I got a Glock 19 after swearing to never buy a Glock. I wanted a physical safety, but after learning more about it, I figured the best safety is going to be my brain anyway.
I so shot the XDm9 and it was pretty nice, had a much larger handle than the 19 and I think more recoil. If you get the Glock, I'd definitely recommend the Slide on Grip, it's night and day in terms of comfort.
Also buy some bulk ammo online, I got 1000 rounds and still have at least 3 boxes left. It's cheap enough that you don't have to freak out about blowing $.25 a round like with a .40 or .45.

This gun grip tape does an excellent job of adding grip with no bulk. $11 on Amazon for enough material to do 2-3 phones. I personally like the look but realize it's not for everyone. Looks better in person. Just thought I'd share. I did this on an iPhone 6 two years ago and it left no residue after taking it off with the help of a little Goo-Gone. Thought I'd try it on the matte black iPhone 7. Here's a video someone else put up of what it looks like on an iPhone 6 Space Gray: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RrD_uPzXpCE --- I recommended starting at the bottom and cutting a 3 1/8th inch long piece instead of a 3-inch long piece like he suggests for the 4.7-inch iPhone --- Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C7WXTJS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_fjP4xbQ0V9AMM
Wanted to add this disclaimer if anyone was wondering why the entire back of the phone isn't covered: I started applying it at the bottom of the phone first. While it does a great job adhering to the curved edge of the iPhone, there's not a good way to apply it to the corners of the phone, so I decided to start at the lowest possible point where it's actually covering the antenna line. Oh, also, an added bonus is that it lays flat much better instead of pivoting off the camera bump.
Nice. I have the same and love mine. Great looking, good quality 1911 for a decent price.
I put one of these on mine to help improve the grip. It matches and looks pretty good with the black slide stop, thumb, and grip safeties.
My hands are 18.3cm. I use a claw grip gaming and a fingertip/claw grip in Windows. I use the Mionix Castor on SteelSeries 9HD and really like it. I've tried a lot of mice. I don't own a Deathadder, so I don't know what kind of latency the left and right clicks have. The Mionix Castor has a couple extra ms in left/right click latency. I got used to it and don't really have an issue with it, but other people don't like it. If you think this is going to be an issue, I recommend checking out the Zowie EC2-A. I haven't tried this mouse, but I know the dimensions and shape are just about perfect for our hand size and claw grip usage. It doesn't have that rubber side grip like the deathadder or Castor, but you can use this grip tape on the sides. I put this tape on the Roccat Kone Pure, SteelSeries Sensei, and G303 when I was testing them. It works perfectly.
I got flamed and downvoted when I tried posting this before, but I will try again.
I got the new Rhinoshield bumper and REALLY like it with the exception that it slips easily out of my hand when trying to pull it out of my pocket.
I found this grip tape on Amazon and applied a thin strip of it along the "grip spots" on the bumper and now it is perfect. You cannot even tell that it is not built into the bumper. They should add one with extra grip.

Not only does it fit perfectly in my hand, is very accurate & has the best aesthetics of any other handgun IMO.
Also, get the Hogue grips, the gun will feel SO much more steady.
Also also, I can't believe your wait times. While this is mostly a blue state, I've come to love PA for their gun laws. Once I decided to buy this gun, I walked into a dealer and 30 minutes later I was a proud owner.
I compared the Shield with the XDs and went with the Shield.
Shield is very thin.
I felt the Shield was much smoother to shoot. XDs had a "snap" to it that the Shield doesn't.
Since I've had the Sheild I have put the rubber Talon grips. What an improvement, and as far as I know, you can't put one on the XDs. However, the XDs does have a "grippier" grip over the Shield. But the Shield with the Talon grips is better than the standard XDs grips.
I also put the pinky extension on the 7 round mag I carry, and the +2 Hyve Mag extension on my 8 round mag.
I like the stock trigger and see no reason to modify it. It's safe and effective.
Next accessory will be Tricon sights.
With all of this, the Shield is hands down the best compact I have shot. Like everybody says, shoot a couple different pistols, and find the one that works best for you.
The seller has a storefront on Amazon, so you can get it from there quite quickly if you have Amazon Prime:
TALON Grips 202R for Springfield Armory XD Full Size 9mm/.357/.40, Black Rubber https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OGA8EAS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_PH3A7dJuUlvbP
These fit my XD 9mm Service 4" perfectly.
Beautiful! I have a 6" stainless GP100 myself. Absolutely love it. I installed this front sight right after i got it: http://www.amazon.com/HiViz-Ruger-GP100-Handgun-Sight/dp/B000EBUG4K
super easy to install and made a huge difference in the sight vizibility.
Nope not at all. The rubberized grips feel more like the factory texturing on most pistols but the way they are textured it makes the gun a whole lot grippier. I can run my shirt over my gun just fine without it snagging or anything, but as soon as I put my hand on it, it is solid. It's hard to explain without actually trying it for yourself.
They also have a sandpaper like grip which will mess your shirts up, but for guns that are solely used on the range in an OWB holster, that would provide the best grip.
They're pretty cheap too.

I've not had to replace them yet and I've had them on for a few years now. Still grippy as ever :)
This one is pretty popular among shield owners: https://www.amazon.com/Pearce-Grips-PG-MPS-Extension-Shield/dp/B00HB1SYCC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1542318311&sr=8-2&keywords=shield+magazine+extension
It's not so much about the looks rather the feel of the gun when you're holding it. I find extension really helps with my hand placement. Ultimately, you'll find out what feels best for you. Congrats again on the purchase.
I've been carrying it daily for just under a year and a half. Shooting it took a little getting used to because of the size... but it's great now. Be sure to practice a lot with it.
I highly recommend buying a Hogue grip. They're $10-$15 and well worth it, imo.
Very nice choice. I personally recommend some Hogue grips, as they improved my grip and aim considerably, though I'm sure since you've fuckin been to the army you know better than I do. Congrats.
http://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Rubber-Beretta-Series-Grooves/dp/B000STKK9E
Super easy to install it comes with the pry tool to pop the pieces off. And the grips are solid, they should use these for the elite. I have an elite and a controller with the quickshot. And the trigger locks are a nice bonus unless you forget them on in a racing game.
I also used some of this stuff I have. It's easy to cut and stick anywhere you want grip. I have had some on my controller for 2 years and it's not coming off. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7WXTJS/
It doesn't stay stuck on what it is meant for very well though.
I use this talon grip like grip tape I found on Amazon for like $12. I have a strip of it on my Appleseed rifle where my support hand goes when I'm shooting standing and all slung up. It's plenty grippy and durable and could be an option.
Triangular handguards are always gonna look good, Brownells has some rifle length in green on sale right now for $26.99...i think I need to build another rifle, haha.
Honestly the shape of the GPW wasn't the best for me. I really like right hand sided ergonomic mice rather than ambidextrous ones. Is there not a wireless equivalent to the EC2-A? Just ordered some of this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ATH0KEA/
Is that good for mice? Thanks for your help
Some Pearce Grip Extensions
and Rubber Talon grips
I love my 3.3 .45, it doesn't recoil as much as you would think and is a wonderfully fun pistol to shoot. Have fun!
Only tip i can think of, if you're not familiar with grip safeties is practice your grip/unholstering if you are using it as a carry pistol. Not a big issue at all.
Welcome to the cz club, there's no going back now. I loved the stock grips on my sp-01, then I eventually got these and was blown away at how it felt even better in my hand than the already-incredible stock grips.
Enjoy that wonderful pistol!
I've got the CZ branded cocobolo ones that I really love. Pachmayr has also started making some laminate grips that look pretty nice for the price.
If money's no object I'd go w/ the Nils personally, they always look super classy.
Thats pretty sexy looking!
Grip
Check this grip out. Its amazing. I have seen many other 1911's on here with it. Especially if you have big hands its great.
Some mods you could do are:
Just some additional info:
Personally, I have a Paracord from CeeSA and it's amazing, definitely worth it.
Just checked the internals; the mod is certainly feasible. Imgur album with extra info for anyone interested.
I'll be using this grip tape from amazon, unless anyone has better suggestions.
The Scimitar really does feel amazing though. I'm also looking forward to it being slightly thinner to grip and even slightly lighter in addition to the extra sense of security of having a sturdy side grip to press on.
> "I shoot that just fine" is pretty subjective but also a fine standard.
I'm consistently shooting 2 inch groups at 15 feet, I feel that's sufficient in a self defense scenario. The pistol is small but some of that is mitigated with a Pearce Pinky Extension with the extension, I'm able to grip using my entire hand. The Mod.2 appears to make that even better by making the beavertail higher on the grip, bringing your hand higher while lowering the bore axis.
if you are really set on a Kel-Tec P32 i would strongly encourge you to get a Ruger LCP, mine has been very reliable over years. i found one for $190 with free shipping the LCP uses the more powerful .380 ACP cartridge instead of .32 auto. real defensive loads exist for .380 such as Federal HST Micro. if you get the LCP i would recomend getting the Hogue rubber grip sleeve for it. the hogue grip makes the grip a bit wider and really helps spread out of the felt recoil. you could also look at the lcp II it is wider than the LCP one and has better sights.
you will want a good holster, one that covers the trigger and one the gun wont fall out when completely inverted. the "safety" here is the holster, by protecting the trigger you are preventing the gun from firing. in addition the guns have a long heavy trigger pull, these guns do not have "hair tiggers" that will go off with little more than a stiff breeze...
the sights on these guns are milled into the slide, they are not adjustable. getting shots on target is not a problem, if you know what you are doing. you have likely seen something like this before proper sight alignment Well with guns like these micro pocket pistols with the sights milled into the slide that "proper sight picture" goes out the window. your sight picture will look like anyone of these except for the top one. but thats is fine because the bullets will hit the center of the target. my LCP shoots low, i make the bottom of my front sight post level with the rear sights and i can hold 3-4 inch groups at 15 yards. my friends LCP shoots to the left, so i make the front sight bias the right side of the notch and then the gun shoots straight. the sights on these things work, they are just not intuitive. accuracy seems very ammo dependent with these tiny guns so try lots of brands.
https://www.amazon.com/Combination-POCKET-Holster-Keltec-CC3/dp/B008UGE6B0
I use this for my LCP. Works great, I can run with it, sit down comfortably.
I also suggest checking out a grip for it. Makes a huge difference how it feels in my hand.
https://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Handall-Hybrid-Ruger-Sleeve/dp/B004Y8AYGE
As a fellow flipper I'm going to recommend fucking around with some grip tape. Something like this. http://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-phones-cameras-knives-tools/dp/B00ATH0KEA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1452065743&sr=8-3&keywords=grip+tape You can do a lot with a Zippo that has great grip in some places and a good slip on others. It's cheap enough to rip it off and try more in a different places.
Yes but it is such a very comfortable gun to carry around.
RECOMMEND:
Hogue grip
upgrade the recoil spring to 13 pounds
upgrade to sweat pea trigger
It will be like night and day for that gun. I promise.
Hogue Handall Jr. and I couldn't recommend it enough, unless you have tiny Donald Trump hands. I put it on there to take a tiny bit of the pop out of the pistol (all baby 9's pop) and to widen it a bit to help it fit better in my hand. Makes a world of difference.
I share a link earlier. It works good.
GT-5000 (3 strips) Grip Tape for cell phones, cameras
Added: I try many things before, picture below was Sugru with some handmade texture. But they feel like not rubber enough to get a good grip Imgur

There are a few hybrid holsters out there that come with suede backing on the leather (hidden hybrid holster, firearm holsters, etc). I've never actually looked to apply anything to the front of the kydex on these holsters.
I have spent some time trying some different things on the back of full kydex holsters like those from pjholster. I've played with 3M safety walk indoor outdoor anti-slip tread (it's a bit thick but rubberized), skateboard tape, a rubberized grip tape sold on amazon, and even mole skin. I'll probably try that suede next. The others have worked - it helps it cling onto my side/shorts a bit more so that it doesn't feel like it's pulling my pants down quite as easily, but I'm not completely happy with any of them.
The best thing I did for my XDS setup was to add a Talon grip wrap... TALON Grips For Springfield XD-S Small Backstrap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N41PHFU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_iE9Zzb5G6HQCX
This one thing makes it feel like a completely different gun with all the other features I love about my XDS.
You can get the Pearce finger groove insert that goes under those beautiful blue grips and may be just the compromise you are looking for to get some of the feel of that p238.
I have them on both my 1911s and love them. (And if you prefer, you can use them with the slim g10 vz grips so the gun stays about the same thickness).
https://www.amazon.com/Pearce-Grips-Rubber-Government-Equivalents/dp/B0002INNYU
My method is that I just don't hold it. I read using a Tablet stand.
Having said that, there is a type of grip tape you can buy that is designed for firearms. I've heard many stories of people buying that stuff and putting it on the back of their Kindle Oasis 2. The tape comes in sheets that you can cut and place wherever you want.
Here is an example: https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-Strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00C7WXTJS/
I'd also like to mention that in the rare times when I do hold it in order to read that I find holding it in Landscape view (the thick part with buttons on the bottom) seems more comfortable than any other way of holding it. Plus I like big fonts so this makes the line length acceptable whereas I find it too short when holding it the standard/Portrait view way.
This post is a followup to http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/2od9b2/stickon_keyboard_bumps_on_numbers_row_is_there_a/ .
In summary, I need to give certain keys a tactile feel to facilitate positioning of my fingers over the numbers row, and over the [,], brackets (dvorak layout). My previous solution worked but was not very aesthetic.
I purchased this product: http://www.amazon.com/skateboard-chambering-emergency-acquisition-texturing/dp/B00C7WXTJS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421676303&sr=8-1&keywords=gun+tape GT-5000 Gun Tape. I cut small 9mmx11mm pieces and stuck them onto certain keys.
I feel like the final result works very well with the dark blue keycaps of the Leopold FC-750r. And the tactile feel is perfect.
Yeah, I get what you mean. The corner of the smallest pad on mine kept peeling back even early on because my ring finger would kinda brush up against it. I can definitely say the adhesive on this stuff is really strong!
Here's the link to the one I got:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATH0KEA
I've had one for about a year or two and it's great. Like others in this thread have said, it's picky about ammo, and the only stuff it gets now is CCI, or maybe Federal if that's all I have.
I've also since added these grips as well as this upgrade kit and it's one of my favourite guns now.
My dad picked one up last year and he really likes it. I think his favorite mod I purchased for him last Christmas was rubber finger grooves like in the link below (that's the exact model for the SR1911).
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002INNYU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Have you considered a Pearce grip for the standard magazine? I think they are a great addition. They don't snag on my clothes or add that much to the profile of the gun. What they do add is a much better grip- which also helps manage recoil.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HB1SYCC?pc_redir=1409576638&robot_redir=1
Here is my Scorpion (sorry pics aren't fantastic, just ran outside and did it quick).
CZ Scorpion Evo S1 which I had the body of it cerakoated in titanium. I put on the SBTEVO brace, swapped out the safety for an AK safety (this is about the only real required mod you need to do), added in a GearWorks fast paddle mag release, Magpul rail covers and AFG, Bushnell TRS-25 reddot, and a Handall grip sleeve. I own and tried 2-3 other replacement grips (Yeti, Apex, etc), but I found that the stock one with the Handall was the most comfortable for me.
I went to the range on Saturday (finally! been too long) and posted 2 of my targets. One was 20 rounds at 50 yards, other was 15 rounds at 100 yards. Was done with the TRS-25 reddot. Nothing special, the gun is just really accurate.
Yes. I have them on almost all my "plastic" guns. Slip it on and trim it with a razor blade to custom fit it. I think it's like 6 bucks on amazon.
here you go
Made by Hogue, $8 shipped.
It’s meant for pistols generally, and is very snug so it took a while to fit it, but it looks/feels great.
I like the rubberized texture, and it really does make a difference.
You can get this grip tape tape cheaper though and it works wonderfully - http://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-phones-cameras-knives-tools/dp/B00ATH0KEA
Only thing with that grip tape is you have to cut the pieces yourself and don't expect the full 100% coverage that a fitted Talon can offer. But a few nicely cut strips in the right spots has worked just as well for me as Talon's do.
I carry the same thing in a 9mm. love it. I would recomend buying pearce grips for the 13rd magazines though. Allows your pinky to add support with the shorter magazine.
http://www.amazon.com/Pearce-Springfield-Armory-XD-Extension/dp/B000J4JI14
well one of the first things i did was put a a pearce grip extension on it. my hand does hang off a bit on the bottom of my palm with the 13 rounder but with the 16 i can get a very good grip.
I have the Hogue grip on my P17. It's a tight fit to get it on but once you manage to do it, it greatly improves grip and feel.
$11 at amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014VRS22
I bought it here. I'm really happy with it, although it is pretty hard to get on a full length gen 4 grip.
I've recently started using this stuff.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C7WXTJS/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1410280058&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40
So far it works great. Good grip, not too thick, no problems with the adhesive. Still waiting to see how long it will hold up before the holster wears it out. But it's cheap.
What I did was just take masking tape and put it over the grip. Then I pressed it flat and traced the area I wanted to grip with a pen. Then I put the masking tape on top of the grip tape and cut it out. Worked very well.
Sure! I sweat a lot as well, this tape is some pistol grip tape. I tried artisan tape, but it became really moist and clammy after heavy use GT-5000 (3 strips) Grip Tape for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATH0KEA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
No residue! its great

Pretty sure this is what overthetable was referring to. I might be ordering one soon as well. I've taken off my front sight to paint it and its simple to do. YouTube has plenty of videos on it.
Get you one of these. It is a cheap way to love that easily concealable 7 round mag a lot more.
Amazon.com - Shield 9mm Pearce Magazine Grip Extension
I had the same mindset as OP until recently. I finally got down to a smaller frame Kahr PM40. Carried it for a couple years but it was to large for me to really pocket carry.
I recently traded my wife's Taurus .38 for the Ruger LCP and I was very disappointed. It felt cheap and I couldn't shoot it to save my life. I've always really loved Ruger; so I did some research and decided to make some minor adjustments.
Added a Hogue Sleeve, a Clip extension and a Laser Max. A little over a $100 and it completely transformed the gun for me. I highly recommend for those times that a larger frame firearm isn't ideal.

I think it's well worth it :)
Awesome gun except that it is 40 lol. I found a hogue grip on Amazon and one of the reviews says it works with the p07
https://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Rubber-Grip-Handall-Sleeve/dp/B0014VRS22/ref=cm_rdp_product_img
Awesome gun.
I suggest you get this immediately. You cannot imagine how much better the gun feels and shoots with this on it.
You can thank me later.
Get these for a good front sight replacement. Highly recommend them.
Really nice work!
It's probably a bit easier to use a vinyl wrap or a gun grip. You can find cheap carbon fiber textured vinyl wrap and gun grip on Amazon. I'd recommend gun grip as it's designed to be held with sweaty hands.
pretty sure it's one of these
A while back in /r/pcmasterrace someone posted that they took something like this and cut it to fit their mouse.
Seems like a viable option.
The one thats linked is the "silm" http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Release-Unicorn-Premium-Protective/dp/B015X90UJS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452392332&sr=8-1&keywords=supcase+6p
you can get one one thats not frosted and is pure black http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Release-Unicorn-Premium-Protective/dp/B015X90VGK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1452400067&sr=8-3&keywords=supcase+6p
then i got this http://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-phones-cameras-knives-tools/dp/B00ATH0KEA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1452400163&sr=8-2&keywords=gun+grip maybe excessive but the reviews hype the tape up a lot so maybe a strip down the sides and the case will be good.
Do yourself a favor and get a hogue grip. Makes the gun much more easy and enjoyable to shoot. That bit of rubber makes all the difference in dissipating some of the recoil.
https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00ATH0KEA
I use this one my ec2a and it works like a charm
I have these on my sr and I love the feel to them.

Pick up one of these. Cheap and it makes the 7rd mag awesome. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HB1SYCC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1426956950&sr=8-1&keywords=9mm+shield+grip+extension&dpPl=1&dpID=41Hkm19OFPL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SX200_QL40
I don't use one, but from what I have seen, these two are the most popular grips people use:-
I have never seen another person use that case! That's the first case I bought for my S7 in April of 2017. I bought some [grip tape]
(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATH0KEA/ref=CM_SW_R_CP_APA_NVG-ZBHHTRDVS) designed for gun grips and it made it much more secure feeling. The tape isn't "sticky" but it does provide it with grip. I cut a small strip to put down each side that it wasn't so slippery. It still slipped in and out of pockets just fine.
Nice EDC
edit: link formatting
Mine is rocking one of these. I'm very happy with it.
I'm really happy with mine. I picked it up last week. Already put Truglo TFO sights on it and this for the small mag.
I haven't used it but this stuff looks good
https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00ATH0KEA#customerReviews
Look at the reviews to see a few mice that people used it on.
Your OG LCP is a great little gun. Add a grip sleeve to make it more pleasant to shoot.

That's more or less our setup. Great shooter.
Rosewoods came with it, and then I added Pearce Grips under them. Amazing upgrade for $12.
I carry a Shield 9 too I don't know how big your hands are but check this grip extension out, it really helps with 7 round magazines.
I've heard some recommend this:
https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00ATH0KEA/ref=sr_1_5?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1518988075&sr=1-5&keywords=grip+tape
And yeah I might look about swapping it out if I end up deciding this is the mouse for me.
I haven't run it for extended periods on high yet, but playing around with it, it's gotten pretty hot and no issues yet. It's made for guns so I imagine they took that into account.. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATH0KEA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I always wanted to get new grips for my CZ but could never justify the cost of VZ grips.
I got these Pachmayr grips for less than half the price and I got to say they feel real nice in my hands.
They are thinner than the stock rubber grips.
You can put a Hogue Handall slip on over whatever grip you use.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WYH00S?th=1&psc=1
I have that one over the stock grip right now but it was an extremely tight fit getting it on there.
Agreed with the other posts here. I recommend getting a grip sleeve with it.
This will work on the star with a little trimming if you want to make it a little more comfortable.
With the hogue grip and pinky grip magazine baseplate extension, the gun is easily twice as controllable as compared to without.
I suggest using the hogue non-LCP specific grip:
http://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Rubber-Handall-Small-Sleeve/dp/B000H6GZI8
Then trim it accordingly. You get more grip material than with their purpose-built model.
I think you can also get an extended magazine for the LCP nowadays, which when coupled with a magazine grip extension, would make it even more comfortable at the sacrifice of size obviously.
Have you tried adding one of the Hogue grips to the LCP?
http://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Handall-Hybrid-Ruger-Sleeve/dp/B004Y8AYGE
It's supposed to be a significant improvement to how it feels in your hand. I haven't tried one yet, but it's on my list.
seems like not really much of a deal. Kimber sells rubber grips for $17. You can find Hogue rubber grips for around $18. What makes these worth $25-$27.50?
I just got the finger extension plate, but for what ever reason when I bought the gun I decided to get it in .40 so this is just the 6rd magazine. But they are pretty cheap on amazon. I'll look up the info and post a link.
Edit: link for grip extension
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HB1SYCC/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Buy one of these: GT-5000 (3 strips) Grip Tape for guns, cell phones, cameras, knives, tools - makes anything "Grippy". https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATH0KEA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_JPNrzb9S7WF1W
Then use masking tape (or painters tape) to make a "mold" of the shape of the Joetsu Grip that you will use to cut the Grip Tape. You'll spend about an hour to make a custom skin for the Joetsu Grip but the result is very satisfying.
I don't have the Joetsu Grip but I do have a RC controller that's made from slippery plastic and I know how frustrating it is to try to hold something like that for long periods. I also have a Vita grip but I'm only using it for the back triggers.
I fucking love my $150 45 hi point. You can easily change it to accept 1911 mags and even 45 drum mags
The stock grips are bad though. These $10 overlays make a huge difference.
Also a $7 rubber grip comes in handy.
The stock magazine has never given me a problem. Not one jam/malfunction with it.
I did buy a 14 rnd promag that was giving me problems until I bent the feeding lips on the magazine, and also noticed the promags will go in the gun too high, that's why they have that obnoxious huge pieces of plastic on them to keep it from going higher. They slide right off though so i didn't notice until i put it back on what the problem was.
FWIW I never minded the trigger, especially after a few hundred rounds, and if you can spend a little time to customize it this stuff is pretty dope for grip.
This is the tape I used. It was the only one I found that shipped to germany =) https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-Strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00C7WXTJS
For the DA I like to use 2 layers of gun grip rather than lizard skins.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7WXTJS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
These grips are more robust and will not move or need to be replaced any time soon.
Used "gun grip" tape on all my lenses, works like a charm!

Here you go :)
IMO, adding a talon grip wrap really helps.
That is something I definitely know I need to change. The current grips trap sweat between my hand and the grip and really amplify my lack of skill with the gun. I prefer, aesthetically, something with a natural wood finish yet I would like the finger grooves. These are something I've considered but I've heard that they fall apart pretty quick despite the high rating.
If changing the finish of the gun is just a bad idea then I've not a problem leaving it the way it is; I just wanted to know if it's feasible or if nickel or stainless steel finish is something which must be on the gun when purchased. I guess I just want to maximize the fit of the gun to my hand and know if there is anything that you might recommend as a must do alteration for the longevity of the gun?
You can't qualify with a .22lr in Texas. (I believe it has to be .32 or larger)
I would practice more. Try investing in a Hogue slip-on grip.
http://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Rubber-Handall-Small-Sleeve/dp/B000H6GZI8
Also, how experienced are you with shooting pistols? I also live in Houston in case you need any tips that might make it easier.
It's the Hogue Handall Hybrid: http://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Handall-Hybrid-Ruger-Sleeve/dp/B004Y8AYGE
I really recommend it, it makes a world of difference on the LCP.
I carry an LCP. For me, it got a whole hell of a lot more comfortable to shoot when I got these cheap upgrades:
Hogue grip
Grip extension
Recoil Spring
I also put a laser on mine, which I haven't replaced the battery on. It provides even more grip, as I can place my offhand thumb onto the wider trigger guard that the laser attachment provides.
It's still not a delight to shoot, but it got a lot easier for me when I got the aforementioned items.
Here you go.
It's easier than installing 1911 grips. Literally remove the screws, pop out the rubber ones, then make sure you slide in the new ones so they're flush, then screw it in.
Couple ways to get your grips like that.
http://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-phones-cameras-knives-tools/dp/B00ATH0KEA
http://talongungrips.com/
I was thinking of something like this. Supposedly, it's designed for this purpose, though I don't have first-hand experience.
If the grip on the glock is all thats holding you back you can get rubber grips to slip over like these from hogue or you can hit the grip with some light sand paper to knock the texture down.
Thanks! It's GT5000 gun grip tape found it on Amazon, for me it's too slippery to be used on the sides. I've been thinking to try lizard skins or the Hotline Grips.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATH0KEA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EuwoDbX8Q55B3
Use THIS. Take your time cutting it out in the right shape. It works great and its not permanent.
Good luck.
As was mentioned check out the talon grips. Also, if you're using the 7 round magazine, try adding a Pearce Grips mag extension or switching to the 8 round magazine.
If the height is OK but you want something a bit thicker, consider making a switch to a Glock 26.
I reluctantly paid $380 for my shield. Love the gun though. Its my new carry. You need one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Pearce-Grips-Magazine-Extension-Shield/dp/B00HB1SYCC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426522499&sr=8-1&keywords=pearce+grip+extension+shield
Holy crap, just looked at Pachmayr grips... these things are beautiful:
http://www.amazon.com/Pachmayr%C2%AE-Rosewood-Rubber-Grips-Colt%C2%AE/dp/B000KOVND4
Will grip tape like this or this stick to a matte model O? I assume it will but with the honeycomb shell thought I'd ask before ordering
I also got the 13lb recoil spring from Galloway Precision. I also got a Hougue Grip and Pierce mag extensions. It made it alot more comfortable to shoot.
With this tape vs the stock plastic and this gun tape, I don't have to grip the mouse nearly as hard and it isn't slippery at all. I highly recommend it.
The GT-5000 stuff is okay but... well... yeah, it's just okay. Kinda helps I guess but it's still kind of slippery and the texture is weird. This may just be personal preference though.
I'm talking about this Pearce grip extension. Ruger makes some that come on factory mags that are quite similar. It doesn't fit my pinky either, I'm not sure why I called it that. But it does help my grip a bit. I also just found this thing. I've never seen it except just now when I was searching for a link.
Got a link for that?
You should check out the Pearce Grips extension for your smaller mags. It's almost the same length of the extended mag, makes the gun feel a lot nicer in your hands.
i tried a couple skins and thought they were too slick, made my own out of https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-Strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00C7WXTJS They make an actual skin for the 5/se which probably looks nicer, but I didn't want it wrapped around the front, and I think it costs more
hiya! I got the gun tape from amazon US. It took like 4-5 days to get to me in Northern Ireland. I ordered it here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATH0KEA/
I'm not sure how it got here so fast :P
I bought it off Amazon back in Dec '15 and it seems that it's off the website for now. I paid $82 and change with prime shipping at the time.
Midway USA has it for $88
Also as I mentioned before, check out Talon Grips for ~$18
It's a pearce extended grip, got it on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HB1SYCC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521486431&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=pearce+grip+extension+shield&dpPl=1&dpID=41Hkm19OFPL&ref=plSrch
I have this one on my shield. It works fine and is much nicer to shoot over the flush floorplate. At only $8 what's to loose?
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/620529827

And don't forget grips.
There ya go.

It is rubberized. Cheap and really makes a difference. Used on iPhone too because it kept slipping out of my hands.
https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00ATH0KEA
This would be gorgeus with the surfaces of the slide serations polished and this or VZs.
> mouse tape
He's referring to a grip tape which can often be found made for pistols.
I've slapped on both sides of my FK2 since 2015 and now I can't live without it.
I do this on a set of aero road bars. I do it less for gripping them and more for being able to IAB on them. I also do not use skateboard grip tape, I use this gun grip stuff which isn't as abrasive and lasts forever (https://www.amazon.com/GT-5000-strips-phones-cameras-knives/dp/B00ATH0KEA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1499852130&sr=8-4&keywords=gun+grip+tape)

I'm going to try some rubberized marine grade grip tape someone told me about. I imagine it's similar to this stuff.

This brand.
I got the grip from amazon. For a proper installation you might want to do a little trimming around the top, but out of the box it goes on just fine. No need to heat the grip up or anything... Takes a little man handling but goes on and stays on.
I didn't like the front sight on my Ruger GP100 (was flat black), so I replaced it with this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EBUG4K
It came with a couple of different colors, I ended up on green/yellow.
They who? I found this tape on Amazon and there are no restrictions by shipping. I don't know about laws but it's a tape why there can be any restrictions? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ATH0KEA/
I do this regularly in holoball because I shift my grip to change the angle of the paddles. After a particularly vicious swipe, the game sometimes pauses because I grip the controller tighter.
On another note, I have very bad RSI, to the point that half my hand will go numb when gripping a hammer, drill, computer mouse or vive controller. I still haven't thrown a controller yet. I'm really not sure how so many are chucking theirs across the room. I did replace the wrist straps, though. Not worth the risk.
I wonder if grip tape would be a good idea. Something like this.
Everything on this gun is enormous. Changed my stock grip to Hogue. Problem solved!
This is what I bought, not sure if it fits your baby or not :)

I ordered mine from amazon.com, still taking a couple of days to get here... there was no two day shipping option. Cant wait to try these :

Pearce pinky extention. Best $10 you'll spend on that gun. Gives you the control of the extended magazine, but without the extra weight (and doesn't change how the gun prints either)

You could potentially add gun tape to the worn out part and use it as a back up to your new one.
Absolutely. Comes with a few replacement pipes in different colors too. It's a piece of cake to put on. There is a small plunger on the muzzle beneath the front sight. Hit that with a punch and it pops right off, new one slides right in. Takes less than 30 seconds.
No plans to replace the rear, I dig the adjustable sight.
I believe they are these. I have then on both my 1911s. http://www.amazon.com/Pearce-Grips-Government-Rubber-Finger/dp/B0002INNYU
This picture is a bad representation. There is a small rubber panel under whatever grip you have with the finger grooves in the front.
It's a Hogue grip sleeve (Rubber Grip Handall Jr. Small Size Grip Sleeve)

It's a teeny gun, and it's a 9mm, so it's a challenge to control it. I made kind of a crappy cut along the bottom, but it doesn't affect my grip. If it bugs me enough I'll buy another one and be more careful next time.
The one i use has no problem adhering. But there seem to be alot of different brands of grip tape (prolly just the same in the end).
This is the stuff i use:
