So I bought a PC for my birthday back in January. Mine was custom built instead of buying a prebuilt model. I already owned a Logitech G920 wheel/pedals (I recommend for you btw, bought for $200 and quality piece by comparison). And I bought the playseat challenge sim chair off amazon as well which cost me $250. Iracing itself has multiple offers for beginners signing up to receive a free months worth of the service to try it out. I went with a 50% off 1 year subscription which cost me around $70-$80. Once you have the software downloaded, that’s all you “have” to buy. I have pumped a lot more money in it to race each discipline, with multiple cars and tracks being purchased. However you do not have to do this and many people will tell you not to (my opinion, do whatever you want that makes you happy. There’s no wrong way to approach iracing.) once you’ve downloaded the software you can run the rookie street stocks, and you might even see Dale Jr now, until you get your safety rating up high enough to begin your ascent through the licenses.

I’ve loved the service and have even bought iracing shirts off of their partnered web store.
However it can be expensive off the bat for sure, but through time the costs really diminish, as I haven’t bought content in several months. It may seem like a lot but I honestly can say it offers some of the most fun, and frustrating experiences you can’t find in other sims/games.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask! Also if you sign up shoot me a PM and I can send you my referral code and I believe we both get $10 on iracing credit!

So I genuinely was not expecting this to blow up like it has. I might as well answer the questions that have been asked all on one comment as replying to everybody is impossible.

The PS4 is for exclusives and a group of friends are all based on there, so why not the best of both worlds?

The title regarding my 9-5 job is because I lacked a better title.

There is also a HTC Vive tucked away to the left which I am currently borrowing from a friend before deciding to buy one, but I left it out due to the inevitable mess of cables it causes.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N64KJ9W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - This is the monitor mount. I have seen a few people ask for this.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01DAYSNU6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - This is the adapter I needed for the left monitor, hence it being slightly higher than the right.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00QLL01BA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - This is the left monitor connected to the PC.

Thanks for all of the support! You guys are great.

u/makanaj · 2 pointsr/OfficeChairs

I don't have experience with that chair in particular, but if you're looking to save some money I would recommend this chair: https://www.amazon.com/Homall-Computer-Executive-Ergonomic-Adjustable/dp/B01MRZ02TL/
I bought it last October and it's served me very well. The only issue I had was resolved by the customer service, which has replaced the hydraulic lift for me when it started dying last month (that's happened on every chair I order online).
I personally don't like arm rests, so if you depend on arm rests and being able to adjust them, that would be the main down side of this chair compared to the one you linked. I'm 6'2" and 240 pounds and this chair holds me very well

hope that helps!

u/OMGitsLunaa · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I just bought this chair off of Amazon. It is coming in the mail either today or tomorrow, and I can tell you how good it is after I use it. It has lumbar support, a head pillow, and arms that swing up, so it was perfect for me, especially in the price range.

Edit: chair is very comfortable, easy to assemble, and overall great build quality for the price. However, I am worried about its lifespan simply because its a Chinese knockoff. The manual is also hilarious, because they obviously used Google translate to write it

u/MisterSentinel · 0 pointsr/Fitness

Any leather office chair (e.g. http://www.amazon.co.uk/SANTANA-EXECUTIVE-LEATHER-COMPUTER-FURNITURE/dp/B00A3BZ8VW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1459334608&sr=8-3&keywords=leather+office+chair)

or specifically gaming chairs (they're optimised for comfort, but look a bit strange): http://www.amazon.co.uk/GT-OMEGA-RACING-OFFICE-LEATHER/dp/B00PE7JV4A/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1459334634&sr=8-9&keywords=gaming+chair

They're going to be quite good for your posture. Leather office chairs and gaming chairs are designed to expect someone sitting on them for hours doing work. They're meant to be comfortable and promote good posture.

Gaming chairs are probably the best. Stuff like DX Racer.

>And also I know nothing about reddit so, am I way out of line with this or can anyone please help me?

You're out of line posting to this subreddit. On reddit, there's an area to the right on every subreddit called the sidebar. You need to read that in order to learn what the subreddit is about, and what's appropriate to post there. This is a sub for discussion of games, so posting a "what should I buy" request here is mistaken.

That said, we're not jerks. If your boyfriend doesn't have a good set of headphones for PC gaming, V-MODA M-80s are on a good sale on Amazon today.

If he didn't ask for that "gaming chair for tv-games", you might want to double-think that purchase. If it's something like this, these sorts of chairs are usually scoffed at by adult gamers. Couch gamers are usually happy with couches. Couches are great.

Don't be discouraged by this reddit experience. Reddit's a nice place if you follow the rules and post relevant content to the right subreddits.

u/PirateBaeDotSE · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

This is what I have.

Very comfortable and stable. I don't use the speakers but they do sound pretty good for how small they are (when you are right next to it). I was lucky and got it when Amazon had it on sale for $60. I'd say it's still worth the full price.

u/Pwnish3r_89 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I like it. I don’t know what those $500 chairs are like.. but this one is pretty good to me :)

Homall Executive Swivel Leather Gaming Chair, Racing Style High-back Office Chair With Lumbar Support and Headrest (White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRZ02TL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_5cF2Ab4EMG9CJ

u/llliterateChild · 12 pointsr/buildapcsales

I'll dig around to see what I can find out about these.

u/ericzw · 1 pointr/buildapc

I looked at Herman Miller, their chairs look very nice. But the fact is I would not spend 600 dollars on a chair. Sorry, thats just my opinion. I understand why good chairs are helpful, but at the end of the day I don't think its worth it. I would not spend more that 150 dolalrs on a chair, unless it was really revolutionary. Not to say I don't care about my health, I would spend 600 dollars or more on a standing desk.

I'm not trying to sound pompous while saying this, I am really curious. What makes this chair:

https://www.amazon.com/Herman-Miller-Embody-Chair-Graphite/dp/B01DGM7ZII/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1537062133&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=herman+miller&psc=1

worth so much more than this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Furmax-Ergonomic-Adjustable-Executive-Computer/dp/B01LXXM5EK/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1537062103&sr=8-10&keywords=chair

Edit: Thanks for responding in a conversational manner.

Edit: In my opinion, there are plenty of great options for 100 dollars or less. I can link a few. I might be wrong, I'm not a chair expert, but they look fine to me.

u/thegreekgamer42 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Honestly I’m really happy with mine, the lumbar and head supports it has really help me during long sessions. I wouldn’t spend over $200 for one though think more along the lines of;

this

or maybe this

Realistically any office chair with the proper supports that’s within your budget and looks comfy.

u/RouletteZoku · 10 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have a different brand chair (but my guess is they're all made in the same factory). Not a bad price considering free shipping.

This is the specific chair I have.

Here's another example of a clearly similar chair.

It was easy to assemble, is relatively comfortable, tilts/swivels and has adjustable height.

I'm not sure if this specific model can lean back, if it can't then I would say pass, and grab one of the other two chairs I listed since the price is similar, and the definitely can lean back.

u/draggoon127 · 2 pointsr/gamingsuggestions

I went to my local Staples before looking online and saw some pretty good ones in both places. I found a nice one at Staples that reclines and turns 360 degrees which was the closest I could get to a rocking chair which I am quite fond of. I did however find this and this and I'm torn. I know Staples' chairs are comfortable because I tried them in the store and the price is pretty good, but the ones online are roughly the same price, if not lower and have some kind of sound system built into the chair but I'm not sure about their functionality or if they're comfortable.

u/TackleballShootyhoop · 1 pointr/cringepics

I just got this chair a few weeks ago. I didn't want to shell out a lot of money on a chair, but for $65 I am really liking it. It actually looks better in person, too. The picture doesn't really do it justice.

u/Dudewitagun94 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Get a chair with loblar support and good reviews.

I bought the gaming chair Hommal that is one of those race car style chairs with lombar support and neck pillow. Resembles IKEA brand.

It was around 115 bucks.

I have used it for a whole year every day for several hours and I can tell you now that it os by far the best chair ive used for desks / computers etc. And ive been using office chairs in the 100-200 dollar range.

Get something like mine or get a premium one. They seem to be trending but the utillity of them is great. Never has my back felt so good!

They are premium products and are advertised as such

To be honest, the dx racers are amazing, aesthetically but very expensive for my taste. I cannot fathom spending over 150 for a chair

They are very comfortable but some features I found Unecessary or pointles,I mean who is gonna wanna turn their chair into a table!?

I have settled for the homall desk chair it's like 80 on amazon

https://www.amazon.com/Homall-High-Back-Computer-Executive-Ergonomic/dp/B01MRZ02TL/ref=pd_m_ba_rp_of_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZQGKB2THBD0W28WKQ4X0 This chair has a high weight limit, initially why I bought it because I was 300's, fortunately I can say that I'm 225 now! Anyways onto the details. Yes it's a cheaper chair. Yes it has flaws. The arm rests get loose easy but can easily be tightened with the tool they give you. Unfortunately mine squeaks from using it when I was heavier. My fiance has one too and hers doesn't squeak at all. It's rather comfortable and would reccomend giving it a shot if you haven't pulled the trigger yet. I was skeptical because of the reviews but overall its been a good chair for 100 bucks.

u/noeled_ · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Haha yeah they're just a bit expensive. I need a new chair as well, I think my current one is on it's way out. Too bad my budget is piss poor at the moment.

This one looks very similar to the one in the photo, but by Devoko instead. It's loads cheaper and it's got pretty good reviews as well! It might be worth checking out.

u/FamousSuccess · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I feel your pain. I have a comfortable normal office chair. It's above average for sure, but it does lack some of the support really needed. I want to upgrade to something with more neck/head support. I've been looking at this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRZ02TL/ref=psdc_668180011_t3_B0031LKYMY

Now I will say, you've got half a foot and 50 lbs on me. I can't speak to the sizing except that generally when I'm in these type of chairs, the top of the chair is above my head. In my experience with racing seats (real ones for cars), taller/wider folk get by just fine by purchasing a "Wide" variation of a seat. It's mostly in the shoulder that create the most discomfort, so accounting for the helps the most.

u/MarzMan · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have a Lorell which is pretty good except for the hydraulic piston which I replaced with a larger one. The mesh is very durable and fairly comfortable.

Just looking, amazon has some cheap mesh chairs and they look to be highly rated. Seat padding looks sub-par but the flip up arms is an awesome feature.

These types are the gold standard gaming chair but they are made for a specific body type and I don't fit that mold even remotely, I'm far too tall and wide for them so I've never even wanted to try them out. This is most likely a knockoff brand. DXRacer is the one brand I've looked at, they've been around a few years.

u/RektMonster · 1 pointr/buildapc

this is the chair I use https://www.amazon.com/Polar-Aurora-High-Back-Executive-Ergonomic/dp/B07JFSVKXL/ref=asc_df_B07JFSVKXL/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312150497961&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4435445069775915904&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9027845&hvtargid=pla-569832001424&ref=&adgrpid=62433996872&th=1 it's pretty comfortable and easily to sleep on it also comes in different colors if you want that. they have some other chairs as well if you want to check them out its called polar aurora they make all kinds of chairs from gaming chairs to office chairs they even have a "gaming recliner" for some reason

u/Zachkay · 12 pointsr/buildapc

Amazon has tons of chairs that are basically ripoffs of dxr racers and other fancy brands. I got one of these a few months ago and absolutely love it. I just took off the armrests because I don't like them in general. Super comfy, can play games for hours without getting sore or legs falling asleep.

These are the ones I am talking about. If you shop around you may find they aren't as bad as you think. I got mine for $179 on sale at microcenter.

Pretty sure my nextlevel was about $250. If you are sold on the next level I am sure we could work out something. I just want it out of my basement. It's barely used.

u/madscribbler · 13 pointsr/battlestations

Very. It ha a nice Recliner, the footrest is long with thick padding and strapping , seat very padded also. Back had lots of positions and ver small gradiatons can define the recline.

I do like iy a lot. Only complaint cupjolder had a little slop, but easy enouff to fix with a kozy or spoo sock. :)

Personally I went from a super nice plush leather executive chair to this.
Wasn't an upgrade.
It's a $90 gaming chair and as such it's not amazing but it is definitely good.

Yep, here you go.

I’m not very picky when it comes to my chair. I just wanted a bucket with a high back that also looked good. It’s cheap and had good reviews, so I got it. I haven’t had it for long, but I’m very happy with it this far.

I use the "OpenWheeler Advanced Racing Seat", which does let you remove the steering wheel and mount a HOTAS if you want.

I can't say how it holds up to its competition as it's the only racing seat I've ever owned, but it's very adjustable and works well for what I use it for. Only thing I couldn't do was reverse the position of my pedals (for rally racing), but in no way has it been a deal breaker. I use a gear shifter with mine and it took some elbow grease to secure it tight enough so that it doesn't wobble during use, but again, no significant complaints considering the price point it's at. I've had mine right around 1 year.

Openwheeler Advanced Racing Seat Amazon U.S.

It was available in different colors at the time I bought mine. It says unavailable in the U.K. for some reason (which is odd to me since the company is U.K. based afaik). I still see a few other similarly priced products though that look as good or better than mine.

Edit: Mine does have the center column which was off-putting at first, but hasn't proved to be an issue either. Still, if I were re-buying, I'd get one without that.

u/PrintsHD · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This chair seems pretty good for $65

I’d say you generally want to go for something that goes the length of your back and supports your neck. Also, some decent cushioning, no one wants to sit on a wooden plank.

Lastly and this may depend on your preference, arm rests. Ones that connect to the bottom and back of the chair so they don’t wiggle around, some people may not want arm rests so they can push their chair in under their desk, but I find them nice when leaning back and watching movies on my computer.

u/grtkbrandon · 4 pointsr/battlestations

It's the X Rocker Executive Office Chair, though I don't know any executive that would have if it in his or her office. It is pretty comfortable, though the back sort of protrudes in an odd place. I actually saw it on here and bought it because I liked the way it looked and needed a new chair.

u/xamomax · 3 pointsr/oculus

I would like to see some sort of low cost cockpit that can be configured for flight sim, racing sims, and other cockpit type games in such a way that the various controls can be adjusted to line up to their real locations in games. Something like this, except with more mounting points for lots of accessories (wheels, fans, joysticks, butt kickers, speakers, pedals, etc.), the ability to do at least a little bit of basic roll/pitch motion, and designed specifically for the needs of VR.

Like you, I have sponsored a lot of kickstarters, and am unsure how many of them were wise... At this point, I'm not sponsoring any more, but taking a wait-and-see approach. I'm really curious what Oculus will come up with.

u/mrjackm124 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Desk was designed and built by me and a buddy using pine wood from Home Depot. Decided to try something different by cutting out a "trench" on both sides of the top of table and laying RGB strips in and sealing them in with a frosted acrylic sheet. The acrylic was a bitch to cut out so they aint perfect but I'm very happy with the result.

Here is the link to the exact chair. I own it and love it, particularly that the arm rest lift up and you can lean back. However, the cushion is not very comfortable. For a gaming chair your best bet would apparently be the SecretLab Titan, however you could take a chance with this cheaper version. My concern with the cheaper one is the armrests don't adjust and filtering amazon reviews by "arm rests" suggests they're crappy and fail.

Edit: though if you look more and more the consensus seems to be you should buy the equivalent of a $500 office chair which will ostensibly look after your back for 15 years +. Loads of reviews & articles about this e.g.
