School is so chill, since I only have 3 classes (9 credits). It's pretty much do nothing but homework here and there until a test or lab report due, when I become more diligent and prepare. I'm not sure if I've just gotten good at taking tests or what, but everything's gone pretty well so far. With that said, I have a lot of really boring free time. Going to the gym definitely helps, but there's still a lot left.

I've gotten the opportunity to suit up a couple times in the past month, for career fair and interviews. So that was pretty nice, since I got my 2nd suit (1st decent-quality, well-fitting and tailored one) and was excited for that. Unfortunately no bites yet from a company, which blows. It would be nice to have that job security for when I graduate.

Something more up MFA's alley: I feel like I can wear jeans and a simple white or grey t shirt every day and switch out the shoes, and have a different vibe every outfit (and obviously be very happy, cause it's so steezy(sp?)). I never thought about it before because I don't really try to act like I know my style or that I even have a style (on MFA since May), but the Saucony inspiration thread last week got me thinking. Like I don't have the street wear style that the album portrayed (super tapered sweatpants, very slim pin rolled pants), but those would look cool with the outfits I already wear. Plus with a pair of pants like this that I have coming in the mail today, shoes like Saucony or NB could definitely look good. Got it under the ruse of a Halloween outfit, but I've been wanting light wash jeans for a while, huehuehe. Side note: outfit ideas for the jeans linked? Been looking at the palewave inspiration album from a while back. I know it was contentious, but it seems right for those pants and for me. I'd just tone it down on the street wear aspect.

edit: oh i went to like some outdoor flower festival or orchid thing with my cousin and his friends over the weekend. it was pretty cool - something interesting and unusual to get outta my apartment on a lazy sunday. anyway, they had floral shirts and it took some restraint to not look at them. but i doubt they had GBV or WvG anyway...those plebs.

Hello, I'm a fellow tenth grader who is very good with fashion, and I would love to help you!

You haven't really stated much of what you're interested in, so I'm just going to give you some basic links to help with a more preppy, mature style.

First and foremost, though, is that mop on your head. I had it, you have it, every guy has had it. It's time to let it go and cut it off. You'll thank me later.

For your tops, I recommend dropping the whole T-shirt/sweater everyday, and trying to stay away from graphic tees completely. I find that if you wear a simple pattern/solid colour shirt, you'll look a lot more clean and grown up. Not much else to be said, just see what you like, but keep it simple.

For jeans, dark denim is in style right now. Since you're a teenager like me, you'll probably want a slim fitting jean. Pac-Sun, H&M, Dockers, and Levi's have some of the best fits that you'll find for a reasonable price. If you want chinos (AKA Khakis), I recommend Dockers brand.

For shoes, since I almost exclusively wear Vans, my knowledge is limited. A general rule of thumb is to keep the sole of the shoe more on the thin side, make sure the tip of the shoe is more tapered/to a point, and the tongue of it isn't too big. Some examples are here, here, and here.

Here are some links of some of the things I mentioned, as they are a good point of reference. Another great place to look are all the sidebar links, namely the basic wardrobe.

Tops:

Old Navy Tees

Old Navy Button-Ups

H&M Tees

Forever 21 (Big selection of tops)

Bottoms:

Dockers Chinos (AKA Khakis)

Levi's 511 Denim Jeans

Pac-Sun Slim Jeans

Shoes:

Vans

Sperry's Topsiders

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask via PM or here in the comments.

Cheers!

I do want to point out r/onebag (even if you don't do just one bag) has a lot of good information. I've found Eagle Creek compressible packing cubes help keep bulk down on most items, namely clothing. I use a down puffy that packs to nothing and a few underlayers designed for snowboarding for colder weather. Both take up little space and accomplish climate versatility.

Eagle Creek also makes a garment sleeve but I've not used it, instead I just use wrinkle free button ups from Rohan and roll them. One great tip I use is to wear your dressier clothes while flying so you can avoid packing them all together. This takes the complication out of keeping business attire wrinkle free during the flight there and back. Be sure not to overpack things that can be picked up there for cheap, most of these fall into the toiletry department.

(I'm male so this may not be directly actionable for everyone, but materials may be useful*) I have 5 undershirts - the ones in heather gray are a poly blend, two wrinkle free button ups, one pair of outlier slim dungarees, one pair of western rise evolution pant, 7 pairs of synthetic reebok boxer briefs, 3 pairs of darn tough merino racer socks (which get washed by hand), 2x long sleeve base layer for both bottom and top (no link, off brand), down puffy (no link, discontinued), one heather gray uniqlo airism hoodie, and a cheap pair of synthetic shorts for the gym. Most of the stuff gets put into compression cubes or more rarely ranger rolled. It all packs down extremely well.

I also pack a laptop (Asus C302) and some of that dongle life (USB-C). I'm sure I'm missing more than a few things but my goal really isn't to provide a complete packout breakdown, just get some ideas out there for minimal packing/living. It's been a few months since I've packed my belongings into my 30l backpack and took a plane so my memory is a bit hazy but I could do it now if I wanted because I haven't increased/changed my belongings much since.

As a general rule I try to avoid bulky cotton stuff as much as possible and just go with synthetic or merino wool, stuff that will pack down easy. Freezer/gallon ziplock bags can make great compressible organizers if you're looking to save some money. The corners can be reinforced by clear packing tape, with the air pushed out for clothing as well. This is my razor of choice, as it's super light and you can pick up the batteries anywhere in the world.

Personally I need my shirts to fit snug on the waist.

I've ordered H2H Waffle henley's before years ago:

https://www.amazon.com/H2H-Pocket-Henley-Shirts-KMTTL062/dp/B00JR2NB0I/ref=lp_6930371011_1_13?srs=6930371011&ie=UTF8&qid=1504156023&sr=8-13

In Navy & Grey, both medium. I outgrew it a little thanks to my lanky arms growing even more, but the midsection is perfect and the quality is surprisingly very very solid - still going strong. I am not a fan of the stripes though... always reminded me of toothpaste... so this year I didn't re-up on this particular style.

Instead, I bought this one last week in grey:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DMZFM80/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Got it a few days ago in Large. Fits fairly well prewash. i imagine it'll only get better with a tiny shrinkage.

(This is the t-shirt version):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DI2SKXG/ref=s9_acsd_hps_bw_c_x_7_w

i was actually so pleased with the different textures/options available from H2H, the fact that most their shirts areTrue Slim fitting, AND super pelased with the beautiful vibrant Navy colors they provide that I just ordered these last night:

https://www.amazon.com/H2H-Casual-Henley-Sleeve-Shirts/dp/B013HEUW1M/ref=pd_sbs_193_1?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=MFGK93BDNSKPB1PRR20A

In Navy and Charcoal.

That piercing Navy blue is probably the best color I've ever seen.

Hey guys, maybe this should be a post in a daily discussion, but I'm completely baffled by this and thought all would be amused.

I ordered a pair of Unbranded 155's in the fall, love em. Size 32, fit like a glove. Order up the 107's in 32, and these comically small pants show up. Both tagged 32, both ordered from Amazon, both "skinny" fit. Now I know the picture isn't precisely set up to show exact measurements, but the flat on the 107's is shy of 14 inches, while the 155's is just over 16. The leg opening is sub-6.5" for fuck's sake...

I'm sure Amazon will swap me out a pair, but am I missing something? These are allegedly sold by Amazon, direct from Unbranded. Any similar experiences? Are these mis-labeled 28" chick jeans? Is the sizing insanely whacky on just the 107s? At this rate I'd have to order a 38 for them to get past my knees.

Can post more pics if you want...

Same thing was happening to me. I'm still trying various brands but so far Exofficio and Saxx have worked out well.

The Exofficio (92% Nylon/8% Lycra) I like best and they breathe really well. I like Saxx (95% Cotton/5% Spandex) because they feel soft and comfortable but they have a thick waist band that I don't care for.

I recently tried Champion (58% Cotton/37% Polyester/5% Spandex) since it popped up on Amazon. They seem to work well but run small in the ass area. I may try a large to see. I went with a medium based on their size chart. Potential is there so I'm hopeful.

u/Stretchy_Arms · 2 pointsr/running

I got you fam

Check out the product description for the percentages of elastic in the denim. The more elastic, the more they feel like lounge pants, but the more comfortable for sure. Just the different cut is wonderful though. Perfect waist size with room for the legs. <3

They aren't the kinda shoes you could wear with normal hype clothing. They are an ideal summer shoe that would go great with lightwash jeans and a unique shirt. I would Even suggest the new asap x guess shirt.

EDIT- Prices on zappos got bumped up but they're still available for 61 on Amazon

Black is also available on Amazon for $37-$58 in 28, 33, 36, 38.

Good price on these. Inseam length is fixed at 36" and though these are advertised as a skinny fit, they're more of a slim straight (like the Levi's 513).

Sizes 29-31, 33, 36, and 38 available. Free shipping and returns because it's Zappos.

I've always just used the bombshell or miraculous bra (whatever they call it now) from VS, but I want a more natural look.. thanks for the help!

u/loIwtf · 1 pointr/AskMen

Bro, I am also a sz 36 waist and I am pretty picky about my underwear. I prefer boxer briefs but every kind I bought either would fall down during the day, or would squeeze too tight in certain areas etc.

Finally I found these Reebok spandex boxer briefs in a 3-pack and they are absolutely perfect. I went back and bought 5 more packs of them, and I've been wearing them for like 3 years now. Not a single rip or sign of wear at all.

Here they are on Amazon if you want to give them a try. I am genuinely impressed with them and I found that anything cheaper really sucked, so they're worth the money IMO.

u/Ross5512 · 1 pointr/rawdenim

Go for Unbranded. Great place to start. On Amazon for about $82 IIRC. They have several different cuts, I personally have the 221s (you probably don't want those as they're quite thick) but I believe the 201 or whatever they call it will be what you're looking for, it's a slim relaxed fit.

EDIT: Link - http://www.amazon.com/Unbranded-Brand-UB201-Tapered-Selvedge/dp/B00YE2M4PY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458834722&sr=8-1&keywords=ub201

EDIT2: Plus they fade very quickly so you'll very quickly see the benefits in terms of look that having a pair of raw denim gives you.

Looking for a nice parka or really any kind of outerwear for winter. I've had my eye on the Alpha Industries Slim Fit N-3B Parka in sage/orange or replica blue/orange. I like it a lot, but I'm insanely skinny(5'8"-5'9" 115lbs.) and I feel like even a small would look huge on me. I guess I'm just looking for a decent coat sub $150, with a preference for parkas because I've never had one.

u/1mattyice · 6 pointsr/AskDocs

I recommend the David Archy brand. Keeps your junk separate. I rate these the best out there. Not sure if it will help you or not.

David Archy Men's 4 Pack Underwear Micro Modal Separate Pouches Trunks with Fly (L, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CB77S6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ZHz0CbHJD0YQZ

u/PingHigh · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Thanks for sharing, I just took a look at TaniUSA.

A few points:

First, I don't see any underwear like the ones I'm talking about from David Archy (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DYNPG4K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Second, DA does use Micro Modal on many of their products, including the ones I linked to.

Third, I can't pay $45 for one pair of underwear. I'd much rather get the 4 pack of DA's for $22.99 when it's on sale at Amazon.

Absolutely my favorite underwear! Wore boxer briefs for years, but these separate your man parts, really comfortable, no sticking, good airflow.

u/mewvolk · 5 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

Honestly I buy this 8 pack on Amazon and they’ve served me well.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071114HR9

They’re light and thin, which I kind of like tbh (you get what you pay for) but they’re functional, comfortable, and cheap.

u/[deleted] · -1 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I have to disagree with the jeans fit. For an adult man, properly tapered below the knee, unless you have chicken thighs so that a straight leg is sufficiently slim in the lower leg, waste sitting 1 inch below the naval is a good fit, lower rise than that just looks bad on adult men. Think levi 501 with a tailored slimmed lower leg. Straight leg generally isn't going to look good unless you're wearing boots or clunky shoes.

Edit: Seriously guys, if you like 501s try the rigid envy 508s from amazon (good price, excellent quality gold stitching, classic indigo), same fit in the thigh, same rise, tapered leg instead of straight. If your wearing a sleek shoe it's world's better than the 501.

Piggybacking off your comment, i was recommended these no-show socks from this sub and they have lasted me over a year now.

A bit cheaper than the Puma ones and they don't ride up at all. Very comfortable as well

I bought these on Amazon and they're great. Just allow a long time for shipping, they come from China.

http://www.amazon.com/Levis-Mens-Slim-Tapered-Jean/product-reviews/B0051710LA

Here are the reviews. They are vanity sized 2 inches up. I wear a 30x32 but 30 waist wears like a 32. The reviews say they fit like 514's except slimmer in the lower leg. Plenty of thigh/butt space.

u/triple_take · 7 pointsr/malefashionadvice

carhartt beanies are nice and pretty cheap. Tons of colors. http://www.amazon.com/Carhartt-Mens-Acrylic-Watch-Hat/dp/B002G9U38W

u/hockeyhippie · 1 pointr/bigdickproblems

These: http://www.amazon.com/David-Archy-Micro-Separate-Trunks/dp/B00CB77S6Y/ are the most comfortable underwear I own.

Everything is supported and it handles a random boner without needing to re-adjust anything.

u/somethingmountain · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I am 5'11 and weigh 140 lbs. I love 510s for a slim skinny fit. I would try a few pairs on because the sizing and fit will vary widely depending on where they're made. I wear mens' pants a lot because they're long enough and the pockets are deep enough to carry a wallet or large phone.

I'd also try 508s--they aren't styled like this on the model dudes, but 508s are a taper and have a lot more room in the butt area and a skinnier ankle, so they'll fit you closer to a traditional skinny womens' fit if you size down from your normal levi's mens size. High-rise on me.

I've tried on 501s and never like the fit on me, but ymmv.

tl;dr try lots of pairs on.

u/wardser · 3 pointsr/nyc

just buy a parka

Alpha industries n3b slim is pretty popular and cheap: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056QPH9C/

wear that and you won't care if it's -20 degrees outside. Sure they don't look as stylish as a leather jacket but at least you'll be warm

u/animalistik · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I just got my first real job and the dress code is business casual. I recently bought D1 dockers in black and navy http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002AQ23G6/ref=cm_sw_su_dp and some Alfani button-up shirts.

What kind of shoes should I wear with the chinos? I was thinking of Florsheim shoes, but my parents think they're too dressy for chinos. Any recommendations? Links would be helpful.

My husband is a BDD and I got him some of these David Archy boxer briefs. He says they're the most comfortable underwear he's ever worn. Eliminates sweaty sticking as well.

u/holograham · 4 pointsr/malefashionadvice

This. But I believe it's David Archy (with a Y). Seriously, I've done the MeUndies thing, I've tried ExOfficio, but these are my favorites by far, and they happen to be the least expensive. Wearin em now, they rock.

u/Solkiller · 1 pointr/AskMen

Amazon has David Archy boxer briefs and briefs that do exactly this. Far less expensive than most of those already mentioned. Under $30 for a 4 pack. I use them and recommend.

David Archy

u/AlGoreVidalSassoon · 8 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Zappos and Amazon have them and both have free shipping and returns so you can buy a few sizes and send back what ever doesn't fit.

u/Willravel · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Interesting. Okay, I can work with that.

Chinos: $35.99

Dress shirt: $44

Blazer: $59-$149

Shoes are going to be damned tough. I'm not sure there's such a thing as a nice, inexpensive dress shoe, unless you're into second-hand like some folks on this subreddit. Asos is mentioned in the shoe FAQ, but even those might stretch your budget. Check your local JC Penny for Stafford Ashton wingtips on sale, maybe.

u/dearth10101 · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

What I do when buying jeans is look for tapered fit. Like Levi's 508. The leg opening is still small so they look fitted in the calf but have more room in the thigh.

I bought these and a few other styles/shapes from the same brand (Motawator) on Amazon:

Motawator Silicone Breast Forms Mastectomy Grade, Cross Dresser (600g 34D 36C 38B 40A) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LNTC9II/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_webdBbXE6NHBN

I personally prefer smaller breasts, so 500g and 600g were my favourites. Of all the silicone I bought this brand was my absolute favourite.

Gloves that go well with the Alpha Industries N-3B parka?

u/stanky_tofu · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

Amazon has 508s around $44 dollars. If you use the 20% off coupon for subscribing to amazon's clothing newsletter, you could bring the price down somewhat close to $30.

u/Ryan_Firecrotch · 1 pointr/OutOfTheLoop

Weirdly enough the Levi's US site has a directory page for 508's but has none in the actual store. They are, however, on US amazon in nearly every size for nearly every color.
