The best solution you can get for printing PETG without any warping is a glass bed with PVA glue. I would highly recommend getting a borosilicate (Pyrex) glass plate. Borosilicate glass has a VERY low coefficient for thermal expansion so it extremely resistant to thermal shock and the breakage that comes with it. I had the piece of glass for my CR-10 cut to size at a local glass shop as glass beds were not offered anywhere for the CR-10 at the time. However now you can go on Amazon and pay a very reasonable price for a nice glass bed. Such as this which is less than half the price that I had to pay about two years ago. Ooof!
Take your glass sheet and attach it directly on top of the metal heated bed that the CR-10 has with binder clips. It is a very simple but extremely effective way to keep the glass tightly attached without issue while also allowing a quick and simple process for removing prints and swapping print surfaces.
Then, it is time for the star of the show, the PVA glue! Now, before you get intimidated by the exotic sounding glue (like I did when I first heard about having to use it), just know that it is literally just Elmer's Disappearing Purple Gluestick. This is seriously one of the BEST tools for anyone who prints somewhat exotic or finicky materials. Uncap the glue and evenly coat the glass with a light coating and you are ready to go. When I say light, I mean just one pass over each spot, do not do more than one coat, that one coat is plenty! The best part is that it is disappearing, so when you apply the glue and it still has a bit of moisture, it is a dark purple, however once it sits for about 30 seconds on a bed that is heating up it loses its color and becomes more translucent so you can see exactly what parts of the bed are coated well and which parts you may need to touch up. When the glue has lost its color and the glass looks like it is a bit hazy or foggy then you are ready to print!
PETG can be a bit tricky to print if you are coming from PLA but it is very rewarding once you dial it in.
I would suggest that you either use a low fan setting of 25% or less (except when bridging which should be 100%) or do not use the fan at all (again unless bridging). PETG is a material that wants to stay hot and slowly cool on its own. It does not like to be hit with a fan instantly after being laid down like PLA. PETG actually fuses itself together at the layers which makes it have extremely strong layer adhesion, whereas a properly formed PETG print cannot be separated at the layer lines because of this fusing effect. (This is why you NEVER print PETG directly onto PEI as it can fuse with the PEI and tear the PEI off of the bed.)

I would also suggest that you run a hotter bed temperature. I personally print PETG with a bed temp between 85 and 100, depending on the brand of PETG I am using.
There is one VERY important end of print step to safely and successfully print PETG. When the print is finished, DO NOT let the bed cool to ambient temperature while the print is still attached! You MUST set your end of G Code to reduce the bed temperature to about 60% of the temperature it was while printing. This is a very important step so that your piece does not break your glass bed! This is especially important as the printed pieces get larger and have a larger contact surface with the bed. If you allow the print and glass bed to cool to ambient on their own then you are dramatically increasing the chance that the print will cool too rapidly and shrink while still attached to the glass and end up breaking the glass.
This may seem like a lot of things to do to print PETG but when you see the final result and how strong and beautiful PETG can be printed it is all well worth the effort.

One final tip about PETG is that it is very hygroscopic (not as bad as Nylon but still noticeable and much worse than PLA) and needs to be taken care of for it to print well. PETG needs to be stored in airtight bags with desiccant packs while it is being stored. PETG should never be left out in the open air for longer than it needs to be. If the roll is not currently supplying a print then it MUST be stored properly. If you allow your PETG to sit out and absorb the water from the air, it will print very poorly and never give good results. If you are printing PETG and can hear a crackling or hissing sound at the nozzle, then your PETG is too wet and needs to be fixed! The crackling and hissing sound that can be heard is the water that has been absorbed by the PETG being instantly boiled and turned to steam when it hits the hotend. This is most noticeable with Nylon but poorly kept PETG will also exhibit this same behavior.

If you have any questions or need me to clarify something please ask and I will gladly do my best to help! PETG is well worth the hassle and learning curve as the results that can be achieved with it are truly amazing.
I get all my fleece from JoAnn stores. They often have fleece at 50% off per yard, so you can buy it in bulk and use it as needed. Any large fabric store will have lots of fleece in stock (I just prefer JoAnn because that's the best one I have in the area I live in). I'm sure you know this already, but just in case, please don't use cedar or pine chips as bedding for your rats; it's harmful to them. You can use fleece or aspen chip bedding (but freeze the aspen for 48 hours prior to use to make sure it's free of parasites).
I buy many rat toys on Amazon, and make some myself. If you're buying any kind of wooden rat toy, do be aware that many of them are made from soft woods like pine and cedar, which are super bad for rat respiratory systems. Hardwood toys are usually safe—just make sure it's not a combination wood that also has pine or cedar in it along with the hardwood. I personally do not buy wood toys on amazon, because the products often don't list what kind of wood they're made of. The only wood product I buy on Amazon is bags of untreated apple branch chewing sticks. I'll link you to some rat-safe toys and accessories I buy on amazon below! :)

I buy Harlan Teklad (Envigo) food blocks for my rats, which is one of the top two for rats (the other is Oxbow Regal Rat). Harland Teklad is hard to find though, so I buy mine through this animal rescue:
http://weecompanions.org/healthy-food
If you get these blocks, freeze them to extend their shelf life, and take them out from the freezer as needed to fill your ratties' bowls. Harlan Teklad is great because they have several formulas for rats based on their age, which is super helpful for their health. Young rats up to 8 months usually eat Harlan Teklad 2016 (16% protein), and after 8 months they eat Harlan Teklad 2014 (14% protein).
Also, I don't have a link for this, but the best laundry detergents to use to wash your rats' cloth toys or bedding with is one that's non-scented and is sensitive on skins.
Um, if I think of anything else, I'll add it. But for now, it's already a ton. :P Enjoy!
(And feel free to message me if you have any questions!)
You gotta clamp it down to the bed, or it'll move during printing. I use the smallest of binder clips on the corners and it works great.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0794VN392/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_sf9jDbYPTHPDX
Also, I've tried most of the adhesion solutions out there and I've had the best luck with hairspray as an adhesive. Specifically Aqua Net hairspray. Or if you can't find that, some kind of super duper ultra level 10 Hold hairspray. I print PLA, PETG, and even polycarbonate and it works great. I get a nice, flat glossy finish on the bed side of the print.
Yes, the glass is super conductive to heat and I use the same heat temps that I would use if I printed straight to the bed. As a matter of fact I rarely go above 50C on any of the filaments I mentioned above with success. I credit the glass to distribute the heat more evenly across the surface compared to the hot spots /cool spots you'll get with the aluminum bed alone.
Now, one caveat of using glass is that you're adding more weight to the bed and at higher print speeds and with the Y axis jerking back and forth, you'll see imperfections in your print of you don't have the printer's frame good and tight. I don't have all those cool frame upgrades on mine like a lot of folks do because I aim more for finish quality than speed, so I rarely get above 65mm/s on any print on the Anet.
I have a larger CoreXY that I built that I can get up above 100mm/s with good results but I rarely run it that high either. My benefits from it are larger build area.
The only improvements I've made to the A8 aside from a better power supply and Mosfet for the heat bed for safety, is the glass bed, a Bowden extruder, belt tensioners and these little guys :
Base Attachment Anet A8 found on #Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2123364
Those base clamps produced the biggest improvement in my prints of anything I've done.(As far as frame stability is concerned)
I bought a cheap Ikea table and screwed the A8 down to it and now the whole thing is rock solid.
I get really nice stuff from my little A8 and I've had it 3 years now. I bought it when you could only get them from China, before they were available on Amazon.
If I had it to do over again the only thing i would change is probably the Bowden system. It's a bit of overkill for my needs since I'm not looking for more speed. But it is easier to load filament into than the stock extruder.
Please know these things I've suggested have helped me, but your mileage may vary depending on your printing needs. There are tons of opinions of what is best and what is not as far as upgrades.
Some details:
I’m an engineer who has never been totally satisfied with notepad offerings for academic or professional use. Some of the characteristics that I have been looking for, in no particular order:
Not finding all of these characteristics in a given notebook (though, Rhodia came dangerously close, but a bit too expensive to commit to for a consistent set of notebooks to last a lifetime), I designed my own.
First, I explored binding options and found the GBC ProClick P50 (for a good deal) to punch the sheets to allow the type of binding I wanted. This gave me the binding pitch, so I designed the front and rear cover and sent the design to my friendly local machine shop. After what is likely excessive consideration, I ended up electing to use 1/32” sheets of Aluminum 6061 to save weight and after having felt it to convince myself that it would be sufficiently “build-it-for-life.” The shop turned the covers around quite quickly and put a nice jitterbug finish on a side that came polished it to help hide the eventual wear from sliding in/out of bags and to take the edge off the corners. The other side wears a monodirectional brushed finish.
From there, I created a Python script to automate the creation of a PDF for my pages which are numbered and scaled to have the grid and line weights/colors I wanted. I also added my name to each page as well as a field for the date and room to give it a central label. I opted to go with subtle dots since I tend to find a grid somewhat distracting (however, the script can create either pattern, as desired). I also included an option to swap the page numbers from side-to-side so that I can print the sheets double-sided and then insert them into protective sleeves in a binder (if I want to archive the notes). Along those lines, another option increases the margin (on the appropriate side) to accommodate hole punching while ensuring that a hole is NOT punched in the notes area. Lastly, the script can include memo text running down the right-hand margin which can be user-specified or derived from the fortune program.
I tried using the ProClick spines but even the largest didn’t give me the sheet capacity I wanted and the covers would tend to catch them unless the utmost care was used. This proved aggravating so I instead used some 3/4" “loose leaf rings” to bind everything together.
I filled every hole with a ring since I don’t plan to be removing or adding pages frequently; however, one could use just five rings for a symmetric and secure binding that would allow relatively rapid adding/removal of pages.
Thus, I have a notebook that is robust, a reasonable weight, meets my criteria, and should last a lifetime.
Hope this generates some interest and ideas.
I really recommend using paper minis if you're on a tight budget. If you have access to photoshop then they are incredibly easy to make from any image you can find for free on google. If not then Printable Heroes is a great resource for cool looking minis. You can contribute a small amount and get access to a ton of them but there are also a bunch of free ones here.
They don’t take long to put together, either. This video shows you the best way to assemble them. I would also ad that I use 3/4 inch binder clips for the base as they fit perfectly on the grid and are a bit cheaper than buying bases.
I also really recommend a Chessex Battle Mat in whatever size you think works for your game. Make sure you also buy wet erase markers as dry erase will seep into these maps and become permanent markings.
As far as landscapes go, I just draw any features of the map that can be seen on the ground on my map. I've never tried it but there are printable folding paper environments that you can make and use. I don't because I don't like having an obstructed view for me or the players.
I hope that helped!
Medium Crackers was actually what I was going to suggest. Crackers is wife's favorite.
For a sense of scale, the med crackers is the diameter of a soda can at it's thickest point.
Crackers and Xar (you'll also want him in a med for the same size range) are both fairly thick toys that aren't too long to fit in a female, and neither has any crazy texture or serious knot. I'd say either one would be a great first toy.
Also, do yourself a favor and make sure it has a suction cup. If you never use the suction, it was only an extra 10 bucks, but having it allows for some rather fun and clever uses.
Cum tube option is up to you. I haven't gotten one since I'm not really interested in having to do the extra work cleaning out the tube after use (and we use coconut oil for lube with the BDs... which wouldn't really go in the tube well without being warmed up first).
For bonus couples fun: This style of strap-on works well. If you're wanting to use toys with a small base and a large knot (Razor, Fenrir, Tucker, etc), then this style of metal o-ring should do the trick since you won't have to try to slip the ring over either the base or the knot.
Hangers with clips (Either alone or on the hanger). On the hanger is fun because you can usually slide them towards or away from each other, and the tension will hold them a bit in place.
Vice grips - the weight can be really satisfying
Binder clips - even better are the ones with the magnet on the end!
Alligator cilps
Jumper cables, but probably need some heavy padding.
Chopsticks and tight (small) rubber bands.
Almost anything with "clip" or "clamp" in the name. So, for instance, if you have those heavy-duty clamps that get used to hold down a tablecloth at an outdoor picnic, that can be fun. Or woodworking clamps.
There are also things you can do to up the intensity even with gentle things. Ex: after the clothespins have been on a while, turn them 90 degrees. Or go more for the edge of the nipple rather than the base. Or get a spatula/paddle and slap your nipples to get them tender first.
You can really have fun with anything that squeezes. I remember as a kid using two clipboards. It was tough to get the nipple in, but was a fun sensation.
Hope that gives you some ideas!
It's hard to pick something without knowing what she likes so I'll go generic!
I'm sorry if it wasn't too helpful. Maybe if you share some of your mom's hobbies I can get more specific. :)
If you enjoy my ideas, I would enjoy some Kitty bag clips.
Since you’ve already gotten quite a few responses to all your questions, I’ll answer some of them. I only started cross stitching in March so I’m still kind of a beginner myself although it feels like I’ve stitched for ages!
“Where can you buy nicer hoops for framing completed projects?”
The brand Darice makes really nice hoops, imo. A search on Etsy for “darice embroidery hoops” returns quite a few results.
“What are the top 3 things every cross-stitcher should own?”
A hoop stand to hold your project while you stitch (I have this stand and love it: http://www.michaels.com/loops-and-threads-adjustable-craft-stand/10232941.html#start=6), a magnetic line minder to hold your pattern and help you keep track of the line of stitches you’re working on (https://www.hobbylobby.com/Yarn-Needle-Art/Cross-Stitch/Floss-Thread/Magnetic-Line-Minder/p/34733), and binder rings to keep the bobbins of floss for each project together (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074PHZK89/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Ci7KBbKYXGMWC).
“Does anyone use a magnifying glass/light combo and if so, where would you purchase from?”
I have this light (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRU9SP0?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf) clipped to the top of my hoop stand and I absolutely love it. It has 3 different light colours and 2 light intensities for each light colour. It doesn’t really get hot and having the different light colours allows me to adjust the light for the floss colours/Aida colour of my project or depending on the time of day I’m stitching. I don’t have a magnifying glass yet.
“Any other tips for someone who has done 2-3 counted cross stitch patterns but is looking to improve skill?”
LOOP START!! My mother taught me to stitch and that’s the first thing she taught me. I’m always amazed when I read on reddit about people learning about loop start for the first time because I can’t imagine starting my stitches any other way. It only works when you’re use an even number of floss strands for your project. So if you’re wanting to use 2 strands of floss for your project, you only actually pull 1 strand from your floss, fold it in half and thread both ends into the eye of your needle, come in up the corner of your first stitch - but don’t pull your floss all the way through! - and then put the needle down through the floss loop on the back. Voila! Your floss is secured to your project. Also make sure you’re having fun! It’s not worth it to keep stitching when you’re frustrated by a pattern or lose interest in a pattern. Put the project down for a little while if you’re frustrated with the pattern or start a new pattern or work on another project if you lose interest in a pattern. It’s absolutely imperative that you have fun/enjoy yourself when you stitch.
I see you have 4" ducting but trust me you're definitely going to want to have this, thankfully 6" ducting isn't to expensive. Also buy these, so much easier than duct tape and these for managing the ducting. This and this too for supporting the inline fan and filter, the inline fan at full power will vibrate very slightly and I feel that the bungee cords help minimize vibration. I usually use zip ties for managing cords but also as a precautionary measure, I have a few loosely secured zip ties on my inline fans just in case a bungee cord were to become unsecured which that has never happened thankfully but you can never be to safe.
I use Google Drive to create my icons, as it is the least time consuming method I could think of. The end result is something along these lines, but with a thicker border to allow for easier cutting. Attach them to a binder clip and it works pretty well so far.
It took a little trial and error to get the right size but the icon above fits perfectly within a square grid. And the binder clip can be written on to easily identify the amount of a certain type of monster (5 zombies, for instance).
It's hard to tell unless you know what you will be given/already have in the room.
But I would say laminator + bulk pouches (I got like 500 3mil off Amazon) and a sturdy paper cutter. These are two things I use pretty regularly that no school would supply you. There are paper cutters in the staff room but my room is kind of far and it's nice to just have one nearby in a pinch.
I might also add magnetic squares. I was using sticky-tac for a while but it leaves a mark on the board and gets dirty. It's nice to have those squares that you can stick on things. I use them for my schedule cards. These magnet clips are also really nice too. Super strong and can hold up charts or whatever you need.
BECAUSE I'M IN A HOLLY JOLLY FRIGGEN MOOD
okay I'll calm down now. I just love everything about Christmas, but the last two years have been pretty crappy for me. I try to make the best of it, but the best part lately is booze filled hot cocoa and cookies.
here's 3 ideas:
one || two || three
That was a great video, thanks. I've had several recommendations for rubber bands. We'll probably try that next time. Certainly seems easier. I was also considering paper clips like these instead of attaching the combs at the top with string. These would have the advantage of being easier to put in and take out.
Hey, finally something I can answer from personal experience.
I was in a similar boat where I didn't want to sink a bunch of money into the game for a projector until I was sure the campaign was going to last a while.
You can get set up for months for about $45. If this is a problem see if your players can chip in $5-$10 each or something.
One inch grid paper is your friend. You can get 27x34 sheets of it off Amazon for about 32 cents a sheet ($31.99 for 100 sheets )
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AQDGJRO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_iIo4AbG33KRFC
For minis you can use paper as well. I recommend getting 1" binder clips and printing off your own minis. You can buy 144 of these off of Amazon for $11
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2WB1RL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jRo4Ab0QTWK5S
I used Publisher, but there's a free version called Libre Office Draw. Make a bunch of 3x1 squares in it on an normal sheet of paper and put in images from Google for all of your monsters. You'll want to make them double-sided so the paper sticks up (One row right side down and the other right side up).
You can fit a lot on one sheet of paper. Then print them off either at home, work/school if they allow it, or do it at a print store for less than a dollar.
Let me know if you have any questions.
They're binder rings! They came with the metal bars to hold them together, but I find them really annoying to look through that way. I got them in a set at Target, some of them are way too small to use conveniently but I love the way they look. This set on Amazon has an excessive amount haha but would be perfect, if you don't see them elsewhere. :D
This is the funniest prank I've ever seen. Sorry if anyone already posted these items, I'm too tired to check -
pink is the new black!
I use a lot of recycled materials (primarily plastic cups, containers, etc) for paint mixing or creating new tones for my pigments. For example I use a lot of these disposable contact lens containers for paint pots.

I find Binder Clips to be helpful sometimes or Alligator Clipsto hold things together.

I use blue masking tape a ton by folding it so it is sticking up and holding small pieces so they won't fly away when I airbrush them.

Lastly, I love my toothpicks and non-hardening clay technique for painting wheels and other items

*OP, just want to say this is a great post and I just bookmarked it/added a tone of things to my amazon wishlist.
Good PSA. I keep mine in the original plastic packing, roll the top, then put a binder clip on to hold it. In fact, our kitchen has tons of those binder clips because they make great closers for items in the cupboard and freezer alike.
What I would recommend doing is making your own covers by cutting the right size out of art board (craft stores usually have a wall of different thicknesses) and attaching the postcards and then buying looseleaf paper from the office store (like this or something similar) and then putting holes through everything and binding them with book rings like these. The rings can be opened up to add new or more paper. You might need to make the cover a little larger than the postcards because most of the small paper seems to be 6 3/4 by 3 3/4 but I think it would still look nice. I did something similar for a memory book type of thing I made for my brother when he bought his house and it worked really well!
Thing is, your bulk container will invariably be smaller than the bag the lentils or rice or beans came in. So now you end up with beans in 3 containers, a small one, a bulk one, and original packaging.
Instead secure the original packaging using large binder clips like this one
"Free" office supplies are also a source of binder clips ;)
DO NOT SPEND $30 BUCKS ON THIS!!! SPEND ABOUT $10!
If you got a Dollar Tree or other Dollar store nearby go check it out. I got 2 packs of ID badges retractors which came 3 to a pack. I bought 2 packs of Carabiners which were 3 to a pack, and then mounted them using large Office Binder clips and a piece of a thin strip of sheet metal which was screwed on both sides which were longer then the Office Binder clips and secured them to the ceiling. I then used the Carabiner to attach to the "wings" of the office Binder clip, and the keyring that came on the Carabiner then allowed the ID badge to clip onto it. On the bottom of the ID badge retractor I used a second Carabiner.
This is what the ID badge retractors look liked

Office Binder Clip
https://www.amazon.com/CRUODA-Office-Black-Binder-Folder/dp/B073XDZSL8
It was cheap as fuck to make and they work excellent. If you don't have any sheet metal just cut up a pop can, and make sure the strips are longer then the length of the Office Binder Clip, thread it through the clip, and then screw it up into the ceiling on both sides.
I also made pretty cheap sensor mounts if anyone is interested.
Here's a great add-on item :)
The cheapest and easiest are folder clips like these. Just take off the levers, turn 'em upside down, clip the paper mini in.
There was a plastic one that someone linked in another thread the other day but I can't remember the name of them. They had cardboard inserts that seemed pretty spiffy.
Or you could just use this: https://monsterforge.org/minis/
Didn't know if you knew about this guy: $0.58 Paper Clips to be used for Add-on
Only for if you find yourself just under the threshold for minimum shipping and don't want to pay shipping or buy a more expensive item to get free shipping.

What size binder clips are you using? Is the bed free to move still up and down?
The bed needs to be free to click down in order for the autoleveling to function. I noticed that when I tried using "mini" binder clips, the bed was unable to move freely in order to trigger the button that the autoleveling routine uses to check whether the tool head is in contact with the base. Sure enough the nozzle would just slam into the glass bed using this.
What you need are "micro" binder clips. This will still let the bed move freely and autolevel correctly. I am not sure what country you are in, but these are the ones available in the US I got.
looks good, protip for next time, these binder clips work just as well for holding minis up, and are made of heavy metal, so they don't blow over or get dislodged easily

Garden Sprayer+Misting Hose+Binder Clips+Canopy
Get hot? Just turn on the "AC." It's easy to go through a ton of water if you are blasting it constantly, but periodic 10 second bursts are really all you need. We never used more than one tank per day, if that. Detach the misting hose and the sprayer then doubles as a camping shower, just invest in a cheapo privacy tent.
We also use one or two tapestries for shade, just make sure to clip them with about a foot off the ground to maintain the breeze.
Something like this is intended for use with miniatures, so it'll be similar to the kinds you'd buy once you have minis...
But I would recommend making standees like these. All you need is binder clips and paper. No glue, they just naturally clamp closed around paper. Couldn't be simpler. Printer and scissors. I personally prefer them to minis.
The BEST bag clips ever made are binder clips. They are metal, but they hold everything well, & come in several sizes.
ACCO Binder Clips, Large, 1 Box, 12 Clips/Box (72100) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VD6BLG/ref=cm\_sw\_r\_cp\_taa\_LFB7BbWGKWT3M
Amazon has Festival Clips, I’m sure there are different styles and colors, if you can’t get those attached.
I bought these large binder clips and had them on my pack. Worked great, never lost socks.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002VD6BLG/ref=sr_rp_1?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ie=UTF8&qid=1458326097&sr=sr-1&keywords=binder+clips
I use this kind of bag instead of the floss away ones. I get them from craft stores. They have a write on strip and a hole punched in the top. I write the floss number on the bag, pop the floss in and hang it on a 3 inch binder ring. I keep them in numerical order rather than colour families as I mostly use patterns. If you design your own, I would think that arrangement by colour would make more sense.
I have about 75 bags on a ring. When one starts to get full I split it and start a new ring so I have one ring with floss numbers 0-100 (I don’t have every floss colour...yet) and another with 101-200 etc.
Works for me. I hang them on a hanger in the closet when I’m not using them. When I have an active project, I take the colours I’m using and put their bags on another ring so I have an “active” ring.
Garbage Can
Large Binder Clips these are great for attaching things to your shade tent.
String, jumper cables, duct tape, mallet, tarp.
My female Lovebird breaks out of every cage that has this type of door. Since she started plucking her mates head feathers I had to separate them, which doesn't work if she opens the doors herself.
I used "binder clips" to keep her locked in. She did get the handles of the clips off (not sure how she did that) but the clip itself stayed in place. Not sure if it's helpful with a cockatoo.
Three ring binders the kind with transparent pockets on at least the outside - your DM can print anything they need and slip in those pockets (this is usually the player's side so you may want to suggest the things you frequently look up as fodder for this side). The ring binder side I usually load with a few page holders (transparent plastic pockets) and as DM I load these with printouts of the things I need to look up frequently as a DM).
You can put multiple binders (at least two) together so that they help each other stand up - I usually make them stick together by using those 'pinch style' paper clips... ACCO Binder Clips you see them in this link
https://www.amazon.com/ACCO-Binder-Clips-Small-72020/dp/B005W8NSYK
You can remove the wings once the binders are clamped together. :D
a d clip should hold his cage door shut. you might want to go with one of those fancy wire clips they have for laundry / hipster chip bags (just make sure it doesn't have a coating on it that he could chew off).
he is bored; bored as fuck. give him shit to do / think about:
get him lots of safe things to chew, lots of stuff to tunnel with, change out a toy each day, see if the wheel can attach to the bars & move it so it can't get filled (though some gerbils just don't like wheels), get some gerbil playpens & a sheet or something & shape it into mazes / interesting terrain with tunnels he can explore, add a bit of variety to their diet/treats rotation (look up what's safe on the sidebar's links), teach him tricks, introduce him to new scents.
dunno about introducing another gerb, i never had to deal with that. i did see someone using a soft, childrens' toothbrush to simulate another gerbil grooming their pet. give him a treat and pet him with the bristles a bit, see how he likes it.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074YMKKLK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_.MDBDbHBEP9SC
I've used binder clips. Put a piece of paper in it, then take off the metal pieces.
Turns out pretty nice ^(not my pic), and the little ones are only about 3/4 inch wide.
Well naturally you'd need [a tutu] (http://www.amazon.com/Leg-Avenue-Organza-Tutu-Neon/dp/B004282W2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945117&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+tutu), and matching [knee high socks] (http://www.amazon.com/Large-Baseball-Softball-Athletic-All-Sport/dp/B009K7ALK8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945225&sr=8-6&keywords=pink+knee+high+socks).
But after that, I'd go with [a tape dispenser] (http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Dispenser-Magic-Inches-C30-SHOE-H/dp/B0086ZL1E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [post-its] (http://www.amazon.com/Post--Pop-up-Notes-Dispenser-3-Inch/dp/B004JCT47U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-3&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [hole punch] (http://www.amazon.com/Swingline-3-Hole-Paper-Manual-S7099901/dp/B004OQ84N6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-4&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [paper clips] (http://www.amazon.com/Officemate-Breast-Cancer-Awareness-08908/dp/B0040FFNXK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-9&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [stapler] (http://www.amazon.com/SilverHooks-Pink-Crystal-Stapler/dp/B005XE5KLM/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945385&sr=8-25&keywords=pink+office+supplies), and absolutely 1000000000% [this calculator] (http://www.amazon.com/Amico-Yellow-Keypad-Electronic-Calculator/dp/B00ARBUXOU/ref=sr_1_135?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945506&sr=8-135&keywords=pink+office+supplies).

I use those teeny-tiny binder clips (like these) for securing sample packets (and leftover sheet mask essence) between uses.
You need to put some weight on the hanging film. I use this to hang my drying films, and this on the end of each individual film.
Each film is different also, some tend to curl more than others, or band in the middle. After my film is totally dry I cut them into manageable strips and then inside a nice heavy book overnight, then on to scanning.....
I feel like this is an upside, usually a pain breaking the clasp.
You can go to will call and they probably would give you a replacement for a price.
Or you can buy a replacement like this :
https://www.amazon.com/Festival-Clips-Wrist-Bands-Rainbow/dp/B074YMKKLK
I use a stack of index cards, often with a small binder clip to hold them together.
Combined with a small pen that I pretty much always carry, I always know where my lists are, I can write down anything that strikes me, and since they're index cards (and not a notebook), I can easily shuffle my multiple lists.
I'll often have a "work stuff", "stuff today at home", and a "stuff this week at home" lists (at a minimum) going at the same time.
I've also tried every electronic to-do app, and they just don't work for me.
Whenever I have a minute and think "what should I do now", I just check my cards.
Not ideal, but you can get by with Binder clips. They give you a flat base to stand the pawns on and are removable. Downside is you'd either need to remove the arms or accept having the art partly covered.
Example of what I mean:
https://www.amazon.com/ACCO-Binder-Clips-Large-72100/dp/B002VD6BLG
Dont pay them for another band its a huge rip off.
Get this
or jerry rig something to make it stay on, but its def not worth paying to just replace your band.
I've just been using these hooked on the lip of my dresser and loop the cords through the metal arms.
They do have a name, but it's not "alligator clips." They're binder clips. Bulldog clips are yet another type of clip.
I get binder rings and make a little book, similar to this one.
I used these, I break/cut off the plastic locks on them and put these clips on. They are adjustable somewhat
I don't carry cash, just ID and payment cards with one of these, I get 12 for $5 so it's pretty economical.
https://www.amazon.com/ACCO-Binder-Clips-Large-72100/dp/B002VD6BLG
I get mine on ebay from the seller city-green. They ship from NJ, and I always get them a couple days later (granted I am in PA). You get 150 for 9.99.
ETA: I keep my sticks on 3 inch binder rings, organized by brand and color.
$2 gets you 12 binder clips.
Before I had stands for my pathfinder pawns I used these
You can put the pawn in the clip and detach the metal bits until you are done.

I have a bunch of cheap binder clips for holding large pieces in place. If I don't trust the glue, I just remove them individually as I sew.
I haven't tried the clover clips but I use regular binder clips most of the time. They don't leave any little holes and I'm not about to accidentally have one go under my foot and risk breaking a needle.
I always go for personal stuff. So my Carcassonne set has the roads and monasteries themed after the Super Mario Brothers 3 world maps. The castle pieces didn't play nice with 8bit aesthetics so I kept the wobbly shapes and just filled them in with things we've done together, movies we've seen, dates we've been on, etc so that when a castle is built it's made out of our relationship. Which is WAAAY more symbolic and sweet than I intended it to be originally when I panicked after my Mario Brothers plan went to shit. Bought a little wooden chest with a latch for piece storage and burned the score track onto the top of it.
Catan will probably be similar in nature. I just haven't sourced out the wooden hexes yet or planned out if I'm using actual Catan cards or getting my own printed, etc. She likes Breaking Bad a lot, maybe I'll make an island based around meth production.
One of the things I found helped me with my versatool was using a large binder clip on the edge of my table. If you squeeze the little shiney wing you can take it off of the body, slip it around the cord, then reattach it to the body of the clip so that it acts like a catch for the rheostat.
8 hours!? YOU'RE AN ANIMAL! A MACHINE! If you've got about $10 go pick up a crappy burner from WalMart and try it out. At the very least you'll be able to identify if your versatool is holding you back or if you just have a slow, methodical pace.
>and banning large clips
Why would you want to ban these
I use the silver part of a small binder clip with the prongs bent down.
