Confidence is one of (m)y biggest factors for sexiness, but it's very difficult to just become confident. I didn't get it for years, and the only confidence I gained was through observing true badasses and a general feeling of adulthood after finally getting my career and life on track.

Not giving a fuck is actually a really difficult thing to pull off, and many people given as examples of "how to not give a fuck" do it very poorly.

The fake-it-till-you-make-it adage does work, to some degree. When interacting with women (or whomever you're interested in), act as if you're already in a committed relationship - you don't need to tell people you're taken, just give yourself a little mental reminder that you're interacting with this person in a sex-free context. They have nothing you want, because you're already very happy. Almost immediately the way you act will change - at least, it did for me. Having nothing to prove to someone makes a huge difference in how the relationship works.

(The above advice worked for me, so I gave it. It won't work for everyone, and if executed improperly you can come off as one of those /r/redpill douchebags.)

Attractiveness is something that people incorrectly believe you're just born with. Part of it is genetics, I won't deny that - but even Vin Diesel could look like shit if he stopped taking care of himself.

Take some personal pride in your appearance, and stop focusing on the negatives. Physical things, even if it looks like you got hit in the face with a brick: if you've got clear skin, good hair, an easy smile and good posture you'll be far ahead of someone without those last four.

(A) Take care of your skin. Lots of dudes with acne would actually look pretty decent if they just took care of themselves. Figure out what kind of skin you have and learn how to take care of it. Stop popping blackheads and zits, the red bumps and bloody craters left behind are even worse than the zit was. If it doesn't pop from a hot shower and some exfoliating then it wasn't ready. Wash your pillowcases regularly, if you don't then every night you're grinding oil into your face.

(B) Take care of your hair. Use some goddamn conditioner already! And yes, that's every day. Even the super-cheap Suave stuff is better than nothing. I keep my hair short so I don't use any, but consider using some gel or mousse to keep your hair where you want it. If you don't know how or what to do, go to a salon and get a haircut. When you're done, ask them for styling tips.

(C) Practice facial expressions in the mirror. No, I am not joking. People will naturally gravitate to others who look genuine and happy. There really isn't any trick here, just look at some photos of yourself and smile in the mirror. Don't like it? Change it until you do, and then remember how that felt. Fake smiles are with the mouth only, a real smile also gets your eyes and eyebrows involved. Keep your eyebrows up to make yourself look interested and approachable. Keep your eyes open, it helps make you feel awake and a half-closed eye usually means you're tired, disinterested, drugged or plotting some evil.

(D) Keep your damn posture up! This is one of those from the bottom up sort of things that has synergistic effects with almost everything you do. Imagine you have a rope tied to the top of your head - now let all your weight hang from that rope. Your chin goes up, your back straightens, your shoulders roll back, your eyes look forward instead of down, your ribcage expands, your hands fall to your sides instead of forward, your feet put their weight on the balls instead of the heels. This is a huge thing you have just done. Do not stop doing it. Seriously, if you don't believe me then take some photos. There is a marked effect, and people notice it subconsciously.

EDIT - BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE

Drive is sexy. It's difficult to define, but that's because I've only recently gotten it. The best description I can come up with is being an adult. That sounds dumb, but it's a bigger thing than I thought it was.

Guys are stereotypically told they should mow lawns, hunt buffalo, be the primary breadwinner of the family, fight for their GF's honor, all that jazz. Those are all superficial representations of a strong, driven individual. Somehow this concept got turned into an aggressively sexist meathead jock ideal, so these last few generations of men have grown up without a strong leader role to look up to. That's how come we have so many manchild know-nothing do-nothing types like Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera and all their buddies. None of them are sexy, and it's because they're all still children.

Having drive is about finding a goal and achieving it. Don't just do it once, do it relentlessly. Never be without a job, and always be giving an honest effort toward that job. Doesn't matter what it is, it's the ability to do things that makes you a driven person.

Don't like your body? Hit the gym - this is now your goal. Don't like your job? Get a new one - and no, you don't need schooling for that. Don't like your place? Clean it, fix it up, renovate it.

When I was a kid, I was a manchild. My dad kept trying to make me do jobs and work, and I resisted it because I didn't understand what he was trying to do. I thought it was about jobs that needed to be done. Yes, part of it is that - but the larger part is about the feeling you get when you have made reality your bitch. See that wall? Yeah, that wall is there now. I put it there. Framed, leveled, ran electrical, drywalled, painted and trimmed. Me. I did that shit, and from now until the end of the universe I will have left a lasting mark on the world.

This is why I've largely given up video games. Yeah, they're fun - but there's more to feeling good than just the heh, nice of a headshot. When you turn the system off, everything else leaves with it. There's no permanence, and eventually it just leaves you feeling powerless and inadequate. Why? Because nothing you've achieved has any permanence at all.

Drive is also something you have to be careful with. Several times I've been really happy with myself and how much I'm getting done - only to realize that people were using my get-shit-done abilities to their advantage. That's the point where you need to stick up for yourself and make your own decisions. This isn't about being unilateral or selfish, this is about YOU deciding what to do with YOUR time. Be jealous with your man-hours and use them on projects that make you happy, not enabling someone else's lack of motivation.

There's very little in the world more manly and fucking badass than being able to tell someone diplomatically and confidently: "You'll have to take care of that yourself, I've got more important things going on." Instant +500 manhood.

You've had some interesting experiences! Aveeno is renowned for (typically) being better for sensitive skin, and bare minerals is sold at sephora, it's not cheap but not the most expensive by far. I used it for a long time, it certainly didn't make me break out, lol. It does have a lot of copycats, though, so maybe you had bought one of those?

There's definitely nothing wrong with sticking to drugstore/walmart/target brands, they've got plenty of good stuff too. I've been buying the same Maybelline mascara forever, Loreal nail polish is my favorite formula, and burts bees and EOS lip balms are pretty much universal favorites too.

Urban Decay is definitely a 'prestige' (spendy) brand, it just happens to be my favorite so that's why I used it as an example. Like my oily nose. /r/MakeupAddiction is probably the best subreddit for all the know-how you could ever want; if you take a look at their sidebar they have HG (holy grail) product lists for all different budgets and skin types, plus tutorials. The internet is a beautiful place.

Regarding your skin, if you typically only cleanse regularly and you've still got that dead skin shedding going on, you might try adding an exfoliator once or twice a week. I think most people use creams or gels for this (St Ives Apricot Scrub is classic, Target makes a generic version for like $2), but you can also get manual exfoliators like the Buf Puf. I think you've already read about how those pore strips are actually worse for your skin than most people think. Oh, and there's /r/SkincareAddiction for allllll the skin stuff, if you want to check that out. Whew! Best of luck in your journey! :)

I agree with /u/rorowhat in that the brands need some work. People aren't going to order a basket for things they can easily buy right now. Adding in some products people may not know of like these body scrubbers (which are absolutely amazing, and work 100% better than a loofah) would be a good idea. Also more artisanal soaps/lotions. The type of people who are buying this basket won't care if it adds $5-8 if they get cooler stuff they otherwise wouldn't have learned about. Additionally, it may be a good idea to have baskets with a certain focus-- hair/body/face etc. I'm finicky about shampoos and body washes, as many people are, so I'd be more likely to buy a box with things like: lip balm, hand lotion, cuticle cream, nail file, sheet mask than the box you have. Or if you want to stay more cleanliness oriented even: floss, motorized tooth brush (you can send replacement heads for repeat customers rather than traditional tooth brushes), mouth wash, hand soap, artisanal bar soap, scrubber, poo pourri, etc.
I'd caution you on using shampoo/deodorant as a staple, because a lot of the time they depend on the person's body.

You had some grammatical errors in the "about us" tab, which I'm cleaning up. I work as an editor for a few of my Uni's publications, and the About Us really stood out to me. I strongly urge you to tidy some of the errors, as they seem unprofessional. I'm also rewording some redundancies and taking out info I think is crimping your style.

Idk your target demo, but from a perspective of a broke college student who has to pay all her own bills: I can't afford $30 for someone to ship me toothpaste and whatnot. No, it's not cheaper for me to pay you $30 when 80% of the products in the basket I don't have any use for. The broke college kid in me would not use this service. It seems like your target market needs to be 25-45-somethings (mom's of college students would probably love to send this as a care package to their kids). You're targeting people with extra cash, who will want to try new soaps, lotions, body scrubs, etc. As such, I removed all talk of your age/your friends' opinions. Your age doesn't matter. Your friends don't matter. Your client matters. You need to relate to them as much as possible.

Here is a retouched version with what I think is a stronger about-me. I don't mean to step on your toes or anything, but since that section sounded a bit eh to me, it's what I focused on:

----------

Like many concepts, HYGEIA CLUB was born out of a desire for convenience. Founder Paul Parker brainstormed various hygienic issues with his friends and coworkers, and found that the biggest issues most people had were running out of product. Who really wants brave the store on a Saturday for toothpaste? There had to be a way to never run out of floss that doesn't constitute purchasing a 42 pack; HYGEIA CLUB was born.

We automatically deliver a care package, filled with essential toiletries, right to your door. Never again will you worry about running out of hand soap or fresh toothbrushes. What's more, we're still less expensive than what you can pick up at your local store, including delivery. Simple enough, right? We think so too.

-----------

If you want to keep your working and fix the errors, here that is:

-----------

Like many concepts, HYGEIA CLUB was born out of necessity. Founder Paul Parker began discussing his various hygienic issues with other college colleagues, ^ which ranged ^ [[[colons do not go here]]] from running low on toothpaste (and never wanting to run to the store just for that one item) to never quite knowing when to replace his toothbrush. [[[ Paul's colleagues, ranging from freshman to senior level, Everyone agreed to having these situations and with such the idea for HYGEIA CLUB was born.]]] this whole sentence doesn't make sense, and you've already used some form of "range"

For a very low cost, we automatically deliver a care package filled with essential toiletries right to your door so that you never have to worry about running out. What's more, even delivered^,^ we're still less expensive than what you can pick up at your local store, saving both time and money. Simple enough, right? We think so too.

The deodorant is DEFINITELY the culprit. Aluminum causes most of the yellowing. More importantly, it is probably not good for you to wear such a strong anti-antiperspirant.

First, because it is not good to clog your pores, regardless of what you are clogging them with. Sweating is a natural body process.

Second, aluminium CAN be absorbed into the body transdermally via your armpits (source). That much is clear. Whether or not it can cause harm is still up for debate. But, IMHO, if you can avoid using it, you probably should.

So, here are steps you can take to transfer away from aluminium.

  1. Look for an all natural, aluminium free deodorant. It is important to note that this will not anything like you are used to. It will NOT stop sweating. It will just help you smell better. Tom's of Maine makes some (I don't really like those, but some people swear by them). Arm and Hammer makes a nice one. Or, you can go really natural, and use something like Weleda. That is what I use, and it is just alcohol and natural oils.

  2. Trim your pit hair. Don't shave it like a woman, but trim it down like your beard. This will help to decrease sweating and bacteria growth.

  3. Wash really well in the shower. I mean scrub the shit out of those pits.

  4. Don't wear under armour or other quick-dry type shirts. Those tend to pick up odor really quickly. Wool is the best for resisting odor, and cotton is ok, but not great. Both are better than the synthetic shit.

Try all of that and see where it leaves you. You will still sweat, but you probably won't develop an offensive odor, and your shirts won't turn yellow.

As for the shirts that are already stained, I don't know what to tell you.
u/CARTERsauce · 16 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I am a sweaty person. I have tried all the name brand antiperspirants/deodorants. After years of crusted yellow/white stained shirts, I realized that my body seemed to compensate with more sweat, plugged up under the arms, it surfaced on my back and head. Clinical/prescription strength antiperspirants only added to the problem, and my white tees took the damage. Later I found out people, myself included, actually use too much, you only need a super thin amount applied to your underarms, don't go about it like frosting a cake.

Also thinking about the potential harm of aluminum based antiperspirants (you absorb everything through your skin), I moved on to some natural deodorants (brands like Toms) but they just didn't seem to work so well, but i did notice when I applied less deodorant, or didn't altogether, my sweat began to lessen in severity. Anytime I actually smelled (like after yardwork or a any long day in the sun), it was time for a shower anyways. After I was properly applying a thin coat, I settled on Arm & Hammers Essential Deodorant that began to alleviate my problems, notably with my clothing. No more yellow crusty shirts!

But how about some deodorant that will last you several years? Try a Thai Deodorant Stone, I've had this baby for a year now and I can attest that it works great. Nowadays I apply this to my underarms from time to time and lightly powder my feet and groin with a mix of cornstarch and talc. Life is much better now.

TLDR: Use less antiperspirant and try a deodorant stick without aluminum, like Arm & Hammer Natural Essentials, or try a Thai Deodorant Stone cause it rules. Also try applying talc/cornstarch to areas you get moist

And while we're on the topic of saving money on everyday hygienic activities, consider a safety razor (refill blades are $10 for 100 compared to $20 for 8) some nice sandalwood shave soap (I've had this bowl for a year and it doesn't really look like any is gone) and a nice aftershave (I get lots of compliments on the particular scent of this one from those who get close enough to smell it) I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging...

Before I started shaving like this, I had a bit of an acne problem and some parts of my face where I would get spots of dry skin, it's gone now. My skin is mostly clear. You're gonna get a much better shave that doesn't irritate your skin and save a ton of money when you think about the cost of Gillete Quadruple edged razors, plus how much more badass is it to shave like this? This is how your grandpa shaved. The upfront investment is a badger brush, which I called an investment because a good one will last you a lifetime.

That's my hygiene ramble.

u/rEvolutionTU · 7 pointsr/malegrooming

I feel like I've been posting this once a week in this kind of thread, not sure if it's basic enough to think about putting in the sidebar.

First of all, for all we know Aluminium chlorohydrate has no negative health effects whatsoever.

The main issue why a lot of people consider it "bad" (and why I usually recommend to not use a daily deodorant with it but instead something dedicated like this) is because the vast majority has no clue what it does, how it works and how to use it properly.

Think of it like something that shrinks your pores making it harder for sweat to come out (not entirely accurate but close enough). Now, in case you had an issue with your pores "overreacting" you just sweat less or, if they didn't "overreact" and your body still needs to dissipate heat you will sweat a little more in surrounding regions. However (this is why it's a horrible ingredient in something we use as casually as our deodorants) if you use too much of the stuff it results in the pores being like a blocked dam that's breaking, usually making you sweat more in the process. The fact that it leaves stains if used during your daily routine is just icing on the cake.

As usual, if you believe you're sweating WAY over the top just go ahead and ask your doc about it, you might have an actual medical condition that goes with it.

tl;dr:

  • Pick a nice fresh smelling and rather neutral deodorant without aluminum chloride for daily use.
  • If you feel as if you "sweat too much" in specific regions look into a dedicated aluminum chloride product (e.g. see link above) and use it exactly like the package insert suggests (before going to bed, wash it in the morning, less is more).
  • Use a perfume to your personal liking.

A deodorant is not supposed to make you smell awesome (that's what your perfume does) and it's not supposed to make you sweat less. It's there to give you a general fresh feeling & smell and to be there for you in a pinch if your condition is... less than optimal.

I hope you have a very Happy Birthday :) You are incredibly nice for giving everyone here the opportunity to win a gift that they want in honor of your bday. It's my party!

There's a pretty easy way to avoid this:

  1. Take a warm bath with some bath salts. After about 10 minutes of soaking or so, exfoliate your skin, try this: (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001POYT16/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) That's just an example, you can get some epsom salt (same stuff) at Walmart for half the price.

  2. Exfoliating the skin first prevents ingrown hairs. Super important. The first time I did this, I did not know how to shave my body properly and I ended up being way too vigorous and getting lots of nasty razor bumps. To exfoliate I used:

  3. Loofah or Pouf (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CTQMIC/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) again check Walmart, it'll be cheaper. The main idea here is that you want to exfoliate dead skin and loosen up any hairs that are growing.

  4. St. Ives Exfoliating Body Wash (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JLGC12/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) This is a really great natural exfoliant that you can put on the loofah/poof while you scrub

  5. After exfoliation, you shave. I shave against the grain with a good Gillette razor using this shaving cream: Cremo Cream (http://www.amazon.com/Cremo-Astonishingly-Superior-Shaving-Creams/dp/B003FVWRCK/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=191FPDNMEKJB5PRZXF94) Which does a really tremendous job. You only need to spread a little bit of it around and it helps to give a really great shave without any irritation (great for both men and women). Plus it last a long time.

  6. Moisturize with your favorite skincare lotion, brand doesn't really matter. You just want to keep that area moist and healthy.

  7. LAST STEP. Most important, DO NOT DO THIS THE SAME DAY YOU SHAVE. DO IT EITHER A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE OR AFTER. Use an acid-based lotion like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TTPZQ6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002D48QRK/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The basic idea here is that through chemical exfoliation they'll smooth the red bumps and give you a very smooth look.

This is my skincare routine and I don't get any of those ingrown hairs or razor bumps. I used too, though. That's why I do this.
u/gstar1981 · 2 pointsr/Showerthoughts

Yes ! Moisture wicking underwear!

I work as a delivery driver in the hot and humid south and crotch rot has always been a painful/infuriating problem.

Lotions make this WORSE! I found out the hard way. I had a bad case of crotch rot every day after working a few hours so I put some lotion on it. Turns out your skin is inflamed and broken out because of the friction and moisture. You need to be DRY! I ended up with a yeast infection which is awkward as a dude.

But sometimes fancy underwear aren't enough...

So every morning I put Fresh Balls or Anti Monkey Butt on m'parts to keep me dry. They both work wonderfully, but the Fresh Balls is a lot less messy.

But sometimes fancy underwear and powders combined aren't enough... Fuck me.

So I keep Gold Bond Medicated Powder: Extra Strength in the truck. Just in case. The stuff has menthol and it super soothing.

I hope these tips help some people. And please let me know if you have any more tips!

Like. Pretty please.

u/SexySadie80 · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

These are all good suggestions, but what I see missing is EXFOLIATION. This can make a huge difference.
Before you shave, I recommend these gloves or something similar:
https://www.amazon.com/Aquasentials-Exfoliating-Gloves-pairs-White/dp/B001C1LBG8
Simply wash your face like normal; use warm water and face wash. Lightly scrub the areas you want to shave with the gloves. Rinse, now you're ready to shave.
I love the mention of oils. One thing I've discovered to work the best though is to use a cream shave first! I don't try to do an extremely smooth shave at this point. I'm just doing a light shave with the cream. Rinse, then apply coconut oil. Now I can do a better shave, and it usually ends up being incredibly smooth and non irritated. This is actually the only method I've ever used that gives me a completely smooth shave.

u/zombiehoffa · 5 pointsr/wicked_edge

I was just busting your balls;) I think it's more that I'm a 300 lb dude, so I have way more surface area to wash than to shave;)

I wet myself down then rub the soap bar on various places to get just enough soap on my body for a nice lather, then use a salux nylon japanese beauty skin bath wash towel (highly recommend, I used to use a loofa and a wash cloth and this thing blows away both of them and is super cheap) It's very exfoliating, plus dries super quick so no bacterial issues (unlike the loofa that has a constant wet spot in the middle) and behaves like a wash towel, which is super useful for getting those hard to reach places like your back.
http://www.amazon.com/Salux-Nylon-Japanese-Beauty-Blue/dp/B00AX9Y1FS/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1458843641&sr=8-2&keywords=salux

Dove GoSleeveless active ingredient is: Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly (15.2%)
Try finding another deodorant with this same percentage or higher of AZT Gly.
For what its worth it seems they have some available on Amazon, must be the last of the stock cuz its $40 for a twin pack

If you are a sweat machine like me, I would look into Certain Dri. I get the prescription strength roll on which is intended to be used 3x a week (they have a stick version now that is not as strong that is intended for daily use but I like the strong stuff better)
You apply 3x a week at night before bed. After using it now for 9 or so months, I can happily say I sweat about 80% less than I used to. It has completely changed my life. Of course I sweat during a workout or strenuous activity, but my day to day I dont usually sweat at all. I can wear colored shirts again!

Its just an anti-perspirant, so every morning I still use a deodorant just to add some freshness. But now I can use any mild deodorant that I want, even the really cheap ones. And no longer need to load up on deodorant/antiperspirant combo products and pray for less sweating. I cant say enough good things about Certain Dri. If you read some of the reviews on Amazon you will see 99% of people who use Certain Dri saying the same thing. It really has been a game changer for me.

It's my party!

Such a great idea, I did this same thing last week for my birthday! For my birthday, I would hope to receive one of the Sleek palettes on my wishlist, like the Garden of Eden or Oh So Special! They look sooo nice and I'm on an eyeshadow no buy, so it'd be fantastic.

Happy birthday!

You should check out /r/SkincareAddiction or /r/asianbeauty , the sidebar has some great tips and recommendations for beginners. Don't forget to introduce one product at a time at intervals of two week, so that if you react badly to something, you know what caused it.

Face-

Cleanser- Use a pH balanced cleanser like cetaphil or cerave. There's other great products listed on the subreddit if those don't work out for you. Your face is a bit acidic and basic cleansers ruin the acidity, resulting in dry skin.

Exfoliate - Chemical exfoliation is the way to go as physical exfoliation can damage the skin if done incorrectly or done too frequently, not to mention you can chemically exfoliate daily. Exfoliation can be categorized into BHA and AHA and the distinction between the two can be found here. Chemical exfoliation is used after cleansing and drying the face and has to be left in for about 20-30 minutes before moisturizing.

Moisturize - Finding the right moisturizer is more difficult for some than others and a great place to start is by looking at the recommended ones in the above subreddits.

Sunscreen - Suncreens can be separated into physical and chemical and many prefer physical over the chemical because it usually offers better protection and is better for sensitive skin, but physical sunscreen can also come with the side effect of leaving a white cast. Not all do so it's important to research and find one that doesn;t. If I remember correctly a spf of 30 and above is recommended and don't forget that you also need protection from UVA rays in addition to the UVB rays as spf only accounts for UVB.

Other - There's more advanced stuff like Vitamin C serums and such but it's better not to get into that right from the beginning. Also change out your pillow sheet often and drink lots of water.

Body-

Your body isn't as sensitive as you face so as long as you wash, moisturize, and use sunscreen, you should be fine. Personally, I use this every other day with a body wash and moisturize with this, but it's only because I have some acne scars on my body and I'm trying to get rid of them.

u/stupidminnow · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Sleek palettes are sooo good for the price. I'm such a broken record on here talking about the Garden of Eden but it's sooo good. A mix of greens, lilacs, and bronze shades with that warm matte brown in the top right corner is one of my favorite matte browns I've ever used. I love that palette so much and it's just $10 pre-shipping on Amazon.

The issue(s) you need help with: I feel like a skin care disaster, I definitely need help developing a routine.

Skin type: Combo I guess? I have no idea. Some parts of my skin are dry and sensitive, like my eyelids. Others can be oily like my forehead. The pores on my nose are humongous and I'd like to reduce them. I was told my arms have keratosis pilaris but I never followed up with that.

Routine: I shower exclusively at night, occasionally using Public Goods Moisturizer and Lotion afterwards. I had been using Cerave but i got suckered into good marketing. I switch between using Ivory Aloe, Public Goods Body Wash, and Public Goods Bar Soap on Salux Wash Cloths. I was using a new loofah every month but I switched to the wash cloths and saw an improvement. Since I have three I was going to rotate them every few months but I realize i should probably wash and rotate them more often. I was also considering getting the Super Hard ones because my skin doesn't seem to be clearing up like it did when I first started using the cloths.

Location: Texas, USA

PM me for photos cause I don't wanna put my face on the internet

u/anitxtina · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I'v used natural loofahs in the past and they are definitely great exfoliators. I've seen them pretty cheap at natural food stores and there's a 3pc set on Amazon (Add-On) for less than $8 here. :)

u/synapticshadow · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I found these wash cloths to be really helpful. Doesn’t clear it entirely, but helps reduce the amount of bumps from KP pretty drastically. This plus a lotion like AmLactin or something with an AHA to help moisturize/turnover should do the trick.

I find your advice with being comfortable with your genital region very important. Even shaving in the anal region well I sit in good lighting and put a towel under me get out the shaving cream and use a razor. It's the only way to get everything if you are worried about it. You notice you miss a lot generally in the shower to be hairless. Also around the anus go with the the grain of the skin not the opposite direction.

If anyone here doesn't want to wax...
I use an electric razor, this one. Cheap and effective.

Panasonic Electric Shaver for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0018A32XS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I use it for the pubic patch area (courser hair) and I never get ingrown hairs and razor shave the rest of the crotch area and the bikini line. Another good thing if you use this razor on the patch area just buy a dry brush like this

Dry Skin Body Brush - Improves... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LIBEBTG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share.

You can make the tiny hairs under the skin come out before shaving and you are smooth. You don't even have to shower first to get a smooth shave. I usually wait 2 days maybe 3 to do it again.
Also I never wear underwear unless I'm on my period. This helps a lot with ingrorowns. I never have any.

Would love to try waxing though. Just hate letting it grow out that much.

Again, I like Bathhouse's so far. I used to use Eau de Minimes, which smells heavenly and works well, but stopped after seeing it had a medium-high rating on the EWG database (but then I read that the EWG may not be the most trustworthy, so I might try it again). Soapwalla's and Lush's Aromaco also work great, but irritated my armpits because of the baking soda over time (my bf still uses Aromaco without problem, though). Also have read amazing things about Lavilin but haven't tried it.

Under $10 on the scufgaming.com site, but maybe end up more than Amazon after shipping. BTW-If you ever do look into buying him a Scuf, I would lookup Cinch instead. I have both and Cinch was cheaper and they are arguably equal in which one is better. Spending that kind of cash though, either way, it would be better to let the cat out of the bag and let him choose the build customization, unless you know exactly how he likes to play.

My fiancé actually has hyperhydrosis, so he sweats a LOT, and was really unhappy thinking about sweating at the wedding. Anyway, for the last month he's been using/testing out a roll on deodorant type thing called Driclor. It has to be used right when he get's out of the shower for it to work, and he says that it stings the first two hours-ish after applying, but it stops him from sweating for about 24 hours. I would definitely test it out before hand, but it may be worth a shot. Good luck!

That's great! I think you're getting downvoted because your link is bad (it doesn't load the product page on my computer), but it looks like you bought the CVS Sterile Saline Wound Wash, which is a 0.9% sodium chloride solution with no additives. That's the perfect concentration for piercings, so you're good to go!

If you ever get annoyed by how quickly the product sprays out, I really like the NeilMed Fine Mist Wound Wash. It has the same formula as the CVS wound wash, but dispenses in a fine mist that doesn't soak my whole ear.

Please, someone w/ some money, Amazon Prime Same Day this girl the following:

Bath Pillow - so, so much more comfortable.

Overflow Drain Cover - This keeps the water level high so the body feels more buoyant and is more covered.

OP, if your water heater is pretty efficient, and you don't pay for hot water, you can also consider keeping the tap always running a tiny bit so the bathwater stays high and warm, nye indefinitely. If you gauge it right, the overflow drain won't ever let it overflow and you've got nothing to lose but tension.

Wishing you comfort and coziness, OP.

u/annaqua · 2 pointsr/NaturalBeauty

To be fair, a sea sponge is an organic item--it's an animal! As such, it will disintegrate in your shower eventually, just like any other organic item would, including, eventually, a natural brush (and just like a typical loofah definitely will NOT--since they're plastic :).

You may try a Konjac Sponge, though they're not meant to be used with soap, and they also disintegrate since they're plant matter.

Another alternative is a true loofah, though they are not particularly soft like a plastic loofah.

Or, if you really don't want to try something organic (plant or animal), you could get a recycled plastic loofah.

Yep, this worked for me too. In high school/college I would wear an undershirt, shirt, and hoodie in the winter, and within an hour have sweat rings the size of dinner plates. In the shower, wash your hands really well and exfoliate them. These are cheap and do the job: http://www.amazon.com/Aquasentials-Exfoliating-Bath-Gloves-pairs/dp/B001C1LBG8/

After the shower, use an intensive moisturizer like Vaseline Intensive Care, Bag Balm, or Aveeno Eczema Therapy. I bet if you do that for a couple of weeks, you'll see improvement.

You can also use jojoba oil to moisturize your hands throughout the day. It is very similar to our natural skin oils.

Current recommendation for aftercare I think is sterile saline. You can get a saline wound wash from a pharmacy but I like this it has the best stream (regular wound washes are too hard for me):

Change your pillowcase every night. Throw the dirty ones in with your laundry, grab a clean one nightly. You can also use a fresh towel over your pillow, but just having several pillowcases is softer, for my face at least.

You spend around 8 hours of every day rubbing your face into that pillowcase, it makes sense that it gets filthy with oils that can clog your skin.

If you have long hair, keep it off your face. If you commonly lean on your hand (I do this when I am reading or chilling in bed with my laptop), try and break the habit, or put something over your hand so you aren't rubbing the dirt and oils into your pores. Try not to rub your face too much, use a Buf-Puf (or something similar) gently when washing your face.

Apply a toner to your face in the morning and before bed after washing your face with a face wash. Apply the toner with a cotton ball.

There's a difference for sure. Baby powder is just talcum powder whereas Gold Bond has other medicated shit thrown in it. I use this stuff I found on Amazon, I like it because it adds a bit of Calamine powder with the talc.

Also, if you're not spending at least $25 on a pair of boxers or briefs, you're missing out big time. I've tried Patagonia, REI brand, but I've found Ice Breaker has the best Merino Wool undies, hands down. I like their Beast 150 series.

Mine didn’t hurt when I got them pierced. I found the feeling more weird than anything because all of the nerves located in the nipple I could feel the needle going through each layer of tissue. I had a dull ache for a day or 2 but taking ibuprofen helped a lot. I had to be careful with them not getting yanked on anything for a few weeks while they healed and the swelling went down, but they healed pretty fast and I’ve never had a problem with crusties. I think what helped mine heal so well is the aftercare spray I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00TZUJW6O?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I HIGHLY recommend that spray for any piercings. If my cartilage piercings start bothering me I use it on them once or twice a day and within a day or 2 they feel perfect again

Do you think a konjac sponge would be comparable to a natural fiber loofah sponge like this one or is there something about the texture that is special?

I just recently realized that I actually have the plant that produces the natural fiber loofah sponges in my backyard, so I tried one out yesterday! Should I get a konjac plant too? :P

It has more of a consistency of frosting, so no crumbs. Applies perfectly. I had issues with nearly every other style I would try until landing on this product. Old Spice Sweat Defense plus using Driclor once a week is the perfect combination, and it only took me about 30 years to find it!

I haven't used one, but I'm told that they do. More than anything, they help keep airflow under you which keeps you dry. A dry butt is a happy butt on motorcycle trips. It takes very little moisture to get you chafing and very uncomfortable.

Speaking of which, it's good to apply some Gold Bond or Anti Monkey Butt powder to your unmentionable areas before hitting the road.

[Male] I've got fairly severe body acne and a mild case of rosacea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosacea) (damn you Dutch genes....) Haven't ever gone to the doctor for it, but it's been... difficult. I have a hard time viewing myself as attractive as a result. Have an amazing girlfriend who still finds me attractive in spite of it all.

That is to say: The right person will still thing you're beautiful. Someone who is repulsed by it probably isn't worth your time.

Something I've done in recent weeks that has severely reduced the amount of body acne...

This: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000535RD/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00

Used with this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I20Q72/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i01

I tried this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y038CS/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00
But it wasn't NEARLY as effective as the Neutrogena for my specific skin.

It hasn't made things go away completely, but it's reduced them enough that I was able to go to a water park last week with my girlfriend and her family and had enough courage to not wear a shirt all day long.

I've also found that spending a few days in the sun and letting my skin soak in the rays will certainly alleviate the appearance as well and hide some of the scarring. The body acne started when I was about 15 (now 25) so it's not an insignificant amount. Face is 99.9% clear all the time - just back, shoulders, etc.

Eventually, I'll go in to a dermatologist for it, but in the meantime... limiting chocolate intake (sad day...) and the linked products have drastically reduced it to the point where it's now mostly sub-surface and leftover scarring.

I'm glad you're still alive. Suicide is always tragic. Stiff upper lip, chin up, all that jazz.

u/theywerecones · 2 pointsr/BeautyAddiction

I loved this! For the deodorant, the only aluminum free one that worked for me was Lavilin deodorant (http://www.amazon.com/Lavilin-Underarm-Deodorant-Cream-12-5/dp/B0013OXEFU). It's a cream so it's kind of a hassle to put on.

u/redtheda · 1 pointr/sex

People do call them that sometimes, but they are more properly termed poufs or puffs, to avoid confusion with the more abrasive natural loofah. Natural loofahs are made from the luffa plant and generally look something like this, this or this (they can make them in pretty much whatever shape) and they have a coarse texture designed to exfoliate (remove dead skin cells). Bath/shower puffs/poufs/poofs (however you want to spell it) on the other hand are generally made of synthetic fibers (usually nylon) and are much softer and easier on the skin, more suited for regular washing. Bottom line, a bath puff on your vajayjay wouldn't be so bad, but a natural loofah would probably hurt.

No. Please use a piercing aftercare product such as H2Ocean or Neilmed.

Also, you should consult with your piercer with questions specific to your situation.

No cotton! Just a saline wound spray, i really mean don’t touch it at all! I would switch to implant grade titanium, and if you don’t already have one, get a travel pillow to sleep on and put a pillowcase on it and change the pillowcase often. I got keloids, but they resolved over time. Hoops in any piercings can be tricky and will depend on your anatomy, they move around more and can irritate the piercing. I just sprayed mine with wound wash twice a day and didn’t touch it. Like seriously don’t touch it at all! If you have long hair make sure to keep it away from the piercing, and watch out for things like hats and headphones while it’s healing. this is kinda like the one I used

I get a buildup under my armpits, on chest, and around ankles. I know what you mean by the brown stuff that you scrape off.

The best solution is a soap with pumice (lava soap/solvol), second best is a soap with oatmeal. You are right loofahs don't really work, buy you can get exfoliating bath mitts that work well (you can find these gloves at the supermarket). Don't use these exfoliating products more than once a week. Do this in the shower after skin has softened a bit.

You could always try Gamer Grip. It's a tad on the expensive side but you can make it last, and it DOES actually work, from personal experience.

Otherwise yeah, maybe a new shell or grip attachment could help, but I have no experience with those things.

This stuff from Arm and Hammer is my go-to; I've been using it for about 5 years! Amazon link for example, I often find it at CVS for cheaper. I bike everywhere and am a pretty sweaty lady, and it still works well for me.

u/xnastasia · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

If waxing helps, look into DIY waxing. The cheapest way is by sugaring, you can buy some sugar wax pastes online if you're unable to get the consistency right the first time. Seconding the single blade-razor advice.
I recommend using a dry brush for exfoliation – I used to only exfoliate with italy towels in the shower, but after a dry brushing routine, skin got smoother.

I also find that ~10 minutes of direct sunlight can be effective with healing the PIE that are left over from KP. This isn't a ScA approved suggestion tho.

I prefer standing because quite frankly I'd rather not get a handful of toilet water (seriously, I don't understand sitting while you wipe.) and I also like the ease of access afforded by standing.

I tend to use a moderate amount of paper wadded into something that resembles one of those shower-poofs, with the aforementioned continuous swipe motion, if I have pooped I will apply some extra pressure and care when I get to the anus so as to get any stray poop particles.

You should try Odaban! It's the only thing that's ever worked for me besides prescription antiperspirants like Hypercare or Drysol from the dermatologist, but you can get this on Amazon and I think it works even better than any deodorant or prescription one. I've got the EXACT same problem, and its gotten worse as I've gotten older. I feel for you! I am a heavy sweater and go to lengths to make sure I don't notice a smell.

For underarms I use the clinical strength deodorant. Its pricey but works-anything else makes my underarms stinky.
For face/neck/groin I use an antiperspirant gel:

Also, for your head, keep a travel size dry shampoo on you. Spray it on a few times a day when you notice your head getting icky.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any specific questions on the products!

Using an anti-perspirant like The Face Saver under your makeup can help a ton.

u/lavaspice · 2 pointsr/pics

Check out a product called Driclor, it’s available on Amazon from the UK. You put this antiperspirant on for a week straight and then once a week after and your armpits are drier than the Sahara desert. One $20 bottle lasts me like 8 months normally, and I just use a regular deodorant on the daily.

u/grub5000 · 3 pointsr/seduction

> Rubbing causes the cologne to dissipate faster because it's spread over a wider surface area. You should press your wrists together instead.

I'm resistant to most anti-perspirants so I use this:

http://www.amazon.com/Driclor-Antiperspirant-Roll-on-75ml/dp/B001TU1EPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453045775&sr=8-1&keywords=driclor

It's unscented. You put it on the night before and then you basically don't sweat at all the next day. It's awesome.

Edit: If you put it on two or more days in a row, the effect lasts for longer (e.g. two nights in a row might last for 4 days). I usually end up using it ~3 times a week.

u/jasminedunning · 1 pointr/ehlersdanlos

I have this too! Always from my scalp weirdly and it doesn’t sound like the worst thing and it’s not but it majorly impacts me daily and just makes me feel horrible. I have been tested for dysautonomia but don’t seem to have it but the sweating still persists and has for years and years.

I know Botox is meant to help but it’s expensive/ not available everywhere. The only thing I’ve ever found help, sadly if used frequently I find it’s effectiveness wears off, is odaban. It’s suitable for the scalp, although depending on hair thickness difficult to get to the skin, and face and body.

Odaban Antiperspirant

It’s super effective but seems to be less and less effective the more it’s used. I usually save it for specific occasions etc. Also follow the instructions. Use it at night then wash off in the morning. If you sweat in the night because it reacts with the water I think it can burn and sting very badly (but causes no damage and goes when washed off)

Apologies is you’ve already tried this and good luck!

I've dealt with this forever, it ruins everything. Here's what I've found works.

  • Pick up some Odaban. Make sure to follow the directions! This is strong stuff, one spray before bed DO NOT shower before using it. I've gotten down to using it once a week, but it will sting and itch if you abuse it.
  • Use an Anti-antiperspirant with a high Aluminum percentage. I like something with around 19%, also the paste style seems to work better and stain shirts a lot less than solids. My brand is Old Spice Sweat Defense. Use that every morning. We're trying for a 1-2 punch of sweat combat here!

I've been where you are nothing but black t-shirts and a million undershirts. This is my routine and its working pretty awesomely for me. I've gotten to where I can wear a button-up shirt without an undershirt even on the hottest days.

It sounds similar to something a friend of mine with a similar problem got. He said he had to apply it every now and then at night and it would stop sweating but that it also caused a stinging sensation - from the reviews that doesn't seem to be the case, and it also seems to be put on each night and then keeps you dry all night, but could you just add your 2 cents on how it feels when applying it/how long it lasts for? Some shooters at USPSA use ProGrip. I haven't used it, so I have no idea how good it is...

I use this occasionally (usually the night before shooting) and it's worked well for me to reduce palm sweat.

I don't have profuse hand sweat though, it's more mild. Like doesn't affect me any other times, but my hands get a little slick when gripping a gun and it's hot out, and having them dry improves my grip/control significantly. I'm not sure how well the above things would work if the sweat is really bad, but hopefully that helps.

u/AgentOrangutan · 3 pointsr/myfriendwantstoknow

A deodorant that is designed to STOP sweating has worked for me in the past, and I have the same problem as you - whatever I do, I sweat within hours of being clean. I use https://www.amazon.com/Driclor-Antiperspirant-Roll-on-75ml/dp/B001TU1EPU

Smelly penis? Try putting shower gel on it whilst it's dry, just for a minute or so before you shower. Seems to make it cleaner in my experience.

Shower in the morning! Showering at night means you've then got 8 hours of smell buildup as you get hot and bothered in bed before you see anyone.

Also shower every day... Seriously, you're in the minority if you don't bathe every day? You're not ill, or a lazy teenager so..?

Good luck!

I use this to help me reach. It also helps with the dead skin. I also use Hollywood Beauty to cut down on using the topical cream. (Ive noticed the creams start to discolor my skin really bad after long term use.) I swear by this stuff. Tea Tree oil really helps out my psoriasis. I saw an immediate difference in the severity after a few days. I put it on with the scrubber at the end of my shower and do not wash it off my back. When i get out I do not wash it off with a towel. The oil will seep into your sink.

I hope this helps! I really think you'll like it if you try.

Driclor
Certain-dry
Anhydrol Forte

All these products are for topical application to help deal with HH. I have personal experience with both driclor and anhydrol forte and both work. My only complaint with using them is when applied on my feet or underarms it can produce a stinging sensation. Once applied and working I also sometimes feel a tightness on my hands and feet when they are trying to sweat but cannot.
This said it is worth it for the cost of the product and treatment results.
They may not be the 30% you are after but I can confirm that they work even at 20%.

Over on the makeup sub, someone mentioned using
Neat Feat 3B Face Saver Antiperspirant Gel for Facial Perspiration and Shine as primer for hot days when you need your make up to stay put. I bought it. Tried it. It freaking works!

I have sensitive skin so I was nervous about the whole thing, but it kept my face dry. I noticed you can’t put it on too thin or it won’t really be able to do its job, and you have to allow a few minutes to dry before adding makeup.

u/geirrseach · 1 pointr/everymanshouldknow

Try this stuff. Use the liquid not the stick, and use it as directed. Shower at night, dry off, and apply. It will itch like a mofo, don't scratch it. You'll be dry as a bone for the next day. If it's not strong enough, you can ask for prescription strength from your doctor.

I had the same problem, I think pre workout and white monsters were the main factor that caused my excessive sweating. My whole shirt would be soaked, I would dread wearing blues, and it seemed like no OTC antiperspirant worked. I read some blogs and watch some youtube and found a clinical strength roll-on version called Driclor on Amazon and within a few days it stopped. I bought this, and it lasted a while! I must say, that while I sweat a LOT, I don't have axilliary hyperhydrosis so your mileage may vary, but it's worth a shot, and the stuff isn't bank breaking!

It can be quite uncomfortable on application too (like a pinching sensation for me), but for me it was worth it. If it's too painful though, it may be a reaction to the aluminium compound they use in it.
