Hey, welcome to the family!

Glad you are loving your Q. I joined back in April with my 2015 Black Q50S. Couldn't be happier with it!

Here are a couple accessories you might be interested in, since before long you'll start to wonder where all the in-car storage is! The one downside to the Q50 (apart from the IT system) is the small amount of storage inside the car.

I'm not the seller in either of these links, btw. I bought these myself and have found them incredibly useful.

Also, here's a good lookin' key fob I picked up that looks pretty snazzy! (Again not the seller.)

Happy driving!

It looks like you're sorted already but you might have a look at these steering wheel attachments as well.

I used to use one when I worked in security and it worked pretty well! Was able to make good use of it even with a big, heavy 17 inch laptop.

u/Mattums · 2 pointsr/tifu

Whenever I feel like life is getting me down, I read this review (or watch the Aww Joby video) and whatever I was thinking about before that point is pretty much chased away by laughter. I think it was on some post (can't remember where) that had a bunch of funny Amazon reviews.

This was another product they listed, almost all of the reviews are priceless... https://www.amazon.com/AutoExec-Wheelmate-Steering-Attachable-Surface/dp/B00E1D1GY6#customerReviews

Enjoy!

I undestand that this would come with a warning and the majority of people that would get one wouldn't use it while driving, but it's always the minority that spoils things, right?

Here's the page

The comments are pretty funny though, worth a read:

>My husband Brad always warns me not to try and update my Facebook page while I'm driving. "You'll hit another pedestrian," he says. "This isn't the Enterprise, there isn't a deflector array." Then along comes a miracle product like this! I can now happily fly at warp speed down the streets of Los Angeles, laptop or mobile device perched right in front of me, so I can keep both eyes right on it AND on the road. It's so much easier to ignore all the frightened screams and annoying honking when you've got Facebook to look at while driving. Thank you, Wheelmate!

Block out time on your schedule to do follow-ups.

Block out time to study and learn about selling. If you think you're a natural sales person then you're not. The most knowledgeable sales person is the one that understands they know nothing. Many people have an aptitude for sales but not the ability or willingness to learn and grow. The difference between a good sales person and an extraordinary one is someone who is willing to learn and grow. ABL. Always be learning.

Have dedicated office time. Some sales people become very distant from the office because they start and end their day from home. Stay connected with your office staff. Show your face and make sure you don't become that person outside who they never see.

Keep yourself mobile. Always have a laptop and hotspot and some type of mobile office kit. My colleague has a sweet little setup that fits on the passenger seat. I've used a cheap little table that hooks to the steering wheel (for when you're not actually driving).

Your business should have goals and quotas. Track your closing rate. I've had many people that think they're doing well only to discover they're only closing 30% of their leads and it should be 50 to 60% (that will depend on your industry of course). Take some of the office time to figure that out.

Number one mistake people make is they confuse what is urgent with what is important. Dedicate time on your schedule to what is important. Make it part of your office time.

Sorry if I answered more than what you asked but I got on a roll.

EDIT: Added links to the mobile office stuff.

Introducing the Car Desk - Ever feel like you are wasting time while driving? Now you can work and drive - or have a nice meal - or watch whatever your heart desires on your computer -use your phone as a wireless hotspot and access the internet!

u/dzuczek · 1 pointr/Pontiac

the car doesn't need any mods, it's cool already :)

the most expensive work I had to do was replace the A/C, maybe others have some horror stories

some little known issues I've had:

  • check and replace the rear differential fluid. having old fluid causes strange noises and bad things to happen if the metal grinds down. you can buy a diff reload kit on amazon that includes a little pump and fluid.
  • if you have the stock chrome wheels, have them checked because slow leaks will pop up since the interior is aluminum and cracks easily
  • get some MAF cleaner, the air sensor inside your air intake gets dirty sometimes and can throw deceptive engine codes

    cheap mods to do:

  • shorty/nub antenna - I think stock is way too long
  • windrestrictor - does get a little breezy with the top down, this helps, plus there's a lot of cool designs if you want one, I think some manufacturers have backlit ones too
  • fitted luggage - not a lot of storage so this would help https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015ZF57M/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl
  • lil chromies - for some interior accent http://www.ddmworks.com/Lil-Chromies_p_529.html

    performance mods to do:

  • only a little power boost, but an aftermarket air intake is easy to install, plus it will clean up the engine compartment - the stock intake + airbox takes up a lot of room
  • brace kit is highly recommended http://www.ddmworks.com/SolsticeSky-Brace-Bundle-by-DDMWorks_p_302.html

http://www.solsticeforum.com has a lot more info about mods and such

The reviews are actually pretty funny.

Reminds me of the reviews for AutoExec Wheelmate Steering Wheel Attachable Work Surface Tray. I wish they still allowed pictures.

u/Guack007 · 1 pointr/Showerthoughts

I actually just bough this for my Miata and they worked perfectly and now I have a secure place for my phone as well as preventing the inevitable day my keys decide to fall out of my pocket while driving.

TSI 80115 Black Mini Clutter Catcher
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AV3WVDA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I didn't really know for sure if it would work but it came out well. Just had to cut into the back of it - it was an easy cut, really, because the last compartment is about two inches deep and that's almost exactly what needs to come off to make it fit.

The key is patience, if you can manage a week on a different phone wait a week.

Also Rice is ok, if thats all you've got, but I'd consider buying some silica gel while you wait or for future problems (Something like this). You can dry out and reuse them too.

Remember its not the moisture that screws a device, its moisture+electricity, and rust.

Good luck.

If you liked that, you'll love the Steering Wheel Desk Reviews:

> 4 out of 5 stars Not so good as baby changing table

> I read some 4 and 5 star reviews by those who used this device successfully to change a baby while driving. On that basis, I bought one. I put my baby on it and drove for over an hour. It did not change. Same baby. I am glad it worked for some people but I will be returning mine. (The steering wheel desk.)

Also, this exists.

I just feel like that should not exist.

Edit: Fixed link because I accidentally linked the wrong thing before, haha. Thanks for catching that, /u/jojewels92!

u/is_reddit_useful · 5 pointsr/CrazyIdeas

There are trays which attach to the steering wheel https://www.amazon.ca/Zone-Tech-Laptop-Steering-Wheel/dp/B00YF3GJR6

Your crazy idea would be much better but also much harder to implement.

Or just control the car with a joystick at the side and have space for a tray in front. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/265916396_VEHICLE_STEERING_BY_SIDE_STICK_EMPIRICAL_EVALUATION_OF_STEERING_CHARACTERISTICS

Or make it self driving and don't bother with either.

u/carnageeleven · 1 pointr/gaming

Pshh...a true gamer would bring his desktop in the car with him. That's why they have power inverters and this.

u/Floppie7th · 1 pointr/todayilearned

Drivers are, however, doing all of the following - and I have a hard time believing any of them are accidental:

  • Texting
  • Eating
  • Talking on the phone (hands-free only helps if you're changing gear; otherwise, does not change the level of distraction)
  • Doing their makeup
  • Messing with their kids in the back seat
  • Fiddling with the radio (I'm looking at you, touch screen head units)
  • Reading a book/using their laptop

The list goes on. Don't do these things and, magically, you're a lot more careful.
u/Korrugate · 7 pointsr/ipad

You need to get yourself a steering wheel table.

Hilarious customer reviews.

u/kheltar · 5 pointsr/Switch

You need one of these OP. Much more stable while you're driving.

u/nfhiggs · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

Just look for soft white or "warm white" bulbs. Get the lower wattage.

Most say "Use inlines" because they are in tents that are ten times your space. A small 24 CFM fan is all you would need in 6 CuFt

To move air around the plants I was thinking of something like this:https://www.amazon.com/Zento-Deals-Portable-Oscillating-Fan-Universal/dp/B01HMV9CX0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1479620710&sr=8-3&keywords=clip-on+desk+fan+12V
Just cut the car light plug off and wire it to a universal 12V adaptor (Wall Wart)

In my previous car I had 2 of these silica bags. I put them both on the dashboard overnight and it solved my foggy window issues.

u/MakesShitUp4Fun · 4 pointsr/Cadillac

Back in the day, we used to buy aftermarket 'consoles'. They were plastic atrocities like this. There were also little plastic things that could be hung from the window track that were stand-alone cup-holders.

Also, back when drunk driving was called "Falling asleep at the wheel", my father used to hold his beer between his legs, like you described. I can't tell you how many times he said, "Get me a beer from the cooler," as we tooled along on the highway.

u/RedDelibird · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This Steering Wheel Work Table is the greatest series of reviews I have ever seen.

DIRTY THIRTY

u/kiwitathegreat · 2 pointsr/CherokeeXJ

https://www.amazon.com/Seat-Wedge-Cup-Holder-Car/dp/B01I3MMCVQ

I have this in mine. So long as you wedge it between the console and seat like you really mean it, it doesn’t go anywhere. And I traveled with a bo sized tea in it daily without issue.

However, if you have a particularly large passenger it may not be the best option

u/Reamer · 1 pointr/shittyaskscience

I get the standard of some housing is poor, but the tenants in many cases deserve a lot of the blame and responsibility for these conditions. Of course landlords have a responsibility to provide functional and safe plumbing, heating, etc. and must ensure there is reasonable insulation and so on; but a lot of these cases look like shocking neglect from the tenants themselves. Many appear to never clean or attempt even the most basic of remedies which are well within their power.

The picture at the top of the article linked above is a prime example. This is something the tenant could fix with a £1 bottle of mold and mildew remover, a cleaning rag and some rubber gloves. This is all stuff you can buy in pound shops and super-markets all over the country for less than a few quid. The tenant (or landlord) might need to need/want to put a dehumidifier to stop the problem coming back if its a recurrent issue, but this is something that should be trivial to fix and is in nearly every case I've ever seen something the tenant could easily have sorted on their own in the short term.

I've lived in a couple of places prone to mold and having terrible insulation in the past. As a tenant I was barely even inconvenienced in managing these issues on my on - I certainty didn't need assistance from my landlord for it.
