A rug - I personally wouldn't go with orange, because it would be too much for my taste. Blues really pop against orange, so I'd go with this pretty teal colour, and maybe some cushions (these are just some covers but you get the idea!) to pull it all together - but, of course, it depends on the type of orange you've got going on.

Lamp? How about this tetris lamp? Because it's cool, that's why!! Okay, okay. If you want something a little more classy, how about this instead? It's a table lamp, so you'd need to have an end table to go with it. This end table is kind of fun too :)

Or you could go with something like these - they come in multiple colours, so you could mix and match if you wanted.

Personally, I'd get these because I LOVE the colour :) That should tell you something about my taste (I haz none, I know).

I would move the trunk and place it on the floor below the TV.

I know you only mentioned the living room, but I can't help but notice the kitchen. I see you have what looks like a small strip of drywall between the tile above the sink and the start of the sloped ceiling. Buy 2 of the wall mount towel holders. Use one over the faucet for paper towles and put the other one to the left of the sink above the counter. Use S-Hooks to hang you coffee/tea cups there.

To the right of the sink between the sloped ceiling and the window? it looks like you have a little bit of was space. Maybe add some small floating shelves there to help keep items off the countertop.

Intsead of the metal dish rack I would place a brightly colored drying mat to the right of the sink and put the cutting board where the dish rack was. This will help give you some counter space to prepare meals and drinks.

Ok, we're going for Bohemian with a touch of slightly paler colours than the usual 60's pallet for some parts of the trailer just to balance it out.

I'm thinking something like Mad Men for the colour scheme but not too much since the space is small and by that, the colours would explode if not put together well. Thus, making it look cluttered and cramped at the same time.

We'll be fusing schemes together like, nuetral bohemian and traditional bohemian.

We'll base most of them here.

For the bed, the cover should be white. I'm not going to put any links, ^(assuming 6 Billion people on earth own generic white sheets.)

Pillows: Red Stripe, ambersonne, and some white ones. Hey, they don't exactly have to be these items. We're just following the patterns and colors! There are tons of patterns but the colours are mostly yellow and red together with blue. Most of the would come in stripes and mandala.

Blankets: Birdrock. Let's follow the colours they have. Red, White, Blue, & Brown. You can add those printed ones or to make it more authentic, get the knitted quilts.

If you noticed in the photos, the pillows and blankets along with the rugs make the whole Bohemian look. That's why I'm letting you freely choose which kind of patterns because even with plain pillows that are accordingly to the colours I suggested, you can always get that look just with the quilt blankets and violet Persian rugs.

These items are easy to find in the home departments in malls. The quilt blankets, that I'm most certain of, can be found in thrift shops or in those gypsy stores( if there are any in your area lol).

You can add those weaved baskets for storage and this.

For those benches you've mentioned, just toss some white table runners on them. Could be thin linen or just some cloth runners like this. It would give the authenticity if you get those runners with dangling knots!

If you want curtains, you can get them in white.

Lamps: your gas lamps already give the vibe lol maybe some warm Christmas lights.

If you wanna add small plants, cacti would do. Small ones in small pots are the best.

Again, the hooks! These are important since you live in a small space. You can get the ones with adhesive attached at the back.

I'll give you a rough sketch maybe in a day. But here's a mood board so you can visualise. Again, these are suggestions! I'm only giving ideas for the aesthetics then we'll talk about the placements. :)

Omg thank you so much! This black couch can be limiting, but since you can't change too much, I'd lean into it with a warm red rug like this one or something really basic like this one. Something in white can really brighten up a room. I also love a jute woven/cowhide look but that's if you really want to go southwest boho.

Some choice pillow combos can really help brighten up a room, too! I've seen these a lot lately and almost considered purchasing too.

What I really recommend is getting on Pinterest and doing some research on what works with the vibe you want and what you have. Example: "black couch boho living room" etc. if that's what you're going for. Then you can pick the image that really gets it and recreate it from there!

It's always fun making a house a home.

• A rug. I like this one, it has a nice mix of autumn colours which will make your living room feel warm and welcoming, and keeps the orange colour whilst introducing browns and reds.

• A lamp Personally I think this twin pack of value lamps is fantastic value. I've had them myself, and they work with any decor, and give out a decent amount of light, as well as being height adjustable.


• Pictures for the wall is a little bit of a cheat, but works out well if you're on a budget, and costs almost nothing to change if you get bored of the look. You could also try framing wallpaper samples. Most DIY stores will let you take numerous free samples.

• Cushions I personally like ethnic style cushions, and think they're a great way to make unusual colours such as orange really work with a room. In fact, you may want to consider using a wall hanging with some non-slip backing instead of a rug for a good match - much more lightweight, and of course, comes with the advantage of being light and easy to take with you when the year is up.

This rug is inexpensive but cute and has orange in it to go with the couches but other colors to bring color to the room.

Total self-promotion here, but I did create a guide about how to decorate in the Scandinavian style, if that appeals to you. I did it from the angle of decorating bedrooms, but the advice applies to any room, honestly.

What's your budget?

At the minimum, you'll need:

- A rug.

- Some curtains (get a nice, thick linen fabric, not the cheap-o fabrics. It'll make a huge difference).

- Pillows for the couch. (Bonus if you can put another, different but complementary, pillow on the chair, too. This would work well with the other pillows I linked.)

- A small potted plant for the coffee table.

- A floor lamp for that back corner.

- Some cool artwork to frame above your couch.

I need to try to be stealthy about it. A few years back I replaced all of the pillow cases with these Nicolas Cage pillowcases and they've been on guard. But it's been long enough I might be able to swing the curtain.
