Oh man, the Rotofury! As much as I would love to joke about its lack of mirrors (I mean, c'mon Hasbro, would it kill you to put just ONE mirror on there?!) the RotoFury is an amazing blaster and in my opinion the only primary-worthy MEGA Blaster for HvZ. It sports a pump-action that feels solid, a generous (for MEGA blasters) 10-round cylinder with plenty of room for tactical reloads, and slam-fire for when the horde comes a-knock'n.

The biggest downside to the RotoFury is the main reason you'd want to carry this blaster in the first place: it fires MEGA darts. MEGA darts are generally inferior to normal elite-style darts in terms of accuracy, range, and capacity (but not awesomeness). Additionally it becomes much more difficult (if not impossible) to ammo scavenge and you can't just take magazines from your human companions like you can with other blasters. However many HvZ games have special rules for MEGA darts that make them worth running such as having MEGA darts do more damage to tanks or even having some special infected immune to anything but MEGA darts. In those games you're going to want someone carrying a MEGA blaster like the RotoFury for support but don't forget about MEGA dart weaknesses! Hit-and-run style tactics where you dash out, tag the special infected, then retreat back to the safety of your human comrades are particularly effective. Just don't get caught alone; it won't end well.

But what if you find yourself in an HvZ game that doesn't have special rules for MEGA darts? Well the RotoFury still has its use! You can mod the cylinder to accept elite darts and now you have a blaster with a massive plunger tube flinging foam incredible distances! And like pretty much all springers, you can get even more distance with a spring swap. Fun times!

If you decide to run a RotoFury pair it with a dump pouch full of MEGA darts. I would also recommend you run an elite dart secondary for ammo compatibility with your fellow humans. In fact this is one of the few times it makes sense to run a Stryfe or other mag-fed blaster as a secondary as your primary doesn't need mags. Then pick up these bad boys to make up for the lack of mirrors. And remember you're support for your fellow humans. It's your primary job to deal with special infected. Let the others take care of the riff-raff. Stay alive.

Just get it here then.

If you want to make a faithful mockup of the blacklight version:

u/elrohir_ancalin · 13 pointsr/homestuck

In scratch.php they can obviously print it with a green background, so I am assuming you refer to when he speaks in conventional pages and you have to highlight his text to see it.

The coolest way to do it would be to print the text in white on a transparent plastic overlay layer on top of the regular white-background pages, and attach a black bookmark to the volume that can be slid in-between the transparent overlay and the page. Kind of like the way some kids science books have multiple layers that stack on the same picture with different descriptions of it.

Another visual technique would be to print the letters white-on-white with some sort of special ink that polarizes light, and attach a polarized plastic lens like the ones used in cheap 3D movie glasses to the package.

But I figure that would make the book expensive as all fuck. So probably they will go for the cheapest option and print the pages with the lines pre-highlighted. Perhaps printing the first page where he speaks twice, first without highlighting and then again with highlihgting, just to get the point across to the reader on what is happening.

EDIT: There is also the black-light technique. It is possible to print white-on-white using special ink that lights up when lighed with a violet light. There are even markers made with that, so it's cheap. They could print Doc's lines with that ink and package a cheap 35-cent chinese UV light with the books for the readers to use.

EDIT2: I found a toy that does something with glasses similar to my suggestion of the polarized lens.

If you really wanted to go to town with the 'stranger' concept, you can buy a voice modifier to wear under your mask.

But you must consider whether this is a game she will enjoy, or whether she would get truly spooked by overdoing it on the first attempt. Don't screw up your relationship by making this too real.

Not OP, but invisible ink pens that show up under black light (we bought these for a different element of the wedding, but thanks to this sub, I used them on the RSVP postcards, too!) https://www.amazon.com/MaleDen-Invisible-Upgraded-Message-Halloween/dp/B07CPKYJNC/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2BADBQZZI9F5N&keywords=invisible+ink+pen&qid=1556645314&s=gateway&sprefix=invisible+ink%2Caps%2C122&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

I bought these and had the exact same result. Worked perfectly!

u/Dab_Tsog · 0 pointsr/NeverBeGameOver

Hehe, that would be such an 80's thing to do, to be fair. I remember this sort of thing when I was a child, things like this (http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Symphony-Diffraction-Glass-Decoder/dp/B00KVVGUB6). I have vague memories of playing with them.

u/eperry515 · 2 pointsr/preppers

I have 2 pair of these and they work good enough to see 70 feet or more and cost next to nothing compared to even my GEN 1 or GEN 2 scopes. The 2 double AA batteries lasts about 2 hours of constant vision. It is just an IR cctv camera run on a battery with two little monitors.

I found mine for $25 on clearance.

I found this kid's book about Francis Drake: https://www.amazon.com/Sir-Francis-Drake-Daring-Deeds/dp/0374466882

Edit: also maybe some night vision goggles, a kid's flashlight, or some walkie talkies. Those all seem like adventurer's equipment.

u/SturgeonMcGuai · 1 pointr/mildlyinteresting

The AAAs were dead, so I just popped in AAs and it seems to work fine.

It's one of these for anyone interested. Apparently you can write custom apps for it to run, so I'll have to look into that. Overall, not bad for 99¢.

u/NancyFuckinGrace · 4 pointsr/A_irsoft

lol i'm tempted to get these

Or, $63 + s/h. Yes, they're real.

We bought secret agent pens and wrote in "invisible ink" a number on each invite corresponding to a guest list. Was hoping I wasn't going to have to need to do that, but it HAS come in handy.

If this is too technical then you can just buy on of the basic electronic kits off Amazon and use it...http://www.amazon.com/Spy-Gear-Micro-Agent-Motion/dp/B00KES43Z6/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1449842775&sr=8-18&keywords=sensor+toy

I found the almost exact same thing at a thrift for $10. My plan is to gut them and try to shove the hardware into a scope for my fancy painted Longshot. Mine is also missing the battery door.

Here's a link for Amazon, though I'd say $200 is a bit silly

You might try using a UV pen to put a few dots on the back of a card, on the border? You’d have to see how the “invisible” ink interacts with the coating on the card, but that might be the least obtrusive way to do it.

You can try Amazon. I got this set for my nephew. They're kind of toy-like but seem to do the job.

Or, online military surplus stores, if you haven't tried that yet.

Its because CCDs in webcams and phones can see a little into IR. Your human eyes can't see it, but the sensor can and the software translates it down to something displayable on the screen. Voila! You can see IR.

You can spend 40 bucks and wear this setup on your face:

Get him one of these. Nightvision goggles that actually work, $50. Also check out Vat19 and thinkgeek for more ideas.

u/Tlingit_Raven · 2 pointsr/DMAcademy

There are sites that tell you how to make your own ink, but I'm lazy and so I just bought these. I've had no issues with them working, and I just make every card look like it potentially has room for some hidden text to keep players from having an idea.
