First off, congrats on the new car and congrats on taking pride in keeping your vehicles looking nice!

This is a good start I think. I use a lot of the same products. Your wash method seems good. As others have said, you may consider doing the wash using the "Gary Dean Method" as it's called. Just do a search on YouTube for it. Basically, you use several microfiber towels to wash with ONR instead of a wash mitt. This keeps your wash bucket from getting contaminated at all. In fact, I only use one bucket with this method. Very easy, especially in the winter time. For a traditional wash with a hose I still obviously recommend using two buckets and grit guards.

You may not even have to presoak the car depending on how dirty it is. If it is just a light layer of dust, you can get by without presoaking. If it is heavily soiled, caked on road salt, dirt, grime, then yes definitely spray it off first to remove as much contamination as possible.

As for sealant, I always recommend going with a synthetic sealant and not a wax. 845 is very good, but I actually use the Meguiar's M21 on my cars. It lasts about 6 months on my daily drivers. I've heard great things about Jescar Powerlock, but haven't used it so I can't vouch for it personally. My bottle of M21 has lasted over a year so far and I use it regularly on two cars.

The trick is to apply sealant and wax very thin. Just 2 or 3 pea sized drops on an applicator pad and gently rub onto the surface to make a slight uniform haze on the paint. Wait 10-15 minutes, use your fingertip to swipe off a tiny portion and if it comes off cleanly without streaking, then you know its time to remove, if not wait another 5 minutes. Buff off with a microfiber and that's it. Less is more.

As for APC, I use Simple Green all the time. I use it around the house, to clean the garage, my carpets, everything. It's pretty versatile and gentle. I dilute it 10:1 for vehicle interiors. It doesn't need to be very strong unless your vehicle is totally filthy. You can use it to clean tires and rims as well, just dilute it about 3:1 (3 parts water to 1 part concentrate). Personally, for exterior parts of my car I switched to LA's Totally Awesome from the dollar store since it's so ridiculously cheap and I can burn through tons of product and not cry about spending too much. But again, a gallon of Simple Green diluted will go a LOOOONG way. For the engine bay, you might want to use it 1:1 or even straight. It's pretty gentle stuff, so depending on how bad the engine bay is, you might just want to go all out on it. Just make sure you have a ready source of water because you will definitely want to rinse the APC off.

Since you said you don't have access to water, I'd suggest getting a pump sprayer. I use that during the winter in my garage to presoak my car before doing an ONR wash. You can also use it to rinse off APC on your tires/rims, and under the hood. These Smith sprayers are fantastic. Just use the high volume fan nozzle to rinse things off. There are many many options for housing a salamander. Nobody knows has a better internet presence for keeping them then the folks at caudata.org as mentioned by u/ye_ol_chuckaboo below. They have a helpful forum where you can get info advice and answers to questions. they also have care-sheets. So i suggest you spend soem time looking there.

Some simple ideas would start with something like:

go get a 40 gallon aquarium or larger. or 3 - 4 foot plastic storage box or like this

whatever you use it will need a lid to keep things out and the salamander inside but it must allow air to pass through

the main thing here is that it doesnt need to be more than 15 inches tall but should have as much surface area (footprint) as possible. A good minimum is about 4 - 4.5 square feet. or anything at or above the "40 gallon size " on the standard US tank sizes chart here

buy some organic untreated (chemical free, fertilizer free) topsoil from a garden store.

plan to use at least 6 - 8 inches of soil at the bottom

order several cork bark hides like this logs or half logs will be good to partially bury and to keep on the surface so the animal can choose a hide.

get a *large* smooth sided glass ceramic water bowl like this or like this

use only smooth objects stones, smooth glass ceramic, plastic. no gravel no sharp rocks no sharp wood.

Moss and plants can help add humidity and attractiveness.

1. Iron X is a completely different product than Sonax. Iron X is for decontamination and is more for your paint where as Sonax is an actual cleaner that is designed to work on your wheels.

I bought a solar shower like this for my first year. I never used it. All the girls in my camp would use up all the water before I got a chance. I don't really like it anyway. It's fucking heavy when it's full and a bitch to carry, especially if you're far from water. I wouldn't recommend it.

I've seen some people hook up showers like mine in little tents like this, which is probably nice for privacy's sake, but if you're gonna spend all that money, you may as well just buy a shower pass and use the showers at Roo.

Someone at our camp bought a garden sprayer like this, which I thought was genius. It works great, you just need a buddy to spray you down.

In all honesty, I just use water jugs and pour them over my head in the mornings. Two gallons is exactly how much I need and it's simple and cheap. Plus, you never really want hot water anyway. It's so fucking hot out all the time that cold/room temperature water feels fucking great.

Using a pre-emergent isn't a must but it makes it easier on you through the growing season since you won't have to worry about weeds as much. Celcius can take care of any weeds you have now.

You would have to purchase your own sprayer. Look on Amazon and see what options are available. I like this one because it's easiest to use.

This worked amazing for me, I used I believe 1oz in a 2 gallon tank sprayer and worked amazing, only $10 for 8oz ould definitely buy again. Good luck.

My favorite scent by Chemical Guys is their Mr. Pink soap. Smells like bubblegum. Detailer's Pro line makes something called Xtreme Foam that smells like spearmint gum and is very great - but it's kind of pricey to me.

I use this foam gun and I'm very happy with it. The sprayer is extremely high quality and I find that it definitely helps in my wash process - plus it's fun to use! The canister detaches from the sprayer easily. It also makes no noise - I think pressure washers can be kind of noisy if that has any bearing on your decision. Anyway, if you do go another route and put another package together be sure to post it!

I'd get a fine grade nanoskin mitt or something similar for decon. Maybe a foam gun or foam lance and some soap. Might want to grab an APC for interior cleaning, although I think you can dilute ONR down as an APC... I really like Optimum APC though, very safe and effective.

You fill it with just water and soak the ceiling with it. It absorbs the water pretty quickly. So you really can start scraping within 3-5 minutesyou may need to spray it a couple times and spray as you scrape. If you keep it moist, it comes off pretty easy unless it has a coating. Then you can use a scraper or they make these giant ceiling Sanders with vacuum attachments that makes clean up way easier.

I'd take the soft top off the Jeep and spray it with the dye.

I'd do a couple coats. I'd start off with the dye being super concentrated, then add making the mix more concentrated with every coat until I had the mixture I wanted.

Tape and plastic is your best friend to not dye the windows.

an auto dishwasher is actually more water-efficient than handwashing if you have at least a half a load. If you want to be super water-efficient you can get one of those hand sprayers that mobile car detailers who do rinseless washes in water-restricted areas use. Just fill something like this with tap water or better yet, distilled or de-ionized (to prevent spotting) and rinse away.

I prefer to have a devoted tap for RO, rather than hooking it up to a pre-existing faucet. For this installation method, I tap a cold water line with a saddle valve. The linked kit provides plenty of tubing to run to the installation site. I mounted the RO/DI inside my bathroom sink cabinet. This allows me to fill my sprayer in the bathtub, so I don't have to worry about it flooding if I lose track of it. Doesn't hurt to install a backflush (consider that picture a 'blueprint'). THIS kit has the two 'Y's and 2 ball valves you'd need. One ball valve to control flow into the RO/DI (effectively your ON/OFF switch); 2 'Y's and a ball valve to plumb a backflush in at your flow restrictor.

$81 for the RO/DI and associated plumbing to build a devoted fill station. A single light costs more than that. Your water bill will go up, but you don't have to break the bank to have RO/DI water on tap in your home. It's easy. It's cheap. It has a host of benefits. I don't see why more people don't do it.

I've got the 'ON/OFF' ball valve right above my bathroom sink. When I need to make water, I run my waste line down the bathtub drain, put the clean line into my sprayer, and open the ball valve. Nice and simple. No hassles.

Edit: If you don't already have them, you'll want a drill and ~1/2" drill bit to run holes in your wall/bathroom cabinet for your water lines. Maybe brings you over $100, if you don't already have those tools.

I have two super foamers, one I use for a presoak, the other I use for a SiO2 shampoo like Hydrofoam.

I have two of the double sprayers, one for QD and the other for APC. I haven't experienced any leaking and I've had all four for almost a year. They are pricey, but are great pieces of equipment IME. I've dropped them a bunch of times too and they haven't broken or chipped in anyway.

Some are poorly designed and don't last long, but I've had great luck with this one by Smith that's sold on Amazon.

For all of that through TrueGreen or A+ it's going to be very pricey...worked at both slave labor businesses years ago lol

I know this sounds like a lot, but once you get everything bought, set up, and ready to go....it will only add an extra 20-25 mins of yards work per month.

Fertilize once a month...spray weeds every 14 days or what's recommended in directions...and seed in the Fall or early Spring until bare spots fill in. And don't spray weed killer on new grass seed!!

Pros: Very portable, I can now just get a pail of water and hose off my vehicle.

Cons: Not a pressure washer, more like a hard-hitting hose. Battery only lasts about 20 mins but that is more than enough to soak and remove heavy dirt.


To spray ONR, I use this Ohuhu Garden pump: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TV3JC76. I love it, one to two full pump is enough to cover our grand cherokee depending on how much I want to soak it. It also has dual nozzle option that covers a wider area.

Yes, I realize this says it's for carpets and upholstery. The aerosol spray states "fabric and upholstery", they seem to be the same or very similar with different marketing techniques... We use it on everything in my house. Carpets and upholstery (duh...) sheets and other linens except those for the kitchen or cleaning, clothing - especially my husband's shirts and my white silk skirts, fabric handbags and handbag interiors. I dilute in the tank of a high volume low pressure sprayer and just throw on a respirator, nitrile gloves with a cuff - either reusable or disposable-, and spray in my garage whenever I need something treated. It's fast, incredibly cheap and works very very well.

I had this problem as well. I generally use ONR as other users have suggested, provided that my car isn't too dirty.

You may also want to look into a pesticide sprayer (the kind that you pump by hand to pressurize). I have one that holds two US gallons and it is pretty helpful for cleaning/rinsing wheels, engine bays, and undercarriages. It's also useful for spraying diluted APC or waterless wash in different applications.

It's possible to wash the entire car by hand using the two-bucket method while using the sprayer to rinse, but you essentially have to go one panel at a time and you'll probably have to refill the sprayer at least once.

Honestly I would toss all plants, bleach the fuck out of the room with a sprayer, then spray the pyrethium over EVERYTHING and then new plants water with SM-90 and do a pyrth spray once every 10 days for 30 days. After 30 days you should be ready to flip to 12/12 and watch CLOSELY for little white specs under the leafs.

If you see mites after buds have formed DO NOT use the pyrth - you can use the SM-
90 safely. But if you do everything right you shouldn't see mites once you bloom

I use something like this to give it a good spray down any time it's subjected to salt. It's not as good as actually cleaning it, but certainly better than nothing.

Assemble the brand new never used weed sprayer, but instead of using the wand, splice in a sink sprayer.

Heat water on the stove to about 110 °F, pour it in the sprayer and pump it up. You will probably want a wash cloth for this and a draft free environment. Maybe a second bucket of warm water to wash with, leaving you most of the spray to rinse off with, but it's optional.

You need to take a navy shower with this rig, but it will get you clean.

If you use this in the cabin's shower stall you'll have to get some RV antifreeze to pour into the plumbing traps before you leave.

You can try the garlic spray, It's as organic as it gets.

You just have to get accustomed to the smell. Some people love the smell though.

It works ok but I needed to use a lot of soap to get it to foam well and even then it was kinda watery foam. But if you only have a garden hose I would recommend something like this.

The Gilmour Foamaster II is probably what you're looking. I bought a Chinese knock off of Amazon (Canada) for a fraction of the cost of the Gilmour with great success! While you're not going to get the same level of foam as you would with a pressure washer foam cannon, this will do the job and provide you enough lubricity for your washing medium to glide across your paint!

I don't know how well you would do with a pumping motion, but something like a Misto sprayer might also do the trick. I guess you could just wipe things down with a soaked towel while you work on a solution, but that would take too much time for routine use I think.

It works well, I usually will spray the bike, then apply a bike cleaning soap like the one white lightning makes, scrub the bike with a something like the pedros wash kit that they give away like candy, then rinse again.

I use them in my carpet cleaning biz. I'm sure they'll work great for staining a fence. Spray a bit, then back roll it and move on to the next few pickets.

I got this one it's more expensive but should be the same mechanically. I use a 1700PSI Greenworks pressure washer and get great results http://imgur.com/a/sCGn4 like others have said just adjust the knobs and make sure it is assembled correctly and that you are using the right adapters (if needed). also I use McGuire's gold class soap, the soap could be your problem.

Thanks, but that's what's already in the post. They would buy a soap in a bottle that sprays from the hose. It wasn't that big but a bottle would clean two dumpsters and the ground around it.

This is the one I use. It hasn't done me wrong yet. Good for quick washes or washing before a good detail. I just use straight car soap into it and you can adjust the mixture.

Viton seals work well against corrosive chemicals that tend to eat seals and gaskets. If you're a hobbyist, don't store chemicals in your sprayer for a long time. Transfer extra product to a cheap bottle that you've labeled. Flush the sprayer with clean water, let it drain out and dry. In the past we've used the champion one for several years with out issue. Now we've switched to a on-demand system for more high volume usage.

This is an unpopular opinion here, but generally don't by equipment from fancy hobby car wash suppliers, they're generally over priced rebranded stuff. It's not like there's a factory in China that makes brushes/towels/etc. just for youtube car washer celebs.

Just use it as a presoak as you do the wheels, for instance. Then rinse and commence with the normal 2 bucket method. Any chance to minimize rubbing dirt around with a mitt is worth it.

I go out to the side walk or the back or the garage of the apartment, if it's a complex, with a bucket of soapy water, a sponge, a toothbrush, and a small insecticide sprayer, like this.

Mix roughly 60% baby powder to 40% isopropyl alcohol in a big spray bottle. The alcohol will evaporate leaving the baby powder coating.
Wash off with water after scanning.
Otherwise you can use an off the shelf spray like this.

I have quite a process now for this car.

I use the 2 bucket method with the following:

1. Put Grit Guard in one bucket, fill that with just water
   
2. Put soap / water in other bucket (mixture ratio depends on what kind of soap you have)
   
3. Rinse the car off with the hose
   
4. Use the Cleaning Sprayer to get the first layer of dirt off
   
5. Rinse the car off
   
6. Take the wash mitt, dunk in water bucket and scrub on the grit guard, then ring out
   
7. Dunk wash mitt in soap bucket, lather it up
   
8. Wash one panel of the car in one direction with the wash mitt
   
9. Hose down that panel of the car
   
10. Repeat steps 6-9 for each panel of the car
    
11. Once car is washed, use the cleaning sprayer all over the car one last time
    
12. Rinse entire car
    
13. Take microfiber cloth and carefully dry each panel with a different cloth (sometimes 2), going in one direction

  At first this took me almost 2 hours to wash my car, but after doing it every other week I'm now down to only an hour. It's extreme but it's detailed and allows me to also check if there are any rock chips, which I can then cover with some touch up paint.
  
  
  
  
  

I've thought about this for sometime because i want to build out a van so i can do ski touring, and theirs not always a shower available. Anyways, I've thought maybe a 5 gallon pot with a thermometer, being heated on a burner might work. I don't think it would take long to heat up considering that it only needs to be heated to 39C / 102F or so. You could at this point poor that into a pump sprayer, or use a portable shower head and put the pump right into the pot. As to how to do it in the van, i've thought maybe if you sat on a small bench in a portable plastic tub, or built your own wooden tub to your own dimensions. Then just either pour out the water, or pour into a greywater jug. If you built your own tub, you could even install a little drain into it with a rubber stopper.

It can be a handheld sprayer. But, the cheapest sprayers will just have the solution come out in a cone shape, and you won't get even coverage. Just make sure It comes with multiple spraying tips. Specifically you want to use a fan tip to get even coverage.

I asked, and this is what we have. There's apparently a guide included about what dilutions to use for various pests and applications. He thinks he uses the second lowest concentration (second highest dilution).

You'd also need a sprayer. We have one of the hand pump sprayers. He thinks this is the one. He sometimes also uses a paintbrush for application around windows.

So, rather than rinse, wipe it down with a sponge (car wash type works well), when you do wash rinse with very low pressure (I use a garden sprayer).

Obviously you can't do much about riding in wet weather (not riding isn't a good alternative in my books), but make sure the bike doesn't sit wet afterwards.

I'm currently using the Ryobi 1,600-PSI 1.2-GPM Electric Pressure Washer. It comes with three swappable nozzles and also fits my MTM Hydro Original Professional Foam Lance.

That's what I do, even with access to a hose, because it's too cold to use the hose about half the year. Get some Optimum no-rinse, and a garden sprayer and use in conjunction with a two-bucket wash or just one bucket and ton of microfiber towels. There's no foam, but it has the same effect.

So a lot of people are suggesting the Gilmour nozzle. Should I just pay another $30-40 for this foam gun with the same pistol nozzle? What's the advantages of having a foam gun? I just bought a Ryobi pressure washer this week. I bought this one. Yes, the one I bought will clean concrete and decks, not sure about the one you posted though. Here is the front walk at my house midway through using the pressure washer, without any detergent.

I bought this foam cannon to go with it. I read after the fact on here that people recommend going with the lower pressure version of it for a low-pressure electric pressure washer. However, it still made pretty good foam! I used CG Honeydew, 5oz to make that foam.

I don't own a PC, so I can't comment. I've got a RUPES 21 and highly recommend it, but it's pricey.

I have been washing my truck with the 2 bucket method. I just watched a junkman video on his 2 bucket method, and he recommends using a foam cannon to loosen and remove most of the dirt and grime. Do the foam cannons really make a difference? I found this one online.

Another question - Can someone critique my overall process for paint correction? I have a griots garage DA, have 2 orange pads and 2 white pads, meg's ultimate compound and meg's 205 polish, as well as menzerna sealant.

I plan on washing the car w/ 2 bucket method (I use chemical guy's Mr. Pink), claying the car using Mr. Pink soap + water, then rinsing the car and dry with a waffle weave towel.

Then I plan to try to polish a section (white pad and polish) and wipe it down with isopropanol and a MF towel. Which dilution ratio should I use, 10% or 50% IPA/water? If I need a stronger cut, I will move onto compound (orange pad and ultimate compound), and once again wipe down with isopropanol and MF towel. Then follow up with polish again.

Then I want to apply a sealant, and I plan on using menzerna powerlock with a foam applicator (one of these guys) and apply a thin coat and let it settle overnight. Does this sound reasonable?

It is safe for pets and kids once its dry (its only wet as long as water takes to dry)
Its easy to use you mix it and some water in a sprayer the hit around your house 2ft out and 2 ft up to make a "wall" of protection. hit around doors, windows, and pipes. I found that the bugs inside your home will die off fairly fast on their own for the most part. so you dont really have to spray inside unless you have a specific trouble spot. The Bugs in side your home will die off on their own, like spiders die off due to lack of new food. and any other bugs would only be around cause you are leaving food around for them to get at clean your house/check your food storage.

and to keep you protected some eye protection, some rubber gloves for mixing and spraying and some long pants and long sleeve shirt.
Also for pest control you should make sure all shrubs and trees are trimmed away from touching your house as they can allow for paths beyond your "wall"


on your roaches you need to id to see if they are german roaches the small ones that scamper on the kitchen counter when you turn the light on) are resistant to insecticides. You will want to use a high quality roach bait like Invict , Maxforce Select, Maxforce Magnum, or Advion Roach Bait and kill out the population with the bait.

I was using THIS before I decided to get one for the pressure washer. It works pretty decent, but it's nowhere near as good as one that hooks to a pressure washer.

This thing has saved me. I fill it up, set a chair next to the tent, pump a few times, throw on some tunes and water away. Might take a bit longer, but I find it saves my back pain !

Everything is copacetic so far. I can’t believe the difference spraying the water into the soil vs hand pouring the water makes. I knew people sprayed but I thought it was just extra money out the window. Picked up a 1 gal Chapin sprayer from Home Depot for $9 about 3 weeks ago and the life in the soil started going crazy. Suddenly I got roots growing under my mulch layer and mushrooms popping out randomly.

TLDR get a sprayer that shit works wonders.

Pick up one of these suckers.

Buy a large bag of table salt, put your biggest pot on the stove, bring it to the boil. Once boiling, start adding the salt bit at a time until the water won't hold any more salt. Let it cool (takes quite a while), then load it into the pressure sprayer; spray them weeks. On a hot day if you do it in the morning they'll be dead by sundown.

If you are planning to detail for the long term, I'd suggest investing in some bulk / concentrated products rather than the consumer-grade & Ultimate Meguiar's line.

I've tried to break down the supplies I'd suggest. Of course, don't just throw out your existing supplies. Use them up and then get the concentrates / bulk.
