I initially think of detoxification in Floxies nothing. But everyone has to know that for themselves. I would rather help him to do his own detoxification better by eg. Milk thistle for liver, goldenrod, stinging nettle and dandelion for lymph and kidneys. Later, if you are much more stable, you can start with further detoxification. But that's just my opinion from the experience here and everyone has to decide for themselves! Please take care with all products that they are without additives, fillers etc. These include magnesium stearate, titanium oxide, silicon dioxide, all E's, magnesium salts of fatty acids. Soy and maize are genetically engineered. The NEM listed below (supplements) do not start all at once, but start with a base. The e.g. is my own plan. The base consists of magnesium malate and / or glycinate, depending on the blood picture, dolomite powder for natural calcium for 4 weeks), trace minerals, milk thistle, selenium as SODIUM selenite and the good Darmbaktieren. Beware of mercury pollution due to amalgam fillings or mercury / heavy metal poisoning. Sodium selenite combines with mercury to form undeliverable complexes. If you want to play it safe, you can test heavy metals with the HP or environmental doctor. Selenium, however, still needs our thyroid glands. You can try to get as much food as you can. Coconuts and Brazil nuts contain relatively much selenium, but not enough to remedy a deficiency. I'm sorry you're having such a tough time! Learning about eating well can be really overwhelming. I've struggled with gaining weight at times too, so I can relate. I agree with some of the recommendations that have been posted so far (more frequent small meals, grains, bars, multivitamins).

My suggestions:

  • Try to consume high-calorie foods. IMO, the most convenient sources of calories are foods like bananas (a fast way to get 100 kcal), avocados (if you can afford them, lol), dried fruit, dark chocolate - 250 kcal per serving, 225 kcal per serving, granola, rice, quinoa, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. If you can find a trail mix with nuts, dried fruit, and dark chocolate, that’s a great way to get in some calories!

  • Eat healthy fats! Good sources of calories include nuts (especially almonds, macadamia nuts, and walnuts), nut butters (peanut butter, almond butter, etc.), and oils (olive oil, coconut oil). Honestly, one thing I've done before is to buy some coconut oil and eat a spoonful at a time (15ml has 123 kcal!). It doesn't taste like anything, so it's easy to eat, and it's a super-fast way to get calories.

  • You mentioned trying but not being able to tolerate Ensure. I highly recommend other forms of liquid calories, such as protein shakes or pre-made smoothies. These are some I like:
    • Naked Juice smoothies - these contain good-for-you ingredients, and some of them are good sources of protein, too. They're high in sugar, but all of the sugar comes from the fruit (plus it sounds like you need sugar).
    • Innocent smoothies
    • Orgain protein shakes: These are pre-made (ready to drink) and have 140 kcal + 20g of protein. You can also get Orgain in powder form, which is probably more cost-effective, but less convenient.
    • Sunwarrior rice protein powder is dairy-free and vegan. It has less calories than the Orgain (80 kcal + 16g of protein per serving), but it's less expensive.
    • If you decide to try a protein powder, I recommend getting a shaker bottle like this one - they make it so much easier to mix up protein shakes.

  • Definitely try some protein/snack bars, as /u/allycat-alison mentioned. I like Larabars, Luna/Clif bars, and Kind bars.

  • Your energy is probably low for many reasons (not sleeping because of stress, feeling depressed, not eating enough/low blood sugar) - another reason may be having low iron. You could try an iron supplement and see if that helps. Another potential source of low energy is depleted B vitamins, so a B-complex supplement could also be beneficial. This is a multivitamin I found that’s a good source of B vitamins, vitamin D (also related to energy), AND iron. It also contains vitamin C, which helps your body absorb the iron.

  • I know you said you didn’t want your family to find out (and unfortunately, keeping all of this to yourself is even more stressful!). I'm not going to advise you to talk to them, because I don’t know your situation. BUT, your family shouldn't get suspicious if they were to find out you had a physical - a physical is a standard thing that everyone should have regularly, IMO. I think it would be really helpful for you to have one, because your doctor can order bloodwork (again, totally standard/understandable/nothing that should raise eyebrows) and find out if there's anything contributing to your situation, like anemia or low thyroid function.

  • Does your uni have a student health center/offer counseling? I'm in the U.S., and many here do. It's usually included in your tuition, and it's anonymous, so no one would have to know. I would go by your health center and see if they have any nutrition and/or counseling services, because it sounds like you don’t have anyone to talk to, and you should!!

  • Lastly, remember that tobacco is proven to reduce appetite, so if you can, please try to take your friends' help with quitting tobacco. You could also try cessation products like nicotine gum, lozenges, or the patch. Did marijuana not help your appetite? I almost always get the munchies!

Hi there Mr. Wiz! Any ROA will give you the “symptoms” after it’s built up enough in your system during your session. Last night I did more lines than I usually do. If my tweaker ass can remember to use my little fan, I don’t get that hot. Face is still oily after a certain point.

No clue, but I think the deal with smoking (at least for me), is I will just sit there and smoke and smoke and smoke and smoke. That’s where people get stuck with smoking. Plus it makes my high really raw and aggressive. Lines all day!!!

So yeah. Smoking will give you symptoms much faster because it is absorbed into your system much faster. It takes a 10+ hours for me to get to that spot with lines.

Best thing in the entire world for oily face is Dude Face Wipes - I’m super happy with mine. They have moisturizer in them and all the other crap. They smell amazing and are very handy in the summer in general. I would strongly encourage you to get them!!

Odor: Magnesium (specifically Citrate) and either Zinc or B vitamins. Magnesium will also give you the lovely benefit of substantially increasing the euphoria if you take the supplement every day. Below is what I order.

Do you mean your TSH was 80.56? Or T4 was 80.56?

TSH is Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. It is released by the pituitary gland to tell the thyroid to release more thyroid hormones. If TSH is high, that is like your pituitary glad screaming at your unresponsive thyroid, so no surprise that your thyroid hormone levels were also low. That usually indicates that you need to increase your dose.

I have Hashi's and I take 146 ish mg of NatureThroid along with Hyperbiotics PRO-15 Advanced probiotics, B-complex with coenzymes, Iron, Magnesium, Omega 3-6-9, Selenium and D3-5000IU. I have tried to reduce the number of supplements I take but they all help. I sometimes take Zinc as well. I quit coffee and take caffeine pills instead and I am (not super strictly, but working on it) gluten and soy free.

The first time I took Nature Throid after switching from generic levothyroxine all of my symptoms were about 80% GONE. We increased my dose from 1/4 grain to the current 2+1/4 grain over the course of maybe 6 months.

What really fixed things for me was going gluten and soy free and adding magnesium and selenium. The selenium reduced my antibodies from nearly 500 to 100 in six months. That alone made a huge difference. And going gluten/soy free allowed me to lose 20 lbs in a month and then maintain it pretty easily just logging my calories.

Occasionally, due to poor planning, I eat regular bread or some pizza and I am sapped of energy and achy for a week afterwards. I'm working on getting into the habit of always having gluten free options on hand. But generally speaking, I feel better than I've felt my entire life.

I've never heard of having an immune response to desiccated thyroid. I've done very well on Nature Throid. You may want to get labs done every 6 weeks to check your levels and adjust your dose as needed.

I haven’t needed meds in a long time, like years. I saw a bunch of neurologists and tried a bunch of meds, a lot of them gave me rebound headaches. But almost all pharmaceuticals are bound with fluoride, which bonds to magnesium in your body and increases your deficiency. In the end I was told, “oh it’s just hormonal, take pain relief meds and stay in the dark if you can.”

They did their best, but no one understood the real reason for the headaches, hence they had no ability to fix the actual problem, which was nutritional.

I buy mag chloride and electrolytes on Amazon usually. They seem to have the best prices. As long as I keep my insulin stable and take my electrolytes, I have no headaches at all, and if I feel one coming on during PMS or during high stress, I just take extra, nbd. Mag chloride completely stops my migraines in about 20 minutes, like a miracle.

Incase you haven't found the answer yet, yes supplements will help with Keto Flue. Keto Flu is essentially from the imbalance and loss of electrolytes in your body. As your body transitions to fat as its energy source it drains the glycogen in your muscles... which in turns flushs a lot of water out of your system. This is why you have to keep up on the increased water intake and up the electrolytes - particularly Sodium Potassium and Magnesium.

Lots of the things I have been eating intentionally have higher sodium in them like beef jerky and cured deli meats etc so that helped. Add extra salt to your meals and if need be straight to some water throughout the day. Another popular remedy is Bone Broth or Bullion Cubes. Apparently drinking some pickle juice helps quickly if you are feeling symptoms as well.

Get some of the Lite Salt it will help with the Potassium which is harder to get especially from supplements as they are limited to 99mg per serving it seems. I chose to go with this along with a 1 a day Vitamin. You are having to increase these nutrient levels up above your former daily requirements... there are good youtube guides on the specific amounts you should aim for.

This may be controversial but if your macros are a little off as long as you are staying under the 20 net carbs you should be fine. Also depends on what your goals are. To add more fat include more bacon in your meals. Wrap other protein or veggies in it, have it as a side, crisp it up and use it as chips with guac :D Eating Avocados/Guac helps. Nuts/Seeds as snacks again are fantastic but careful as they are super calorie dense. When you cook dont be afraid to sop up extra oil and butter onto your plate. Heavy Creamer for coffee/tea/itself is useful.

Oh hey, something I can speak to! Got my RNY in 2010, so just about as long ago as you. Current 35.5 weeks. My pouch has stretched and I'm still overweight, but like you, still eat about half a restaurant portion.

I'm pretty chronically anemic and will frequently show up as D-deficient. Since getting pregnant, I've been taking: prenatals, one 65mg iron + C (I seriously recommend this one because it's a big dose, and it doesn't make me sick like a lot of the others), 1 vitamin D, 1 B12. Pregnancy has made me more religious about taking those daily, and I think with the addition of the prenatal on top of my old routine, everything's great now with my levels.

I have a pretty sensitive stomach. Too much sugar makes me throw up and then fall asleep. Misery. Ftr, if that's an issue for you, let your doctor know. The glucose drink that they give pregnant women to diagnose GD makes most women pretty nauseated, but with GB, I sincerely doubt you'll be able to do it at all. I skipped it and had to do regular 4x daily diabetic finger sticks instead.

Anyway, I've thrown up maybe five times throughout pregnancy. A few times early thanks to morning sickness. And a couple times later thanks to baby getting big and moving in on my stomach. Sometimes I'll eat a reasonably sized portion, and then the baby shifts and suddenly my stomach is smaller and overfilled and I feel like throwing up. At times it can feel like the post-surgery pouch all over again. My morning sickness mostly came in the form of nausea that didn't let me eat. I ate very little during my first trimester because I just couldn't. The thought of eating made me sick. I had almost no energy, partially from the usual first trimester "you're literally burning all your calories to build a new brain" exhaustion, and partially because I was an overweight woman eating like 500 calories a day. I lost 20 pounds. My doctors were completely not worried about it because as long as you're not underweight, the baby takes what they need. At 35 weeks, I've gained about 18 pounds of that back, putting me at -2 pounds since my pregnancy test. My morning sickness started around 7-8 weeks and lasted until 14-15. I'd say that if you can avoid vacations in the first trimester, do so. Even if not for the morning sickness, then for the sheer exhaustion.

Haha! Nahhh not really any different side effects compared to subutex. Perhaps some more anxiety until they upped my dose but that helped stabilise everything :)

Yeah most of the time I’ll put some mouthwash then plop it into a nice damp patch and it’s done in about 15. Not always as good when I’m travelling though!
But I think overall I prefer it to Subutex despite its slight downsides when I take into consideration the moral/cost aspect also.

Its all good dude, for electrolytes I like to use capsule's like these. Makes it easy and you dont have to figure out ratios on your own. You can by them seperately as Magnesium citrate, Potassium Citrate, and you can Get Sodium from kosher or Pink himilayan sea salt. Sea salt is good because it contains other trace minerals as well. For Muscle recovery Glutamine and BCAA's are amazing.

I'm no excercise elitist either. We love doing bike rides to brewerys and back. I just save the recovery until i'm done drinking. I've found that to be pretty effective.

Girl I work with. She started at 209 lbs. ALWAYS had issue with weight, she would literally starve herself and she'd actually gain weight. She informed me she had a hypo-active thyroid and was on a medication called "Synthroid" I kept it in the back in my head. Be careful, and properly check the label, when taking off-the-shelf Magnesium supplements bought here in Japan, as it tends to be mixed with calcium (in supplemental form), which could lead to some hearth/arrhythmia issues. At one stage I was getting regular, scary heart palpitations before I switched to straight chelated magnesium / magnesium citrate.
Regarding these heart palpitations, they basically never came back when I stopped / lowered my calcium supplementation and started taking vitamin K2 (which supposedly helps with calcium absorption, mitigate build up in blood [or something like that]). By the way, the best food source for K2 is, wait for it, Japanese Natto! Hahah. Or take it in supplemental form, found here:

Combination of pussy juice and spit can make handjobs feel really great, in my experience. If she can keep it nice and wet, she wouldn't have to spend as much time while she's giving you a blowjob with it actually in her mouth.

Obviously that's not ideal (although a good handjob can be really good, and sometimes I'd even take one over a blowjob, they're definitely not true replacements for each other), so you guys should do some research on jaw stretching and jaw massage techniques. It can help a lot!

a) I just don't feel hungry- That is the glory of keto. Just make sure you're eating enough protein and calories. Not feeling hungry all the time or having cravings has really helped me to reach my goals.

b) Headaches- ELECTROLYTES! Like others said below, make sure to take some magnesium supplement, one that ends in "ate" preferably, since it will work really well and not upset your tummy. I take these. It could also be a caffeine headache issue like others stated.

c) Loose skin- Exercise does help and gaining muscle, but also time. Your skin will bounce back a bit over time. It depends on your body. Some are very fortunate and their skin shrinks a lot, but others are not as fortunate. Over time, you'll know which category you land in.

I think that would get you close to 3000mg, but if you're working out a lot or consuming ANY caffeine -- I'd increase that by a lot. I consider 3000mg to be a good baseline, for all individuals. I routinely double than number to 6000mg on my extended fasts and actually feel BETTER than when I don't.

I think diet is the most important part for that based on my whirlwind research in the past few days.

I think besides eliminating gluten, dairy, sugar, and alcohol from your diet (and probably some other things, too), the next important step are these nutrients that repeatedly come up like Selenium, Zinc, etc. I found this supplement that has 4,000+ positive reviews on Amazon. I ran it through fakespot and review meta to make sure the reviews are not fake. It got an A grade, passed with flying colors. Searching through the reviews, I found a lot of references to "hashimoto's," "anxiety," and "hair" regrowth. If you search for these quoted terms, you will find the reviews yourself. It appears to be a very good supplement that really helps. I've just ordered it yesterday, so I haven't actually tried it yet.

As far as diet and explanation goes for auto immune diseases like Hashimoto's, this book came highly recommended along with this cookbook. I will probably only get the first book because I never use cookbooks. Just tell me what I can eat and I will make my own meal no problem.

I have something you absolutely need to try out and I promise you will never look back, its like a miracle for your skin in every way. I have super super sensitive skin and before accutane a few years ago I had cystic acne that thank God cleared or id be dead it was so horrible.

In the future I would buy

this magnesium and this d3+k2 instead. Cheaper and the magnesium's likely more effective.

You can take all three in the morning if you want. Magnesium isn't inherently sedating, it's relaxing.

The ones I would personally avoid is taking D or ALCAR at night, everything else is fair game.

If you wanna do D, K, ALCAR in the morning, and Mag at night, that's perfectly fine also.

Also if you're at all interested in taking a multivitamin instead, I'd recommend Legion Triumph (disclosure: I've had some input on it's design, not receiving any royalties or anything like that, though).

Take this advice with a grain of salt (or more lol). I'm only speaking from my personal experience and I'm not a medical professional

-Keep an eye on your blood pressure and keep track of highs and lows. Same for your pulse.

-Keep a journal to show your doctor next time you're there.

-If you are worried about low electrolytes supplements are an option. I take these

-Experiment with coffee. Personally a good cup of coffee can help to raise my blood pressure but it can also raise heart rate. NO ENERGY DRINKS!

-Pedialyde is better than gatorade for electrolytes because it has less sugar. Buy the single packets of it also and keep a few handy.

-Pickles are good if you need a fast sodium fix

-Try to drink 2 liters of fluid daily.

-If you get dizzy in the shower turn the water on cool and/or sit down in the shower. Do not take hot baths, use hot tubs, or use saunas

-Chug ice water if your pulse is high and won't go down. Like actually chug it. If you can't do that you can do other vasovagal maneuvers like holding your nose closed and blowing hard, splashing cold water on your face or a cold shower, or coughing. Be careful as you may go overboard and pass out

-Know your limits and don't try to push past them. Likewise if you feel like you're going to black out your instinct may be to fight it. Don't. Don't hesitate to time out of whatever you're doing to sit down.

-Stay in air conditioning as much as possible during hot or humid weather

-Eat small frequent meals instead of 3 main meals if eating large meals triggers tachycardia or bloating

-Avoid raising your arms above your head

Honestly seeing a doctor is likely only way to see a dramatic improvement. It took years of trying different med combinations before finding a pill cocktail that helped me. I didn't realize just how sick I actually was until then and looked back.

Powder, actually.

If you looking to purchase some, that product above is probably the best deal, you get a lot for your money (only need 1/4-1/2 a teaspoon to get more than enough magnesium for the day). Only downside is that is has a very chalky texture.

If the chalky texture is an issue, This product not only has no chalky texture, but it tastes great and is fizzy, so it's basically like soda. The downside though, is that you need a higher dosage. 2 teaspoons yields only 325mg magnesium, whereas the other product, even just 1/4 a teaspoon gives you 867mg of magnesium. Plus, it is a lot more expensive. But some people find the drawbacks worth it to not have the gritty chalky texture.

There is tablets yes, but I've heard several times that the powdered citrate form is the most absorbable.

Iodine alone without cofactors can make for an unpleasant experience, what you're experiencing isn't unusual.

I have a few suggestions, but I do not know what is in your chaste berry supplement and multivitamin so be sure to check them for selenium/selenomethionine so you don't take too much.

300-600mg magnesium (malate and taurate are good ones)

100mg B2 riboflavin twice a day (the yellow component of a b-complex)

500mg niacin twice a day (use inositol hexanicotinate, usually called "no flush" niacin, 500mg of true B3/niacinamide/nicotinic acid will ruin your day)

200mcg selenomethionine (be sure to check the multivitamin and other supplement for this, you don't want more than 400mcg in a day)

1,000mg Vitamin C (3 times a day)

1/2 tsp Celtic sea salt (Redmond Real salt works too)

I believe these will help you see a welcome improvement, this is a great baseline to start out with.

Sure! I use Morton Regular Salt (it’s important not to use iodized salt long-term because you can get iodide poisoning) and potassium citrate powder. I fill these vegetarian pill capsules, which are the same size as the Vitassium capsules.

The Vitassium label says in a 2 capsule serving there is 500 mg sodium and 100 mg potassium citrate. So, I figured out what quantity of my ingredients had those amounts, which broke down like this:

According to the labels of my ingredients:
.25 tsp salt = 590 mg sodium
.05 tsp potassium citrate = 100 mg potassium

Because I wanted to be able to measure out my ingredients with normal US baking utensils, I ignored the extra 90 mg/serving of sodium instead of calculating the exact amount of salt that would equal an even 500 mg in teaspoons. If you want to be more precise you can redo my math with weight instead of teaspoons, I just didn’t have a kitchen scale.

So, pretending that 590 mg is 500 mg, the milligrams of sodium/potassium per serving of my ingredients were already (roughly) the same as the milligrams per serving on the Vitassium label, meaning the serving sizes on the packages I had were (basically) the correct ratio already, but since I can’t measure .05 teaspoons of potassium with measuring cups, I multiplied both of the serving sizes until I had more convenient amounts to measure, which gave me my final ratio of 5 tsp salt : 1 tsp potassium.

So, when I make them I mix 5 tsp salt with 1 tsp potassium powder in a bowl and spoon the mixture into the capsules so the extra just falls back in the bowl. This gives me about 30 pills. But if I want to make more/less, I can use any measurement as long as it’s 5 parts salt and 1 part potassium.

These pills don’t necessarily each have exactly 500 mg sodium and 100 mg potassium in each 2 pill serving, but it’s comparable. A size 0 capsule holds 400-800 mg (.8-.16 tsp) and as I showed above, it takes .3 (.25 + .05) tsp of my ingredients to have 500/100mg. Two of my capsules would hold .16-.32 mg, which makes the serving/pill comparison pretty close.

Here is the potassium bicarbonate. You have to heat this as well to turn it to potassium carbonate.

As far as food-grade goes....I don't know that there's anything that separates food-grade from non-food-grade if it's just raw materials you're working with.

Anyway, you literally have to heat up the sodium and potassium bicarbonate to convert it to its respective carbonate molecule...people will say to put it in the oven and do it that way, but you can actually monitor the conversion if you do it on stovetop in a pot, so I prefer this method. As long as you aren't heating it to like 800 degrees, it should be safe to do (super heat it, and it can release not-so-great gases that are not-so-great to the human body. Your stove cannot heat it to this 'dangerous' temperature). When it gets hot, you'll start to see these tiny little volcano/geyers popping up in the powder. This is the release of gas as its converted to sodium or potassium carbonate. Stir it when you see that, and you'll notice the consistency of the powder get much finer.

It's gonna look like you're cooking crack, but don't sweat it.

When the bubbles stop, let it cool, and store it in a container (I use mason jars). Then I combine them based on weight percentage (1%) relative to the weight of the flour (I generally do 300grams of flour for 2 people).

When I say 40% hydration, I'm literally weighing the water to 40% of the weight of the flour. So i'm not really going by volume.


For this ramen, I braised the chashu in mirin, soy sauce (I used usukushi soy sauce, which is lighter in color and saltier), and water. But I normally do mirin, soy sauce, water, a slice of ginger, white part of a green onion, a smashed clove of garlic, and maybe 1/4 cup of sugar. I'll do it for 2 hours on stovetop in a pot, or you could do it in the oven for 4 hours at like 225 degrees, give or take.

Did selenium alone help your hypothyroid and/or raise your T4?

I just got bloodwork done after a Rad 140 cycle that yielded no results whatsoever, either bunk or I'm a complete non-responder. Taking a break and planning a Test blast in a few months.

I had bloodwork done after the rad cycle, my HDL was crashed, was > 50 pre-Rad and 27 after (maybe there was something in the Rad?, liver AST and ALT were perfect though), LDL was about 150 before (high) and up to 171.

My thyroid is most concerning T4 at 2.9 ug/dL and Free Thyronxine Index 1.0. Lipid and thyroid bloods here.

I've been on TRT (100mg/wk) for clinically low test (150ng/dL at age 22) for a decade now. Several times over the years I've had low T4 and elevated TSH bloodwork. Most of the time when I had my TRT endo do bloods it was TSH only (No T4 or T3 panel) and they just so happened to be in range for that panel so according to them all is fine.

On an off over the years I have supplemented with a Thyroid support like this one One Body Thyroid Support, which has Iodine mcg, Selenium 200mcg, Zinc 10mg, Copper 200mcg, B12 150mcg, among other things.

I ran out of my last bottle a month or two ago and didn't think anything of it. With the above bloods just this week I've already bought more and started supplementing again. Was a support supplement ever enough for you without going on T4? Thanks man.

Late response but muscle cramps are usually from a Magnesium deficiency. I struggled with this as well until I figured out the correct amount I needed to take daily, it's different for everyone due to differences in weight, diet, age, water consumption, etc., you may just need more than you're currently taking. I take 1800mg of Magnesium Citrate per day, 600mg in the morning and 1200mg right before going to bed at night. I fill my own capsules with this bulk powder to save money but I have also used this brand of Magnesium Citrate capsules. I'm a huge guy (474 pounds) and drink 1 to 2 gallons of water a day so keep that in mind when figuring out how much you need. Magnesium does other good things for you too like improving sleep and regularity. You can also kill a muscle cramp with 500mg of Magnesium Citrate and large glass of water in about 20 minutes, works like a charm.

Yes, I will take all the information you can spare! I know so little about this and I really just want to make sure I'm being safe above all else.

This is my potassium supplement, is it okay? It gives me diarrhea as well but I didn't know if that was just to be expected and nothing to worry about. Is it okay to take this and the magnesium/calcium supplement while I look for something else or should I just hold off until I have the right thing?

Also, is there anything else that I absolutely should be putting in my body in order to not die or have any other substantial negative consequences? My current plan was just the potassium, calcium, and magnesium. If you have links to the exact supplements I should buy, not just for these things, but for any and everything, I would very much appreciate it!

This actually happened to me this morning. I was so tired after waking up, I just didn't meditate because I knew I would fall asleep while meditating. The only solution I can think of is getting better quality sleep. Go to bed earlier and get a solid 8 hours. If that still doesn't help, you have to pinpoint why you are getting such poor quality sleep:

-maybe you are eating too late and sleeping on a full stomach which makes you have exhausting dreams (happened to me last night)

-maybe you are on your phone or computer right before bed (try avoiding "screen time" at least an hour before bed, maybe you're mind is racing before bed (try implementing a nighttime routine to help you wind down in preparation for sleep (no tv/computer/phone at least an hour before bed, take a hot bath, read a book for a bit before going to sleep)

-try implementing a regular excercise routine. This helps me immensely. When I stop working out for a period of time, my sleep suffers noticeably.

-another practice which helps me relax and sleep better is smoking a small bit of weed in the evenings, but at least 2 hours before bed. If you smoke right before going to bed, it will make you groggy in the morning. i got it on amazon. the base powder has an amount of potassium based on old RDA, so need to supplement if using it.
be careful if you get it, because you can accidentally do way too much. you’ll just pee off what you dont need if you get too much potassium. However, if you take too much at once or have kidney problems it could lead to overall too much body potassium which can be dangerous or even deadly due to arrhythmias. but yea i got it on amazon (link)

if you make a good broccoli cheddar let me know the recipe!

i made this before:

4 cup chicken broth
5 cup broccoli
2 cup heavy cream
2 tbs butter or olive oil
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 cloves garlic

which turned out pretty good. maybe could add in base powder and potassium with a bit of chicken and celery and water in place of the chicken broth for more protein and less salt

Hey man. I don't grow anything but weed so I don't know much about your plant but in the flowering stage of cannabis if I get a bug infestation I used potassium bicarbonate (there's recipes and how to mix it online with soft water) or you could use the traditional Dawn dish soap spray which also works. Neem oil has previously worked for me too but what I had to do was place a bamboo stick in the soil and drench the soil so that all bugs go to the bamboo stick as it's free from neem. Next day I just remove the bamboo and that will usually solve it for me too.

If you have tried all these then I have no idea how you'd remove them. Sorry if I couldn't help but both of these methods would work on a cannabis plant. Good luck!

i use Trace Minerals Electrolyte Stamina Tablets. you can find it here on amazon and they also sell it at GNC. I take two tabs 30 minutes to two hours before i workout and hydrate throughout. The electrolytes composition helps with energy in much the same way that we believe carbs would do. Burning fat for energy requires a lot more assistance, i suppose. alot of folk on here talk about "ketoade" and various mix-in supplements. I prefer the ease of the pills.

Quite often the symptoms of anxiety have much more to do with biochemical imbalances, and less to do with psychological factors.

Psychological factors can, however, become an amplifier even if not the primary cause, which is why these are often deemed culprit.

Without getting into the details of biochemistry and specific chemical relationships involved in neurotransmission, I will simply say that B vitamins and magnesium have a strong connection to with aspects of brain function (more correctly lack of proper function) that trigger anxiety.

One of the most important of the B vitamins in connection with balancing anxiety is B12 (though B5 and B6 in combination with magnesium also help).

If you are vegan, vegetarian, or do not each much meat/fish/eggs you most certainly have low levels of B12 if not taking vitamin supplements.

Firstly, I’m so sorry you’re going through all this. Fibro flares are agony. A good fruit to eat for potassium is kiwi- they have more potassium and vitamin C than bananas and oranges, plus they’re super tasty! If you’re looking for a magnesium supplement, be careful of the kind of magnesium- some can cause issues with your digestion. I bought one off of Amazon to try, and it didn’t hurt my digestion but it also didn’t do anything for me (I guess my magnesium isn’t one of my issues)- if you’re in the USA and want to try it, you can find it here: Source Naturals Magnesium Malate... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GFJJKQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share (mods, let me know if linking isn’t allowed and I’ll delete) It’s Magnesium Malate, which should be easier on the digestion. The only downside is the bottle is HUGE so if it turns out that magnesium isn’t your issue, you have a ton of pills still.
If you’re in a state/country that legalized medical marijuana, I’ve found that having some is one of the only ways to break the muscle spasms I get from my fibro. I don’t smoke, but I use tinctures, topicals, and occasionally cookies from my local dispensary.

Hey, sorry to hear nothing you've tried is working. A lot of people will probably tell you it's your diet, which I guess is entirely possible if you're the type of person sensitive to things you eat. But if you've tried a healthy diet already to no avail (like a lot of other people do), you should go to a dermatologist and have them prescribe you something like an antibiotic. I wouldn't recommend oral antibiotics because I took them and my acne only cleared temporarily. The drug I was given worked for a short period and then stopped working.

If you're interested, I did some quick research and I found a type of OTC product known as "silver serum." It's typically in cream form and is meant to both soothe + disinfect so it shouldn't be drying or give you a chemical burns. I haven't tried it myself but from what I've read, it does its job fairly well in killing bad bacteria. I actually might order some just because I'm in the middle of a flare up right now. This right here is a link to one that I found on amazon. It might be worth looking into. Like I said, I have noo experience with it, but it could do you some good. Btw I am not a doctor nor do I plan to be one or claim to be one blah blah blah, I'm a college kid majoring in comp sci, so don't take this product recommendation as any kind of medical advice. It's just another option for you that you might not have heard of yet.

Dude, magnesium citrate (must be citrate, other forms not as absorbable). Half of one of these will make you shit like a champion. Like fwoop-fwoop-fwoop-pee-FLUSH-done! And make sure you're drinking plenty of water.

Only sold online or in specialty vitamin shops. Typical drug stores only carry the crappier forms.

I must add that I use blue light blocking glasses in the evening on the recommendation of my doctor and it really does work remarkably well. I put them on around 7:30PM and I'm out by 9PM.

No, not really. 1 tsp lite salt and 2 T magnesium citrate liquid in a gallon of water, add 1 Crystal Light packet (they're for 1/2 gallon, but are WAY too sweet at that conc.), then divide among 4 Powerade Zero bottles. I drink two of those per day. I also take two of these per day.

Before I started doing this, I was having muscle fatigue, brain fog, and my left eye was twitching like it wanted to leap off my face. Now I feel completely normal, which is nice.

I put 8g of this salt (3g of sodium) in a nalgene bottle every morning and sip on it until I start eating. I try to put about 2g worth of sodium on my food in the evening totaling about 5g of sodium per day as per NEOMGGeeWhiz's suggestion which I'm sure he got from this book because I recognize the beef bullion recommendation. I also take this potassium supplement and this magnesium supplement. I've been successfully ketogenic for over 3 years and these recommendations have worked for me!

My statement is correct. You're confusing actual weight with a "serving".

The label must meet a FDA labelling standard which shows the % of the RDA in a "serving" but a serving size is a variable. A serving can be anything from one tablet to the entire bottle.

The weight of a serving of magnesium oxide that contains 100% of the RDA is different than the weight of a serving of magnesium citrate that contains 100% of the RDA.

A quarter teaspoon of mag oxide contains as much magnesium as two huge tablets of citrate, plus the binders and fillers.

Different companies format their labels differently too. Manufacturers can format their label differently and still meet the FDA requirement.

So yes two different brands listing 600mg of X should contain 600mg of X then additional weight to account for the compounds actual weight.

But consider these two labels; NOW Mag Oxide vs Solgar Mag citrate. Yes, both show that a serving is 100% of the RDA but they indicate that in different ways.

There are also different grades of a compound. There exists high elemental magnesium in high quality mag citrate vs low elemental mag in low quality mag citrate, etc. different densities of elemental magnesium across various grades of the compound.

Another example is Lithium Orotate. The labels list the total weight not the elemental lithium weight. In fact, that's notated on the label of most lithium orotate supplements, as well as many other supplements

I would highly recommend tracking your first couple of weeks if not months on an app like https://cronometer.com/ that way you know exactly what you're getting (especially the electrolytes) and you can look back over time to see what did and didn't work for you. I personally prefer cronometer over myfitnesspal because the data is from "official" sources making it more reliable, and it automatically calculates net carbs.

As for my sodium intake I drink 1-3 "cups" of broth a day. Thanks, I'm walking between 3 and 12 miles each day. The most difficult part was definitely managing bodily function--the first week or two nothing was guaranteed. Best advice I can give: trust no fart.

I also re-read the audio book of Mark Divine's "Way of the SEAL" -- it gives a bunch of exercises to build mental toughness and resilience. I've had little to no hunger/cravings and have cooked several highly aromatic meals for others: homemade pizza, seafood marinara, shrimp and dirty rice, etc.

Overall this has been an exceedingly positive experience my BP has dropped from 140/96 @ 78 bpm to 121/81 @ 74 bmp. I've gone from sleeping 4-5 hours per night with snoring interrupted breathing/semi-apnea (no mask or anything) to 8-10 hours sleeping like a baby. I'm waking up at 5 am before my alarm.

I can't give you the specifics on the nutrients/micronutrients. Here's my complete shopping list--I'm taking electrolyte pills and not using drops--these were recommended in another thread. It's good to keep those on hand, in case you feel any cramps or light-headedness.

I take this multivitamin because it seems to be the most complete but not outrageously expensive. The full dose is 3 pills and so I spread them out throughout the day. It's higher in zinc and selenium then any other multi I found, which I'm also usually deficient in. They have a gummy version, but it doesn't have as many micronutrients as this one.


And this iron it's a really high dose so I only take it every other day. I take it first thing in the morning with a glass of water and don't eat/drink anything for an hour or two because supposedly it's best absorbed on an empty stomach

Take it from someone who has a lot of chronic pain due to a genetic disorder - one injury can cause so many others.

My SI Joint frequently upslips and sends my hips into a weird offset rotation. I don't always notice - and then my muscles start to spasm and change, which causes me to have a slight S-curve scoliosis.

This in turn causes my neck to get out of whack - which pinches a nerve that leads down into my arm.

When my elbow and hand start giving me nerve pain - I know my hips are out of alignment.

Soooo - long story short - that fracture has probably been making you walk, sit, move, and function oddly - which in turn has been throwing off your body enough that the muscles are reacting - which lead to awful miserable spasms that can be more painful that any break.

So yeah, it probably does explain all of your pain.

A few rules about the hips (if no one has bother to help you - which wouldn't surprise me).

No twisting at the waist until your muscles chill. Meaning if you have to get out of your car, twist your whole body legs and torso together and stand up - rather than side stepping in or out.

No crossing your legs - even at the feet. Exacerbates things heavily.

If you sleep on your side - make sure you have a pillow between your legs, and one behind your hips/lower back to keep you stabilized.

Consider taking elemental magnesium (not the magnesium oxide you buy at a grocery store) - but something like this (I take 2 a day when I am feeling good - 4 a day when I am feeling like shit). It also motivates the bowels, so...score? It helps reduce muscle spasms that I am sure you are having after 7 weeks of compensating for such a miserable injury.
It also reduces the need for pain medication (which I try to avoid as chronic pain leads to dependency).

I would recommend getting separate supplements. That one kind of takes a shotgun approach to each element. It also doesn't let you adjust each one as needed. Plus, Mg-oxide is a laxative.

I use these or this (probably cheaper locally) for K, and these for Mg.
For Na, just use plain salt, broth, etc. I don't worry about Calcium at all, and I don't think many others do either.

More important, learn to recognize when you need more. Na usually shows as the keto flu, K shows up as muscle cramps, and Mg shows up as a little bit of everything.

I've tried both Natural Calm, a magnesium powder, and Primaforce ZMA, and found the ZMA to be noticeably better. I started with the ZMA, then tried switching to Natural Calm because it was cheaper, but found it didn't work as well, so I switched back. I've had chronic sleep problems for most of my life, and I found that I fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and dream more with the ZMA. YMMV, but that's my n=1 anecdote for ya.

Wish I could say this was anything more than a fluke. Like you though, I mostly concentrated on finding the triggers. Maple syrup, red grapes, hot dogs, etc. SO nice to be able to eat whatever the hell I like now.

I got lucky on the pain side, mine actually don't hurt too bad. Headaches are way worse pain wise. However, visual issues, language problems and general "foggy" performance from my brain ended up being much more debilitating than pain for me.

That's still more expensive. According to their labels, The liquid has 1.745g magnesium citrate per fluid oz. which is a bit more than the powder label claims is in 1/2 tsp. (1663mg) on the bag I got. The 17.6 oz. bag has ~300 1/2 tsp. in it vs. 10 oz in a 10 oz. liquid bottle.

I'm with ya on that. I have old pipes too and sometimes the water is salty and a simple 2 stage filter won't fix that and a 5-stage filter isn't economically feasible.


Also it's not Western countries dumping plastic so nothing you do will change the amount of plastic in the oceans.


You could cut back on the plastic that winds up in landfills by buying water in 1 or 5 gallon containers instead and adding your own trace minerals if you wanted to.

When the NoSalt I ordered arrived damaged, I got a refund and then found BulkSupplements potassium chloride powder. Turned out 1kg of that stuff was much cheaper than the 2 pack of 11oz canisters.

It's the magnesium that improves sleep, but only if you are deficient (which many people are). I just bought 250mg of Magnesium Glycinate which is probably the cheapest way to get Magnesium that doesn't have a laxative effect (Magnesium Citrate is even cheaper, but I don't need the assistance in cleaning out my bowels).

The Zinc is there in case you are deficient, in which case it will bring your T levels up to normal but not beyond.

The B vitamins are relatively worthless if you are already getting enough aka taking a multi-vitamin.

Hugely! I take it every day along with a fish oil supplement and I have been able to go off all my anxiety meds entirely. Just make sure to get a chelated one or, to put it politely, you'll shit your brains out. I take two of these every morning

Potassium is one of those micronutrients that most people tend to be very deficient in. Current recommended guidelines range from 3500 mg/day to 4700 mg/day.

The benefits of potassium in regards to bodybuilding/hypertrophy (apologies, as these are my current fitness goals, so my knowledge is focused in this area) are helping with retaining water in muscle for volume (like creatine) as well as potentially helping to reduce soreness and fatigue.

That said, if you're going to supplement potassium, and are only within 100mg or so of your target (in which case, you probably don't need to supplement), then you probably can get it with a food source (bananas for example).

If you need larger amounts, and food sources aren't feasible (for whatever reason), then don't go with potassium supplement pills; pills are limited to ~99mg/pill because highly localized amounts of potassium can be damaging to cells (note: I tried to find a more reliable source for this, but couldn't).

Rather, go with a potassium citrate supplement (I use the one from Bulksupplements.com through Amazon); it comes in powder form, so you don't have to worry about a highly localized amount interacting with cells (like a pill, which may rest on a surface of the stomach). You'd mix this with a liquid of some sort to distribute the powder (I personally put it in my protein shakes which are blended, so it's very evenly distributed).

Edit: 99g of potassium will kill you and no pill has 99g in it.

Try taking the bacopa before bed, it makes some people tired.

Maybe lay off the CILTEP for a few days and try supplementing some glutamine, did wonders for me.

Try adjusting your choline intake, too much makes some people depressed, but not enough will also make you tired and brain foggy. Too much will give you muscle soreness and possibly a headache from muscle tension.

You could try some n-acetyl-tyrosine and see if it helps your motivation. I wouldn't take too much though since one of your ADs is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Have you always felt this unmotivated, or is it a recent phenomenon? If it's just a recent thing, what has changed in your life that might have caused it? If it is chronic, and n-acetyl-tyrosine works for you, you might want to ask your doctor about trying ritalin/methylphenidate.

I would also try to get off the SSRI/SNRI, serotonin is depressing. There is a common misconception, possibly due to incorrect ideas about how MDMA works, that serotonin makes you happy. SSRIs actually increase suicide risk for the first few weeks because the excess serotonin makes you depressed. The anti depressant effects take a few weeks because they are due to physiological changes in your brain due to the extra serotonin.

Do you take a multivitamin or any vitamins other than D? Personally I think the base of any nootropic stack should include a good multivitamin, some antioxidants, and probably fish oil, although some people react negatively to fish oil. Not including any racetams or ciltep or anything purely nootropic, every day I take:

AOR Ortho Core

B Complex

Vitamin C

Vitamin D-3

Vitamin E

Fish Oil

Green Tea Extract

Pine Bark Extract

Magnesium

Calcium

Probably less important, but I also take acetyl carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, alpha gpc, glucosamine/chondroitin/msm, rhodiola rosea, eluthero sibricus, jiaogulan, mushroom product including reishi and chaga, glutamine, l-phenylalanine, creatine, coq10, ashwagandha, lion's mane, bacopa, and astragalus.

In addition to all that I take various nootropics sort of randomly as I feel like, including sulbutiamine, piracetam, aniracetam, pramiracetam, noopept, and forskolin/artichoke/hesperidin.

Last, and probably most important, get plenty of good sleep.

  1. After lots of research, barring pre-existing medical conditions, I've never heard any arguments against it that don't fall along the lines of "You should eat, because I want to eat, and I don't want to feel like my way is wrong or for you to remind me how little self-discipline I have." LOL.
  2. Fasting won't slow down your metabolism, but losing weight will! A smaller body burns fewer calories--you can't go back to eating your previous diet after losing a bunch of weight, regardless of how you lose it. Also, as /u/Eat_Like_A_Snake pointed out, extreme calorie restriction isn't the same as fasting--it can cause severe problems.
  3. As you start weighing less, it takes less skeletal muscle to move your body around, and less heart muscle to pump blood around your smaller body, so unless you strength and aerobics-train, that muscle that you no longer need will disappear--this is true whether you're fasting or not! Your body does need some protein daily, but there are lots of non-muscle proteins--like that extra skin you don't need any more--for it to recycle! No, fasting is not a zombie. It will not eat your brain. Your body just spent years stocking away the perfect fuel for you (fat) to survive on in the absence of food--body fat even has fat-soluble vitamins in it! Why would it eat your brain instead?
  4. As long as it takes? Angus Barbieri did it for 382 days--and coincidentally, the weight stayed off.
  5. This article contains specifics on which nutrients you need to worry about during re-feeding, but in general, it goes like this: Keep the insulin index of your food down until your stomach has returned to a size that can hold enough calories to fuel your body. Low insulin-index foods are foods which are mostly made of fat, or which have barely any calories. That said, I broke my last 21-day fast with Thanksgiving dinner. LOL. As Dr. Fung mentions, re-feeding syndrome is something which was identified in severely malnourished concentration camp victims, and is probably not a concern for healthy people.
  6. Your body needs protein, and that extra skin is a source of protein--so most of the time, fasting minimizes the loose skin, but occasionally, I'll read about someone who fasted and still ended up with loose skin, so maybe genetics is another factor, or maybe they're not fasting long enough to trigger autophagy.
  7. Ehhh, most medical professionals are knee-jerk scared of anything unfamiliar just like normal humans, and fasting isn't mainstream... yet. So you're highly unlikely to find one that will be okay with this. Before-and-after hormone/endocrine/nutrient panels might be interesting, though!
  8. I'm on Day 40, and here's my list of supplements: Garden of Life Multivitamin, Zhou Lyte Up (as needed), Now Bone Strength, Iodoral cut into quarters, and L-Theanine as-needed when the elevated adrenaline gets to be too much. All of these are fine on an empty stomach. Some cheaper alternatives I've tried are: Morton's Lite Salt is about half sodium chloride/half potassium Chloride; bulk Potassium Bicarbonate is super-cheap and flavorless; and you can take an Epsom Salt bath to get your magnesium. Like most other fasters, my fasting guru is Dr. Jason Fung. He has all sorts of YouTube videos, as well as the Intensive Dietary Management website, and a couple pretty famous books.

    More Notes:

  • The maximum amount of calories you can convert from fat per day is kg of fat * 69.4692 or lbs of fat * 31.5053. It's possible for a person to not have enough body fat to meet their calorie needs, so they'd have to supplement dietary fat. Body fat supplies around 7,717 calories per kg or 3500 per lb. Using this math, if you lost more weight than the calories you burned according to your Fitbit or whatever, or more than your theoretical maximum, it's probably either glycogen (aka "water weight") or food in your digestive tract. I keep losing that extra weight until Day 12-ish.

I specifically said magnesium citrate or glycinate because it DOESN'T give you the shits. The poorer quality magnesium (like magnesium oxide) can give you the shits. Read here for more info: https://rollsafe.org/mdma-supplements/

And two tablets per dose. Then maybe a pair ever couple of hours, which sounds a lot for rolling but if you have a bunch before and after the club it isn't really too hard too do. Basically as per rollsafe recommends.

Also acknowledge that it comes down to how much MDMA you have ultimately. When i have under 100mg the magnesium means i have no gurning. If I have an all day bender and take 200mg I'll have a bit of gurning even with the magnesium (but substantially less than I would have if i didn't take it).

It comes down to what you feel you can reasonably do.

Also, if you're worried about the shits take some diarrhoea tablets in an unopened blister pack and have them before you drop. Never have i been questioned on those by any security, ever. Probably because they don't want anybody to shit themselves...
