy part. What they don't show was the 'soldering template included for ease of installation', where you had to perfectly align four threaded pipes in a tangled copper Elder Sign. Many months later, I finally had mastered the copper pressure loop / nipple combo - everything measured out exactly and not leaking, with additional pressure loops to honor His Noodly Appendage . So far, the ward has keep the Deep Ones from ravaging my drywall. My sanity suffered greatly from dabbling this in forbidden lore.

On the other hand, this is DIY, so replacing the shower arm is not that complicated. They are connected via a threaded connection in the wall and there are plenty of videos on youtube.

I'd go with an s curve shower arm instead. I'm 6' 2" and put one on my shower and it works perfectly, the adjustable kind can and will leak eventually.

For a glorious showering experience, try this raincan showerhead. I don't know how lived without it now.

I'm only 5'11", but my mom's house was built for hobbits. This is an absolute lifesaver.

The 396 gph version isn't much more expensive. To keep from using too much ice, you could start by letting the pot rest on its own for a few minutes (try a hop stand!), then switch to cold tap water through the pump, then switch that out for ice water. The key is just maintaining a high differential between the wort and whatever you're cooling with.

Another option -- and this is a little off the wall -- is to use your shower. You could switch to a handheld shower, get a diverter, or get a showerhead with a splitter that would let you easily swap in your wort chiller. Handheld showers use a pretty standard 1/2" thread.

Older houses were built for the generations before us. Better nutrition allowed us to grow taller than our parents and this has been going on for a few generations. I'm a builder and the ones I build come out of the ceiling or up around 6'4' depending on the installation. But we've also got to take the shorter of us into account too. Fair warning, I have never used the device, it was just a quick search to illustrate a point. If this were me, I would find the local plumbing supply house where all the tradesmen go to buy plumbing parts, and ask them for an Offset Flange, or at least google offset flange and find one that is reviewed well. My question with using an offset flange is how to get the wax ring to work right, but probably wont bee too difficult.

I purchased a T fitting that allows you to use two shower heads, and switch the water between the two. It works great. It is universal, so it should work with most handheld showers.

Might also look at this style if you are renting. You just unscrew the shower head, screw on the extender, then the shower head goes on the other end of the extender. You can also loosen the fingernuts which lets it flop free. Makes it much easier to rinse out the shower when cleaning.

Why do people put up with this? Either get a detachable shower head or an extension arm.

If you live in an apartment just keep the original one so you can put it back on when you move out. You can usually install them without even using any tools.

Changing my shower arm , getting a water diverter , getting any rainfall shower head, combining it with a high pressure hose shower head and a suction cup shower bar so you don't have to drill . Every time I bathe I feel like I'm in a spa.

It would be similar to the multihead ones you see that have body sprayers, so you should be able to pull it off from a pressure perspective.

Almost 6'3" here. One of the first renovations I've done in every place I've owned is raise the shower head in whatever shower I will be using. It's not really that big a deal if you can access the plumbing from the other side.

I'm assuming this is a dorm with a shower in the room if not this advice might not apply unless you don't mind waiting to take a shower in a specific stall. As a tall person myself I know about this sort of thing. They make height extenders. Here is the one I use. It just screws on where the head is, I would recommend getting a bigger rain type shower head.

just to be clear, this replaces the downward facing shower arm where as the one OP linked attatches onto the end of the downward facing arm.

What you're likely looking for is something like this. I used one similar to this decades ago when I had an old house without a shower. They're a compromise for sure but as you're a renter you're not going to be replacing a tub faucet as it difficult and expensive. Some have no way to attach the shower head to the tub wall and can only be used by hand but this one seems to have suction cup holder. They don't always work well however.

If you can't find wall mount that will stick to your tile, another option could be one of those adjustable shower arms that let you raise and lower the shower head.

Shower sprays can work, but you'll occasionally run into issues like this where it doesn't completely wash out.

You should look into getting a small pressure washer, and a garden hose adapter for your shower arm. When I converted a spare bathroom to my washout station, I got one of these, and one of these, and hooked up my pressure washer to it, while still being able to attach the shower head.
