Now reporting back! We went on Thursday (6/27) afternoon and did the Filter Plant Run recommended by RyanSmith.
The run is easy to get to; it's just a straight shot up Poudre Canyon Highway. Drop your chase car at Picnic Rock (there was no fee for this) and continue up to Gateway Park, about 2 miles or so up the canyon. There, you can either drive down to the banks and pay five dollars (self-serve) or park above for free. Actually, you can pull over just about anywhere there's a pullover area and start your run there, but we paid the five bucks, which puts you pretty much right at the river's edge.
Gateway starts you out in relative calm, followed almost immediately by some fast water. The water was very cold at first-you get used to it quickly! We were using these Intec raft-things, but of course plain inner tubes would be just fine. We also had life-jackets, as recommended, and for that we were grateful. I'm a strong swimmer and accustomed to swimming in rough water and I still found it challenging when I flipped my raft trying to get to the bank to wait for my partner to catch up.
It being the middle of the week, we had the river to ourselves for quite a bit of the ride, with an occasional fisherman and other tubers thrown in. My guess is that the weekends are a different story...
The run itself was lots of fun, with moments of genuine thrills, and interludes of calm, slower moving water. We did not get out at any point during the run, as the water was plenty deep the whole way. I would recommend bringing a paddle or finding a stick that you can use to give a little bit of control/rock-avoidance capabilities. Make sure you get out when you get to Picnic Rock, as there is a dam just fifty yards or so past it, and you do NOT want to go over that!
The whole thing was three-and-a-half hours or so from the south end of town to the river and back, and at a cost of maybe ten bucks or whatever for parking and gas, a bargain.
Highly recommended. We will for sure do this run again. We are really grateful to everyone who helped in this thread, and I hope my report here helps someone else out.
Thanks for hosting! This was a lot of fun! Some of the best memories are made in flip flops.
omg shes adorable. I'm gonna list a few things in your price range that we bought our daughter for her first birthday that were really great. this swing is great, can easily be put up, and saved us from having to go to the park all the time. I got easily annoyed with the park because in the 3 near my house there are only 2 infant swings and there would always be someone using them. this is also a great gift. We have an above the ground pool but some days I just didn't feel like going in it but I knew my daughter would want to. It provides shade and I can put warmer water in it (from the kitchen) rather than the pool would sometimes be ice cold. If you don't like either of those this is a cute owl book and this is an adorable owl toy. If I win I'd like this. Hope she has a great birthday!
Let me begin by saying I really love ducks, so I offer the following as a suggestion. This is based purely on the idea that I want your ducks to be happy. That being said, you really need to get something for them to float/swim in. Ducks are not meant to spend their lives on their feet on land. Left to their own devices, wild ducks will spend a majority of their time floating in water where their weight is dispersed evenly. You need to get one of these:

This will give them some water deep enough to dive in which is the proper exercise they need to stay healthy. You can also use this as a way to feed them live minnows or gold feeder fish. This is really good for them as is it adds protein and omega 3 fatty acids to their diet but its also conducive to good healthy exercise. Even if we assume that these ducks are going to just be egg layers or food, you still want to foster a healthy environment for them. In addition to being a licensed and trained rehab tech for water foul in California, I'm also a formally trained chef. I can tell you that the life quality in general of the animal is directly proportionate to its food value. This is why Kobe beef costs a fortune, their not going through all those labor intensive motions for nothing. So I wish you all the best and if you have any questions, I'd be happy to advise you and or direct you to the proper experts who can help. Cheers~!

Depends. I tried using the shuttle once and they refused to take me since I didn't have a "dual-chambered" tube, which is bullshit. It was just their way of forcing you to rent one of their tubes if you want to ride with them. Taking 2 cars is definitely the way to go, leaving one at the exit point (Parking costs $3). If you're going to go more than once over the summer, just invest in the tube a life jacket. These are the tubes everyone buys, and buying it costs the same as renting it once. It won't help you for tomorrow, but life jackets are currently $12 on Amazon. So once you make the initial investment, it's free to go as much as you want after that.
I use a different route than what was suggested above: Start at Cochran island, 5450 Interstate N Pkwy Sandy Springs, GA 30328 and end at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area: Paces Mill
3444 Cobb Pkwy Atlanta, GA 30339. I've done a lot of tubing and this is the best route, and it's very popular. It takes 3 hours. I've never heard of being able to rent only the life jackets, but it may be possible.
I go pretty often, so let me know if you have any other questions. Oh, and here's where you check if it's safe to go, but this is only an issue if it's been raining during the week.
EDIT: I just saw an even better deal for life jackets
One year olds are a little challenging on planes. They're too young to wear headphones but old enough to find the plane exciting instead of sleep inducing. I'd bring a lot of snacks that double as entertainment (feeding one cheerio at a time can eat up 20 minutes). Paper to crumple is also a good one.
For the resort, what are the sleeping arrangements like? That's always my biggest stress travelling with my twins. Are you bringing a pack and play or does the resort offer them? Bringing a white noise machine? Is there a way to have your room near a family member so if he goes to bed at 7 pm you're not trapped being quiet alone in a dark room? If they're nearby you can bring a monitor and go hang out but if you're on your own floor you're trapped.
We also got floats like these for our twins. I'd think about that or a lifejacket. Babies like to try and paddle/squirm around and it's hard to just hold a wet slippery baby the whole time you're in the water.
Have fun! One is such a cute age he'll have a blast.
This thread reminded me of this training kit I heard about last winter shortly after getting Sara and Maybelle. Just put it on order so I'll probably get it on Monday or Tuesday. The training stick idea really appeals to me. Seem to recall some discussion of incorporating a training clicker like you'd use for horses or dogs.

Also saw an aquaponic forum post or a youtube about a swimming pool toy. I thought they were called pool bats but when I google that all the returns seem to be about little-winged mammals. Anyway, these things are brightly colored tubes, two or three feet long and two or three inches in diameter. This guy sliced some up salami style and was using them as little rafts to individually float net cups with plants on the surface of an aquarium. Ever since I saw that I've been thinking of weighing down those slices and using them as hoops at different depths for fish to investigate and swim through. Edit: Here they are.

Another half-baked idea I've had since getting the girls is using clear plastic PVC pipe in various ways to entertain the three of us. It could just start with just a little food in the middle of a six or eight-inch length of pipe but in my twisted mind, it evolves into 3D mazes with Ys and T's and such. Imagine a 3D rat maze.

And expanding on that thought. Sometimes aquaponics guys use a U-siphon to connect two tanks and maintain the same water level between them. If a bright and brave fantail goldfish was used to swimming through pipes as discussed above, wouldn't she use that U-siphon like a
walkingswimming bridge betwixt the tanks?
Hope this thread has legs. I'll report on the training kit when I get it.
I would love to visit the Dead Sea more than anything! I missed out on a chance to go, and I'm dying to get to go!
It is between Palestine/Jordan and can be visited on either side. I really really want to go, because of all that salt water, and cliff diving and summer! I'm so very excited for summer so I can go spend every single day on the beach.
Funny, I was missing summer so much these past few days, that I was summer shopping on Amazon! I added this AMAZING volleyball net for the water to my wishlist yesterday. Its $0.99 over, so if that doesn't work, I would love to have this seat!!
Thanks for the contest! Hope summer comes fast for you! :)
Edit: Summertime and the livin' is easy
Under an hour drive from Charlotte, the Catawba is a good starting point but better options exist in Columbia SC or elsewhere in NC (Green River, Deep Creek, French Broad)
Floating can be a wonderful activity for hot weekends, the Catawba is pretty warm so don't expect a huge cool off.
If you want to make a go of it once or twice a year, DIY and save the $20/person charge of companies.
Some suggestions to get you started:
Drop your gear and most of the party here, your put in spot- Catawba River Access, Fort Mill Dam
Leave a car or two here, your takeout spot - Riverwalk, Fort Mill
Additional info from Duke on put in/out
The float can take a few hours, depending on the water level, discharge rate and the day's weather. My notes are simply a starting point, research and plan accordingly!
This is what we do... A quick path is just to take the bridge into VA then on the WVa side over the last bridge hang a right toward harper's ferry and there's a little parking lot. You don't have to pay to park, but they will put an envelope on your car. You can start here if you like or end here.
If you choose to start here, there's a landing area where the rivers Ys and you can get out there and walk a bit... this tubing trip is about an hour or so.
If you use the park area as your get out spot you can go up the river a ways by river riders and launch in on the public boat launch that is right near theirs. Take a look at a map on google maps and follow the river up... We just drove our cars around and you can follow the buses to see where they put in and get out.
From where River Riders puts in on the area that's around their HQ, the ride is about 3-4 hours down to the parking spot by harper's ferry... I would say there's only one rapid that is challenging at all, but a group of 8 of us all managed to make it through just fine, and it was pretty fun.
Tubes from Amazon like River Riders has are about $18 shipped if you have Prime (http://www.amazon.com/Intex-58825E-River-Run-I/dp/B000PEOMC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371961427&sr=8-1&keywords=river+tube)
This slip n slide would be great for my mom's daycare kiddos, but I'd be happy with anything! This item is on my Everything Else list.
Thanks for the awesome contest!
Intek River Run Tubes on Amazon are legit awesome. https://www.amazon.com/Intex-River-Lounge-Inflatable-Diameter/dp/B000PEOMC8/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1525867270&sr=1-1&keywords=river+run+tubes

I HAD A GREAT TIME IN THIS TUBE
I was also admittedly drunk, but whatevs. The river was hella low, and i got stuck on some rocks several times, but this tube was like "AWW NAW HELL NAW" and i just scootched right over top of all them rocks and sticks and nonsense. The cupholders and handles were perfect for my can o' wine and my Nalgene o' Bootlegger. Not gonna lie, I threw up in the river, but I don't blame the tube. A few people had other brands of tubes, and their tubes popped, but luckily, i had brought an extra one of these already inflated. Ironically, these were the same people who were dissin on these vinyl tubes because "canvas wrapped is sooooo much better." WHERE IS YOUR CANVAS GOD NOW??
I don't know where the tubes are now, i think they might have gotten thrown into a bonfire, but if i ever feel like pukin in a river again, this will be my method of flotation. It inflated and deflated super fast, but it was bulky to carry back to the pick-up point.
Final word -- If you need a tube: BUY THIS JENK RIGHT HERE
the absolute best part of spring(and summer for that matter)!
My favorite part of is being able to be out without freezing! I love taking weekend vacations and spending time with my girlfriend! My pup love to go on car rides and stick her head out the window so this is her favorite time too :)
I did this in 2012! I basically went the same route--white dress, neon glittery makeup. I debated between a rainbow wig vs. spraying my hair white, and ultimately went the white spray route because I thought all the rainbow wigs looked cheap and tacky. I was actually really happy with it, because my colorful neon eyes ended up being the only color in an otherwise all-white outfit, which I thought was pretty cool, but it was A HUGE PAIN to wash out, especially since it was white spray on my very black hair... it looked like I had really bad dandruff for, like, a week. For my horn, I went with this (this was before the unicorn fad made a comeback, so there weren't many good horns on the market), which I didn't love, but it worked... I think you can find a much nicer one now. Good luck!
Honestly, I am pretty damn picky when it comes to tubing. There are a lot of ways for it to go south and be less than enjoyable and I am not about that life. What I would do if I were you (and when I am me on a new-to-me river) is find a livery that does tube rentals and do that for your first time out. What that does is usually puts you on a generally slow and shallow stretch of river that has been cleared of tube popping debris, lets you see if you like it, and, if it is just you and your kids, has the bonus of picking you up and taking you back to where you put in. Then you know for the next time and you buy this or this. We have both in our small flotilla and have used them dozens of times. Some extra pro tips: clip a life jacket to at least one of them so in case you do pop a tube you still have a way to float and pick up a cheap $1 plastic paddle from Goodwill if you ever see them, they are great for pushing off of potential obstacles.
edit- OR drive 2-ish hours to u/tipsycup’s kayak and tube livery and I will handle it all for you! F-r-e-e, plus keto boat snacks!
I dig it. And it ALL sounds too familiar.
Just dropping some techniques that changed my shit. Hopefully it will spark some ideas for you.
But my most profitable flip was selling inflatable emoji beach balls.
Kids go CRAZY for these things - whether they're on a beach or having a birthday party.
I bought a 12-pack from Amazon for $12 and then sold them individually for $10 each.
And here's a thought - if you live in or near a beach town, go down to the beach one day on the weekend with about 50 balls of different sizes, setup your lawn chair and an umbrella to sit under, create a BIG for sale sign, have a bin of already blown up beach balls (or keep them in the package), and just chill.
And considering tourist season is coming up...
Also, you can go to your mother's neighbors, PTA meetings, link up with local pool companies and sell it to them by the pack, etc.
This will teach you a lot as well:
How to write copy. The psychology of sales. How to close a deal. Product display. Customer Service. Etc.
And whether you do emoji beach balls or not, the same application applies.
I hope this sort of helped or sparked some ideas. Good luck! You got this.
Yay, so glad to hear it went well. I can't wait to camp with our little one. You mentioned bringing a kiddie pool. Do you have one yet? We got this one and it's great. Inflates pretty quick, deflates to fold up small, holds enough water to be fun for splashing. Only (small) downside is that it is absolutely covered in warning labels. Ha!
I agree. The key is to be professional and courteous. Have a designated event organizer, respect other people, and clean up the best you can. Have everyone stay after it's over and clean up the area on ground.
When I play airsoft, we have a rule- leave the area cleaner than it was when we got there. Sure, there are BBs everywhere if it's outdoors, but we pick up all the trash even if it was there before we got there, and we leave the site with the trash bags, putting new ones in. Even if the trash bags were full already. A public park is not very different. Don't give them a reason to want you gone and they won't ask you to go.
Ninja Edit: Also, be sure to use biodegradable balloons.
10/10 would rock. Really? That long? Impressive! Happy anniversary!! Or celebration. Announcement? Have fun!
We just took our 15 month-old, so here are some suggestions:
Someone suggested on another forum to use a pool noodle on the boom arm to keep from getting dents in the headphone cushions. Seems pretty smart, as I had thought about the long-term integrity of the headphones hanging like this.
http://www.amazon.com/Noodle-Style-Color-Exact-Dimensions/dp/B0029XD0CG
Problem solved.
You will need at least one hose, if you can get one with a quick release mechanism I would recommend that. I'm not sure if you'll need adaptors honestly. I'm not really versed on different airbrush company standards. Are you going to a shop to get it or getting it online? Because you could either ask someone at the shop for specifics, or check the online store for recommended accessories.
I bought almost this exact package, and it came with almost all the hardware I needed: https://www.everythingairbrush.com/airbrushing-kits-brand/value-kit-range/harder-steenbeck-kits/ab-as-186-airbrushing-kit-with-evolution-silverline-fpc-2-in-1-airbrush.html
The only other hardware I got was this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spraytidy-Professional-Airbrush-Cleaning-Accessories/dp/B00RVZG4X4/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=Spraytidy+Professional+3+in+1+Airbrush+Cleaning+Station&qid=1571389692&sr=8-2
I haven't needed to buy any more accessories for my set up other than these, both the links show what comes in the packages individually.
I hope that's of some help.
I have one of these. It's pretty high quality and still cheap compared to renting from a company. The only complication is that you need two cars to coordinate rides. My friend also has one of these which lets us bring along a boatload of drinks and snacks.
If you stick with that brand, they have a great locking system to attach everyone together.
I had to resist not buying this one! :P
I'm thinking just that, although I have never worked with straw, I am thinking of using this as a good experiment to try it out.
I might actually order a second pool, one to set atop the other for colonization, maybe tape, IDK I'll have to figure something out for fruiting....but I could realistically rig up a DIY plastic 'shelter' with my extra humidifier and a spare fan for humidity + FAE.
Could be a neat little project, I have a spare room in my basement that is not in use.
Either way, I've suddenly got an urge to leave early and start soaking 40lbs of WBS.
That plus a bale of hay, and some cleverness....we might be in business.
We'll see, I'll think about this project more overnight/this weekend.
Feel free to provide insight/suggestions...all will be considered!
I have seen the grain slurries, what I do with LC is just use more LC, less H2O (when prepping grains). I try to hand dry the grains until they are no longer sticking to my hand when I press my hand on the pile, then I load jars and PC.
Each quart gets a full syringe of LC (which is plentiful) and I get full colonization within 10-14 days depending on where in the house I stick them (and if I shake, I forget sometimes and do a late shake which takes forever).
MycTyson
An elephant weighs about 3-6.5 tons. which at the high end is roughly 5,900 kilograms
A "jumbo" pool noodle is a 55" long by 3.5" diameter cylinder; converting to centimeters is 139.7 cm x 8.89 cm, solving for volume of a cylinder (V= pi * r^2 * h) ~= 9046.03 cm^3
1 cubic centimeter of volume will support 1 gram of mass, so each of those noodles will support about 9.04 kilograms of mass, minus the weight of the pool noodle (1.6 ounces, or about 45 grams, as it turns out), so we can round down and say that each pool noodle will hold up exactly 9 kilos of elephant.
5,900 / 9 is going to leave us at about 650-ish noodles needed before I punch numbers into a calculator, and indeed the number I get is 655.55555.... so round up and make it a nice even 666 noodles to hold up that elephant comfortably.
At the low end, an Asian elephant can be as small as about 3500kg and thus would need roughly 400-ish noodles; plugging those numbers in, 3500/9 = 388.888.... so rounding up, about 400.
Love the chest as they're great for handy stuff storage. A fancy fabric draught excluder put along the top of the black couch will hide the steel and make a nice cheap head rest. Or Pipe insulation slit to cover the steel Or a colourful pool noodle to rest your weary head on. Or maybe not!😆
practically best and affordable [40 feet] (https://www.amazon.com/Buzz-Bee-Warriors-Colossus-Blaster/dp/B00VMUX900) technically best ever sold [50 feet] (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Larami-Super-Soaker-CPS-2000-Constant-Pressure-Water-Gun-tested-working/323213620594?hash=item4b41087572:g:3pkAAOSwH~ta1BLe)
OMG!!!! That sounds scary. We debated swim lessons but have been successful with our community's pool and a hotel pool on vacation.
We were also gifted this, http://www.amazon.com/Swimways-Spring-Activity-Center-Canopy/dp/B000WQZD9U/ref=zg_bs_1272923011_1/181-1669147-7320012 and it has worked very well for us!
We are going to Dewey Beach in August for a BIG family vacation, let's see how she does with the Ocean!
Reminds me of this:

Scroll down for user images. It's pretty funny. That company was successfully sued for false advertising.
Don't buy a shitty walmart float. Just buy a good Intex tube, they are $18:
http://www.amazon.com/Intex-58825E-River-Run-I/dp/B000PEOMC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376583590&sr=8-1&keywords=intex+river+run
Much better quality, two cup holders, a headrest, a good valve, thicker plastic. Cheaper to buy this than to pay for one tube rental.
No problem. A few of my friends have this tube by the same manufacturer as the other. It's $20 but has significantly thicker material (felt like the same stuff as a whitewater raft), cupholders, and a net across the bottom you can sit on rather than fall through. Have fun!
I didn't know the trick about sitting on the bulge for even inflation. Cool!
Here's the one I got a couple years ago which I absolutely love.
I have 0 affiliation with this product but I saw it a few weeks ago. It helps critters in pools get to safety. https://www.amazon.com/Swimline-70200SL-FrogLog-Critter-Saving/dp/B004UHY2TY
There is this device as well as something called a critter skimmer that could also help in the future :) https://www.amazon.com/Swimline-70200SL-FrogLog-Critter-Saving/dp/B004UHY2TY
None. Supersoaker today is a shadow of what they once were. I think there was one pressurized blaster last year, but all others are trigger-less with a HAMP, or just little wimpy water pistols.
Otherwise, the Buzzbee Colossus 2 might be a good choice. Better range than Hasbro Blasters and a big capacity.
https://www.amazon.com/Buzz-Bee-Warriors-Colossus-Blaster/dp/B00VMUX900
I've had one for about two years and it works well enough. I've only pulled a few frogs and lizards out since adding it. They aren't perfect but in my case it works. Before I got it carcass removal was a daily occurrence and reaching in for the skimmer basket was like a scene from an Indiana Jones movie.

My fiance have a couple of Intex River Runs.

Admittidly we haven't used them very much yet, but I've seen lots of other people use them and they tend to be the first thing that pops up when you google "floats for tubing". Lots of Amazon reviews claim they're pretty tough and can withstand even some of the tougher rapids Again, I'm a newbie here too, but when I was looking this up last year a lot of other message boards pointed towards these.
Well if that is the case then the diameter would be 7.639 feet, or about 7 feet 8 inches, making that guy seem short again.
EDIT: If you scroll down here https://www.amazon.com/Behemoth-Inflatable-12-Foot-Sol-Coastal/dp/B01AYKN476
You see that you are technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.

Thanks for the contest~!
We have a tub, but Grandma's house has only showers. When my daughter was younger, she disliked the shower. Now (1.5 yrs), while she is dubious initially, once she's in she finds the spray from the detachable shower head very ticklish, and giggles through most of the shower! Maybe you can find a shower sprayer that's quieter and/or gentler? One thing I'd considered for Grandma's but never tried, was using an inflatable pool like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I9RZOW/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_UEaWub0SH89D5
Hope that helps!
Buying an airbrush is kind of like buying a guitar. If you buy a super cheap one it's difficult to get any good results out of it and it can put you off for life. So invest a little bit would be my advice.
I can personally recommend the following.
Airbrush: iwata hp-cs - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eclipse-0-35mm-Action-Gravity-Airbrush/dp/B000BQKFAI
Compressor: - https://www.amazon.co.uk/ABEST-Professional-Compressor-Multi-Purpose-Airbrushing/dp/B01I2ZUKYU/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1538751820&sr=1-1&keywords=airbrush+compressor
The Compressor comes with a cheap airbrush so if you want to try with a cheap one go ahead, but you will want to upgrade sooner or later and that Iwata HP-CS will last a life time if you look after it.
This is also a must - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RVZG4X4/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B00RVZG4X4&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_p=8e5be0e3-b258-4b06-8b6e-695b24f935a4&pf_rd_r=4PP45CTWFKT5WD7KR20K&pd_rd_wg=pFBRH&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=j5dUp&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=d08662fa-c8af-11e8-a4e7-5f4df7c134b5

There are devices that help animals like frogs escape pool btw: https://www.amazon.com/Swimline-70200SL-FrogLog-Critter-Saving/dp/B004UHY2TY
I got these https://www.amazon.com/Intex-River-Lounge-Inflatable-Diameter/dp/B000PEOMC8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1527094550&sr=8-5&keywords=inner+tube and they work great, you can even put drinks in the bottom without worrying about them going into the river
Not a problem!
Welcome to Missoula! (or whenever you get here)

There are these cool critter-saving things you can get called a FrogLog. It’s a little ramp that goes into the pool and gives animals that fell in a safe way back out.
I'd suggest balloons but the eco hippie in me cringes at the thought of so many balloons going up into the air and then popping and falling back onto the earth. Maybe paper lanterns instead? They're biodegradable at least, and very pretty.
Here's a pack of 50 for $47, they're about a foot by a foot http://www.amazon.com/Chinese-Kongming-Lanterns-Birthday-Wedding/dp/B009C6TMAM
Edit: apparently they make biodegradable balloons? http://www.amazon.com/Biodegradable-Water-Balloons-100-pack/dp/B0015VM60U
Sorry to burst your beach ball but a 12' beach ball doesnt weigh 12 lbs. I'm assuming you saw this "12 ft beach ball" on amazon since in the specs it says it weighs 12.9 lbs. After looking at the reviews it seems like that ball actually has a 7-8 ft diameter, and the 12 ft mentioned is really just half the circumference.
The description even says 12 ft measured from pole to pole and theres a pic showing how it was measured.
We do Huguenot Bridge to Pony Pasture regularly. Takes anywhere from 2.5 - 4 hours or so depending on water level. Just have to get out at Z-Dam. Also, we've been using this tube and its great, esp for $20

I would have loved to videotape this one when I was younger. Or tomorrow. Whatever.

Nice! We're going to have so much fun. Get ready to ride the bull. Seriously though, I think we're going to get it.
So here’s the amazon listing check it out
Looks like it is measuring around the circumference - which in my opinion makes “pole to pole” misleading....
I've been thinking about this for a little now and this is probably how I'd approach it:
I'd get a single piece of pipe however tall you want it. The first types that come to mind are galvanized fence posts, galvanized conduit or even metal plumbing pipes. I would then use something like a 5 gallon bucket filled with cement and place the pipe in the center of it so it could cure it set up. Kind like this but as tall as you'd want it. Then I would grab something similar to this that would become the mount for each target. I would use a thumb screw and a nut through the opening so you could slide them up and down as you wish. Then grab some sort of tubing or pipe to slide over the square ends. I would make these sections about 1/4-1/3 of the length of each target then slide something like a pool noodle or pipe insulation the remaining 3/4-2/3 to be the actual contact area. It makes sense in my head so hopefully this can help.

Not really. But hopefully it made you laugh.
One thing I saw recommended and was really glad we did was to get one of these inflatable baby pools and use it as a place to set baby down for a nap without them getting all sandy or being able to crawl away. Obviously it doesn’t work for an older baby but at least until their walking.
I’ve also seen people use them as an actual pool. Like putting some water inside while at the beach...but to me that kind of defeats the purpose of the beach. I liked it a lot as a portable “bed” though.
I’d also bring an umbrella for sun.
Pool noodles - $3.59 with free shipping.
I don't know how widely available they are in stores, especially versus the regular kind, but it looks like biodegradable water balloons are now a thing.

cut the foam to the width of your cars roof, then lay your yak upside down on top of them, run one strap over the front just behind your windshield and one over the back just in front of your rear window... when you tighten them they do not need to be so tight that it deforms the shape of your hull, just tight enough to keep it from sliding off... it would also be a good idea to tie a chord from the front of the kayak to your front bumper and also one from the rear of the kayak to your rear bumper
I just got this yesterday from amazon! I cant wait to float the river this weekend!!

Camo-netting makes great shade and lets most of the wind blow through, so you're much less likely to suffer grommet failure and flapping tarp.
Attach it to something very solid on your vehicle and use something to protect your vehicle's finish if the ropes touch it (or might touch it). Some of the guys in our camp wrap the ropes in pool noodles for that reason.
mudclub is right. Don't waste valuable shade by putting a yurt under it.

Saving up to buy a river raft so I can get out there and float this year! The one I used last year had multiple holes in it so we set her afire and let her float away.

Toadlets are so cute.
There are little mesh ramp animal-saver-things for sale (here's one on amazon) that let any small critters self-rescue when they fall in a steep-sided pool or water feature.
You're welcome.

Edit: link
This is what we use have not had a Problem yet. The Head rest and Cup holders make it worth it. 4 rafts & Cooler $99.99 Those large ones are nice but you will get stuck in a few places and if you head into a tree your screwed. use the rope that comes with to tie them together also This is the best cooler raft we found the sevylor one is cheap, the lazy river one was too small for our cooler.
I’m glad you’d rather see the little froggies go free than drown from exhaustion! Poor froggies... 🐸
Here is a link to give you an idea. Enjoy your pool! I’m SO JEALOUS...

Mesh seat, 2 drink holders and a HEADREST!
They can’t climb the stairs the ramps quite large and stops anything from ending up at the bottomramp
cheapest way? make your own makeshift softracks for cheap. go to walmart, or kmart, or wherever and get a pool noodle and a couple of racheting tie downs. cut the pool noodle in half, and put the two pieces in between the board and your roof. put the tie-downs over the board and through the passenger compartment and cinch them down.
Oh boy a new nightmare for my northeast mind to torture me with. Worse we get in the pool is bunnies so I bought this. Recently watched a chipmunk dive in on purpose to escape my path. He swam directly to this thing and scattered out haha

As someone who lives in the UK, I don't enjoy the same ironclad protections that prevent the 3 letter agencies from abusing national secruity letters to spy on US citizens.
All the patriotic bullshit aside, I believe Russia would leverage/extort a private company in their jurisdiction if they thought the end result was in their national interest. I also believe the US would do exactly the same.
But I seriously doubt that the security services of either country would target a typical SMB. Lets say the American company who manufactures pool noodles uses Kaspersky. The risk of the FSK using Kaspersky to compromise their network is close to 0.
For "normal" companies, Kaspersky is a solid AV choice...you could do a lot worse. It's decent at stopping malware threats in the real world and it's central management is not horrible. That's better than most AV solutions.
If you are in that super rare breed of company that'd be an interest to a foreign nation state, then sure following this DoD advice totally makes sense.
Are your plants in bloom? I find that bees get a little drunk when they've been sucking down pollen. I put a froglog in my pool and at least it gives anything that falls in a fighting chance. Sometimes bees can even get to it if I don't scoop them out in time, which I also do when it's blooming time.
Wrong link. Sorry.

If you've got no boat, go to the bridge at Woodland while the tide is either going in or out- not slack tide. You can get about a 1/4 bushel in a couple hours with 15 or 20 pots. I would suggest going early though as it gets crowded sometimes. Once the tide is slack, you have to wait. Poor results...
If you have a boat, and MD isn't an option, the creeks around Woodland are good, closer to the river. Try and go to about 7 feet of water (if you can) in this nasty ass heat. The crabs will be lower because there's a good amount of dissolved oxygen the colder the water gets and also because they won't be in water that's too warm. The Appoquinimink is good too.
One thing you need to know if you're in a boat though is that your floats need to be as small as possible. Delaware River tributaries have a NASTY tidal flow compared to MD, and if you have milk bottles for floats, it will pull trap doors shut or drag nets. The cheapest thing to do is to go to Walmart or the dollar store and buy noodle floats. Then cut them down to like 6 inch sections to use as floats. It's ridiculously cheap compared to using store bought floats, they last a long time, and you have less drag.
Happy hunting, and do try and post your results.
