Ive had them on for about 4-5 months and the bottoms are beginning to curl. if you do choose to get a set you should definitely get ones that are better quality.

Not sure specifically with the Sparco Universals, but I can say I purchased the Rally Armor UR's and it wasn't a "heavy" amount of modification. The WRX has pre-drilled holes to support the addition of mudflaps, so the install just involves basically installing a spacer and some screws. Could you provide a link to the ones you're specifically looking at?

Edit: Are you looking at ones like these? If so, I think the only think you'd need to do is align the mudflap and drill some holes into the mudflap itself. I'm not sure if these come predrilled, as it looks like in the image that they are just a solid piece. That could end up being a little tricky in regards to aligning it, as I had to go back and forth aligning mine on the Rally Armor UR's and those were pre-drilled and sized specifically for the WRX.

I got a pair of real cheap universal flaps off amazon. You have to drill your own holes in the flaps but theres already screw holes in the wheel wells so you don't need to do that. If you can bootleg a tool you dont even need to remove your tire (i taped a small screwdriver attachment to a wrench haha)

Well so I just went back and checked and it turns out they're the basic ones, so whoops. Now I know at least that I can upgrade them lol.

Yeah it's a 3rd gen, I bought these ones. Package comes with 2 of them and I didn't do any trimming or anything, just put holes where the existing bolts are and added one extra screw that they included near the top.

The latter are what I used on the 17' sport. Much prefer the old school style flaps myself.

I went with the Mopar molded splash guards, ordered mine from Amazon. They significantly reduce the amount of debris my tires kick up on the sides of my car.

There are plenty of options out there though. Mopar, JLT, ZL1, etc.
