Alright, I'm gonna try to answer all of your questions to the best of my ability. So if I'm wrong, someone correct me.

  1. The only thing you really need to fix are the belts. They go for around 10-20 depending on where you buy from. They break around 200-400 miles of riding so it's not that expensive. Links for some examples are listed below

    https://www.amazon.com/Boosted-Board-Belts-Factory-Quality/dp/B07L3DP6SM/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=boosted+belts&qid=1554994183&s=gateway&sr=8-4

    https://boostedboards.com/accessories/motor-belt-service-kit

The one on boosted's site is a little more expensive but they also come with some extra screws for the motor caps and a hex key. If say a motor breaks or your battery starts to malfunction, you can email boosted support, and they'll usually repair it for you and send it back in a reasonable amount of time for free.

  2. You will get around at least 11-13 miles. It also would depend on what board you get and the amount of power your board supplies.

  3. If you don't ride it in the rain, a few puddles won't damage the board. I wouldn't suggest washing it with water, but using wet towels to wipe it down won't affect the board.

  4. I have had a V2 board for 2 years and aside from a few scratches, the board doesn't appear to be rusting.

  5. Ok, so this is completely up to you. If you want to get at least 13km of range, I would suggest getting the mini x, plus, or stealth. While the If you want a more relaxed ride with a lot of flat roads, I would go for the stealth or plus. If your commute consists of tight turns and you like to carve a lot, get the mini x.

  6. The app allows you to track the total number of miles and allows you to be able to record your trips. You can also change the speed of your board on your phone or your remote and the app actually calculates how far you'll be able to travel according to your height and weight.

  7. No

Overall, like u/stubrauer said, if you buy cheap boards, it won't be great and it won't last long. My board has been immensely helpful for my commutes and is really an impressive piece of technology. They focus really on quality and making it a long-lasting product. Do not buy another cheap knock off. Save up money and go for a boosted board. You won't be disappointed.
u/Eloykwik · 1 pointr/NewSkaters

I've been skating for a while and more or less have only been skating transition for the past 6 years-ish. Mainly I started just where you are with some rather large (I would call) street wheels. For transition I found that the lager wheels tend to help build some speed and the softer they are the better they grip on concrete. So currently I've been riding these which are 60mm 85a wheels. I know 60mm is REALLY big jump but I've found they help launch my fatass better than 58mm. These wheels are ninja like on just about every riding surface.

As a last FYI if you decide to go anywhere in the 56-60mm range of sizes I would recommend riser pads, and for the 60mm+ wheels you may need to be looking in the longboard section, I have some 0.25" risers with my powells and they work pretty great, minimal wheel bite.

Last last thing: If you move to flat edge wheels stray from febels, smiths, Willie grinds, really anything that will put stress on the inside of the wheel. (I've ripped the wheel off the core of some 60mm 85a OJ's)

u/neurospex · 2 pointsr/NewSkaters

Okay, here is a post where I explained what to look for and why: https://www.reddit.com/r/NewSkaters/comments/51rmtk/setup_check_again_im_sorry_just_want_to_make_sure/d7eah52?st=isujm8ct&sh=8bb27ef2

I hope that helps! I also didn't like the blue, but it was the best I could find on that site. I can poke around on Amazon as well and will get back to you if I see anything. The most popular wheel on this subreddit right now are the 92a 55mm Ricta Clouds, but they seem to be very expensive in Europe.

These are my favorite wheels in 56mm: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spitfire-Formula-Classic-Skateboard-Wheels/dp/B00J7T0SSY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473351119&sr=8-1&keywords=spitfire%2Bformula%2Bfour&psc=1

The 56mm makes up a bit for the hardness, but they are slightly harsh for some of the newer skaters.

They do make some slightly softer ones: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spitfire-Formula-Wheels-Classic-Skateboard/dp/B00J7T0N16/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473351119&sr=8-2&keywords=spitfire%2Bformula%2Bfour&psc=1

This is the best I could find for Ricta Clouds from the sites you mentioned: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ricta-Clouds-Skateboard-Wheels-White/dp/B01J9RQ0LC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1473351053&sr=8-3&keywords=ricta+clouds+54mm

What color of the caliber v2 trucks do y'all think would go well with the 77a blue Caguamas? I'm gonna be putting it on a deck that is just wood colored on the bottom. I'll change the griptape in the future, but for now it's just black. I like the lavender, sea foam, and coral colors, but part of me wants to play it safe and just go with the Smoke color or the white/gold. There will be bones reds in the blue/green caguamas too, but they won't be too noticeable. I like the bright colors. Thanks for the help.

Buy a skateboard, it's awesome 90% of the time. It can kinda suck when it rains or is windy though. But, the freedom of skating around on campus is one of the best things ever. Make sure you buy Bone Swiss Bearings if you get a board. I promise, this is the best decision you can make if you decide to skate. No other bearing set comes close.

u/firedupfarm · 2 pointsr/XWingTMG

I wouldn't order those 3/16" bearings. They are stainless steel and stainless is many times non-magnetic. Here are the bearings I ordered:

3/16": https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BBD4P4

1/4": https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012LHL9O

I didn't order 3/8" but that link you provided is probably fine for those.

I ordered 1/4" because according to the chart in the KJ blog post, it looked like the 1/4" bearing fit the 3/8" magnet better to me. I haven't installed a large ship yet though so I don't know if 1/4" is a better option (and I expect that it isn't since everyone seems to use the 3/8")

People are going to lynch me for saying this, but if you really are just cruising on this board and not wanting to freeride/do any kind of tricks, Gullwing Sidewinders are so much smooth delightful fun to ride and carve on. They're the double kingpins, as observed here: http://www.amazon.com/Gullwing-Sidewinder-Truck-Silver-10-Inch/dp/B009ZC92L2

Seriously man, they offer a beautiful ride.

u/BadasteroidCoE · 1 pointr/NewSkaters

What type of skating are you looking to get into? Street or Vert? Do you have a local skate shop near you? Usually you can get a blank deck much cheaper from a shop. Otherwise check out the links below, you will need all 3. Keep in mind, these are generic parts and might not have the best quality but will get the job done to learn. If you want to add some style to a blank deck just spray paint something on it. Come up with your own design. Building your own board will give you a sense of accomplishment and help motivate you to skate.

Most on this subreddit use GT5000 grip tape but that didn't have prime shipping and i'm impatient so I got this Grip Tape instead. Works great so far and I think it will serve my sweaty hands much better than the original coating.

Recommendation: replace axle, nuts.
Axle, nuts, bearing cups that I used when I had bearing problems on my fg:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012ZOTQ8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
New bearings are also a good idea, just measure them. Mine were 1/4", got 100 for $6. linky
A cone wrench makes life easier when replacing the axles, as you need a thin wrench. They're also good for taking off pedals if a standard crescent is too wide. linky
Shop around, these links are just jumping off points, check nashbar and others. I also got Phil bearing grease for repacking the bearings because multiple shops recommended it. Doing this yourself is really fun, and helps you know more of your bike.

u/likewut · 1 pointr/weightroom

Grip is one of the more over-trained things. It's really tough to program for - there is no consensus on beneficial grip routines. Benni Magnusson had grip problems for years, until he started strapping up on all but his heaviest sets. For him, he wasn't making gains on his grip because he was doing too much.

If you can't use chalk, Purell hand sanitizer will help. It gets rid of some of the oils on your hand.
Also, taping your index finger and thumb (with athletic tape or, preferably, golfer's tape) helps a lot too.
Lastly, on the hook grip, make sure you're really squeezing the hell out of your thumb.

u/iambush · 1 pointr/ElectricScooters

You can absolutely make it go with just your leg power. It’s tougher though then if you did the same thing with a regular scooter because electric scooters are a lot heavier. So I probably wouldn’t want to take trips on this thing kicking it around but if you wanted to practice going up and down the street with it off, there’s nothing stopping you for sure. Note that I don’t think the electric break will work unless it’s turned on; so you’ll need to use the manual foot break on the back like a regular scooter.

Edit: oh, and I just ordered some black generic black grip tape from amazon. ZUEXT 11" x 44" Skateboard Grip... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0755WLVT2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/Markbuar · 1 pointr/golf

I used to use gloves, but they irritate my skin. I would prefer one, but it's not worth the discomfort for weeks to come. So I found some golfer's tape, and I wrap all the fingers other than my thumb on my left hand. It works well for me, even on hot days. The tape is nice and stretchy, but I can go a whole round with just one small piece on each of the aforementioned fingers.

Link to tape: http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Lightweight-Conforming-Protective-stretched/dp/B000U0D4TE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410291115&sr=8-1&keywords=golfers+tape

u/munz0000 · 1 pointr/boostedboards

Order bones redz! They rock, set of 8, use 6, full change on front, just outer on back.... I ordered some ceramics (whole set) for my back set since they come with the inner larger set....

The swap gave me approx +0.5mile on range in expert mode

Used a 1/4 drive socket extension to slide in the wheel to remove the bigger inner bearing ring. I used the axle to remove the other six, but bones makes a good tool and bearing cleaner bottle too

Blankdecks.com is a great site for blanks.

This is the skateboard I ride right now from Amazon, and it's decent

u/ixAp0c · 2 pointsr/NewSkaters

Nah you'll be fine. They are good for getting the wheels a little tighter and reduce side to side friction, making bearings last longer according to the science behind it. You could get a 100 pack here on Amazon so you never run out.

I lost a few here and there myself, they are easy to lose track of being so small & sometimes they stick to the wheel from grease.

u/Savar_ · 1 pointr/NewSkaters

u/flamingfireworks · 1 pointr/longboarding

https://www.amazon.com/Caliber-Trucks-Cal-50%C2%B0-Longboard/dp/B00NY3Q5NQ are these the trucks you mean?

And i meant wider and taller. Im assuming id want narrower wheels for sliding and stuff, but assuming i dont actually have traction needs/problems i wont need some wideass wheels, right?

And taller wheels would handle pebbles/cracks better, right?

u/zyphaz · 1 pointr/ElectricSkateboarding

I'm not 100% sure but I've been told it's a Reverse Kingpin Truck (One massive bolt going in through the top with a nut at the bottom)

I've added some pictures of what I've got to work with, as you can see the motor's bolt onto the axel.
http://imgur.com/a/kgA9j

And I'm thinking of maybe transferring it to a Gullwing Sidewinder, like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gullwing-Sidewinder-Truck-Silver-10-Inch/dp/B009ZC92L2

Would it be possible at all?

u/cap7ainclu7ch · 1 pointr/boostedboards

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M5BZSP7/ref=twister_B07CLLJ7X2 for the wheels and https://flatland3d.com/shop/all-products/boosted-boards/shock-pads/ for the pads.

Flatland also sells those awesome board protectors that alot of Mini owners run.

u/VenomousSVT · 1 pointr/boostedboards

I agree, loosen the wheel nut 1/4 turn. It shouldn't have any side to side play but it will likely loosen up on the side load on the bearings and may fix that issue

as for bearings, if you decide to upgrade, flatland 3d sells some and amazon has the Acer ceramic bearings

Bearing is from a 8 pack that cost $14 CAD: Mini Logo

Used krazy glue to glue 4 quarters together for each spoke and to hold everything together. Some gutted paracord to make the edges soft and more support.

I followed this video, but used three spokes instead of two

Edit: also, if you know what to do with ~97 feet of 550 paracord let me know

i've been using powell peralta rat bones reissues (the 60mm 90A green ones) on my cruiser for about a year and i still really like 'em. you'll need risers to avoid wheelbite if they're going on a standard shaped deck with standard trucks.

u/ThinBlue38 · 2 pointsr/CZFirearms

I’ll check that out. I was using a holster from outlaw holsters, I like it and will probably get one for the TLR1. I am excited to shoot with the tape and see how much of a difference it makes. I’ll link the tape below. I think I have the small or medium palm I can’t recall.

I also did some CWG upgrades. 15# hammer spring, reduced trigger reset spring, firing pin spring, safety plunger spring, and the upgraded firing pin retaining pin.
