  2. Using a pseudonym for her privacy. Farrah Higgins.
Background: Farrah is one of the closest, if not the closest, friends I’ve ever had. She was my choir teacher in high school and much older than I am. I’ve always been rather mature for my age, so I get along better with older people. Well, we clicked and after I graduated we became super close. As you’ll soon figure out, I loved her in more ways than one.

Reason: I don’t even think I have the words to properly describe how grateful I am that she is my friend, how much love I have for her, or just how much I admire her. I think she is absolutely amazing. I could gush on for hours about how amazing I think she is. She is incredibly friendly and loving. It is a blessing to know that God saw fit to create people like her and allow me to be blessed by her presence and faith. I think she is completely insane, well, maybe not completely (that’s reserved for me) but she’s up there.

She was there for me, although not in the flesh, my first semester as a freshman in college. I had no friends and was incredibly lonely. We texted, talked, and/or messaged daily. Looking forward to talking with her is what got me through the day. She gave me new eyes to look through and a different perspective. I believe she helped me grow a lot as a person, challenging me to better myself and ask questions. She understands me better than anyone I’ve ever met. I could look at her and not say a word and she’d know what I was feeling and, if necessary, how to comfort me.

I think she’s beautiful, externally and internally beautiful. External: I love her eyes. (Then again, that is probably because I have always been an eye person.) They are so expressive and so full of love. I love the way her lips pucker when she says and describes something she thinks is ‘beautiful’. I find it adorable. I love her smile. When she smiles, it seems as if all is right with the world. I love her passion for life and her passion for living it. I love her passion for God; it is inspiring and gives me faith. I love her passion for passion; it frightens and excites me. I love how humble she is. As often as people (and I) tell her that she is amazing, she never lets it go to her head. I love her sense of humor. I love how she’s not afraid to make a joke that is ‘wrong’ by every standard. I love how she is so unafraid to speak her mind. It’s so refreshing.

Now to clear up any… issues. I was over 18 when I met her, so don’t fear of some illegal activity or whatever it is people jump to conclusions about. Secondly, although the love is shared, the romantic love is not and mine goes unrequited. We are still friends to this day although from a greater distance due to life taking us in different directions.

I'm really sorry about the length. If it's too long I can modify it.

u/agingenthusiast · 2 pointsr/kratom

Saw your post, checked out your tea tutorial and had to comment...

Have you looked into Bevibags? You could make a rainbow cornucopia of "Kratom Capri Suns," box them up and ship them out : )

...and for the hotter climates and summer season, "Kratom Icee Pops" using these

Here's a thought on the process:

  • the person for whom you would make tea (the recipient of your kind tea making prowess) could buy Bevibags from their own Amazon account and have them shipped directly to you.
  • you can order USPS small/medium/large size flat rate boxes from usps.com and have them delivered to your house all free of charge.
  • the recipient would purchase flat rate shipping postage on usps.com for the appropriately sized flat rate package. The recipient need an account on usps.com, but it's a snap to create one (no, I'm not a government shill for usps, but I use their services a lot). Here's their priority mail flat rates for an idea of the cost for the recipient.
  • after the recipient purchases postage on-line, he/she would download the postage label and email it to you to print out.
  • you make your delicious kratom tea, package it in Bevibags, toss them in the flat rate box, print out the shipping label, seal the box and off goes a gift of kindness and love (to a legal state only, of course!)

I think we may have just launched a new business model for spreading the love of your tea preparation ; )

You would still be doing the tough work of making the tea in this process. However, I'm also thinking that just as others send their kratom to someone to make extract for them, I'm also guessing there would be someone willing to send you their own kratom to outsource the tea making to you, too. With your day job, I'm not sure you'll be able to find the time for all the requests that may be following : ) ...but, for the few close to you, maybe you could try implementing this model. I have followed this process several times with family members when we ship each other stuff, so the receiver can cover shipping in order to receive the goods...it's actually quite easy! It's basically "outsourcing" specific services and splitting costs. It fits perfectly in today's burgeoning "sharing economy."

Good luck and post if you actually do this with anyone and it works well for you
u/Hotelwaffles · 9 pointsr/blogsnark

It helps to know if they have anything in common that they like, obviously, but I have "generically" gifted:

  • Non-grocery store person ground coffee and a travel mug

  • Non-grocery store person whole bean coffee with a grinder

  • Specialty tea (I am not a "tea person" but I love Rishi)

  • A moderately priced bottle of wine with a Corkcicle chiller

  • A Corkcicle canteen (I just saw they had this one in a unicorn finish which is pretty rad)

  • A decent eye shadow palette (Urban Decay Naked Basics2 can be used by anyone of any age, imo)

  • These Kate Spade earrings which everyone seems to love and they are always cheap if you have a KS outlet near you

  • I've never actually given this Le Creuset honeypot, but it is so adorable, who wouldn't want to get this??

  • If they love to bake, cook or grill, I highly highly recommend Penzey's spice kits. They are the best and their CEO is very anti-Trump so it's a win/win.

Anything but hand lotion. OMG, I was thinking about how much hand lotion I have received over the years as a generic gift.

What about a ghost piñata and inside you can have candy, broken fingers, brain candy, anything Halloween oriented. :)

You can have little prizes for the winner of the musical chairs game. Or a pin the finger on the zombie.

Prizes can be a spooky bag for their trick or treating day, for the girls it can be something from monster high. (They have hats, dolls, and activity books from $15 and down in price. Careful though some are expensive but since only one gift not so bad. Plus the girls would love it)

You can make ice into this http://amzn.com/B003AQB2XK it would make them interested to see punch with brains inside. More interesting if you put red food coloring in the ice making process so they really see it in a light colored drink.

http://amzn.com/B005J6RA7Q if you make cupcakes or just want hands coming out of the cake this is cool as well. :)

P.S. it's never too early if you ask me for a Halloween party. Especially since its kids it shouldn't be a problem. They may even like dressing up.
Hope it works out wonderfully!

I'll just give you my generalize copy/pasta I usually hand out in situations like these so if you wanna read it when you got a chance, then you have it! Also has tips and purchase links for Amazon as well for different axolotl stuffs.

HOW TO CYCLE:

  1. Set up tank with clean conditioned water. 2. Add recommended amount of beneficial bacteria per label

  2. Add "waste" to the tank, so a little bit of say fish flakes ( they're cheap and you need a waste source since you DO NOT put a fish or axolotl in a uncycled tank. The flakes are gonna break down into ammonia. The goal with cycling is to get benefical bacteria to build up so they can change (eat) the waste & breaks down the ammonia into nitrite then finally break it down further into nitrate. All these chemicals can hurt axolotl.

  3. Test tank a couple days later with a testing kit ( avoid strips, they will lie to you and give false results) if there is ANY ammonia or nitrite present, you arent cycled. If there is no nitrate present either, you arent cycled.

  4. If you find ammonia or nitrite, take 50% of the water out and add clean treated water. Add more seachem stability ( benefical bacteria) ( add these each time you change water. Even if it's cycled)

  5. Add a pinch more flakes & Continue to do this until your tank is cycled. Meaning you have no ammonia, no nitrite and a presence of 40ppm or less of nitrate.

    Warnings:
1.If your tank isn't cycled, you are going to chemical burn them with ammonia in the water. And they will suffer. Nitrate ( the final of the chemical process) can also burn the fish/axolotl. This is why we keep this number under 40ppm. If it is higher than 40ppm, change the water 75%.

  6. This beneficial bacteria lives in the filter. If you change your filter, you just ruined your cycle. Don't do this. If it gets nasty/clogged & you have to replace the cartirage, leave the old cartirage in with the new one for a few days so the beneficial bacteria can inhabit the new filter. If you can avoid replacing that, just rinse/gently squeeze out the filter in old tank water when you do clean the tank to keep from murdering the bacteria
  7. Letting the filter dry out will also kill a cycle.

  8. *NOTE: Most bottles of beneficial bacteria say they cycle a tank in a day. Cycling can take up to a month in some cases but usually just two weeks if you keep on it. This requires constantly monitoring, testing and replacing most of the water in the tank when you get high ammonia/nitrite levels. You need ammonia/nitrite to be 0 and nitrate to be more than 0. Definitely less <40. If all your levels are higher than this, or if nitrate remains 0, your tank isn't cycled.***

    Summery;
So basically, cycling builds beneficial bacteria which makes these waste breakdown chemicals go through a cycle of breaking down into a less dangerous form which keeps fish/axolotl from getting sick/dying. ... Most new fish people don't do this. And fish store employees try & tell them just adding something like seachem stability fixes this. It doesn't. An uncycled tank is basically new tank syndrome and it kills animals.

You still are going to need to keep an eye on chemical levels after the cycle..Occasionally different things can cause the cycle to "crash", like changing the filters or a high tempeture, or the filters becoming dry..

Once your tank is cycled, and you have an axolotl, honestly it's not that much work. The cycles the worst part. I feed my adult axolotls once every other day, I change 75% of their water twice a month, and add water to top it off / spot clean occasionally two-three other times a month due to the water I lose due to evaporation.

    Stuff you'll need:
  9. Air stone+ airline+ air pump ( cheap ones are at Walmart.
  10. Seachem stability ( beneficial bacteria)
  11. Seachem prime ( it's a water conditioner I just prefer seachem)
  12. A tank, 10 gallon minimum for 1 axolotl. But the bigger the better.
  13. A filter
  14. Hides for the axolotl
  15. A syphon / water vacuum ( to suck out the poo/change water easy. I have a long food grade plastic hose I got from Ace hardware. I syphon and let it drain into the yard
  16. A bucket
  17. A Tupperware
  18. A fan. Literally any fan you can put on top the tank and point at it will work. I have a table fan sitting on top my tank and blowing at the water to help keep it cool. A chiller is best, but they are expensive.
  19. A tank thermometer ( don't get the thermometer strips, they lie
  20. A master fresh water test kit.
  21. Worms or repashy or pellets

Your worries are literally adorable! I will do my best to help easy your frying woes!

You can fry in a cast iron skillet, but if you have a heavy bottomed stock pot or something even heavier like a dutch oven, that will help with heat distribution and reduce splatter.

Peanut oil and coconut oil are both great for frying, but most fats other than olive oil and butter will work. soybean/vegetable/canola are ok, but not as healthy as coconut oil.

Oil is ready when you throw something in and it bubbles/sizzles. You can test this with a few drops of water, but I generally will take a little scrap of the "breading" or cheese or whatever I'm frying and toss it in every few minutes until it seems hot. You can use the back of a wooden spoon and if bubbles collect around the spoon its ready.

To reduce splatter you can buy grease splatter shields which are basically flat strainers. I think it's a waste of space/money. I'd spend your money on a special spatula for removing things once they are done.

Good luck and may all your future frying endeavors be delicious and successful!

I'm a big fan of the isi brand, they are far more proud of them, but I think they're worth the money and you can get parts for them if needed (I've never needed parts in 15 years)

We had the smallest size for years, with the thought that one doesn't need that much whip cream... but have now since acquired both a pint and quart size, you don't need more than a pint imho , so quick and easy to make more if you need it, like 1 minute tops. And the quart one needs like 2 nitrous chargers. We also use the isi chargers they are a bit more expensive, but is not enough to argue about it imho.

Our quick recipe is one cup heavy whipping cream and 2 packets of splenda, and a squirt of vanilla bean extract. You could probably get away without the splenda, and there is a carb in each packet, but we like it.

Nielsen-Massey Vanillas 4-oz Pure Vanilla Bean Paste https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002HQE11O/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_RdbczbDBF17E8

We found the same vanilla locally in a smaller portion for less, but I'll probably buy this next time.

Stupid easy and good, so many things you can do with a whipper too, I've made chocolate malt whip cream that was amazing too... kalua flavored whip cream, really the list is endless.

On a side note, probably not a lot cheaper than rediwhip, but so much better tasting, and don't get me wrong I like rediwhip too!

I just want to second using the immersion blender! My cuisinart stick blender came with a chopper bowl attachment and it's absolutely perfect for blending up homemade baby food. I stick the blender right into the pot when I cook up large batches of baby food, and use the chopper cup when I'm blending up individual meals or smaller batches. I freeze everything in silicone ice cube trays in 1oz portions, and then store them in labeled zipper bags. Then just thaw as I go. It's super easy, and the homemade food looks and tastes SO much better than the jarred stuff. Like, actual vibrant colors and flavors, not overcooked and bland. You can also season things however you like (vanilla, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, fresh herbs, etc.) and it's way less expensive.

Not to mention that you'll get a ton of use out of a stick blender if you're any kind of a home cook. Homemade mayo, soups, sauces, fast whipped cream, etc.

EDIT: These are the trays I use, if you're interested!

Hello, dearie! After looking at your WL again, I'd swear we are almost twinsies! BTW, your little one? is adorbs.

I think you should buy the seeds and the strawberry plant! Get those babies growing! Or get those ice cube trays and make some iced tea ice cubes! I've been on a shoe kick (okay, wait, when am I NOT on a shoe kick) but treat yo'self to those awesome kicks.

As for me and my greediness, I would love this shirt for my friend. We're super psyched for Despicable Me 2 (July 3rd) and I'd love to give this to him to wear when we go see it. I also very much like this belt and need it to keep my pants up since I lost weight!

They have large pouches which are chunkier in texture, I usually find them on the same aisle as the applesauce. You can also subscribe & save with amazon! Be careful and check labels because some of them have dyes and artificial sweeteners, if you are wanting to avoid that.

If you have a thermos type container you can make a smoothie and toss a spoon in there and let him eat it like that. You could put in his cherrios and show him how to top the smoothie with cherrios and he might like the combo. Or you can just give him a straw and let him drink it.

Zipsicle bags are good! I make a big smoothie batch and keep them in the fridge and put one in my daughter's lunch almost every day. They are pretty long and hold a good bit.

These silicone ones are good too. I have some of these and they are awesome for smoothies and yogurt.

u/emnemzzz · 2 pointsr/bettafish

It was most likely the copper sulfate that did it :(

For the zucchini, I cut it up and blanch it first to soften it up, which is basically just boiling it for a few minutes but not fully cooking it, then rinse with cold water and stick them in the freezer. I like to lay them out on a plate first then put them in a freezer bag later on, otherwise they all freeze together in a clump. I use a veggie clip, and just stick it to the tank wall and it’ll thaw out quick once it’s in the water. I take out whatever hasn’t been eaten (if it hasn’t already been demolished) within a day or two so it doesn’t get gross in the tank

As for the gel, I use 1-2 tbsp of repashy soilent green, 1/2 tbsp of calcium carbonate power, 1 cube of frozen blood worms, and some boiled, dechlorinated water (2 parts water 1 part repashy powder). Then just mix together well and let it set 20-30 mins. You can cut it into pieces after it sets, otherwise I find it easier to pour it into these little molds then let it set:

Once it’s all set, refrigerate it and discard any leftovers after 2 weeks

Mystery snails eat a lot, but will always stop eating when they’re full and come back to the food later, unlike fish so don’t be worried about overfeeding. Besides making sure they get lots of nutrients, they’re pretty easy to care for and fun to watch. Good luck if you end up getting more!

u/woojay · 2 pointsr/AskCulinary

A few things I could suggest;

  1. As already mentioned, the alginate bath is too weak. I shoot for 1%/wt alginate, meaning every 100g of water I add 1% sodium alginate.
1.1. Similarly, the amount of calcium is not enough. I also shoot for 1%/wt on calcium on my flavor base. This has to be blended in, not whisked in.

  2. Once alginate is blended in w/ water, leave it alone as long as reasonable. I refrigerate mine overnight if I can. I hate to drop anything unless my alginate bath is at least 2 hours old. If not, there will be lots of tiny bubbles that will interfere w/ consistent reaction.

  3. If you can pre-make the flavor base, the easiest way to make big orbs is to freeze them before. I use these; http://www.amazon.com/BNYD-round-Flexible-Silicone-Bottom/dp/B00IOW4LME/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1450760491&sr=8-14&keywords=round+ice+tray (there are others but this is my recent favorite for price). But w/ fatty ingredients they may separate upon fully thawing, inside the membrane. They look cool when they do that, but the taste/mouthfeel would have to be judged subjectively.

    3.1. If freezing beforehand, a few things to try;

3.1.1. Try to make the 'gnocchi' as thick' as possible to help them stay together

3.1.2. Try to make the alginate bath a bit stronger, say 1.5%/wt to make it thicker as well.

3.1.3. You can also leave them in the bath a bit longer, for thicker skin. Part of the challenge w/ this recipe is that there are quite a few fatty ingredients that will inhibit proper reaction. Letting them stay longer in the bath help to bridge over those fatty gap and develop stronger membrane.

  4. If dropping frozen orbs, I microwave the bath until they are about 110F. At this temperature it takes about 1 minutes to develop thick enough skin. You do have to watch out and make sure it doesn't freeze to the bottom of the bath. If this happens, you have to very gently nudge them off the bottom.

Kind of comment hijacking here, but just want to make sure you're aware there is an increased risk of bloat with raised bowls. This is definitely an awesome piece of DIY, just want to make sure people are aware of bloat. In very large dog breeds, 52% of bloat cases were associated with raised bowls. (http://www.petmd.com/blogs/fullyvetted/2009/july/raised-bowls-and-bloat-ratcheting-controversy-risk-gdv-dogs-6861)
"Approximately 20 and 52% of cases of GDV among the large breed and giant breed dogs, respectively, were attributed to having a raised feed bowl. (J Am Vet Med Assoc 2000;217:1492–1499)"

You can reduce the risk by slowing their eating. We put one of these in the bowl and then kibble just goes right in it, works really well https://www.amazon.com/Elbee-Coolest-15-Cube-Silicone-Tray/dp/B00KC3R5H6/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1498771586&sr=1-4&keywords=silicone+ice+tray

Oddly enough, whiskey stones are actually one of the least efficient ways to cool your drink. Obviously the "cool factor" has been widely accepted, but you're actually better off with ice cubes (the best option if you don't mind them watering down your drink) or reusable ice cubes (almost as good as real ice, however they could hardly be considered "cool").

We as human beings are way too easily influenced.

u/californicating · 3 pointsr/food

A lot of people are suggesting you use a deep skillet or pan and fry them on one side at a time.

These methods will work quite well, but I want to add three things that I think are very important:

  1. Get an oil or candy thermometer. You need to keep the oil below its smoke point or you'll be setting off fire alarms. This is the best way to make sure you keep the oil at a constant temperature.

  2. Get a splatter guard! I'm serious, these are important. They will help keep your stove top clean, and may prevent you from getting burned.

  3. Lastly, the first time you try deep-frying something in a pan, have a window open with a fan nearby that you can turn on if the oil starts smoking. Even if you don't set off any alarms, burning oil has a pretty distinct and rather unpleasant smell which can permeate your house if your not careful. Make sure to position the fan to pull air out of the house, not in.

    Good luck.

Greetings and salutations!

I had decided that my in-office days would be perfect for longer IF sessions - I wouldn't have to pack a lunch, and have plenty of coffee and tea stashed at my desk. Had to work later than usual (on a Friday afternoon, gack) and ended up with 22 hours of fasting. I thought about going for a full 24 hours but screw that, I had leftover roasted spareribs in the fridge. I must confess that I officially broke the fast with a big spoonful of whipped cream (I bought this cream whipper and like it a lot), but yes, I did weigh and log it first!

Waiting in the fridge for the start of today's feeding time is some lovely turkey chili. I like beans in my chili so I added Eden black soy beans (3.5g net carbs for the entire 15oz can!) to extra-lean ground turkey, mushrooms, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, chopped collard greens, and more chili powder than normal humans would consume. So yummy and so filling. It balances out those high-fat spareribs, too!

So about IF... yesterday I was grumbling to myself about why the hell I'm fasting and what's the point and so many people are doing fine on Keto without it and why am I giving up my morning coffee with cream and why did I recently start limiting myself to 1200 calories and I don't wanna do this anymore and... checks Cronometer trend chart for weight... oh yeah. I'm down 4 pounds since last week.

Forgot to drink ketoade yesterday. Paid for it last night. Owwwwwwww. I can deal with calf cramps and foot cramps (standing and stretching eases the pain) but cannot find a way to ease those intensely painful thigh cramps. They hurt far more than any other cramps, too. Any ideas?

Molecular Gastronomy Spherirication is really fun and sciency. I made little balsamic vinegar spears when I did it for a project but you can do it with fruit juice and then put them on ice cream. They are kinda like boba but much smaller. I used these pipettes to make the spheres (if you decide to do this, I still have a bunch and totally willing to send you some if you would like) It was pretty fun and I'm an adult. Also I have a simpler recipe but mine is specifically for vinegar...not sure if that matters...

These brain ice cube trays would make ice or you could make mini brain jello jigglers.

u/Moogagot · 8 pointsr/alcohol

Do this instead. Buy the following:

  • A bottle of whiskey or vodka
  • A few different juices (personally, I enjoy lemonade).
  • A pack or two of Zipsicles.

In a pitcher, fill the lower 8th with booze. Fill the rest with juice. Pour into the Zipzicles and freeze in the back of your freezer for 2 days. Serve in a small cooler full of Ice.

Keep in mind: If you make these too strong, they will not freeze. This are fun and oddly strong. You end up with a shot or so per freeze pop. ENJOY!

I have one just like that, and it works pretty well. However, I hate cleaning it. America's Test Kitchen recommends this one and I love that there's no spout. Looks like it's so much easier to clean, and according to them, it works better. I may be switching to this one.

u/teamrobbo · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

This is easy:

  1. Set up a couple of discreet security cameras. Two should do it, three if you want to get a little more artsy with the editing.
  2. Have a honeypot package delivered. If you have a sense of humor, I would go with an actual honey pot.
  3. Capture the perp on camera; edit footage together and set it to a dramatic soundtrack.
  4. Burn the video to DVD. I would probably take the extra step and design a nice DVD case cover as well, but it's up to you.
  5. Package up the DVD at your Post Office. Use a visible, enticing box size that your perp won't be able to pass up. Send the package to your address.

If this were happening to me, I would be grateful for the opportunity for shenanigans. Just my $0.02.

Ultra-Purewhip and Whip-It! brands seem to be most commonly used for huffing. The Whip-It! brand actually specifies that they use medical grade nitrous... for whipped cream. And check out the graphics. I'm amazed they get away with it.

Thanks, Drunk Me, for ordering shit I don't really want, but will happily accept anyway. My weekend will now be hilarious.

u/Jurph · 1 pointr/Coffee

Use a wider-necked juice bottle like the 1.75L "simply" bottles; make sure you have two of them, or one bottle and a 2L container.

Put in 100g of coffee, ground to the same coarseness you use for French Press. Fill it with cold, filtered water and let it sit in your fridge for a day or two. Make sure to flip & shake after about an hour to ensure you don't have pockets of dry powder plugging up the neck of the bottle.

When you're ready to strain it, get a couple of cheap sink strainers, or pantyhose, or a nut milk bag. Put them in a funnel. Put a clean empty bottle in the sink, set the funnel in its neck, and set your filter(s) in the funnel (if you're using sink strainers you'll need at least 3 stacked up). Pour from the cold brew bottle -- gently! -- so the settled grounds don't come loose. When you get to the end of your first pour the filters will clog up quickly, so go slowly.

Once you've transferred the cold brew to the clean bottle, cap it and set it aside. Rinse out the brewing bottle, clean it, and repeat the transfer process, pouring back to the brew bottle. Repeat that process as many times as you like until there are no more big particles. You can do a super-fine final pour through a paper filter if you really want, but in general your particles will sink to the bottom and as long as you pour slowly you'll be fine.

You can get the whole cold brew setup (sink strainers, funnels, juice bottles, and beans) for $20-$25 and the bottles should last 6-10 refills before you notice the plastic getting discolored.

Coconut oil melts easily so it's not surprising you're dealing with a pot of liquid right now. My suggestion is to get a small ice cube tray like this style and just put enough liquid coconut oil to cover the colored silicone bottom. That's what I did when I made my own DIY Foria Relief suppositories and honestly for a sex/masturbation session you could use even less than I did in each well because it was too much for me. Then you stick the tray in the fridge and pop one out when you need some lube. It will only take a minute or less for that little nugget to warm to your body and melt when you're ready for it.

Unfortunately, no. If you’re completely new to developing and haven’t yet done black and white, there’s a bit of an initial expense. I’m going to just list off everything I use for developing. It’s actually pretty compact, I’ve thrown it all in my car on impulse and developed C41 at friends’ houses a few times. I store it all in a small cooler which I also fill with water while developing. Since the developer needs to be 102°F with moderated precision for the duration of the developing time, it helps to have a larger body of water that won’t lose temperature as quickly. So first step for me is to fill this cooler slightly upwards of 102° to put the tank in while I’m not agitating. If you’ve got a cooler, great; if not:

---

  • Cooler - $27.50 on Amazon

  • Changing bag - $13.95 on Adorama

  • Accordion bottle (x2) for developer and blix - $14.99 on Amazon

  • Regular bottle is alright for stabilizer - $3.95 on Adorama

  • Tank and reels - $31.77 on Amazon

  • Funnel(s) to put chemicals back - $2.20 on Amazon — it helps to have a few to avoid the developer and blix coming into contact with each other

  • Thermometer (ideally waterproof, digital is nice) $4.99 on Amazon

    ---

I think that’s about it! You can definitely go cheaper if you look around. The one thing I wouldn’t cheap out on though is the tank/reels. I started with a really cheap stainless steel setup. My reels came pretty bent up and took ages to load, like half an hour at times. I’d often have film stick to itself. I tried C41 with it one time and got blix everywhere, plus it was leaking in the cooler underwater. Everyone says Patterson is the way to go, and I haven’t tried much else but it’s served me well.

They’re a nifty kitchen tool - make whipped cream or mousse instantly, infuse oils, or even infuse oils into something...there are a lot of cool uses for them. Chargers are relatively inexpensive if you buy a few dozen.

u/sallybangs · 2 pointsr/sexover30

Get these. Fill them with melted oil and then pop them in the fridge. If your bedroom stays cool enough, you can keep some nearby. When it comes time to play, pop one out. I’ve just directly inserted them into holes and let them melt during foreplay. Or you can melt them in your hands and spread them wherever necessary.

Thats the cost locally here, my friend used to do it, and said it was about the same price from when he lived on the other side of the state. It makes sense that it would be cheaper from ebay or other sources because they could just get it from a country that doesn't restrict it at all.

u/surfing-cyber-chef · 5 pointsr/onepotmeals

They are designed exactly to freeze liquidy foods like the bone broth or stew and are called Souper Cubes. You can get them on amazon.

u/shaege · 12 pointsr/castiron

That's why god invented these.

But seriously, that pan better be going in the oven, not on the stove.

u/callmejay · 2 pointsr/keto

Nice!

Have you tried a splatter guard?

u/WestsideBuppie · 1 pointr/EatCheapAndHealthy

Even better, buy Soupercubes - Reusabl esilicon cubes come with a lid and hold a cup of food or liquid.

u/skwacky · 13 pointsr/lifehacks

rubber trays would be the better alternative

u/Usrname52 · 1 pointr/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

What the fuck is a whiskey stone? the shape looks like it'd be really awkward to drink around. Is there any reason it'd be better than something like this?

u/raduque · 1 pointr/Aquariums

Float some reusable ice cubes?

Maybe something like this?

u/barnacledoor · 8 pointsr/AskCulinary

would one of these help? a splatter shield.

u/rival100guy · 1 pointr/kratom

Making your own capsules is the way to go. I was using a funnel set like this: https://amzn.to/2NCiyTL along with a pencil eraser to pack it in. I think you can also get capsule machines to mass produce them.

Just FYI, Whip-it is a brand of gas-powered cream whipping devices. Whippets are a breed of skinny, fast-running dogs.

sounds like you need this then.

u/gegtik · 1 pointr/Coffee

well, at 4 double-shots per cartridge, you are looking at approx 14c / shot.

If you get a $150 Twist instead of a $650 Rancilio Silvia, you will have to make over 3500 espressos before the cost evens out. It's not worth obsessing over the minute cost difference per shot when the device itself is so much cheaper

u/MonolithOfTyr · 4 pointsr/outside

I was gifted mine by another player but am considering replacement as it's become worn.

https://www.amazon.com/Grease-Splatter-Screen-Frying-Pan/dp/B01GFQFGFQ

This one is even better than mine as it has a higher initial durability rating.

u/AMorpork · 9 pointsr/funny

Yeah, you can buy the canisters (on amazon no less!) they use to charge them with.

Edit: Teehee.

u/laguano · 2 pointsr/food

/u/Pipstuh made them, and talks about them in this thread.

I have one of these [Honey Jar] (http://www.amazon.com/Le-Creuset-Stoneware-16-Ounce-Honey/dp/B002JKMSZY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367686296&sr=8-1&keywords=honey+jar) and it works great with practically no mess as long as when you dip it, you also twirl it as you move from jar to whatever your putting the honey on or in.

u/kai_al_sun · 5 pointsr/minipainting

I bought a set of small funnels off amazon and coated them with rustoleum “never wet” The paint just slides off the funnel into the bottle leaving very little waste.

Edit: found the link to the funnels. Norpro Stainless Steel Funnels, Set of 3 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FKERMW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_S8zZCbYVQCVCX

u/thecravenone · 3 pointsr/AskCulinary

You mean like this?

u/josephmagnolia · 1 pointr/Coffee

These look good...

But if we're making all kinds of substitutions, why not just use a regular funnel and siphon it right into our mug / carafe?

I don't have a chemex, but I'm assuming that the only aspect of it that distinguishes it is the filter.

u/ajfirecracker · 1 pointr/Coffee

They look reasonable - MyPressi sells them for 24 cans @ $16 when in stock

You can also use whip-its which are just over 50 cents each

u/bhoff22 · 1 pointr/pics

Have you tried an oil screen?

u/oldcrow · 13 pointsr/keto

Get one of these.

And then remember to use it, or my girlfriend will yell at you.

u/El_Hechizado · 3 pointsr/Cooking

If you're worried about grease splattering all over the place when frying, it's worth investing in a stainless steel splatter-guard:

http://www.amazon.com/Cuisipro-746588-13-Inch-Splatter-Guard/dp/B00004SU1E

The mesh lets air through, so you won't be steaming whatever you're frying at the same time, but keeps grease from flying out all over your walls and stove range. It comes in really handy when making bacon.

u/The_Kief_Chief · 1 pointr/Drugs

I don't know man...move to Seattle. I saw people hitting the cracker in public areas quite commonly during my years living there, as nitrous is extremely commonly sold in like every smoke shop around the city and they advertise the fuck out of it; There's even a big cardboard cut-out person holding a whip cream canister advertising it (https://www.amazon.com/Whip-It-Whipped-Cream-Chargers-50-Pack/dp/B001MUJHKG It's a life-sized cutout of the girl on this box )

The vagrants who can't afford nitrous chargers are sitting on the sidewalk huffing cans of spray paint...another thing that I came across more than one time. But yeah man, there are lots of empty chargers laying around the city.

u/talkincat · 3 pointsr/FoodVideos

Stop putting your face down near the pan?

I've never had a problem with that when cooking a steak. For bacon, I use one of these:

The coffee filter idea could work for silt - this https://www.amazon.com/Pour-Over-Coffee-Filter-Reusable/dp/B01DY6FO8O into a funnel of some type https://www.amazon.com/Nopro-Plastic-Funnel-Set-3/dp/B000HJBFC6/ref=sr_1_4?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1511172903&sr=1-4&keywords=funnel then some hosing into your befree - you would need to carry a dirty water hydration sack to scoop up the water first

u/Voiceless_Monk · 2 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

For pouring I use a stainless steel funnel. But depending on the bottle size, I might also use a 25Ml serological pipette with hand pump.

Downside to the pump & pipette combo, you need steady hands as it's just over 20 inches long, can be a little unwieldy.

u/velvetjones01 · 2 pointsr/AskCulinary

I am straight up asking for this fat separator. I've been avoiding it, thinking it was unnecessary. In terms of culinary gifts, I prefer to give food. I make hot fudge, homemade Irish cream, candy. For my mom and dad I stop by the cheese shop and get them expensive pasta etc.

If you used a mini brain ice tray as a mold then suspended them in a different colour you could make jello shots
