If it's vinyl, just throw it away and get a cloth shower liner. They are more expensive than vinyl, but only about $9. They work just as well at keeping water in. They wash just like a towel would, just throw it in the machine. I know walmart sells them. Here's one at amazon

I wash mine every two weeks, it's lasted 10 years so far, still looks great.

CRAIGSLIST. My entire apartment, with the exception of one tiny side table, was furnished via Craigslist/thrift stores/dumpster-diving/hand-me-downs from friends and parents.

If the place doesn't have a shower curtain/curtain rings, make sure you bring them on move-in day! I've been burned on this too many times -- nothing worse than going to shower after an exhausting sweaty day of moving, only to realize your bathtub is curtain-less! I'm partial to nice fabric ones like this, because they're washable, long-lasting, and they don't float around and stick to your leg like cheap vinyl ones, but whatever floats your boat.

Generally, it's a good idea to pack a "Day 1" bag that holds all the things you'll need right away -- a couple changes of clothes, a set of clean sheets, PJs, toiletries, a couple of towels, chargers for whatever devices you use on a daily basis, toilet paper, any daily medication or allergy stuff (if dust makes you sneeze) -- basically, all the stuff you'll want to have at hand on your first night in the new place. This saves you from running around in a panic, tearing open boxes in a desperate search for something crucial!

When she takes organic chemistry she'll need to learn about dozens upon dozens of reactions and rather than having to write them all down on the wall, she can just stick paper/phone/tablet in between the slots to learn them while showering. This is how I got through my O chem.

Realistically you don't even use most of the periodic table as a chemistry major. You learn about trends and such but the things that are actually useful (like atomic mass) are learned through sheer repetition.

Also, get her started on memorizing the amino acids if she's interested in biochemistry :P

I think my memory was bad and it was around $40. It was one very similar to this. The one I bought does not have a wonderful dpi (or whatever the projection equivalent is) and is not bright enough for daytime light, but on the frosted shower curtain with this video at night it works great!

Just about any frosted shower curtain will work, but I’ll see if I can find a link to the specific one I bought. here’s the one I bought that worked so well.

Lots of great info here and I had the same problem. Get this shower curtain and it helps drastically with the pull of the shower curtain.

So in our shower the rod is almost to the ceiling. I needed a curtain that was 84" long and 72" wide. I could not find one. I looked and looked and looked. The only ones I could find that size were liners. I got a nicer fabric liner. I know its not clear but its light enough that it lets a fair amount of light through and its fabric so it doesn't feel garbage baggy and you can wash it. Then I just got some cute, long curtain panels from IKEA and hung them on the ends of the rod to add color. I think they were 92" long so I had to hem them a bit.

Odd sized showers suck. I haven't redone our master bath shower because its an odd size and I can't find a shower pan for it. It's going to have to be poured and tiled and that is beyond my ability and time.
