AD900X with a mic.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Technica-ATH-PDG1-Premium-Open-Air-Headset/dp/B00OTG9RGE/
Similar to the MSR7

For me the Audio Technica products are some of the most uncomfortable headphones/headsets out there.

I have the ATH-M50x and the ATH-ADG1x.

The ATH-M50x sounds absolutely terrible to me compared to almost all of my other headphones/headsets. The bass drowns out everything else for me. And the pads are so terrible.

Whereas the ATH-ADG1x is one of the best sounding "gaming" headsets I have ever heard. It does everything right except comfort. It's not the headband or anything like that on the Audio Technica products. It is the insanely uncomfortable ear pads on almost everything they make. I guess the ear pads are made for people with smaller ears or something because they are not really over ear headphones/headset they sit on your ear because no-ones ear is a circle. So you have the pad sitting on the top and bottom of your ear and if you can handle that then perfect. I tried to change the ear pads but it ruined the sound. And after about 30 minutes it begins to hurt really bad.

So my recommendation is the ATH-ADG1x, which is essentially a ATH-AD900X with a mic. The sound is fantastic. Very nice bass, perfect sound stage and openness for gaming, but damn do the ear pads ruin it. Also the mic is phenomenal. It also works perfectly with my MixAmp and is actually really great for anything. Movies, music, TV, all sound amazing on these.

Anyway, good luck.

Some alternatives to consider if you value comfort:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-GAME-Acoustic-gaming-headset/dp/B00JQDOALC/
This is very close in terms of sound quality to the ATH-ADG1x but absolutely kills it on the comfort side. This headset is my go to recommendation for anyone that wants supreme comfort, way above average sound quality, and no bullshit.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-Mobile/dp/B00SAYCXWG/
This is extremely comfortable too. It is closed though. But still sounds very very good. And if you like a more "cinematic" sound then these would be the best option. They are slightly bass boosted (but it doesn't drown out anything and sounds so much better compared to the M50x) and everything else like mids and highs are solid as well.

Also, I should mention that all of the headphones/headsets mentioned here will absolutely destroy the A40 in terms of sound quality.

Basically once you hear a better pair of cans you will understand how bad the Astro's sound. It's basically like putting your head in a fishbowl with water in it and listening to speakers on the outside of the fishbowl. Bass that is so strong it drowns out the mids and highs and completely destroys any clarity. The A40's do look cool and feel pretty comfortable and also feel very well built but that is about it.

The black & copper pair don't look as cheap as the black & blue pair but I'm surprised Audeze is branching into the gaming market. I figured they were too far into the boutique market but nothing wrong with expanding the product stack. I see a couple big issues with these though:

  1. The gaming headphone market is already ridiculously crowded.
  2. Every company seems to have this "new & revolutionary 3D surround sound emulation" technology but they all have 2 drivers like the rest. Between Sennheiser's new GSP 600 with "7.1 surround sound" & Steel Series' new Arctis Pro + GameDac that have both released in the past few months Audeze doesn't exactly have a fresh take. This is ignoring the other options from Logitech, Astro Gaming, Turtle Beach, Triton, etc. that all claim to do the same thing. On top of those you have built-in surround sound in Windows 10 with Windows Sonic as well as a Dolby Atmos plugin as standalones that work with any headphone.
  3. Even if they do have outstanding imaging with their 3D emulation they're still closed back so the soundstage could potentially be an issue.
  4. Bluetooth is great for mobile, but it's a hard sell for a desktop environment at least for me. I'd rather be wired, or have a dedicated amp for wireless like Astro A50s.

Head tracking is a meh worthy gimmick too. Monitor manufacturers have been pushing eye tracking the past year or so which is more compelling because I don't move my head drastically enough during a session & certainly not enough to want to see data about it.

And finally, at $400 retail they're more expensive than just about everyone else. I don't see these doing all that well tbh. Cynical take but I feel my reasoning is justified.

I picked up these back in May and have been super satisfied. I was skeptical and didn't want to spend a lot but I took a chance and have been happy since. The mic quality is fantastic. I also wear glasses and don't notice any discomfort after extended play periods, although I do adjust my glasses every now and then naturally. The only thing with these is just to make sure you don't pull them out away from your ears to put them on. I only pull them out and little and try to slide on front/back. I read reviews of the over the head band breaking if you're too rough, but since I'm pretty careful with my things I haven't had any problems. Plenty of volume. Descent outside noise cancellation. Lots of durable cord. I would recommend.

It's all good don't worry! So I've streamed with this headset and it never lets me down! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013GMXA2I/ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o1_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It plugs directly into your USB slot on your PS4 and is great quality. It'll cost you about $80!

Secondly, if you navigate to party chat options, usually when you've created a party you can find it. Go to party settings, allow your voice to be shared, set to allow. And if you want your friends to be included in the broadcast they need to do the same.

That's pretty much it man!

Edit: Oh and as far as actually broadcasting, I think you can just hold down the PS button when playing a game a navigate over to "Broadcast."

For speakers, if space is an issue, you should get the Micca MB42X then, as they're much smaller than the JBL LSR305s. Or you could even just get the Micca MB42. I have the JBL LSR305s and a fairly small desk and they fit. I have a 23-inch monitor and one speaker on each side of the monitor. You may also want to get a DAC for your speakers, like the Schiit Modi 2 / (Amazon link) or a DAC/amp combo, like the Schiit Fulla / (Amazon link) or FiiO E10K (Amazon link) or AudioQuest - DragonFly (Amazon link).

For headphones/headsets, you have many choices. If you are a gamer, you should check out Sennheiser's gaming headsets. If you don't plan on gaming and just want to listen to music, check out the Sennheiser HD series. They can be found much cheaper on Amazon, eBay, or other various retailers. I personally have the Sennheiser PC363D headset for gaming and unfortunately paid about $240 for them, not even 6 months ago. Right after I bought them, the price on Amazon dropped dramatically, to around $130. I just checked on Amazon and now they're back up to around $219, but if you watch them, they will probably drop again like they did before. Or you can check on eBay. Sennheiser does have cheaper models though (all of these are around $150 or less) like the brand new Sennheiser GSP300 / (Amazon link), Sennheiser GSP350 / (Amazon link), or the Sennheiser GAME ONE / (Amazon link). I have tried a few different brands and Sennheiser is my favorite for performance. I also have the Sennheiser HD 598 SE / (Amazon link) for listening to music and the Sennheiser RS120 II wireless headphones (Sennheiser RS 120 (older model) (Amazon link)) for my TV and got them for my parents too. If you live in a place where you can't have your TV or music too loud, the wireless headphones are very helpful. Overall, I use the Sennheiser PC 363D headset the most and it sounds awesome. If you're a gamer, get a gaming headset, or if you just listen to music, the HD series are great too.

u/ILuffhomer · 2 pointsr/GirlGamers

A bit over your price request, but I have the HyperX Cloud headset: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Alpha-Gaming-Headset/dp/B07PDNPRZN

I really love the purple and white (even if the white gets dirty), but the sound is good and they are comfortable for long Classic WoW sessions. They also fit comfortably even when I have glasses on!

  • Budget - ~150€ give or take, but this would be decent headphones and mic combined

  • Source - onboard Sound Card in my PC (Realtek HD Audio)

  • Requirements for Isolation - I will use them only at home, but I would like more isolation from outside noise because it can be quite noisy.

  • Use in public - No

  • Preferred Type - full-sized closed back over-ear

  • Preferred tonal balance - Here I'm not quite sure what I need. I will mostly use the headphones for competitive gaming and voice chat in conjunction, so I won't need incredible amount of bass. I would need some more help here :D

  • Past headphones - My past headphones all were all so-called "gaming headsets", from fatality headsets, over razer to logitech. My current headset I would like to replace is a Logitech G230. They are very comfortable and I would like a similar comfort because I will use the headphones daily and for very long sessions.

  • Preferred Music - Mostly Metal, preferably alternative (Disturbed and such), but music is not the main purpose.

  • Improvements - I would like to enhance my gaming experience and focus on that aspect, so detailed and clear sounds. I would also try out a surround setup to better hear positional cues and a headphone+seperate mic setup to improve the quality of both parts significantly.

  • Location - Germany

I already read through Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide and used the /r/headphones recommendation guide so I got some candidates, but I'm not restricted to them.

  • Creative Aurvana Live!: Very strongly recommendated bei Mad Lust Envy and /r/headphones but I have some concerns about the comfort because I have rather big ears.

  • Ultrasone HFI 15 g: Mad Lust Envy mentioned that they are not the first choice for competitive gaming purposes but at that price range it is hard to pass up.

  • AKG K612 PRO: the most expensive in my list but highly praised everywhere and arguably the best quality in this price range. But I would have to settle with open back and a lower quality mic.

Thank you for your help and as I said the list above is not set and I would appreciate every recommendation of other headphones.
u/mydearwatson616 · 2 pointsr/gamingsuggestions

I have this one and love it.

However it's not USB. I've heard great things about the U320 as well.

If you want great sound quality paired with a great microphone, Sennheiser is awesome. I sound like a shill but I just really love their products and I've had that headset for almost 5 years with no issues. They're definitely on the pricey side but a good gaming headset is worth the investment in my opinion.

u/aswd2471 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

it's kinda sketchy because it's a Korean (i think) el cheapo set, but i have a pair of sades gaming headsets with pretty nice audio quality and the best mic I've ever had on a headset. they were only like $50 on amazon, i'll see if i can find a link when i get home.

EDIT - Found it

u/Joneed · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

This is a premium quality headset that I highly recommend. The closed version (G4ME Zero) costs £199. I know it goes a bit over your budget but that's one very good option if you're looking for a good headset that's going to last.

If you can't afford that, HyperX Cloud II is a pretty good budget option too.

u/spicedpumpkins · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Bought these for my kids Sennheiser GSP 600 Professional Gaming Headset

Overall, pretty good. Comfortable, FAR above average fidelity for a gaming headset, mic is probably one of the best mics I've ever used that is part of a gaming headset. Again, my kids like them.

I personally don't like gaming headsets.

My personal gaming rig does not use "gaming" headsets.

I use regular low end audiophile headphones paired with a mixer + mic.

u/Reverent · 1 pointr/GoodValue

Since we're talking good value, your best bet is a usb based set of headphones (assuming it's for a computer), for three reasons.

  1. No interference from the analogue jack (since there isn't one). I have dealt with dozens of computers that have a high pitched whine or buzz because something in the computer is passing interference to the jack.

  2. Higher wattage available for the bass means these headphones usually have a much better bass, which is something that is usually missing from 3.5mm headphones.

  3. Since the sound card (built into the USB) is specifically designed for the headphones you are purchasing, you can assure that the default settings are close or perfect to the headphones.

You can't go wrong with the sennheiser u320. Sennheiser has a sterling reputation for headphones, and I am using these headphones right now. They're fantastic. They also come with the cables you need if you want to switch to an analogue input (2.5mm or 3.5mm jack).

Well, everything arrived. The UMIK-1 is a nice piece of hardware. To complete my desktop setup I also got:

  • The Pioneer BS-22s
  • One Behringer UCA202 DAC

Now for the best part. I scratched some extra cash this month out of my budget and also ordered (they are yet to arrive):

  • Sennheiser HD650 headphones
  • Monoprice Desktop Headphones Amp / DAC

I'm thinking that the next step would be to move to the O2+ODAC. I'd like to build them myself, so I'll probably order one O2 kit first and later either the ODAC PCB with the DAC already soldered, or the entire soldered ODAC PCB.

Also for the future is upgrading my closed back headphones I use at work, probably to an NVX XPT100 (thanks /u/ZeosPantera for leading me to them). Then I'll move the Monoprice Amp/DAC to the office to drive them and keep the O2+ODAC at home. The current headphones I have at the office sound pretty decent but I can't wear them for more than an hour. So comfort is paramount for my office headphones.

    What do you think?

Can you point me to good resources on how to use REW + the UMIK-1 to measure the speaker responses? I still have the BS-21s (they'll be shipping back to Amazon soon) so I'm planning to measure them too. I didn't remove the grilles from them because I think it will be hard to stick them back on and don't want to return them without them on. So far I've read these articles:

  • UMIK-1 setup with REW
  • Loudspeaker measurement with UMIK-1 and REW

    Will that be enough?
u/itsacrisis · 3 pointsr/GirlGamers

I really like HyperX Cloud II headsets. You'll end up paying bit more than 100 CAD, but I think they are worth it. Plus, there might be a good sale coming up for black friday. You mentioned not ugly, so you might like the hyperxwhite/purple headset. I think you can get the black Cloud II's and the black/red cloud IIs for around 100-120 bucks.

I've had the same headset for quite a while now. They get a ton of use and still work just as good as new. I can't say I've had the same experience with Razer and a few other brands I tried in the past.

u/timerski · 1 pointr/razer

Get Sennheiser U320 - it's connected via USB so your console recognizes it as well as your PC with plug-and-play. The quality of the sound is awesome and the microphone is pretty good too.

I used it with my PS3 a lot and was very happy with it. Now it's my night-time go-to gaming headset.

u/Only_2D · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

^ This. Best way to go is headphone and mic separate combo. Even high-end gaming headsets have mediocre microphone quality.

If you truly need one at that pricepoint, i'd suggest this pair that has pretty superb reviews on amazon for $26

u/Celidion · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget: ~$40

Source: PC

Requirements for Isolation: Noise Cancellation

Preferred Type: Over Ear

Last few things are fairly irrelevant since I'm not picky at all.

So I've started playing video games again and I really need a new mic. I was planning on just buying a gaming headset since there's a good amount of them for around ~$30 but I know it's better to buy headphones + a separate mic. My main issue is, I'm not really that concerned with a great quality. Can I even realistically get a mic + headphones for ~$30-40 that will be significantly better than just a headset with a similar price? Obviously if my budget was higher I could understand that there's a huge difference because most headsets are all marketing, but at this level I'm unsure. I'm currently looking at these two headsets:

https://www.amazon.com/Surround-Computer-Microphone-Isolating-Breathing/dp/B01E8RS598/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1509824131&sr=1-5&keywords=gaming+headset&dpID=51v8NJCSUNL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G430-Headphone-Cable-Sports-Performance/dp/B00CQ35C1Q/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1509824131&sr=1-9&keywords=gaming+headset

I realize they're probably terrible by this sub's standards, but I've literally been using $10 earbuds for over a year for my computer, as I'm not an audiophile by any means.
I looked at the buying guide and there aren't many options for under $50, which is outside of my budget anyway, and that doesn't even cover the cost of the mic as well.

I’ve had the Steel Series Arctis 3 (in black) for about a month now, and I love them. I like that the mic retracts, they’re comfortable, simple to use, and are great for all around listening.

I know a lot of people seem to advise against headset mics, but if you want one anyway. My friend bought this a while back and the quality is pretty darn good for $25. While talking on Discord, his voice is clear with little distortion.

u/thebananabob · 1 pointr/headphones

Curent Setup - cheap mobo, sennheiser game ones with MusicBee audio player. Will build a new pc including a soundcard this or next year.

Just got into FLAC music and whatnot. Would like to step up on the sound quality. Also the Sennheiser Game Ones sometimes vibrate when playing deep bass notes wich is really annoying.

Preferred Headphones - I´d like over ear open back headphones. Only use them when sitting at my PC

Preferred music - Rock/Metal mostly

Preferred tone balance - i like a solid bass but i doesn´t have to be over the top. just looking for something that can do everything adequately.

What i´m currently looking at - Sennheiser 660S with an FiiO E10K

Country - Austria

Good idea? Bad idea? How much of an improvement am i looking at here?

Thanks ahead

u/Roka117 · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget - Up to $250 USD, Preferably less.

Source -Most of the time Home PC or laptop, Occasional Phone use as well.

Requirements for Isolation - Some, to alot, While I am at work, I will need to hear loud alert tones for when i have to go somewhere.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Most likely not. Maybe once.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Over the ear, fullsized I really enjoyed the shape of the headphones I have linked below.

Preferred tonal balance - Mixed, however I have a fondness for bass emphasis.

Past headphones - These. I like them because they made sound... They were durable and I wasn't asking much of them at the time, but now I want serious sound and have the funds to make it possible.

Preferred Music - A large range of music from classical, to modern pop music. I listen to a lot of Organ, Cello and Choral music, but also have a favorite playlist of the top 100 pop songs I listen to. Nothing gets me giddier than hearing the bass tones of an organ or a cello as if I am in the same room as the instrument.

Hi, I currently own the Hyper X Cloud II but have started to hear something vibrating/shaking inside the headset. Consequently, I'm in the market for some new headphones. After following the buyers guide I'm currently interested in the Sennheiser HD 598 Over-Ear Headphones, Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Studio Monitor Professional Headphones or the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro Headphones - 250 Ohm. Nevertheless, what's the difference in sound quality between those headphones and these headsets: Sennheiser GSP 350 Closed Back Gaming Headset, Sennheiser PC 360 Special Edition Gaming Headset, HyperX Cloud Revolver Pro Gaming Stereo Headset.

Budget: No more than £150
Source: Directly into my computer
Isolation: some (block out computer fans)
The headphones will be used exclusively at my desk.
Most of the music I hear will be from games, which varies heavily, so I want something which is okay for everything.
Overall I'm looking for something which is clear/detailed (so I can hear opponents in multiplayer games) while simultaneously sounding good for music/cinematic/single-player.

Thanking you.

EDIT: What's the difference between these: Sennheiser HD 598 Cs Closed Back and Sennheiser HD 558 High End Open Over-Ear

u/Captain_Sandwich · 2 pointsr/MLPLounge

These ones. I really needed wireless headphones, and while these were the best, they were the best I could afford. Fingers crossed I get good use out of them.

u/jessaroolaroo · 11 pointsr/GirlGamers

This is the chair I currently use. The color is true to the image ('Power Ranger Pink', if you will, also has other color options). It was easy to put together although some reviews on the product state otherwise. The seat cushion is uncomfortable after a while, so I ended up buying a separate seat cushion since I work and game from that chair. But for kids who have no sense of what is comfortable (I used to watch TV upside down on the couch, what is neck pain?) It might be a good option!

Also, this isn't a chair, but I would have loved to have these headphones and ears as a kid.

u/CollectorAndrew · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

The Arctis 3 Bluetooth headset will do exactly that. Bluetooth for Smartphone/PC, wired for the Switch. Or when that Genki adapter releases you could do Bluetooth on the Switch and wired on your Smartphone/PC. There are still some flaws with Bluetooth, especially with Windows 10, but it's serviceable and, honestly, the most convenient solution at the moment, in my opinion; especially at the price and the amount of comfort. Here's a link if you want to check them out.

I just bought the Corsair VOID USB headset with 7.1 surround sound and I am not sure if I have my settings correct.
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-VOID-Headset-CA-9011130-NA/dp/B013GMXA2I

Do I need to calibrate something on Windows 10 to get the surround sound settings correct? So far I've downloaded the Corsair Utility Engine and enabled surround sound, but I am not getting very good quality sound. I am trying to play Fallout 4 and Battlefield 4 and it seems like I enabled surround sound in the game's settings, but it feels like it is lacking some sound quality. Help please?

u/jonmaddox · -2 pointsr/htpc

Just pick up one of these - http://www.amazon.com/Force-Channel-Dolby-Surround-Processor-Mac/dp/B003O0KICS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1407870430&sr=8-2&keywords=dolby+headphone+amp

And a set of these - http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Gaming-Headset-Amplified-Xbox-360/dp/B00E5UHSX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407870461&sr=8-1&keywords=earforce

I moved to just using headphones last fall and this setup is freaking AMAZING. I use it for movies and gaming. Beats the pants off of any speaker set up you could have, and doesn't bother anyone.

The Ear Force DSS 7.1 processor uses Dolby Headphone technology to map 5.1 discrete channels to headphones and it's ridiculously effective. You won't believe it.

And it doesn't feel like you have the sound right on top of you. You'll take your headphones off to make sure your speakers aren't blaring.

Just be sure you get the OLD version of the processor, the new one isn't nearly as good and dropped the Dolby Headphone tech in lieu of whatever else they replaced it with. The good news is, you can pick them up used for CHEAP.

u/andrewthemexican · 1 pointr/starcitizen

Corsair for headsets too. I got the first gen version of this for probably 50 or 60$, and 2-3 years later still look brand new. Only issue is the cable loves twisting on itself, but otherwise fantastic condition.

Doesn't hurt after long sessions, and the pleather cushion on top hasn't begun to peel. My old Plantronics set peeled away after a year or so.

u/Smehi · 1 pointr/headphones

Hello people, so, my friend recommended me to upgrade to a headphone with standalone mic. I already ordered the mic but now I’m looking for some headphones to go with it. I will use them mainly for gaming but also listening to music and watching some shows. I kind of panic ordered the HyperX Cloud II because I bought the mic but hadn’t chosen the headphones yet so I quickly bought these (I will refund it if you guys recommend something else). After researching some more I got to the Sennheiser HD 598SR or Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X.

Budget - ~€120, I kept increasing my budget because found out my budget didn’t have good quality headphones.

Source - Right into my desktop.

Requirements for Isolation - Is not something I'm worried about.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - No, only on my desktop.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Over-ear.

Past headphones - Currently I’m using a Logitech G230(Got it for half the price as on the amazon link though). The thing I like about the G230 is that is it over-ear so that is what I’m going for again.

Preferred Music - 80% of my library consists of stuff you find on Monstercat. The other 20% is stuff like this: [1] - [2] - [3] - [4] -

Location - Location is in The Netherlands, so I can still buy from amazon.de if it's not available here.

So right now, my questions are:

  1. Should I refund the Cloud II and get one of the two above?

  2. In case 1., which should I take or is there something else that is better for my needs around or lower than my budget?

  3. Or should I just forget about it and use my current headset and just disable the mic?

    Thank you!
u/PonderousWanker · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I recommend the Logitech G230 headset, its 7.1 surround and the mic is absolutely stellar compared to my Turtle Beach X12 headset. The mic on it was absolute dog shit, my mates kept hearing echoing in teamspeak. Could have been a faulty headset but i'm well pleased with the upgrade and it's in your price range. It matches my black and red setup like a dream.

Reason for using a HMD is because you cant see the monitor properly when you lie completely flat, but it can also help with photosensitivity

you should probably figure out whether you have CFS or not and apply for government support

This is a better deal than what I went with. I got Amazon's CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A/Rift bundle So I could jump right in since I didn't have the money to build last year,Total cost was $1408. I'm pleased with it since I've had 0 problems and setup was smooth. Plugged everything in and was good to go, performance is good as well. Still planning to build one this year though.

My wife just bought me a turtle beach headset. I wasn't for the headset idea at first, but the noise cancellation is very nice.

The pair she got me were 150, but were on sale at BestBuy. They are on Amazon for 109 right now. I highly recommend them.

Would you recommend these? Because I've been looking for a new headset after using my current one, (Turtle Beach X12's) for about 5 or 6 years now. I was really wanting to get this Steel Series Headset. I'm almost purely a PC gamer, and only use my console for singleplayer games now. Any suggestions? I really would like one that has the same durability that this turtle beach X12 headset has that I use currently, while being a little bit more comfortable.

A new headset, this Razer Kraken pro V2 to be specific. I've had my headset for a few years and I love it - HyperX in pink and white - but the sound is starting to need fiddling on the right side now, and they discontinued it so I can't even replace it =( It's sad because finding a GOOD headset that is pink (or any girly colors) is hard. This one is so perfect but I'm not gonna drop 80 bucks on a headset right now. But I don't ask for gifts, I never have and never will, so this is my secret. Hope everyone gets what they wish for! <3

u/Kuehmo · 2 pointsr/headphones

I'm thinking of investing into a new gaming headset and I would like to try out a wireless one. I've read through the guide on gaming headphones but its mainly dealing with wired sets. Atm, I'm considering between two options:

  1. Corsair Vengeance 2100

  2. Logitech g930

Any recommendations on which one is better? I'm also open to any other options, if there are better ones I've missed.

    Budget - Around £100 (USD $75-200?)

    Source - PC/Laptop; Asus G56JR

Requirements for Isolation - No preference

Preferred Type of Headphone - Fullsized

    Location - UK

EDIT: Changed my two options, found two better ones. Changed from Tritton Kunai Wireless & PDP Afterglow Prismatic to Logitech g930 and Corsair Vengeance 2100.

What ever you go with, I'd recommend a USB headset. That way, if you want, you can have the game audio come through your PC speakers and the voice chat come through the headset. That's my personal preference, anyways.

u/Remo_253 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This In-Win case has pink highlights, then you could add pink lighting. Here's a review of it.

Then go all in with these:

Razor Pink Mouse

The Enermax case linked elsewhere was a nice case but it's at least 5-7 years old, there are reviews from 2012. That's why it has all those 5.25 in bays.

Painting the case can be done and done to look as good as a professional job. It is not easy or quick though. Here's a nice overview: Case Painting

u/Forbesisablogside · 3 pointsr/PSVR

I ended up buying this one a couple days ago for my PS4:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N803EMU

It sounds amazing, but needs drivers for 7.1 so you can only get the 7.1 sound on the PC for now. Though during the dev talk here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZVVs5O8NC0

The guy said that the 3D audio "Works on everything" I'm not sure if he meant on every game or on every headset since you can't really hear the question.

I've already had a Corsair Vengeance gaming headset for about two years now on my PC and they sound incredible, and they're sturdy and they do a really good job of isolating sound, plus the wired ones can usually be found around $70 on one sale or another.

If anyone is interested in getting this one but they aren't sure if it'll work with the VR, just reply to me after PSVR launches so that I can get reminded and I'll reply with how it works for me, since I'm going to pre-order the PSVR.

If you don't mind a cord and want a very affordable headset that sounds great, these are legit. Not even kidding. I didn't believe it when a friend told me about them, but for the money I figured I'd try. He was right, as was the friend that told him about them.

u/BangsNaughtyBits · 1 pointr/podcasting

I have heard third hand that this MSI headset has a solid mic for a gaming headset.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0178Q8WU8/

/u/DanielJLewis has recently reported the Griffin has the iMic on sale and it's a very good candidate if you have to connect 3.5 mm headphone and mic plugs via USB.

https://www.reddit.com/r/podcasting/comments/7dnox7/holiday_deals_specials_and_values_for_the/dqf7giy/

Personally, I would look at an Audio-Technica ATR2100 or the Samson Q2U which is on sale for $45 at Amazon right now. These are real mics and give you a path to grow. And you can plug in headphones or earbuds into the mic for the VOIP.

Corsair H1500 sounds like what you're looking for, as far as value to money scale goes.

There are better headsets for more money, and there are better headsets without mics for the same, but the all-around balance for something under $70 that will do the job is most likely this one.

I love this headset. I am a tallish guy with a slightly larger head, and it fits awesome with this unique ski Google band thing.

Very comfortable too. I previously had the PS4 Gold headset, and though comfortable for a bit, after hours of use it would pain my ears. Not this headset, never have had any pain or anything with it.

I've been eyeballing these for a while now, anyone have any experience with them?

Its your call, they're the same price as far as I can tell, at least at standard retail atm
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013GMXA2I/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1481412771&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=corsair+void&dpPl=1&dpID=41nY0kY5v-L&ref=plSrch

As for keyboards, I'd say mull it over but do keep in mind the time remaining for the sale its on

I've had these for a while now, and couldn't recommend them enough.

I've been using this since it came out. Easy to unplug from your PC and into your controller and vice versa. I know some people have had bad experiences with TurtleBeach but I've been using their headsets for almost 10 years never had any major problems. Its wired, which I personally prefer, but I know some people like Wireless.

If you read here, you'll see that the Turtle Beach Atlas headset features it and it is "designed for the Xbox One". Here is the link to the headest on Amazon if you're too lazy to search for it

Also: I would recommend the Logitech G230, it's out of your price range, but it's a solid headset. The worst thing you can do is buy a cheap headset, they break easily and will cost you more in the long run.

Any open ear headphones will do the trick. As for my personal recommendation I have to go with The Sennheiser Game One.
I picked them up a year ago or so and haven't looked back. Excellent audio quality with an open ear design so you can still hear what's going on around you in the real world.

u/aether_tech · 1 pointr/HeadphoneAdvice

Gaming headphones typically won't have a true-ish sound. They are more often then not, tweaked towards a higher treble response for the all-consuming trend of "gotta hear them footsteps!"

If you're looking for a headset (headphone + intergrated mic) you can't get much better than the Sennheiser Game One (open-backed) https://www.amazon.com.au/Sennheiser-FBA_506080-G4ME-ONE-Black/dp/B00JQDOALC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536556094&sr=8-1&keywords=Sennheiser+Game+one

and for closed-back, the GSP300 https://www.amazon.com.au/Sennheiser-GSP-Gaming-Headset-Black/dp/B074T75ZYP/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1536556145&sr=1-2&keywords=gsp+300

There's also the HyperX Cloud II (because its accessories bundle includes some comfy velour earpads) https://www.amazon.com.au/HyperX-KHX-HSCP-GM-Headset-Virtual-Surround/dp/B00SAYCVTQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1536556204&sr=1-2&keywords=HyperX+Cloud+II

---------------------

Now, since you said "with a mic" my assumption is you meant actual a headset, not headphones + separate mic, but if not, please correct me and I'll list some headphone + mic options.

Also, on Amazon UK, there are two versions of the G930 shown.
It says that this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003U55WWS/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i3?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0GPWR51BV2Y0JJT3HTAH&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=455344027&pf_rd_i=468294
is the old version.

And that this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-G930-Wireless-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00CJ5FPS6/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
is the new version.
Is this just Amazon being stupid or is this true? There is a £10 difference in the price.

I want to say something here that I probably should have mentioned in the OP - I'm moving up to these cans straight from a set of Corsair H1500 gaming headphones. Those things, had a lot of bass. And a serious lack of mids and highs. Everything that I listen to now is almost painfully high because of this... and I know that it's simply because I'm not used to hearing defined highs. It's going to take a bit of time for me to get used to it :P I actually am currently settling down on a more neutral EQ now after reading some other comments elsewhere. It's a lot more crisp.

u/ocktavian66 · 1 pointr/RedditDads

i think more do but not sure. You will need an adaptor (25$) for these to work, there may be newer model that doesnt require this. I have mine hooked to my XBONE and PC - So i get chat for game but can still watch tv. Downside is low to no game sounds... Thinking i can get a splitter. If your just using for XBOX/ONE - http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Gaming-Headset-Amplified-Xbox-360/dp/B00E5UHSX8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1412948552&sr=8-8&keywords=turtle+beach+xbox+one With the adaptor http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00IAVDOS6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1412948552&sr=8-3&keywords=turtle+beach+xbox+one
