🎓 Reddit experts on computer headsets
The comments and opinions expressed on this page are written exclusively by redditors. For your reference and for the sake of transparency, here are the specialists whose opinions mattered the most in our ranking.
You may not appreciate sound quality now, but once you dive into it you probably will. It's similar to good beer. Anybody can tell the difference between a nice bottle of beer and say a bottle of Miller, but until you start exploring the difference may start out small. Once you start listening consistently to FLAC or 320kbps music you'll look back at your music that is at 128kbps and wish it was better. Unless you start getting your music in good quality, good headphones probably aren't worth it. I think it's worth the commitment to high quality audio though, especially with disc space being so cheap.
I still stand my ground that a pair of Sony MDR-V150's is the best budget buy for headphones. I've had these for about six years; they have been rolled over by chairs, traveled to France, Mexico, across the country, stuffed into bags, bent in ways that headphones shouldn't be bent, and they still work and sound great. The sound quality is great too. I get all my music in FLAC and I listen to it at work with these.
I did a very non-scientific test with a co-worker who has a pair of Sennheiser headphones (I swear by Sennheiser for their headsets, e.g. PC 166) that cost about 5x as much as the MDR-V150's and I didn't see much of a difference except for the bass was a bit better in his. But, again, five times as much money.
A own a few:
Sennheiser HD518 Amazon.com Link
Amazing headphones for games. Not costly at all but have fantastic range and are incredibly comfortable to wear. I have yet to see any headphones near the HD518's that are equally as good. I have worn these for hours on end day after day.
Sennheiser PC330 Amazon.com Lniky-poo
Tried to get into the whole "Headset" deal. Was not impressed, the earcups on the 330's are aweful compared to the HD series. I really should have gotten the next level up for the better earcups. The microphone is decent quality and comes through clear without any interference. So that's a plus.
AKG K40's McLINKATHON! - (amazon link)
Probably my oldest pair of headphones. Got these guys when they were hip. They are a fantastic set and are excellent to listen to all day, Although the earcups are kinda "flat" compared to the others. So I can feel the earcups against me. It creates a better listening environment but after long sessions you may get irratation on the sides of your ears
After Boxing day I will probably be hunting for another sale. The Sennhieser Game Ones use the same HD series earcup, The new corsairs Voids are out which I would love to try. Of course Audio-technica's are always really pretty.

Please feel free to suggest anything else
While people are recommending headsets that come with the mic. I'm going to recommend something else. Get a high quality set of over the ear headphones. I'm talking something like the Audio Technica ATH-M50S, Audio Technica ATH-AD700, Sennheiser HD555/595 (The 595's are very similar to the 555's but sound better, there are links around that you can mod your 555's to become 595's), or Sennheiser HD380 Pro. And then attach a Zalman Mic to it.
I have a pair of HD595's and absolutely love them, I can wear them all day and not feel it. They are built like tanks and have amazing sound quality. With my Zalman mic, I not only have a headset that has much higher sound quality than any gaming headset, but I can also use it for VOIP.
I used to have a pair of Creative Fatal1ty MKii, but after picking up my Sennheiser's I can't go back to them. The comfort and sound quality is literally night and day.
Although slightly out of your price range, the two companies make extremely high quality audio equipment. If you look through their offerings you'll definitely find a pair of headphones that will fit your budget. If you watch Amazon you can find that they cut prices dramatically from time to time, I picked up my 595's for around $150, and now they're almost $250.
If you have a soundblaster sound card or onboard 5.1 on your motherboard, which most motherboards these days do, then I highly reccomend the Roccat Kave 5.1 headphones. They have true 5.1 audio, not simulated. I can tell the difference for sure (I previously used the turtle beach px21 which were simulated surrond and the kave blows them away). They sound amazing with games. They have great bass and they actually have small transducers in them to give more vibration with bass, so it gives a little bit more immersion. The mic is solid, but nothing spectacular. Again, don't bother with these if you dont have analog 5.1 inputs, as they have 5 connectors (mic, sub, center, l/r front, and l/r rear. I can't recommend these cans enough if you want true 5.1 sound. . They are around $90 on amazon so within your price range.

Good luck with your search. Hope this helps.
I really like this one

These are supposed to be good too
http://www.amazon.com/ROCCAT-Surround-Gaming-Headset-ROC-14-500/dp/B00275C2L6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405477786&sr=8-1&keywords=Roccat+Kave+5.1+Surround+Sound
But my all time personal favorite....

They look amazing, sound amazing, feel amazing. Probably the best wireless headset for the money.
These are pretty good:
http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-HS-980-Fatal1ty-Professional/dp/B002BH3JDA
They've served my best friend pretty well, she had an eargasm at how good they felt and the bass compared to her logitech g3...5? I forget what they were honestly.
For £15 there isn't much that will sound better than a laptop microphone, but on Amazon right now, this headset is on sale. It is owned by a friend of mine who doesn't like to buy expensive things and it doesn't sound awful. It's definitely better than any laptop microphone I have heard.
I don't know if this will help or if he had headphones/headset already, but I think it's the best option.
I've been doing more travel recently, so I bought a nice pair of Sony XM1000MX3 noise cancelling headphones. This means I don't need my Plantronics Voyager Focus UC headphones/headset anymore. It's a nice Bluetooth/USB stereo headset that comes with a charging stand, a USB Bluetooth radio dongle, and a carrying case. It goes for $166.28 on Amazon right now and I'm asking $125. Here's a Photo.
It's perfect for someone who works from home and needs to drown out a little background noise but not airplane engines. The sound is good (not audiophile quality, but very good for this class of product), and the noise-reduction microphones are really good for calls/Skype. I even used it to record audio for screenshot tutorials and it worked pretty well.
Capturing the in-game sound is easy as your HDMI capture card will pick up the audio that's being put out by the console over HDMI that's already going to your TV as-is right now today.
The only real hangup is trying to capture the chat audio, if you're using that. The Xbox One has a built-in option to send both the incoming and outgoing chat headset audio over HDMI making chat capture work automagically work if you're already grabbing HDMI. For the likes of the PS4, PS3, 360, Switch, Wii U you will need an analog audio pass-though splitter like the Elgato Chat Link. You then run the output of the splitter into the line-in of your PC and mix that in with your microphone and HDMI audio.
As for the mic itself, what you're looking for is a boundary microphone, which is what those little hockey puck microphones you see in corporate conference rooms are. Cheap examples made just for your use case would be the Plantronics Calisto 610-M and Jabra Speak 410 which are ostensibly conference call speakerphones, but it's the type of device you're looking for. The MXL AC-424 would be a good USB boundary mic that doesn't need an audio interface.
Just be aware that boundary mics are good at picking up room echo, so thing like rugs/carpet on the floor and soft furniture will help a lot.
If you haven't bought the webcam yet, I'd actually get the Logitech C925e over a C922 as the C925e has the exact same optics and sensor as the C922, but in a better mechanical package (built-in lens cover anybody?) and costs less.
Yeah, I have a logitech USB headset (something like this)that I think I paid 20$ for. It's pretty beat up because I'm clumsy and/or often drunk, but it's still working fine after 5 years.
I like the flexibility that the USB gives me - I can route game audio through my speakers, and mumble audio through the headset, or both through my speakers.
For best quality, I just hang the headset around my neck and just use it as a microphone, and plug in my higher-quality headphones for game and mumble audio.
My first recommendation, do Not get wireless. The battery life and audio quality degradation are not worth the convenience of no wires.
I was on the hunt for a new headset yesterday to replace my Logitech ClearChat whose right speaker is going bad. I have always purchased Logitech headsets mostly out of loyalty and having a good idea of what I am getting. This time I looked at other brands and came away still purchasing Logitech, the H530, which is basically an "upgraded" version of the ClearChat I am used to. I've recommended the ClearChat to others at my work and they have all enjoyed it. It is comfortable to wear for long periods, has a nice long cable (but Huge plug-end) and the audio quality doesn't warrant complaint.
The H530 should arrive in a couple hours; if there's anything remarkable about it I'll be sure to update this thread.
OK so your problem is you have two of those headsets linked above and you need both running at once to the same computer?
Alright, no problem. You can do a couple different things to get this going.
How professional are we talking here? I mean obviously you have some sort of budget to pay for the audio interface or did you already buy it?
On a smaller budget and semi-pro results I'd probably buy a few decent USB headsets with noise cancelling, then use Asio4All to virtually multiplex the USB headsets into one 'virtual audio interface'. Then you can route the virtual interface however you like.
You can have both recording and both playing back and using a DAW you can software mix.
Then I'd probably get a USB MIDI fader control for all the levels. In your DAW you are going to map these faders to the headphone and mic levels of your multiple headsets. Having those faders handy will help you get your levels right and quickly.
Lastly I'd buy a vocal VST with presets for podcasting. I highly recommend Izotope Nectar Elements. This software will eliminate background noise (via the noise gate), add whatever reverb you want so it sounds like you are in a different room, properly EQ you for voice, and a host of other things. Nectar Elements is only $35 here.
Total price: $95 + tax/shipping on headsets + $60 if you go with the optional MIDI fader control. Less than your audio interface (or about the same price with the optional faders).
The only downside is that the USB mics won't be that useful if you upgrade to a full professional system. The upside is you are only spending $60 on this and it'll work - probably far better than what you've got going now. The MIDI fader control is infinitely useful and can still be used when you upgrade down the road.
If you want to go really cheap, I've been using this Plantronics Headset for about 3 years now. It's probably not the greatest piece of equipment, but I don't have any complaints, and it hasn't broken yet. Sound quality is still good and the mic works fine for what I do. I put in ~15k matches in World of Tanks with a clan using coms, and it worked perfectly through all of that as far as sound and mic quality.
The Prodigy is giant, I chose it because I personally love it, and it's a great case for a beginner to build in. You can also get away with a non-modular PSU for it, which drops the price quite a bit.
Here's my Steambox, which, when coupled with a good Xbox 360 controller, this keyboard, and this headset, it's almost like PC gaming.
I am looking for a good pair of headphones that will be comfortable laying in bed with. They would be only be using for listening to asmr videos from youtube. Something that doesnt hurt my hear when my head is on its side on my pillow. I have tried using my old ipod earbuds, my IEMs that came with my galaxy s5. both of which hurt. Also my big big over the ear headphones I use with my computer. Which is super uncomfortable.
Budget: around 50 dollars. Possible 75 to 100 if you can convince me they are worth it. Yes... willing to spend a lot on these because they are important to my daily sleep ritual...
Source: My samsung galaxy s5.
Isolation: I don't really need isolation. As I will be laying in bed at night with them, in my completely silent room. Nobody around even.
Proffered type: Considering how uncomfortable my over the ear headphones that are connected to my computer are, which is this http://amzn.com/B00081A2CW , I think earbuds or IEMs are the way to go. unless you have another suggestion considering my horrible test of over the ear type.
Tone balance: You know... I don't really know, if you know anything about asmr... then whatever would be best for those sounds.
I touched a bit on past headphones. Pretty much why I am here is because they were uncomfortable to lay on. I do like the isolation on the galaxy IEMs. as well as how much better they are at not getting pulled out of the ear, thats all i really can comment about this.....
I just need something that doesn't hurt when laying on my side, and replicates the sounds strongly.
Reposting from an earlier daily thread:
Budget: sub 200 GBP, firm. Sub ~150 is ideal.
Source: Laptop, gaming use.
Isolation: Unnecessary. I'll be using these in my bedroom, it's more to not disturb flatmates (there's a wall between me and anyone else). No public use planned. I'd like open air headphones.
Type: Full size, over ear please.
Tonal balance: overall balanced. I would like speech to be as clear as possible, if that helps.
Past headphones: the earbuds that came with my phone. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm after a pair of over-ear, open backed headphones for gaming (I can't really hear myself talking with the closed ones I have now). These won't be for public use, but more so that I don't disturb my flat mates with gaming noise. Something with a built in mike would be nice. I did find these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-PC320-over-ear-gaming-headset/dp/B005HWEZ02/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1474708963&sr=8-5&keywords=open+air+headset which seem to be everything I'm after, but I would like other opinions.
I've been using the Koss SB45 for a while. It is a full headset, covering my ears completely. It does have a flat cord. The sound quality is pretty good, you can hear it on my videos so far. I have taken my vocal track into audacity and run noise reduction, compressor, normalizer and equalizer on it before editing my video. I got it after watching this video from X Plays. I realize it's over two years old and he may not use it anymore but it still sounds pretty good. Not as good as my new condenser but as far as cheap headsets go, I'd recommend it.
I don't think this is the right sub for that question, but this is a nice headset well below your budget.
Also, if you really want a higher end one, this is an excellent option.
Logitech G400 is great.
Standard 10 bucks keyboard is fine. I have a backlit one with a wrist rest for 30 bucks, but that isn't really necessary.
Im a big fan of Sennheiser headsets, you can get basically anything from them (circumaural or smaller). If you don't have a soundcard i would recommend that you get one, good ones cost only 30 bucks.
Game One is 'open', while Zero is 'closed/dynamic'. Found this difference by looking at the comparison at the bottom of the amazon offer for the Zero.
Also according to this:
>not sure if there are any other differences but i know the zero changed in impedance from 150ohm to 50ohm. likely they did a bit of changes since many people were using onboard and having trouble driving them effectively. as far as how they sound... should be similiar. just my thoughts... i havent researched it in depth.
So the Zeros are (or at least were) offering better audio considering the higher impedance. Not sure if that's actually true or worth an increase in price, but I guess that's the reason.
Like /u/PhoenixAV said, just get a webcam (I have the same one, it's rock solid), you might need a USB extender (https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Extension-Cable-Male-Female/dp/B00NH11PEY/ this works fine, would not go much farther)
For sound, I'd highly recommend getting a simple Jabra Speak 410 https://www.amazon.com/Jabra-Speak-Speakerphone-Retail-Packaging/dp/B007SHJIO2/ It's got decent sound for voice, some mute, volume controls. Between that and the webcam, you can support 4 or 5 people on a call and look professional at the same time.
Good luck!
August is usually a month split into two and for kids it is a miserable part of both vacation ending and school starting. As we get older these 31 days for Augustus turn into great weather and last minute friendships either growing or sputtering out. When we have kids it turns into a time of peace where children are away for certain periods of time with school starting again. August is filled with little wonders you can see in no other part of the year, and for this it is great.
Item
If you're looking to replace the entire headset and want something cheaper than the usual headsets people suggesting (Razer, Turtle Beach, etc), I would personally recommend a pair of Plantronics Audio .355s. I've only had them for about a month, but they're comfortable to wear (even though my ears are big), and for $20 USD, the sound and mic quality they provide are excellent. (I got mine for $30 CAD, though.)
If you're doing non-shooter-gaming stuff and want good sound, get the best stereo headphones you can find. Sony and Sennheiser make great audio equipment.
And then get a stand-alone mic and a stand of some kind.
I can't really recommend any 5.1 surround headphones at the moment since they don't seem to exist any more. Everything I could find was 5.1 headset with mic and marketed toward gamers at an insane markup. Get a 5.1 speaker system instead. If that's not possible, this headset by ROCCAT is the only thing I could find for <$100 that still had true 5.1 surround.
If you want to reduce hissing noise, get an external DAC... usually run $100+ though and are probably overkill for most people.
The hyper X clouds are the only ones that get decent reviews in teams of headphone quality and their mics are fairly good as well. The difference is if you spend a tiny bit more money you can get a modmic and a pair of actually good headphones.
And if you are on a massive budget Something like these are a far better use of your money. They perform about the same as the razer,Steelseries and logitech ones for half the price.
No.
You're not going to get what most would consider a good headset for $50 or less, and you're DEFINITELY not going to get a good wireless headset for $50 or less. If you want something for in game chat and you don't care much about music or audio quality then you can get this headset from Logitech. Otherwise, get $30-$40 wired headphones and a $5 microphone.
Also, Windows uninstall just removes whatever the application developer wrote into their uninstaller. So often times this means files will be leftover, you can get something like the free Revo Uninstaller to remove those leftover files.
Edit: I see you currently have earbuds, just get this TSSR to TSR splitter and connect them to your microphone and headphone ports - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I7SS3EQ/
http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-HS-980-Fatal1ty-Professional/dp/B002BH3JDA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1322875940&sr=8-2
Beautiful sound quality, under $50, sturdy as hell, and they are super comfortable. Best pair of headphones I've ever owned. :D
You should have the group pick up a USB speakerphone like Jabra makes in order to get them heard and to hear. Either that or they'll need to all connect separately to voice and sound. We had this problem and the only thing that worked well enough was separate headsets for everyone. You might have luck with the speakerphone idea, though.
This is the one I have for work, and it's awesome for a multi-directional mic: https://www.amazon.com/Jabra-Speak410-Speakerphone-Retail-Packaging/dp/B007SHJIO2
I've had this headset for almost 4 years: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Stereo-Headset-H250-981-000353/dp/B005DKZTLW
The left ear has seemed to finally go out for good. I'd get another but the price has gone up considerably. Does anyone know of similar headsets? The flat speakers are much more comfortable for me compared to the normal circular/closed type, so that's what I'm looking for. Thanks.
I absolutely love these Bluetooth headphones with the Vive:
https://www.amazon.com/LG-Infinim-HBS-900-Wireless-Headset/dp/B00NW2JBYO
They're easy to take off quickly. Easy to change volume too.
For reference, I am no audio expert at all. I never worried about sound quality and prioritized cheap vs quality until now. I have owned several cheap headphones and now I want to upgrade.
I want them mostly for Destkop PC uses, working, gaming, films, music... I actually own a [Sennheiser PC 320] (https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PC-320-Gaming-Headset/dp/B005HWEZ02/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1499808118&sr=1-1&keywords=pc+320) headset that i feel really comfortable and can use for hours.
I am usually surrounded of people and sounds, and I can hear every bit of sound arround me even with volume set to max.
So I want to leave the headset behind and use some headphones + destkop mic/modmic.
I recently bought a pair of Sony MDR 1000X, but couldn't make them correctly work with my PC and had the (apparently common) squeaking on the left side. So I returned them and bought a pair of ATH-M50x thinking of the isolation that closed back would provide could be a good option, but I feel them too opresing and felt hot and heavy only with a couple of hours of use.
So here I am, thinking on returning these M50x and buying something else, but I'm out of ideas and I need your help. Thanks in advance.
r/headphones is a good place.
Sennheiser makes great headphones, all my friends that get the gaming one or zero difference is open vs closed. I personally prefer open gives me a better sound stage and lets my ears breath.
https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-ONE-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00GWU8FTK/
https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-G4ME-ZERO-Over-Ear-Headset/dp/B00GXW8358/
Personally I'm rolling a $1400 headphone system with dedicated DAC and AMP for my headphones. You can dump a shit ton of money into this stuff.
I'll be buying these headphones next.

My experience with Plantronics is that they tend to break.
Your best bet is to maybe look around at some Sennheisers PC 151 or PC161.
Apparently, both of these are going for cheap. They are really comfy and sound awesome.
Keyboard : Microsoft Comfort Keyboard. Gaming Keyboard: Saitek PZ31A Pro Gamer Command
Mouse: Logitech G500
Headset : Sennheiser PC161
I love and would recommend them all.
I've just read some customer reviews on Amazon. I don't know the headset (first time I've heard of it) but it gives the general impression that the mic is great, sound quality is okay but ANC does very little.
https://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Voyager-Bluetooth-202652-01-Cancelling/dp/B013F4LJTI#customerReviews
Filter by noise cancelling.
Might I suggest a [Logitech H530] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Headset-Premium-Laser-Tuned-981-000195/dp/B003NREDG4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1YSHFLKFQOKU0&coliid=I2NE450RHMPC67) it was my last headset and lasted a good eight years, until the plastic fatigued so much that it just gave out. Great headset though, I'd try to find a better price than on amazon.
My friend has a Turtle Beach, and he's thinking about selling it because it's just so difficult to use. The microphone always plays back through his headphones, and it uses up a USB port as well as the headphone jack.
I bought a Sennheiser PC330 G4ME for about £60, but for some reason it's more expensive in America. However, it's definitely worth the money.
I've been using Bluetooth earbuds for the last five years (currently, these) with various smartphones and everything has been fine. At this point, I could never go back to wired headphones for listening on the go.
I'm actually pretty excited about this. If Apple really does ditch the headphone jack, maybe more manufacturers will get into the stereo Bluetooth headset game and we might finally see some innovation.
Stereo Option - HD 650
7.1 option Razer 7.1
Or 5.1s that are cheaper but good value KAve
Depends if money is an issue and if you want stereo or surround sound
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PC-166-Multimedia-Headset/dp/B000H0IDUW
The Sennheiser PC166 USB headset has blown me away; the headphones a crazy comfortable, I could probably never wear them forever and the mic is indestructible. I bought one for my little brother for Christmas and the mic has better sound quality than my phone, by a long shot.
Also It has good localized sound so people can't hear what is playing on you're headphones even when it's really really loud. Surround sound headsets seem to have trouble with noise localization.
I went through the same searching for a headset for a long time, the same thing you're doing, I tried some turtle beach headphones and was really not impressed the but the Sennheiser I've had for 6 months now is wonderful.
I got a pair of Sennheiser PC 166s on a recommendation from a guildmate. They're bar-none the most comfortable pair of headphones I've ever worn. Pretty excellent sound quality too. Only downside is they're a little pricey, but you can probably find a good deal of them if you look (found mine for 50% off on Amazon one lucky day).
I do miss the Darth Vader impression I could do with my old crappy ones, but my guildmates don't.
PLEASE! Get a good head set! This one is cheap and works good. ( I would only go with a good name brand or it will go bad quick)

Just purchased and set up my first XIM4 yesterday. Here is the headphones I purchased to resolve the issue for PS4. I went the USB route.
Mpow USB Headset/ 3.5mm Computer Headset with Microphone Noise Cancelling , Lightweight PC Headset Wired Headphones, Business Headset for Skype, Webinar, Phone, Call Center https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XWG12QS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5MCaAbZGT8HQV
Yea, you will have to have a long enough wire if you gaming from the couch but for the price point you actually getting decent headphones. not only that the way I see it you are getting 2 in 1 headphones and the USB adapter
Hope that helps.
You could save 25¢ a day for a month and get decent mic/headset.
Edit: For all you downvoting dickbags.
$11.75
$9.99
$10.17
$3.36
Tons more around that price range.
Or you could save a WHOPPING 50¢ a day and get $15.99
Point is, having no mic is no excuse. A 12 year old could save enough for anything that could do the job for chatting on a ps4
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plantronics-Voyager-Stereo-Bluetooth-Headset-black/dp/B013F4LJTI/ref=sr_1_95?ie=UTF8&qid=1549131333&sr=8-95&keywords=headset+bluetooth - good brand and the capabilities are awesome.
Your first point about getting a good mic is so true! I've seen way too many videos with some low quality, noisy recording and it's just not worth listening to. For my videos I either use my Sennheiser headset mic (although I don't like how loud my breathing sounds with that) or my Samson C01U which sounds fantastic.
I'd also recommend cleaning it up in something like Audacity to remove any static in the background.
I've had one of these for ~2 years, and it's served me pretty well. I don't have any experience with the HS-800, which seems to be the only headset available from Creative atm.
This is a bit ghetto but I bought a https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-000214-Stereo-Headset-H110/dp/B003H4QPJQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1469913989&sr=1-8&keywords=logitech+headset took the screws out, removed the mic arm and cut the cables to the actual headphones and used gaffa tape to stick it to my ATH-m50x's
I've been told on a few occasions that my mic is pretty crystal clear, but I do use a 3rd party soundcard.
For audio hardware, of all the various units I've tested, this one is my favorite:
Jabra Speak 410
For larger groups, the 710 model allows you to link 2 units:
Jabra Speak 710
For cameras:
Fixed, small group, tripod or display/TV top mount:
Logitech c930e
Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ), Large room, tripod, tabletop, or wall mount:
Logitech PTZ Pro Camera
Avoid this one - we purchased 10, and so far the speaker has died on 6 of them in the past 2 years:
Logitech Conference Cam BCC950
Other hardware options:
Zoom Room Recommended Hardware
For platform, if you use G Suite & have Enterprise licensing, Google Meet is fantastic, as it supports dial-in numbers and up to 50 participants. Also, it has a new hardware kit w/ touchscreen remote:
Hangouts Meet hardware kit
If you are nor using G Suite, then either Zoom.us or Blue Jeans would be my first pick, with a slight edge to Zoom.
For more traditional, less video-centric, powerpoint heavy platform, GoToMeeting or GoToWebinar.
Let me know if you have any questions about any of the platforms or hardware.
I picked up this one on sale awhile back. Never heard of the brand before but it has some great sound/mic quality. Works on both PC and PS4
I have this: MPOW and I LOVE it!!
it's called the Plantronics Focus.
Check this out at Amazon.com - Plantronics Voyager Focus UC Bluetooth USB B825 202652-01 Headset with Active Noise Cancelling https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013F4LJTI/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_QK1UDbJV4EKRB
my wife got them and she says she found them on sale for like a 100 so I think you can shop around
it's not really advertised as a "feature" even though maybe it should be. it's actually just a clever wife effect of it being ambidextrous

Budget - Less than or equal to 100
Source - Nexus 6p (bluetooth)
Requirements for Isolation -It'd be nice but not a major need
Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Yes
Preferred Type of Headphone - In ear
Preferred tonal balance - Not an audiophile sorry!
Past headphones - I'm currently using the LG Infinium 900
Preferred Music - I listen to a lot of different genres
Hey guys. I currently have these bluetooth headphones https://www.amazon.com/LG-Infinim-HBS-900-Wireless-Headset/dp/B00NW2JBYO
The left piece is broken and doesn't have sound coming out of it. As a result, I'm looking for a replacement. I've been looking at the Jaybird X3. This bluetooth headphone is very popular from what I can tell. Does anyone have any experience with these headphones? I know bluetooth headphones aren't that big in this subreddit but I had no idea where to ask. Other recommendations are welcome, although I'm looking for earbuds; I don't want headphones.
I have a pair of Sennheiser PC161 Binaural Headset with Microphone & XL Ear Caps. They are very comfortable, have good sound quality, and survived my two year old playing with them. Amazon has them on sale right now for $74.95. They are not USB, but you can fix that with this.
Truthfully, one of those has to get cut.
Reliability is very subjective, most "gaming" headsets don't last long. If I were to recommend something reliable to you, I would recommend the PC330's, the only thing they lack that you want is a USB connection, which means nothing. It is actually worse. There are USB sound cards for 2 dollars out there, or you can get a regular sound card for your PC that is 25 dollars (Asus Xonar DG), these are much better.
If aren't hell-bent on getting a headset, please look at my other post
I've used this $19.99 headset to record myself using the sound recorder on my laptop, and I'm pleased with the sound quality.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWG12QS
You'll want to adjust the positioning of the microphone, do a few test recordings, till you're satisfied with the sound.
This is interesting.....
It almost sounds like it's an issue with the Bluetooth radios in your device and headsets. Not being something 'wrong', just connection issues (think putting diesel in a reg gas engine).
That said, I would get a replacement ordered ASAP so you're not outside the 14 days (not sure where you ordered from).
Try the new device and see what happens. If you get the same thing, then it's the radios connecting to each other and I'd either decide if you want a different phone or headset.
Given my experience with this thing, I'd say look at new headphones.
As a sidenote, I have these (https://www.amazon.com/LG-Infinim-HBS-900-Wireless-Headset/dp/B00NW2JBYO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1481415173&sr=8-4&keywords=lg+bluetooth+headset) and they work well - they drop in certain places that have a bunch of stuff going on (WiFi, wireless TVs, etc.)
Your headset doesn't work on computers, for the most part. Your computer has one microphone jack and one audio out jack but, your headset only has 1 jack, it can't plug into both jacks at once. There are computers with combined audio/mic jacks but, it doesn't look like yours is one of them, cell phones on the other hand almost always used a combined jack (So, it works fine on your cellphone).
There are adapters out there to convert it. This might work: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-MUYHSFMM-Headset-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B0058DOWH6/
It's about the same price to just buy the two-jack version of the headset you have now: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-000459-Stereo-Headset-H110/dp/B003H4QPJQ

I'm looking for most bang for a buck type of headphones with detachable or built in mic. Headphones would be used on my desktop PC for listening to music, gaming and skype calls. Same would go for phone on the go, minus gaming. I've had lots of bad experiences with headphones because after a while sound stops coming from one ear or crackling. I've been eye balling Rhythmz Blu HD which seems to be addressing all my issues. Price on those ones is a bit steep because of taxes as I cannot find EU retailer.
I run Plantronics Gamecom 388 and they are awesome. ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Plantronics-GameCom-3-5mm-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00LNK4SJA ) If you are wearing glasses, they might be uncomfortable for a while, but once they break in, they are good.
so I use this cheap ass headset and just have the mic pointed at my face. I played 3's yesterday and can check my friends audio to see if you can hear my board at all.
I've got the Creative Labs "Fatality" headset and I fucking love it.
It's not marketed for just gaming and it seems cheap at first, but I have a Plantronics brand headset that's and I don't have any issues. No white noise or echo, my voice seems to go through clear.
Edit: mine http://amzn.com/B001J30FZM
Edit2: not mine but would probably be a lot better than mine http://amzn.com/B00B1KJK22
The helmet was bought off Amazon, along with the headset and visor.
The duct tape was also bought there, but its easy enough to find so I won't link it.
The main central column was done using the cardboard from a tissue box.
I bought [this one] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-000214-Stereo-Headset-H110/dp/B003H4QPJQ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1425985666&sr=8-6&keywords=logitech+headset) when I got into comp. TF2 and it was really good. It started to hurt a little after like 3 hours, but the matches are never that long anyway. Soundquality was better than expected too.
I just got this the other day. Works great. The bass is amazing compared to my old shitty headset:
http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-51MZ0310AA002-Fatal1ty-Headset/dp/B000RI397G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1239980276&sr=8-1
Plantronics' headsets. I use the Audio .655 and I love it.
Budget: 50$
Source: PC
Isolation: Some preferred.
Type of headphone: Full-sized, closed.
Past headphones: Plantronics .audio 355
What I would like to improve: Comfort, they hurt my ears after prolonged use.
Uses: Gaming for the most part.
I am no audiophile by any means, so comfort is #1 priority.
While my current headset sounds okay to me, my ears will start to numb and hurt after a couple of hours of gaming.
Link to current: https://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Audio-355-Multimedia-Headset/dp/B001J30FZM
Would I be better off just getting more comfortable replacement earbuds (if possible), or should I buy a new headphone altogether?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have some LG wireless bluetooth headphones that are great. I use them for rides outside even, and the earbuds retract into the device when not in use.
My headphones on amazon
I have always been known to destroy most headsets withing weeks. I have now owned a pair of these for 2 years and they are not showing any obvious signs of wear. The sound quality is not outstanding but pretty good. The plush also is a lot nicer than (fake) leather for long gaming session with sweaty ears.
Very happy with http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000RI397G?pc_redir=1411680715&robot_redir=1
Goes for 29€
Excellent mouse(I tried many this is my favorite) for a headset you can choose this aswell as picking up this and for a keybaord this is a nice one
I buy these when I need earbuds and these when I need a gaming headset.
They're a little, uh... under budget. They work well enough for me though, granted I'm not an audiophile by any definition of the word.
I've used this headset for the longest and it works great for me. If you're not an audiophile I think anything more expensive is just going to be overkill and not deliver superior quality for the price.
<$20 Plantronics Audio 355
$28 Creative Fatal1ty
well if you wanted green you could get a pair of these and then get a desktop mic (which seems to be what a few people here would advocate)
if you're dead set on getting a headset I can recommend pretty much any Razer headset since me and my friends have all experienced nothing but good things from them throughout the years. also Logitech makes quality stuff and I've heard nothing but good things about their products. probably the best said I've used through the years has been this one.....until I broke it :D
Are you, are you suggesting that individuals are allowed to coordinate and use teamwork in order to gain a competitive advantage...? Not all of us can shell out $10 for a headset you jerk. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-000214-Stereo-Headset-H110/dp/B003H4QPJQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1409710552&sr=1-1&keywords=headset
Looking for a cheap headset for pc gaming at around ~$30 or so. I've already done a bit of research and it looks like my cheapest (yet still decent) option would be Koss SB-45 and the somewhat more expensive (inching toward $40) option would be Superlux HD 681 plus a clip-on mic.
Thoughts?
Mine had these: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-000214-Stereo-Headset-H110/dp/B003H4QPJQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491884315&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+headset&refinements=p_89%3ALogitech
In bulk they were probably like $2 right? Can you order directly from logitech?
There are USB-based headsets available, if that would work better for you than a stationary mic. (Google knows all.)
you don't even need to spend $40, I've been using this thing for five years and both the sound quality and the microphone quality are infinitely better than anything else I've ever tried.
That headset is good until it's not. You could just buy a new one.
Otherwise, this is what I got Wyatt.
Price keeps going down, so get them while they're hot.
I use Fatality MK II, they are a gaming headset (that is why I have them) but they work just as well for music.
This is your best bet. Ignore the USB part of your request because any headset can be made USB for very cheap DAC's.
The majority of USB headsets ship with a low quality DAC anyway. So don't bother.
Grab one of these as well if you require USB.
That's a very high quality one, but you can go cheap if budget is an issue, and then upgrade later.
And here is my headset if that helps.
The Jabra Speak410 works great, but is a little pricey.
If you would like a more fancier model, consider the Harman Kardon model (more pricier obviously) : http://www.amazon.com/LG-Infinim-HBS-900-Wireless-Headset/dp/B00NW2JBYO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1454011273&sr=8-2&keywords=lg+tone

It's my old headset as I was having trouble with the Hyper X Cloud 2 microphone that I purchased so am having to return it. The way it is hung up is with a magnetic cable management puck that NZXT provide with the S340 elite case. I was surprised how useful I found it!
[Magnetic puck] (http://www.vortez.net/news_file/8791_nzxt%20s340%20elite%20-%20cable%20management%20puck.jpg)
I would suggest buying a plantronics, I was never disappointed and they don't seem to break. (I destroy headsets very quickly):D
Edit: https://www.amazon.de/Plantronics-GameCom-388-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00LNK4SJA/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1469295374&sr=1-5&keywords=plantronics+headset
maybe this one? I heave the bigger brother of this headset and I'm happy with it.
Logitech 250 but it seems to be discontinued
maybe try Logitech H250 or Logitech H230, one is $25 and the other is $15
edit: nvm on the Logitech H250, doesnt seem to be USB. Not sure about the other one either. But point is, that's the kind of headset you'll wanna look into if you want to spend $30ish or less. Just make sure it's USB and the reviews don't point out some glaring problem and you should be fine.
edit 2: try these instead: Logitech H390 and Logitech 350
Honestly, you could get much higher quality headphones for lower price. For instance the Sennheiser 161

What do you think about these? Plantronics Gamecom 388
About to buy the Monoprice+Zalman combo, just want last opinion on the Plantronics.

these are so excellent on the mic department that beat the pants out of much much more expensive solutions.
i have had couple of quality ones that cost 10 times as much and still do not have as good a mic.
Yeah I had a hard time wording this.
The GVC3200 is a complete "stand alone" SIP user agent and it, some what strangely, even has a built in microphone. The only thing it doesn't have is a speaker. So you need some kind of speaker for output, whether that is a USB, or a bluetooth speaker - and as I said, it does not have to be the GAC2500, it could be some thing like the jabra usb speaker, but since it comes with the GAC2500, I dont know why you wouldnt just use that.
Mostly I was trying to indicate that the GVC3200 itself is a complete SIP endpoint (lacking a speaker) and that it dont depend on the the GAC2500 for any type of "user agent behaviour".
The program that I have to use for work requires jack specifically, but the headset I use, and have used, is USB and requires USB to be powered, thus the need to split it

i have a pair of Plantronics Gamecom 380 which im selling used for £12
Does anyone have experience with this headset?

Going to be used for gaming/listening to music at home
I use a Logitech mic similar (don't know the exact model number) to this one: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Stereo-Headset-H250-981-000353/dp/B005DKZTLW/ref=sr_1_20?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1464539373&sr=1-20&keywords=logitech+mic+headset
Although, mine was about $20 cheaper, but it still gets the job done.
This is the Bluetooth headset I use:

They have brought out new models. one and another
I have these. Used for about a month, still in box.

So, right now i'm trying to justify a reason to buy these.. Will I notice a difference if I purchase these and connect them to my PC?
Right now I'm using these:

Also, it says these will ship within 3-5 weeks for those of you who haven't noticed
I really like my creative labs fatal1ty. I can play for hours, and have no pain on my ears. Plus the sound is pristine.
I have some smashed and taped back together Logitech H530s. I've had them for years and they still work fine even though I've broken most of the casing. They're $36 on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Headset-Premium-Laser-Tuned-981-000195/dp/B003NREDG4
I got this one: http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Audio-355-Multimedia-Headset/dp/B001J30FZM/ref=pd_sim_e_4
Works good, no complaints.
I use these: http://www.amazon.com/AKG-K702-Headphones/dp/B001RCD2DW

I CRINGE AT THE SOUND QUALITY. The reviewers must be shit stoned crazy because holy crap, they sound like tin cans. 4 stars 86 reviews. No.
TDLR: get a decent set of headphones otherwise they will sound like shit.
I heard these are good [http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gaming-Headset/dp/B002Q8IHDQ], but until I put them on and test them, I am not buying another set of headphones
I would get this and a TRRS Splitter.
This has an inline mic if that is a problem.
Here are 2 more options that are from the same company that don't fall victim (to the same extent) to the gaming stereotype as others. 1 2
Comfortable, durable, well-sounding headset for about 15$ dollars less.
I'm hard of hearing/practically deaf. I can wear these all day, and often forget I have them on, they are THAT comfy. The sound is... loud. And they are durable. Trust me, I go through headsets like... someone who is crazy about something goes... through those. Potatoes, irishmen, but less racist.
Anyway, this is a good headset.
Cheap good sound quality. mic, hasnt been something i test much.. but i can sound check if you want.
only problem i have with it is the fact that it sits on ear rather than around it. so if you have sensitive ears, it will hurt after a few hours..
655.

it also cancels out background noises ;)
