I love that you already listed the berries that change your tastebud thing, I'm planning on bringing a gift basket to an exchange with those and some lemons/limes/grapefruit. I've been suggesting that to a bunch of people on here too haha, it's pretty universal.

Lastly, the accessories like goggles and trap would most likely be best bought from spirit. The size of the goggles is a little small and fit my kids pretty well. Credit for the awesome fake glove idea goes to the guy who posted the Severed Hand Costume a year ago, not sure who, I saw the repost from a few days ago. His costume was a guy holding his own severed hand, and the top comment was “You were born with two right arms!!!” People were discussing how to solve that when I thought of this costume idea. You’re not holding your own hand, but a zombie hand. It just seemed like too cool of a project not to build, so I went ahead and tackled it right away.

Here is a little written guide on how you can tackle this yourself at home. Let me know if you have any questions.

Here’s what you will need-

•1 Black/red spandex glove

•~1 Pint Liquid mask latex

•2” thick styrofoam sheet, you only need about 4”x14”, plus a knife/rasp for carving.

•Acrylic paint- Black, Red, Brown, Green, yellow, fleshtone

•tin foil

•vinyl gloves

•rice/beans/airsoft BBs to fill glove for painting.

•sand for texture

•tissues

•Spray paint- black, brown

•gloves for fake hand

•jacket

First, take the long spandex glove and cut a 2”x1” hole in the wrist just below the palm that your real hand slips into. If you mess up, just turn the other glove inside out and use that one. Then carve the zombie forearm out of foam, keeping it really skinny and emphasizing the muscle shape. Then it goes into the back of the spandex glove up to where it touches your real wrist, with pins stuck into the foam to keep it in place and shape the fabric. Wrinkles are good here, you want a loose skin/vein look. Fill a vinyl glove with some rice/beans/air soft bbs and stuff that into the hand part of the glove temporarily while you paint it. Then use a liberal amount of liquid latex to paint it. Make sure you wear paint clothes or an apron when working with Latex. It’s messy stuff and will ruin your clothes/carpet. Put some tin foil down on your counter, and while painting the arm itself, mix latex into some tissues laid flat on the foil for skin muscle/skin texture pieces to add after they dried. You can mix normal acrylic/tempra paint into liquid latex to make different colors. Keep in mind it usually dries a lot darker than when it is wet, so don’t make the colors too dark. Start by painting the arm entirely black, then layer on red, green, and rotten flesh colored latex. Rub up and layer the tissue and latex pieces between colors to add texture to each layer. Sprinkle some sand on the wet latex to give it a really gnarly gross texture. Then carve a foam radius and ulna bone and stick them on the back with toothpicks and coat them with white glue to strengthen them/glue them to the arm. Layer more red latex on top to make them look like they go up into the arm. Then glue a dangly bit of latex as a snapped tendon. For detailing, flick some dark red acrylic paint on with an old toothbrush for some blood splatter in logical spots like the severed part of the arm and palm. Use a glossy latex-based spray for the exposed flesh parts to break up the flat texture latex usually has. You could also buy a bottle of GO2 brand glue and paint that on, it dries clear, glossy, and flexible in 20 mins. Optionally, cut a template for the tire tread mark and tape it around the zombie wrist in a logical spot, and just mist some black primer on top of that. Finally, mist some brown/black spray paint on to make it look dirty/burnt. Go light on it at first, you can always add more, it’s harder to subtract. Once everything is dry, untie/unclamp the vinyl glove filled with rice/beans/bbs and let those drain out through the hole in the wrist. This makes the glove shrink and wrinkle and also makes the vinyl glove easy to peel out of there.

Also optional, but you can add a $7 gold wrist watch from Walmart that you can grime/bloody up with latex (which should clean off fairly easily as long as it doesn’t soak in) Have that resting further down the zombie forearm.

Then the fake hand/glove around the wrist is just stuffed with some tin foil that you shape like the bone structure of your hand. Tin foil is good because you can bend and shape it. Then you shape the tin foil in the back of the hand so that it blends into your wrist. You can use two Velcro cable ties to keep it on your wrist, and put a safety pin through the Velcro, glove, and tin foil to keep them all together. Or you could just use a shoelace and tie it on. Make sure you put your jacket on BEFORE you put the zombie arm glove on. Then throw together a gross walking dead/ apocalypse look at a thrift store, add some cheap air soft guns and your melee weapon of choice, and you are done!

Then she would walk away to get something to drink. a slow song will come on. i'll walk over and extend my hand. "may I have this dance?" ill ask shyly. We will walk onto the dance floor, and slow dance. Just as the song is about to end I'll look in her eyes, Tell her she looks beautiful and thank her for the lovely evening. Then we will probably leave early cause we are way too cool to stay the entire time. Maybe get some food, watch a movie, mini golf, laser tag, i would let her control how the rest of the evening went. (wow reading this over again its really apparent now 10 years later how bad i actually wanted to go to prom)

It's not finished, and I'm open to adding more - so feel free to leave any suggestions in the comments below!





Helmets are a seriously important piece of kit for skating, and we’ve already got a pretty good guide for half-shell lids. However, once you start going faster you’ll find that your piss-pot helmet just won’t cut it.

That’s where a FULL FACE helmet comes in.

Yes, they’re expensive. Not prohibitively so, but you’ll be paying at least double the price of a standard half-shell helmet. Sure, you could skimp on a cheap one [please don’t buy that…], but this is your head we’re talking about protecting here. You only get one skull.

In terms of SAFE**^ full-face helmets, you have two primary options.

1. Longboarding-specific helmets.

   For longboarding-specific helmets, you have several common options.

   Once you delve into mountain bike helmets, however, there's a lot more choice - not all of which will be good for skating.
   
   By far the most commonly used MTB helmet used for skating is the BELL DROP ($110). Cheap, CPSC certified and relatively light, you couldn't really ask for much more - except perhaps a Roger Bros Bell Drop Visor ($25), or maybe the DIY option.
   
   The other common option is the 661 Comp Shifted ($74), although it's more bulky than the Drop and slightly heavier, too.
   
   
   
   In the end, the main decider on which helmet you get is going to be price. If you can afford a longboarding-specific helmet, by all means go for it. If you're planning to race seriously, the benefits of a helmet like that are massive. However, if you just want some added protection and your budget can't quite stretch to the ~$200 mark, then know that you'll be just as safe in a MTB lid like the Bell Drop or 661 Comp.

As far as not wanting it to be a "mash up" of pieces, good luck. These are custom costumes and not readily available pieces. You'll have to buy separate pieces, do some constructing on your own, and hope they match up and look ok.

I think wearing this jacket (remove the pocket buttons for a cleaner look. Hell, remove ALL the buttons and add some Velcro or snaps inside the "fly" to seal up more cleanly) will work best for your purposes. I can't find a stand-collar style jacket or even just zipper-down bomber in two-tone, and I can't find any in white in dyeable materials. Your best bet is probably this jacket.

there are lots of patterns for shoulder pads online that you can follow with foam and cover with a fabric of your choosing so that the size/color matches the costumes (you can see the shoulder pads are a shinier material than the jacket). Attach with craft spikes

For the pants, wear a split-color jean

You could always go with this instead and remove the head so as to form a collar (you would then need to buy a different morph hood for the head, in black) and then do the shoulder pad thing. Much easier. You'll likely run into issues with the amount of lycra/spandex in that suit in terms of adding shoulder pads, etc. Its unlikely they'll sit where you want them to. You're much better off using something that won't stretch, like the cotton jacket above.

Unless you're going to a poppy-themed party, no one is going to know what your costume is, so its not like anyone will be scrutinizing the verisimilitude of it. You might have to settle for "the best I can get on short notice".

WHOO!!! anyway, we were talking about it being a masquerade type party and how fun would that be?! I'm in disguise!" and he'd pull off his fake Mustache and then out of NOWHERE someone will start to drop a funky beat and he would start doing his thing. MEANWHILE, my Ex husbands monster of a GF would show up and start to try to party with us, even though we don't like her, and then the cops that weren't strippers would arrest her and leave us with the half naked officer. Then we would all go inside and put on robes and pamper ourselves with face washes. And some of us would pass out. Most likely.

Rubie's does make a good product once in a while, like this great Boba Fett helmet. Unfortunately, when they first start selling it for $30 back in 2015, it was quickly discontinued and they brought it back this year, only for around $50 it seems (none of the other helmets from the same line have increased in price, though).

Been wanting to pick one up for shits and giggles for a while, I was surprised at how (relatively) cheap it was. Only 1 left so better hurry!

As someone who's bought this from amazon and was thoroughly disappointed by the quality, what can you tell me about the quality of the bear coat from your company? My childish side is telling me to fork out the 120 dollars but after spending 200 dollars on the other coat I need to be more prudent.
