I love mine and refuse to use anything else because I'm prone to sensitivities to tampons/pads. It takes a little getting used to when it comes to insertion/removal but after you get the hang of it it's really easy to use and convenient.

First, you have to know a little about your body. How heavy is your flow? Have you had children? How high is your cervix? These are things you want to know when choosing a cup and there are lots of guides out there comparing cups. For most brands, the small size is for pre-childbirth, light flow, or a low cervix. Large is for post-childbirth, heavier flow, or a higher cervix. Personally, I have a really heavy flow and low cervix and haven't had children and the small works great for me. Here's a great quiz that can help you find the best cup for your anatomy.

Next, there are lots of brands to choose from that vary in thickness, size, and shape. I know I've tried MoonCup (US), Diva Cup, and recently tried the Blossom Cup (which has become my go-to). For a beginner I'd suggest the Blossom Cup as it's a medium firmness, has an easy to grip stem, and is half the cost of the others.

When you first start out you can always do a "dry run" with the cup when you're not on your period, just use some safe water-based lube to help with insertion. Practice different folds. Practice adjusting it to make sure it gets a good seal (which can take a few tries because everyone's anatomy is a little different). Practice removal. It can be a little frustrating at first, but it's just like learning how to use tampons.

For care of your cup you'll want to make sure you wash and rinse both your hands and the cup every time you insert/remove. There are lots of washes designed specifically for cups. After my cycle I always soak mine in hydrogen peroxide for a bit just to help sterilize it before storage. You can also boil them for the same result.

A lot of women are concerned with public restrooms and how to handle that. Keep some menstrual cup wipes or a small bottle of water with you to clean the cup when you have to dump it. In a pinch you can always wipe it out with toilet paper. What's great, however, is that you can wear the cup for about 12 hours at a time without having to tend to it and you don't have to worry about carrying a stockpile of tampons/pads with you wherever you go. For the first few cycles I'd suggest wearing a pantyliner as a backup on your heaviest days so you get used to knowing when you have to empty it and just in case your seal isn't secured well enough (like I said, it takes practice). Again, once you get the hang of it, they rarely ever leak unlike tampons and pads.

Pretty much every woman I know who has tried cups swears by them, including myself. They're safer for both the body and environment.

Good luck and welcome to the cup club!

I used to use the diva cup but found it hard to get used to the feeling of it. Nowadays I love the fun factory fun cup https://www.amazon.com/Fun-Factory-FUN-CUP-Kit/dp/B0757LWQDW

It's got a good tilt/angle that helps, and the stem to pull it out is easier to grip to take out. Hope that helps!

u/kitsandkats · 2 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

Honestly, they've been amazing for me. There are lots of different brands out there, I have some of these which are super absorbent (they feel a little 'bulky' at first, but honestly, you get used to it very fast). Another benefit is that they don't move around much at all, and if they do shift in your underwear you can definitely 'tell'.

I also have these for 'lighter' days (which honestly still aren't that light for me). Plus I've had both sets for nearly two years now, and they're still perfectly fine, so I've saved money too!

u/skittleslover21 · 3 pointsr/menstrualcups

First of all congrats on your new adventure! Sorry it has been so tough. :-/

You can trim some of the stem so it isn't so uncomfortable when you have it in just make sure to leave a little to grab hold of if

It is impossible to suction your uterus out pulling on the cup, so no worries there.

When taking the cup out you MUST release the suction before trying to pull on the stem. To release the suction you grab the very bottom of the cup(above the stem) and squeeze, from there it should easily come out. I know it seems like a good idea to practice while not on your period, but when you are on your period you have a lot more lubrication to help you and ease discomfort.

Don't give up! I found the diva cup can be hard for beginners as it is a stiffer silicone than other brands. I personally like the lunette brand
Amazon has a lot of cheaper brands read the reviews and see what you like.

You can also find a lot of YouTube videos that show techniques for putting in and removing the cup. Good luck!

This is the one I bought and I can’t say enough nice things about it. I’ve used it almost a year. I have the small and I am also under 30 and childfree. Typically I empty it first thing in the morning and then in the evening, so basically every 12 hours, and it’s never leaked. One time on my heavier days i forgot to empty it before bed and that made quite a mess for me in the morning, but other than that no issues at all. You do have to be comfortable with getting your fingers in there and making sure it’s secured around your cervix to be sure it’s going to catch all the fluid correctly. It’s important to be comfortable with your anatomy and realize it’s a little messier than tampons because you do actually have to insert your fingers in your vagina and will probably come into contact with menstrual fluid, most of which you can avoid with tampons. But honestly it’s the best menstrual decision I’ve ever made. I cramp less and literally forget I’m on my period sometimes.

Ps yes you can run it under the tap and pop it back in. Thorough cleaning (typically by boiling) every cycle. If you’re in a public restroom in a pinch you can just empty it into the toilet and reinsert without rinsing. I’ve never had to do that because you can leave it in so long.

u/tinarob93 · 2 pointsr/menstrualcups

I'm don't have many suggestions on how to remove your Lunette any faster other than to say you'll get faster with practice.

You could try a different cup, either one with spill-proofing or one with higher capacity. Assuming you need a fairly small cup ...

Cups with spill-proofing:

Femmycycle Petite

Formoonsa Medium

Imari Rose cup

Small-diameter cups with higher capacities than Lunette small:

XO-FLO Mini 31-37ml

Fun Cup Small 30-35ml

Casco Small 26-30ml

The Rose cup is hard to get outside of Japan, but it is my go-to cup. The anti-spill rim isn't truly spill-proof, but it does help to cut down on mess. You might get this one out faster than the Lunette.

Femmycycle and Formoonsa have a truly spill-proof rim that should prevent spillage even if you drop it on the floor so long as the cup isn't over-filled. You might get a little blood on your finger-tip popping out the rim to pour, but very mess-free. The "Medium" Formoonsa is about the same size as the Petite Femmycycle. "Small" for Formoonsa is a 10ml "training" cup that comes with either of the other sizes. The cups do not have to open completely, so it may be a bit quicker to get them in as well.

The higher capacity cups I list are just a few that I found that are 41 or 42mm diameter and hold enough more that you might notice the difference. There are others in the range of Casco, but the increase is small enough I only listed the one. XO-FLO and Fun Cup are the ones I know that are a significant increase.

Note: I'm probably smaller than you are, and need a very small cup, myself. The cups I mentioned that I have personally used successfully are Femmycycle and Rose Cup. My other suggestions are based on third-party recommendations (reviews online, that sort of thing). I used Lunette Small as well, successfully but not the easiest for me to insert.

u/samuswashere · 1 pointr/queerception

I've heard of people using Softcups and this is probably what we'll try first (we'll be doing at-home AI with an in-person donor). They seem to be similar to the Ziggy Cup but they are disposable and you can find them in most drug stores with other menstrual products.

I have friends who have been successful with at-home AI. Other than the timing, the biggest key is minimizing the time that the sperm is outside the body. We're talking minutes, so you will still need to coordinate to go through the process in the same place at the same time. If you want to preserve it for longer than that, you will need special kits which are not cheap. So, I can't really think of any benefits of going this route if you have the option of just having sex unless you truly find the idea of having sex that unappealing.

u/BrokenMeatRobot · 2 pointsr/clothpads
  1. Picking the right size can depend on how much you want the pads to absorb. I have a couple of different sizes, you can get a variety for overnight, heavy flow, med flow, or light flow.

  2. I got my first cloth pads from Amazon because they were cheap and great as a trial run. I'm in Canada, but these are the same ones I have on Amazon.com: Link to variety pack and Overnight size

  3. You change them like you would disposable pads, depending on your flow. They will feel damp but they absorb really well and are superior for wicking away moisture in comparison to disposables. I'd suggest paring them with period underwear or a menstrual cup if you are worried about leaks, some people wear two pairs of underwear to keep them in place. They don't have a sticky backing so it can take some getting used to. Overall they're way more comfortable than disposable pads.

  4. A decent price to pay depends on what you're looking for. The ones on Amazon are cheap but they function well. When you want to upgrade consider if you want something made from organic materials, cotton, bamboo, hand-made off Etsy, etc. They will affect the prices.
u/thegirlwhoflew · 1 pointr/menstrualcups

The only time I had leakage with cloth pads was in the first two months learning what size I needed for my flows. Other than that I love them! I have loads of recommendations.

Pink Daisy by Blueberry Diapers
https://blueberrydiapers.com/collections/pink-daisy?sort_by=title-ascending

I use the ones biggest ones on my heavy days and overnight. Never had a problem with leaking.

Charlie Banana
These are super soft.
https://www.charliebanana.com/collections/women-1/feminine-pad

Charcoal Period Pads
This type does a good job if you are worried about smells.
Heart Felt Bamboo Reusable... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VJNPOTE?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Just be sure to wash them before you use them. Otherwise they won’t absorb the way they were designed.

If you have any questions about how to wash them let me know. I’ve been using cloth pads for over 10 years now and love them.

You can search in amazon for some cloth pads as well. I just have the issue of one bad buy. The pads were made with very wide wings so the bad spins around in my underwear. I can send you a link of those ones so you can see how their are designed so as to avoid buy that shape. Otherwise if I double check the shape of the pads before buying I haven’t had any problems.

Etsy can also be a good place to buy some as well.

u/Espe_193 · 2 pointsr/menstrualcups

I haven't tried the one you linked or any cup with a drain but i do have a Super Jennie that I absolutely love https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A2YZUBC/ref=twister_B0146AI05G?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 its a rounder cup with a shorter stem best cup iv'e tried so far :)

u/selfishlicker · 2 pointsr/sexover30

Ok, time to get gross. Like /u/johnnykaiserblade said, a cleaning helps, but in more ways than just being clean. After a nice warm cleansing, I get super loose down there. Ok, here's the gross part. I have, at times used the shower head to clean out, but usually, I'll dislodge some hidden surprises when I do. Then I have to scoop it up and throw it in the toilet. I've tried the bulb, but it's too small, too hard to fill, and hard to not get air in there. It's also hard to clean. So for me, this worked well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHJBSOA

u/js112203 · 2 pointsr/Periods

I use this one and I will never switch back. It’s a little pricey but it’s so soft and good quality. It’s small but holds lots of blood and I just love it. Good luck!

u/umm_beans · 1 pointr/menstrualcups

So here is what I was referencing when I said that... maybe this was more so a mistake on Amazon's part? Not sure who is responsible for the info included in the screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/k2z5Hdu

Also, on Lena's site they say:

> Most people can wear either size Lena Cup but choose one over the other primarily based on flow amount, cervix height during menstruation and general physique.
At Lena we do not believe that age and birthing history play a significant role in choosing a menstrual cup. Mothers with multiple births are happily using Lena Small while teenagers, with a heavy flow, choose Lena Large.

>Lena Small is ideal for users with a normal flow.
Lena Large is suited for users with a heavy flow.

Source

Now I will admit they say that "most" people can use either size and that the size chosen is based on flow + cervical height, etc. but when I was looking at the product on Amazon, I was mostly just seeing the description of the sizes to be based on flow rather than cervical height. I will admit some fault on my part due not being thorough (even though I thought I was) but you can see what I was basing my decision on in those screenshots I linked.

(Here is the Amazon link too, for reference so you can scroll and see the chart in the screenshots if you want: LINK)

I'm strictly going to address the grooming side of things, although I do think it's a bit unfair that your boyfriend is being apparently less than willing to acclimate himself to your ladybits.

First, have you ever tried waxing? The first time hurts like a bitch, but it gets progressively easier, no ingrowns, no razor burn.

If that's not an option (it's too expensive for me to maintain, I don't like the growback in between), there are a few things you can do to make shaving less of a bitch. First, always use a sharp, new razor. I tend to use men's razors because I find they're sharper and do a better job overall. Secondly, use a super-slick substance for shaving. I skip over gels and creams and use a product made specifically for sensitive areas, called (don't laugh) Coochy Shave. Okay, you can laugh. It feels like conditioner and makes my shaves pretty darn smooth.

Get in the shower, get everything nice and wet and hot and steamy for a while, apply the shave cream, then begin shaving. Pull the area of skin taut and shave one stroke (people say with the grain for sensitive skin, but I never get close enough that way, so I go against) and rinse. One stroke, rinse, repeat. Try to never go over an area twice. Once done, rinse completely, dry completely. Sometimes bumps and burns can be made worse by friction, so you may have luck with applying an anti-chafe lotion like Monistat Soothing Care (not just yeast infection stuff, this is a silicone/dimethicone product that reduces friction on skin and also doubles as a makeup primer...) I try to stay underwearless and pantsless for a while after shaving, too, but that may just be me being weird.

Lastly, I've found that the more often I shave, and the more I keep up with grooming, the less irritation and bumps I have to deal with. It can suck for the first bit of time, but I think a lot of people find they deal with shaving issues less, the more frequently they do it.

Best of luck!

u/nemracbackwards · 2 pointsr/asianfeminism

I actually switched to this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V51Y2BG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The stainage doesn't seem as intense because it's blue. But it's also not as stiff and because of that, it doesn't pop out inside of you like the diva cup does. But on the other hand it does feel more comfortable.

I really wish someone made a like reusable tampon inserter type thing for the cups. Like you fold the cup into a tube, then you can insert the tube easily and the use the push pop thing to get it in. Viola! no more fisting yourself in public bathrooms trying to get your cup back in. hahahaha. -sigh- that would be my dream product.

u/BadDragonBottom · 3 pointsr/BadDragon

I've had good luck with this sort of thing (although not the exact item below):

https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Enema-Cleansing-Silicone-HealthGoodsIn/dp/B00DTOLP7Q

The instructions recommend the short nozzle for colon douching. That'll work OK for the first pass, but you might try the longer wand for followup since it'll get water deeper inside you for a more complete clean, so long as you insert it gently to not do any damage by poking too hard.

I haven't used the Diva specifically, but I've used Lunette, and this generic one. The lunette is definitely a little nicer/softer material, but if you just want to try the concept, the cheap one might be a good entry point.

I LOVE THEM. I can't feel that it's in. On heavy days I may have to change it 3 times, but most of the time I change it once in the morning and once in the evening, and the other 23.75 hrs/day, its like I don't have a period.

It definitely took an adjustment period (hah) of 2-3 cycles for me to get used to the "ick factor". There was an adjustment of "holy shit look at all that coming out of me", and of getting ungrossed out by the process of inserting, removing, cleaning, etc.

But now? I can't imagine ever going back to pads or tampons, and tbh the idea of keeping used menstrual products just sitting in my trash now seems WAY grosser than emptying my cup and flushing away the content.

u/alittleperil · 6 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

if you already know a lot about your vag, something like this might be helpful: https://putacupinit.com/chart/

otherwise, I recommend one of the really cheap ones to start, something like: 1, 2, or 3. The first one was the first one I tried, it was shaped slightly wrong for me and made me feel like I needed to pee constantly, but after trying it I knew I preferred it to tampons and pads. Using a chart like the one above I found the (much more expensive, sadly) cup that fit me.

don't try and do a dry run, it's different and a lot easier to put in when you're on your period than when you're not.

u/flyingmountain · 1 pointr/asktransgender

Yes, testosterone makes your cycle stop. One of the best effects, in my opinion.

Until then, you could use tampons with flushable applicators or, what I personally used, tampons without applicators. A Moon Cup or Diva Cup could also be an option, but I never tried because I was kind of grossed out by the idea. Lots of people think they're great, though.

And, FYI, testosterone is surprisingly cheap, like less than $10 a month, even without insurance. The doctor's appointments can get expensive if you don't have insurance, but testosterone itself is way more affordable than many people think.

u/btmbod · 2 pointsr/askgaybros

i use this

altho, i eat healthy and poop regularly (with the help of coffee!!) i don't trust that it's totally clean back there. i will flush it out a few times before sex. and because i enjoy getting rimmed, i think it's appropriate to clean before for my partner's sake. the trick is to not go in too deep nor stay in too long. you just want a few inches of it clean not the whole thing if you know what i mean.

from what i read and heard is that it's perfectly fine to use it occasionally and there isnt any real harm. but if you're doing it more than 4-5 days a week then that may be a little excessive. i would recommend only 1-2 a week.

u/danger_nooble · 4 pointsr/Ultralight

Diva Cups are actually pretty renowned for being a really kick ass alternative to tampons. You'll see /r/AskWomen rave about them here and there. They hold much more than a tampon can absorb, but that said you do need to be able to clean them so I can see how that could get annoying. Not to mention it's a cup of stuff, and I'm not sure how easy it would be to remove without spilling when you have to resort to squatting.

Alternatively, they make teeny tiny little tampons as well. She could probably fit an entire trip's worth in her fist. I've always loved these for festivals and activities where you're out all day and don't have much more than a small pack with you.

u/Silver_kitty · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

I think you'd probably do well getting a variety set. Like this Tampax Pearl set. If you don't want to look like you put too much time into thinking about it, I think that just getting a package of "regular" tampons and "regular" pads is fine. I'd probably go with the Kotex ones in the black boxes since they carry both tampons and pads that are pretty good so you have the same brand (again, it doesn't look like you stood and agonized in the feminine product aisle too long).

I would also suggest a pack of baby wipes since they work reasonably well for makeup removal and "freshening up" which is much appreciated.

EDIT: Added links to Kotex products.

u/girlwithabluebox · 2 pointsr/MtF

I keep some of these pads and these tampons on hand for friends or those in emergency. Like a good Eagle Scout, I'm always prepared. :)

u/hersheykiss7761 · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

I got these pads for the first few days that are super heavy. I still have some left, I only needed such a heavy pad for the first week. After that I was able to use these regular sized ones. The wings are really helpful in getting everything to stay put, and also the longer ones are good for night-time when you may be moving more. You can also get these pad ice packs, they gave them to me at my hospital and I loved them, but you could also buy some more to have on hand.

u/Tarshana · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

There are a few pads I would suggest for your sister. One package for every day use such as Always with wings and an overnight pad , which helps when we sleep. The directions are on inserts in the packages and she'll be just fine :) If she's cramping I advise advil or motrin over tylenol. You're doing great, big brother!

Ibuprofen. And might appreciate a couple of heavy duty cloth pads for wearing at night, something like this - https://www.amazon.com/Sanitary-Menstrual-Heart-Felt-Absobancy/dp/B00VJNPOTE?th=1

They're reusable (no more garbage for the landfill), comfortable (can be less irritating to sensitive body parts), and come in a variety of designs and colors which helps to destigmatize a naturally occurring process. You just rinse with cold water right after use and then throw in the usual warm/hot water wash. Easy peasy. And seriously money saving in the long term.

I really like preseed. A little goes a long way so I only fill the tube to the first line.

Because of this, I still have a ton of product leftover by the time I've used all of the included single use applicators. Solved that problem by buying some additional applicators on Amazon. These are a perfect fit for the preseed tube.

We only use it during my fertile window for cost reasons.

The original Lily Cup or the new Lily Cup One for beginners ? I have never managed to get a seal at all with the original ergonomically shaped Lily Cup so I gave up on it. Haven’t had the chance to use my new Lily Cup One yet as my periods are often three months apart. Sorry I can’t be more helpful!

I have a condition where I only take enemas, never poo naturally. This is what I find works best... I use an enema bag, you can get them at Walmart, CVS, etc. I also use a small Fleet enema bottle like this. Finally, mineral oil.

Dump the contents of the fleet enema bottle. It's really not important. Fill the fleet bottle to the top with mineral oil.

Fill the enema bag with warm water, not hot. Hang about 3 to 4 feet above you.

Using fleet bottle, squirt 1/2 bottle mineral oil. (You filled it to the top so you're not squirting air.)

Release enema clamp, allow air to escape and warm water flowing.
Clamp, insert, unclamp. Take 50% to 100% of enema.

Immediately get up and defecate.

Repeat if necessary.

I find that this does the job the quickest with the least amount of after-effects. Best if your stools are a bit hard. If they are mushy like clay, you may need to allow more time in your gut.

The longer you hold the water in, the more you'll vacate, generally speaking, but it will take you much longer as well, maybe 30+ minutes. I like being over with it in 5 to 10 minutes, and just getting rid of what's blocking everything else is my goal... I can always do another enema the next day if needed.

I can speak to Pre-Seed..I think I could get more than 9 uses out of it (just started using it this cycle). I use about 1/2 of what they recommend, and probably could use less. You can also use Pre-Seed like lubricant so you don't need to use an applicator. I like using the applicator because you can get the Pre-Seed right at the entrance of the cervix. I thought about washing and reusing applicators but decided not to because I didn't want to risk the chance of an infection during my FW! One other idea is maybe trying to buy some vaginal applicators online? https://www.amazon.com/Disposable-Applicators-Individually-Threaded-Contraceptive/dp/B0195C8I52/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1512047662&sr=8-3&keywords=vaginal+applicators

I bought this enema bag and this suction tubing as a better tube.

The Parker 61 or most of the open backed cartridges for cleaning other pens fit in the end of the replacement tubing snugly enough to seal. So either press the Parker directly into the tubing or for other pens the cleaning cart (and then insert the cleaning cart as you normally would) and then suspend the bag from the top of your kitchen cabinet nearest the sink and gravity will do the rest. Place the other end into a mug in your sink and walk away while two quarts of whatever you're using to clean it with get flushed right through. One bag will usually do it, my wife let a pen dry out for six months and that took three fills.

That little setup let's me walk away and have my coffee or do something else while the pen cleans itself.

u/runpmc · 2 pointsr/lgbt

Yeah. I recommend getting an inexpensive bag like this one—it operates via gravity, so there's no pressure forcing the water up further than you want.

With practice, I've hit the point where I can be ready to get pounded with only 5-10 minutes' prep time.

I’ve had my eyes on these for a while, but I’ve never had the extra few dollars to buy them. If you do pick me, black and small would be amazing ❤️ you can PM me, if you need, too!

u/din_the_dancer · 2 pointsr/menstrualcups

Like, you said you got the Dutchess cup?

Here's Blossom, [Athena] (https://www.amazon.com/Athena-Menstrual-Cup-Recommended-Guaranteed/dp/B016PYYVT0/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=Athena%2Bcup&qid=1555431670&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&th=1), and [Pixie Luxe] (https://www.amazon.com/Ranked-Most-Comfortable-Menstrual-Cup/dp/B077RPHT6X/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1EMD4HMNXZQFV&keywords=pixie%2Bluxe%2Bcup&qid=1555431702&s=gateway&sprefix=pixie%2Blux%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-2&th=1).

And then there's this off of Aliexpress.

Those all look like the same cup, and I would not be surprised if they were all the same cup.

I have a collection of higher quality cups too, so I want to do comparisons of the cheaper cups vs reputable ones.

u/WutThEff · 4 pointsr/ZeroWaste

I bought these more than six months ago. They're holding up really well (aside from the one my dog nibbled on, yuck). I just rinse them out when I'm done using them and throw them in the wash with my other laundry. Easy peasy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078S6KRX2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I also offer you something akin to this. I have used them while in costumes, and they are AMAZING.

u/Mcnugget84 · 2 pointsr/TryingForABaby

Why not just get a pack with applicators and clean them really well (boil them?)

Orrr Amazon comes through again

u/Eva_sissy · 1 pointr/sissyhypno

This isn't a direct answer to your question but I purchased this very clinical looking kit a few months ago, I like it a lot. Does exactly what the product was intended to do without any fuss or leaking and is pretty cheap.

I decided to try it again ten years after using the Diva. It leaked like crazy. My periods are very heavy and figured it wouldn't hurt to try the cup again. I'd go through a single Super+ on my heaviest days every one to three hours. There are many on Amazon but be wary of fake reviews. This is the model I purchased. I got the large for "assurance".

The cup is prone to leakage but to reduce the risk, I insert the cup, turning it to ensure it's fully open and I "pump" it in and out a few times to create a suction action and seal.

Removal can be messy but just pull it out at a downward angle gently and it shouldn't be much worse than a tampon.

I just got the cup two cycles ago so I'm just getting used to it. I like tampons because they're flush and go. The cup lasts much, much longer. I went around the city once last cycle with it and it leaked. It's important that the cup is open and positioned near the opening where the walls are narrowest. It's not a female condom or sponge!

>deep clean

Enema bags (example) work well.

u/giddyromilly · 1 pointr/menstrualcups

Might try Blossom Cup ! It’s the one I use. It’s very soft and the small is a good size. I used it both as a virgin and while sexually active and didn’t notice a difference. The packaging is pink but I don’t think it references pronouns. It also comes in any number of colors. Mine is black and I’ve had it for a few years.

I was looking for a link to the softcups to send you, and found that apparently now there is a reusable version!

There are cheaper, disposable menstrual cups out there! Can be worn for much longer than either tampons or pads and much better for the environment and vaginal health in general!

That's an applicator for some kind of vaginal ointment, like a yeast infection treatment or a contraceptive jelly

u/cttnmthslv · 6 pointsr/TIHI

There are cheaper ones, but you may be buying a substandard material that will stain. I will ask my wife what brand she gets

Edit: She said it’s called Lena cup. The sensitive one

If I'm on my period (8-10 days!) then I use softcup and for clients. You still have to reach inside but maybe I would work for you or another provider looking for an alternative.

We live in a golden age. You are in luck.

u/daitoshi · 4 pointsr/AskWomen

I have the small "Blossom" cup. - When talking about silicone in general, I'd rate it "Medium firmness" but in comparison to several other cups I've tried, it's quite soft.

u/[deleted] · 0 pointsr/AskReddit

You should get this.

You don’t know what you are talking about girl!! It’s a period “disk”, not the menstrual cup you are thinking about!

This is the one I have, although mine had a longer tab. I cut it off because it chaffed.

Here is a cheaper one, though I can’t speak for its quality.

It does suck to have to put it in and take it out but while it’s in you can almost forget about it. There’s no mess, no smell, no string and you can wear whatever underwear you want. I have pretty low flow so I just wash it out every night in the shower.

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time, at least if you do get one you only have to buy it once, not every month 😕
