22. TROND Bluetooth V4.2 Receiver Wireless 3.5mm Aux Adapter, AptX Low Latency, Volume Control & Smart Codec Indicator, for Wired Headphones or Speakers

    Features:
  • LATEST BLUETOOTH V4.2 RECEIVER. TROND BT-RX S adopts the premium CSR64215 chipset, and is perhaps the first Bluetooth V4.2 receiver (without microphone) available in the market, whereas most other wireless receivers are still BT V4.0/3.0/2.1. Please note that the internal chipset determines what you can get, including audio quality & low latency
  • LIP-SYNC SUPERIOR AUDIO QUALITY. CSR64215 chipset supports both aptX and aptX Low Latency. AptX delivers high-quality stereo audio over Bluetooth; aptX Low Latency can effectively reduce the audio delay from 150 ms (Bluetooth V4.0/3.0/2.1) to 30-40 ms, and allows you to watch video wirelessly without noticeable audio lag. Please order TROND BT-DUO S transmitter (ASIN: B01K8ANDCI) to take full advantage of aptX Low Latency
  • SMART CODEC INDICATOR. What really differentiates TROND BT-RX S from other receivers is that it can tell you which codec is active after you start playing music. Its blue LED would blink once every 10 seconds for SBC, blink twice for aptX, and blink three times for aptX Low Latency
  • UNWIRE YOUR OLD HEADPHONES. TROND BT-RX S can upgrade your old wired headphones (such as Bose QC25/QC15) or speakers with Bluetooth wireless functionality. It allows you to play/pause music, turn volume up/down, and select track forward/backward. The irreplaceable 200mAh rechargeable battery can provide up to 10-hour working time & 200-hour standby time, and it also supports working while charging. (NO hands-free calling due to lack of microphone)
  • WHAT YOU GET: TROND BT-RX S Bluetooth V4.2 Receiver, 3.5mm male-to-male aluminum audio adapter, 3.5mm male-to-male audio cable (50cm extra-long), 3.5mm female to RCA male audio cable, USB charging cable, Welcome Guide

Have you guys heard of the Cobblestone? muzohifi.com

It's a wi-fi audio device that allows you to hook up your speakers to the wi-fi in your home. I have two devices and it allows me to hook up the multi-room feature and includes streaming services like Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio and some other integrations across seas. It's been pretty cool because they're planning to add more services and they update through their firmware.

They're about $59 a piece on Amazon. It's more expensive than the Chromecast, but definitely cheaper than buying a couple of Sonos speakers. More features than Chromecast forsure, but I guess it depends on what you're looking for and how much you're willing to pay? Love mine so far!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N9NZIKM/ref=s9_simh_gw_g23_i2_r?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=0ZA82APFTRXD3CFB0SJW&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2079475242&pf_rd_i=desktop

There are solutions to networking speakers that are cheaper than Sonos. Airplay can do this (play on multiple wireless speakers) but is challenging from phones, in my experience.

The cheapest, in my experience, is the technology that drives the Fabriq speakers (https://shop.thefabriq.com/). The underlying technology is made by LinkPlay and as far as I can tell they all work together (https://linkplay.com/featured-products/). For example, in my house, I have a big Fabriq which is a voice activated alexa device and 5 or so Fabriq Riff's which are small not voice activated alexa devices. I also have a Cobblestone (https://www.amazon.com/MUZO-Cobblestone-Wi-Fi-Audio-Receiver/dp/B00N9NZIKM) which might not be available anymore which is connected to amplifier and a subwoofer. Even though it's not published the Cobblestone and Fabriq's work fine together and I can play Amazon or Spotify streaming across all of them or I can just use my phone as an Airplay device and stream to one or more speakers over wifi in my house. With the subwoofer they sound great and cost less than $400.

I use one of these in transmitter mode:

[TROND Bluetooth V4.1 Transmitter Receiver / Wireless 3.5mm Audio Adapter with aptX Low Latency & aptX for Both TX & RX, Dual Stream and Volume Controller] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K8ANDCI)

It can be a little finicky automatically connecting with my BT headphones but that's because I multipair alongside my phone. Tapping the button to cause it to reinitiate connection generally works though, in those uncommon cases when it's necessary. Otherwise it's worked very well.

Keep in mind that your headset latency matters greatly. I have one set that is very near synced, whether with this or my phone, and another set that is very much not. Even the good one is a little off for demanding things like rhythm games or competitive fighters.

This unit supports aptx low latency though, so if you can find a set of headphones that also support aptx-ll then you'll be golden. Otherwise you might have luck of the draw, but I can vouch for the transmitter's side of the performance.

Good luck. Prob best to just get an AD2P (BT stereo streaming protocol) to aux device, they are pretty cheap these days. Just google 'AD2P aux' and take your pick, e.g. $10 for this guy: https://www.amazon.com/Leegoal-Portable-Bluetooth-Handsfree-Streaming/dp/B00JRWGPEW

u/emceegull · 1 pointr/DIY

Thanks! You actually inspired me to find this, which is probably a more ideal solution.

u/Joe-Linux · 1 pointr/headphones

For anyone looking for a budget alternative, I just picked up the TaoTronics TT-BR010 last monday and i have been loving it. The audio quality isnt anything game changing, but it isn't bad by any means. I have been using it for the past 8 work days and i still haven't had to charge it. For casual listening while working it is absolutely perfect if you don't want to spend the $100 on the EarStudios.

u/will626 · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

Makes a lot more sense now. Thanks! I would love to get a chromecast audio but I see they do not support apple music and thats honestly the only music streaming app that will be used.

How would this be: https://www.amazon.com/Sonos-CONNECT-Wireless-Amplifier-Streaming/dp/B001CROHU4/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1522311639&sr=1-3&keywords=sonos+amp&dpID=41BbKL2uKbL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Also, is it enough of an amp for the klipsch speakers in my original post?

u/your-tosis · 2 pointsr/ElectricalEngineering

This module isn't specifically designed for audio, so there would be a bit of extra work for you if you wanted to use this. One that works quite well that I've used several times is the xs3868 module.

http://www.amazon.com/XS3868-Bluetooth-Stereo-OVC3860-Supports/dp/B00K85FW4G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452156373&sr=8-1&keywords=bluetooth+audio+module

Datasheet (lots of Chinese, but scroll down to page 6 for useful info): http://www.icstation.com/ebay/PDF/XS3868M.pdf

These things are exceedingly simple to work with. They're designed to work with lipo batteries, which means 4.2v-3v on pin 12, GND (obviously) connect output pins 2, 3 and 4 and you're pretty much set.

Your phone/computer will recognize it as an audio device - select it as the output and you're done!

u/wonkeydoreyy · 2 pointsr/audio

Awesome, thanks for the help. Do you think the Sonos Connect:AMP will work?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CROHU4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

u/dilpreet83 · 3 pointsr/GalaxyNote9

Bad news first. Phone audio does not work via USB connection in My Nissan Murano. Google search shows many people complaining about same issue.

Good news.. there are USB bluetooth audio adapters available in the market that can connect to the usb port and allow you to play music wirelessly. I would recommend buying one of those first and trying it with the iphone Bluetooth connection. If that works then you are good to go :)

Here are few options I found on amazon in my quick search

https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Receiver-Adapter-Speaker-Headphone/dp/B072MN7YST/

https://www.amazon.com/QOFOWIN-Bluetooth-Receiver-Wireless-receiver-new/dp/B074WQRPFG/

u/patrickswayzemullet · 1 pointr/headphones

https://www.amazon.com/HRT-348-MicroStreamer/dp/B00B4YE5BG

I use this for my 558. I mainly game and watch movies, can work up to 250 Ohm. It's bright.

It's small so it just looks like one of those gaming 7.1 soundcard and can be tucked away.

Pretty cool.

u/wear_a_helmet · 2 pointsr/spotify

I haven't used it, but the reviews are largely positive (http://www.amazon.com/Gramofon-Player-Speakers-Featuring-Spotify/dp/B00KGX4L24/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415796767&sr=8-1&keywords=gramofon).

The biggest downside I can see right now is that it does't have USB output (or any other digital out), that will allow use with an external DAC. A second point of complaint would be lack of scrobbling support for last.fm.

Apart from that, it is a really interesting alternative to Sonos. At 49USD, it is worth a try.

u/CrackAnus · 2 pointsr/audiophile

You can use a Bluetooth to line-level or SPDIF device to bring audio into almost whatever audio system you'd like:

https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-4-1-Transmitter-Receiver-Wireless/dp/B0756QL4VV

https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Bluetooth-Speaker-Headphone-Receiver/dp/B075KLZL32

To connect to each of your tactile speakers/digital amplifiers, you might consider a distribution amplifier. This distribution amplifier splits a line-level signal:

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Video-Splitter-Cable-Analog/dp/B019OJM7D0

Models like this also powers speakers, with individual volume control:

https://www.amazon.com/Improved-Selector-Distribution-Amplifier-speakers/dp/B0013CH7UK

A receiver might be helpful if you're using multiple sources frequently. Ensure that it has some kind of pre-out so that you can feed a line-level signal into the amplifiers you've linked, or into another amplifier. Note that integrated surround receivers do not necessarily replicate one signal across all channels, nor do they necessarily provide control over speakers individually.

u/deviltrombone · 1 pointr/headphones

I actually bought a TROND receiver so I can use my MDR-1000x with a second device without having to re-pair it every time. Of course, I also had to buy a special cable due to the Sony's non-standard 3.5mm jack. BTW, the TROND works exceptionally well. It pairs instantly to my Apple TV 4, and it drives the headphones louder than their built-in amp. Great deal for $20. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M9I0LSK/

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel2

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M9I0LSK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use this for my wired headphones and it has been great. Sound quality is excellent as well. Allows the phone to be charged.

u/ryansmith18 · 1 pointr/homeautomation

I'm in the same boat as you. Bought this a couple months ago and I've loved it.

Bluetooth Receiver/Bluetooth AUX... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D2C9K2X?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It's not as ideal as a Bluetooth emailed unit built into the car, but it's done well enough for me. Press the button to turn it on when I get in the car and it automatically reconnects to my phone. Press the button to turn it off when I reach my destination and it stops my Spotify or podcast.

I think the only problem using this for you would be the limitations of your phone. You might consider upgrading that first. It's super handy to turn on the Bluetooth unit and say "hey Google, let's go to work" and have it do a variety of things like starting navigation, resuming my podcast, and telling me how traffic is looking. When I get home it's "hey Google, I'm home" and it turns on the lights inside before I get to the door.

u/k1ngm1nu5 · 1 pointr/audiophile

I think there's something like this that was on kick starter, called like gramophone or something...

Edit: found it! Here's an amazon link. Dunno if it does everything you want, but I think its at least pretty close.

u/Agentmore · 1 pointr/PrintedCircuitBoard

The part number is called XS3868 and its notorious for not having very good documentation. The one i have says "Ver 3.0" on the back of the PCB.

I found a few things online that really help (this post in EEVBlog forum especially)but nothing definitive that confirms its for my "Ver 3.0" board. Anyway from measuring it myself with a ruler (Really hard to do since its so tiny) i am almost certain that these are the correct dimensions . The 1.3mm is the pitch between pad centers, but the pad width is about 0.9mm (i found a document that says the pad width is 0.7mm but this is definitely not the case for the Ver3 one i got) which leaves a 0.4mm width between edges of adjacent pads. The thickness of the PCB is about 0.75mm (height of the castellations) and the thickness from bottom of the PCB to top of highest component is about 2mm.

Here is a pinout diagram that i believe is correct based on what i could find online. You can ignore that the numbering starts at 16 and just start from 1. Also the ones with different fonts (some of which have question marks) i had to fill in based on another document i found.

I hope this helps. I have already started working on a component library for it in altium which you can download here. But keep in mind that i am a complete novice and this is my first time designing anything from scratch (not just in altium, but in any PCB software). I haven't had much time to dedicate to it since i have finals coming up, but i got started on the pads, i am having trouble gettings the dimensions exactly correct. Also i have no idea if i made the board outline correct. I intentionally made the pads very long to make it easier to solder but i am not sure if this is the correct technique (or if longer pads will actually make it easier or just cause a mess).

Thanks so much for the offer!

One of these:

iSimple IS31 Antenna Bypass FM Modulator for Factory or Aftermarket Car Radios https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002U5XPBE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_k2YVCb4TM22NZ

Basically it goes inline with your antenna wire, and then plugs into the stereo jack on your phone (as an interrupt). I haven't touched my radio in YEARS.
Tune to the station the device is set at (around 87.3 or something) and you're set.
It DOES (hardly) interfere with signal, but it's minimal and goes back when you turn it off. I have the power to mine go on when I turn my stereo on.

Pairs well with one of these, which allows you to rid of the wire all together by using bluetooth.

There are cheaper ones, but this is the one I've got.

Bluetooth Car Adapter with 2 Built-in Mics, 15 Hours Hands-Free Talking Bluetooth Receiver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CPL947B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_G4YVCb82Q0PTN

As a bonus, while you've got your dash disassembled, this works well too. Get rid of your cigarette lighter, and replace it with a permanent USB Quick Charge jack. This one is silver, but they have others.

I have this one, but I noticed after six months of use that it only outputs to one earcup instead of two from my HDTV to my headphones. Can anyone suggest the best Bluetooth Transmitter for a TV that won't have problems like this?

u/msim609078 · 1 pointr/hometheater

Yeah I was looking at some of those, I think 6 speakers would be ideal (since the space is a rectangle, 20x60 from front door to back of loft)

looks like this one supports 4 speakers:

I understand you don't want to buy bluetooth headphones. I'm not sure there's a great solution to allow you to charge and listen at the same time. An in-between would be something like this Bluetooth to 3.5mm receiver. At least with this you could use your current headphones over Bluetooth while you charge. No great solutions in #donglelife.

Yep, I have one of these, it's both a transmitter and receiver (i actually have two and use them to connect any two devices wirelessly, like my phone and headphones, or my home stereo to something, etc. Very useful thing to have around, both for sending and receiving.

I'd recommend an HRT MicroStreamer or Dragonfly for those looking for a great quality DAC that won't add too much weight.

I'll try to keep tabs on everything but let me know if there are any errors or price updates. And as a side note, I'm actually getting downvotes for this? I can't see how there could possibly be a sane explanation for that.

I'm using this and a 3.5-mm cable to broadcast Bluetooth with the Switch (unidirectional of course):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0756QL4VV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If your headset also supports aptX LL (low latency) then the delay is very small, around 40 ms.

There are a few Bluetooth transmitters that support TRRS (audio and mic) out there, so I think that it's theoretically possible to get voice working too with something like that. But you'd still need a native app on the Switch (like Discord) to take advantage of it.

Wireless speakers are a gamble. E.g., if you look at wireless surround setup reviews on Amazon, you see two camps: people who get them to work and are happy, and people who have some local source of RF interference that prevents them from working.

You really have to pick up one of the transceiver sets and see if they work for you.

u/corianas · 1 pointr/gaming

would something like this help?

Would turn it into a bluetooth feature in the car, and works from the power supplied by the port itself.

This is what i use. i hot glued the bluetooth adaptor to the bottom of the earmuff. rechargable bluetooth audio with no wires. Marc from the wood whisperer has a good video that inspired me on this setup.

(Don't need your phone,) Get yourself a Bluetooth receiver, something like this one. You can plug any headphones into it and it connects to the Fire device via Bluetooth to stream audio directly to your ears. MAKE SURE the one you get has volume controls however as this is not an option on the fire device. Enjoy!

I had this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CPL947B/ref=emc_b_5_iTakes too long to connect my phone to it every day.I used one at work too.The cds come on instantly.

I am down the road a couple miles still trying to connect when using the adapter, when it worked.

Where do I get these free downloadable albums though? I have a burner.

I am okay with devolving till my next truck.

You can buy a Bluetooth done for the iPod dock.i have a couple of these and they work great.

I just bought this last week. Basically turns your AUX input on the car into a bluetooth receiver. It's been great so far.

u/smithincanton · 1 pointr/pebble

Tell me about it! Here are a list of things I have connected to my phone.

Kickstarter Ed. Pebble

Plantronics Backbeat Go headphones

Sennheiser MM 550-X headphones

The amazing YU5 shelf speakers

Cheap bluetooth audio for car

OBD2 Adapter for the car (read/clear engine fault codes, read live sensor data, etc.)

iMpulse game controller

I would like to add an activity tracker as getting the data out of the pebble is still wonky.

u/brucewillus · 2 pointsr/essential

One workaround I stumbled on is a tiny Bluetooth receiver that you can plug your existing headphones into. Then you can still charge your phone and listen to music, or plug the receiver into your aux port. It's not perfect, but it's cheap and works better than nothing.

This is the adapter I have:

It only has an AUX in, and it comes with two cables - a 3.5mm and an RCA.
Just reading more about this adapter - I don't think it can support multiple Bluetooth headphones!

u/eneka · 1 pointr/cars

Do you have an auction port? I'd get a aux to Bluetooth. Much better quality with that.

u/deplorable-d00d · 3 pointsr/BudgetAudiophile

Everyone's over thinking it -

If the reciever has tape outs (or optical SPDIF out), simply pick up a (non-battery operated) bluetooth transmitter for around $30-40 on amazon, and then a cheap bluetooth speaker of any kind (if it's battery only - get a USB power plug and leave it plugged in). She can move it around from room to room if needed too.

If the range doesn't work well, extend the bluetooth transmitter out away from the receiver with a long set of RCA cables or something.

Total cost: around $50-70

Hard part - teaching her how to pair it. But once done, it should be fine.

My link to the transmitter was just an example, i do not own it - just trying to help fuel an idea for you.

u/lollytop · 1 pointr/vinyl

I dont reccomend that because the compression that media goes through when transmitted over bluetooth brings it down to MP3 level. But if that's what you want to do, then something like this would work. I would only do that with Prime because these things are pretty hit or miss and I would expect to return at least 1.

u/Dick_Nixon69 · 3 pointsr/Fiat

I have this one. It works well for me, as I mostly listen to podcasts with it so I don't need great sound quality. Music quality is not great though. I would consider it bareable when you turn the Bluetooth volume down a little bit and up on the stereo, but if I wanted music for a longer trip I would use an aux cable. Using the USB port it does turn on when the key is turned on, and pairs to my phone automatically, I like having it.

u/maximalx5 · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I just got this for my Bose QC20s. The sound quality is surprisingly good and this allows my phone at least to be wireless. There's also the more expensive Fiio BTR1, but I couldn't find it in Canada.

u/Rasto76 · 1 pointr/Nexus5

Good suggestion about using a usb port with more juice -> Unfortunately the device I have this doesn't support using it while it is charging.

But for 20 bucks, I might end up buying one like yours!

u/pdxiowa · 1 pointr/MINI

I bought QOFOIN USB bluetooth adapter from Amazon ($12.99) for my 2012 R60 countryman. It automatically connects to my iPhone as soon as I turn the car on, and my phone remains connected to the R60 for hands-free calling. Unfortunately, it does require using the included aux cord so song information is not displayed on the console. On the other hand, it is compact enough that it doesn't end up an eye sore (in my opinion).

u/NorthDrive · 1 pointr/netflix

I recommend [this Bluetooth transmitter](http://Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0756QL4VV?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) that lets you use wireless headphones with Netflix. If you use Apple TV this function is built in.

u/TurtleSub · 1 pointr/shutupandtakemymoney

I like this one for half the price. It doesn't use a cord that will break and it really small. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JRWGPEW/

u/mechanicalgod · 3 pointsr/virtualreality

I use this with my non-wireless headphones. Maybe something like that would suit your needs?

u/Matthevv2 · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

As MrGforse said, you can get a smaller length cable for use with the Vive. I use my Vmoda M100's just fine with my Vive.

You can use things like this and this to transform your wired headphones into wireless however there will probably be some loss in quality.

u/TheBigMissel · 1 pointr/BMW

A device like this: http://www.amazon.com/Portable-Wireless-Bluetooth-Handsfree-Streaming/dp/B00JRWGPEW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1411195650&sr=8-3&keywords=bluetooth+receiver could solve your problem. This was the first item I found on amazon but I believe it just works as an external Bluetooth receiver. There you would pair the phone to the device and just store the receiver out of sight, in your case, inside the center console. Reviews seem decent but I would do more research yourself.

u/RemmyNHL · 2 pointsr/audiophile

Oh yea you're right it is rca on the back. I bought this to plug into it. It seems to work in the ipod/mp3 jack. The jack labeled "headphone" does not fit.

u/squid1178 · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

I've been using this for 2 weeks and it drives my monoprice 8323 headphones just fine. It was $12.99 when I bought it. The only problem I've had is that it doesn't have a clip to attach to your shirt but I used velcro to attach it to my headphones

u/sayhisam1 · 1 pointr/diyelectronics

I'm not sure what VCC stands for - can you elaborate more on that?

As for LiPo, I do plan to use a LiPo 3.7 volt battery to power the board; Is this not an option?

The actual board I am planning to buy is this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K85FW4G

It takes in 3.6 - 4.2 volts dc, according to its specifications, so assuming that isn't incorrect, it should work with a LiPo battery.

u/vicwong · 1 pointr/xboxone

I use this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K8ANDCI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It can be either a transmitter or a receiver by flipping a switch. When I plug it into the controller I push the pairing button on it and on the headphones and they connect.

Neither device has a screen so there's no name or choice of transmitter; they just see each other. I guess you could run into problems if you have multiple items trying to pair bluetooth at the same time, but that hasn't happened to me yet.

Amazon has some decent and cheap BT transmitters, especially the newer v4.1 ones who have less audio lag. They usually come with the RCA adaptor included.

Then you can use a BT headset, the generic brands are cheap. Also look for newer protocol specs for minimum delay. However, if you're set on using the Denons, 2 of these may do the trick for you.

Don't invest in radio headphones, they are very susceptible to interference and most of them have a hiss in the background.
