Had glasses since middle school until very recently, much of this has already been said by others but just to reiterate:

  • Use microfiber cloths 100% of the time when you wipe your glasses, and clean the glasses before using the cloths. I had one at my computer, one in my car and one at my desk at work. Try to get the kind that are thicker and denser, as they'll pick up more grease and oils before needing to be washed.
  • To clean the glasses, use hot water and a speck of dish soap like /u/SaiNushi recommended or use something like Koala Kleaner.
  • Don't touch the lenses. If you do, clean the lens before wiping.
  • They should only be on your face or in their case.
  • Clean the pads/area where they touch your face weekly at least, maybe more frequent if you have an oilier face. This part can smell if you don't keep it clean, though you probably won't smell it while they're on your face, anyone close to your face (😚) might.
  • They work best when sitting correctly on your face. If they sit too far down your nose, it could cause eye strain.

This is more general vision tips, but:

  • Take breaks from staring at things close to you and "reset" your vision by looking at something across the room or outside for a little bit of time.
  • Don't rub your eyes.
  • If your vision changes, don't wait to go to the eye doctor and get your prescription updated. This also has the added bonus of giving you an emergency backup pair of glasses that are better than nothing if your new main pair breaks.
u/tepidviolet · 1 pointr/bikecommuting

A few things:

To start with, can we talk about ways to reduce the amount of grime getting on you? Because this is not inevitable. I have a pretty long commute, and I relube aggressively with a very persistent wet lube (Rock and Roll Extreme, which is probably the highest endurance high-performance wet lube), and it never gets on my pants or legs. What's actually happening to get you dirty?

That said, here's my recommended solution:

To start with, I'd keep a pack of baby wipes at your office. I recommend Bloom Baby Wipes. They come highly recommended, they're big, they're textured (which means they're way better at lifting up dirt), and they're really good for sensitive skin. They're also not expensive, so you can use a bunch if you need to. Good for wiping yourself down after a ride to get rid of sweat. As with any baby wipe, they'll dry out if you let them, so make sure to keep the whole container in a closed tub or big ziploc bag and stick it in a drawer out of the sun.

If you really want an emergency degreaser, there's a hack you can use. Use an alcohol-based lens cleaner. Here's a good one. It comes with a small sprayer and a big refill bottle. This probably seems like some no name bullshit brand, but it's actually a reputable company. Like Zeiss (a highly reputable lens company) used to sell this same cleaner, from this manufacturer, rebranded as one of their products. I carry the small spray bottle and use it for my computer screen and glasses, but if I really need to degrease myself, this will do it.

Note that most such alcohol-based cleaners are not good for your skin. Beyond just drying you out, they're sensitizers and can trigger skin conditions (this usually requires high concentrations and constant use). So use it to break up any grease your wipe can't handle, then wipe it all clean with a wipe, and maybe moisturize after that. This is a last resort hack, not something you should be doing all the time. I only bring it up because those spray bottles are tiny and will fit in your purse.

Speaking of something you can fit in your purse, you can buy standalone wipes which come in sealed packets, but they're kinda expensive. I keep a supply of Goodwipes as a backup. They sell them in both a big size for whole body wipes and a smaller size. There's also a pull pack, which I sorta don't recommend. It's way cheaper, but even though it's smaller than a pack of normal baby wipes, it's kinda too big for stuffing into a handbag. There's probably a brand out there that's better for cleaning, but I use these because my skin is extremely sensitive (like frequent contact allergy sensitive), and it's fairly gentle. Also not many brands come in individually sealed packets. If you want a cheaper hack, you can just stuff a few folded baby wipes in a good quality ziploc, squeeze the air out of it, seal it tightly, and stuff that in your purse. They should stay wet for a good while, and since they only cost a few cents each, it's no loss if they only last a few days.

Oh. Something related to your query but not quite what you're asking for. Buy a pack of disposable, heavy duty nitrile work gloves. Like actual work gloves, not the medical ones from the drug store. These are super good. Carry a pair to keep your hands clean if you need to handle your drive train during field repairs. When you're done, pull the gloves off from the base, and they'll turn inside out naturally, trapping the grime inside out. Pack the gloves out and toss them at work. The skin on my hands is soft enough that I basically can't torque anything by hand because it just slips, but these are textured and grippy, so these are also really good for me for wrenching at home too. They're also professional-grade, so they're really thick (why you want these instead of medical gloves), and they have a lot of cut resistance for disposable gloves.

Sorry one more thing, I carry around a bunch of glasses cleaners too (just the wipes). I throw them everywhere. Cleaning your glasses whenever you get the chance HELPS tremendously as well.

I haven't personally tried this, but I know people who have and have enjoyed it, but consider looking into NerdWax! It seems it could help your glasses w/o nose pieces problem.

I also feel that asian flat nose problem, haha. Good luck OP :)

I got this like four years ago. It's great because it fits perfectly in one of the pouches of my murse (man purse). I'm *pretty* sure that's the one I have I've had it for a pretty long time. But I carry it with me pretty much everywhere now. I'm disabled, can't drive, and have a few things I have to take with me everywhere...

But all I really have that glasses cleaning kit thing for these days is the carrying pouch. The bottle is easily refillable and I got a 13 pack of microfiber clothes on Amazon... :P

u/NoGod4MeInNYC · 3 pointsr/Vive

Well first off build yourself a top of the line pc with the new i7-7700k and GTX 1080 (or if money really isn't an issue get a GTX Titan XP and upgrade it to the 1080 Ti when it comes out lol).

Then make sure you have enough room. I only have 1.7 x 2.2m and it works great, but you can get up to 3x3m and over if you have the space.

The cord isn't too bad in most games, you will learn to just step over it. Certain games like Holopoint and Racket NX will have you spinning and getting tangled, but you can download a program called Advanced OpenVR Settings that will tell you how many spins you made in a certain direction so you can spin the other way ingame.

You will have a lot of add-ons to buy in a few months - Wireless (TPCast) , Hi5 Gloves , deluxe audio strap for added comfort , VR15 Rifle Accessory

And I 100% suggest that you buy a few of these sleep masks, cut out the middle, and use them as faceplate cushions instead of the default one, they are way more comfortable.

And get a box of these to wipe your lenses :P

u/lance713 · 2 pointsr/Ford

Other options include the appearance package, MyFord Touch (is possible to get real nav on this even though it didn't get the $800 nav package?) and the backup camera.

I loved the color the moment I saw it. Sometimes I feel its a little on the girly side, but I don't care. The color is absolutely gorgeous. and the red stitching on the interior really brings it out.

Two complaints though.

  1. I seem to get WAY LESS gas mileage on my 2012 Focus sedan that I traded in. On the Focus I would average 32 city/highway but on this Fusion I'm getting 16. I really hope it just needs to be broken in. I knew I was going to get less MPG but this is more than I expected.

  2. The touch screen is constantly getting finger printed. Is it save to use these Carl Zeiss wipes on it? It came with a microfiber cloth but it doesn't do anything. If I spray some lens cleaner solution from eye glasses shops it works but I don't know if it's safe for the screen.
u/shitinmycoatpocket · 2 pointsr/lifehacks

As someone who used to work in optics the best thing to do is to go to your opticians and ask for them to be adjusted, this will stop them slipping.

If you put them on your head when you are not using them then don't! this spreads the sides apart meaning that they wont fit snug to your head and will slip.

Another thing try and make sure you take them off with two hands and pull forward, when taking off with one hand it tends to again bend one side out.

Also you can get these, they work very well:

This is the link to the one I got costs a lot less. Simichrome 390050 All Metal Polish Tube - 1.76 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002YUQ4E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_W.vKAbHYWEWSK

And here's the exact lens cleaner spray. Set of 2 Carl Zeiss Lens Cleaning Spray 2oz - 60ml Travel Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JFD6KAW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_8bwKAbYQA3VMW

A couple things that I've read here that I want to clear up. The fresnal ridges are not on the side of the lens that you look through, they are on the other side so you're not sanding that down you're sanding down a side that is supposed to be smooth. If the scratches on your lens are not visible in the hmd then obviously you don't *need to do anything, unless you're like me and just can't stand scratches.

Proceed with caution but a pro tip - it doesn't matter. You'll be happier after the scratches are gone. Also get yourself a small thumb sized led flashlight. You can hold it in near the lenses to better see the scratches. Enjoy the clarity...

u/MBoffin · 3 pointsr/oculus

I use lens cleaning wipes from Zeiss. /u/cybereality confirmed that at Oculus they also have lens wipes on hand for cleaning their Rifts. The ones I have have alcohol in them and /u/cybereality confirmed that theirs also have alcohol. (Source)

I use these:

http://www.amazon.com/Zeiss-Pre-Moistened-Lens-Cleaning-Wipes/dp/B0030HG054

These wipes basically work like magic and give me pristine, crystal clear, perfectly clean lenses afterward.

DO NOT USE THESE WIPES ON A DK2!!! IT WILL RUIN THE DK2 LENSES!!!

Quite a while ago I couldn't run in contacts anymore due to an issue with my eyes so I purchased these:

u/Kep0a · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I feel you. I'm surprised there aren't more options for some sort of clip on nose pads for classes without them. I don't wear glasses but these or these might help if you end up getting a pair without pads?

also some of the pairs they have do have the pads

the raybans you linked look good though, very popular look now

I stopped wearing my glasses, they are plaatic frames as well. They went past my ears and at the sightest lowering of my head they would slide to the end of my nose. Bought these(7$) and also some nose grips(on amazon 10$), glasses fit great, makes me want to wear them again. Hope this helps.

u/cata_tonic · 1 pointr/AndroidQuestions

I like the microfiber cloths that aren't fluffy. I use them to clean my glasses as well as my phone and tablets, so I'm picky about ones that don't leave streaks. Costco sells a kit for glasses that comes with two generously sized cloths. This kit comes with eyeglasses cleaner, but it has a nice big cloth, and this is a big cloth in a nice little protective pouch. I have all of these, and they have held up over several years. The last one actually comes in a few different sizes.

u/PaintDrinkingPete · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I like to keep a box of these on hand at all times...

They work great and safely clean everything from the screen to camera to fingerprint sensor with no risk of scratches or offensive chemicals that could strip any coating.

They're fairly cheap and easy to carry in your bag/pocket/etc if you need to take a few with you.

u/hypersonicG · 3 pointsr/Vive

This product below was recommended by someone from Valve at launch, and I've been using them ever since on both my Vive and sunglasses. I thought I wouldn't like the separate packaging per swab, but it's a perfect amount of moisture every time and works flawlessly. I will be reordering when I run out (still have over 50% left, 13+ months later), and highly recommend them:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030E4UIQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

u/JERMgaming · 1 pointr/PS4Pro

Are you me? Ha ha. My pibble slings drool everywhere.

/u/peanuttown Is on the right track with his recommendations, but I'll throw out an alternate. I use Zeiss lens wipes to clean my camera lenses after weddings, and PC/phone screens. They're microfiber soft and I have numerous wedding photographer friends who've used them for years. In the 3 years I've used them I've never had a scratch, and I don't think they'll scratch any consumer products, but obviously you should do whatever makes the most sense for you.

u/KDLGates · 4 pointsr/ValveIndex

When I clean my Vive lenses I usually use glasses cleaner soaked into a spot on a microfiber cloth (which I assume to be some kind of special soapy solution, but really have no idea), which I then do gentle circular wipes with (after making sure there's no obvious hard particles sitting on the lens). Specifically, I use Koala Kleaner, but that's just because I got a big bottle of it with some microfiber wipes.

Is there a reason this is a bad idea vs. dry wipes, or is dry just safer than using a solution that "might" be alcohol-based or ammonia-based, etc.?

u/The_Techie_Chef · 1 pointr/techsupport

I've been using thses for years. I find them by the optical dept. at walmart, but i'm sure you can find them in other stores if you don't want to order online. they work great and they're convenient to use.

u/smackythefrog · 2 pointsr/3DS

Alcohol can be corrosive but it seems others use it with no issues. I bought some Zeiss lens cleaner spray for the screens I own like my phone, 3DS, iPad, laptop, etc. It's worked well.

Edit: Sorry, didn't link originally. It is alcohol free.

A quick google search turns up this test of lens cleaners.

Looks like this is a good choice:

> To eight ounces of distilled or filtered water, add 1 teaspoon of Ultra Dawn Dishwashing Liquid Pure Essentials, colorless, no antibacterial, no perfume, 1 ¼ oz of 70% isopropyl “rubbing alcohol”, the one with 30% distilled water (and nothing else).

And if you prefer store-bought:

> Zeiss Lens Cleaning Solution, Nikon Lens Cleaning solution and ROR Lens Cleaning Solution

Personally I use the Zeiss Pre-Moistened Lens Cleaning Wipes.

Hope this helps.

I used these on most of my stuff for awhile and they work great, much better then the cheaper Walmart ones that scratched my glasses.

Just bought some of these which are Nikon branded, but look very similar to the Zeiss ones:

Kinda ironic as I'll be using them on my Zeiss glasses lenses as well lol.

u/cyanicenine · 0 pointsr/snowboarding

Defogging product is your best bet. The EG2's have huge vents (annoyingly large enough that snow and water fall through the top easily) so venting is not the issue.

I use Cat Crap myself, you just spread it on with your fingers and wipe smooth with a cloth. If you're worried about scratches though you could try this it works alright, not as good as cat crap. The only annoying thing is you have to apply it before hand as it needs several hours to dry afterwards.

u/GrimChicken · 1 pointr/GalaxyWatch

I've run in the original band four or five times now. It holds up just fine, doesn't slip. I don't realize how sweaty the watch gets until I take it off. I just rinse it with water, dry it off then use these lens cleaning wipes I have for my glasses to clean the band and watch sensor after it's dry.

The wipes I have

u/incognitodannydevito · 1 pointr/photoclass2017

Isopropyl alcohol wipes are probably the best thing to use however most of the times when I'm out shooting and the front element gets water, snow, etc. on it I just give it a quick wipe with my shirt.
Nikon sells wipes specifically for this but I'm sure you could find them somewhere cheaper.

u/Flo_rian2340 · 1 pointr/oculus

I used the wipes MBoffin suggested. I had some lying around, I do camera work. I didn't think about it because they were moistened but it worked great.

PS. Any oil or dust will cause problems, ever a finger print.

u/daveyouremywifenow · 3 pointsr/Vive

I use a combination of the lens duster to get any potential bits of grit off the lens' before cleaning, then the zeiss cleaning wipes and am scratch free for over a year!

Edit: A soft cloth is fine too, just make sure to be very gentle and always use a blower first though, if there is anything nasty stuck to the lens, you'll just grind them into the lens and give them small surface scratches over time.

u/DalekLIVE · 1 pointr/Vive

From home idk. Are you in the US by chance? I'll grab an Amazon link from the US

I use these:

Don't use on a PSVR if you have one though. Their lenses has a coating that gets wiped away with these.

Does anyone in your family wear glasses or a camera? I would recommend using that cleaning material/tools

I've got terrible vision as well and can't do much of anything outside of sleeping without my glasses. I throw a few lens wipes into my saddle bag for those times when my glasses get all sweaty and salt-encrusted. They're essentially just a cloth with alcohol but they cut through grease and whatever else you've got on your glasses quite well. I'd recommend them.

It works wonders. And given that it's intended for high quality glasses, it manages to clean oil, smudges and all without leaving scratches.

u/deco95 · 12 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Do you clean your glasses everyday? I used to have this problem all the time until I started using lens wipes daily. I'm assuming you're in the UK so this might be something to try, I use ones from Costco but idk if you guys have that there. You might be able to find smaller/cheaper packs at Boots or whatever drugstore too. Make sure you wipe down the nose pads, lens, and basically every part of your glasses, and do it every day before you put them on in the morning as well as after any heavy activities where you sweat a lot. You can also use plain alcohol wipes which might be stronger at disinfecting but that might damage your glasses over time if you do it everyday, I use alcohol swabs maybe once every 2 weeks and the lens wipes every day.

Dust gets on the sensor, no matter how careful you are. It won't be 'years' later.

It's not something to be super apprehensive about. It requires a bit of care, but don't be nervous. It's easy.

By a rocket blower... a good one. Use the Mirror-Lock-Up functionality of your camera to expose the sensor, and blow the dust off when necessary.

Eventually you'll have to.

It's way too easy to be hiring a camera store to do it. I'd be more worried about letting someone else do it than working on it myself.

I've been where you are, years ago... I was scared I'd mess something up, but here many years later, removing dust particles from the sensor, is old hack. I've never once had an issue.

I'm not sure which glasses store... the one in the mall here. I bet any glasses store would carry them.

Here... this would do it...

That's for any ammonia-based or high-percentage isopropyl alcohol-based solutions, the single-use lens cleaner wipes are fine.

edit: this is an example of what I am talking about (amazon.com)

I use these. Pretty much for cleaning everything from eye glasses to my blade https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030HG054/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  • I'm Number One! - 13.38 is the closest I can get - It's in my wishlist anything else

  • Two ain't so bad - The book Misty of Chincoteague and the movie Misty total to $13.38... Which is AGAIN the closest I can get. Sigh. The book is in my wishlist Books - Animal and the movie is in my wishlist Movies - Animals

  • Three's a crowd - Third time's a charm! 5.39 + 3.99 + 3.99 = 13.37 - The book is in Books - Children's and the two toys are in For the Dogs

Hello fellow 4-eyes struggler :)! I prefer glasses because I have pretty dry eyes and wearing contacts irritates the heck out of me in a pool hall filled with smoke.

I did some research and stumbled upon this product called 'Nerd Wax' on Amazon and it looks promising. It looks like chapstick but it's a wax that you apply on the nose pad of your glasses to keep it in place.

I just recently ordered it and it should be arriving today or tomorrow - which means I do not have first-hand experience with it (yet), but reviews are decent. A tip to clean off all the dirt and oil off the nose pad before applying. The only downside is the little guy is around $10 bucks.

If you get these https://www.amazon.com/GMS-Optical-Comfortable-Silicone-Anti-slip/dp/B00DUWLI8S they will help prevent your glasses from slipping down your face and are hidden behind your ears so they aren't even noticeable

u/bushlaibi · 2 pointsr/Vive

I use Zeiss wipes as they are much safer and made for cleaning eyeglasses

Get these my glasses never stay on my face and these saved my life while working in construction. Highly reccomend.

u/jphoenix · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

my glasses are assholes. (obviously not literally because that would be gross)

Thank you for the contest! Your pewbz are sparkly.

u/fchild · 1 pointr/Vive

Yes, this gets overlooked. I use these in the beginning of each session.

I use the ones made by Zeiss. They contain alcohol which should clean and sanitize. I get mine at Walmart, $5 for 100.

u/Ramacher · 1 pointr/nexus5x

My preferred method is these Carl Zeiss lens cleaning wipes just enough alcohol in them and non abrasive. I use them to clean the entire phone. Start with the screen, then camera lens, then the rest of it.

u/elkeha · 3 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

I've tried a lot of techniques for keeping my regular glasses from sliding down. (They're just a bad fit, no matter how many times I've gotten them readjusted at the store, and I have an oily nose which helps nothing.) Adhesive nosepads have worked the best for me - something like this. I don't love them because you can see a little sliver of nosepad if you look closely while I'm wearing them, and I need to replace them every 2-4 weeks, but they're the only thing that has made my glasses tolerable until I can get a new pair.

u/whiteywilliby · -1 pointsr/SonyAlpha

First, get a blower and use it on your sensor and both ends of your lens from time to time. I also use Zeiss wipes on my lenses as necessary. I have cleaned my sensor several times, but that's something you should do very carefully with a sensor swab or possibly send to Sony (that's their recommendation). Hot breath and a cotton swab will work, but I can feel a Sony technician slapping me for saying it.

u/stp303 · 0 pointsr/MouseReview

Use actual grip tape not the lizzard stuff and because your hands gets oily also so it will not slide around in your palm with the tape. That is why athletes use it

Also could buy a box of something like this https://www.amazon.com/Care-Touch-Moistened-Cleansing-Eyeglasses/dp/B01NCOUY05/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=glasses+cleaner&qid=1565512837&s=gateway&sprefix=glass&sr=8-4 the alcohol in it makes it dry fast without residue leftover and would take off the oil/sweat right away

u/Niflhiem · 2 pointsr/IWantToLearn

I use Zeiss brand stuff, both spray and those wipes. I've never had an issue. There's others like it (my bro finds a canister of some local brand that also de-statics.)

This is not a paid post, and I don't get any funding for clicks or purchases.

u/Tioras · 1 pointr/skiing

I use these OTG goggles and they work fine, other than the occasional fogging issue (on my glasses, not the goggles). For the fogging, I use Cat Crap on the glasses. This clears up any issue.

u/vulkman · 1 pointr/PSVR

I use pre-moistened lens cleaning wipes and then finish up with the microfiber cloth that came with it, works quite well

u/decentwriter · 1 pointr/Assistance

The solution already exists and was on shark tank: https://www.amazon.com/Nerdwax-Stop-Slipping-Glasses-Shark/dp/B00O0CK2UM

u/SickSalamander · 0 pointsr/photography

I use a combination of stuff.

Rocket blowers are great for loose dust, but they don't get everything.

Dry microfiber cloths get slightly more stubborn dirt off.

Lens pens are fantastic for cleaning tougher stuff too.

If there are oils that other methods are not getting off, do a wet cleaning. Either lens cleaning fluid + microfiber or a pre-moistened lens wipe.

u/kintaeb · 1 pointr/buildapc

Just as a quick question related to this: I'm changing cases, which requires changing motherboards. When I clean the CPU off can I use "Moistened Lens Cleaning Wipes"? I only ask because I have several of them lying around (they are Zeiss brand) and I'd rather not spend money on isopropyl alcohol if I don't have any around since I won't be using it for much else.

EDIT: To give a better idea, it's this product.

u/Richleeson · 1 pointr/Vive

Ive been using these
Seem to work well

u/leppermessiah1 · 1 pointr/Vive

Not that it does you much good now, but I use these: https://www.amazon.com/Zeiss-Pre-Moistened-Lens-Cleaning-Wipes/dp/B0030HG054

Plus the microfiber.

u/doctorlongghost · 1 pointr/PSVR

I can Confirm these wipes left no noticeable issues after I used them four times. However since then I've decided to limit my use of them to only when absolutely needed. I'm hoping to only use them once a year or so.

Never, ever, ever wipe your lenses with a DRY microfiber cloth.

Many of us Vivers use disposable, pre-moistened, individually packaged lens cleaner wipes.

I personally can vouch for these.

u/bilged · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

Check out theCarl Zeiss glasses cleaning wipes on amazon. Very handy and you don't have to worry about scratches.

u/utf8decodeerror · 2 pointsr/oculus

I use the microfiber cloth regularly to clean my lenses. Occasionally I use https://www.amazon.com/Zeiss-Pre-Moistened-Cleaning-5-Inches-400-Count/dp/B0030HG054 to wipe off any oils that get on the lenses. No issues in ~7 months of use.

Here's what I use:

  • Spanner
  • Friction wrenches
  • JIS screwdriver set
  • Lens Wipes

For the lenses, the friction wrenches are used to easily remove the front ring off the lens (the ring with the wording on the front). Then for the interior rings you'll need the spanner tool; you'll see two notches directly opposite each other on the front retaining ring, so you'll use the spanner to remove that ring using the notches. Depending on the lens, there may also be some screws to remove before you can pull the front element out. If you need to remove the rear element, you can do that by going in through the back instead.

Either way you go, have a large workspace so you can place the parts on your table in the order and orientation that they need to go back in. If you need to clean the aperture blades because they're sticking, do so very carefully and try to avoid removing them. Getting them back together can be difficult; I generally avoid doing it at all costs.

If you're just looking to clean a dirty lens, the wipes I linked to above are excellent for cleaning the glass without messing up the coating. They wipe the fungus and dust off easily and dry clean. They're individually wrapped and they dry quickly once opened, so don't open them until they're needed.

I haven't had to fix an OM meter. The closest I've come is on my Mamiya 1000DTL, which had a meter that was inoperative. The problem in that case was that the wires connecting the battery terminal to the light meter had corroded, so the connection was bad. I snipped off the corroded ends and stripped a little of the insulation to expose the wire ends and verified the meter worked by touching the battery directly to the wires. Now I have to solder the wires back onto the battery terminal, I haven't gotten around to that part yet.

Unfortunately, it's just a bad fit for you. I agree with having custom nosepads made by professionals. A cheaper option is Nerdwax
which may not work as well if you have oily skin or Anti-Slip Grips .

u/greengrasser11 · 0 pointsr/gifs

I use Nerd wax. It's not perfect but good enough for what I need it for.

u/wronglyNeo · 2 pointsr/Cameras

I assume that you just smeared the dirt instead of removing it. Just keep cleaning until everything is gone.

I usually carry these with me in my camera bag:
Zeiss Reinigungstücher für Objektive, 200 Stück. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00IKGH2TI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4cKWAbR8HT5M6

They are ready-to-use cleaning tissues.

Hi I can't read read anything that's not inches from my face; the only part of my arm that isn't blurry is my shoulder lol. You're at a disadvantage at the higher level of sparring because you likely won't be able to catch small details like hip movement, foot angles, etc as fast as others. That being said... I do wear my glasses while I spar but it's def a risk of them breaking, or scratching my face, although I haven't really run into that problem yet. I only do light head shots with them on because due to those potential risks, and partners never have a problem. I don't really compete because well I can't tell someone is kicking me until they're about half way through chamber. I have an irrational fear of putting contacts into my eyes, but those would be a life changer if you can get them. If you can get those special goggles those will likely work out well for you during sparring in class, but they are likely illegal in competition. Once my eyesight plateuas I'll be getting PRK surgery.

For kicks and stuff during drills and doing board breaking I'd recommend getting stuff like [this](

Not sure about those wipes, but i was told to not use (liquid) cleaners – i think that there's maybe a kind of antistatic layer on it that would be damaged (like on crt-monitors)...

>I have seen people say they used Zeiss Pre-Moistened Lens Cleaning Wipes (http://amzn.to/1TDLFEV), but I am terrified of using anything since it looks like the official guidance is not to use any liquids at all.

They are being used for high end camera lenses... you are more than fine, I use them to clean my glasses and my Vive. They just have to write that in there because some idiot in the US will use 1l of that stuff and ruin his rift... they just dont want to get sued.
