Hi there, send u/jennagadski a private message - she cared for a palatalized bunny and can give a lot of advice! She is a very kind and wonderful person and will share tips. :)

I am so sorry your little boy is sick, I will share trips with you below, it is a lot of info but please read it....

Feeding and Diet:

  1. This is simple, you have to supplement the food he eat by syringe feeding him. This is an absolute MUST. You cannot just wait till he starts eating on his own. Without food he will not get better. He is getting worse because he doesn't have the strength to recover. Feed him Critical Care if you have it ASAP!
    1. Get a skinny syringe and cut the tip off to make the opening wide. Mix some of his usual pellets with water until liquidy/pasty and slowly feed through a syringe every two hours (yes, you need to work from home till he improves a little). If you have a blender you can also mix in some fresh herbs. You can put a touch of banana of the tip of the syringe to make him want it more and make it easier to feed him. You can even mix in a touch of banana or some no-sugar added baby food baby food (like carrot or pumpkin or sweet potato - but not too much since it still has natural sugars). If you have Critical Care food even better, but if not pellet paste will work in the short term.
    2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iGZVYVm5Bg - how to syringe feed (put a bit of something sweet like banana on the tip to get bun to like it more)
    3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW0Taz0MFWE - more on how to syringe feed.
    4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0dil7iQQCU - how to syringe feed in a less stressful way (more effort but will work better sometimes)
  2. Keep feeding him from you hand - it's hard for him to eat on his on. It's easier if you help the food get into his mouth.
    1. Rub banana on hay to make it more enticing and give to him by hand.
    2. Offer fresh herbs - dill (has great gut mobility portieres), cilantro, oregano, mint, basil, parsley - these have a strong aroma and can help stimulate bunny appetite and get him to eat more. Rinse them and give them wet for extra hydration.
  3. Also provide water through a syringe the same way. He needs to stay hydrated.
  4. Also he might be gassy, go to the store and get some BABY gas drops or Infacol in Europe. Those are 100% safe and can be given anytime a tummy feels gassy. Liquid simethicone is the ingredient in Baby or Infant gas drops, which are available over the counter in drugstores and many supermarkets. administer between .5 and 1cc of liquid simethicone orally, using a syringe without needle. These can really have save your bunny’s life.

    Cecotropes:

These are really essential to his diet, he cannot eat them on his own now. So you have to pick them up and feed them to him on a spoon by hand - if dry, moisten a little bit and may at some banana if he is refusing to eat otherwise. But basically handfeed as many of those as you can to him, and clean the rest to make sure they don't get matted in his fur.

    Cleaning butt ad feet:

OK so you have to check on him every hour to keep him clean - this is really essential to prevent urine scald and fly strike. You should not let poop and urine be on him, so check on him every hour like a baby and clean him of.

Now when it looks like he is really dirty, you can give him a little bath in about 1 inch of warm water - clean his paws and his butt and dry him well. Good instructions in this link http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/buttbath.html. Do this ASAP!

Also you you can get some scissors and trim the fur around his bottom a little to keep it shorter and cleaner.

You need to keep brushing him often to keep him clean also, and wipe his eyes with a moist clean cotton ball to remove any gunk.

    Helping him stay clean:

  5. Line his enclosure with very soft blankets to help his feet not get sores on his feet. You need to also put some pillows around the side to help him stay upright and not fall over. You are trying to make it very soft inside basically.
  6. Then on top of the blanket on the floor, line the space with adsorbent puppy pee pads. The pee will get absorbed into them vs soaked through into the blanket. You will have to change them often, but it will help.
  7. Also you can dipper him in the meantime to keep his little butt cleaner
    1. Special bunny diapers here https://bunnydiapers.com/
    2. There is also a great video at the bottom of this link on how to put on a regular newborn diaper onto a bunny http://www.disabledrabbits.com/urine-scald.html
  8. Also make him a very shallow litter tray - get an shallow pen you have - baking sheet even or a boot tray like this or this - if you make it so he can get inside he may be able to use it.
    1. Put the puppy pee pads on the bottom of it and on top some of his litter box litter so he can tell
    2. Put this in place of where his current litter box it (and take that one out)
  9. Again brush and clean his eyes for him

    Avoid depression:

  10. Spend as much time with him on the floor as you can! He may be very sad now, he needs you!
  11. Get him some things he can play with without moving much - try getting him high quality chews like here and some of the plastic toys I have listed here - like slinky and nesting cups.
  12. Give him a stuffed animal as a cuddle buddy to cuddle against which may also help him not fall over.

You will keep giving panacur over 28 days - that is the cycle and you should hopefully start to notice involvements soon enough .... but in the mean time you need to do all those things above.... basically take full care of your baby! I hope he recovered.

Once he is well on the road to recovery, you can begin to do some physical therapy decried in this thread to help with balance issues that remain.

Also try to look through some resources below for treatment and how to keep him comfortable now in addition to what I said above.

    1. I'd wait on the jackets because he will grow.
    1. Crate helped me a TON in house breaking my 2 year old chi who was not previous trained. Honestly seemed impossible otherwise.
    1. Why would you be worried about the ears?! I love my chi's super pointy ears.
    1. Mine was not a puppy when I got her. Not entirely sure here.
    1. You might be able to fit him into an extra small by using the adjustments.
    1. Not sure here. Mine barks like crazy at new people but once she knows you, she is such a lover. Perhaps if I had gotten her as a puppy she may have gotten used to new people coming and going. I guess I would suggest introducing your pup to new people on a regular basis.
    1. Of course! [Here] (http://imgur.com/a/ZN9Z1) she is! She's dear headed and her name is Minnie. My sister had run an animal rescue for years and years and I was going through a tough time so I thought I would help an animal (and myself!) and foster one. She helped me through a really tough time and there's no way I could give her up after that. They call it "foster failure" haha. She is really smart but it took a lot of hard work for me to teach her what she knows because I got her when she was already about 2 years old. She is endlessly entertaining and [here] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdD32KZb438) is a video of her getting REALLY excited over her favorite treat, "bacon" (it's not bacon... it's these chicken jerky strip things meant for dogs). She doesn't really play with toys so I only have a few for her. She has a crate with a soft pad, a doggy bed (actually a kitty bed because it was cheaper.. shhh don't tell her!), and a blanket which she sleep on every night in my bed. Also food/water dishes of course and a retractable leash as well as a harness and regular leash. She also has a lot of outfits which is totally my sisters fault haha. Overall she is pretty well behaved but she has a tough time with new people. She very well may have been neglected and/or abused before my sister and then I eventually rescued her. I love her SO much!

You won't mess up as long as you love, care for, and dedicate time to your dog and give her the forever home that he/she deserves. Those things aren't hard at all IMO!

Also, my friend makes collars, leashes, harnesses etc. Check out her [Etsy] (https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShihPooLover) shop. She might be able to make an itty bitty one custom for you! She doesn't have a lot of photos of the harnesses (she has a ton of collars though) but I know she does make them so just send her a message if you're interested.

Oh and for house breaking your pup, make sure to buy something like [this] (http://www.amazon.com/All-Absorb-Count-Training-22-Inch-23-Inch/dp/B00EI673B6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409385024&sr=8-1&keywords=puppy+pad). Any brand should be fine.

u/Taswegian · 3 pointsr/Greyhounds

Keep at it, it's so incredibly frustrating when you're already stretched with the baby! We assumed the dog was freaked out by our kid so went full-calm down mode. We crated at night because the messing happened then (also during the day) but we also used the crate as his sanctuary so he was able to get away from the baby. Maybe if crating isn't working try a thunder vest or similar? These were the herbs we used: Hilton Canine Tranquility Dry Herbal Mix 125 g https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003MGIN08/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DHSRzbFH57Z3W more expensive than some but this mix seemed to work best.

We also got the Adaptil pheromone collar (m/l size) plus the plug-in (again, Amazon!)

Definately get a belly band!!

Enzyme cleaner (buy bulk!!): Simple Solution Stain and Odour Remover for Dogs, 4 Litre https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004HYU79O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_XPSRzbZAYTFEJ

One other thing we did was had him walked by a professional dog walker twice a week with other dogs - the socialisation really seemed to help!!

Best of luck! Our hound and my son are now best of friends, it was really tough but worth it in the end!

u/toxicity21 · 3 pointsr/AmItheAsshole

Don't know where op lives, but here poop bags are mostly made out of bioplastic, which makes them even better, because better for the environment. So yes use poop bags for your not poop related needs, they are pretty fine.

P.S i found the pink heart design bags, they are pretty cute: https://www.amazon.com/Scented-Pet-Waste-Poop-Refills/dp/B07DHVDPY7/ (and yes biodegradable).

u/czechica · 2 pointsr/houston

This is from personal experience, but I used a crate similar to this one with my pup and it made potty training much easier- especially if you're gone more than 8 hours at a time. If your dog rips up the pad like mine did, they make potty pad holders like these. A few accidents here and there during the first month are expected, but it helps to spray the urine spot with a deodorizing spray like this so they do not keep peeing on the same spot. Also, I've read that ammonia heavy products are terrible for cleaning up pee because it smells like urine to animals and encourages them to urinate on top of it. Hope that helps, happy training!

u/Raymundoklementes · 3 pointsr/dogs

Urine has ammonia in it. Most cleaning products you're able to find in the cleaning aisle at Wal-Mart also have ammonia, including Resolve's pet formula and 409 for carpet. If you clean with ammonia, it's going to be really hard to get rid of the pet urine smell, since the cleaner isn't breaking down that ammonia. The best thing I have found to do (shy of shampooing the carpet, which gets really old) is to use an enzymatic cleaner. The enzymes break down the ammonia and help get rid of the smell. BONUS-your pet also won't smell the ammonia, since it's being broken down, and this prevents re-soiling in the same spot!

I use OUT! brand pet stain and odor remover. It hasn't turned my carpets a weird color or anything! I get it in the pet care aisle at Wal-Mart, where the dog shampoo is. Here's the product on Amazon, if you'd rather order it. I usually get it for $5 at Wal-Mart. The one I use has a purple label, but I believe it has the same ingredients as the one on Amazon.

Hope that helps! I don't think I've used the word ammonia as much before. Lol

u/lordofthefeed · 7 pointsr/RunningWithDogs

This is my favorite running belt. It's got a key-leash that I keep my house key and poop bag holder on (hanging out of the belt, obviously) and is entirely open inside, so plenty of room for my phone (but still easily grabbable for spinning pokestops) and unused poop bag rolls. The poop bag holder is amazing and, whether it's clipped to you or your doggo, it will hold 4 bags easily, if necessary.

EDIT: It's also got the perfect treat pocket!!

u/tiny_but_tough · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Family pet

Good luck! Dogs are great!

Here are some things my girl loves:

u/daps94 · 2 pointsr/cat

First off, since he is peeing in the same spots all of the time, you should consider purchasing puppy training pads and placing them in these areas so your cat is not peeing on the carpet, or the floor. And these can be easily swapped out when they are soiled. These arn't too expensive, you can probably find them at walmart, and maybe the pet section at the super market.

You can also get them on amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Training-Potty-Pads-Dogs-Cats/dp/B074WZ2Q3J/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1539226119&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=puppy+pads&psc=1

I haven't had this problem with my cats and cant really advise on the getting your cat to pee in the litter box aspect, however I found a few articles on this subject, you should check them out here
https://www.catster.com/lifestyle/cat-behavior-wont-pee-litter-box
https://www.petfinder.com/cats/cat-problems/why-cat-pees-outside-litter-box/

Wish you the best of luck.

u/AlmostCalvinKlein · 1 pointr/dogs

I really like the [Earth Rated](Earth Rated 270-Count Dog Waste Bags, Lavender-Scented Poop Bags, 18 Refill Rolls https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BSYR7K8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_wY1OzbEJ8JG2K) poop bags. They're cheap, the packing is made from recycled materials, and the lavender ones do a good job of blocking the poo smell.

I feel like most poop bag dispensers are made really cheap and don't last long before they're falling apart. SafetyPup has this amazing treat bag/poop bag dispenser that I absolutely love. It's super durable, and it holds everything I need for a walk or short hike. I can carry a full bag of treats, 2 rolls of poop bags, key, cell phone, and ID. It's honestly one of my favorite dog products I own!

u/pingasthrowaway · 12 pointsr/trashy

This is a bit harder to deal with in entirety, but that's one of the reasons that reducing plastic where you can is so important. If dog poop bags are the only plastic you're wasting, that's still better than using 20 bags a week at a grocery store.

Anyways there are a few alternatives. First, biodegradable is a gotcha word. A lot of "biodegradable" products are only biodegradable if they're disposed of in commercial facilities that use a special process to break them down. Many of them would still take decades to break down outside of one of these facilities. Some things are completely compostable rather than biodegradable, like thin paper.

You use this to pick up poop and throw it directly into a trashcan or toilet and then you can rinse it off. Really not ideal at all, but if it doesn't bother you, it's a perfectly fine way to get rid of the plastic poo bags.

u/georgethecurious · 1 pointr/gerbil

Sure!

I buy practically everything on Amazon and these would be my top recommendations:

Hidey Hut - this is large enough to fit two grown gerbils and my first survived the chewing for close to 4 years.

Small Animal Pet Playpen/Exercise Pen - this is just tall enough for the jumpers. I've still had some be able to reach the top but it is a struggle and you'd be able to catch them in time. Really sturdy as well.

Kordon/Oasis (Novalek) SOA80304 Bell Bottle and Hold Guard Small Animal Value Set, 4-Ounce - this is by far my favorite recommendation of the bunch. I cannot tell you how many water bottles were just destroyed and I would come home to an empty bottle and a very wet gerbil. This thing is impenetrable!

Kaytee Hamster Silent Spinner, 6 1/2 inch Exercise Wheel - although I've had to buy a couple of these (they will chew the yellow part holding the bottom part to the wheel) I find that this is the sturdiest of them all. It becomes less silent the more they chew on it and push it around but it's never been loud enough to be considered especially annoying.

Great for cleaning cage and is safe

As far as dust baths go, I've tried several different kinds and find them all to be equivalent.

Would not recommend:

Ware Manufacturing Flying Saucer Exercise Wheel for Small Pet - the quality is fine here but if you are using carefresh, it gets buried and doesn't allow any give for it to spin.

Kaytee Woodland Get-A-Way Medium Hamster House - quality here is also fine and it's pretty thick so it would take a while to get them to chew. Since it is wood, it absorbs liquids. My gerbils would pee on it and it got to the point that it looked moldy and unhealthy so I just threw it out.

Alfie Pet by Petoga Couture - GARI Wood Hut for Small Animals like Dwarf Hamster and Mouse - Size: Large - this is the cutest little home I've ever seen. I had to eventually throw out though because the wood was so thin that the back wall collapsed due to their chewing and would no longer stand up.

Prevue Pet Products Multi-Color Small Pet Playpen 40090 - I think the quality is here too. It's just too short. My gerbils were easily able to escape this.

GreatChoice Water Bottle - chewed through in a week and Same

u/hawkgal23 · 2 pointsr/AdviceAnimals

Yes, it's super easy. Also, you can get a box of the rolled bags on Amazon for insanely cheap. I have two dogs and that box has lasted me nearly a year. $15 - sooooo much cheaper than in the pet stores and just as good:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TFYT02G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If they're these poop bags, they are adorable and perfectly appropriate for a girl's birthday party gift bag. They are just sheer plastic bags.

Pink Hearts Pet Poop Bags

It seems that the mom has some self-esteem problems that are exacerbated by perceived competition with, or a desire to measure up to the other moms. She needs to refocus her attention on what matters: her relationship with her spouse and daughter, and what their own family values are.

Sometimes the people who present the most controlled version of their lives are actually the most unhappy. The moms with the perfect birthday parties may be on the verge of divorce, or suffering from depression, or dreadfully unhappy. Every family has some sort of challenges. We don't all live in a magical, perfect world.

This stuff is the fucking BEST: Nature's Miracle Advanced Stain and Odor Eliminator, 32oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0723HRWJW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FtIXDbWNQ9MJN

u/Greydmiyu · 2 pointsr/ferrets

Can you ferret proof one room, preferably one you would spend time in? Block off the doorways with a clear plastic baby gate. That way you're in the room with the ferret and can let it out and interact with it even if you're doing other things. Just letting it explore, or doze, or come over and nudge at you from time to time? And, preferably, a room with no carpet.

If so, I'd say get a couple of packs of reusable puppy pads and place them in the corners of the room. Basically, if your ferret goes somewhere that isn't covered, clean it up and then drop a pad down there. Replace the pads when they get too soiled.

This way you're not spending a fortune on throw-away puppy pads, the ferret gets out time, the floors in that room are protected. It is what my wife and I do with our kidlets' room. My gaming rig is in there so they a few hours to nudge at papa for treats and snuggins while I game. They are out most of the day, it is a laminate floor so easy cleanup, but we have pads at their favorite potty spots to protect the floors.

That might be a good start?

u/JacobStyle · 1 pointr/sex

Just a heads up, if you start squirting with regularity, dirtying a towel every time will become too much of a hassle. I keep these stocked in my bedroom for my more "aquatic" partners. Cheap, easy cleanup, easy storage, and overall the best solution I've seen. You can always keep them in a little case or something if you don't like the puppies on the packaging.

u/pinkpurpleblues · 3 pointsr/legaladvice

OP invest in something like this. My poop bag holder came with something like that free. It's really nifty. It holds the poop for the rest of the walk until I can find a trash I can use (my parks area has receptacles placed throughout) and I don't have to touch the bag.

ETA: this is actually much closer to what I have.

u/artgreendog · 3 pointsr/dogs

Let him eat outside and immediately bring him to the spot you want him to pee. Praise him profusely. Do this until he is consistent. Could take a couple weeks.

We have long grass out back and I taught my dog to go potty in there (#1 + #2) so I don’t have to pick up the poo!

The BEST thing for neutralizing odor is Nature’s Miracle.

Piggy backing your piggy backing! I use doggy poop bags that smell like delicious lavender to dispose of the poopy diaper in public. 😂

Dude, get yourself one of these. It's amazing for long walks and hikes and only $4 https://www.amazon.com/alcott-Waste-Bag-Carrier-Black/dp/B00GGD10QI/ref=sr_1_3?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1524932691&sr=1-3&keywords=Dog+waste+carrier

Nice to be able to continue a hike without having to carry a bag around waiting for a trash can to appear.

u/franqmichele · 5 pointsr/vandwellers

Get biodegradable dog poop bags. when you can, dig a 2 foot hole and bury it in there. Make sure your hole is away from a stream.

I found these to be a good value

1: This would be super helpful.

2: It would be helpful because when I use a shovel to scoop my dog's shit I wreck my back, and having this scooper would let me just walk around and pick up the poop without having to strain my back.

3:I like green

I got one of these poop scoops about 8 or so years ago. It was one of the best purchases of my life. Two dogs and I haven't felt the texture of poop through a plastic bag since... Except when I remember my bags when I take them for a walk.

u/starrynezz · 3 pointsr/cats

In addition to this if it is your kitten spraying I would recommend buying a black light like this. You can shine it around the area at night or if you can darken the room and it will illuminate any urine if there is spray being left on the carpet or walls.

they have reusable piddle pads like these I'm sure you can shop around and find reasonably priced ones

> Natures miracle then Paint over with kilz to trap odors

Should I just dump something like this in a bucket with a couple gallons of water and spread it around the floor?:

https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Miracle-Remover-24-Ounce-P-5553/dp/B001LUO1K8/

Or should I use a wet vac with something else?

For the Kilz, does this work?:

https://www.amazon.com/KILZ-Maximum-Blocking-Interior-1-gallon/dp/B007XH9PKO/

Isn't there a risk of this pealing up underneath in the future? We may use wider planks, which would require glue. Not sure how well that would bond with the paint being on top.

u/sunny_bell · 2 pointsr/ZeroWaste

You could use junk mail. Or old newspaper (a couple layers). And if you don't want to just have a poopy paper ball in your hands carry a small wet bag (like folks use for cloth diapers, Planet Wise makes some cute ones) and keep it in there, dump when you get to a trash can. Or there is a reusable poop bag

u/TP3NG · 11 pointsr/dogs

I also found this one while browsing:
http://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Supply-Technology-Patented-Dispenser/dp/B00TFYT02G/

1000 bags for $15 so it works out to be a tiny bit cheaper. This one also seems to be environmentally friendly
> EPI technology allows the bags to break down in 18~36 months

Anyone tried both/see a difference?

u/almost_a_squib · 1 pointr/dogs

No problem! I prefer these ones. They stay in place really well and are super absorbent. My friend's dogs wear them every day and have never had a leak. I've had clients who used other brands that used inserted pads and had issues with leaking (mainly because the pad would move around and/or didn't cover the area appropriately).

I get these from Amazon. They claim to be biodegradable, lightly scented and have held up rather well.

u/smithandjohnson · 5 pointsr/California

Except there's already more convenient options for handling dog waste, as well as biodegradable options, which free plastic bags from the store never were.

u/CrownRabbit · 1 pointr/ferrets

I have this stuff and it works great on not just my hardwood floors but also on plastic and linoleum. Just spray the area and wait 5 minutes before wiping up.

Belly bands don't deal with #2's. I use them for my in home boarding for dogs that like to mark. Here it is

I don't use them long term though. Just when I have the dogs in my home

u/tas_sass · 3 pointsr/Dogtraining

are you catching him in the act? Cause that's very important. If you aren't able to catch him in the act I suggest kenneling him when you are in the shower or away. If he's doing it in the same spot lay down puppy pads. You can get fabric ones that are washable. https://www.amazon.com/Pack-Reusable-Washable-Training-Travel/dp/B01IDNN278/ref=sr_1_15?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1503377383&sr=1-15&keywords=pee+pads

I prefer my Feit Electric Blacklight bulb on a swing arm task lamp the most over a flashlight-size (maybe because it's too compact, haha), but here's what I've used. The bulb is also far faster at charging.

Deep cleaning will not cut it, because the urine is in the pores of the wood.

You might be able to get rid of the smell with an enzyme product:

https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Miracle-Remover-24-Ounce-P-5553/dp/B001LUO1K8

But the top layer of that wood is toast. Nothing you can do short of sanding it down to undamaged wood.

u/MyKittenMika · 1 pointr/AskMen

I know of a product that is sold at pet stores. It's called Nature's Miracle. It uses enzymes to break down pet waste. It should work for semen too.
https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Miracle-Stain-Remover-Spray/dp/B00HCIWJ7A/ref=sr_1_7?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1491048351&sr=1-7&keywords=nature%27s+miracle

I had to start spraying this on the underarms of my polyester work shirts: [Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Remover (24 oz Spray- 2 Pack)] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HCIWJ7A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_if.RzbCAH015P)

It was the only thing that got the funk out! I haven't tried spraying anything without washing it afterwards, but the spray does not have a strong odor. It should work!

I always get Gorilla bags from Amazon. They're cheaper and you get more (1000 bags for $15) and these are the real deal.

I have a feeling you're being serious; is it one of these things?

u/EngineerSib · 1 pointr/dogs

We have a shovel and a trash bag for the yard...but for walkies, we use these.

In our defense, we live in the Boulder-area. That's not really a defense...but still...

u/usernames_r_useless · 9 pointsr/Austin
u/zerodb · 3 pointsr/dogs

First off, I use either a shovel or something like this to keep the poop at a distance. Bagging warm turds in my hand is a pleasure I reserve for walks away from home. Then I deposit in a 5 gallon bucket lined with a kitchen trash bag, which is tossed in the trash on garbage day. I used to cover the bucket but found that the lid did seem to really concentrate the stink and every time I removed the cover it unleashed the full force... so as long as it's not raining much, I keep the bucket uncovered in a low-traffic corner of my yard, which seems to let it dry out and break down without getting terribly stinky. If it's wet where you live, you're gonna want to cover the bucket at least loosely or you'll have a big bucket full of fermenting dog poop stew.

If you're a gardener, you could also start composting your dog waste along with other organic matter from your yard and home.

u/Volkodavy · 2 pointsr/dogs

I think you should try the NM hardwood floor spray first just in case before using the red bottle. Vinegar and baking soda won't do the trick, you need these enzymatic cleaners

Bags and holder

Simple carrier to clip to the harness.

u/DexRogue · 1 pointr/dogs

I use these. You can't smell the poop once it's in the bag since it's scented and we keep the garbage in the garage so just toss it in there and you're done!

u/righteouswolf · 1 pointr/dogs

I simply use doggy bags (been using these for a few years now) and toss them in my garbage bin, which gets picked up once a week.

u/JimGerm · 1 pointr/trashy

I suspect there is no perfect solution. I'd prefer everyone just pickup after their dog and throw away the bags. The bags I use appear to degrade but it probably takes several years (better than thousands of years though).

You might try wiping surfaces with a diluted mixture of vinegar and water. The persistent smell could be trapped in grease molecules/residue in the vent hood, on cabinets, backsplashes, etc. and this should help.

Nature's Miracle and OdoBan are my go-to's for porous surfaces. Maybe spritz one of those on the walls and carpets, then air out.

u/kathalytic · 4 pointsr/Dogtraining

I have a plastic clip I put on my dog's leash that holds bags, similar to this, but no doubt it could be clipped to a dog-pack too.
