Oh man I know some about this one - cat enrichment is a passion of mine, as well as cat training through positive reinforcement!! Cats DO NOT learn from or respond well to negative reinforcement (actually a misnomer, but basically 'punishment' or deterrents), and this might increase his anxiety. Definitely begin this process before baby gets here, as others have said! For you guys, enrichment will be the name of the game. Buckle up, and apologies for the long post....

Give him as many things to do at night as you can - puzzle feeders, try feeding him right before going 'in' for the night with a puzzle feeding bowl, lots of toys. Hide little stashes of food around so he has to 'hunt' for it; you can even make little scent trails. Feeding on a schedule, not leaving it down all the time, makes food much more high-reward and fun to discover. You can also leave worn shirts or bras of yours out, either next to his favorite sleeping spaces or even in them (like cat beds) so he has some 'momma smell' to comfort him when you're separated!!

Put the toys and food away during the day, except for his breakfast!! Night time can become a 'fun' time for him, but only if you do it very positively! Exiling him from the bedroom with negative stimuli (picking him up and carrying him out, chasing him out of the room, shutting the door right in his face) will reinforce the negative associations; try to get a toy that he will chase out and then shut the door once he's left of his own accord.

Some major things to think about are - active playtime, not passive play. These are things that move (either on their own battery-operated or because you drag/swing/point them), versus balls or toys that sit on the floor. Cats have a LOT more energy than we give them credit for! They have an absolutely huge hunting instinct, and get a lot of satisfaction out of using that. Try toys like battery operated laser pointer stand, ones that move with very little jostling, mice that he has to 'hunt'. Here are a few I've used - a butterfly on a wire, a mouse that goes around a track for about 7-8 minutes, a laser tower. You get the idea. None of these are perfect, but they will be new and fun! You might have to come back out a few times a night to turn them back on at intervals, but hey, you'll be up with baby or to pee anyways!! Again, put these away during the day so they are 'new' at night. You can also try cat tunnels like these for fun new territory to explore.

Speaking of territory, try to get him using his 'vertical space' (shelves on the wall, cat trees, etc) as much as possible with treats and catnip. More places to explore means more places to hide food and toys!

In general, look into as much 'fun stuff' at night as possible. He's definitely going to want to explore and get to know baby; this is normal and fine as long as it is safe. Babies actually benefit from contact with animals as it helps their immune systems!! I think that night time is definitely going to be your hardest bit, but just be as consistent as you can and start small. Start with just 15mins locked out, but again, have him chase a toy out and then have something high-value (treats, a favorite toy/game) out there to keep him occupied. Just keep building those positive associations with 'outside the bedroom' and make the bedroom as boring a place as you can for him!!!

Another good page with a lot of the same info, a little better worded haha!!

I'd focus less on brand for stuff like toys and brushes, it matters more for things like dog food.

I love oven baked tradition dog food for small breeds and I get it through global pet foods. My dog used to not want to eat and then I switched him to that and he was suddenly a good eater.

For treats I use Crumps' Naturals Mini Trainers Freeze Dried Beef Liver but any freeze dried liver or organ meat works great. Sometimes I just boil chicken and dice it up small and use that as a treat.

I recommend using a harness where the lead clips through rungs near the harness clasp so that if the clasp comes undone your dog will still be attached to the leash. Never use a harness that uses Velcro to close, I learned that the hard way.

https://www.amazon.ca/Pawtitas-Adjustable-Reflective-ajustable-R%C3%A9fl%C3%A9chissant/dp/B00OBX3EKK/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=small+dog+harness&qid=1574183227&s=pet-supplies&sr=1-6

I use a car seat like this one https://www.amazon.ca/Kurgo-Rover-Booster-Seat-Tether/dp/B004699SHW/ref=sr_1_27?keywords=car+seat&qid=1574183135&s=pet-supplies&sr=1-27 not sure what the safety rating is but it keeps my lil guy from trying to crawl into my lap when I'm driving.

Please don't add a bell to your dog's collar. Dogs have much better hearing than humans and the bell would be so close to their ears. If you are worried about your dog getting lost make sure they have a tag on their collar with your address+phone number and make sure they are micro chipped.

Yep. I've been looking to buy one of these for my new cats who we yoinked off the street so we can keep them sociable and outgoing and happy to be travelling/outdoors. I believe it's this model, which is made to either be open with the cat hooked in (like the video), or with the top zipped it acts more like a cat carrier where you don't have to hook them in, but they can feel a little more freedom with the extra windows. Texens makes a few carriers like this and I'm honestly super undecided between them, they seem to be well-reviewed, nice look and quality, etc. I know this one has popped up on reddit a few times. I'm planning on asking for/splurging on one for Christmas this year!

u/Young_Lincoln · 4 pointsr/teslamotors

I bought this one from Amazon that looks identical to the Taptes one but costs around $27 vs the $40 they're asking. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N4OQQSJ/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . It looks like there are several brands there that are similar for around that $30 price. In any case, we're happy with ours for occasional use (a few times a month) with our 100 pound Doberman. It keeps him in a safe, comfortable position and traps most of his fur, even when he's shedding. The only thing you need to do is adjust the headrest straps when you first get it. It's very easy to fold up and stow, or move between cars.

u/dvs_l8_in · 1 pointr/Rabbits

Not sure what your budget is or what type of cage you have but I used these type of wire cubes to built a bigger home for my bun. For ideas on how to make a door/entrance take a look at this thread from a few weeks ago.

You can also try to put mats against the wires so he doesn't chew the wires and gets a snack instead. If he doesn't pay much attention to the mats you can try what I do at times, I get the treats (see link below) and rub it against the mats so it's more a more appetizing snack.

A few other suggestions when you move and have bigger space:

  • Tunnels - Options 1 - for this one just keep an eye on the hanging ball - my bun chewed right through the string to get rid of the ball but otherwise loves the tunnel, Option 2, Option 3

    Treats (recommended by her vet)

I also agree with a lot of the suggestions here, I have the Living World Teach treat toy and my bun just loves it, though doesn't care for other toys but lives for cardboard boxes. Hope this helps!
u/derekvof · 19 pointsr/OldManDog

That's great. When our dog got older, we found that they sell large dog stroller on Amazon (like this one). Worked wonderfully - we'd walk over an hour every night and he'd sit in there barking at everyone. It was such a boost to his mood to be able to go on long walks again. One of the stroller we had for another dog was such a perfect size - we could just take the handle bar off and put in the back of our CR-V and take her to her vet appointments without having to move her into/out of the stroller for the trip. Made life so much easier. Great job!

u/standrightwalkleft · 1 pointr/Dogtraining

I do this too! When my dog sees me pack up her breakfast in a Tupperware and throw it in my purse, she knows she gets to go play at daycare :) As soon as I stop the car, she gets to eat in the backseat.

I recommend getting a seat cover in case he gets carsick again - I have this one but there are a ton of options. Also seconding the recommendation to crack the windows if you can, they enjoy the fresh air and smells. Good luck!

u/snu22 · 3 pointsr/WRX

I've got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CMZ11TX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's been awesome so far and my doggo loves it. It fits perfectly in the WRX and has "anchors" underneath that slide in between the seats to keep the whole thing from sliding around on top of your seats.

There are a number of other decent looking ones on Amazon that also have great reviews, but this one I can definitely vouch for :)

u/bagelhug · 1 pointr/dogs

I had this problem with my dog too! Same thing with the Cerenia-- she stopped throwing up but still BUCKETS of drool and she was still clearly miserable. Took her about a day to recover, plus that stuff is stupid expensive.

Here's what fixed it: Dramamine! Works like a charm, she barely drools anymore and is perfectly fine when we arrive at our destination. I expected some drowsiness but surprisingly haven't noticed any yet.

Also, I'm not sure how big your dog is but mine is 30lbs and I think part of the problem was her getting moved around a lot in the back seat and not being about to see out the window. We got a car seat like this one to raise her up and keep her in place. She just lays really still in it but doesn't vomit anymore in shorter car rides without the Dramamine.

Oh and be sure to check with your vet for the dosage of the Dramamine before you try it :)

u/bruxbuddies · 3 pointsr/RATS

Good for you for giving them a good home! Yes, you can bathe your rats, and it sounds like that would be a good idea. Here is info on bathing them http://www.dapper.com.au/articles.htm#bath. You may want to wait a couple of days or so before bathing them, unless they are absolutely caked with waste and it's causing sores, because the move alone will be very stressful. Bathing them is also stressful, although they will get over it fairly quickly. Make sure their room is extra warm and that they have lots of warm fleece in their hides, since they'll be pretty chilly afterwards.

As long as the cardboard is thick and/or it's not a long drive, a cardboard box for transport should be fine. Be careful because some rats can chew very quickly through cardboard. If it's a long drive I would try to purchase a small carrier for the transport, and put their hide and a small towel in there.

Good luck!

u/eflat5 · 2 pointsr/westies

Wife and I had similar Westie issue until we purchased this bed ramp, that we leave up next to the bed at all times and now she climbs up and down from the bed as she pleases. Also, as she and her brother (Corgi-mix) get older, we didn't want them jumping completely off the bed from that height in an effort to save their older joints, back, etc. Definitely a purchase that we constantly ask each other, "Why didn't we buy this sooner?" It took a week or so for the dogs, and us, to get used to.

Ditto on the harness that someone else mentioned, our Westie hits the brakes from time to time, this harness has a huge comfy breast plate that we can sort of just pick her up and point her where we want her to go. Gotta love Westies....good luck.

u/Bramerican · 4 pointsr/SubaruForester

I think you are looking for fitted covers, but from I have seen, any that look half decent will cost several hundred dollars, but still won't trick anyone into thinking they belong there...
I recently purchased this and I love it. The fit is better on the forester than some other covers like it, and it really doesn't look bad, just looks very utilitarian. Easy access to seatbelt and LATCH anchors.

Amazon

u/GloryFish · 2 pointsr/Dachshund

Same here. Not cheap but we got this one about a year ago and it's been great. The doggers got the hang of it after a few days with just a bit of coaxing. The best part is it's tall enough to reach the top of our bed which is somewhat high. It's very sturdy so I don't anticipate needing to replace it anytime soon.

u/Pablois4 · 2 pointsr/dogs

As an aside, I rather like the concept of that soft crate like carrier in your link as a possible alternative to containing one's dog in a crash. My issue with the current model would be that I'd never trust a plastic buckle under force and I have no idea of the robustness of the crate seams and material. It seems like an idea that could be improved.

Anyway, I have this hammock, a mini SUV with leather seats and a smooth collie who's no slouch in the shedding department. The side flaps zip up. It has worked quite well for containing hair. The hair we find outside of the hammock is pretty incidental, just a few hairs. Another benefit is the side panel, unzipped and hanging down, covers and protects the side of the seat so he can't scratch it when jumping in or out. When we need to use the back seat for something else it easily folds up, containing the hair within.

We've had this hammock for nearly two years and the leather on the back seats is pristine.

My only issue is that the hammock bottom is rather slippery to the leather seats and Alfie is a weenie about any feeling of the hammock moving when he's in it. I put non-slip carpet padding under the hammock which holds it in place.

u/fairybreadsandwich · 17 pointsr/AskWomen

Dog car seat is one of the best thing I’ve brought ever. I couldn’t find one that worked well here in Australia so the shipping was killer but it’s great for my puppy, she’s very secure but can see out the window which she loves. Even if you slam the breaks on the seat doesn’t move [link.](
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004ZJOKL2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1510471973&sr=8-3&keywords=dog%2Bbucket%2Bseat%2Bcar&dpPl=1&dpID=41Uc7CN0SyL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1)

Looking forward to Amazon lauching here soon and seeing what they’ve got.

u/ShitandRainbows · 1 pointr/jeepdogs

I use this one.

I love it. It’s also a booster seat, you adjust the height so they can see out of the window and windshield. It comes with a seatbelt teacher that you can attach your dogs harness so they can’t jump/fall out. The lining and cushioning comes out super easy so you can wash it.
I’ve had it for years and even with my doors off most of the time, I have zero concern he will fall out. It’s really easy to put in and take out too, but I usually leave it in unless I have a passenger.
My little guy is 11lbs and has plenty of room to lay down in it also. Honestly can’t recommend it enough.

u/Runenmeister · 1 pointr/Greyhounds

Get one of these for your backseat and let the dog have the back seat. It's fantastic. It comes with a couple leashes where one end is a seatbelt clip. He can't fall into the floor this way and has padding across the whole backseat. Plus it's waterproof. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CMZ11TX

Also get him a harness (chest-attach area) like this and seatbelt him in, either with the above or with this one's carabiner. Helps give him an anchor and keeps him safer. Keeps him away from you a bit better too, distracting you is the #1 safety factor.

Thanks! It’s a Vailge car hammock my sister bought for me off amazon, had to find it for you since I didn’t buy it. Works great though. Good pick on her end :)

u/SmolBirb04 · 1 pointr/parrots

They seem to like it. It was only their first time so they were a little nervous. The bag is made of canvas which is a really tough material so I wouldn't worry about him chewing through it. It still gives them a lot of viewing area too! The top of the bag is mesh as well as both of the sides. From what I can tell the mesh is pretty tough too. The bubble window is also really cool because it allows them to see more rather than just a flat window. [Here's] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N32SR0V/ref=sspa_mw_detail_5?psc=1) the Amazon link if you'd like to check it out :)

u/dil27guy · 2 pointsr/teslamotors

I have this and it works great. The bottom is rubber mesh that keeps it in place and it folds up to fit in the frunk perfectly. Doesn’t protect the doors though, so I keep towels around and of course need to do some serious windexing now and then.

u/ryafur · 5 pointsr/PetMice

I have only flown puppies myself. Check with the airlines you want to fly with before buying the tickets, see if they allow them in a very secure caging as a carry on pet. There might be a fee and it might depend on what they consider 'small pet'. That is a short flight, so provide water before you leave home and then as soon as you get to your location (~3-5 hr.). I'd offer some stiff food like biscuits or blocks to nibble on that isn't too crumbly or small like seeds. Check with what bedding the airlines allow as well. You might want to toss in a toy or two or a paperboard tube to distract them or for them to hide in. Planes are loud and scary to most animals.

Note: don't show them off in the airport or plane, keep things subtle and on the down low. Most of the general public does not share our love of rodents and it might spark fear, controversy, or even worse things in the wrong person.

They make small pet carriers by Kaytee/ Super Pet like 'Take Me Home' (wired travel cage) and 'Come Along' (soft mesh travel carrier). The latter is certainly the most appropriate and subtle, and some pictures show using both together for security (can't chew out) and privacy. You might have to hunt the internet or stores for them. Hagen makes a Living World carrier that is hard sided [https://www.amazon.com/Living-World-Carrier-Purple-Grey/dp/B006JVPL6W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1491533314&sr=1-1&keywords=small+animal+carrier -as an example, not an endorsement]. I'd add a strap for support on that one, just so it doesn't pop open, and carry it by the base not the handles. Nothing worse than a cage coming apart feet above the ground and even worse when on the go. Finally, make sure it will fit under the seat of the airline chosen, some have little room as it is. Good luck!

u/thefootballhound · 2 pointsr/cavaliers

He's unstimulated (bored) because he feels the car is moving but can't see much from that vantage. I got my cav a booster seat and she just loves the car ride scenery. Recommend this one.

Kiba sits in the front seat (getting too big now) so i bought the kurgo copilot seat cover + seatbelt. He either lies on the seat or I open the window wide enough for him to stick his nose out, but not jump out.

I will soon transition to a hammock the backseat + seatbelt :)
this hammock looks pretty good. been monitoring.

u/Hellwitsch · 17 pointsr/labrador

You could try a car seat cover. This helped our pup like the car much better. That way they can't fall and have more support when laying down.

Something like this:

https://www.amazon.ca/seat-covers-cars-YoGi-Prime/dp/B01DZXYSJC

u/ht687324687 · 1 pointr/TeslaModel3

I got these to protect the seats and doors. I've got a 45+lb mix who drooled a lot in the car when he was younger, and these were great protection. I slide a cushion or two under the seat protector to give him a boost up (short legs) so he can actually stick his face out the window.

AND if he's in the back, I always put on the child locks, since it's just a button (not a lever) and much easier for a dog to accidentally hit with paws on the armrest.

u/jadestonewinnifer · 3 pointsr/Dachshund

I have something like this so my pup can look out the window but is still strapped in and safe :)

Call me obsessive but I ordered the following items to protect the backseat. This is what it looks like:
https://i.imgur.com/HotX31j.jpg

I lay this extender on the backseat first. It fills the gap and allows my dog to utilize the entire backseat space:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PR25321/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I then put this soft hammock above so I can further contain him by zipping up the sides:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PMMQD5M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This screen prevents him from sticking his head to the front seats and drool over them:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004PLTJ8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Finally these protect the doors. I use the plastic inserts but I had to cut them shorter because they wouldn't insert all the way in:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071XP55XK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We use a harness and a seat like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Solvit-Tagalong-Booster-Seat-Medium/dp/B003F76Y6E/ref=sr_1_7?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1487611972&sr=1-7&keywords=dog+car+seat

It gives them a good view of what's going on but is secure so they can't run around the back. Make sure you have a harness on them to clip into the seat. Any harness will do.

u/Thebush121 · 5 pointsr/teslamotors

The is the one I use. Fit perfect in my Tacoma and the model 3. Wrapping the clips around the head rest is tricky but it fits and works well. I like the zip up sides, keeps my husky mostly off the doors... Hair still gets everywhere but that's the husky life.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DCT6SPY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_OI67BbN3S3J25

u/nanotom · 1 pointr/CX5

I have this seat cover, these door covers, and this armrest cover.

The seat cover is slightly narrower than the back seat when the sides are zipped up, but it's nice and thick and seemingly durable. I ended up keeping the sides unzipped after getting another dog and needing to keep one of the seats dropped; hence the door covers. The armrest cover helps a lot when the dogs want to interact, especially the drooler.

u/sminty7 · 1 pointr/teslamotors

I have a hammock with side flaps and it would keep all the hair contained 100% if I didn't use the seatbelt hole, but I like to keep her buckled in. I see there are others where the side flaps zipper up - that might be a good choice for you.

u/SanicRealm · 2 pointsr/dogs

Ruffwear has a good one if you have cloth seats and this one is awesome if you have leather seats.

u/Amazon421 · 1 pointr/parrots

[For my green cheek I bought] (https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/reptile/reptile-habitats-and-enclosures/imagitarium-medium-reptile-pet-keeper-aquarium) and then drilled 2 small holes on either side and put in a small piece of stick on the bottom for him to stand on.

[I've also seen people use] (https://www.amazon.com/Living-World-Carrier-Purple-Grey/dp/B006JVPL6W/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=Pet+carrier+small&qid=1562380210&s=gateway&sr=8-14) and they even sell it at my local bird store for birds. You just have to put something in there for him to hold on to.

You can even buy a plastic storage container and drill holes in it. That's what I did for my very first bird travel container. The most important thing is that whatever you get is secure and doesn't come open easily. You want the lid to latch or lock on somehow. Then make sure there's air supply. And finally, make sure he's got something to hold on to. If you can (especially if it's a long trip), add water supply. If you can't, always add fruits for water for your bird (grapes, oranges, etc).

u/watchingfromaffar · 2 pointsr/teslamotors

I have this dog seat cover for the back seat and these door protectors.

I also have a golden, and a smaller dog. The door protectors are better for the smaller dogs as they have to put their paws on the door to see out whereas the golden just sits up. Either way, it protects the back very well so far.

There's a ton similar to it. I like it because it can go vertical or horizontal (we use to horizontally sometimes, for example when just resting at the park or in the car, so he has more room to stretch out and nap). The bottom has an insert that keeps it from sagging. One downside is there's no pockets in the backpack. That would be very useful.

I think you may be right about the associations. Fergus doesn't mind getting in the car cause I take him to work 2-3 times a week, to the park for long walks at least 3 times a week and doggy daycare on Friday. That way outweighs the Groomers & Vets visits and he loves those places.

Maybe some trips to the park and sweeten the deal with some treats on the ride over and she'll start to look at it more favorably.

I also bought him this car seat which lets him stand up on the window and look out the front. Sometimes dogs get antsy cause they know they are moving and can't see.

If it were not already a lost cause, a seat protector and containment screen like this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JONT9AK/ref=psdc_3024183011_t1_B01HDQCU74) can be bought for pretty cheap. Will be on my short-list with PetTurf for my brick patio before 65+ pound hound joins my household.

yeah I'm not a fan of this either, plus I like having an easily removable mat for my dogs that takes all the fur away quickly without the need to vacuum.

I love it. It is really liberating. Now we can go on any trail and I just throw a covered ice or heat pack in there. Here it is. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0096SCXQQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1375800008&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX110_SY190

We've had success using a "hammock" that has sides for the doors. Take down one of the door sides, attach the seatbelt to the harness. Our dogs are 50 - 60 lbs they have plenty of room on the seat, we haven't needed a seat extender.

u/DataIsMyCopilot · 15 pointsr/pics

Belts for dogs don't quite work the same way, though. There's a high failure rate.

You can get something like this instead and it's supposedly the best because it keeps them contained to the back seat.

It’s a really nice seat.

This is the same brand I got for my dog and it has been really nice.

u/Dwolfwood · 2 pointsr/corgi

Ordered it off Amazon , it has saved my car. *Edit fixed link

u/GLIMPING · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

I bought this one off amazon for my 10lb kitty. It's really well constructed and has held up better than other soft sided carriers. He actually likes to hang out in it occasionally. Would recommend as a solid purchase but doubt it will be BIFL. YMMV.

u/InvincibleChutzpah · 2 pointsr/puppy101

I have something similar. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07DCT6SPY?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I like that ours has the option to for a back seat human passenger.

u/Gigitygig · 1 pointr/dogs

Yup. We have a 60lb and a 35lb. They both go in the back together. I used to buy one by Outward Bound and they would last 12-18 months. I just got this one a few weeks ago and I like it a lot more.

u/Invidac · 2 pointsr/TeslaModel3

You can buy covers specifically for the doors like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071XP55XK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uWVYDb9ZVKYVV though I can't vouch for a specific product.

u/andy2na · 3 pointsr/teslamotors

this was suggested in another thread. It seems a bit much (in looks) though. Id like one that just covers the bottom (bench) part of the seat.

u/nanaroo · 2 pointsr/Trucks

These work well in the back seat of my CrewMax, could probably use it on a bench seat. Very durable for my big dog.

+1 to Spanish blanket though.

u/clamsofdoom · 1 pointr/teslamotors

I have these for my rear doors. They actually work really well. The oversized tabs keep the covers from popping out as the windows slide up/down. The only down side is that it’ll tear up after market tint.

Dog owners - how do you protect your doors? I just installed these in my 3, but when my windows roll up after closing the door, they push those cards up with them, leaving them barely hanging in there.

The red looks similar to what you have that's why I asked. It's the one I use and my pug is 25 pounds.

My cat also howls in his carrier. You might consider a harness and a dog/cat car seat. It's basically just an open box that straps to the seat and has a tether to hold them in. My little buddy is almost 16 and greatly prefers it to being crated.

mine is similar to this

Get one of these before your backseat is toast.

u/OutcastTetromino · 0 pointsr/subaru

I use thispet seat cover from Amazon. It straps to both front and back seat head rest. However, i took off the back seat head rest off because it blocks my view when i need to drive in reverse. So i use the rear seat belts to strap on the pet seat cover.

Car covers for pets are life-savers

I know it's a bit unrelated to the post, but that hair drives me nuts and I want all dog owners to know these exist.

u/titiangal · 4 pointsr/ofcoursethatsathing

I would worry about his nails popping the inflatable too. If you’re okay with making the backseat solely his, maybe a hammock would be better? This one has solid reviews, but there are simpler ones if you sometimes need your backseat for passengers.

It also helps contain the dog hair so every passenger doesn’t need a lint roller after a ride. Personally I use a leash adapter that connects to the buckled seat belt to prevent him from getting hurt in an accident but still offering enough range of motion for him to look out the window or lay down.
